0:02:26 > 0:02:31# Let's take a chance let's fall in love. #

0:02:31 > 0:02:35But Karen's decided to give Jordan a second chance.

0:02:35 > 0:02:39She wants seen who has the best chemistry with the leading lady.

0:02:39 > 0:02:42# I've got a feeling... #

0:02:52 > 0:02:53- BOTH:- # But I adore you

0:02:53 > 0:02:58# So strong for you

0:02:58 > 0:03:00# Why go on stalling

0:03:00 > 0:03:02# I'm falling, love is calling

0:03:02 > 0:03:04# Why be shy?

0:03:04 > 0:03:11# Let's fall in love why shouldn't we fall in love?

0:03:11 > 0:03:12# Now is the time for it

0:03:12 > 0:03:16# While we are young let's fall in love. #

0:03:16 > 0:03:18Max doesn't look too happy,

0:03:18 > 0:03:22but watching your girlfriend and your best mate singing

0:03:22 > 0:03:26Let's Fall In Love, who would be?

0:03:26 > 0:03:30Jade, there was very nearly an arm came up to reach with Jordan,

0:03:30 > 0:03:32it was nearly there, but because Max is here

0:03:32 > 0:03:34you thought better of it.

0:03:34 > 0:03:38- Shall I leave and you do it again? - No, acting, acting through song.

0:03:38 > 0:03:40I know, I know.

0:03:40 > 0:03:43Now it's Max's turn.

0:03:43 > 0:03:45# Let's fall in love

0:03:45 > 0:03:48# Why shouldn't we fall in love

0:03:48 > 0:03:50# Now is the time for it while we are young

0:03:50 > 0:03:53# Let's fall in love. #

0:03:53 > 0:03:55Is Jordan actually loving how awkward it's getting?

0:03:55 > 0:03:58# Let's fall in love... #

0:03:58 > 0:04:02With the audition over, Karen has concerns.

0:04:02 > 0:04:04OK, I now have to tell you what worries me.

0:04:04 > 0:04:07There was a better chemistry with you two

0:04:07 > 0:04:11because it didn't matter, you could act and you could pretend

0:04:11 > 0:04:14and you could reach for each other and touch.

0:04:14 > 0:04:17But you two found it hard to make eye contact,

0:04:17 > 0:04:20OK, so that might be helping my decision,

0:04:20 > 0:04:25you're nervous to actually show each other that you care

0:04:25 > 0:04:27for fear of what friends will say,

0:04:27 > 0:04:30- for fear of what we're thinking. - Holding you back.

0:04:30 > 0:04:33So what's worrying me now is that's now holding you back.

0:04:33 > 0:04:36So Karen has a tough decision to make

0:04:36 > 0:04:40and it's bound to upset one of the three best friends.

0:04:40 > 0:04:43It's hard when you're acting and Max is staring.

0:04:43 > 0:04:46There were little bits where we were going to hug each other

0:04:46 > 0:04:48and reach for each other and then you see Max

0:04:48 > 0:04:51and you're like, "No, let's not do that."

0:04:51 > 0:04:55If I had to choose I think it would be Jordan,

0:04:55 > 0:04:58only because it's not awkward.

0:05:00 > 0:05:04I don't want to offend Max though, but I just think

0:05:04 > 0:05:09it's so awkward and I think it's so much easier to sing with Jordan.

0:05:12 > 0:05:16Jade seems to have her mind made up, but now it's all down to Karen.

0:05:16 > 0:05:21In just a few days she'll decide who will get this dream role,

0:05:21 > 0:05:23so will it be Max or Jordan?

0:05:28 > 0:05:31This school encourages competition and ambition,

0:05:31 > 0:05:35and no-one's more ambitious than year ten golden-boy Tyler.

0:05:35 > 0:05:39Everyone wants to be number one, to be the next Johnny Depp,

0:05:39 > 0:05:42Angelina Jolie, or they want to be the next Rhianna.

0:05:42 > 0:05:45Everyone here are working very, very hard

0:05:45 > 0:05:47for this opportunity to become big.

0:05:47 > 0:05:50With so many people wanting to become famous,

0:05:50 > 0:05:54the school teaches its pupils to be triple threat performers.

