0:00:17 > 0:00:23Action. Hello, I'm Aidan and this is my mum.

0:00:23 > 0:00:26- Hello. - This is my brother.- Hello.

0:00:26 > 0:00:29- And this is my scary dad.- Hello.

0:00:29 > 0:00:31And this is where we all live.

0:00:36 > 0:00:41- 'Aidan and Ethan are brothers from Cambridge who have a unique relationship.'- You all right?

0:00:41 > 0:00:47'Ten-year-old Aidan has a form of dwarfism which affects his height and movement.

0:00:47 > 0:00:51'He has inherited this bone condition from his mum, Michelle.'

0:00:51 > 0:00:55The best thing about being smaller than everyone else

0:00:55 > 0:00:59is that you can fit down the back of the sofa,

0:00:59 > 0:01:04and it's handy for when you're playing hide and seek and things,

0:01:04 > 0:01:06cos you can hide where everyone else can't.

0:01:06 > 0:01:11While his dad works away from home, 14-year-old Ethan often has to cook,

0:01:11 > 0:01:14do the housework and care for his mum and brother.

0:01:14 > 0:01:17Ethan, can I have a drink?

0:01:17 > 0:01:21Sometimes I am annoyed with looking after and doing jobs,

0:01:21 > 0:01:24but I just have to do it and that's life.

0:01:24 > 0:01:27Michelle and Aidan are shorter than average, so some people

0:01:27 > 0:01:30see them as unusual and make fun of their appearance.

0:01:30 > 0:01:36People at my old school used to take the Mick, like calling my mum a midget and Oompa Loompa.

0:01:36 > 0:01:38And because his family is seen as being different,

0:01:38 > 0:01:44Ethan has been severely bullied by other children to the point where he's had to change schools.

0:01:44 > 0:01:48Both boys face very different personal challenges this year.

0:01:49 > 0:01:54After an operation to straighten his legs, Aidan has to learn how to walk again.

0:01:54 > 0:01:58Will he achieve his ambition of walking up the stairs at home completely by himself?

0:01:58 > 0:02:04And will Ethan be able to put the bullying behind him, and fit in at his new school?

0:02:13 > 0:02:16If I had to describe Aidan in three words it would be

0:02:16 > 0:02:21cheeky, loud and full of big words.

0:02:22 > 0:02:25He would describe me as irritating...

0:02:26 > 0:02:28..like a mouse in the skirting board.

0:02:31 > 0:02:32That's not fair.

0:02:34 > 0:02:37The best thing about having a brother

0:02:37 > 0:02:44is that you get to boss him about, and if I didn't I wouldn't be able to do anything when Dad's not here.

0:02:44 > 0:02:49I'm a support worker for adults with learning disabilities

0:02:49 > 0:02:56and my shifts range from early mornings to 9:30pm,

0:02:56 > 0:02:58which means Ethan has to do things

0:02:58 > 0:03:01that not every child has to do for his family.

0:03:12 > 0:03:15I've been going for quite a long time for my mum and my brother.

0:03:15 > 0:03:19I think it was since the age of eight or nine.

0:03:19 > 0:03:23It ranges from day to day obviously, depending on how I am.

0:03:23 > 0:03:27But he can cook meals, he empties and reloads the dishwasher.

0:03:27 > 0:03:29He's very handy round the house.

0:03:31 > 0:03:35Ethan, what's it like to care for your mum?

0:03:35 > 0:03:37You've given me a bit of a difficult question.

0:03:37 > 0:03:40Just say what you feel.

0:03:40 > 0:03:42It's quite hard...

0:03:42 > 0:03:48To know that I do more than any of my other friends...

0:03:48 > 0:03:53looking after my mum and you.

0:03:53 > 0:03:56It makes you quite handy as well though,

0:03:56 > 0:03:58thinking of all the things you do.

0:03:58 > 0:04:02- It will be all right when I'm older. - You'll be set up for when you move out!

0:04:08 > 0:04:12When Ethan needs a break, he goes out to his local Young Carers' group

0:04:12 > 0:04:17where other children who look after their families can get together and relax.

0:04:17 > 0:04:20I like being friends with Warren

0:04:20 > 0:04:27because we can talk about our families and not be worried about what they think.

0:04:27 > 0:04:30People at school just don't understand what

0:04:30 > 0:04:33your mum's or some of your family's going through

0:04:33 > 0:04:36and unless you tell them the whole story they won't understand.

0:04:37 > 0:04:43People at my old school used to take the mick, like calling my mum a midget and Oompa Loompa.

