0:02:21 > 0:02:24It's not always fun, though!

0:02:24 > 0:02:27We've got so many people in the house it's huge and annoying

0:02:27 > 0:02:30and loud, and...but it's really good.

0:02:30 > 0:02:32BURP!

0:02:32 > 0:02:34That was nice(!)

0:02:34 > 0:02:37One of the best things about being in a house with a bunch of people

0:02:37 > 0:02:40is that you're never really lonely.

0:02:40 > 0:02:45You've got so many brothers and sisters, like...

0:02:45 > 0:02:47you're just friends with everyone.

0:02:47 > 0:02:49- Yay!- Aw.

0:02:49 > 0:02:53You can just about fit 14 people around one table,

0:02:53 > 0:02:56but upstairs it's even more crowded.

0:02:56 > 0:03:01This is mine, Sophia's and Enos' room.

0:03:01 > 0:03:02Yeah!

0:03:02 > 0:03:05Sophia and I sleep in this bed and Enos sleeps in this bed.

0:03:05 > 0:03:09I sleep at one end and she sleeps at the other.

0:03:09 > 0:03:11This is Alice's and Jonas's room.

0:03:11 > 0:03:15Alice sleeps on this bed, Jonas sleeps on that bed.

0:03:15 > 0:03:19I like sharing a room but my sister Alice doesn't.

0:03:19 > 0:03:21I really wish I had my own room

0:03:21 > 0:03:24cos then I wouldn't have to share with anyone.

0:03:24 > 0:03:27Four of my sisters sleep in this bedroom.

0:03:27 > 0:03:32Jennifer, Charlotte, Isabella and Eva.

0:03:33 > 0:03:36Even if you have a room to yourself, everyone's always in it.

0:03:36 > 0:03:39- Wee!- Wee!

0:03:40 > 0:03:42Rachel has her own room.

0:03:42 > 0:03:44I've had my own room for a while.

0:03:44 > 0:03:47But sometimes you'll find Jonas in here watching a movie

0:03:47 > 0:03:50it's just like "Aarrggh! It's just mine!"

0:03:50 > 0:03:51This is Polly's room.

0:03:51 > 0:03:56Polly shares her room with David Beckham!

0:03:56 > 0:03:59I have a room to myself and I never seem to get any of the little ones

0:03:59 > 0:04:03in my bed but it's a shame for mum because she's next door

0:04:03 > 0:04:05and she gets all the little ones in her bed.

0:04:05 > 0:04:10Last night, Jonas, Enos,

0:04:10 > 0:04:14Posy, Mum and Dad were sleeping in here.

0:04:14 > 0:04:15Poor Mum and Dad!

0:04:15 > 0:04:17They don't seem to mind, though.

0:04:17 > 0:04:20It's really kind of musical beds in our house.

0:04:20 > 0:04:23Nobody really has a sense of their bed, their room

0:04:23 > 0:04:24for any length of time.

0:04:26 > 0:04:29But soon there will be a bit more room in the house

0:04:29 > 0:04:33as my big sister Rachel is getting married and leaving home.

0:04:33 > 0:04:36And we're all going to be bridesmaids!

0:04:36 > 0:04:40The bridesmaids are Megan, her best friend,

0:04:40 > 0:04:47Sophia, Polly, Charlotte, Alice, me, Jennifer, Isabella, Eva and Posy.

0:04:47 > 0:04:51Rachel has chosen the outfits we'll all be wearing.

0:04:51 > 0:04:52I have ten bridesmaids,

0:04:52 > 0:04:56five older bridesmaids who are wearing this green dress

0:04:56 > 0:05:00and five little bridesmaids who are wearing this cream dress.

0:05:00 > 0:05:04I like my dress because it's got lovely ribbon.

0:05:04 > 0:05:06I'm not really looking forward to wearing it,

0:05:06 > 0:05:07I don't really like dresses.

0:05:07 > 0:05:10You'll have something on underneath so you're OK.

0:05:10 > 0:05:13I like dressing up in my bridesmaid dress

0:05:13 > 0:05:16Although we are happy that Rachel is getting married,

0:05:16 > 0:05:18it didn't feel that way at first.

0:05:18 > 0:05:21I cried when Rachel said she was getting married

0:05:21 > 0:05:23because I didn't want her to go.

0:05:23 > 0:05:25Being honest, I'll probably feel a bit...

0:05:25 > 0:05:30not sad, just think "Oh, what a shame she's gone."

0:05:30 > 0:05:32Come here. Yeah!

0:05:32 > 0:05:37I will miss her. She's my big sister that I look up to, so...

0:05:38 > 0:05:40Yeah!

