0:00:11 > 0:00:15My name is Tanya Muzinda and I'm crazy for Motocross.

0:00:20 > 0:00:21In a few weeks' time,

0:00:21 > 0:00:26I'll travel over 5,000 miles from my home in Zimbabwe to England

0:00:26 > 0:00:29to compete in the biggest race of my life,

0:00:29 > 0:00:31in the UK Championship.

0:00:32 > 0:00:33It's going to be tough.

0:00:34 > 0:00:39But I will train as hard as I can to make my family and country proud.

0:01:03 > 0:01:07Some people think girls can't ride, but that's not true.

0:01:08 > 0:01:11I've been beating boys for years.

0:01:11 > 0:01:14It hurts the boys so much to lose to Tanya

0:01:14 > 0:01:16because she's just a girl and...

0:01:17 > 0:01:19Most people say that motorsport is for boys.

0:01:21 > 0:01:22She is competing against guys

0:01:22 > 0:01:25and, like, it really makes me, as a girl, like,

0:01:25 > 0:01:26"Wow, that's amazing."

0:01:28 > 0:01:29Before we start the race,

0:01:29 > 0:01:32some of the boys make fun of you and say,

0:01:32 > 0:01:33"What is she doing here?

0:01:33 > 0:01:35"She's supposed to be playing with Barbie dolls."

0:01:35 > 0:01:40But when I beat them and show them that no,

0:01:40 > 0:01:44I can still play with my Barbie dolls and still ride a bike.

0:01:49 > 0:01:53I figured you might be a young boy because you've done very, very well,

0:01:53 > 0:01:55but it's a young lady!

0:01:55 > 0:01:58Motocross is a very dangerous sport.

0:01:58 > 0:02:01I've got friends who've broken their collarbones,

0:02:01 > 0:02:02their hands, their legs.

0:02:02 > 0:02:04I mean, I've fallen plenty of times,

0:02:04 > 0:02:07but I've never, ever went to the hospital.

0:02:07 > 0:02:09You can get hurt doing anything,

0:02:09 > 0:02:12but that doesn't mean that you can stop doing what you love.

0:02:14 > 0:02:16Beating the boys has made me a household name

0:02:16 > 0:02:18in my country, Zimbabwe.

0:02:18 > 0:02:23And my mum keeps all the newspaper cuttings which are so embarrassing.

0:02:24 > 0:02:26This is me, being awarded

0:02:26 > 0:02:30as the youngest ever ambassador for the European Union.

0:02:30 > 0:02:33And this is one of my favourites,

0:02:33 > 0:02:37meeting the ten-times world champion Tony Cairoli.

0:02:37 > 0:02:39This is me in my favourite pink dress,

0:02:39 > 0:02:44winning the Zimbabwean International Women's Award.

0:02:44 > 0:02:48All around the world, people are starting to know me bit by bit

0:02:48 > 0:02:51and just the feeling that everyone comes to me

0:02:51 > 0:02:54and saying, "You're Tanya, please may I have a photo with you?"

0:02:55 > 0:02:57I sometimes feel like a celebrity.

0:02:57 > 0:03:00And it makes me feel very happy!

0:03:00 > 0:03:02CHEERING

0:03:10 > 0:03:12I couldn't have done any of this

0:03:12 > 0:03:14without my family, and here they are.

0:03:16 > 0:03:19That's my dad, my mum,

0:03:19 > 0:03:22my gogo, which means grandmother,

0:03:22 > 0:03:27my brother Jaden, sister Alicia, and cousin Delroy.

0:03:27 > 0:03:29And this is me.

0:03:35 > 0:03:37This is Zimbabwe.

0:03:37 > 0:03:39And this is where I live.

0:03:39 > 0:03:42Zimbabwe is in Southern Africa,

0:03:42 > 0:03:45which is an 11-hour plane journey to the UK.

0:03:46 > 0:03:49This is the capital, Harare.

0:03:49 > 0:03:52It is known as the Sunshine City.

