0:14:07 > 0:14:09This could have been at the bottom of the sea

0:14:09 > 0:14:12and it didn't make it onto the ship in time.

0:14:14 > 0:14:17Gilbert Logan, who worked on the Titanic as an apprentice,

0:14:17 > 0:14:20was commissioned to manufacture the table. 70 years later,

0:14:20 > 0:14:24I was asked to come out to the Harbour Commissioner's office

0:14:24 > 0:14:26to replicate this table

0:14:26 > 0:14:28as a one-off piece for a client

0:14:28 > 0:14:32and I thought, "Now, what have I got myself into?"

0:14:32 > 0:14:34It was actually quite frightening.

0:14:34 > 0:14:38We had to manufacture it the way it was manufactured in 1912,

0:14:38 > 0:14:40with hand tools,

0:14:40 > 0:14:44and you start to take leaves out of it and wind the mechanism in

0:14:44 > 0:14:45and you're out by 5 mm,

0:14:45 > 0:14:48you're tearing your hair out.

0:14:48 > 0:14:50This all made me realise

0:14:50 > 0:14:53that it was probably Gilbert Logan's patience as a craftsman

0:14:53 > 0:14:56that saved this table from going down with the Titanic.