0:05:54 > 0:05:57A triple threat is where you can sing, dance, and act.

0:05:57 > 0:06:01For Tyler, being triple threat is already starting to pay off.

0:06:01 > 0:06:05I've worked a lot as an actor, I got a job in a short film called

0:06:05 > 0:06:08Monsters and Rabbits, then I got two years in the West End Oliver.

0:06:08 > 0:06:11Most recently, I've done a TV series called Camelot.

0:06:11 > 0:06:15As well as being an actor, singer, and dancer,

0:06:15 > 0:06:18Tyler is also aiming to be one of the world's youngest stuntmen.

0:06:18 > 0:06:20My dad is a stuntman, he got me into the business

0:06:20 > 0:06:24and introduced me to all these people, actors and stuff.

0:06:24 > 0:06:29I've done sword fighting and horse riding, that kind of stuff.

0:06:29 > 0:06:32Tyler is a big talent, but in this school

0:06:32 > 0:06:35it's not enough to be a perfect performer.

0:06:35 > 0:06:39Each pupil has to keep up with all their regular schoolwork too,

0:06:39 > 0:06:44which Tyler admits he has not been doing lately.

0:06:44 > 0:06:48Over the past few weeks, Tyler has been turning up late for class

0:06:48 > 0:06:50and picking up lots of de-merits.

0:06:50 > 0:06:55This earned him a detention from headmaster Mr Vote

0:06:55 > 0:06:58but Tyler didn't turn up.

0:07:00 > 0:07:05It's the day after detention and Mr Vote is on the warpath

0:07:05 > 0:07:10with his sights set firmly on detention-dodger Tyler.

0:07:10 > 0:07:15Tyler, would you like to see me after assembly, please,

0:07:15 > 0:07:16before you go downstairs.

0:07:16 > 0:07:19The school takes discipline very seriously

0:07:19 > 0:07:22and if Tyler is going to achieve his dream of becoming a star

0:07:22 > 0:07:25then he needs to start following some rules.

0:07:25 > 0:07:27- Last night...- Yeah.

0:07:27 > 0:07:31Er... I sort of forgot.

0:07:31 > 0:07:33I kind of ended up in the art gallery

0:07:33 > 0:07:37and realised when I got home I was meant to be with you.

0:07:37 > 0:07:40- Not good.- No, I'm sorry.

0:07:40 > 0:07:46Not good. Next Wednesday afternoon 4:30, Mr Vote, detention.

0:07:46 > 0:07:48Mr Vote has given Tyler one last chance

0:07:48 > 0:07:52to prove he's learned his lesson and attend his detention.

0:07:52 > 0:07:57But after his talking to, Tyler still seems fairly relaxed.

0:07:57 > 0:07:59I forgot all about it.

0:08:00 > 0:08:02It's cool.

0:08:02 > 0:08:04If Tyler forgets next time

0:08:04 > 0:08:07it definitely won't be cool with Mr Vote.

0:08:07 > 0:08:09# Now, now, now come on... #

0:08:09 > 0:08:12With the end of year gala just weeks away,

0:08:12 > 0:08:15every pupil at the school is fighting for a role.

0:08:17 > 0:08:22Alex left his home town behind him to follow his dreams at stage school.

0:08:22 > 0:08:26In my town there wasn't much to do, but there was a dance school

0:08:26 > 0:08:28and that's what I did, I was one of a kind sort of thing.

0:08:28 > 0:08:31It was just pushing something I loved

0:08:31 > 0:08:35and I learned that it was way out of a circle that I hated,

0:08:35 > 0:08:37I took that road and I'm having the time of my life.

0:08:37 > 0:08:41Alex is desperate to prove he's ready for a lead role in the gala.

0:08:41 > 0:08:46I would say I am quite competitive, but I'd say I'm driven as well.

0:08:46 > 0:08:50I want it so bad, I want to become something.

0:08:50 > 0:08:52I don't really want to settle for less.

0:08:52 > 0:08:56For today's audition only a handful of pupils

0:08:56 > 0:09:01will be chosen from the entire year, so the pressure is on big time.

0:09:01 > 0:09:04So from here, I need to set this first section now.

