:01:36. > :01:39.been counted and verified on behalf of the National Lottery. From seven

:01:39. > :01:43.categories we have seven worthy winners. We'll also have very

:01:43. > :01:47.special music performances from one of the hottest acts of the moment,

:01:47. > :01:55.Union J, and none other than rock legend Mr Rod Stewart! In the last

:01:55. > :02:02.19 years The National Lottery has generated a whopping £30bn for over

:02:02. > :02:05.400,000 projects throughout the UK. Our first award is for best arts

:02:05. > :02:12.project, and who better to present it than a star of stage and screen

:02:12. > :02:30.for the past three decades? Please welcome Jason Donovan!

:02:30. > :02:34.This year's first winner is a fantastic example of a community

:02:34. > :02:38.coming together to get their collective voice heard. And what a

:02:38. > :02:44.voice! The Misfits Theatre Company are a wonderfully charismatic group

:02:44. > :02:48.who all have learning difficulties. I was intrigued by the project and

:02:48. > :03:03.went down to Bristol to meet them Great

:03:03. > :03:21.rehearsing and they have absolutely no idea that I am here. Let's go

:03:21. > :03:32.upstairs. Sounds good. Fantastic! Congratulations! Come here. You are

:03:32. > :03:42.the winner of the best arts project. Congratulations. Misfits Theatre

:03:42. > :03:44.Company is a unique theatre company run by people with learning

:03:45. > :03:49.difficulties for people with learning difficulties to explore

:03:49. > :03:52.their own creativity. They can give out into the local community and

:03:52. > :03:57.tell the world what it is like having a learning difficulty, and

:03:57. > :04:05.show off and be the people that they are. You do more than perform. We

:04:05. > :04:07.show off and be the people that they have experienced bullying and

:04:07. > :04:16.name-calling in our lives, we want to change her sections of how we

:04:16. > :04:23.want to be treated. -- perceptions. How do you do that? Send out

:04:23. > :04:26.messages to organisations and schools to tell them that

:04:26. > :04:33.name-calling is not on. Today we were rehearsing for a play that I

:04:33. > :04:43.wrote myself. How would you feel if I played the Dragon? I can be angry.

:04:43. > :04:52.I like coming here because I like my friends and I like acting. There are

:04:52. > :05:14.characters I can become. Being part of Misfits is really

:05:14. > :05:22.awesome. I really enjoy coming here, acting and performing. I

:05:22. > :05:26.really love it. I have had a very special day with you so thank you

:05:26. > :05:42.for sharing it with me. Shall we take a bow? APPLAUSE.

:05:42. > :05:50.Hello, everyone. I would just like to say a big thank you to everyone

:05:50. > :05:59.that has voted for us. Our family, friends, everyone that works with

:05:59. > :06:04.us. It has meant such a lot to the Misfits and it also means a lot to

:06:04. > :06:09.me. I would like to say thank you very much to Jason for coming to

:06:09. > :06:17.Bristol and meeting us. He was amazing.

:06:17. > :06:23.Education, education, education. Some things are worth repeating. We

:06:23. > :06:26.all remember our favourite childhood book, mine was Ginger's Adventures

:06:26. > :06:30.by AJ Macgregor, and how those books fed our imagination. Inspiring a

:06:30. > :06:33.love of reading across generations, Seven Stories is the National Centre

:06:33. > :06:36.For Children's Books. Their mission is to save, share and celebrate our

:06:36. > :06:41.rich heritage of children's literature. When Mollie King from

:06:41. > :06:52.The Saturdays heard about it she couldn't wait to get to Newcastle

:06:52. > :06:56.and share their wonderful story. I'm here in Newcastle at the Place cold

:06:56. > :07:01.Seven Stories who have won the national lottery award. They have no

:07:01. > :07:13.idea that I'm here. I am so excited to meet them all. Let's go and do

:07:13. > :07:19.it. I am going in. The Raft glided smoothly over the water. I am here

:07:19. > :07:28.to tell you that you guys have won the national lottery award. I can