0:03:52 > 0:03:57Just like most capital cities, it has skyscrapers and busy streets.

0:03:58 > 0:04:02But unlike most, it is also filled with animals.

0:04:02 > 0:04:06It has giraffes, zebras, buffaloes and lots more.

0:04:07 > 0:04:11I know that people fly thousands of miles from UK and Europe

0:04:11 > 0:04:13just to come and see these animals,

0:04:13 > 0:04:16but for me, it's just a 20-minute drive.

0:04:16 > 0:04:18# Don't you know, girl?

0:04:18 > 0:04:19# Don't you know, girl?

0:04:19 > 0:04:21# I am the one for you. #

0:04:21 > 0:04:25My friends, when they started knowing that I did Motocross,

0:04:25 > 0:04:28they were really shocked and surprised

0:04:28 > 0:04:31that I had spent years without telling them.

0:04:31 > 0:04:34And they were always asking me, "Aren't you scared?

0:04:34 > 0:04:35"Is it scary?"

0:04:35 > 0:04:39And they've come plenty of times to come and see me,

0:04:39 > 0:04:43and we do have times when we leave motocross

0:04:43 > 0:04:46and go out and get ice cream

0:04:46 > 0:04:50and just act like normal girls.

0:04:51 > 0:04:54Tawana's one of my best friends.

0:04:54 > 0:04:57And today, we're in our favourite part of town - Borrowdale.

0:05:00 > 0:05:02I look disgusting!

0:05:02 > 0:05:05No, delete it!

0:05:05 > 0:05:08There was a myth, I think it was just a school myth

0:05:08 > 0:05:13that if jacaranda falls on your head, you wish for something.

0:05:13 > 0:05:14Ah, OK.

0:05:17 > 0:05:20I wish for the new iPhone 8.

0:05:20 > 0:05:23I wish for the iPhone X.

0:05:27 > 0:05:30Perhaps what I should have wished for

0:05:30 > 0:05:31is to win the next race

0:05:31 > 0:05:34as things are about to get tough against the boys.

0:05:38 > 0:05:42Well, today we're here at the Zimbabwe National Championships,

0:05:42 > 0:05:44and I think it's a great practice for me

0:05:44 > 0:05:48to get myself ready for the upcoming races in the UK.

0:05:48 > 0:05:51Today I'm racing against the boys,

0:05:51 > 0:05:55and I really want to put on a good show and do my best.

0:05:55 > 0:05:58Emanuel is one of my closest rivals.

0:05:58 > 0:06:00Today, I'm going to be racing against Tanya

0:06:00 > 0:06:03and I think I'm going to beat her.

0:06:03 > 0:06:05I've been watching her every move

0:06:05 > 0:06:08so I know what she's going to do here and there.

0:06:10 > 0:06:13There are three heats in these championships.

0:06:13 > 0:06:15I'm the only girl racing.

0:06:24 > 0:06:27The first heat didn't go quite as planned.

0:06:27 > 0:06:28I got a puncture.

0:06:30 > 0:06:33You had an accident!

0:06:33 > 0:06:34- Are you tired?- Baba?

0:06:34 > 0:06:37Yeah? Yeah. Yeah.

0:06:37 > 0:06:42You see that inside, you see that, when you overtook that guy?

0:06:42 > 0:06:44You see he's going outside, you go inside.

0:06:44 > 0:06:46You keep up that pace.

0:06:46 > 0:06:49My dad is always on hand to give me advice,

0:06:49 > 0:06:53and my gogo comes to give me more support when she can.

0:06:53 > 0:06:55THEY LAUGH

0:07:01 > 0:07:04Things seem to be going from bad to worse,

0:07:04 > 0:07:07and I'm sure the boys are really happy about beating me,

0:07:07 > 0:07:10and I just hope that on the next race, I'll do much better,

0:07:10 > 0:07:12and I'm not going to give up.

0:07:14 > 0:07:18The final race was my last chance of getting a spot on the podium.