0:09:04 > 0:09:08The audition is being taken by top choreographer Mark Webb.

0:09:08 > 0:09:11Used to working with superstars like Beyonce and Robbie Williams,

0:09:11 > 0:09:13he expects the very best from his pupils.

0:09:13 > 0:09:16Over 16 years of being in the business,

0:09:16 > 0:09:20I've seen some amazing things, worked with the best.

0:09:20 > 0:09:22I've worked with Blue, Steps, Take That,

0:09:22 > 0:09:27Girls Aloud, Boyzone, Destiny's Child, the list goes on.

0:09:27 > 0:09:32One and four-four, one and four-four, watch that, yeah?

0:09:32 > 0:09:34Boom boom. It's hot, it's rock 'n' roll.

0:09:34 > 0:09:36To be a great dancer,

0:09:36 > 0:09:38I think number one thing is dedication

0:09:38 > 0:09:40so I expect that from them.

0:09:40 > 0:09:42If I say be here at 9am

0:09:42 > 0:09:44that means 8:30 practising what we did the day before.

0:09:44 > 0:09:47Passion, want to be here, want to do it,

0:09:47 > 0:09:51with them two things I think you can achieve anything,

0:09:51 > 0:09:52anything in life really.

0:09:52 > 0:09:54All of us are front-runners, let's go.

0:09:54 > 0:09:59- Want to be the best, yes?- ALL:- Yes.

0:09:59 > 0:10:04Want to be the best though serious, want to be the best. Here we go!

0:10:04 > 0:10:07Mark gives the class and an hour to perfect the routine

0:10:07 > 0:10:10just as he would with his professional dancers.

0:10:10 > 0:10:14If they can't pick up the moves this quickly, they've got no chance.

0:10:14 > 0:10:18Pull. Lock. Lock. Boom-boom, hit-hit, stop.

0:10:18 > 0:10:21Head circle, stop, hip, hip.

0:10:21 > 0:10:24Tuck-tuck, out in, head-head,

0:10:24 > 0:10:28push-push, head, boom-boom, yeah man, yeah.

0:10:28 > 0:10:30Tighter, it's got to be tighter.

0:10:30 > 0:10:32I don't want to see one arm out, yeah?

0:10:32 > 0:10:35People lagging behind.

0:10:35 > 0:10:37So is Alex keeping up?

0:10:37 > 0:10:39It's very high impact, high energy,

0:10:39 > 0:10:43and I think that's what Mark is trying to capture with this number.

0:10:43 > 0:10:46- Up-down, slide hip. - He'll tell you if it's wrong.

0:10:46 > 0:10:47He'll tell you if it's right,

0:10:47 > 0:10:51but more often than not he'll tell you it's wrong.

0:10:51 > 0:10:52# It's gonna get it's gonna get

0:10:52 > 0:10:53# It's gonna get louder

0:10:53 > 0:10:56# We're gonna get we're gonna get

0:10:56 > 0:10:58# We're gonna get stronger

0:10:58 > 0:11:00# We're gonna feel, gonna feel gonna feel better

0:11:00 > 0:11:04# You can't turn this energy inside... #

0:11:04 > 0:11:08It's got to be massive, it's got to be big and crazy.

0:11:08 > 0:11:10Ba-ba ba-ba ja-ga ah!

0:11:10 > 0:11:13Right, late every time, it's got to be sharp, guys.

0:11:13 > 0:11:15Stop thinking about yourselves

0:11:15 > 0:11:18and think about the group as a whole.

0:11:18 > 0:11:20It's like a football team,

0:11:20 > 0:11:23the defence play bad, forwards won't get a chance to score.

0:11:23 > 0:11:26It's crunch time, Mark splits the class into groups

0:11:26 > 0:11:28so he can look at each performer.

0:11:29 > 0:11:34Which means, for Alex, every single move has to be perfect.

0:11:37 > 0:11:40Absolutely rubbish, it was rubbish.

0:11:40 > 0:11:44Right one more, come on, one more with counts.

0:11:44 > 0:11:47At the crucial moment, Alex has messed up.

0:11:47 > 0:11:50Now he has one final chance to save the audition.

