0:00:06 > 0:00:09a popular spa town in the early 19th century.

0:00:09 > 0:00:13Now, we're not in the health club, nor are we in a Wendy house.

0:00:13 > 0:00:17We're actually in a Victorian gentleman's lavatory!

0:00:17 > 0:00:18That's what it was -

0:00:18 > 0:00:21before it was transformed into one of the smallest theatres in the world.

0:00:25 > 0:00:28Well, less of these theatricals, let's get this show on the road,

0:00:28 > 0:00:30let's go Bargain Hunting!

0:00:30 > 0:00:33- Hurray!- Oh, thank you!

0:00:59 > 0:01:03Loved by antique dealers and vintage collectors alike,

0:01:03 > 0:01:07the Malvern flea market is one of the biggest of its kind in the UK,

0:01:07 > 0:01:12attracting thousands of customers and hundreds of stallholders.

0:01:12 > 0:01:14Armed with £300 in their pocket,

0:01:14 > 0:01:17and one hour to find three items

0:01:17 > 0:01:20that, hopefully, will give them a profit at auction,

0:01:20 > 0:01:22time is of the essence.

0:01:22 > 0:01:24Let's take a look at what's coming up.

0:01:26 > 0:01:28There's no hanging around for the Reds.

0:01:28 > 0:01:33- I'm impressed! - It's your chance to be famous. - Speedy!- Speedy!- Speedy or what?!

0:01:35 > 0:01:37The Blues are coming out of their shell.

0:01:37 > 0:01:40- Which one am I?- Er, the crab.

0:01:40 > 0:01:42Am I the crab?

0:01:45 > 0:01:48Over at the auction, there are some highs...

0:01:48 > 0:01:50- Yes!- 30!- Yes!- 30!

0:01:50 > 0:01:51And some lows...

0:01:51 > 0:01:53This is terrible.

0:01:53 > 0:01:55- It's not good!- Terrible!

0:01:57 > 0:02:00But all that's coming up later, so let's meet today's teams.

0:02:00 > 0:02:03And they're all friends who share a passion for music.

0:02:03 > 0:02:06For the Reds, we've got chums Neil and Paul,

0:02:06 > 0:02:09and for the Blues, we've got housemates Anna and Alice.

0:02:09 > 0:02:11- Hello.- Hello.- Hello.

0:02:11 > 0:02:13So, Paul, how did you meet?

0:02:13 > 0:02:16Yeah, we met way back in 1991.

0:02:16 > 0:02:19I'm a... I play guitar, Neil's a bass player,

0:02:19 > 0:02:23and we all played in bands together back in the early '90s.

0:02:23 > 0:02:26The indie scene, and all that. So, yeah, I've known him for a long time, yeah.

0:02:26 > 0:02:29- And where was this all happening? - All in Coventry, yeah.

0:02:29 > 0:02:30Coventry, right.

0:02:30 > 0:02:32Home of The Specials, The Enemy, and all that.

0:02:32 > 0:02:35- Oh, right.- Yeah.- So, it was a big scene way back then?

0:02:35 > 0:02:36- Big scene, yeah.- Amazing.

0:02:36 > 0:02:39- So, nice, yeah.- And, tell me, I know that for the past 11 years,

0:02:39 > 0:02:41- you've been a postman? - I have indeed, yeah.

0:02:41 > 0:02:43Yeah, I love it. I absolutely do love it,

0:02:43 > 0:02:46I've got a nice little round and nice people. So, really enjoy it, yeah.

0:02:46 > 0:02:49So, Neil, we've established that you both play in a band -

0:02:49 > 0:02:52but what do you do when you're not playing music?

0:02:52 > 0:02:56I work, I run a software team for a small engineering company in Coventry.

0:02:56 > 0:02:58I've been there for about 18 years.

0:02:58 > 0:03:01I like to collect vinyl, I started doing that again recently,

0:03:01 > 0:03:04I sort of rekindled my love for vinyl,

0:03:04 > 0:03:07and, erm, got myself a nice, decent record player

0:03:07 > 0:03:09and it's making a massive comeback.

0:03:09 > 0:03:13I love that. And me and my wife also like to go round vintage shops.

0:03:13 > 0:03:17We love, sort of, post-modern furniture and vintage clothes.

0:03:17 > 0:03:20Even down to charity shops, anything, really, that's what we love to do.

0:03:20 > 0:03:24Well, lads, what sort of tactics are you coming up with for today?

0:03:24 > 0:03:27Well, being in a band, we work very well together.

0:03:27 > 0:03:30So, er, I want to give him all the money...

0:03:30 > 0:03:31- Yeah. - And let him do all the decisions.

0:03:31 > 0:03:34Excellent. So, that's it in a nutshell, is it?

0:03:34 > 0:03:37- Yeah, that's it.- OK. I think somebody's here for an easy ride!

0:03:38 > 0:03:39We'll soon find out later.

0:03:39 > 0:03:42But turning to the Blues, erm, Anna...

0:03:42 > 0:03:45- Yes. - Tell me how you girls first met.

0:03:45 > 0:03:49So, we met through a mutual friend of ours at a music concert in Bristol.

0:03:49 > 0:03:52Yeah, and then about six months down the line from that,

0:03:52 > 0:03:54we all live together in our Temple Of Cool,

0:03:54 > 0:03:57- which is what we affectionately name our house.- Temple Of Cool.

0:03:57 > 0:03:59- Temple Of Cool, yep. - I love that expression!

0:03:59 > 0:04:02- Er, favourite band? - That would be Brand New.

0:04:02 > 0:04:03Brand New?

0:04:03 > 0:04:05I'm not sure I've got their latest album, but...

0:04:05 > 0:04:07So, Anna, what do you do for a living?

0:04:07 > 0:04:11So, I work as the artist in residence at Orchard School, Bristol.

0:04:11 > 0:04:12So, it's sort of all the creative things,

0:04:12 > 0:04:15part of my job is to make sure the school looks nice,

0:04:15 > 0:04:19but I also work with, obviously, our kids and partnership primary schools,

0:04:19 > 0:04:21doing workshops, mostly kind of pottery,

0:04:21 > 0:04:23but there's other things involved in that.

0:04:23 > 0:04:25And I also do community art projects.

0:04:25 > 0:04:27So, Alice, tell me, what do you do for a living?

0:04:27 > 0:04:30I run a pottery studio in Bristol.

0:04:30 > 0:04:35It's basically where people come along and they paint the blank pottery

0:04:35 > 0:04:38and then they leave it with us and we glaze it and fire it and then

0:04:38 > 0:04:39they come and collect it after.

0:04:39 > 0:04:43Yeah, so it's kind of like a do-it-yourself pottery place.

0:04:43 > 0:04:46So, the music side of your life...