0:07:20 > 0:07:21The race is going well,

0:07:21 > 0:07:25and I'm in position for a podium finish, but then...

0:07:25 > 0:07:29A lapse in concentration turned out to be disastrous.

0:07:50 > 0:07:52I fell down in the corner,

0:07:52 > 0:07:55my leg wasn't out, and I had not leaned in for it,

0:07:55 > 0:07:57so I made a mistake.

0:07:58 > 0:08:02Falling off my bike was the worst thing that could happen.

0:08:02 > 0:08:05Although I got back up and finished the race,

0:08:05 > 0:08:07I missed out on the podium.

0:08:08 > 0:08:10Today was not my best national,

0:08:10 > 0:08:12but I'm sure the boys are really happy,

0:08:12 > 0:08:14but I'm not going to give up.

0:08:14 > 0:08:18It was fantastic, I got a bad start though,

0:08:18 > 0:08:22but then I managed to fight back to third,

0:08:22 > 0:08:25and I think Tanya finished fifth,

0:08:25 > 0:08:27but it was all good for me.

0:08:27 > 0:08:28She had bad luck.

0:08:45 > 0:08:47It's early morning,

0:08:47 > 0:08:51I just woke up and I'm feeling a bit sore from yesterday's race,

0:08:51 > 0:08:54I didn't have that much sleep

0:08:54 > 0:08:57because I was thinking about what happened yesterday

0:08:57 > 0:08:59and when I crashed.

0:08:59 > 0:09:03From that crash, I think something happened to my shoulder

0:09:03 > 0:09:05but I think I'll go and see my trainer,

0:09:05 > 0:09:08and hopefully by the time we go to the big race, I'll be fine.

0:09:11 > 0:09:15Every morning at eight o'clock, I head to the gym with my dad.

0:09:15 > 0:09:18It's a few minutes' walk from home.

0:09:18 > 0:09:21So the race yesterday, how did it go for you?

0:09:21 > 0:09:23It went well, I wouldn't say it was my best race.

0:09:23 > 0:09:27- Why?- Because the bike had problems and I also fell in the corner.

0:09:28 > 0:09:31- You fell?- Yeah.- How's the shoulder feeling today?

0:09:31 > 0:09:34Well, my shoulder is still a bit sore.

0:09:34 > 0:09:35- So a little bit sore.- Yes.

0:09:35 > 0:09:36But you can move it?

0:09:37 > 0:09:39If I move it, it's sore, I can feel something.

0:09:39 > 0:09:41OK, stand up, let's do this.

0:09:41 > 0:09:44Elbow at 90 and I want you to put pressure against my hand.

0:09:44 > 0:09:46Is that sore?

0:09:46 > 0:09:48- Yes.- OK.

0:09:48 > 0:09:49Touch where it feels sore.

0:09:49 > 0:09:51There.

0:09:51 > 0:09:52Nothing in here, hey?

0:09:52 > 0:09:54- No.- OK. That's good news.

0:09:54 > 0:09:56Good. External out.

0:09:56 > 0:09:58- That's not painful, hey?- No.

0:09:58 > 0:10:01Good. Just five of those, all right?

0:10:01 > 0:10:03Four, keep that elbow locked in.

0:10:03 > 0:10:05Last one. Five.

0:10:05 > 0:10:07OK, change. Y.

0:10:08 > 0:10:09T.

0:10:09 > 0:10:11W. Good.

0:10:11 > 0:10:14Squeeze... No, no, no, no, no, no, squeeze. Squeeze.

0:10:14 > 0:10:15Back to I. We're doing five.

0:10:15 > 0:10:18This, this is all good for postural control

0:10:18 > 0:10:20so one of the most important things for being on the bike

0:10:20 > 0:10:23is being able to stay on the bike, stay tall,

0:10:23 > 0:10:24stay strong. Push-up.

0:10:25 > 0:10:27Down. One.

0:10:27 > 0:10:29Two. Perfect. That's two.