0:11:50 > 0:11:52MUSIC PLAYS

0:11:56 > 0:11:59But he misses the moves again.

0:12:01 > 0:12:03I am frustrated, I don't want to be second-best

0:12:03 > 0:12:05because I'm not here to be second-best,

0:12:05 > 0:12:07I'm here to be the best.

0:12:07 > 0:12:09And when that's not happening, I feel stupid.

0:12:09 > 0:12:12Gutted with his performance,

0:12:12 > 0:12:15Alex tries to convince Mark he can do better.

0:12:15 > 0:12:18- I just wanted to apologise. - Yeah, don't worry, man,

0:12:18 > 0:12:20you'll be all right, we'll get it together.

0:12:20 > 0:12:23Has Alex done enough for a place in the gala?

0:12:23 > 0:12:26There's nothing he can do now but wait.

0:12:26 > 0:12:30- I love you all, have a lovely day. - ALL:- Thank you.

0:12:30 > 0:12:33God bless. Thank you!

0:12:36 > 0:12:41Starting at any school can be scary, but imagine how scary it must be

0:12:41 > 0:12:43when the pupils around you have this much talent.

0:12:45 > 0:12:49New girl Paris recently had her first day at school.

0:12:50 > 0:12:53When I first got here I was really nervous

0:12:53 > 0:12:55that I wouldn't make any friends.

0:12:55 > 0:12:59I looked at everyone in their groups and I thought I'm never going

0:12:59 > 0:13:03to make friends here because they've already made groups ages ago.

0:13:03 > 0:13:06And then Georgia and Molly helped me.

0:13:06 > 0:13:09What was it like on your first day?

0:13:09 > 0:13:14- On your first day...- I came into the lockers and I was just like,

0:13:14 > 0:13:17- "Can I go home now?" - Then you came over to get changed

0:13:17 > 0:13:21and I said, "What's your name?" and you were like, "Paris"

0:13:21 > 0:13:25and I was like, "OK, I'm Georgia", and you were like, "OK."

0:13:25 > 0:13:27Do you feel settled in

0:13:27 > 0:13:32or do you feel like you're still really pretty new?

0:13:32 > 0:13:35Do people still call you "new girl"?

0:13:35 > 0:13:37Not that I know of, unless it's behind my back.

0:13:37 > 0:13:41'Paris is becoming a really good friend of mine,'

0:13:41 > 0:13:44we're like that right now and it's me,

0:13:44 > 0:13:47Molly, and her, just like all best of friends.

0:13:47 > 0:13:48She's a really good friend.

0:13:48 > 0:13:52Me, Molly, and Georgia are so alike in some ways

0:13:52 > 0:13:55and it's just like we're meant to be best friends.

0:13:55 > 0:13:57We've even decided,

0:13:57 > 0:14:01even though it's a bit early, to move to LA when we're 18.

0:14:01 > 0:14:05Yeah, we're talking about moving to LA together.

0:14:05 > 0:14:09We've already been searching for houses and everything.

0:14:11 > 0:14:14Paris came to stage school as a singer.

0:14:14 > 0:14:16Let's have a bit of Who Will Buy.

0:14:16 > 0:14:20# Who will buy my sweet red roses

0:14:20 > 0:14:23# Two blooms for a penny... #

0:14:23 > 0:14:29And it's clear that everybody here is impressed so far.

0:14:29 > 0:14:32# ..two blooms for a penny. #

0:14:32 > 0:14:34Great.

0:14:34 > 0:14:37But although Paris may have the singing sorted,

0:14:37 > 0:14:40if she's going to get the dream house in America

0:14:40 > 0:14:44then she still needs to improve in her other classes.

0:14:44 > 0:14:48In her first week, Karen had to help Paris with her high kicks.

0:14:48 > 0:14:51I did it, I got confused on which way to go.

0:14:51 > 0:14:54OK, you need to stretch your feet, you've got to work on that

0:14:54 > 0:14:56and then next time we'll work on your arms as well,

0:14:56 > 0:14:59OK, one more step to go through.

0:14:59 > 0:15:02So she may have made progress making friends,

0:15:02 > 0:15:04but can the same be said for her dancing?