0:04:46 > 0:04:48Tell me a little bit more. We know your favourite band,

0:04:48 > 0:04:51but tell me a little bit more about your band.

0:04:51 > 0:04:52Yeah, we've sort of just started.

0:04:52 > 0:04:54Quite a lot of our friends are in bands,

0:04:54 > 0:04:56and we go to the gigs all the time.

0:04:56 > 0:04:58We were like, we can do that. So, we've got a little band together.

0:04:58 > 0:05:01- What do you play? - I play bass and guitar.

0:05:01 > 0:05:03So, sort of, switch around with the other bassist and guitarist.

0:05:03 > 0:05:07- And Alice?- I write all of the lyrics and do the singing.

0:05:07 > 0:05:11When it comes to tactics today, what have you come up with?

0:05:11 > 0:05:14- I think we're here to make Bargain Hunt history, really. - Yeah, definitely.

0:05:14 > 0:05:18We want to make the biggest win, but we're prepared to make the biggest loss.

0:05:18 > 0:05:21- Fighting talk, hey?- I think it's definitely the way to go to just pick what we like.

0:05:21 > 0:05:23Yeah, we're just going to go with our gut.

0:05:23 > 0:05:26If we see something and we think it's nice, we're going to go for it.

0:05:26 > 0:05:28Yeah. OK. So, time for the money.

0:05:28 > 0:05:31£300 for the Blues.

0:05:31 > 0:05:33And £300 for the Reds.

0:05:33 > 0:05:36So, time to go and meet your experts.

0:05:36 > 0:05:38So, off you go!

0:05:38 > 0:05:41Well, a battle of the bands - who's going to be number one?

0:05:43 > 0:05:46Well, the teams are going to need a helping hand along the way today.

0:05:48 > 0:05:51Wheeling and dealing with the Reds is Caroline Hawley.

0:05:51 > 0:05:57And didgeridoo-ing it for the Blues is Thomas Plant.

0:05:58 > 0:06:01- What are you looking for?- Something musical, I think, yeah.

0:06:01 > 0:06:04I'd kind of like to find something sort of glitzy.

0:06:04 > 0:06:06Yeah, something quite glitzy and kind of original.

0:06:06 > 0:06:10- What about you, Neil?- Er, something small, something shiny.

0:06:10 > 0:06:13Definitely something weird and wonderful, 100%.

0:06:13 > 0:06:17Things are about to heat up, teams, because your 60 minutes start now.

0:06:17 > 0:06:18WHISTLE

0:06:18 > 0:06:19- Let's go!- Let's walk that way.

0:06:19 > 0:06:23- That way?- Yeah, definitely. Yeah. Let's go that way. - Come on, then!

0:06:23 > 0:06:27Well, that's quite an eclectic mix on today's shopping list.

0:06:27 > 0:06:28Good luck, teams!

0:06:29 > 0:06:31So, can you play anything stringed, then?

0:06:31 > 0:06:34Yeah, mostly, yeah. Mostly. I've had a...

0:06:34 > 0:06:36There's been quite a few things I've attempted.

0:06:36 > 0:06:39- Really?- Anything with strings, apart from shoelaces!

0:06:41 > 0:06:43Well, you can't be good at everything!

0:06:43 > 0:06:46Meanwhile, the Blues are jumping straight in with this vase.

0:06:46 > 0:06:48- You like the frogs?- Yeah.

0:06:48 > 0:06:50It's a bit of modern art pottery.

0:06:50 > 0:06:52- Yeah.- Why do you like it?

0:06:52 > 0:06:54I don't know, I just kind of like the colours.

0:06:54 > 0:06:56- Yeah, quite like the frogs as well. - We are a big fan of frogs.

0:06:56 > 0:06:58Have you kissed many frogs?

0:06:58 > 0:07:00All of them, yeah, every single one.

0:07:00 > 0:07:02- Yeah? And they turned into princes? - No.- No?- Not one.

0:07:02 > 0:07:03- Not at all, no.- Not one?!

0:07:03 > 0:07:06I think you've got to kiss a lot of toads first.

0:07:08 > 0:07:10So, this is £48.

0:07:10 > 0:07:12Mmm.

0:07:12 > 0:07:14People do collect frogs and toads and things like that.

0:07:14 > 0:07:17- OK.- So, you've got that angle going for it.

0:07:17 > 0:07:19- Yeah.- Bernard Rooke IS a name.

0:07:19 > 0:07:22Yep. What's the very best on your Bernard Rooke?

0:07:22 > 0:07:23I'll do it for £25.

0:07:23 > 0:07:24If I can push you down to £20...?

0:07:24 > 0:07:27- No. No. 25's quite good.- OK.

0:07:27 > 0:07:29- Is there a chance of a profit? Well, yes, there is.- Yeah.

0:07:29 > 0:07:31Because it's only £25.

0:07:31 > 0:07:34- Yeah, OK, erm... - Do you want to think about it? - Yes, I think so.

0:07:34 > 0:07:37- Are you sure?- Yeah. Let's think. - On you go, then, well, good spot.

0:07:37 > 0:07:38Lovely!

0:07:38 > 0:07:40One to consider for the Blues.

0:07:40 > 0:07:43Now, will the Reds be giving these a home?

0:07:44 > 0:07:47Can we have a look at this, please, yeah, yeah.

0:07:47 > 0:07:49So, what attracted you to that, then?

0:07:49 > 0:07:53- It's just quite quirky, isn't it? - Yeah, yeah. It's quirky. Colourful.

0:07:53 > 0:07:57- It has a friend.- Oh, look, you've got the teapot as well!

0:07:57 > 0:07:59- And another friend. - And another friend, look at that!

0:07:59 > 0:08:01We've got three pieces.

0:08:01 > 0:08:05- Excellent.- I've sold those lots over the years.

0:08:05 > 0:08:08- Yeah.- And they are very, sort of, pretty, interesting.

0:08:08 > 0:08:11I mean, they're less popular than they were.

0:08:11 > 0:08:13- Yeah.- So, what are we looking at for something like that, then?

0:08:13 > 0:08:17I can do you the three pieces for 25 quid.

0:08:17 > 0:08:19- That's not bad, is it?- For £25, that...

0:08:19 > 0:08:21Would you do 20 on it, for the whole lot?

0:08:21 > 0:08:23I couldn't do that, no.

0:08:23 > 0:08:24I think 25's reasonable.

0:08:24 > 0:08:26Yeah, 25's reasonable, yeah.

0:08:26 > 0:08:28- Hey, guys! - What do you think, Caroline?

0:08:28 > 0:08:32- They're all in good nick. - I think you made a very quick decision, yes. Are they all OK?