0:10:29 > 0:10:33We know that the sports, motocross, it can be quite violent and it can,

0:10:33 > 0:10:35that bike wants to throw you off.

0:10:35 > 0:10:39It's good that she's learned how to fall, and that is hugely important,

0:10:39 > 0:10:41and the stuff that we looked at today

0:10:41 > 0:10:43was just to assess the level of pain

0:10:43 > 0:10:45through the different movement patterns,

0:10:45 > 0:10:47and it's a good sign today that she is feeling all right.

0:10:47 > 0:10:49We can never get away from injuries,

0:10:49 > 0:10:52it's just a case of, can we minimise the risk or the onset of it?

0:10:58 > 0:11:02As an athlete, I'm supposed to have a healthy diet.

0:11:02 > 0:11:03Which can be hard sometimes.

0:11:05 > 0:11:07I love spending time in the kitchen,

0:11:07 > 0:11:10cooking up my favourite meals with my mum.

0:11:10 > 0:11:12She's got potential, sometimes she...

0:11:13 > 0:11:17..searches for recipes and she comes, "Let's try this, Mum.

0:11:17 > 0:11:19"I think I like this one,"

0:11:19 > 0:11:23and we say, "Is it OK for your diet as well?"

0:11:23 > 0:11:28And we try it, sometimes it comes out nice, sometimes...

0:11:28 > 0:11:31THEY LAUGH

0:11:34 > 0:11:37Sometimes, you know, you just have to eat it

0:11:37 > 0:11:39because to impress her.

0:11:39 > 0:11:42THEY LAUGH

0:11:56 > 0:12:01With less than 24 hours before I leave for the British Championships,

0:12:01 > 0:12:04my friend Tawana is here to give me moral support.

0:12:04 > 0:12:07So what are you looking forward to when you get there?

0:12:08 > 0:12:11I'm really looking forward about the races,

0:12:11 > 0:12:16because it's, like, my first time racing against girls my age.

0:12:16 > 0:12:18What about the food, are you looking forward to,

0:12:18 > 0:12:21like, traditional English food?

0:12:21 > 0:12:25Yeah, I heard that fish and chips is popular there.

0:12:25 > 0:12:28- Yeah.- And I really want to try the fish and chips.

0:12:29 > 0:12:32So how do you, like, breathe in this?

0:12:32 > 0:12:34This is, like, really hard.

0:12:35 > 0:12:37And, like, really big.

0:12:37 > 0:12:39Well, as you see, it's really tight on the cheeks,

0:12:39 > 0:12:43but a trick that I saw to make it a bit more comfortable

0:12:43 > 0:12:47is you grab these two and then just push it aside

0:12:47 > 0:12:51- and then...- So more breathing space, OK.

0:12:51 > 0:12:54You can try it if you want to.

0:12:54 > 0:12:55Just pull them apart like this?

0:12:56 > 0:12:58Yeah.

0:12:58 > 0:13:00And then you just...

0:13:00 > 0:13:01Oh, yeah. It's gone on a lot easier.

0:13:01 > 0:13:06Yeah.

0:13:06 > 0:13:08Anyways.

0:13:08 > 0:13:09Just do it for Zimbabwe, OK?

0:13:09 > 0:13:11I will, yeah.

0:13:11 > 0:13:14So I'm sleeping on this bed so we need to take this bag off.

0:13:14 > 0:13:15OK.

0:13:18 > 0:13:20THEY GIGGLE

0:13:24 > 0:13:28I'm travelling to the UK with my mum and dad,

0:13:28 > 0:13:31leaving behind the rest of my family which is always hard.

0:13:34 > 0:13:35Are you going again?

0:13:35 > 0:13:39Yes, we are going, Bubba, so you have to say goodbye.

0:13:39 > 0:13:41- Bye.- Bye-bye, guys.

0:13:41 > 0:13:44All right. Bye, guys. Say, "Bye."

0:13:44 > 0:13:47Bye, guys. Bye, Gogo.