0:04:43 > 0:04:46I've found out not to tell anyone at school.

0:04:46 > 0:04:51Over the years I've had quite a bit of bullying. In my old school.

0:04:51 > 0:04:56How it started is they'd ask why my mum was small and I'd tell them

0:04:56 > 0:05:00that she was born with a bone condition and...

0:05:00 > 0:05:05they just thought it was funny cos she was small.

0:05:05 > 0:05:09And then it just got worse and me, like, protecting myself,

0:05:09 > 0:05:12shouting back, and then it started to get physical.

0:05:12 > 0:05:16I found it quite hard with them bullying me cos I didn't know

0:05:16 > 0:05:19how to take it and I used to not be able to go to school.

0:05:19 > 0:05:22I did have anger management.

0:05:22 > 0:05:27I couldn't really take it and one time I got rushed into hospital because I hit a window,

0:05:27 > 0:05:30taking my anger out on the window,

0:05:30 > 0:05:33cos I didn't want to hit anyone else.

0:05:36 > 0:05:41At the height of the bullying, Ethan was walking with his mum when he was attacked in the street.

0:05:43 > 0:05:49Me and Mum were walking back from a party and a boy just walked up to us and started shouting.

0:05:49 > 0:05:54He then pushed me off my bike

0:05:54 > 0:05:58and I hurt my knee and my hand,

0:05:58 > 0:06:02and he started hitting me and kicking me,

0:06:02 > 0:06:04asking me who I was.

0:06:04 > 0:06:06I didn't reply

0:06:06 > 0:06:08and he retaliated more.

0:06:10 > 0:06:13I managed to get away on my bike

0:06:13 > 0:06:18and he threw a glass bottle at me and it hit me in the back.

0:06:21 > 0:06:24And then broke in front of me.

0:06:24 > 0:06:26And then...

0:06:26 > 0:06:31I phoned the police and they came about two minutes later.

0:06:33 > 0:06:35It was a very scary night.

0:06:35 > 0:06:37Yeah.

0:06:37 > 0:06:43After I got attacked I had to go to court and I had to give evidence of what happened on the night.

0:06:43 > 0:06:47I was quite frightened of seeing the guy in court.

0:06:48 > 0:06:51But luckily I had a video link.

0:06:51 > 0:06:58On a scale of one to ten, I think confidence-wise I'm about six.

0:06:58 > 0:07:03During the bullying, it would probably be about two.

0:07:03 > 0:07:09Now that Ethan has told his story in court, he faces a long wait to find out the court's sentence.

0:07:13 > 0:07:18Ethan and his parents have decided he needs a fresh start to get away from the bullies.

0:07:18 > 0:07:23To build up his confidence at his new school, Ethan is learning how to DJ.

0:07:23 > 0:07:26OK, so we've been asked to put on an event, and it's a big event

0:07:26 > 0:07:29that we're going to hold in the hall for end of term.

0:07:29 > 0:07:33This time we're going to do a club DJ event.

0:07:33 > 0:07:36How are we going to make that more exciting? Ethan.

0:07:36 > 0:07:41- Use different effects like scratching and mixing.- That's it,

0:07:41 > 0:07:45you're going to engage the audience through your music.

0:07:45 > 0:07:47Aidan faces a very different challenge.

0:07:49 > 0:07:52Aidan and I both have the same bone condition.

0:07:52 > 0:08:00Aidan and Michelle have a condition called skeletal dysplasia in which their bones don't develop properly.

0:08:00 > 0:08:04It affects all our joints and it's a curvature of the spine which Aidan

0:08:04 > 0:08:10has had corrected, and also all the long bones are curved as well.

0:08:10 > 0:08:16The other operation Aidan's had is to straighten his legs.

0:08:16 > 0:08:18And...

0:08:19 > 0:08:21What's it like to be small?

0:08:21 > 0:08:26I've always been small, obviously, so...

0:08:26 > 0:08:27it's hard to say.

0:08:27 > 0:08:30It's very annoying with things like cash point machines,

0:08:30 > 0:08:34when you can't reach to get your own money out of the wall.

0:08:34 > 0:08:39It used to bother me a bit when I was younger, didn't like always being the smallest,

0:08:39 > 0:08:43but yeah, it's not too bad being small, really.

0:08:43 > 0:08:46What's it like having a son the same as you?

0:08:46 > 0:08:52I used to feel a bit guilty that I'd obviously been the one who'd given you the condition,

0:08:52 > 0:08:53but...

