0:12:39 > 0:12:43and to see the way Derry has changed over the last couple of years

0:12:43 > 0:12:46and City of Culture, it's an incredible place

0:12:49 > 0:12:53to come to Derry for the Fleadh, they'll not be disappointed.

0:12:53 > 0:12:58There's a real buzz happening, so yeah, it's a bit different

0:13:21 > 0:13:23I came into a concert the other night and it was amazing.

0:13:23 > 0:13:27There was a great atmosphere in the city, and this morning

0:13:27 > 0:13:30when we arrived, because the crew were setting everything up,

0:13:30 > 0:13:32I just went out for a dander about,

0:13:32 > 0:13:35and there was a few people already playing music down on the riverfront

0:13:35 > 0:13:40this morning, a few kids, and it's just really healthy and good,

0:13:40 > 0:13:45and anybody who could even say that trad music is under threat,

0:13:45 > 0:13:48you know, maybe a lot of youngsters aren't playing it any more,

0:13:48 > 0:13:51if they came here this week,

0:13:51 > 0:13:54they would see a whole different side to that.

0:13:54 > 0:13:56I mean, it's completely flourishing.

0:13:56 > 0:13:59It's amazing. There was a little boy down yesterday playing a whistle

0:13:59 > 0:14:02and he must have been five. It's fantastic, you know.

0:18:12 > 0:18:13It went very well for us.

0:18:13 > 0:18:16We were happy enough with how the band played and all,

0:18:16 > 0:18:19so this is completely different now, to play on a stage.

0:18:19 > 0:18:21We were very happy with it.

0:18:25 > 0:18:28Hopefully it'll open new doors for us and we'll do it again.

0:18:28 > 0:18:30I think there's actually chat

0:18:30 > 0:18:33of looking for the band to go to Sligo next year for the Fleadh,

0:18:33 > 0:18:34so early talks at the minute,

0:18:34 > 0:18:38so the more people we can get it out to, to see what we're like,

0:18:38 > 0:18:45the better, so hopefully Sligo will be the start of that too, the South.

0:19:41 > 0:19:44We wanted to just pay tribute to the musicians from Derry,

0:19:44 > 0:19:48the musicians from the north of this island, really,

0:19:48 > 0:19:54that kept the music tradition alive during, you know, dark times, really.

0:19:54 > 0:19:58And there you go, that's another nice aspect to the Fleadh as well,

0:19:58 > 0:20:01that you have people like that, that I remember growing up.

0:21:41 > 0:21:44Feile Atha Cliath had it last time.

0:21:44 > 0:21:48We're taking it and it's coming back home to roost,

0:21:48 > 0:21:52here in Derry-stroke- Londonderry-stroke-Derry.

0:22:05 > 0:22:09From a fundraising viewpoint, you're always looking for new ideas,

0:22:09 > 0:22:11and it also tied in with the Fleadh,

0:22:11 > 0:22:13the fact that the Fleadh was in Derry,

0:22:13 > 0:22:17Irish dancing would be very much part of that culture

0:22:17 > 0:22:20and it just seemed to be a perfect fit.

0:22:27 > 0:22:31I just think this is an amazing coming together of people,

0:22:31 > 0:22:35and it's just amazing how music and the arts unite people,

0:22:35 > 0:22:38no matter what side of this river that you're on,

0:22:38 > 0:22:40and this Fleadh has been really something special.

0:23:17 > 0:23:20It was a very emotional thing, because to break a world record

0:23:20 > 0:23:22is not something you do every day of your life,

0:23:22 > 0:23:26and everybody there the day will remember the day they went to Derry

0:23:26 > 0:23:29and they stood in what used to be an army camp

0:23:29 > 0:23:32and danced and broke a world record. I think it's fantastic.

0:25:35 > 0:25:40What we have seen in this city over the course of the last week

0:25:40 > 0:25:44has been the most joyous, happiest,

0:25:44 > 0:25:49the most memorable event ever to be held in the ancient city of Derry.

0:26:00 > 0:26:06The proudest aspect, for me, anyway, of this Fleadh was

0:26:06 > 0:26:10the participation of representatives from the unionist community.

0:26:10 > 0:26:13I thought it was absolutely wonderful.

0:26:36 > 0:26:40As we bid farewell to the Fleadh, as it makes its journey to Sligo,

0:26:49 > 0:26:51have contributed to the cultural life of this city

0:26:51 > 0:26:55and to the path towards peace and reconciliation.