0:15:04 > 0:15:09Since I came here, the first time I was really bad at kicks,

0:15:09 > 0:15:12I couldn't even lift it up to my hand,

0:15:12 > 0:15:16but then now I practise at home in the garden all the time,

0:15:16 > 0:15:18I think I've really improved.

0:15:18 > 0:15:21I'm a bit nervous because of all the other people,

0:15:21 > 0:15:24they're doing really good kicks.

0:15:24 > 0:15:28Last time I was watching them it was like, "I will never do that."

0:15:28 > 0:15:30So now can I have some presentation?

0:15:30 > 0:15:31The dance lesson begins

0:15:31 > 0:15:35and will practice in the garden be enough to get her through?

0:15:35 > 0:15:37Supporting legs, please!

0:15:37 > 0:15:41Think about it, five, six, seven, and one...

0:15:41 > 0:15:44With her new friends watching on, it's Paris's turn.

0:15:44 > 0:15:47One, three, five, six, seven, eight.

0:15:47 > 0:15:51One, two, stretch! Good girl, OK.

0:15:51 > 0:15:53Guys, I'm going to use you as the teachers.

0:15:53 > 0:15:56Paris hasn't been with us very long, I'm going to ask Paris

0:15:56 > 0:15:58to do two straight kicks for me

0:15:58 > 0:16:01and you show me how you could help Paris by correcting her.

0:16:01 > 0:16:05So if we step on your right foot, so step,

0:16:05 > 0:16:07kick, step kick, OK, stop.

0:16:07 > 0:16:11What can I correct, what was wrong there, yes?

0:16:11 > 0:16:14Don't lean forward, don't roll on your toes when you kick.

0:16:14 > 0:16:16Good girl, well done.

0:16:16 > 0:16:19Now you've been here some of you right from year seven

0:16:19 > 0:16:21and Paris has only just joined us,

0:16:21 > 0:16:23so with all your knowledge and wisdom,

0:16:23 > 0:16:27please help her because you just have done already.

0:16:27 > 0:16:29Well done, guys, excellent work.

0:16:29 > 0:16:32So Paris still hasn't quite got the hang of the high kick,

0:16:32 > 0:16:34but she's determined to get it right.

0:16:34 > 0:16:37I'm not as good as I want to be.

0:16:37 > 0:16:40I want to be able to really lift my legs up,

0:16:40 > 0:16:42but I'm getting there slowly.

0:16:42 > 0:16:46It feels really good just to know that my friends are there

0:16:46 > 0:16:48to help me with my kicks,

0:16:48 > 0:16:51knowing which leg to start on and which one to do.

0:16:51 > 0:16:54If Paris is going to become the LA star she dreams of,

0:16:54 > 0:16:58mastering the high kick is only just the beginning.

0:17:01 > 0:17:05It's detention time and once again headmaster Mr Vote

0:17:05 > 0:17:10is waiting in an empty classroom, but is Tyler going to show?

0:17:16 > 0:17:19- Ah, hello, Tyler.- Hi, Mr Vote.

0:17:19 > 0:17:22I really do not know what detentions are made of,

0:17:22 > 0:17:25I'm not really looking forward to it, but I've got to do it.

0:17:25 > 0:17:27I would like for you to think about

0:17:27 > 0:17:29and to write me a short essay about the game plan

0:17:29 > 0:17:32for the future, what my goals are short and long term,

0:17:32 > 0:17:36and what I think I'm going to have to do to get there.

0:17:36 > 0:17:42Tyler wants it all, stuntman, pop star, dancer, actor,

0:17:42 > 0:17:45so at least detention has given him the chance

0:17:45 > 0:17:47to focus on how to achieve his goals.

0:17:47 > 0:17:50'I think it's good because instead of writing lines,

0:17:50 > 0:17:53'which'll dig into your mind and be going

0:17:53 > 0:17:56' "Don't do this again, don't do that again."

0:17:56 > 0:17:59'I think writing an essay makes your mind work a bit more.'

0:18:06 > 0:18:09At he end of the day, the kind of things you have got going for you

0:18:09 > 0:18:14at the moment, fabulous sort of potential, things like that.

0:18:14 > 0:18:16You've got so many good things

0:18:16 > 0:18:21you've got to make sure that you don't miss out on the little things.