0:08:53 > 0:08:57you are a lovely boy and you've got a brilliant life,

0:08:57 > 0:09:00and you get on with things as well, like I do.

0:09:02 > 0:09:07This is my favourite book and it's called

0:09:07 > 0:09:09Arthur Spiderwick's Field Guide.

0:09:12 > 0:09:16And I like it because it's got lots of

0:09:16 > 0:09:18creatures and things.

0:09:18 > 0:09:21And there's a sprite,

0:09:21 > 0:09:24a knocker, it's very creepy.

0:09:24 > 0:09:26Here is a dragon.

0:09:28 > 0:09:30This is my favourite,

0:09:30 > 0:09:35cos he's a bit like me, and he makes lovely jewellery, and it's a dwarf.

0:09:37 > 0:09:41Aidan is desperate to regain his independence and walk upstairs by himself,

0:09:41 > 0:09:47and so he has to undergo intensive treatment to build up the strength in his legs.

0:09:47 > 0:09:50Push through your legs, good boy.

0:09:50 > 0:09:55'He is certainly pushing much better through his legs and he's moving'

0:09:55 > 0:10:00much better with his elbow crutches so he's progressing really well.

0:10:00 > 0:10:02Big step from just last week.

0:10:02 > 0:10:06So just to recap, Aidan, the short-term goal

0:10:06 > 0:10:12is for you to walk upstairs to your room without any walking aid.

0:10:12 > 0:10:18And then for next year, the aim is for you to go out and play football.

0:10:18 > 0:10:22That'll be fab, won't it?

0:10:25 > 0:10:28But the next stage in the treatment means that Aidan

0:10:28 > 0:10:31will have to confront one of his biggest fears.

0:10:31 > 0:10:35'Working in the pool would be easier for Aidan at this stage

0:10:35 > 0:10:39because of the buoyancy of the water, so it will support his weight

0:10:39 > 0:10:42a little bit better than working in the gym.

0:10:42 > 0:10:45There is hydrotherapy planned for Aidan,

0:10:45 > 0:10:49but he's petrified of water due to the fact that he had

0:10:49 > 0:10:53a tracheostomy - which is a breathing tube in the neck -

0:10:53 > 0:10:58a few years ago, which means he couldn't go in water.

0:10:58 > 0:11:02- I don't want to. - Do you know what, you have to.

0:11:02 > 0:11:05It's going to be quite a big hurdle for him to get over that.

0:11:05 > 0:11:09Ethan has been trying to support Aidan at the hospital and at home

0:11:09 > 0:11:12but Aidan doesn't always want his brother's help.

0:11:12 > 0:11:16Aidan had a fall this morning. He slipped while using his crutches,

0:11:16 > 0:11:23which upset him quite a bit, and then Ethan was trying to help him get up off the floor.

0:11:23 > 0:11:29And Aidan kind of took it out on Ethan, even though it wasn't Ethan's fault.

0:11:29 > 0:11:32We just started shouting and having a go at each other.

0:11:32 > 0:11:38And after a while he did let Ethan pick him and up and put him in his wheelchair,

0:11:38 > 0:11:44but he was in quite a bad mood for a quite a bit of the time till we got to school, really.

0:11:48 > 0:11:51It can be a bit frustrating when

0:11:51 > 0:11:56I want to do something myself but Ethan comes and helps.

0:11:56 > 0:12:01Sometimes it can be good because you don't have to do everything

0:12:01 > 0:12:05when you can't sort of do it yourself.

0:12:05 > 0:12:10That's the first beat of the bar and that's what we're always looking for as a club DJ...

0:12:10 > 0:12:12'But Ethan has his own problems too.

0:12:12 > 0:12:17'It's just two weeks till the Club night and his solo DJ spot.

0:12:17 > 0:12:19'Will he ready in time?'

0:12:19 > 0:12:23'When you're mixing you've got to make sure the speed is the same

0:12:23 > 0:12:30'and you got to make sure you cue up the tracks.'

0:12:30 > 0:12:36And then we have to scratch or mix it in with different songs.

0:12:36 > 0:12:39Me and Harry talk about the event quite a lot, planning out

0:12:39 > 0:12:44what songs we are going to play how we're going to play them.

0:12:44 > 0:12:49The challenge for Ethan is finding five or six suitable tracks for his audience to listen to,

0:12:49 > 0:12:51finding a creative way to mix one into the other

0:12:51 > 0:12:55and hopefully satisfying his year group in the process.