:07:28. > :07:37.believe it, I am absolutely thrilled. Thank you so much. -- I

:07:37. > :07:45.cannot believe it. I am dyslexic, I found reading really difficult. It

:07:45. > :07:51.is a big part to make reading more enjoyable. Absolutely. We have

:07:51. > :07:56.different exhibitions, we have this space where we have story telling

:07:56. > :08:00.and performance, we have a creation Station downstairs where you can do

:08:00. > :08:04.craft activities, and we have outreach work. It sounds like you

:08:04. > :08:10.have so much going on. I have to take a look around. The biggest part

:08:10. > :08:19.is creating a world for children, getting them to act and play, enjoy

:08:19. > :08:23.themselves. I made an animal puppet. My little girl gets loads out of

:08:23. > :08:27.it. She loves her books. It is worth coming. There is so much going on

:08:27. > :08:36.here you never know what you're going to see. What are you up to? We

:08:36. > :08:47.are sailing to a far-off land. Who is this? Dragon. My gosh! Have you

:08:47. > :08:52.had a good day? Yes.I am going to tell you a story. Once upon a time

:08:52. > :08:57.there were lots children just like you do realise how lucky they were

:08:57. > :08:59.to have a place like this right on their doorstep, and they all lived

:08:59. > :09:14.happily ever after. Congratulations. The podium is all

:09:14. > :09:21.yours. What a privilege. As you know, these are the most inspiring

:09:21. > :09:24.and inventive books in the world. With the help of the National

:09:24. > :09:26.Lottery we have created a home for children's literature in Newcastle.

:09:26. > :09:31.With this we hope we can share the children's literature in Newcastle.

:09:31. > :09:35.joy and love of reading with families and children not just in

:09:35. > :09:36.the north-east but across the UK. Thank you so much to everyone who

:09:36. > :09:47.voted for us. Rod Stewart will be performing on

:09:47. > :09:54.this stage soon but before that it's time for the Heritage Award. Here to

:09:54. > :09:56.present it, please roll out the red carpet and give a very special Royle

:09:56. > :10:16.welcome to Ricky Tomlinson. Hello! The last time I stood in

:10:16. > :10:21.front of a crowd like this I got two years in jail.

:10:21. > :10:25.Being an ex-builder I can truly appreciate how amazing the Gartnavel

:10:25. > :10:31.Chapel Cancer Support Centre in Glasgow truly is. But don't let me

:10:31. > :10:35.rabbit on, a couple of weeks ago I went to surprise them and had a look

:10:35. > :10:43.around. I think the film speaks for itself. I'm Ricky Tomlinson and I am

:10:43. > :10:49.here in Glasgow to prevent -- present this award. It is hard to

:10:49. > :10:54.believe this chapel was once a derelict shell. Thankfully it was

:10:54. > :10:59.restored and is now home to this charity. The volunteers are inside

:10:59. > :11:06.having a meeting. I think we should gate-crash. Come and join me.

:11:06. > :11:14.Welcome to Cancer Support Scotland. Thank you for turning out. Hello!

:11:14. > :11:22.You are not expecting to see me today. You don't know why I am here.

:11:22. > :11:24.Come here. I am here because you have won this very special award.

:11:24. > :11:35.You have won the Heritage award. It is absolutely brilliant to win

:11:36. > :11:38.this award. Without a building like this we cannot deliver the services

:11:38. > :11:45.we offer to so many people affected by cancer. I have had a good look

:11:45. > :11:48.around and as an ex-builder I am absolutely thrilled with the way you

:11:48. > :11:53.have renovated this place. It is wonderful. It is fantastic we have

:11:53. > :11:57.been able to bring a building back to use. The building when we walked

:11:57. > :12:05.into it was on a per estate. The building windows were boarded up and

:12:05. > :12:11.it was leaking. -- per estate. What we are doing is something very

:12:11. > :12:18.unique. We provide services, relaxation, comp entry therapies,

:12:18. > :12:22.support groups, other things. My dad died at the age of 55 with cancer

:12:22. > :12:28.but we never spoke about it. It is important people share their

:12:28. > :12:33.experiences. Tell me how Carnaval has helped you. I found I was

:12:33. > :12:40.released or killing with my diagnosis. -- Gartnavel. Coming here

:12:40. > :12:46.and being able to off-load things that I cannot say to my friends and

:12:47. > :12:54.family is really useful. Coming here was like a haven. Getting a mass

:12:54. > :12:59.as, forgetting what was going on. It is very expensive in the outside

:12:59. > :13:06.world. You get it free of charge. You don't have to pay anything.

