0:01:30 > 0:01:33and someone who rides a bike is called a cyclist.

0:01:33 > 0:01:37It can be tricky at first when you begin to learn to ride.

0:01:37 > 0:01:41To start with, you can put two smaller wheels, called stabilisers,

0:01:41 > 0:01:44onto the bike to help you find your balance.

0:01:44 > 0:01:46Once you're ready, you can take them off.

0:01:46 > 0:01:51It's important to wear a helmet to keep you safe when you cycle.

0:01:52 > 0:01:56Maisie and Mum have come to a bike shop to look at bikes,

0:01:56 > 0:01:57so she can learn how to ride.

0:02:13 > 0:02:16- What does Mum think? - That one's a little bit too big.

0:02:16 > 0:02:19- Yeah, I think that's too big. - Just a little bit.

0:02:19 > 0:02:21What about one with a football on it?

0:02:25 > 0:02:28- This one...- Yeah, you fancy that one? Let me help you.

0:02:28 > 0:02:30Nice choice. It's got a basket.

0:02:30 > 0:02:34That's it. Can you put your feet on the floor for me, please?

0:02:34 > 0:02:37Hmm. Great style, but it's a bit too small for you, Maisie.

0:02:37 > 0:02:40We've got one exactly like that, but bigger.

0:02:40 > 0:02:44- Shall we build it in the workshop? - Yeah.- Yeah, let's go this way.

0:02:44 > 0:02:47Helping build your own bike? This is going to be fun!

0:02:56 > 0:02:58You can open the box if you want to.

0:02:58 > 0:03:01I wonder what's inside the little box?

0:03:01 > 0:03:04- The peddles! - There they are.- Wow.

0:03:04 > 0:03:08Wendy fixes the handlebars on and tightens up the brakes,

0:03:08 > 0:03:11while Maisie removes the protective wrapping.

0:03:11 > 0:03:14- OK.- It's like opening presents.

0:03:14 > 0:03:16Can you come round here and help me, Maisie?

0:03:18 > 0:03:21- Wendy puts on the wheels... - Are you going to help me?

0:03:21 > 0:03:24We need a different size spanner, Maisie.

0:03:26 > 0:03:28- This one!- Does that fit on?

0:03:28 > 0:03:31Yes, that's right. And we're going to tighten it up.

0:03:31 > 0:03:33So, right the way round.

0:03:33 > 0:03:35Righty tighty. That's it.

0:03:35 > 0:03:37Righty tighty.

0:03:39 > 0:03:42- That's tight.- That's tight, that's good.- Where's the bell?

0:03:42 > 0:03:45That's the bell. Do you want to see if it works?

0:03:45 > 0:03:47- RING! RING! - Yay!

0:03:47 > 0:03:50Nice bell. That's the bike finished.

0:03:50 > 0:03:54The first thing in Maisie's memory box is her new bike.

0:03:57 > 0:04:01Now Maisie needs some things to keep her safe while riding.

0:04:01 > 0:04:03Are we going to try some helmets on, then?

0:04:03 > 0:04:06Find the right size. Shall we try that one?

0:04:45 > 0:04:48Let's have a look at our bike, shall we?

0:04:48 > 0:04:51We've got our brakes to stop us,

0:04:51 > 0:04:53our peddles to make us go forward...

0:04:53 > 0:04:55- And this! - RING! RING!

0:04:55 > 0:04:57Your bell to tell everybody that you're there,

0:04:57 > 0:05:00and your stabilisers while you learn.