0:08:32 > 0:08:34- You want those? - We'll give them a go, yeah.

0:08:34 > 0:08:37- Yeah.- We will wrap it for you, OK? - Excellent, thank you very much.

0:08:37 > 0:08:41- Come here, young man, this is your chance to be famous. - Hey, I'm impressed!

0:08:41 > 0:08:43- Speedy!- Speedy!- Speedy, or what?!

0:08:43 > 0:08:45What inspired that?

0:08:45 > 0:08:49- Crikey. Yeah. Nice colours and that.- Brilliant!

0:08:49 > 0:08:52- Could be a good little seller, that.- Brilliant.

0:08:52 > 0:08:56Well done, Reds. Just five minutes in and your first purchase made!

0:08:56 > 0:09:00Meanwhile, over with the Blues, what does Thomas have his eye on?

0:09:00 > 0:09:01This is interesting.

0:09:03 > 0:09:05It looks sort of Oriental.

0:09:05 > 0:09:09- Mm-hmm, yep.- And then we've got some writing on the base underneath these figures.

0:09:09 > 0:09:12This is very sort of Art Nouveau, this design here,

0:09:12 > 0:09:15and then it could look, sort of, pseudo-Japanese.

0:09:15 > 0:09:17It's extraordinary, it's only £18.

0:09:17 > 0:09:20I picked it up because I thought it was a throwing knife.

0:09:20 > 0:09:23- OK, yeah.- Not because I like throwing knives, I just thought,

0:09:23 > 0:09:25it's a strange thing. But it's obviously a paper knife, isn't it?

0:09:25 > 0:09:29- Yeah. OK, cool.- A desk paper knife - but it needs a jolly good clean.

0:09:29 > 0:09:31You can have that for a tenner if you want it.

0:09:31 > 0:09:34Thank you. I think it's quite fun.

0:09:34 > 0:09:36Can you see all the amazing detail?

0:09:36 > 0:09:38You've got the face, you got a figure here.

0:09:38 > 0:09:41- Mm-hmm.- And then you've got this lovely flower up top.- Yeah.

0:09:41 > 0:09:43Yeah. Against this gold...

0:09:44 > 0:09:48..gilt-coloured background, and the flowers down here.

0:09:48 > 0:09:50- I'm quite fond.- Yeah.

0:09:50 > 0:09:51I've become quite fond of it.

0:09:51 > 0:09:54- OK.- You fond of it?- I'm fond of it, yes, let's go with it.

0:09:54 > 0:09:57- It's only a tenner, isn't it?- It is. Yeah.- Can't go wrong with a tenner.

0:09:57 > 0:09:59Or were you thinking about spending more?

0:09:59 > 0:10:02We were thinking about spending the whole lot, but I think...

0:10:02 > 0:10:03Well, you've got three items.

0:10:03 > 0:10:05If you spot a bargain, you kind of should...

0:10:05 > 0:10:07- You should hunt the bargains. - You should hunt the bargains.

0:10:07 > 0:10:08- That was our tactics.- Yep.

0:10:08 > 0:10:10It's worth a go at a tenner, isn't it?

0:10:10 > 0:10:11I reckon. Yeah, let's do it.

0:10:11 > 0:10:14- Yes, please.- We'll have that for a tenner.

0:10:14 > 0:10:17Thank you very much, that's lovely. Brilliant. OK, that's very exciting.

0:10:17 > 0:10:19- Cool.- Done!- We've been like shopping for minutes!

0:10:19 > 0:10:22Well done, Blues, your first item is in the bag.

0:10:25 > 0:10:27Now, will this hit the right notes with our musicians?

0:10:27 > 0:10:30Oh, but it looks a little bit deficient in some way, doesn't it?

0:10:30 > 0:10:33- Yeah. Yeah, it's lost a bit of wind, by the looks of it.- Yeah.

0:10:33 > 0:10:35- Yeah.- No, so, not for you, no.

0:10:35 > 0:10:37Er... No.

0:10:37 > 0:10:40Look at that, that's just exactly what you want, isn't it?

0:10:40 > 0:10:42- Ah, that's brilliant. - That's kind of what we are!

0:10:42 > 0:10:44- Yeah!- You are not a travelling freak show!

0:10:44 > 0:10:47- We could use that at home! - We could, definitely.- Yeah?- Yeah.

0:10:47 > 0:10:51Well, you are looking for something weird and wonderful.

0:10:51 > 0:10:53Meanwhile, the Reds have spotted something shiny.

0:10:54 > 0:10:59- What date's that? Have you dated it? - Not sure, I haven't dated that one.

0:11:00 > 0:11:02And what price is that?

0:11:02 > 0:11:0520. There's a big dent there.

0:11:05 > 0:11:08- Little...- Silver's really soft, you know, and it does dent.

0:11:08 > 0:11:11- Yeah.- But it's not too bad and it's very shiny.

0:11:11 > 0:11:13- Yeah.- We've got the full set of silver marks here,

0:11:13 > 0:11:15they're a little bit rubbed,

0:11:15 > 0:11:18but we can see that it's British sterling silver.

0:11:18 > 0:11:21We've got a maker's mark here and I think it's made in London.

0:11:21 > 0:11:23But it is just a little bit rubbed.

0:11:23 > 0:11:27- Yep.- And that's exactly what you'd expect - the original back.

0:11:27 > 0:11:30That's great. What's not to like about it?

0:11:30 > 0:11:31- Excellent.- I'd have that.- Fantastic.

0:11:31 > 0:11:35Can you do better than 20?

0:11:35 > 0:11:36- 18.- 16?

0:11:38 > 0:11:41- Yeah?- Go on, then. - Thank you very much.

0:11:41 > 0:11:44Congratulations, that's two items down.

0:11:44 > 0:11:45Your second buy done.

0:11:45 > 0:11:48- Yes.- Yeah, really happy with that. - So, we've got shiny.

0:11:48 > 0:11:51- Yeah.- Now we need musical. - Excellent.- Come on.- Thank you very much.

0:11:51 > 0:11:54So, whilst the Reds are sticking to their game plan,

0:11:54 > 0:11:56the Blues have spotted something fishy.

0:11:56 > 0:12:00- There's a lobster here. - Now, look. Look at these!

0:12:01 > 0:12:04- Those are pretty weird. - They are pretty weird.- They are pretty weird.- Wonderful.

0:12:04 > 0:12:06They are. Do you want to pick them up?

0:12:06 > 0:12:08- Yeah.- See what they're made of.

0:12:08 > 0:12:10Ooh!

0:12:10 > 0:12:11- It's real!- Oh, God!

0:12:14 > 0:12:17- What are they made of?- Well, they look like plastic, don't they? - Yeah, they are plastic.