:13:06. > :13:09.Congratulations to all here for the restoration work done on this old

:13:09. > :13:25.building and I think you all deserve a cheer. Hip hip, hooray!

:13:25. > :13:35.It looked like you had a wonderful day. I did. But looking at this

:13:35. > :13:39.person, I lost my dad. To see the youngsters helping out, doing the

:13:39. > :13:45.gardens. It was one of the best days out I have ever had. How does

:13:45. > :13:54.it feel, to be voted the Heritage Award winner? Is has been fantastic.

:13:54. > :14:01.One of the best aspects is that it has raised the profile of the

:14:01. > :14:08.Glasgow building federation trust. We are thrilled that so many people

:14:08. > :14:14.voted for us and we would like to say thanks for generating the votes.

:14:14. > :14:25.It is nice to see a winner from Glasgow. I am Glaswegian myself.

:14:26. > :14:28.Congratulations. It has been a great night there are plenty of

:14:28. > :14:32.celebrity surprises to come. Union J are performing later. But now,

:14:32. > :14:35.this is a man who has sold over 150 million records. From his platinum-

:14:35. > :14:47.selling album Time, he is singing Can't Stop Me Now. Ladies and

:14:47. > :14:51.gentlemen, Mr Rod Stewart. # I stood up straight and sang. For the

:14:51. > :14:58.record company man. My enthusiasm filled the room. I was young and I

:14:58. > :15:06.was keen. With a devil in my stream. As I hollered out an old blues tune.

:15:06. > :15:08.We can't sign you, son. Cos you don't fit in the mould. It's your

:15:08. > :15:14.We can't sign you, son. Cos you hair, your nose and your clothes. I

:15:14. > :15:23.said thank you gentlemen for this opportunity and moved on down the

:15:23. > :15:27.road. And I remember I used to say. They can't stop me now, the world

:15:27. > :15:30.is waiting. It's my turn to stand out in the crowd. They can't stop

:15:30. > :15:50.me now, the tide is turning. I'm gonna make you proud. So proud. It

:15:50. > :15:52.was rough and it was tough. But I couldn't get enough of this rhythm

:15:52. > :15:55.was rough and it was tough. But I and blues I craved. I was singing

:15:55. > :16:03.in the pubs, singing in the clubs. Then along came Maggie May. All the

:16:03. > :16:13.things they said to me and all the things I heard. I had a point to

:16:13. > :16:16.prove. I will climb this mountain with this God-given gift. If it's

:16:16. > :16:21.the last thing that I do. And I remember thinking. They can't stop

:16:21. > :16:26.me now the world is waiting. It's remember thinking. They can't stop

:16:26. > :16:41.my turn to stand out in the crowd. They can't stop me now the tide is

:16:41. > :16:48.turning. I'm gonna make you proud. They can't stop me now the world is

:16:48. > :16:52.waiting. It's my turn to stand out in the crowd. They can't stop me

:16:52. > :16:57.now the tide is turning. I'm gonna make you proud. Born to ramble.

:16:57. > :17:05.Born to sing in a new world of rock 'n' roll. One man in particular

:17:05. > :17:15.filled my heart with pride. And he fired up my soul. Thanks for the

:17:15. > :17:22.faith. Thanks for the patience. Thanks for the helping hand. Thanks

:17:22. > :17:43.for the love. Thanks for the guidance.