0:05:41 > 0:05:44Rachel and I are really close,

0:05:44 > 0:05:47so her leaving is going to be really tough for me.

0:05:48 > 0:05:51- Why are you sad? - Because you're going to leave!

0:05:52 > 0:05:57- But I'll still see you, yeah? - Yep.

0:05:57 > 0:06:00I'm going to miss Rachel when she's not here

0:06:00 > 0:06:05because she's just a really nice big sister.

0:06:05 > 0:06:08- Do you think the house will be different without me in it?- Yeah.

0:06:08 > 0:06:12- How different?- A lot different. - A lot different?

0:06:12 > 0:06:16It will be hard to be that person they can just come to.

0:06:16 > 0:06:21I won't be far but just further away than down the hall.

0:06:21 > 0:06:24- I will miss you! - I'll miss you, too.

0:06:29 > 0:06:32My mum and dad always wanted a big family

0:06:32 > 0:06:34and sometimes we all wonder why.

0:06:35 > 0:06:38I think Mum and Dad had a big family

0:06:38 > 0:06:42because they came from a big family.

0:06:42 > 0:06:47They had tons of siblings and they wanted us to have tons of siblings

0:06:47 > 0:06:50We always have a joke and I bet every family does

0:06:50 > 0:06:53but you always say, "You should have just stopped after me."

0:06:53 > 0:06:57When Enos was born, Jonas said "We don't need him!

0:06:57 > 0:07:00"Take him back to the hospital!" And he was crying over it.

0:07:00 > 0:07:04I used to joke when I was younger about having 15 kids

0:07:04 > 0:07:05but I was just joking!

0:07:05 > 0:07:08In our house, it can be lots of fun.

0:07:08 > 0:07:12But sometimes we make each other really mad.

0:07:12 > 0:07:15The worst bit about being in a big family is...

0:07:15 > 0:07:17Mine! Mine! Mine!

0:07:17 > 0:07:19..there's a lot of fights.

0:07:19 > 0:07:24The boys fight. They like to fight over toys.

0:07:24 > 0:07:25I'm sorry!

0:07:25 > 0:07:29Sometimes I feel like we're on a wildlife documentary

0:07:29 > 0:07:33where just, like, a lion is going after the zebras.

0:07:33 > 0:07:36You have to be loud in the house,

0:07:36 > 0:07:38you have to make your point heard.

0:07:38 > 0:07:40Wah! Wah!

0:07:40 > 0:07:43Living in this house often drives me crazy!

0:07:44 > 0:07:46I get really angry.

0:07:46 > 0:07:51A couple of times I have run away. I ran away to my friend's house

0:07:51 > 0:07:54which is not far away, but then I always come back.

0:07:55 > 0:07:58And I'm not the only one who's tried to break free.

0:07:58 > 0:08:02When I was younger, I used to run away for a couple of hours.

0:08:02 > 0:08:04But someone always finds you.

0:08:04 > 0:08:05Annabelle, no!

0:08:05 > 0:08:11We all fight but then the next day we're all friends again.

0:08:12 > 0:08:16We may sometimes try to escape the chaos of a big family,

0:08:16 > 0:08:19but there's no escaping all the chores!

0:08:19 > 0:08:25This is a list of jobs Dad put on the board yesterday.

0:08:25 > 0:08:29If you didn't do any jobs, you wouldn't get any pocket money.

0:08:29 > 0:08:31You wouldn't have any money.

0:08:31 > 0:08:33And the house would just be a mess.

0:08:35 > 0:08:37Will you clean the microwave and the bin?

0:08:37 > 0:08:40Today, I am going to clean the floor.

0:08:41 > 0:08:46We help clean the bathroom, the bin and the microwave.

0:08:50 > 0:08:56The one job I do every week is unloading all the shopping.

0:08:56 > 0:09:00And our weekly shop is massive. Including...

0:09:00 > 0:09:02tons of fruit,

0:09:02 > 0:09:04oodles of noodles

0:09:04 > 0:09:07and a mountain of toilet rolls.

0:09:10 > 0:09:12As well as helping with the jobs,

0:09:12 > 0:09:17I often help Mum look after my six younger brothers and sisters.

0:09:17 > 0:09:21Sometimes, Mum needs a little rest cos she's tired, and that.

0:09:21 > 0:09:25If you help her, then she'll get a rest and

0:09:25 > 0:09:27she'll be able to help you when you need help.

0:09:29 > 0:09:32When you come to the park you have to look out for all the little ones.

0:09:32 > 0:09:35And Dad thinks it's good for us.

