0:00:08 > 0:00:11I'm wearing my family tartan and I'm joined by a couple of friends.

0:00:11 > 0:00:14This Scottish sword dance dates back to the Middle Ages

0:00:14 > 0:00:18and was in preparation for battle and celebration of victory.

0:00:18 > 0:00:21Perfect for what we've got in store for you today.

0:00:21 > 0:00:24We've got a fair to get to, so let's go Bargain Hunting.

0:00:54 > 0:00:57Today's fair comes from the Royal Highland Centre.

0:00:57 > 0:00:59This place is bursting with goodies.

0:00:59 > 0:01:03Our teams have ?300 and one hour to hunt out those bargains.

0:01:03 > 0:01:05Let's see what's coming up.

0:01:07 > 0:01:08The Reds are in for a shock.

0:01:08 > 0:01:11It might scare us.

0:01:11 > 0:01:12400!

0:01:12 > 0:01:15The Blues know exactly what they don't want.

0:01:15 > 0:01:19Emma's eyes, she's glazing over on me, I can see she's not...

0:01:19 > 0:01:23You're not enamoured with these. I'm not as enamoured.

0:01:23 > 0:01:25And there are surprises at the auction.

0:01:25 > 0:01:27Oh, no.

0:01:27 > 0:01:28Get in there!

0:01:30 > 0:01:33Well, more of that later. So, let's meet our teams.

0:01:33 > 0:01:35For the Reds, we've got sisters Zoe and Katie.

0:01:35 > 0:01:38And for the Blues, we've got friends Emma and Jess.

0:01:38 > 0:01:40Hello. ALL: Hello.

0:01:40 > 0:01:43Hey, yeah. Right.

0:01:43 > 0:01:47So, Katie, you work for the Scottish Autism organisation.

0:01:47 > 0:01:48What do you actually do for them?

0:01:48 > 0:01:51I work in a day centre, with adults who are living with autism,

0:01:51 > 0:01:56so I'm just there to support them, to follow their daily planners,

0:01:56 > 0:02:00things like going out bowling, going out for meals, personal care,

0:02:00 > 0:02:04all the kind of things that we find easy in our lives,

0:02:04 > 0:02:05they might find a bit more challenging,

0:02:05 > 0:02:07so it's just to offer support for them.

0:02:07 > 0:02:10You have first hand experience at home with autism, is that right?

0:02:10 > 0:02:13Yeah, we have a foster sister who's got autism,

0:02:13 > 0:02:15and she absolutely loves Bargain Hunt,

0:02:15 > 0:02:17so that's the reason we're here. What's her name? Lisa Marie.

0:02:17 > 0:02:19Lisa Marie loves Bargain Hunt. She loves it.

0:02:19 > 0:02:22She watches the same programmes, the same one over and over again.

0:02:22 > 0:02:24So that's why we are here today, to change that,

0:02:24 > 0:02:26so that she has a new episode to watch,

0:02:26 > 0:02:28so we don't need to watch the same one.

0:02:28 > 0:02:31And obviously this time, it'll be a winning one. So, you better do well.

0:02:31 > 0:02:32Yeah, she wants us to win.

0:02:32 > 0:02:35Yeah. The Blue team are in for it today, because we need to win.

0:02:35 > 0:02:37Bad luck. You've got to win.

0:02:37 > 0:02:39Yeah. So, what do you do, Zoe?

0:02:39 > 0:02:42I work for Fife Gingerbread, which is a voluntary organisation,

0:02:42 > 0:02:45and I support teen parents with their kids in group situations

0:02:45 > 0:02:47and one-to-one, and it's all about building confidence

0:02:47 > 0:02:50and getting their skills up so that they can move forward

0:02:50 > 0:02:52with whatever they want to do with their lives.

0:02:52 > 0:02:55So, that's two very admirable jobs, you know, worthy causes.

0:02:55 > 0:02:58Well done, you two. Are you two very, very competitive?

0:02:58 > 0:03:00We've been known...

0:03:00 > 0:03:02We've done a few car-boot sales in our time,

0:03:02 > 0:03:06and when we're at car-boot sales, we tend to do a wee competition,

0:03:06 > 0:03:09so it's like you go to somebody else's stall and you buy something,

0:03:09 > 0:03:11you bring it back and you sell it on our stall for a profit.

0:03:11 > 0:03:12Obviously, I always win.

0:03:12 > 0:03:15Is that right, Zoe? Yeah. Is that right, Katie? No.

0:03:15 > 0:03:16Who knows the most?

0:03:16 > 0:03:20Me. Zoe. At least she admits it!

0:03:20 > 0:03:23Right, onto the losing team, the Blues. Hello.

0:03:23 > 0:03:24HE LAUGHS

0:03:24 > 0:03:26Right, sorry, sorry. Have faith, have faith.

0:03:26 > 0:03:28Have faith - I will have faith.

0:03:28 > 0:03:29So, you two are friends.

0:03:29 > 0:03:32Now, Jess, how did you two meet?

0:03:32 > 0:03:34We met, probably about... over ten years ago now,

0:03:34 > 0:03:37when we were both at university at Stirling.

0:03:37 > 0:03:38We both studied film and media,

0:03:38 > 0:03:41so we kind of bonded over our love of films and good music

0:03:41 > 0:03:44and things like that, and we've just been best mates ever since.

0:03:44 > 0:03:46So, Jess, tell me about your dog, Django.

0:03:46 > 0:03:49She's played a huge part in a very special occasion in your life,

0:03:49 > 0:03:52is that right? She did, she did very well, actually.

0:03:52 > 0:03:55She was part of the engagement, when my fiance proposed to me,

0:03:55 > 0:03:58so he hid the ring inside a big tennis ball

0:03:58 > 0:04:02and we were going for a walk where he sort of subtly dropped the ball

0:04:02 > 0:04:04and walked maybe a few metres forward.

0:04:04 > 0:04:07He then turned round and went, "Django, what's that?"

0:04:07 > 0:04:10And she went haring over, grabbed the ball, came running back over,

0:04:10 > 0:04:12where he then got it from her mouth

0:04:12 > 0:04:14and then got down on one knee and proposed.

0:04:14 > 0:04:16And proposed. And you obviously said yes.

0:04:16 > 0:04:18I did, yes. It's a big risk, though.

0:04:18 > 0:04:20The dog, you know, the ball.

0:04:20 > 0:04:23Yeah. The ring. It could have all gone completely wrong.

0:04:23 > 0:04:25Have you got the ring on today? I have, yeah. Look at that.

0:04:25 > 0:04:27Oh, isn't that marvellous?

0:04:27 > 0:04:29That's a beautiful baguette cut.

0:04:29 > 0:04:31Yeah. Lovely, yeah.