0:12:55 > 0:12:58I think they've probably got quite good reason to be nervous.

0:12:58 > 0:13:03'If I'd been DJ-ing just a few weeks then I'd be feeling nervous as well. But nerves are definitely'

0:13:03 > 0:13:07a good thing when it comes to performance. That means they care about what they do.

0:13:07 > 0:13:13I'll probably play fast and beaty music, Harry plays the older kind of music.

0:13:13 > 0:13:19# I don't want another pretty face I don't want just anyone to hold

0:13:19 > 0:13:21# I don't want my love to go to waste

0:13:21 > 0:13:27# I want you and you're beautiful So you're the one I want to chase

0:13:27 > 0:13:31# You're the one I want to hold... #

0:13:31 > 0:13:33'Harry's a good friend. He's funny.

0:13:33 > 0:13:36'He embarrasses me a few times.'

0:13:47 > 0:13:52These are the tracks I'm going to be doing on the disco on Wednesday.

0:13:52 > 0:13:57Ethan has to run his final selection of tracks past his fiercest critic, his brother.

0:13:57 > 0:14:00- You don't like it?- It's rubbish. It sounds like the record's stuck.

0:14:00 > 0:14:03Cool.

0:14:03 > 0:14:05That's wicked.

0:14:05 > 0:14:06All right!

0:14:08 > 0:14:14This is where we get all the audience on the dance floor, dancing.

0:14:17 > 0:14:22'Aidan is coming to the club night. How will Ethan's new classmates react to

0:14:22 > 0:14:26'seeing his brother for the first time? And will it lead to a repeat

0:14:26 > 0:14:28'of the bullying he suffered at his last school?'

0:14:28 > 0:14:30Boring!

0:14:30 > 0:14:34I'm feeling all right about Aidan coming in, cos maybe they'll understand

0:14:34 > 0:14:36what he's like and how he is.

0:14:36 > 0:14:38I'm a DJ!

0:14:41 > 0:14:45I think the worst thing about it going wrong is me messing up,

0:14:45 > 0:14:52when I've got an audience and if they're jumping about and then I mess it up and it stops...

0:14:52 > 0:14:53they all boo

0:14:53 > 0:14:55and don't like it.

0:14:55 > 0:14:59# Electrify my body and you're making me feel like I'm so electric

0:14:59 > 0:15:00# Everything you do... #

0:15:00 > 0:15:04Ethan and his friends have come to see top club DJ N-Type

0:15:04 > 0:15:06to get some advice on mixing tracks for their event.

0:15:06 > 0:15:09- What inspired you to be a DJ? - A love of music, really.

0:15:09 > 0:15:16I love playing tunes and wanted to interact with the music and basically play to people and get the vibe.

0:15:16 > 0:15:19Do you have to have a big personality to be a DJ?

0:15:19 > 0:15:24I think it's most important to play the music you want to play and play it the way you want to play it.

0:15:24 > 0:15:30'Ethan and Harry have learned the basics of how to mix from one track into another at school.

0:15:30 > 0:15:34'DJ N-Type will show them how to use special effects to make their mixes more dynamic.'

0:15:34 > 0:15:38I'll cue the tune and then you can do the effects on the filter and then we'll do

0:15:38 > 0:15:43some bass juggles as well cos this tunes got a nice bit of bass that comes in on the intro.

0:15:43 > 0:15:46If you take the bass down, I'll take the bass up on this mix, yeah?

0:16:01 > 0:16:04Now you can do the bass lines on here.

0:16:04 > 0:16:08So if you turn that one down, I'll turn this one up. This one.

0:16:08 > 0:16:10Ready? Now.

0:16:13 > 0:16:17Wicked, that made a nice little blend at the end.

0:16:17 > 0:16:22It was really exciting to meet DJ N-Type. I really enjoyed it.

0:16:22 > 0:16:26It has inspired me to be a DJ when I'm older.

0:16:26 > 0:16:31- We're all quite nervous about the disco.- I'm not.

0:16:35 > 0:16:40Ethan has to leave his rehearsals to help Aidan, who has outgrown his old wheelchair

0:16:40 > 0:16:42and wants the family to help him choose a new one.

0:16:42 > 0:16:47- Hi, Michelle, I'm Barry. - Pleased to meet you.- And you.

0:16:47 > 0:16:49- Hi, Aidan.- Hello.

0:16:49 > 0:16:52- All right, mate?- Yeah.- Jolly good.