0:13:47 > 0:13:53- Bye-bye.- Bye. Bye.- Bye, guys. All right.

0:13:53 > 0:13:55Be a good boy. I'll bring you the toys.

0:14:05 > 0:14:11We're flying to Heathrow, and I've always wanted to visit London so...

0:15:18 > 0:15:21that I'd be this close to the Queen's house.

0:15:21 > 0:15:24I love the Queen because it's girl power!

0:15:25 > 0:15:30Goodbye, London. Now, it's time to focus on why I'm really here.

0:15:44 > 0:15:48It's really fun having Tanya in the house,

0:15:48 > 0:15:50and we get to watch, like, funny stuff,

0:15:50 > 0:15:53like motocross fails and try not to laugh.

0:15:55 > 0:15:56It's night-time,

0:15:56 > 0:15:58the night before the race,

0:15:58 > 0:16:00and I'm feeling a bit nervous

0:16:00 > 0:16:03so I think I might call my mentor, Stefy Bau.

0:16:03 > 0:16:10She's a former world champion, the four-times world champion, and yeah.

0:16:10 > 0:16:13- Hey, Tanya!- Hello, Stefy.

0:16:17 > 0:16:21Yes, I'm very ready, happy, but I'm a bit nervous.

0:16:21 > 0:16:24Yeah, well, you know, it's normal to be a little bit nervous

0:16:24 > 0:16:27but, you know, you can do this.

0:16:27 > 0:16:28If it rains,

0:16:28 > 0:16:30it is going to be really hard and slippery

0:16:30 > 0:16:32so I need some advice for that.

0:16:32 > 0:16:34The most important thing

0:16:34 > 0:16:37is always to squeeze the bike, remember?

0:16:37 > 0:16:41Always keep in mind that you have the ball between your knees.

0:16:41 > 0:16:43- Oh, yes.- Never let go, that's always important.

0:16:43 > 0:16:49And I believe in you, 100% so, you know, let's do this!

0:16:49 > 0:16:52Don't worry, Stefy, I will do my best!

0:16:52 > 0:16:54All right, that's my girl!

0:16:54 > 0:16:57- Yes!- Bye-bye, Tanya!

0:16:57 > 0:16:58Bye, Stefy, ciao!

0:17:00 > 0:17:02Speaking to Stefy made me feel so good

0:17:02 > 0:17:06because she is the best motocross female rider

0:17:06 > 0:17:10and it just feels good to have that word of encouragement

0:17:10 > 0:17:14from my mentor, coming from Stefy, it feels so good.

0:17:17 > 0:17:20All that is left now is for me to get a good night's sleep

0:17:20 > 0:17:24and give it 100% tomorrow.

0:17:24 > 0:17:26May you give us a peaceful night.

0:17:26 > 0:17:31Tomorrow, may you protect her as she races.

0:17:31 > 0:17:33Give her strength to make it.

0:17:35 > 0:17:36Amen.

0:17:38 > 0:17:40Sweet dreams, eh?

0:17:40 > 0:17:42Hm. Same to you.

0:17:44 > 0:17:47When I'm riding my bike and I'm going really fast,

0:17:47 > 0:17:49I can feel the wind blowing through my face

0:17:49 > 0:17:53and especially when I jump, it's an amazing experience.

0:17:53 > 0:17:57You can nicely see all the trees, the whole track,

0:17:57 > 0:18:00especially when it's a really, really high jump.

0:18:00 > 0:18:04Although sometimes you can get scared, like, "What if I fall off?"

0:18:04 > 0:18:06but fear's not supposed to stop you.

0:18:15 > 0:18:20Coming from Zimbabwe to England just to race is a bit intimidating

0:18:20 > 0:18:22because I've heard plenty of things

0:18:22 > 0:18:25that the girls in Europe are really, really fast.

0:18:25 > 0:18:29So I'm just hoping that I'll be in the top 20,

0:18:29 > 0:18:31and if I do better, we'll see.

0:18:31 > 0:18:34My name's Pippa and I've been riding the dirt bike

0:18:34 > 0:18:36since I was four years old.