:17:43. > :17:46.Thanks for the tartan pride. They can't stop me now the world is

:17:46. > :17:50.waiting. It's my turn to stand out in the

:17:50. > :17:52.crowd. They can't stop me now the tide is

:17:52. > :18:18.turning. I'm gonna make you proud#. APPLAUSE. The next award is the

:18:18. > :18:23.favourite sports project. Here to present it, they truly

:18:23. > :18:27.inspirational sporting star, gold medal winner at the London 2012

:18:27. > :18:38.Olympics and were then MBE, Nicky Adams. -- Nicola Adams. This is a

:18:38. > :18:41.special award for me because I am president of the winning project,

:18:41. > :18:45.US Girls. And it fills me with pride to see them honoured tonight.

:18:45. > :18:47.In this film, one of my Team GB mates surprised them at a

:18:47. > :18:51.In this film, one of my Team GB in Manchester. I am Victoria

:18:51. > :18:56.Pendleton to surprise US Girls, which aims to get young women from

:18:56. > :19:01.disadvantaged areas more active. Sport has been a huge part of my

:19:01. > :19:14.life. I cannot wait to tell them they have made it on to the

:19:14. > :19:31.winner's podium. Here goes. I am here to award you with the National

:19:32. > :19:36.Lottery Sports Award. Well done! US Girls is a national programme aimed

:19:36. > :19:41.to get girls involved in sport and it works in 60 locations in England,

:19:41. > :19:47.mainly deprived communities, and the aim is to get girls who perhaps

:19:47. > :19:53.have not played sport before to play sport. I know nothing about

:19:53. > :19:59.football. Show me a drill and I will give it a go. Many have not

:19:59. > :20:03.have the opportunity to take part in sport. They have had low

:20:03. > :20:08.confidence, low self-esteem, and without the funding the programme

:20:08. > :20:13.would not exist. I am lucky because I grew up in a sporty household.

:20:13. > :20:17.Not many people are lucky enough to have the influence in the family. I

:20:17. > :20:21.suppose that is what you are providing. The leaders are so

:20:21. > :20:25.important. They have contact with the girls every day and that

:20:25. > :20:36.relationship makes them feel important and gives them a sense of

:20:36. > :20:41.achievement. Yd love coming here? I have a high functioning form of

:20:41. > :20:47.autism. I suffer from anxiety. I would not ordinarily anticipate in

:20:47. > :20:52.things. Because there is less pressure to socialise, I think I am

:20:52. > :20:58.able to do it and enjoy it at the same time. I gained confidence by

:20:58. > :21:02.coming here and I can take it into normal life, going to jobs, meeting

:21:02. > :21:10.new people. I do not feel as nervous. It is great. A massive

:21:10. > :21:15.congratulations to everybody at US Girls. It shows that with

:21:15. > :21:26.determination and focus, everyone can be a winner. Isn't that right?

:21:26. > :21:31.I am proud to be accepting the award. I would like to credit

:21:31. > :21:36.street games, the national charity who work with young people in areas

:21:36. > :21:41.of disadvantage. And US Girls was there to tackle the gender gap in

:21:41. > :21:49.sport. I would like to say a massive thank you to the coaches

:21:49. > :21:54.and volunteers involved. -- their work week in and week out to help

:21:54. > :21:58.girls to succeed. And I would like to thank the girls involved.

:21:58. > :22:03.Fortunately, they came out and voted for us and we are grateful to

:22:03. > :22:13.them and everybody who voted. Thank you. London 2012 Olympics and

:22:13. > :22:17.Paralympics were an amazing success. Team GB won its greatest medal

:22:17. > :22:19.total for over 100 years. National Lottery players contributed £2.2

:22:19. > :22:25.billion that went into staging the greatest show on earth. Your money

:22:25. > :22:27.made it possible for 1300 elite athletes to train full-time and

:22:27. > :22:34.benefit from some of the best coaching in the world. It was not

:22:34. > :22:37.all about sport, you also helped to fund the biggest national arts

:22:37. > :22:43.festival ever staged. One year on, the question is, what is the legacy

:22:43. > :22:47.of 2012 now? How has it inspired not just elite athletes but people

:22:47. > :23:02.like you and me? I think you will enjoy this.