0:04:31 > 0:04:32He did do well, didn't he?

0:04:32 > 0:04:35A nice clean stone. So, over to you, Emma.

0:04:35 > 0:04:38Yeah. You've got quite an interesting, relevant Scottish job.

0:04:38 > 0:04:42Yes, I work for a whisky and gin company,

0:04:42 > 0:04:46so we have a beautiful distillery up in Kingsbarns near St Andrews,

0:04:46 > 0:04:49and we also have gin as well, so it's great,

0:04:49 > 0:04:53I get to try lots of different, amazing whiskys

0:04:53 > 0:04:55and go to whisky shows and... And gin?

0:04:55 > 0:04:57..lots of characters, and the gin as well, so...

0:04:57 > 0:04:59Are you a gin drinker or a whisky drinker?

0:04:59 > 0:05:01Both, yeah. Both. I have trained myself well.

0:05:01 > 0:05:03THEY LAUGH

0:05:03 > 0:05:04No, I love it. So, both of you,

0:05:04 > 0:05:07what are your tactics going to be in the fair?

0:05:07 > 0:05:11Well, I think, in terms of haggling, Jess is great at it.

0:05:11 > 0:05:14She can get you into any after party, any club,

0:05:14 > 0:05:15she's a great blagger.

0:05:15 > 0:05:17That was my key skill at university.

0:05:17 > 0:05:19I would always get everybody in to the parties

0:05:19 > 0:05:22or try and blag my way into clubs and things like that.

0:05:22 > 0:05:23So, I can talk a good game.

0:05:23 > 0:05:26Talk a good game? I'll be the haggler, I'm going to haggle hard.

0:05:26 > 0:05:28You're going to transpose that to buying antiques?

0:05:28 > 0:05:30Yeah. Well, best of luck with that.

0:05:30 > 0:05:34But before we do that, I'd better give you some money.

0:05:34 > 0:05:36Yeah. Right. So, here you are,

0:05:36 > 0:05:39?300. I think you're going to take that, is that right, Zoe?

0:05:39 > 0:05:41I think you may be right. Yeah, I could be right.

0:05:41 > 0:05:42There you are, Emma. Thank you.

0:05:42 > 0:05:45Off you go. Meet your experts.

0:05:45 > 0:05:48I think we've got two very competitive teams.

0:05:48 > 0:05:50Maybe one a little bit more than the other.

0:05:53 > 0:05:58Our very competitive teams need a couple of very talented experts.

0:05:58 > 0:06:01Hoping for top marks in a top hat,

0:06:01 > 0:06:03for the Reds, it's Ben Cooper.

0:06:03 > 0:06:06And perfectly in tune with the Blues, it's Kate Bliss.

0:06:07 > 0:06:09What have you got in mind to buy?

0:06:09 > 0:06:12Come on. Zoe. I'm thinking toys, I'd like to buy something toy related.

0:06:12 > 0:06:15Silver, sparkly, something that catches your eye,

0:06:15 > 0:06:18maybe a bit of enamel in it. Scottish silver as well.

0:06:18 > 0:06:20I love giraffes, so maybe something with a giraffe on it.

0:06:20 > 0:06:23Giraffes? I'm thinking vintage, retro, homeware,

0:06:23 > 0:06:25something like that.

0:06:25 > 0:06:26I detect some bargains.

0:06:26 > 0:06:28Teams, your time starts now.

0:06:28 > 0:06:30HORN BLARES

0:06:30 > 0:06:32Let's get at it. Come on.

0:06:32 > 0:06:34These girls know what they're after,

0:06:34 > 0:06:37and this fair is literally brimming with stuff.

0:06:37 > 0:06:41Surely our experts can guide them in the right direction.

0:06:41 > 0:06:44Now, you've talked about toys, I can see lots of toys in front of us.

0:06:44 > 0:06:46Let's have a nosy over here, then.

0:06:47 > 0:06:50And I think the Reds have spotted something

0:06:50 > 0:06:51on their wish list already.

0:06:51 > 0:06:55A giraffe. It says, "Please ask to open."

0:06:55 > 0:06:58Let me ask the gentleman if he doesn't mind opening the cabinet.

0:06:58 > 0:06:59Two seconds.

0:07:00 > 0:07:03While Ben goes off to find the stallholder,

0:07:03 > 0:07:07it looks like the Blues are already on the retro trail.

0:07:07 > 0:07:11Yeah. Those are great. It's got the Harrods symbol.

0:07:11 > 0:07:12Well, that's lovely to have the Harrods name.

0:07:12 > 0:07:16Look at that. Gosh, I don't think it's ever been used, you know.

0:07:16 > 0:07:19Yeah, it looks untouched. Yeah, Brexton. Brexton, England.

0:07:19 > 0:07:21There we go. It's just really kitsch,

0:07:21 > 0:07:23I just quite like it. It's really what?

0:07:23 > 0:07:25Kitsch. "Keech"? Yeah, "kitch", "keech".

0:07:25 > 0:07:28THEY LAUGH Is that how you say it in Scotland?

0:07:28 > 0:07:29Yeah, I'm probably saying it wrong!

0:07:31 > 0:07:34I love it. What's the price, Jess?

0:07:34 > 0:07:3685. ?85.

0:07:36 > 0:07:39OK, let's ask what the best price is, what do you think?

0:07:39 > 0:07:43Yeah, let's try it. I'm going to pop this plate back before I drop it.

0:07:43 > 0:07:47When it comes to "keech" - or is that "kitch"? - price is everything.

0:07:47 > 0:07:49So, while they get to the bottom of that,

0:07:49 > 0:07:52what's the deal with that giraffe?

0:07:52 > 0:07:53Oh, it's heavy.

0:07:54 > 0:07:57It's quite cool, and I like the fact it's got a box.

0:07:57 > 0:07:58I wonder how much it is, though.

0:07:58 > 0:08:01It might scare us, but all I can do is ask. What...

0:08:02 > 0:08:05400?! 400?!

0:08:05 > 0:08:08Toys can often surprise us how much... ?400. ..they're going to be.

0:08:08 > 0:08:11We won't be having... We won't be having this chap.

0:08:11 > 0:08:13No. Right, thanks for letting us look at it.

0:08:13 > 0:08:14Thank you very much.

0:08:14 > 0:08:16Blimey, that's very expensive.

0:08:16 > 0:08:18The Reds have an eye for quality.

0:08:18 > 0:08:21But time to move on - and what's the all-important price

0:08:21 > 0:08:24on the Blues' picnic set?

0:08:25 > 0:08:28It says 75 to somebody else.