0:12:17 > 0:12:21Yeah, they're plastic. They're props for a fish counter or a restaurant,

0:12:21 > 0:12:23aren't they? I think they're quite fun, actually.

0:12:23 > 0:12:27- I quite like them.- I quite like them.- Yeah, they're interesting, they're just unusual.

0:12:28 > 0:12:34- Yeah.- Got a shrimp, lobster and a crab - how much for the three?

0:12:34 > 0:12:35You can have those for 12.

0:12:35 > 0:12:3712. Could you round it up to a tenner?

0:12:37 > 0:12:40- Go on, then.- Thank you very much.

0:12:40 > 0:12:43- Thank you.- I love them. - They're weird, they're wonderful, they're just crustac...

0:12:43 > 0:12:46- I mean, they're from a fish counter. - Yep.- They're made out of plastic.

0:12:46 > 0:12:49They're basically like portraits of all of us at the moment, aren't they?

0:12:49 > 0:12:53- Yeah.- Which one am I? - Er, the crab.- Am I the crab?!

0:12:56 > 0:13:00That's brilliant. We'll buy those for a tenner. That's our second item down.

0:13:00 > 0:13:02- Brilliant.- We're smashing it.

0:13:02 > 0:13:04- So, you've spent like 20 quid.- 20 quid.

0:13:04 > 0:13:08- That means the next thing we can get can be really expensive. - You can go for it, if you want!

0:13:08 > 0:13:10- Let's go for it.- Go for it! Come on, then, let's go.- Cool!

0:13:10 > 0:13:13Well done, Blues, another item snapped up.

0:13:13 > 0:13:15Now, it's 2-2, with 45 minutes left.

0:13:17 > 0:13:21Meanwhile, Neil has spotted some retro chairs.

0:13:21 > 0:13:25- Is there any age in them? - I don't know, I don't know.

0:13:25 > 0:13:26- No.- I'm not overkeen, but...

0:13:26 > 0:13:29- No, OK, that's fine.- I don't think they're stylish enough.

0:13:29 > 0:13:32- No, no.- But if we remember where they are...

0:13:32 > 0:13:36- Yeah, move on, we've got a good bit of time left, so... - Yeah.- Let's move on.

0:13:36 > 0:13:38Keep looking, Reds!

0:13:38 > 0:13:41So, are you pleased with how it's going, Caroline?

0:13:41 > 0:13:43They've got an awful lot of money left to spend

0:13:43 > 0:13:46and they're looking for something, either '60s furniture,

0:13:46 > 0:13:51'60s, '70s furniture, I think, or a bit of a musical instrument?

0:13:51 > 0:13:54So, I mean, they could almost get a Stradivarius, couldn't they?

0:13:54 > 0:13:57- We'll have to wait and see. - We will, indeed.

0:13:57 > 0:13:58So, what have the Blues found?

0:13:58 > 0:14:03Barrels. They're quite nicely done. What would you use them for?

0:14:03 > 0:14:07- Erm, knitting?- They're quite big, though, aren't they?

0:14:07 > 0:14:11- They are quite big. I do a lot of knitting, I think you underestimate me.- Do you?

0:14:11 > 0:14:13Oh, really? What do you knit?

0:14:13 > 0:14:15- Mainly scarves.- Yeah?

0:14:15 > 0:14:16Some hats I've knitted, before.

0:14:16 > 0:14:18I've knitted some teddy bears, as well, before.

0:14:18 > 0:14:21- Have you?- But they always end up looking kind of smushed.

0:14:21 > 0:14:25- Smushed?- Yeah, because I can't get the tension right on them.

0:14:25 > 0:14:26So, are we interested in these or not?

0:14:26 > 0:14:30- I don't think...- You don't think so. They're not glitzy and they're not weird and wonderful.

0:14:30 > 0:14:34- They're not glitzy and weird and wonderful.- Let's go. - So, it's a no to the barrels.

0:14:34 > 0:14:35But you still have plenty of time left.

0:14:35 > 0:14:40We're just under halfway and we've bought two items,

0:14:40 > 0:14:42both for £10 each.

0:14:42 > 0:14:45I feel a bit guilty. I sort of pushed them into both of them.

0:14:45 > 0:14:49I really think this next item, we have to be careful,

0:14:49 > 0:14:50but it has to be their decision.

0:14:51 > 0:14:54So, whilst the teams continue shopping,

0:14:54 > 0:14:56I want to show you one of my great treasures.

0:15:04 > 0:15:06Now, I love all types of ceramics,

0:15:06 > 0:15:09but I do love blue and white porcelain,

0:15:09 > 0:15:10whether it comes from Japan,

0:15:10 > 0:15:14whether it comes from England or Germany or China.

0:15:14 > 0:15:18And today, I've brought along a Chinese porcelain footed bowl,

0:15:18 > 0:15:20and it's one of my favourites.

0:15:20 > 0:15:23I've owned it for well over 30 years

0:15:23 > 0:15:28and I cannot begin to tell you how much pleasure this bowl has given,

0:15:28 > 0:15:30and continues to give me.

0:15:31 > 0:15:35The decoration is simply superb.

0:15:35 > 0:15:40If we look, we'll see that there's a continuing frieze of figures,

0:15:40 > 0:15:45but the tonal quality of the blues is quite exceptional.

0:15:45 > 0:15:47This is all hand-painted.

0:15:47 > 0:15:51And the remarkable thing, it's all been done first-time.

0:15:51 > 0:15:56You cannot paint porcelain like this, get it wrong and rub it out.

0:15:56 > 0:15:58You've got to get it right first time.

0:15:58 > 0:16:00It's a remarkable achievement.

0:16:00 > 0:16:07Date-wise, we are looking at an item that was made in around about

0:16:07 > 0:16:121660 to about 1720, during the reign of the Emperor Kangxi.

0:16:12 > 0:16:16That's when an awful lot of Chinese porcelains were making their way

0:16:16 > 0:16:19into Europe and, eventually, of course, into Britain.

0:16:19 > 0:16:22On the base, you've got a mark.

0:16:22 > 0:16:24Now, that mark would excite quite a few people,

0:16:24 > 0:16:27because believe it or not, it's a Ming mark.

0:16:27 > 0:16:30And it's a Ming that relates to the Emperor Chenghua,

0:16:30 > 0:16:35who was living in the later part of the 15th century.

0:16:35 > 0:16:40But the truth is, it's much later, as I said - 1660-1720.

0:16:40 > 0:16:43So, why on Earth would anybody do that?

0:16:43 > 0:16:46Well, the long and short of it is that these marks are said

0:16:46 > 0:16:50to be a homage to the previous Ming period.

0:16:50 > 0:16:54But having said that, doesn't matter one jot to me.

0:16:54 > 0:16:57That, for me, is ceramic perfection.