0:18:21 > 0:18:24Thank you very much, Mr Vote.

0:18:24 > 0:18:27- I hope not to see you here again. - Don't worry, you won't.

0:18:27 > 0:18:30So has he learned his lesson?

0:18:30 > 0:18:32Now I think I'll just think of the future

0:18:32 > 0:18:35because I've got my GCSEs coming up, I've got it all coming up

0:18:35 > 0:18:38and I've kind of got to just stop messing about.

0:18:38 > 0:18:43That will be my last detention of course, they all are.

0:18:47 > 0:18:51Up on the ninth floor of the building, Steve and Nina

0:18:51 > 0:18:54run the school's casting agency helping students like Tyler

0:18:54 > 0:18:56get auditions for all the top shows.

0:18:56 > 0:19:01I'm just very conscious that this is a really big audition.

0:19:01 > 0:19:03Nobody springs to mind right away,

0:19:03 > 0:19:07but if you e-mail me everything over, I'll have a good look at it.

0:19:07 > 0:19:10This is where casting directors from films,

0:19:10 > 0:19:14commercials, TV, and theatre come to find their stars.

0:19:14 > 0:19:17And it works. Ex-pupils include everyone from Sharon Osbourne

0:19:17 > 0:19:19to Naomi Campbell.

0:19:19 > 0:19:21Although they're at school,

0:19:21 > 0:19:23some pupils are already on the road to stardom.

0:19:23 > 0:19:25I've played Billy Elliot.

0:19:25 > 0:19:27- I've done commercials. - I was in Lion King.

0:19:27 > 0:19:29I did Harry Potter.

0:19:29 > 0:19:31..the Royal Variety Performance.

0:19:31 > 0:19:34Oliver Twist where I did singing, dancing, and acting.

0:19:35 > 0:19:37All right. See you later.

0:19:37 > 0:19:40One pupil waiting to hear about a part is Katie

0:19:40 > 0:19:43who's in her final year.

0:19:43 > 0:19:46Nina got her an audition for a new feature film,

0:19:46 > 0:19:48a tough drama set in London,

0:19:48 > 0:19:50and nothing could have prepared her

0:19:50 > 0:19:52for what the producers asked her to do.

0:19:52 > 0:19:54I had to beat box.

0:19:54 > 0:19:56I can't beat box to save my life,

0:19:56 > 0:20:00but I beat boxed and then I had to sing a song, I just sang a pop song.

0:20:00 > 0:20:04Then they asked me to read some lines of the character Steve, a boy.

0:20:04 > 0:20:09Today is Katie's 19th birthday, but all she can think about is the film.

0:20:09 > 0:20:13If she gets the role, it could change her life.

0:20:13 > 0:20:18My dream job would be acting in a film definitely,

0:20:18 > 0:20:19a massive worldwide film.

0:20:19 > 0:20:22Katie has been called to Nina's office.

0:20:22 > 0:20:26Could it be that she's going to star in her first ever movie?

0:20:28 > 0:20:30- Happy birthday. - Thank you.

0:20:30 > 0:20:33- Have you had a nice day? - Yeah, lovely.

0:20:33 > 0:20:36Good. Right, before we get on to that, how did your audition go?

0:20:36 > 0:20:38- Yeah, really well.- Good.

0:20:38 > 0:20:40We got there and there was two girls, one from here

0:20:40 > 0:20:43and one I didn't know, and then two boys.

0:20:43 > 0:20:45So the phone call that they've just given me then

0:20:45 > 0:20:48to say to you that the character of Steve is now going to be Stevie

0:20:48 > 0:20:51makes sense to you? Yay!

0:20:51 > 0:20:54- Are you actually serious? - Yeah.

0:20:54 > 0:20:56- Have I got the part?- Yes, well done.

0:20:56 > 0:20:59So against the odds, as Katie auditioned for a male role,

0:20:59 > 0:21:00she's got the part.

0:21:00 > 0:21:03So they're going to make the character Steve

0:21:03 > 0:21:07into Stevie, which is now a girl, so it's two girls and two boys.

0:21:07 > 0:21:08- I'm so pleased, well done!- Wow.