0:08:28 > 0:08:31Right. OK. I think we'd probably be a bit more comfortable

0:08:31 > 0:08:34paying around about the 50, 60 mark. Is that too low for you?

0:08:34 > 0:08:37Is there anything that you could do a bit closer to that for us?

0:08:37 > 0:08:39Let's say ?68, then.

0:08:40 > 0:08:43Hmm... It's still quite steep, isn't it?

0:08:43 > 0:08:46I feel like since it's our first item as well, we should maybe...

0:08:46 > 0:08:48Could we park it and come back to it later?

0:08:48 > 0:08:50Yeah, come back later. That's a good idea.

0:08:50 > 0:08:53Yeah. Park it. May we do that, madam? We might come back.

0:08:53 > 0:08:57Thank you very much. Thank you.

0:08:57 > 0:08:58It is a bit more than they want to pay,

0:08:58 > 0:09:00so it's one for the back burner,

0:09:00 > 0:09:04and it looks like the Reds are also heading for some 1950s retro.

0:09:05 > 0:09:07Is there anything that might catch your eye?

0:09:07 > 0:09:08I like the chair. The chair.

0:09:08 > 0:09:10I like the chair. That's both of you.

0:09:10 > 0:09:14It's rare that we actually have both contestants liking the same thing.

0:09:14 > 0:09:16No, I do like it. Now, let's have and look

0:09:16 > 0:09:17and see what the price is on it.

0:09:17 > 0:09:20?48. Is it comfortable, though, Katie?

0:09:20 > 0:09:23Have a seat and see. I'm scared.

0:09:23 > 0:09:25A chair's got to be comfortable. It is comfy. Is it?

0:09:25 > 0:09:29Yeah. Get my stool. No, it is comfy.

0:09:29 > 0:09:30It's funky looking. Your turn, Zoe.

0:09:30 > 0:09:32I love the colour of it. I love the yellow through it.

0:09:34 > 0:09:37A wee cushion. I doubt... It probably won't take my weight.

0:09:37 > 0:09:39And it's really wearing quite well.

0:09:39 > 0:09:44I mean, yes, it's a pity about the damage here, but it has been used.

0:09:44 > 0:09:47Yeah. And when this kind of furniture was made,

0:09:47 > 0:09:48it wasn't expensive -

0:09:48 > 0:09:51there were the very expensive designers, like Bertoia,

0:09:51 > 0:09:55who did their wire work chairs, and those are worth a lot of money.

0:09:55 > 0:09:57Those could be a couple of hundred pounds for a chair.

0:09:57 > 0:09:59And this is getting that look,

0:09:59 > 0:10:02but obviously with slightly cheaper materials, which won't last as well,

0:10:02 > 0:10:06but having said that, it's lasted pretty well.

0:10:06 > 0:10:08So, Zoe, why don't we find the dealer

0:10:08 > 0:10:11and see what her very best on it would be? Okey dokes.

0:10:11 > 0:10:14Hi there. We like your chair.

0:10:14 > 0:10:16Is there any movement on your price?

0:10:16 > 0:10:17It's priced up at ?48.

0:10:17 > 0:10:20Yeah, sure. What would you be prepared to pay?

0:10:22 > 0:10:24?30? Ah! Really?!

0:10:24 > 0:10:28No. But look, this bit is almost gone.

0:10:28 > 0:10:30Well, do you know, I could take that off for you.

0:10:30 > 0:10:33It's like almost gone. I could just take it...

0:10:33 > 0:10:35This bit's missing.

0:10:35 > 0:10:38The very best... The very best is 42.

0:10:38 > 0:10:4042. Yeah.

0:10:40 > 0:10:42Would you take 38?

0:10:42 > 0:10:44Just help us out that tiny little bit.

0:10:44 > 0:10:4740. 40. 40. Will we take it?

0:10:47 > 0:10:49You both like it, don't you? Let's go for it. First buy.

0:10:49 > 0:10:51Shake the lady's hand.

0:10:51 > 0:10:53Thank you. Thank you very much. Thank you.

0:10:53 > 0:10:55These two drive a hard bargain.

0:10:55 > 0:10:58But after just ten minutes, that's item one in the bag.

0:10:58 > 0:11:01And there's excitement in the Blue camp -

0:11:01 > 0:11:03they've found a treasure trove of silver.

0:11:03 > 0:11:05We like this kind of circular brooch,

0:11:05 > 0:11:06the one with the green inside it.

0:11:06 > 0:11:08STALLHOLDER: This is Pat Cheney, this one.

0:11:08 > 0:11:10Oh! Ooooh!

0:11:10 > 0:11:12THEY LAUGH

0:11:12 > 0:11:14That's one of the people we had our eye on. Yeah.

0:11:14 > 0:11:16STALLHOLDER: So that's...

0:11:16 > 0:11:19Although she's English, it's Scottish jewellery. Do you collect

0:11:19 > 0:11:20Pat Cheney, or you know of her?

0:11:20 > 0:11:23No, we just know of her, we've kind of...

0:11:23 > 0:11:26We both like jewellery, so we looked into a little bit of...

0:11:26 > 0:11:30Yeah. ..what we might like, and Pat Cheney came up, so...

0:11:30 > 0:11:32I love the sea green colour. Yeah. It's lovely, actually.

0:11:32 > 0:11:33It's beautiful, isn't it?

0:11:33 > 0:11:35It's really interesting. Yeah.

0:11:35 > 0:11:38Interesting shape. So, what sort of price are we talking for this one?

0:11:38 > 0:11:40110. 110, OK.

0:11:40 > 0:11:44I'm just wondering, though, brooches, per se,

0:11:44 > 0:11:47aren't doing particularly well at the moment,

0:11:47 > 0:11:50just because they're a little bit out of fashion.

0:11:50 > 0:11:52Hmm, there's lots to consider.

0:11:52 > 0:11:54It's harder than it looks.

0:11:54 > 0:11:56Let's leave them to ponder.

0:11:56 > 0:11:59And it looks like the Reds have found more toys.

0:11:59 > 0:12:02Actually, the condition, to be fair,

0:12:02 > 0:12:05isn't too bad. Particularly as it looks like there are no boxes,

0:12:05 > 0:12:08so they've been living out in the open, as it were.

0:12:08 > 0:12:12Yeah. For a toy that's 50, 60 years old...

0:12:12 > 0:12:13It's lasted not bad. It's not bad.

0:12:13 > 0:12:15A lot of paint still on it.

0:12:15 > 0:12:17I like them, cos they're quite bright and stuff,

0:12:17 > 0:12:19and I just like the idea of the tin toys.

0:12:19 > 0:12:23Yeah. The dealer's got ?20 for the pair.

0:12:23 > 0:12:25Yeah.

0:12:25 > 0:12:27Now, that's a tenner each.