:23:02. > :23:13.He has got to find something extra. I think he is going to get their!

:23:13. > :23:17.Two gold medals. Beautiful! The place erupts. He is the double

:23:17. > :23:31.Olympic champion. I was picked for the squad in

:23:31. > :23:42.Atlanta. Watching the Paralympics and able-bodied. It came back, we

:23:42. > :23:46.could still be doing that. Through lottery-funded disability sport we

:23:46. > :23:50.have been able to set up the basketball club. It is the best

:23:50. > :23:55.thing I have done since 1996. It got me back into sport. Sport gave

:23:55. > :24:02.me focus and gives me a purpose to get up in the morning. It makes you

:24:02. > :24:08.feel alive. They Lottery has funded by a London 2012 conditions. The

:24:08. > :24:11.Olympics and Paralympics gave me the opportunity to do projects I

:24:11. > :24:18.could not have believed could have been possible. I have had a lung

:24:18. > :24:23.condition. For the past six years I have been losing my eyesight. There

:24:23. > :24:27.are huge challenges. There is no doubt the Paralympics created the

:24:27. > :24:31.biggest cultural shift in disability in the whole of the

:24:31. > :24:36.world. We are individuals. It does not matter who you are. Everybody

:24:36. > :24:41.is important. Each individual has gone through a journey to get to

:24:41. > :24:47.where they are and for me, that is inspirational. To say it was a

:24:47. > :24:53.defining moment would be an understatement. For me, it felt

:24:53. > :24:59.like everything I ever work towards, ever -- every dream I had, it boils

:24:59. > :25:04.down to six minutes on the platform. I can remember every moment and all

:25:04. > :25:08.of the emotions, running wild. And the roar of the crowd, the details

:25:08. > :25:14.that will stay with me for the rest of my life. When you watch on TV,

:25:14. > :25:20.it inspires you. The first time I came here, there were a lot of

:25:21. > :25:25.tyres around the track. It was a small space. Now they have built a

:25:25. > :25:36.new track and more people are coming here. The aim is to become

:25:36. > :25:41.new track and more people are an Olympic athlete. The aim was to

:25:41. > :26:01.inspire a generation and I feel we have done that. I was inspired. I

:26:01. > :26:04.was inspired. I was inspired. With me now is Natasha Baker, the

:26:04. > :26:12.Team GB para-equestrian. You won double gold at the London 2012

:26:12. > :26:18.Paralympics. I have never touched a gold medal like that. How much of a

:26:18. > :26:23.life changer is that? I never imagined that 15 minutes in the a

:26:23. > :26:26.reader would change my life so much. I have been to Buckingham Palace

:26:26. > :26:33.several times and I have met the Queen. Several times! And I now

:26:33. > :26:42.have nd after my name. The most special thing is going to schools

:26:42. > :26:50.and inspiring the next generation - - MBE. I am proud I have done this

:26:50. > :27:06.and hopefully, we have a future gold medallist. At this table. You

:27:06. > :27:09.have a future as a presenter! The Big Lottery Fund is investing its

:27:09. > :27:12.share of the Olympic village sale, which is £40 million, into a Spirit

:27:12. > :27:13.of 2012 Trust. This money will specifically benefit communities

:27:13. > :27:16.of 2012 Trust. This money will across the UK who have been

:27:16. > :27:19.inspired by London 2012. It does not have to be sports related. If

:27:19. > :27:23.you have any big ideas, get in touch. There is more information on

:27:23. > :27:32.the BBC website about how the money could help the local community. The

:27:32. > :27:38.next award in association with Best magazine is for the health category.

:27:38. > :27:50.Who better to come out and give us some welly, the Strictly head judge,

:27:50. > :27:53.Len Goodman. Seven! I am very proud to present this next award. The

:27:53. > :27:55.winner of the health category is the Ichthyosis Support Group. They

:27:56. > :28:02.do unbelievable working raising awareness of this rare genetic skin

:28:02. > :28:06.condition. I had the pleasure and the privilege of surprising the

:28:06. > :28:14.group at one of their outings. I found out more about what they do.