0:16:57 > 0:17:00It's an object which I bought for £50.

0:17:00 > 0:17:02The reason I got it so cheap

0:17:02 > 0:17:04is because it's got two hairline cracks.

0:17:04 > 0:17:06But do they bother me?

0:17:06 > 0:17:08No, they don't bother me, because the truth is,

0:17:08 > 0:17:10had this been perfect,

0:17:10 > 0:17:13I would have been paying at least £600-£800 way back then

0:17:13 > 0:17:15and I would not have been able to afford it.

0:17:15 > 0:17:18From a monetary point of view, is it a good investment?

0:17:18 > 0:17:22Does it matter? Because it's all about pleasure.

0:17:22 > 0:17:26And let me tell you now, you cannot put a price on pleasure.

0:17:35 > 0:17:39Back to the shopping and it's 2-2 with 25 minutes to go.

0:17:39 > 0:17:40Spirits are high.

0:17:40 > 0:17:44If only the same could be said for the Malvern weather.

0:17:44 > 0:17:46We can go inside in a minute, because it's dead cold.

0:17:46 > 0:17:48- OK, lovely! - Caroline, you're so warm!

0:17:51 > 0:17:53We're going to stick together in this one!

0:17:53 > 0:17:58Talking of freezing, look at that gorgeous fireplace!

0:17:58 > 0:18:00Oh, I wouldn't mind sitting on top of that!

0:18:00 > 0:18:01That is so...!

0:18:03 > 0:18:05That is gorgeous!

0:18:05 > 0:18:07That is so French. Just beautiful, isn't it?

0:18:07 > 0:18:11- It's nice, yeah.- I love that green as well.- It's a great colour, it's a great colour.

0:18:11 > 0:18:14- There's only one thing missing. - The fire.- The fire.- Yeah.

0:18:14 > 0:18:16I'm imagining it, I'm thinking about it.

0:18:16 > 0:18:18I'm imagining it. Right, come on.

0:18:18 > 0:18:21Keen to warm up, the Reds are also heading inside.

0:18:24 > 0:18:26- Anything you see, Alice?- Mmm...

0:18:28 > 0:18:31- There is lots of glitzy stuff. - There's lots of glitzy stuff.

0:18:33 > 0:18:35- Shall we move on?- Yeah.- Yeah?

0:18:35 > 0:18:38Home-made Seville orange and ginger marmalade.

0:18:38 > 0:18:40That sounds quite nice, actually.

0:18:40 > 0:18:43Erm, Thomas, shouldn't you be antique shopping?

0:18:46 > 0:18:47- Bit of marmalade!- Yeah.

0:18:49 > 0:18:53Whilst Thomas is distracted, Caroline is talking fashion.

0:18:53 > 0:18:56I always spend a lot of money on clothes and I shouldn't do.

0:18:56 > 0:18:59I'm like an old woman when it comes to clothes.

0:18:59 > 0:19:01Are you? Have you got more wardrobe space than your wife?!

0:19:01 > 0:19:04- I have, yeah.- Ooh, that's annoying! - I've got more shoes than my wife.

0:19:04 > 0:19:09- Have you? No!- I have, yeah. - No!- Yep.- Ooh, I say!

0:19:09 > 0:19:12I love shopping with you, but I wouldn't like to be married to you.

0:19:12 > 0:19:13I couldn't fight over the wardrobe space!

0:19:13 > 0:19:17Come on, teams, time's ticking.

0:19:18 > 0:19:20That would have been a lovely clock.

0:19:20 > 0:19:21Gorgeous thing.

0:19:21 > 0:19:23It's so badly damaged.

0:19:23 > 0:19:25- Yeah.- Alabaster does crack so easily.

0:19:25 > 0:19:28It's a bit, sort of, like a poor man's marble.

0:19:28 > 0:19:29Oh, lovely thing!

0:19:29 > 0:19:31- Yeah.- What do you think about this?

0:19:33 > 0:19:37- Oh, right, yes!- I keep falling on these trunks.- You're the trunk man.

0:19:37 > 0:19:41The trunk man, apparently, yeah. I don't know what it is about them, I don't know.

0:19:41 > 0:19:46Well, like I say, that is... You can keep stuff in it, it can be a coffee table, it's multi-use.

0:19:46 > 0:19:47Yeah. It's got the original finish on it.

0:19:47 > 0:19:49It's got the original finish on it.

0:19:49 > 0:19:51- Do you want me to have a look inside?- Yeah.

0:19:51 > 0:19:55- Have a look inside, yeah. - It's missing its lock.

0:19:55 > 0:19:58- Yeah. Yeah, for me... - Yeah, the lock's gone.

0:19:58 > 0:20:00- No, for me.- OK.- And it's scrumbled.

0:20:00 > 0:20:03- Waste of time looking at that. it's not for sale.- Oh!

0:20:05 > 0:20:06Bad luck, Reds!

0:20:08 > 0:20:10Meanwhile, the Blues have spotted some silver.

0:20:12 > 0:20:16- I wonder how much it is. - What are you looking at?

0:20:16 > 0:20:18- This one here?- Yeah, and what do you think it is?

0:20:18 > 0:20:20Erm, I'm not sure.

0:20:20 > 0:20:22Well, pick it up and have a look, come on.

0:20:24 > 0:20:29So, that's...going to be a cream, isn't it?

0:20:29 > 0:20:31- Yeah.- Or milk. Yeah?

0:20:31 > 0:20:34What's the other thing, Anna? Do you want to pick that up?

0:20:34 > 0:20:37- Have a look.- Have a look. What would you put in there?- Sugar?

0:20:37 > 0:20:38Sugar, yeah, absolutely.

0:20:38 > 0:20:42And so, what do you normally have with sugar and cream?

0:20:42 > 0:20:45- Strawberries?!- Strawberries, yeah.

0:20:45 > 0:20:48- Strawberries.- What does he say on his bumf here?

0:20:48 > 0:20:51It says, "stunning, superb, solid silver, strawberry set,

0:20:51 > 0:20:53"made in Lindisfarne silver..."

0:20:53 > 0:20:57It's £399. You haven't got £399.

0:20:57 > 0:20:59- We haven't got that.- But you've got very close to it, though.

0:20:59 > 0:21:02But it is solid silver. It's rather fun, actually.

0:21:02 > 0:21:05- But you haven't got that sort of money.- Quite a high price tag. No.

0:21:05 > 0:21:11- You haven't got that.- No. We haven't. We don't, at all. - But you've got 280 quid.

0:21:11 > 0:21:13- We have got 280 quid. - You could do a deal.

0:21:13 > 0:21:15You could see what his best offer is.

0:21:15 > 0:21:17- OK.- Remember, you've got to leave me a pound.