0:12:27 > 0:12:29STALLHOLDER: If it's got ?20 on it, it'll be ten...

0:12:29 > 0:12:32Ten each. No. Ten for the pair.

0:12:32 > 0:12:34Ten for the pair?

0:12:34 > 0:12:36Now... What about the train?

0:12:36 > 0:12:38Yes, what about that train?

0:12:38 > 0:12:40While they take a look at it,

0:12:40 > 0:12:42the Blues are still thinking about jewellery.

0:12:42 > 0:12:43I'm just wondering, if we...

0:12:43 > 0:12:45Cos I know you really like this stuff...

0:12:45 > 0:12:48Yeah. ..and we're selling in Glasgow.

0:12:48 > 0:12:52I'm just wondering if we took something like the ring as well...

0:12:52 > 0:12:53We could do a bit of a deal.

0:12:53 > 0:12:55..whether we could do a bit of a deal.

0:12:55 > 0:12:57Am I talking your language, madam?

0:12:58 > 0:13:02Oh, you are. You are. That ring there?

0:13:02 > 0:13:05STALLHOLDER: This is Norman Grant. Oh, Norman Grand's the other...

0:13:05 > 0:13:07Oh, yeah. That was the other one we wanted.

0:13:10 > 0:13:12It's really delicate, isn't it?

0:13:12 > 0:13:13That's lovely. And how much is that?

0:13:13 > 0:13:15115.

0:13:15 > 0:13:19So... It's a lot of money. ..if we were to take the two pieces,

0:13:19 > 0:13:21what would you...?

0:13:21 > 0:13:23What could we do?

0:13:23 > 0:13:25150.

0:13:25 > 0:13:28That would be... Meet me in the middle, 140.

0:13:28 > 0:13:29That would be...

0:13:29 > 0:13:31145?

0:13:31 > 0:13:33STALLHOLDER: 148.

0:13:35 > 0:13:36They're lovely pieces.

0:13:36 > 0:13:39Yeah. I think this might take some time.

0:13:39 > 0:13:42Let's leave them to cogitate.

0:13:42 > 0:13:44How's that train looking for the Reds?

0:13:44 > 0:13:46Would that originally have come together?

0:13:46 > 0:13:49I would have thought so. But, look, look at the linking.

0:13:50 > 0:13:52They're designed to go together.

0:13:52 > 0:13:55The other thing to check is what's called the gauge.

0:13:55 > 0:13:57Right. Width of the wheels.

0:13:57 > 0:14:00There we go. It's down from 55 to 30,

0:14:00 > 0:14:01do you think it'll be down to 15?

0:14:01 > 0:14:04I think we'll just have to confirm and check.

0:14:04 > 0:14:06On the price, madam, you've got...

0:14:06 > 0:14:09You've crossed through the 55 and you've written 30.

0:14:09 > 0:14:11Is that the bottom price or is it half of that?

0:14:11 > 0:14:13No, half of 30. So, it's 15.

0:14:13 > 0:14:16Yes. Well, my thought...

0:14:16 > 0:14:19is for ?10 and ?15... ?25,

0:14:19 > 0:14:20you've got a train and two carriages.

0:14:20 > 0:14:22Will we go for that? Yeah? Let's do it.

0:14:22 > 0:14:23I think we should go for them.

0:14:23 > 0:14:25Yeah? Second buy.

0:14:25 > 0:14:27Hooray. So, two down.

0:14:27 > 0:14:30Shake the lady's hand. Katie, you're happy?

0:14:30 > 0:14:34Yep, very happy. You sure? Yep. Brilliant.

0:14:34 > 0:14:37Brilliant indeed. The Reds are well on track.

0:14:37 > 0:14:4024 minutes in and they have two items.

0:14:40 > 0:14:42Still thinking about the jewellery?

0:14:42 > 0:14:45Are things any clearer for the Blues?

0:14:45 > 0:14:47Ooh, what are we going to do, girls?

0:14:47 > 0:14:50Ooh! Was it 148 for both pieces? STALLHOLDER: 148 for both pieces.

0:14:50 > 0:14:54For this and the brooch. And the brooch. OK.

0:14:54 > 0:14:56I think we should go for it. You think so?

0:14:56 > 0:14:59Yeah. 148.

0:14:59 > 0:15:00OK. Let's do it.

0:15:00 > 0:15:03Let's do it. OK, thank you. Two pieces.

0:15:03 > 0:15:06Thank you. Fantastic. Thank you very much.

0:15:07 > 0:15:13Phew. We're halfway through and they have two great items for ?148,

0:15:13 > 0:15:16which makes the ring ?63 and the brooch ?85.

0:15:16 > 0:15:18And two very happy ladies.

0:15:18 > 0:15:22While they continue to browse, time to take a break.

0:15:22 > 0:15:25I have something of my own that I want to show you.

0:15:32 > 0:15:36Do you remember that day when a letter used to drop on your doormat,

0:15:36 > 0:15:39a beautiful handwritten envelope?

0:15:39 > 0:15:41You'd never know what was inside it. Was it good news?

0:15:41 > 0:15:44Was it bad news? Was it a love letter?

0:15:44 > 0:15:45But how did you open them?

0:15:45 > 0:15:49Did you use your finger and stick it in the envelope and rip it open,

0:15:49 > 0:15:52and possibly ruin the contents?

0:15:52 > 0:15:54Well, I have an alternative.

0:15:54 > 0:15:59I have here possibly the finest letter opener known to man.

0:15:59 > 0:16:03It's designed by Stuart Devlin - he's an Australian-born silversmith,

0:16:03 > 0:16:05but mainly worked in London,

0:16:05 > 0:16:08and he's world-renowned for his very modern designs.

0:16:08 > 0:16:11And I absolutely love this.

0:16:11 > 0:16:15It's a piece of modern silver made in 1976.

0:16:15 > 0:16:19It's solid silver with brilliant hallmarks here.

0:16:19 > 0:16:22This beautiful, twisted, textured handle.

0:16:22 > 0:16:27It just weighs and feels absolutely majestic.

0:16:28 > 0:16:30So, what's this worth?

0:16:30 > 0:16:33Well, Stuart Devlin is very widely collected,

0:16:33 > 0:16:37and something like this would come up for auction

0:16:37 > 0:16:40and I would expect to pay between ?150 and ?200.

0:16:40 > 0:16:44But the real value of this paper knife is in the opening.

0:16:44 > 0:16:46Listen to this.

0:16:46 > 0:16:48CRISP TEARING

0:16:48 > 0:16:50Wow. Fabulous.

0:16:50 > 0:16:51But what does it say?

0:16:54 > 0:16:57"Dear Thomas, happy Bargain Hunting."