0:09:35 > 0:09:40They're learning about each other and how to deal with each other,

0:09:40 > 0:09:43and I suppose those things that they learn through play

0:09:43 > 0:09:47and through being together will help them in their lives later on.

0:09:47 > 0:09:50Wheee!

0:09:50 > 0:09:53It feels good to look after the little ones cos

0:09:53 > 0:09:54if you don't, they could get hurt.

0:09:56 > 0:09:58We all have to look out for each other.

0:09:58 > 0:10:01And we all help look after our baby sister, Posy.

0:10:01 > 0:10:05And getting her to sleep in a sledge is one of Alice's latest tricks!

0:10:05 > 0:10:08Being in a big family makes you more mature.

0:10:08 > 0:10:11You can learn things for future reasons like having a baby.

0:10:13 > 0:10:15And I'm a real pro at changing a nappy now.

0:10:17 > 0:10:19It's not that bad really.

0:10:20 > 0:10:21Yay!

0:10:23 > 0:10:26It's only two weeks to go until Rachel's wedding,

0:10:26 > 0:10:30and the big event is going to take place in the church across the road.

0:10:30 > 0:10:33This is where we spend loads of our time.

0:10:33 > 0:10:36BOTH: This is our house and this is our church!

0:10:36 > 0:10:40We are Mormons and our church is called

0:10:40 > 0:10:43the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

0:10:44 > 0:10:48Every Sunday, all 14 of us put on our best clothes and head to church.

0:10:50 > 0:10:56Our religion, Mormonism, began in America over 175 years ago.

0:10:56 > 0:10:59We're just like more strict Christians. We don't drink,

0:10:59 > 0:11:02we don't smoke, we don't swear.

0:11:02 > 0:11:05Being a Mormon is a big part of our lives.

0:11:06 > 0:11:10My big sisters love coming to church as much as I do.

0:11:10 > 0:11:14My mum and my dad have really pushed that we should keep going

0:11:14 > 0:11:16to church and we always did.

0:11:16 > 0:11:19Eventually, you get to the point where they haven't even pushed us.

0:11:19 > 0:11:22We just choose to go and we choose to do these things.

0:11:22 > 0:11:25Family means everything to us and back home,

0:11:25 > 0:11:29we try to get all 14 of us together once a week.

0:11:29 > 0:11:37# Jesus wants me for a sunbeam to shine for him each day... #

0:11:37 > 0:11:39With Rachel leaving soon,

0:11:39 > 0:11:43this will be one of our last WHOLE family get-togethers.

0:11:43 > 0:11:45# ..At home, at school, at play... #

0:11:47 > 0:11:50Tonight, we're all making paper chains for Rachel's wedding.

0:11:50 > 0:11:53CHATTER AND NOISE

0:11:53 > 0:11:58Now, something important is happening. Who knows what it is?

0:11:58 > 0:12:00Rachel's getting married!

0:12:00 > 0:12:03But what is happening the next day?

0:12:03 > 0:12:06- She's going to temple?- And what's going to happen in the temple?

0:12:06 > 0:12:08She'll be sealed.

0:12:08 > 0:12:10After their wedding in our church,

0:12:10 > 0:12:14Rachel and Charles will go to a special temple in England

0:12:14 > 0:12:17for a ceremony called being "sealed."

0:12:19 > 0:12:22We believe that families can be together for ever,

0:12:22 > 0:12:24even after we die,

0:12:24 > 0:12:26so Rachel is getting sealed to Charles

0:12:26 > 0:12:29and they will be sealed to their future children.

0:12:30 > 0:12:38It means that you're together for ever. Until... Yeah, for ever.

0:12:39 > 0:12:42It makes me feel special because I know

0:12:42 > 0:12:46when I'm in heaven, I'll be with my family.

0:12:46 > 0:12:48Rachel's going to get married to Charles

0:12:48 > 0:12:52and she's going to get sealed so we've made him a little link.

0:12:52 > 0:12:57Over the next few days, we go crazy for the wedding!

0:12:57 > 0:13:00There are loads of invitations to make

0:13:00 > 0:13:03and the whole of Dundee seems to be invited.

0:13:03 > 0:13:06It'll probably be just total chaos.

0:13:06 > 0:13:08We love getting our new shoes fitted.

0:13:08 > 0:13:11And Eva practises her dance moves.

0:13:11 > 0:13:12Oops!

0:13:12 > 0:13:14There's miles of bunting to be made,

0:13:14 > 0:13:16which is easier said than done.

0:13:16 > 0:13:19Erm, trying to make bunting.

0:13:21 > 0:13:25At the end of the day, you would think everyone would be tired

0:13:25 > 0:13:26and ready for bed!