0:16:52 > 0:16:54Shake my hand. School boy error. MICHELLE LAUGHS

0:16:54 > 0:16:58- Right, so we'll look at the day chair today?- Yeah.

0:16:58 > 0:17:01You can get really cool wheelchairs.

0:17:01 > 0:17:06When I was first in a wheelchair we had wheelchairs that weren't so cool, then they brought out

0:17:06 > 0:17:10the modern ultra light wheelchairs, which revolutionised peoples' lives.

0:17:10 > 0:17:13You've got to be practical obviously,

0:17:13 > 0:17:15and meet your needs, but being cool...

0:17:15 > 0:17:21It's vital, absolutely. Especially when you're an Arsenal supporter.

0:17:27 > 0:17:29Right, it's torture time.

0:17:39 > 0:17:41Cool!

0:17:55 > 0:17:57- I like it.- You're getting faster.

0:17:57 > 0:18:00It's really light.

0:18:11 > 0:18:12I want to buy the shop.

0:18:12 > 0:18:16You can if offer me the right money you can, and I can retire then.

0:18:16 > 0:18:19- How much?- Oh, a couple of million would do it. MICHELLE LAUGHS

0:18:19 > 0:18:21I've only go 120.

0:18:21 > 0:18:23What, 120 million?

0:18:23 > 0:18:29- No, £120.- What do you think they'll think of your wheelchair at school? - Wicked.

0:18:29 > 0:18:34- It would make your life easier, wouldn't it?- A lot of people spend their money on cars,

0:18:34 > 0:18:36I'll spend all my money on a wheelchair.

0:18:53 > 0:18:56'Although, with luck, Aidan won't be using his new chair as much.

0:18:56 > 0:19:00'After another physio session, he's a lot more confident on his crutches.'

0:19:00 > 0:19:02Do you want to go and get the newspaper for me?

0:19:02 > 0:19:04I think that's been delivered.

0:19:18 > 0:19:21Well done, you.

0:19:21 > 0:19:25You're getting good at that, aren't you? Shall I take that from you?

0:19:25 > 0:19:27Thank you very much. Well done.

0:19:27 > 0:19:29Are you worn out now?

0:19:29 > 0:19:32And that's a wrap!

0:19:32 > 0:19:37But the stairs he so badly wants to climb are, for now, still too steep for him to manage.

0:19:37 > 0:19:40So he has to take the lift instead.

0:19:42 > 0:19:44Hello.

0:20:05 > 0:20:11In order to achieve his goal, Aidan has to face his biggest fear, the hydrotherapy pool.

0:20:16 > 0:20:20To start with he was very, very nervous,

0:20:20 > 0:20:23clinging to the side of the pool and didn't want to get in.

0:20:28 > 0:20:31Lots of kicking.

0:20:35 > 0:20:39Once he was in there and he felt secure because I was in the pool with him,

0:20:39 > 0:20:44I think the next few sessions will boost his confidence immensely.

0:20:58 > 0:21:03I want you to turn round and put your bottom on there. Well done.

0:21:05 > 0:21:07Shall we book another session next week?

0:21:10 > 0:21:13'When I got in the pool for the first time,'

0:21:13 > 0:21:18I was very worried before I was going to go in it.

0:21:18 > 0:21:20But then afterwards

0:21:20 > 0:21:22I didn't want to get out again.

0:21:22 > 0:21:26'The biggest test for Aidan now is whether he can walk down the steps unaided.'

0:21:31 > 0:21:36You can sit down on that step can't you? That step you're on...

0:21:36 > 0:21:38You can sit down.

0:21:40 > 0:21:42Well done. Very good.

0:21:42 > 0:21:45Then turn round onto there.

0:21:47 > 0:21:49You're in.

0:21:49 > 0:21:51Don't fall through the hole.

0:21:59 > 0:22:03Ethan's first big challenge at his new school is still to come.

0:22:03 > 0:22:04It's a few short hours before Club Night,

0:22:04 > 0:22:09and just time to make his final preparations for the gig.

0:22:09 > 0:22:11- Nervous?- Yeah.

0:22:11 > 0:22:13Why?

0:22:13 > 0:22:15You've done it once before.

0:22:15 > 0:22:18Yeah, I know.

0:22:18 > 0:22:21I've done a Shakespearian monologue on here before.

0:22:21 > 0:22:27I'm a Shakespearian actor, I think you can do some... black banging beats, lads.

0:22:28 > 0:22:33Ethan's quite nervous - he hasn't been on the stage much before, and his name's on the poster.