0:21:17 > 0:21:20- OK.- Or a fiver. So, there's something.

0:21:20 > 0:21:23I think we should leave you with £5.

0:21:23 > 0:21:25- Something.- Shall we...? - Why don't you go and have an ask?

0:21:25 > 0:21:28- Yeah.- And see, present him with that.

0:21:28 > 0:21:32- Yeah.- And, you know, don't be afraid to ask for, you know,

0:21:32 > 0:21:34- a good discount.- Yeah. OK.

0:21:35 > 0:21:38Off you go, girls. So, what's the plan, Reds?

0:21:40 > 0:21:42You know I was talking about maths earlier

0:21:42 > 0:21:44and saying that we'd done two-thirds in a third of our time?

0:21:44 > 0:21:47Well, now, we've had two-thirds of our time...

0:21:47 > 0:21:48Okey dokey. So, we're on track.

0:21:48 > 0:21:52- Yeah, we're on track now. - We've got 20 minutes left... - OK.- We've got one item to buy.

0:21:52 > 0:21:56- Excellent.- What are your thoughts? - Help!- Yeah! Help! Yeah!

0:21:58 > 0:22:01Now, how are the Blues getting on with their negotiations?

0:22:02 > 0:22:05What is the, like, bottom, bottom line?

0:22:05 > 0:22:07The bottom, bottom line!

0:22:07 > 0:22:09Because we're restricted with what we have.

0:22:09 > 0:22:11- Yeah, you...- Go on, then, how much have you got?

0:22:11 > 0:22:17- It's 275. - Is what we've got left.- Wow.- Yes.

0:22:19 > 0:22:23So, if I did it at 275, would you be happy?

0:22:23 > 0:22:27- Yeah, we would.- Yeah. - OK, I will do that at 275.

0:22:27 > 0:22:30- Will you actually?- Yeah, absolutely. - Oh, thank you!- That's easy, isn't it?- Yeah!

0:22:30 > 0:22:33- I'm so easy to deal with.- Thank you! - Thank you ever so much, thank you.

0:22:33 > 0:22:37Congratulations, Blues, that's all three items done and dusted.

0:22:37 > 0:22:39Well done for getting such a massive discount.

0:22:39 > 0:22:43- Thank you, yeah, brilliant.- It's amazing, isn't it?- It is.- Do you know what...- Thank you.

0:22:43 > 0:22:46I need... I need more than a cup of tea.

0:22:46 > 0:22:48- Yep.- I need a piece of cake, as well.- Let's go for it!

0:22:50 > 0:22:54Now, come on, Reds, you have 15 minutes left to get that final buy.

0:22:55 > 0:22:58To me, it looks from the '20s, '30s...

0:22:58 > 0:23:00- Yeah, yep.- But it has a very contemporary look to it.

0:23:00 > 0:23:03- Yeah.- Would look great today, wouldn't it, anywhere?- Yes.

0:23:03 > 0:23:06Ah, now, I think this might be plated.

0:23:06 > 0:23:11- In fact, I can tell by feel, that's not silver, that's plate.- OK.

0:23:11 > 0:23:13Now, this is later altogether.

0:23:13 > 0:23:15That will be late Victorian, I would say.

0:23:15 > 0:23:17- Sure, yeah.- Late 19th century.

0:23:17 > 0:23:20This one, without looking up the marks,

0:23:20 > 0:23:24- could you see they're a bit rubbed? - Yep.- Yeah.- They're very rubbed.

0:23:24 > 0:23:29- It's quite a modern one. It's 1980, I think, that one.- 1980, is it?

0:23:29 > 0:23:32- Yes, quite late.- It's been very well looked after...

0:23:32 > 0:23:36- It's Garrard's. Yeah, it is Garrard's.- Oh, right, so it's a great make.- Yeah.

0:23:36 > 0:23:40What's the desirable price on that one?

0:23:40 > 0:23:43- Good sir!- The best I could do on that is 75.

0:23:43 > 0:23:46- As the gentleman...- And that's the very, very, very...

0:23:46 > 0:23:49That is the very best. Very best. I did have 100 on it.

0:23:49 > 0:23:5075 is my best.

0:23:50 > 0:23:53I mean, that is 1920s, this one here.

0:23:53 > 0:23:55Yes, yeah. But it's plate, that one, is it?

0:23:55 > 0:23:58- No, that's not.- Is that one silver, as well?

0:23:58 > 0:24:00Ooh, I didn't have my glasses properly.

0:24:00 > 0:24:03- There you go.- Oh, my goodness, yes, it is, yeah.

0:24:03 > 0:24:05And that's goldsmiths and silversmiths.

0:24:05 > 0:24:10- That is the gold cartouche on there. - Yeah, ah...- And a gilded little handle on it.

0:24:10 > 0:24:13- That is beautiful.- Yes. - And how much is that?

0:24:13 > 0:24:17- The best I could do on that is 100. - 100?- I think with the ornate part,

0:24:17 > 0:24:19it's got a bit more about it than that one.

0:24:19 > 0:24:23- So we're going to put this one down? - What do you think, Paul?- Yeah. I think that one's the better one.

0:24:23 > 0:24:26- You do?- You wouldn't take a cheeky 90 for that one?

0:24:27 > 0:24:29I'll do 95 and that's my absolute bottom.

0:24:31 > 0:24:34- Yeah.- I love that one.- Yeah, that one for me.- Is that a yes from both?

0:24:34 > 0:24:39- Yeah.- Yeah, definitely.- Yes! - Yes?- Thank you.- Thank you.

0:24:40 > 0:24:41Great stuff. I'll wrap it up.

0:24:41 > 0:24:45- Cheers.- Well done, Reds, that's your three items in the bag.

0:24:45 > 0:24:47WHISTLE BLASTING

0:24:47 > 0:24:49Teams, your time's up!

0:24:49 > 0:24:52We've got two silver items and the little China item.

0:24:52 > 0:24:54- Yep.- Haven't got anything musical.

0:24:54 > 0:24:56- No. No.- But you can always keep your plectrums in it!

0:24:56 > 0:24:59- Absolutely, yeah.- Definitely. - Absolutely.- Shall we go and find that hot choc?

0:24:59 > 0:25:01Yeah, let's go and get it.

0:25:01 > 0:25:02Let's see what the Reds bought.

0:25:04 > 0:25:08First up, for £25, was this three-piece cottage tea set.

0:25:10 > 0:25:15They snapped up a 1920s silver photo frame, at £16.

0:25:16 > 0:25:20And finally, a silver box, for £95.

0:25:21 > 0:25:23So, gentlemen, did you have a good time?

0:25:23 > 0:25:27- We had a fantastic time.- It's been fantastic, absolutely loved it.