0:17:07 > 0:17:12Back to the shopping. How are our happy Bargain Hunters getting on?

0:17:12 > 0:17:15I think Jess and Emma are really thrilled with their pieces -

0:17:15 > 0:17:17they bought exactly what they set out to buy.

0:17:17 > 0:17:19With the trains, it was just like, "Yep, we want them."

0:17:19 > 0:17:21A look at the retro chair. "Yeah, we want it."

0:17:21 > 0:17:23They have spent quite a bit of money, though.

0:17:23 > 0:17:26They've not spent much money, we've got lots more money.

0:17:26 > 0:17:29So maybe we ought to look for something a little bit more funky,

0:17:29 > 0:17:33a bit more retro, whatever they were initially looking for,

0:17:33 > 0:17:35and a bit cheaper on price.

0:17:35 > 0:17:36It's a doddle. We're going to win.

0:17:36 > 0:17:39Those Blues won't know what's hit them.

0:17:39 > 0:17:42It sounds like the competition is well and truly on.

0:17:42 > 0:17:47With 30 minutes on the clock, each team has one item to buy.

0:17:47 > 0:17:49But will it be plane sailing?

0:17:49 > 0:17:52Do you like this? They don't look very old.

0:17:52 > 0:17:53Would I be right in saying that?

0:17:53 > 0:17:57Well, they're very much in the '30s style, in the Art Deco style.

0:17:57 > 0:18:01Emma's eyes, she's glazing over on me, I can see she's not...

0:18:01 > 0:18:04You're not enamoured with these. I'm not as enamoured.

0:18:04 > 0:18:07It looks like those ships have sunk without a trace.

0:18:07 > 0:18:10But what on earth have the Reds found?

0:18:10 > 0:18:12A gin man.

0:18:12 > 0:18:15Would they have been made yesterday, though?

0:18:15 > 0:18:19I wouldn't say yesterday, but I wouldn't say very long ago.

0:18:19 > 0:18:23This chap is priced at eight.

0:18:23 > 0:18:27?8. Cos how much do you think we'd get in auction?

0:18:27 > 0:18:28Probably about a tenner. A tenner.

0:18:28 > 0:18:31I mean, there's hardly anything... In them. Yeah.

0:18:31 > 0:18:33Let's see if we can find something a wee bit more risky,

0:18:33 > 0:18:35and if not, we'll come back, cos I do like them.

0:18:35 > 0:18:37Hmm. Maybe one to think about.

0:18:37 > 0:18:40Meanwhile, the Blues are on to a Bargain Hunt classic.

0:18:42 > 0:18:45Some Clarice Cliff up here. Ooh. This is very collectable.

0:18:45 > 0:18:48Oh, I didn't think it was Clarice Cliff. Mm-hm.

0:18:48 > 0:18:49This one down here's quite nice.

0:18:49 > 0:18:51It's from the Bizarre range,

0:18:51 > 0:18:54which was one of the first ranges that she did in the 1930s.

0:18:54 > 0:18:56This is not really jumping out to me, what do you...?

0:18:56 > 0:18:58Yeah, I'm not liking them as much.

0:18:58 > 0:19:00I mean, we always said, if we were buying items,

0:19:00 > 0:19:03it would be something that we would buy ourselves, so...

0:19:03 > 0:19:05I've got the message, I've got the message.

0:19:05 > 0:19:08So that is a definite no to Clarice.

0:19:08 > 0:19:11Better move on, and time is running out.

0:19:11 > 0:19:15Right, we've got ten minutes left, you need to focus your minds, girls.

0:19:15 > 0:19:18It's too hard. It's too hard. SHE LAUGHS

0:19:18 > 0:19:20We've not had a look down that one.

0:19:20 > 0:19:21Can we have a quick...

0:19:21 > 0:19:24Quick look and then we'll just have to make a decision.

0:19:24 > 0:19:25The Reds are up against it,

0:19:25 > 0:19:28but it looks like the Blues have found something...blue.

0:19:30 > 0:19:33What do you think of that? That's nice.

0:19:33 > 0:19:34Do we know what this means on the front?

0:19:34 > 0:19:38Well, it's syrup of something or other, I'm not a chemist.

0:19:38 > 0:19:40So I don't know what that is.

0:19:40 > 0:19:43OK. What's the price for that?

0:19:43 > 0:19:45I've got ?65 on that.

0:19:45 > 0:19:48Well, I think chemist bottles like these ones are collectable,

0:19:48 > 0:19:51definitely. Yeah. I like the ones with the labels on.

0:19:51 > 0:19:53Yeah. And that one, "syrup of senna..."

0:19:53 > 0:19:55Yeah. I think you take that...

0:19:55 > 0:19:58We won't go into details, actually, why you take that,

0:19:58 > 0:20:00but that's definitely a chemist bottle.

0:20:00 > 0:20:03Yeah. And then there's that one, which would go quite nicely with it.

0:20:03 > 0:20:05I'm wondering if they're...

0:20:05 > 0:20:06The gentleman might do us a deal if we took

0:20:06 > 0:20:08the two. See, that one doesn't have a lid,

0:20:08 > 0:20:11but I've just spotted one behind there with a lid.

0:20:11 > 0:20:13Well spotted.

0:20:13 > 0:20:15Oh, that's nice.

0:20:15 > 0:20:16Isn't that lovely? Yeah.

0:20:16 > 0:20:20A beautiful set. They go quite well, but I mean...

0:20:20 > 0:20:22I think we would want him to do quite a good deal on it....

0:20:22 > 0:20:25A good deal. What sort of price would be for the pair?

0:20:27 > 0:20:30120. 120 on the pair.

0:20:30 > 0:20:31Ouch, that's a lot.

0:20:31 > 0:20:35But our canny duo may have a solution.

0:20:35 > 0:20:37The green set, would they be cheaper?

0:20:37 > 0:20:38Yes.

0:20:38 > 0:20:39STALLHOLDER: ?35 on each of those.

0:20:41 > 0:20:44They're both ?35, so... And how old are they?

0:20:44 > 0:20:47They look... They're not quite as old.

0:20:47 > 0:20:50I can do the pair of them for 55.

0:20:50 > 0:20:52So, that's the blue or the green.

0:20:52 > 0:20:53Decisions, decisions.

0:20:53 > 0:20:55This is like deja vu.

0:20:55 > 0:20:57And it looks like the Reds can't make a decision either.

0:20:59 > 0:21:03It's not a piece of Lalique, but ticket price is only ?60.

0:21:03 > 0:21:06I don't like that. You don't like that? No. Do you like anything?

0:21:06 > 0:21:08Aye, when I see it.

0:21:08 > 0:21:09We're down to seven minutes.