0:18:36 > 0:18:40My name is Farren, and I've been riding for six years.

0:18:40 > 0:18:44I'm Ella, and I've been doing motocross for three years.

0:18:44 > 0:18:45I love it!

0:18:45 > 0:18:48These are some of my rivals on the track,

0:18:48 > 0:18:50but off the track, we're all friends!

0:18:50 > 0:18:52May the best girl win!

0:18:53 > 0:18:55My nerves for the first race

0:18:55 > 0:19:00are I feel like I have butterflies in my stomach.

0:19:00 > 0:19:05But my parents are giving me words of encouragement.

0:19:05 > 0:19:08Yes, because you are carrying Africa's hope here.

0:19:09 > 0:19:14You see? So we want to see your concentration always look ahead,

0:19:14 > 0:19:16squeeze the bike. OK?

0:19:17 > 0:19:19Keep focused.

0:19:21 > 0:19:23The nerves that I get while riding

0:19:23 > 0:19:28is when we're on the start gate and everyone is revving their bikes.

0:19:28 > 0:19:31It's 15 seconds, five seconds,

0:19:31 > 0:19:33we're all staring at the gate

0:19:33 > 0:19:38and I'll be just thinking that, "What if my bike switches off?

0:19:38 > 0:19:40"What will be my next move into the next corner?"

0:19:40 > 0:19:44BIKES REV

0:19:49 > 0:19:52The start, I think it was a good start, I think, yeah, but...

0:19:52 > 0:19:54I don't know what's happened on the corner there

0:19:54 > 0:19:58because she looks like she was slowing a little bit,

0:19:58 > 0:20:00I think she was maybe just being too careful.

0:20:00 > 0:20:01So let's see what happens.

0:20:13 > 0:20:14It's OK,

0:20:14 > 0:20:16she's at fourth now, she's riding fourth...

0:20:18 > 0:20:20..the first three riders, they're quite fast, hey,

0:20:20 > 0:20:23so I think maybe after the second heat or the third heat,

0:20:23 > 0:20:25I think she might be used to the track

0:20:25 > 0:20:27because this is a totally new track, you know,

0:20:27 > 0:20:30it's quite hilly, and, yeah, but she'll be OK.

0:20:30 > 0:20:31She, she, she's doing fine.

0:20:37 > 0:20:40I could see the first time she was quite scared, you know?

0:20:40 > 0:20:44Yeah, especially the first race with the other girls,

0:20:44 > 0:20:48this is a good step that we took, a very important step here,

0:20:48 > 0:20:49because Tanya is a girl

0:20:49 > 0:20:52so she needs to be used to be racing with the other girls.

0:20:52 > 0:20:56The first race was good and I came fourth position,

0:20:56 > 0:20:58and I wasn't expecting it.

0:20:58 > 0:21:01And I think I'll try and do better on the next race.

0:21:01 > 0:21:03The challenges were the hills,

0:21:03 > 0:21:06and I've never ridden on this track before

0:21:06 > 0:21:08so it was quite steep.

0:21:10 > 0:21:12I thought I'd finished in fourth position,

0:21:12 > 0:21:14but someone said I had to check

0:21:14 > 0:21:16so follow me, and let's check together.

0:21:17 > 0:21:21In motocross there's so many technical rules.

0:21:21 > 0:21:25The girl that finished third failed a technicality,

0:21:25 > 0:21:28which means I ended up third instead of fourth.

0:21:30 > 0:21:31It makes me feel very happy

0:21:31 > 0:21:36and that there might actually be a possibility of me on the podium

0:21:36 > 0:21:39on third position or maybe second next time.

0:22:07 > 0:22:09- What did you come?- I think I was fourth.

0:22:09 > 0:22:10If I didn't crash, I would've come...

0:22:10 > 0:22:12Fourth?! Fourth?! That's not bad!

0:22:12 > 0:22:14I would have come sixth if I didn't crash.