0:22:33 > 0:22:35'It's quite a big thing for him tonight.'

0:22:35 > 0:22:39I'm feeling quite nervous about the audience watching and listening.

0:22:39 > 0:22:45Aidan's coming along a bit later, so I think that will make me less nervous.

0:22:47 > 0:22:51I think Ethan's going to be nervous about doing the DJ-ing tonight

0:22:51 > 0:22:54because he's going to be doing it in front of all his friends.

0:22:54 > 0:22:57It's more pressure for Ethan because Mum and Dad will be watching.

0:22:57 > 0:23:01How are the levels for you, guys, are you OK up there?

0:23:06 > 0:23:11The whole school has turned out for the club night. Harry plays the first set

0:23:11 > 0:23:13and warms up the crowd.

0:23:13 > 0:23:18# Baby, you're all that I want When you're lying here... #

0:23:18 > 0:23:21Michelle, Lee and Aidan arrive, waiting for Ethan's big moment.

0:23:21 > 0:23:24# I'm finding it hard to believe We're in heaven... #

0:23:24 > 0:23:27Ethan comes on stage and plays his first track.

0:23:30 > 0:23:34It's time for Ethan's crucial first mix.

0:23:34 > 0:23:36Will he get the timing right?

0:23:39 > 0:23:43MUSIC: "I need air" by Magnetic Man

0:23:55 > 0:24:01With the crowd cheering him on, Ethan feels confident enough to invite his special guest on stage.

0:24:01 > 0:24:06How will Ethan's classmates react to seeing Aidan for the first time?

0:24:06 > 0:24:09# You're makin' it hard for me I need air...

0:24:09 > 0:24:14# I need air... #

0:24:19 > 0:24:20CHEERING

0:24:34 > 0:24:36THEY CHANT: Ethan!

0:24:36 > 0:24:41The boys have gone down a storm and Michelle is really proud of her sons' achievements.

0:24:41 > 0:24:45It's quite scary but once Aidan came on I really enjoyed it.

0:24:45 > 0:24:49It really helped me when I was helping him

0:24:49 > 0:24:51and I weren't scared no more.

0:24:51 > 0:24:54Ethan did a good job...ish.

0:24:54 > 0:24:56Ish?!

0:24:56 > 0:24:58Ethan has made a great start at his new school,

0:24:58 > 0:25:01but he is still finding it hard to put the attack behind him.

0:25:03 > 0:25:08But now Michelle has had a telephone call from the court where Ethan had to give evidence.

0:25:08 > 0:25:12He is about to find out how the court has sentenced his attacker.

0:25:12 > 0:25:16They said he could either have a tag and/or a curfew.

0:25:16 > 0:25:21He's got 80 hours of community service, which is unpaid work.

0:25:21 > 0:25:25If you think about that, 80 hours is quite a lot, isn't it?

0:25:25 > 0:25:29He's also got a 24-hour attendance centre order,

0:25:29 > 0:25:33which is basically like school at the weekends,

0:25:33 > 0:25:37and he's got to pay £100 compensation to you.

0:25:37 > 0:25:43Finally, Ethan can put the attack behind him and move on.

0:25:43 > 0:25:44It's over.

0:25:47 > 0:25:50The advice I'd give someone who's getting bullied

0:25:50 > 0:25:53is to tell someone and not suffer in silence.

0:25:53 > 0:25:57After another successful hydrotherapy session in the pool,

0:25:57 > 0:26:01Aidan feels ready to tackle his personal goal.

0:26:01 > 0:26:04He wants to attempt to climb the stairs completely on his own,

0:26:04 > 0:26:08even though it is a month before he was expected to be fit enough.

0:26:08 > 0:26:11Has he set himself too hard a challenge?

0:26:13 > 0:26:15- Are you going to give it a go up the stairs, Aidan?- Yeah.

0:26:15 > 0:26:17Go on, then.

0:26:24 > 0:26:25- You OK?- Yeah.

0:26:33 > 0:26:37Aidan is only halfway there and already he is struggling and out of breath.

0:26:43 > 0:26:45Well done.

0:26:47 > 0:26:48Come on,

0:26:48 > 0:26:50nearly there.

0:26:57 > 0:27:00- Tiring?- Yes.

0:27:06 > 0:27:09- That good?- Hard.

0:27:11 > 0:27:16When I climbed up the stairs I felt really proud and happy with myself.

0:27:16 > 0:27:23Aidan's done it and no-one could be more proud than his big brother.

0:27:23 > 0:27:25I'd like to play football next.
