0:00:48 > 0:00:49Hello. I'm Andy.

0:00:49 > 0:00:52And this is a baby crocodile or hatchling.

0:00:52 > 0:00:55The mum crocodiles are some of the best parents

0:00:55 > 0:00:59in the world because they don't just look after their babies,

0:00:59 > 0:01:02they look after the babies of other crocodiles, too.

0:01:02 > 0:01:04They're fantastic team players.

0:01:04 > 0:01:06And the baby crocs,

0:01:06 > 0:01:09they grow up in what's called a crocodile creche.

0:01:09 > 0:01:14Teamwork is really important when you start out in life.

0:01:14 > 0:01:16How about a trip to Namibia in Africa?

0:01:18 > 0:01:22The sun is peeping over the horizon and for one young animal,

0:01:22 > 0:01:25that means it's time to go to work.

0:01:26 > 0:01:30This little meerkat pup is on look-out duty today.

0:01:31 > 0:01:35He's less than a year old and it's his first time doing this very

0:01:35 > 0:01:37important job.

0:01:38 > 0:01:40Oh, where's he off to?

0:01:42 > 0:01:43Ah, good idea.

0:01:43 > 0:01:47If you climb up there, you'll be able to see much further.

0:01:47 > 0:01:50And with you looking out for danger,

0:01:50 > 0:01:53the rest of your family can safely have breakfast.

0:01:56 > 0:02:00Oh, maybe it wasn't such a good idea after all!

0:02:05 > 0:02:08Never mind, I'm sure you'll get the hang of it soon.

0:02:08 > 0:02:12Just be careful that branch doesn't...

0:02:12 > 0:02:14..break.

0:02:14 > 0:02:16Time to find a new look-out post.

0:02:24 > 0:02:26Uh-oh, here comes trouble.

0:02:32 > 0:02:36This scary looking character is a Cape cobra.

0:02:36 > 0:02:39He's got a nasty venomous bite

0:02:39 > 0:02:44so he's a real threat to this pup and his family.

0:02:48 > 0:02:52But should he tackle it by himself or call for help?

0:03:02 > 0:03:05Ah, yes, good choice, little meerkat.

0:03:05 > 0:03:08Call for help. This guy is far too tough to tackle on your own.

0:03:12 > 0:03:14Here come the reinforcements.

0:03:17 > 0:03:21A group of meerkats is called a mob.

0:03:21 > 0:03:24And when they all get together and work as a team,

0:03:24 > 0:03:27they can be a pretty formidable force.

0:03:29 > 0:03:34Now, it's 15 meerkats against just one snake.

0:03:36 > 0:03:40Careful, everyone. Watch out for that venomous bite.

0:03:42 > 0:03:44Oh, look. He's off.

0:03:46 > 0:03:49Not such a tough guy after all, eh?

0:03:49 > 0:03:51Teamwork saves the day.

0:03:54 > 0:03:56Well done, young pup.

0:03:56 > 0:03:58Now run on home for your supper.

0:04:03 > 0:04:10# Andy's Baby Animals Andy's Baby Animals. #

0:04:10 > 0:04:14Now, we're off to the bottom of the world, Antarctica.

0:04:16 > 0:04:20Sometimes baby animals must rely on their parents for great teamwork.

0:04:22 > 0:04:25These are emperor penguin dads.

0:04:25 > 0:04:28They're not being lazy just all huddled up like that.

0:04:28 > 0:04:30They're doing it to keep warm

0:04:30 > 0:04:34because Antarctica is really, really cold.

0:04:36 > 0:04:40And it's not just themselves that they're keeping warm,

0:04:40 > 0:04:42each one is carrying an egg.

0:04:43 > 0:04:46Emperor penguins are amazing dads

0:04:46 > 0:04:51because they balance the egg on top of their feet for two whole months

0:04:51 > 0:04:54while the mum penguins go off fishing.

0:04:58 > 0:05:04While he's on egg duty, Dad can't go anywhere or eat anything.

0:05:04 > 0:05:08So after months of no eating, he's really, really hungry.

0:05:10 > 0:05:11Hurry up, Mum!

0:05:13 > 0:05:17She has been fishing out at sea with all the other penguin mums.

0:05:17 > 0:05:22But it looks like they're ready to start the long journey home

0:05:22 > 0:05:26to their families and they're off to a flying start.

0:05:35 > 0:05:37Keep waddling, mums.

0:05:37 > 0:05:40You know how grumpy Dad gets when he's hungry.

0:05:49 > 0:05:51At last, she's home.

0:05:57 > 0:06:02The two penguins are reunited after spending months apart.

0:06:05 > 0:06:09And to welcome her home, Dad has a little surprise.

0:06:12 > 0:06:14Her baby has hatched.

0:06:17 > 0:06:21Now it's time for Mum to take over baby-sitting duties.

0:06:30 > 0:06:35But passing a baby from foot to foot requires some nifty teamwork.

0:06:38 > 0:06:43The switch needs to be quick because the tiny chick has little protection

0:06:43 > 0:06:47against the cold and could turn into a popsicle in seconds.

0:06:52 > 0:06:55That's it. All snug and warm again.

0:06:58 > 0:07:01Mum and Dad make the perfect team.

0:07:05 > 0:07:09And while baby has a feed,

0:07:09 > 0:07:11Dad can go and find some dinner, too.

0:07:13 > 0:07:15Well deserved, Dad.

0:07:15 > 0:07:17"Thanks, Dad."

0:07:19 > 0:07:24# Andy's Baby Animals Andy's Baby Animals. #

0:07:26 > 0:07:30We're off to the Pacific Ocean and the Solomon Islands now.

0:07:31 > 0:07:35Teamwork can also be useful if you live underwater.

0:07:39 > 0:07:42This funny face belongs to a convict fish.

0:07:44 > 0:07:47Yeah, you heard it right, a convict fish!

0:07:49 > 0:07:53It lives here in the Pacific Ocean with all its babies.

0:07:53 > 0:07:58It looks like it's making a mess with all that sand, but actually,

0:07:58 > 0:08:00it's cleaning out its home.

0:08:00 > 0:08:04A series of tunnels which it's burrowed out in the seabed.

0:08:06 > 0:08:09Convict fish have lots of babies called fry.

0:08:14 > 0:08:19So the young ones always have plenty of brothers and sisters to help them

0:08:19 > 0:08:20with their chores.

0:08:24 > 0:08:27The first job of the day, tidy your room.

0:08:32 > 0:08:34Next, find some food.

0:08:40 > 0:08:43For baby convict fish, eating is easy.

0:08:43 > 0:08:48They just open their mouths and gulp down teeny-tiny creatures that float

0:08:48 > 0:08:50in the sea called plankton.

0:08:50 > 0:08:52But they also need to make sure

0:08:52 > 0:08:55they don't end up as somebody else's dinner.

0:08:55 > 0:08:59So they team up into a group called a shoal.

0:08:59 > 0:09:04It makes them look bigger to scare away other fish.

0:09:04 > 0:09:05Genius!

0:09:06 > 0:09:08With feeding time finished,

0:09:08 > 0:09:11it's time to head home to the safety of their burrow.

0:09:11 > 0:09:12In you get.

0:09:14 > 0:09:16By working together as a team,

0:09:16 > 0:09:20our little fry have made quick work of all their chores.

0:09:22 > 0:09:26Now, that's what I call great teamwork.

0:09:31 > 0:09:35For meerkat pups, penguin chicks and the fry of a convict fish,

0:09:35 > 0:09:38teamwork is part of everyday life.

0:09:38 > 0:09:40Isn't that right?

0:09:40 > 0:09:41See you next time.