0:13:27 > 0:13:30OK, are you going to get yourself ready for bed?

0:13:30 > 0:13:34- I don't want to, want to go in the bath!- Oh, you want a bath first, OK.

0:13:34 > 0:13:35Yeah!

0:13:35 > 0:13:38Getting our big family bathed

0:13:38 > 0:13:41and into bed is a tough time for my mum and dad.

0:13:41 > 0:13:43Get out!

0:13:43 > 0:13:47Jonas wanted to be in the bath but Jennifer got in first

0:13:47 > 0:13:49so that's why he's mad.

0:13:50 > 0:13:54The younger ones have a set bedtime but it doesn't ever work out.

0:13:54 > 0:13:56- Take the jeans off, let's get pyjamas.- No!

0:13:58 > 0:14:01You want to get to bed now? What are you up to?

0:14:01 > 0:14:03You fixing something?

0:14:03 > 0:14:06The bedtime routine is something we probably could work on a lot better.

0:14:08 > 0:14:12Bedtime is party time for the little ones, but not for us!

0:14:12 > 0:14:15The worst part of being in a big family is

0:14:15 > 0:14:19if the little ones don't get out enough in the morning

0:14:19 > 0:14:22or afternoon then at bedtime they just run around the house screaming.

0:14:33 > 0:14:36Charlotte thinks exercise at bedtime

0:14:36 > 0:14:38is a great way to wear the young ones out!

0:14:38 > 0:14:40I'm not so sure!

0:14:40 > 0:14:44Every night, I always get them to dance before they go to sleep.

0:14:44 > 0:14:46# Just dance Gonna be OK

0:14:46 > 0:14:48# Da-doo-doo-doo

0:14:48 > 0:14:49# Just dance

0:15:10 > 0:15:12Eva in Alice's bed,

0:15:12 > 0:15:14Rachel in her own bed,

0:15:14 > 0:15:18me and Jonas hanging out of Charlotte's bed,

0:15:18 > 0:15:21and Enos on the floor.

0:15:24 > 0:15:27And before we know it, it's a brand new day

0:15:29 > 0:15:31Annie. Annabelle.

0:15:31 > 0:15:33Good morning.

0:17:41 > 0:17:44(It's quiet as usual in our house

0:17:44 > 0:17:48(except I don't know what it would be like in Annabelle's house

0:17:48 > 0:17:51(because it must be really noisy there at night.)

0:17:59 > 0:18:01nothing like my house!

0:18:01 > 0:18:07What's it like being in a family with loads of children around?

0:18:07 > 0:18:13Well, the best bits are that you always have someone to talk to.

0:18:17 > 0:18:20- Do you have much time with your mum and dad?- Sometimes.

0:18:20 > 0:18:22But it doesn't really bother me

0:18:22 > 0:18:25because when I was little, I got attention.

0:18:25 > 0:18:27So the little ones get attention now.

0:18:27 > 0:18:31Do you ever wish you didn't have loads of brothers and sisters?

0:18:31 > 0:18:36Sometimes, but then I think if you don't have them

0:18:36 > 0:18:42it would really, really feel weird. You'd be like, "Where is everyone!?"

0:18:42 > 0:18:45- BOTH:- We have enjoyed our sleepover!

0:18:47 > 0:18:50There's only one day to go until Rachel's wedding

0:19:16 > 0:19:18Have you got rings to exchange?

0:19:18 > 0:19:20- Yeah.- OK, so who's going to hold your rings?

0:19:20 > 0:19:23So you pass the rings over, you'll exchange your rings.

0:19:23 > 0:19:27With so much to remember, it could all be a disaster!

0:19:27 > 0:19:30The little ones may not do what they're supposed to do.

0:19:55 > 0:20:00I think when it hits my mum, she'll be quite sad to see me go,

0:20:00 > 0:20:04I think. We do a lot of stuff together, so it'll be weird.

0:20:05 > 0:20:09This won't be her home any more. That's really weird.

0:20:09 > 0:20:13Spending her last night at home makes my big sister realise

0:20:15 > 0:20:18of her 11 brothers and sisters.

0:20:18 > 0:20:21Sometimes when you think of each individual one,

0:20:21 > 0:20:23it can be a bit overwhelming,

0:20:23 > 0:20:25how much you miss them.

0:20:27 > 0:20:31Each one has their own special things about them that you love

0:20:31 > 0:20:35and it's weird that they have little funny comments and their little

0:20:35 > 0:20:38funny things they do, they won't be in your life every day.

0:20:55 > 0:20:58Rachel's wedding day has finally arrived.