0:21:09 > 0:21:12This is a lot more difficult than you think, eh?

0:21:12 > 0:21:17It all started so well for the Reds and now they're struggling.

0:21:17 > 0:21:19Are things any clearer for the Blues?

0:21:19 > 0:21:22Do you want to stick to just spending around your ?60 mark -

0:21:22 > 0:21:25in which case, I would say that's the best buy.

0:21:25 > 0:21:29Yeah. If you don't, and you're prepared to pay a little bit more,

0:21:29 > 0:21:30I would still go for the blue pair.

0:21:30 > 0:21:32I think they're a really nice example,

0:21:32 > 0:21:36and they are earlier than the green pair. Yeah, yeah.

0:21:37 > 0:21:38Jess, I think it's your call.

0:21:38 > 0:21:40Can I just check once more?

0:21:40 > 0:21:42If we go for the two of them, can we do a deal for ?100?

0:21:42 > 0:21:44I'll do the pair for 105.

0:21:44 > 0:21:48I paid 95, so if I make a tenner, I'll be happy.

0:21:48 > 0:21:50They sound close to a decision,

0:21:50 > 0:21:53but can we say the same for the Red camp?

0:21:53 > 0:21:57Oh!!! Do you like the soda siphon? No! I quite like that.

0:21:57 > 0:22:00You quite like that, Katie?

0:22:00 > 0:22:03One thing with soda siphons, people convert them into lamps.

0:22:03 > 0:22:06They've got a really good look. Think of that converted.

0:22:08 > 0:22:10How much have you got on...? ?12.

0:22:10 > 0:22:13It's in lovely condition, it's even got a bit of soda left in it.

0:22:13 > 0:22:15SHE LAUGHS

0:22:15 > 0:22:17I can feel the tension in the air.

0:22:17 > 0:22:19So, are the Blues blue or green?

0:22:19 > 0:22:21Or something completely different?

0:22:21 > 0:22:24It's basically coming down to that or the picnic basket, as well.

0:22:24 > 0:22:27I think this. Stay with them? Yeah. 105.

0:22:27 > 0:22:29OK. Want to go for it? Yep.

0:22:29 > 0:22:31OK, you happy?

0:22:31 > 0:22:33Yes. Let's do it.

0:22:33 > 0:22:35Good decision. Are you sure? I'm terrible at decision making.

0:22:35 > 0:22:39Final answer? Final answer. Yes!

0:22:39 > 0:22:41Thank you very much. Thank you so much. You're welcome, thank you.

0:22:41 > 0:22:45Fantastic. The Blues have gone blue at ?105,

0:22:45 > 0:22:47with just two minutes to spare.

0:22:47 > 0:22:50Now, come on, you Reds.

0:22:50 > 0:22:53What do you reckon? I do quite like it. And at ?12...

0:22:55 > 0:22:57A tenner, we'll take it.

0:22:57 > 0:22:59SHE LAUGHS

0:22:59 > 0:23:01Katie, you said those words, why don't you ask the lady?

0:23:01 > 0:23:04A tenner and we'll take it. Deal. There you go.

0:23:04 > 0:23:06She's just done a decision without me!

0:23:06 > 0:23:09They've done it! They've bought their final item,

0:23:09 > 0:23:11and they get a sweet. What a relief.

0:23:11 > 0:23:13KLAXON

0:23:13 > 0:23:17Don't feel deflated, teams, but your time's up.

0:23:17 > 0:23:18All right, girls, high five.

0:23:20 > 0:23:22Let's go. Let's go and find a cuppa. Definitely.

0:23:22 > 0:23:24So, while they grab a cuppa,

0:23:24 > 0:23:27let's remind ourselves what the Reds bought.

0:23:27 > 0:23:32The groovy 1950s atomic satellite chair was ?40.

0:23:33 > 0:23:35These toys aren't just for boys,

0:23:35 > 0:23:37the girls had to have the Hornby tin-plate train

0:23:37 > 0:23:41and carriages at ?25.

0:23:41 > 0:23:44And the Art Deco soda siphon was a last-minute buy,

0:23:44 > 0:23:46but a bargain at ?10.

0:23:48 > 0:23:50So, that was fun, wasn't it, Zoe and Katie?

0:23:50 > 0:23:51It was good. Yeah, it was good.

0:23:51 > 0:23:53And what do you think your sister's going to make

0:23:53 > 0:23:54of the items you bought?

0:23:54 > 0:23:56I think she'll quite like the items we got.

0:23:56 > 0:23:58We got a train, so I think she'll quite like that.

0:23:58 > 0:24:01I think she'll like that. So, Zoe, tell me,

0:24:01 > 0:24:02what is your most favourite item?

0:24:02 > 0:24:04I think the train, I quite like the train.

0:24:04 > 0:24:05OK. Katie, what's your favourite item?

0:24:05 > 0:24:07The train as well, yeah. The train?

0:24:07 > 0:24:09So, what's going to bring the biggest profit?

0:24:09 > 0:24:11I'm hoping the train, cos we got it for a good price.

0:24:11 > 0:24:13Katie, what are you going to say?

0:24:13 > 0:24:16I think the soda stream will make the best profit. The soda stream?!

0:24:16 > 0:24:18Yep. So, come on, you two, how much did you spend?

0:24:18 > 0:24:20We spent a whole...

0:24:20 > 0:24:23BOTH: ?75. No! We did. ?75.

0:24:23 > 0:24:26Ben, what's going on? I know there's lots of things here,

0:24:26 > 0:24:30but we could've blown everything and more on the giraffe

0:24:30 > 0:24:32we did find at ?400. Oh, right, fair enough.

0:24:32 > 0:24:34So that leaves you...

0:24:34 > 0:24:38I'm looking at you, Zoe, cos I know you've got it, ?225.

0:24:38 > 0:24:41There you go. Thank you very much. Ben? There's ?225.

0:24:41 > 0:24:42What are you going to do with it?

0:24:42 > 0:24:44Well, I don't think I'm going to find a giraffe,

0:24:44 > 0:24:46but I'm going to find something - I've got lots to spend,

0:24:46 > 0:24:49so fingers crossed. Best of luck with that.

0:24:49 > 0:24:53Thank you. Let's remind ourselves what the Blues bought.

0:24:53 > 0:24:57It was style all the way with the Pat Cheney Scottish silver brooch

0:24:57 > 0:24:58at ?85.

0:25:00 > 0:25:04The Norman Grant Scottish silver enamel ring was ?63.

0:25:06 > 0:25:08And blue was definitely their colour,

0:25:08 > 0:25:12with the pair of Victorian chemist bottles at ?105.

0:25:14 > 0:25:17Well, that was a bit of fun, wasn't it? It was, it was really good.