0:22:14 > 0:22:17- I think I was eighth.- I'll try and stay with you.

0:22:17 > 0:22:19- Oh, yeah!- Yeah, you've got to study them.

0:22:19 > 0:22:21Study her tactics.

0:22:21 > 0:22:22But I think Tanya done really well.

0:22:24 > 0:22:27With one race left in the day,

0:22:27 > 0:22:30I managed to better my position to third place,

0:22:30 > 0:22:34enough to keep me on track for a dream podium finish.

0:22:41 > 0:22:46Day two. I wake up focused and ready to give it my all.

0:22:46 > 0:22:48I finished third in race four,

0:22:48 > 0:22:50meaning it would come down to the final race

0:22:50 > 0:22:52to get on the podium.

0:22:53 > 0:22:55- Hey.- Hi.

0:22:55 > 0:22:57How was your race?

0:22:57 > 0:22:59- It was good.- Do you know where you came?

0:22:59 > 0:23:01I think I was third.

0:23:01 > 0:23:02Third?! Wow!

0:23:02 > 0:23:06- What number did you?- I have no idea. - Me neither.

0:23:06 > 0:23:09I had a good start but then I stalled it,

0:23:09 > 0:23:13because I put it into neutral twice on the hill, so people went past me.

0:23:13 > 0:23:15All I saw is that you went round me like...

0:23:15 > 0:23:19- Covered me in mud!- First came past me, second came past me,

0:23:19 > 0:23:21then I went OK, where's third?

0:23:21 > 0:23:23And I looked behind me and it was you, I'm like, "Oh! Wow!

0:23:23 > 0:23:25"She's gone fast, this one!"

0:23:25 > 0:23:26Coming from Zimbabwe,

0:23:26 > 0:23:29how does it compare to the tracks, like, where you're from

0:23:29 > 0:23:31and the tracks here?

0:23:31 > 0:23:34Well, the tracks in Zimbabwe, we only have one track.

0:23:34 > 0:23:36Is that why you came to England?

0:23:36 > 0:23:38- Yes.- Do you like it here?

0:23:38 > 0:23:39- I love it!- Yeah.

0:23:39 > 0:23:42Do you race boys when you're at home?

0:23:42 > 0:23:45Yes, we have plenty of boys.

0:23:45 > 0:23:49When we race boys at the club, like, they don't like the fact

0:23:49 > 0:23:51that they get beaten by girls,

0:23:51 > 0:23:53so when they come off the track, they're all revving their bikes,

0:23:53 > 0:23:55getting all upset that they're getting beaten by girls.

0:23:55 > 0:23:59- Oh, yeah!- Is there anything that scares you at motocross?

0:23:59 > 0:24:01Like, you know, when you jump?

0:24:01 > 0:24:05And then something just doesn't go right in the air.

0:24:05 > 0:24:07- Start panicking...- Exactly!

0:24:07 > 0:24:10Yeah, I've been there! Quite a few times.

0:24:10 > 0:24:12Do you, like, crash badly or not really?

0:24:12 > 0:24:16- Once in a while.- Well, I crash badly all the time.

0:24:16 > 0:24:20Like, literally, I crash, like, literally every meeting.

0:24:22 > 0:24:23If you don't, like, get back on,

0:24:23 > 0:24:25then, like, you'll just be scared of it.

0:24:25 > 0:24:27I've never been to the hospital.

0:24:27 > 0:24:29Never?!

0:24:29 > 0:24:31Have you been to the hospital?

0:24:31 > 0:24:33Yeah, I've been to the hospital.

0:24:33 > 0:24:35Yeah, I have and all.

0:24:35 > 0:24:37If I ever come to Zimbabwe,

0:24:37 > 0:24:39you're going to have to let me go to your house.

0:24:39 > 0:24:40Yes, you should!

0:24:40 > 0:24:42We'll have to race at the tracks!

0:24:42 > 0:24:45# I hope when you take that jump

0:24:45 > 0:24:48# You don't feel the fall... #

0:24:48 > 0:24:50It's the final race of an amazing weekend.