0:25:27 > 0:25:28So, you were very decisive.

0:25:28 > 0:25:32I mean, you got your first two items in quick time, didn't you?

0:25:32 > 0:25:33Very quick. Very, very quick.

0:25:33 > 0:25:36Gave us that extra time to get that big third item, so...

0:25:36 > 0:25:40- Yeah!- So, what's your favourite item?

0:25:40 > 0:25:43- Er, the silver box, the last item. - And what about the item that you

0:25:43 > 0:25:45think is going to give you the biggest profit?

0:25:45 > 0:25:48- The silver picture frame. - Right, OK.

0:25:48 > 0:25:51- And same question?- Yeah, I think the silver picture frame

0:25:51 > 0:25:53will definitely, I think, make the most money.

0:25:53 > 0:25:56Our favourite item was the silver box. It's just a quality piece.

0:25:56 > 0:25:58So, how much did you spend?

0:25:58 > 0:25:59We spent £136.

0:25:59 > 0:26:03Which means you're going to given me £164.

0:26:03 > 0:26:04£164, there we go.

0:26:04 > 0:26:08OK. Being the remainder, which is with me for a very brief

0:26:08 > 0:26:11moment in time. Straight into the hands of Caroline.

0:26:11 > 0:26:15- Yes.- Caroline, any idea what you're going to be spending that money on?

0:26:15 > 0:26:18It all happened so quickly, I haven't seen anything.

0:26:18 > 0:26:20But I'm going to try very hard to get you something good.

0:26:20 > 0:26:24- OK.- Good stuff.- So, let's now find out what the Blue team bought.

0:26:26 > 0:26:29This metal letter opener cost them £10.

0:26:32 > 0:26:34Next, they pinched another bargain for £10,

0:26:34 > 0:26:36with these plastic crustaceans.

0:26:38 > 0:26:40And finally, they splashed out on something shiny,

0:26:40 > 0:26:46with this silver jewellery set, costing them a whopping £275.

0:26:46 > 0:26:48So, ladies, did we have fun?

0:26:48 > 0:26:51- Yeah, absolutely.- Yeah, we had loads of fun.- You did, as well.

0:26:51 > 0:26:53I have to say, you started off small-time.

0:26:53 > 0:26:56- We did.- But you ended up big-time!

0:26:56 > 0:26:58- Yep. Yeah. It's fair to say.- Yeah?

0:26:58 > 0:27:01- Yeah.- So, Anna, what's your favourite purchase?

0:27:01 > 0:27:06I think my favourite purchase is definitely the three sea creatures.

0:27:06 > 0:27:09Right, OK, and what do you think is going to give you

0:27:09 > 0:27:12- the biggest profit? - I think maybe the letter knife.

0:27:12 > 0:27:17I think it's really, really beautiful and hopefully, other people will see that, too.

0:27:17 > 0:27:21- Alice, what's your favourite item? - Er, my favourite item is probably the letter opener,

0:27:21 > 0:27:24just because I think it's really nice and detailed and interesting.

0:27:24 > 0:27:27And I probably think that it'll make the most profit, as well.

0:27:27 > 0:27:29So, how much did you spend, ladies?

0:27:29 > 0:27:35- Er, we spent...£295.- £5, please.

0:27:36 > 0:27:42Thank you very much. Thomas, do what you can with a £5 note, if you will.

0:27:42 > 0:27:47I love a fiver. It's such a great bargaining tool.

0:27:47 > 0:27:51- Thanks, girls.- So, while Thomas goes to spend his £5 note,

0:27:51 > 0:27:53we're going off to the auction.

0:28:03 > 0:28:08Well, we've literally popped around the corner to the Malvern saleroom.

0:28:08 > 0:28:12And we're with the boss, the man himself, Mr Philip Serrell!

0:28:12 > 0:28:15- So lovely to see you, Phil. - Eric, great to see you, too.

0:28:15 > 0:28:19Well, let's get down to business, let's start off with the Reds. This is Paul and Neil.

0:28:19 > 0:28:23Their first lot is a group of cottage ware.

0:28:23 > 0:28:25The demand for these has waned a little bit.

0:28:25 > 0:28:28- Yep.- I think it would have been a little bit better

0:28:28 > 0:28:32if we could have had a teapot, a milk and a sugar.

0:28:32 > 0:28:34We've got a bit of a mishmash of what we've got here.

0:28:34 > 0:28:36I've might put an estimate on them of £20-£40.

0:28:36 > 0:28:39- What did they pay?- £25. So, they're in with a chance, aren't they?

0:28:39 > 0:28:41Absolutely, yeah. In with a shout.

0:28:41 > 0:28:43OK, what about the silver photo frame?

0:28:43 > 0:28:46- That's the next item. - Well, what can't speak can't lie

0:28:46 > 0:28:51and it is what it is what it is, isn't it? I mean, it's just a little hallmarked silver frame.

0:28:51 > 0:28:55I think we've put £10-£15 on it and that's based on metal value, really.

0:28:55 > 0:29:01- Is that right?- Yeah.- So, they actually paid 16 for it, so...

0:29:01 > 0:29:03- Yeah.- Again, they're in with a sniff on that one.

0:29:03 > 0:29:04Yeah, in with a shout, in with a shout.

0:29:04 > 0:29:07All right. And finally, for the Reds,

0:29:07 > 0:29:09we've got their silver cigarette box.

0:29:09 > 0:29:12That just smells of quality, doesn't it?

0:29:12 > 0:29:14- Mmm.- It's a really good quality thing.

0:29:14 > 0:29:16- Got a nice engine to it. - Yeah. It's a really good thing.

0:29:16 > 0:29:20I like that. Made just after the Second World War -

0:29:20 > 0:29:22I think that's going to make £50-£80.

0:29:22 > 0:29:25OK, well, they took a real chance on that one,

0:29:25 > 0:29:28because they paid £95 for it.

0:29:28 > 0:29:32So, having said all that, Phil, it looks as though this team is

0:29:32 > 0:29:34going to be looking to its bonus buy.

0:29:34 > 0:29:37So, let's find out exactly what it is.

0:29:39 > 0:29:42Well, Paul and Neil, you left Caroline £164,

0:29:42 > 0:29:44to go out and spend for the bonus buy.

0:29:44 > 0:29:47Caroline, show 'em what you bought.

0:29:48 > 0:29:54- Ah!- Ooh!- It's an ancient ashtray! - It is NOT an ancient ashtray!

0:29:54 > 0:29:57This is a lovely piece of Art Nouveau

0:29:57 > 0:29:59and do you have any idea who made it?

0:29:59 > 0:30:02- No idea.- No idea, no idea.

0:30:02 > 0:30:06WMF. This company specialised in Art Nouveau metalware.