0:25:17 > 0:25:20It was, it was great. So, Emma, tell me what your favourite item is.

0:25:20 > 0:25:24We picked up some pharmacy bottles, so they're my favourite.

0:25:24 > 0:25:26They're your favourite. Yeah. Jess, what is your favourite?

0:25:26 > 0:25:28I think I'd say my favourite's probably

0:25:28 > 0:25:29the Norman Grant silver ring.

0:25:29 > 0:25:31Really beautiful piece, yeah.

0:25:31 > 0:25:33And what do you think the biggest profit is?

0:25:33 > 0:25:36I think the Norman Grant ring will probably bring the biggest profit.

0:25:36 > 0:25:39Interesting. Emma, what's going to bring the biggest profit?

0:25:39 > 0:25:43Um, I probably lean towards the Pat Cheney brooch,

0:25:43 > 0:25:46just cos it's got a great geometric design and...

0:25:46 > 0:25:50Yeah, I really like it anyway. How much did you spend?

0:25:50 > 0:25:52?253 we spent today.

0:25:52 > 0:25:55Wow! I know. Totally against strategy.

0:25:55 > 0:25:56THEY LAUGH

0:25:56 > 0:25:58I love it when we spend loads of money.

0:25:58 > 0:26:01So, who's got the ?47?

0:26:01 > 0:26:03I do. Hang on, I'm raking it out, there we go.

0:26:03 > 0:26:06?47, that's brilliant.

0:26:06 > 0:26:10So, Kate, there's ?47. Lovely. What are you going to do with that?

0:26:10 > 0:26:12Well, I have got something in mind,

0:26:12 > 0:26:14and hopefully it won't take too much of this.

0:26:14 > 0:26:16I think we've spent enough.

0:26:16 > 0:26:19Yeah. Oooh. You...canny little soul.

0:26:19 > 0:26:22So, while Kate is going to be careful with her money,

0:26:22 > 0:26:23we're off to the auction.

0:26:31 > 0:26:34So, we're in Glasgow at Great Western Auctions

0:26:34 > 0:26:35with the one and only,

0:26:35 > 0:26:38fabulous Anita Manning. HE DRUM ROLLS

0:26:38 > 0:26:43Anita. Thomas, you are too kind, but welcome, welcome.

0:26:43 > 0:26:46So, let's see what these two teams have bought.

0:26:46 > 0:26:48Well, for the Reds we had Zoe and Katie.

0:26:48 > 0:26:51Their first item was a piece of vintage design.

0:26:51 > 0:26:52What do you think of the chair?

0:26:52 > 0:26:55Thomas, I love it.

0:26:55 > 0:26:56Do you?!

0:26:56 > 0:27:02This is the atomic satellite chair of the 1950s.

0:27:02 > 0:27:07The 1950s, where there was interest in science, the atom had been split,

0:27:07 > 0:27:13there was interest in space, and this was a reflection of that time.

0:27:13 > 0:27:15What's your estimate? Estimate, 40 to 80.

0:27:15 > 0:27:17Well, they paid ?40.

0:27:17 > 0:27:21Right, their next item is the tin plate.

0:27:21 > 0:27:24It's an electric train with the Pullman coaches by Hornby.

0:27:24 > 0:27:26What do you think about it?

0:27:26 > 0:27:29The condition is not great, Thomas.

0:27:29 > 0:27:32I think one could describe this as play-worn.

0:27:32 > 0:27:36Play-worn, that's a very kind phrase.

0:27:36 > 0:27:38What have you put on these play-worn toys?

0:27:38 > 0:27:40Well, I put 20 to 40.

0:27:40 > 0:27:42?25 paid.

0:27:42 > 0:27:45I hope that we can make at least that, Thomas.

0:27:45 > 0:27:46Well, I hope so, as well.

0:27:46 > 0:27:48Right, and their last item

0:27:48 > 0:27:52is this majestic, handsome soda siphon.

0:27:52 > 0:27:55It's a Sparklets soda siphon,

0:27:55 > 0:28:00which was the Rolls-Royce of soda siphons.

0:28:00 > 0:28:03This would've been made in the 1920s,

0:28:03 > 0:28:09and that siphon would have been present at some wild parties.

0:28:09 > 0:28:11Your estimate is? 30 to 60.

0:28:11 > 0:28:14Well, they spent ?10.

0:28:14 > 0:28:16That was a great buy!

0:28:16 > 0:28:19So, these two girls have only spent ?75,

0:28:19 > 0:28:22so they may or may not need their bonus buy -

0:28:22 > 0:28:24but let's have a look at it anyway.

0:28:25 > 0:28:28So, Zoe and Katie,

0:28:28 > 0:28:33you gave Ben ?225 to spend.

0:28:33 > 0:28:37Ben, did you spend it all, and what have you got?

0:28:37 > 0:28:40Well, I didn't spend it all, but this is what I bought.

0:28:40 > 0:28:43LAUGHTER Oh, my God!

0:28:43 > 0:28:45Well, there we go, there's a reaction.

0:28:45 > 0:28:46THEY LAUGH

0:28:46 > 0:28:49It is... Actually, it is Clarice Cliff.

0:28:49 > 0:28:52There's a really nice clear mark on the bottom.

0:28:52 > 0:28:54This design is not part of the Bizarre range,

0:28:54 > 0:28:56which are very high-priced.

0:28:56 > 0:28:59This is known as the lotus bowl, or the lotus pattern,

0:28:59 > 0:29:02it's for bulbs, etc, etc, used as jardinieres.

0:29:03 > 0:29:06But I just thought it was... Would be nice, it seemed a bit colourful.

0:29:06 > 0:29:08It's horrible, like.

0:29:08 > 0:29:10It is horrible. How much did you pay for it?!

0:29:10 > 0:29:13?55. How much do you think it'll make, then?

0:29:13 > 0:29:14Come on, let's get...

0:29:14 > 0:29:16Well, I do think it'll make a profit - not a big one,

0:29:16 > 0:29:19but I reckon ?60 to ?70 is where I'm reckoning.

0:29:19 > 0:29:21Right. So, it should wash its face.

0:29:21 > 0:29:24Mm-hm. I did try and find a giraffe.

0:29:24 > 0:29:26I know you did. Ten out of ten for effort.

0:29:26 > 0:29:28It's just a shame you failed. THEY LAUGH

0:29:28 > 0:29:32Katie, Zoe, you don't have to make the decision now,

0:29:32 > 0:29:36but for the audience at home, here's what the auctioneer thinks.

0:29:39 > 0:29:41Ben's gone out there and he's bought the planter.