0:21:08 > 0:21:12- Brilliant, happy birthday, love. - Thank you.

0:21:12 > 0:21:14'I've just got a role in a film,'

0:21:14 > 0:21:16which is amazing, I'm so excited.

0:21:18 > 0:21:21I can't believe it, it's my first proper film

0:21:21 > 0:21:22and I don't know I'm just...

0:21:22 > 0:21:26I'm scared because it's my first acting role on screen,

0:21:26 > 0:21:28but, no, I'm really excited.

0:21:28 > 0:21:30Can't wait to tell everyone.

0:21:30 > 0:21:34Now it's time for Katie to tell her friends the good news.

0:21:34 > 0:21:39- Hello. You know I went to that film audition?- Yeah?- I just got it.

0:21:39 > 0:21:42THEY SCREAM

0:21:44 > 0:21:46Can you believe this?

0:21:46 > 0:21:48I know, I can't believe it.

0:21:48 > 0:21:51On your birthday, couldn't be a better day.

0:21:54 > 0:21:57And they're not the only ones she wants to tell.

0:21:57 > 0:22:00- 'Hello.'- Hello, Dad, are you all right?

0:22:00 > 0:22:02- 'Yes, fine.'- Guess what?

0:22:02 > 0:22:05- 'What?'- I got the film! - 'You got it?'

0:22:05 > 0:22:08- I've got the job, yeah. - HE LAUGHS

0:22:08 > 0:22:11'Excellent, excellent, well done. That's a start for you.'

0:22:11 > 0:22:13Good birthday present.

0:22:13 > 0:22:16Katie won't have long to prepare for her role

0:22:16 > 0:22:20as they want her on set within days, let's hope she can deliver.

0:22:23 > 0:22:25Elsewhere around the school,

0:22:25 > 0:22:29other pupils are waiting for their own good news.

0:22:29 > 0:22:33As the gala gets nearer, choreographers and teachers

0:22:33 > 0:22:36are choosing who will take part in which number.

0:22:36 > 0:22:41Alex had been desperate to impress top choreographer Mark Webb

0:22:41 > 0:22:44for a part in a routine called American Idiot.

0:22:44 > 0:22:47Absolutely rubbish. It was rubbish.

0:22:47 > 0:22:50But after feeling the pressure in the audition,

0:22:50 > 0:22:55Alex was left wondering whether he'd done enough.

0:22:55 > 0:23:00Mark has now chosen his final group and the all-important list

0:23:00 > 0:23:02goes up on the school notice board.

0:23:02 > 0:23:05- Are you in it? - I am! I can't believe I'm in it.

0:23:05 > 0:23:07If your name's up there you're in,

0:23:07 > 0:23:11if it's not then you won't be taking part in Mark's routine.

0:23:11 > 0:23:14And of the names on the board,

0:23:14 > 0:23:16Alex isn't one of them.

0:23:17 > 0:23:21The selection was made for the dancing, I'm not in it,

0:23:21 > 0:23:23but I'm going to lose any sleep over it.

0:23:23 > 0:23:25Never one to give up easily, Alex decides

0:23:25 > 0:23:28he's going to put all of his efforts into getting another role

0:23:28 > 0:23:30somewhere else in the gala.

0:23:30 > 0:23:33I might go on several numbers, some tap, some contemporary,

0:23:33 > 0:23:36some jazz, things like that, and some singing as well.

0:23:36 > 0:23:39I'm trying to get myself to be the best I can

0:23:39 > 0:23:41so I'll be represented in the best way.

0:23:41 > 0:23:43With the centenary gala just weeks away

0:23:43 > 0:23:48and only a few auditions left, time is running out for Alex.

0:23:55 > 0:23:59Two other students about to find out if they'll be performing in

0:23:59 > 0:24:03the school's biggest ever production are best friends Max and Jordan.

0:24:03 > 0:24:08After weeks of auditions, only one of the boys will be singing as Sinatra

0:24:08 > 0:24:11alongside Max's girlfriend Jade.

0:24:11 > 0:24:16Max was the better singer, but Jordan had the better chemistry

0:24:16 > 0:24:19so will it be the boyfriend or the best friend?

0:24:19 > 0:24:21It's time to find out.