0:24:50 > 0:24:52Finish fourth or better,

0:24:52 > 0:24:56and I would have achieved more than I could ever have hoped for.

0:24:56 > 0:25:00A podium finish in my first-ever UK Girls Championships.

0:25:00 > 0:25:02# Hope when the crowd screams out

0:25:02 > 0:25:04# They're screaming your name... #

0:25:04 > 0:25:07She really needs to stay on the bike,

0:25:07 > 0:25:10she needs to be on the bike for us to get the podium.

0:25:10 > 0:25:13# I

0:25:13 > 0:25:18# I did it all

0:25:18 > 0:25:21# I

0:25:21 > 0:25:26# I did it all

0:25:26 > 0:25:30# I owned every second that this world could give

0:25:30 > 0:25:32# I saw many places

0:25:32 > 0:25:34# The things that I did

0:25:34 > 0:25:37# With every broken bone... #

0:25:37 > 0:25:42I've done it! All that training and hard work has paid off!

0:25:42 > 0:25:43A third-place finish.

0:25:44 > 0:25:47I know, it feels great, because, you know,

0:25:47 > 0:25:49Tanya has carried the hopes of so many little girls

0:25:49 > 0:25:52and boys in Africa, you know?

0:25:52 > 0:25:54So, so it means a lot.

0:25:55 > 0:25:56And as you can see,

0:25:56 > 0:26:01that she's actually managed to, you know, get a podium position,

0:26:01 > 0:26:03you know, racing with the top,

0:26:03 > 0:26:08you know, female racers in the UK, it's actually a great achievement.

0:26:08 > 0:26:09- Well done!- All right!

0:26:09 > 0:26:10Ha-ha!

0:26:12 > 0:26:14All right! That's my girl! Right!

0:26:17 > 0:26:20# I owned every second that this world could give

0:26:20 > 0:26:24# I saw many places, the things that I did... #

0:26:25 > 0:26:28Being on the podium in Britain,

0:26:28 > 0:26:32it means that it's possible some sponsors can also help me

0:26:32 > 0:26:35because travelling to Britain from Zimbabwe,

0:26:35 > 0:26:37it's really long and expensive,

0:26:37 > 0:26:41so if I keep on winning in different countries,

0:26:41 > 0:26:46more sponsors will come along with Team Tanya and my brand will grow.

0:26:46 > 0:26:47# Oh, oh-oh, oh-oh

0:26:47 > 0:26:48# Oh, oh-oh, oh-oh

0:26:48 > 0:26:51# With every broken bone

0:26:51 > 0:26:53# I swear I lived... #

0:26:53 > 0:26:56For Zimbabwe, it means that anything is possible,

0:26:56 > 0:27:00it doesn't matter where you're from, who you are, what you are,

0:27:00 > 0:27:03anything is possible and...

0:27:03 > 0:27:06It means that I've also raised the Zimbabwean flag high.

0:27:07 > 0:27:11For my parents, it means that we didn't travel for nothing,

0:27:11 > 0:27:15they put a lot of sacrifice in this, and this is my...

0:27:16 > 0:27:18..my present to say thank you for all the support

0:27:18 > 0:27:20that you've given to me,

0:27:20 > 0:27:22and I hope that one day, I'll pay them back

0:27:22 > 0:27:25for all the sacrifices that they did for me.

0:27:25 > 0:27:28# Oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh, oh

0:27:28 > 0:27:29# Oh-oh, oh-oh

0:27:29 > 0:27:31# Oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh, oh

0:27:31 > 0:27:33# Oh-oh, oh-oh I swear I lived

0:27:33 > 0:27:35# Oh-oh, oh-oh, oh-oh, oh

0:27:35 > 0:27:36# Oh-oh, oh-oh

0:27:36 > 0:27:38# Oh, oh-oh, oh-oh

0:27:38 > 0:27:40# Oh, oh-oh, oh-oh. #