0:30:06 > 0:30:08This is an ink well.

0:30:08 > 0:30:10- Ah.- So, we lift that out, it's actually missing...

0:30:10 > 0:30:12It will have had a little glass container in there.

0:30:12 > 0:30:18- OK.- And it's an interesting thing for people that collect either WMF,

0:30:18 > 0:30:21Art Nouveau... It's a beautiful decorative thing.

0:30:21 > 0:30:26- And how much did you pay for it?- Ah! How much do you THINK I paid for it?

0:30:26 > 0:30:31I reckon about 50, 60. It looks quite nice, up close.

0:30:31 > 0:30:34Right. Good! You can get as close as you like!

0:30:34 > 0:30:38- 25.- And how much do you think it might fetch at the old auction?

0:30:38 > 0:30:42- I think it could get 45. - Oh.- OK.

0:30:42 > 0:30:45Well, gentlemen, you don't have to make up your minds now.

0:30:45 > 0:30:47You can wait until we're actually on-site.

0:30:47 > 0:30:51But meanwhile, let's go and find out what our auctioneer has to say about

0:30:51 > 0:30:52Caroline's bonus buy.

0:30:54 > 0:30:57So, here's Caroline's bonus buy, Phil.

0:30:58 > 0:31:00Nice little Art Nouveau, sort of, ink tray, isn't it, really?

0:31:00 > 0:31:03- It is.- WMF? - WMF, yeah, the very same.

0:31:03 > 0:31:07Shall I just plonk it down? Now, I can never get this right...

0:31:07 > 0:31:11- WMF stands for...- The Wurttembergische Metallwarenfabrik.

0:31:11 > 0:31:16- Right, OK.- OK, all right, but you know, WMF, for the sake of it.

0:31:16 > 0:31:17Yeah, WMF. I like WMF a lot, lot better, Eric(!)

0:31:17 > 0:31:19- You do, do you?- Yeah, I do.

0:31:19 > 0:31:23I quite like that. It's popular stuff and I think it's going to make

0:31:23 > 0:31:26- between £30-£50. - OK, well, that's good news,

0:31:26 > 0:31:30because Caroline went and paid a mere £25 for it.

0:31:30 > 0:31:32Right, Phil, that's it for the Reds. Erm, here's the Blues.

0:31:32 > 0:31:34This is Anna and Alice

0:31:34 > 0:31:38and I think it's fair to say these ladies think outside the box.

0:31:38 > 0:31:43Absolutely right. I mean, fantastic. And what a variety.

0:31:43 > 0:31:46Well, the first up, actually, is the paper knife.

0:31:46 > 0:31:50Little paper knife, I mean, it is what it is.

0:31:50 > 0:31:52I think it's going to make £5-£10.

0:31:52 > 0:31:55Oh! Well, they paid ten for it, so, you know,

0:31:55 > 0:31:57let's keep fingers crossed on that one.

0:31:57 > 0:32:03- Yeah.- Second up is the crayfish, it's the lobster, it's the crab,

0:32:03 > 0:32:06- I mean...- Inspirational, Eric. - Crustacea Are Us!

0:32:06 > 0:32:08We toyed with the idea of putting these on the front cover

0:32:08 > 0:32:12- of the catalogue. I mean, I just love them to bits.- Right.- I think they're going to make £20-£40.

0:32:12 > 0:32:15- Oh!- What did they pay for those? - That's happy days are here again,

0:32:15 > 0:32:18because they paid a tenner for the three.

0:32:18 > 0:32:22- Really?- So, yeah, that's... We'll be watching that one very carefully.

0:32:22 > 0:32:27- That's good, that's good.- But now, we've got the silver strawberry set

0:32:27 > 0:32:30- in its original case. - Well, if you want to buy quality,

0:32:30 > 0:32:32this just is... it's fantastic quality.

0:32:32 > 0:32:34You've got this, sort of, Lindisfarne...

0:32:34 > 0:32:37It's all based on the silver that was produced at Lindisfarne.

0:32:37 > 0:32:40- Mm-hmm.- I love this band around here.

0:32:40 > 0:32:44We've put £100-£150 on it, so we're quite bullish about that,

0:32:44 > 0:32:47- we think.- Well, the girls were even more bullish,

0:32:47 > 0:32:53because they went out and spent a stonking £275, Phil, on that.

0:32:53 > 0:32:55# There may be trouble ahead... #

0:32:55 > 0:32:57There may well be trouble ahead!

0:32:57 > 0:33:00But it looks like they maybe need that bonus buy,

0:33:00 > 0:33:04so let's find out what Thomas bought for the Blues.

0:33:05 > 0:33:09Well, a pair of big spenders, hey?!

0:33:09 > 0:33:11What do we say?!

0:33:11 > 0:33:13How much did we spend there, come on?!

0:33:13 > 0:33:14Er, we... We went for it.

0:33:14 > 0:33:17We spent £295.

0:33:17 > 0:33:22And you gave Tom here, our man of the moment, such a challenge!

0:33:22 > 0:33:26I mean, you go round the pound stalls, and you think, no,

0:33:26 > 0:33:29I can't buy you something for a pound, I really can't.

0:33:29 > 0:33:30But I managed to spend it...

0:33:30 > 0:33:32- Brilliant.- Yeah, lovely!- ..all!

0:33:32 > 0:33:34Here we are, girls.

0:33:34 > 0:33:38So, these are a pair of Georgian-style shoe buckles

0:33:38 > 0:33:41- in marcasite. - Oh.- They're rather fun, aren't they?

0:33:41 > 0:33:44- They are, yeah. - They look really nice. - Can you see them on your shoes?

0:33:44 > 0:33:49- Yeah, definitely.- Yeah? - Yeah, 100%.- Sparkle everything up. Now, these cost me £5.

0:33:49 > 0:33:51- That's a bargain. - They were marked up a lot more,

0:33:51 > 0:33:54- but I managed to do a deal. - Brilliant.- Fantastic.

0:33:54 > 0:33:56- Yeah?- So, how much do you think they're going to make at auction?

0:33:56 > 0:34:00- They're definitely going to double. - OK, brill.- Definitely going to double.- Excellent.

0:34:00 > 0:34:05There's lots of people who collect these shoe buckles out there and there's jewellery collectors, etc.

0:34:05 > 0:34:09But I think these have got a very fair chance. And I love the fiver challenge.

0:34:09 > 0:34:13- Excellent, you're welcome.- We had complete faith in you.- Thank you!

0:34:13 > 0:34:16Well, as always, you don't have to make your decision until you've sold

0:34:16 > 0:34:17your full three items.

0:34:17 > 0:34:21But in the meantime, let's find out what our auctioneer has to say about