0:24:21 > 0:24:25Jordan and Maximilian? Can I have a chat with you.

0:24:25 > 0:24:28I must do your theme.

0:24:28 > 0:24:31HE PLAYS FOREBODING MUSIC

0:24:31 > 0:24:34The moment has arrived.

0:24:35 > 0:24:37Over you come.

0:24:37 > 0:24:40After careful thought, Karen has made her decision.

0:24:40 > 0:24:42So we've been going over your auditions

0:24:42 > 0:24:44and you've both done outstanding,

0:24:44 > 0:24:47I'm really, really thrilled.

0:24:47 > 0:24:50We've taken lots of facts into consideration

0:24:50 > 0:24:55and we are now over here is going to be our Sinatra.

0:24:55 > 0:24:58So after all the anxious waiting, Max has won the part

0:24:58 > 0:25:01and will be singing with his girlfriend,

0:25:01 > 0:25:03but there's a surprise but Jordan.

0:25:03 > 0:25:06Jordan, you're going to be one of the dancers,

0:25:06 > 0:25:08- so is that good news?- Yes.

0:25:08 > 0:25:10I think it's really good news

0:25:10 > 0:25:13because it means now you're both in Sinatra

0:25:13 > 0:25:16so although you will be singing, you will be dancing.

0:25:16 > 0:25:21So it's good news all round, both boys get a part in the gala.

0:25:21 > 0:25:26- Max gets to sing and Jordan gets to dance.- Well done.

0:25:26 > 0:25:30Now the boys can finally go back to being best friends.

0:25:32 > 0:25:34- Are you sure?- Yes.

0:25:34 > 0:25:38And what better way to get the friendship back than playing a prank.

0:25:38 > 0:25:42- None of us got it, none of us got it.- Ha-ha, yeah.

0:25:42 > 0:25:45They're going to tell Jade the news,

0:25:45 > 0:25:48but pretend that neither of them got the part.

0:25:48 > 0:25:50CONVERSATION DROWNED OUT BY CHATTER

0:25:50 > 0:25:52WHAT!

0:25:55 > 0:26:00Pranks aside, Max is thrilled, but is his girlfriend happy?

0:26:00 > 0:26:02I am, I'm very happy.

0:26:02 > 0:26:04I think, yeah. I don't know, I just...

0:26:04 > 0:26:07I thought it was going to be Jordan so I think I'm quite shocked

0:26:07 > 0:26:10because I did think, "OK, so what am I going to say to Max

0:26:10 > 0:26:13"when me and Jordan are doing this part."

0:26:13 > 0:26:16I'm going over it in my head, "It's OK, don't worry,

0:26:16 > 0:26:18"I'm sure everything will be better,"

0:26:18 > 0:26:20and then he goes, "I got the part." I was like, "Huh?"

0:26:20 > 0:26:24So Jade's surprised and a little worried.

0:26:24 > 0:26:28I'm scared to do it with Max because I find it really awkward,

0:26:28 > 0:26:31but I think it will get better, I know it will get better.

0:26:31 > 0:26:34I just think at the start of it, a bit scared.

0:26:37 > 0:26:39So the parts are decided,

0:26:39 > 0:26:44Jade and Max will be singing a love song in front of the whole school.

0:26:44 > 0:26:47The question now is can the golden couple get over their awkwardness

0:26:47 > 0:26:50in time for the big night?

0:26:52 > 0:26:56In this school you're taught to never give up on your dreams,

0:26:56 > 0:26:57whether it's being the next

0:26:57 > 0:27:00George Sampson, Beyonce, or Daniel Radcliffe.

0:27:00 > 0:27:04Sometimes dreams come true and sometimes they don't,

0:27:04 > 0:27:07but it's better to dream big than never dream at all.

0:27:10 > 0:27:13Next time on School for Stars...

0:27:15 > 0:27:18..the pressure reaches boiling point as GCSEs begin.

0:27:18 > 0:27:19Action.

0:27:19 > 0:27:23And Katie finds out if she really has what it takes to be a movie star.

0:27:23 > 0:27:27My face on a giant screen is going to be rather funny.

0:27:27 > 0:27:31It's all part of life at the School For Stars.