:28:14. > :28:17.group at one of their outings. I I am in Reading to surprise the

:28:17. > :28:23.Ichthyosis Support Group. I have I am in Reading to surprise the

:28:23. > :28:38.the trophy. I have my disguise. I am going in. Let's see what happens.

:28:38. > :28:43.Where is Mandy! I am here to tell year, Ichthyosis Support Group has

:28:43. > :28:54.won the National Lottery health award. Congratulations to you and

:28:54. > :29:00.to everyone. Well done. Ichthyosis is a rare genetic skin condition.

:29:00. > :29:06.People with ichthyosis have extremely dry, flaky skin. People

:29:06. > :29:14.do not realise the effort that goes into having a skin condition. If

:29:14. > :29:19.you not -- if you do not use cream and treat your skin it becomes very

:29:19. > :29:29.painful. Her did you come across the grim? Through the internet.

:29:44. > :29:50.It is great. In it is lovely to talk to you. You are my favourite!

:29:50. > :30:02.Are what would you say to somebody who asks about your skin? That your

:30:02. > :30:16.works -- your skin works a little bit? Do friendly.That's right. --

:30:16. > :30:21.differently. What is going on? It is clear to see you have had a

:30:21. > :30:34.wonderful time. Do you score a seven?

:30:34. > :30:39.It is extremely overwhelming to win the award. Thanks for coming down

:30:39. > :30:44.to see us at Reading. It is overwhelming. It is an amazing

:30:44. > :30:50.opportunity to raise awareness for this rare condition, which can be

:30:50. > :30:55.debilitating. It is so important for everyone to learn about it. We

:30:55. > :31:00.would like to thank the national lottery and we would also like to

:31:00. > :31:03.give a huge thanks to members, families and supporters for

:31:04. > :31:09.campaigning and for voting for us and we would like to accept this

:31:09. > :31:18.award on behalf of everybody with ichthyosis, and particularly for

:31:18. > :31:25.those we have lost to the condition. Thank you very much. It means an

:31:25. > :31:29.awful lot. And now for the 6th award of the

:31:29. > :31:35.night, for voluntary charity. Here to present it is somebody who has

:31:35. > :31:48.the X Factor. Please welcome, Jahmene Douglas. The winners of the

:31:48. > :31:54.award are a special project, My Sister's Place. The ethos is simple,

:31:54. > :31:59.women should have the right to live free of any violence. I feel

:31:59. > :32:04.strongly because my mother witnessed domestic violence. A few

:32:04. > :32:14.weeks ago, I surprised them with an award. Take a look.

:32:14. > :32:20.This deals with the subject of domestic violence which I have dealt

:32:20. > :32:21.with for many years. They are having a meeting inside and I am going to

:32:21. > :32:43.surprise them. You have one the

:32:43. > :32:49.voluntary project. We are a one-stop shop, woman only service, we see

:32:49. > :32:55.women 16 years of age and over who have suffered or are suffering

:32:55. > :32:59.domestic violence. The job today is how many people we can tell about

:32:59. > :33:05.what we do, why it is important and what they can do. This is so close

:33:05. > :33:08.to my heart. To do anything involving stopping domestic

:33:08. > :33:12.violence, I am on it. For children it is really difficult. I know you

:33:12. > :33:18.were quite young when you were quite young when you're going through

:33:18. > :33:22.this. It was me and three of my other siblings, the help was not

:33:22. > :33:24.there. I am trying to stress how important it is that children have

:33:24. > :33:31.that environment and someone to talk to. The first time he hit me I was

:33:31. > :33:38.shocked but I thought, I did go on a bit and he is tired. You just blame

:33:38. > :33:43.yourself, but over the years you start to think it is not right. One

:33:43. > :33:44.day I thought I could not do it any more and put the children through

:33:44. > :33:50.it. They do not deserve it and they more and put the children through

:33:50. > :33:56.were only little. I did not want to cry, it is because I feel so guilty

:33:57. > :34:02.for not leaving earlier. In the ten years I have been here nearly a day

:34:02. > :34:09.never goes by when I do not sit by someone and am not surprised by

:34:09. > :34:12.their resilience. All the years of counselling, I have been on

:34:12. > :34:19.confidence building courses, Freedom courses, it is the best thing that

:34:19. > :34:26.happened to me and my children. Sorry. I would like to congratulate

:34:26. > :34:29.this place on giving a voice to the voiceless and power to people who

:34:29. > :34:45.cannot speak up themselves. Three cheers.