0:29:41 > 0:29:45Yeah. It has the magic name, Clarice Cliff,

0:29:45 > 0:29:50but these are subtle pastel colours rather than the vibrant,

0:29:50 > 0:29:54deep colours that we're used to, but some people will like that,

0:29:54 > 0:29:57and I think it's a charming, charming bulb bowl.

0:29:57 > 0:30:00So, what's your estimate on this? 40 to 80.

0:30:00 > 0:30:0340 to 80. Well, he paid ?55.

0:30:03 > 0:30:05So, let's see what the Blues bought.

0:30:05 > 0:30:09Their first item was, I think, a rather good thing,

0:30:09 > 0:30:11it's the Pat Cheney brooch.

0:30:11 > 0:30:15This woman has won many prestigious awards,

0:30:15 > 0:30:18and I love this brooch. What's your estimate on it?

0:30:18 > 0:30:20I've put 60 to 100.

0:30:20 > 0:30:2460. Well, they paid ?85 for it.

0:30:24 > 0:30:26Their second item is quite similar to the first one,

0:30:26 > 0:30:29they've gone for another piece of Scottish jewellery.

0:30:29 > 0:30:34Now, Norman Grant was influenced, again, by the Art Nouveau period,

0:30:34 > 0:30:39but he was making jewellery in the '70s and '80s.

0:30:39 > 0:30:42What's your estimate on that one? Estimate on that, 60 to 100.

0:30:42 > 0:30:44Well, they paid ?63 for it.

0:30:44 > 0:30:48Yeah. But they've gone completely out of kilter,

0:30:48 > 0:30:51off the wall, and gone for something completely different.

0:30:51 > 0:30:55Well, if you're going to go for pharmaceutical jars,

0:30:55 > 0:30:57this is the colour that you want to go for,

0:30:57 > 0:31:00this marvellous Bristol blue.

0:31:00 > 0:31:03Anita, what's your estimate on those? 60 to 100.

0:31:03 > 0:31:0660 to 100. ?105 paid.

0:31:06 > 0:31:08There's a deep, dark black hole

0:31:08 > 0:31:11and they might need some medicine to make themselves feel better.

0:31:11 > 0:31:13I think we need to see what their bonus buy is.

0:31:13 > 0:31:15I think we do. Let's have a look.

0:31:17 > 0:31:20You've spent a great amount of money...

0:31:20 > 0:31:25Yeah. ..leaving poor old Kate ?47.

0:31:25 > 0:31:27What did you do with that?

0:31:27 > 0:31:29I did rein things in somewhat for your bonus.

0:31:29 > 0:31:33Oooh! And this is what I came up with.

0:31:33 > 0:31:36BOTH: Oooh. So, this is a decanter label...

0:31:36 > 0:31:40OK. It's made of silver, Danish silver.

0:31:40 > 0:31:44OK. And actually we've got some very small, tiny, tiny initials

0:31:44 > 0:31:49just at the back here for a silversmith called Carl M Cohr.

0:31:49 > 0:31:52So, we know who it's by, which is quite nice to pinpoint that,

0:31:52 > 0:31:56so I've got you what I think is a little bargain.

0:31:56 > 0:32:00So, how much did you pay for it, Kate? I paid 20.

0:32:00 > 0:32:01Oh, wow. Well, that's quite good.

0:32:01 > 0:32:04Oh. So, how much do you think it's going to make at auction?

0:32:04 > 0:32:08I would hope ?40 to ?60, maybe, on a good day.

0:32:08 > 0:32:11Right, you don't have to make that decision now.

0:32:11 > 0:32:14Yeah, OK. Viewers at home, here's what the auctioneer thinks.

0:32:16 > 0:32:20Kate's gone out and bought this fabulous whisky label.

0:32:20 > 0:32:21What do you make of that?

0:32:21 > 0:32:26Great 20th century Scandinavian design.

0:32:26 > 0:32:27I like this, in particular,

0:32:27 > 0:32:30it's a little bit different.

0:32:30 > 0:32:33Yeah. And I think my buyers will like that.

0:32:33 > 0:32:35What's your estimate? ?60 to ?100.

0:32:35 > 0:32:38No! ?60 to ?100.

0:32:38 > 0:32:40Well, Kate's done really rather well.

0:32:40 > 0:32:41?20 paid.

0:32:41 > 0:32:43That was a bargain.

0:32:43 > 0:32:45A great lot.

0:32:45 > 0:32:46So, are you going to be on the rostrum? I am.

0:32:46 > 0:32:50Well, I'm sure, and I know you'll do your very best for us.

0:32:50 > 0:32:51Any advance on ?30?

0:32:51 > 0:32:53?40 with the lady.

0:32:53 > 0:32:55?50. ?60.

0:32:55 > 0:32:57?70. ?70.

0:32:58 > 0:33:00Zoe, Katie, how are you feeling?

0:33:00 > 0:33:02A bit nervous now. I'm excited but nervous.

0:33:02 > 0:33:05You're excited? Is this your first auction?

0:33:05 > 0:33:06Yes. Selling anything, yeah.

0:33:06 > 0:33:07Your first, Katie, yeah?

0:33:08 > 0:33:12Now, your first item, this is the atomic chair.

0:33:12 > 0:33:16It's wonderful. ?40 paid and it's coming up now.

0:33:16 > 0:33:17Start me at ?30.

0:33:17 > 0:33:20?30, ?30 bid.

0:33:22 > 0:33:24?50. ?50.

0:33:24 > 0:33:27?50. ?60, Joe.

0:33:27 > 0:33:28You're a cool cat.

0:33:28 > 0:33:30Come on. ?60 with Joe.

0:33:30 > 0:33:35Any advance on ?60?

0:33:35 > 0:33:37All done at ?60.

0:33:37 > 0:33:38?60...

0:33:38 > 0:33:41?60, that's a fabulous start.

0:33:41 > 0:33:43Plus ?20.

0:33:43 > 0:33:47Now we're on to the Hornby tin-plate clockwork train

0:33:47 > 0:33:49with the Pullman coaches.

0:33:49 > 0:33:51?25 paid.

0:33:51 > 0:33:54Here they come. Start me at ?20.

0:35:14 > 0:35:15We don't want to lose it.

0:35:15 > 0:35:17Let's stick with what we've got. I love that you stick.

0:35:17 > 0:35:18Are you relieved, Ben?

0:35:18 > 0:35:20Ben, how do you feel about that?

0:35:20 > 0:35:23Well, I feel a little dejected.

0:35:23 > 0:35:25Do you? But, at the same time,

0:35:25 > 0:35:27as the girls said when they first looked at it, it was like, "Well,

0:35:27 > 0:35:29"there's your P45, it's time to go," so...

0:35:31 > 0:35:33We'll see what happens. No.