:34:45. > :34:51.I am very proud of you guys, very proud. Is there anyone you would

:34:51. > :34:56.like to say thank you to? I guess we would like to thank U because you

:34:56. > :35:03.are a fantastic ambassador for would like to thank U because you

:35:03. > :35:08.domestic violence. -- you. Working really hard to raise awareness.

:35:08. > :35:12.Thank you to the lottery, it has been a fantastic opportunity to

:35:12. > :35:17.raise awareness of domestic violence. We are a small independent

:35:17. > :35:20.charity that, against the odds, made more progress than we thought we

:35:20. > :35:30.would. It has been wonderful, thank you. Amazing.

:35:31. > :35:40.The last award is for the environment full of -- the

:35:40. > :35:44.environment. Sustrans is a charity that received a lottery grant for a

:35:44. > :35:47.project to build new bridges and traffic and walking routes around

:35:47. > :35:54.the UK. We went to see one of these traffic and walking routes around

:35:54. > :35:59.amazing structures in Cardiff. Sustrans's project has transformed

:35:59. > :36:05.travel across the UK with 84 projects like this one, this

:36:05. > :36:09.magnificent bridge. Up there there is an event going on. What they

:36:09. > :36:16.don't know is that I am sneaking in with this. Excuse me, sorry. I am

:36:16. > :36:22.looking for Malcolm Shepherd. Very nice to meet you. I'd like to

:36:22. > :36:38.announce to everybody that Sustrans got over 10,000 votes. You have won.

:36:38. > :36:49.That's brilliant. That is fantastic. Can you explain what Connect To is?

:36:49. > :36:55.They are project UK wide to Can you explain what Connect To is?

:36:55. > :37:00.encourage people to walk and cycle more. There are bridges, tunnels,

:37:01. > :37:03.people travelling from all around the UK to visit this. I am going to

:37:03. > :37:13.try this bridge out myself. How has this bridge changed your

:37:13. > :37:18.journey? It has transformed it. It has joined the two communities.

:37:18. > :37:23.There is a dual carriageway and it was not safe for a child to be on.

:37:23. > :37:28.Is it fun to be on the back of the bike with your dad? Is he quit?

:37:29. > :37:35.Downhill. Is it good for non-cyclists? Fantastic. We don't

:37:35. > :37:44.need to worry about traffic and it links us to a lot more routes. Does

:37:44. > :37:49.it make it easier to make travel choices that are more environmental?

:37:49. > :37:57.Yes, people think about getting on their bikes for a shorter journey.

:37:57. > :38:01.We can all do it. Here in Cardiff, Connect To has literally bridged a

:38:01. > :38:02.community. Let's raise our glasses and the bridge to Sustrans and a

:38:02. > :38:20.great success story. Malcolm, I had no idea. I have a

:38:20. > :38:25.house very near that bridge in Cardiff. I had no idea that was part

:38:25. > :38:30.of the project. It is amazing. It is a great bridge. You enjoyed

:38:30. > :38:34.yourself? We had an amazing day with Kate and the filming crew. All the

:38:34. > :38:40.people joined in from the community as well. It reflected the impact it

:38:40. > :38:49.had on the community. Who would you like to say thank you about winning

:38:49. > :38:52.this award? Without the funding money from the National Lottery,

:38:52. > :38:56.this would not have been possible, but also all the people who voted

:38:56. > :38:58.for us, who made sure we could deliver these projects on time,

:38:58. > :39:05.without them this would not have happened. Ike Machen graduation is,

:39:05. > :39:11.and you look good on a yacht. -- congratulations.
