:06:39. > :06:52.

:06:52. > :06:56.OK, I have got hold of some of the fundraisers tonight. This is one

:06:56. > :07:02.special young lady, Hanna is 12. Tell me your story. How did you

:07:02. > :07:05.begin fund-raising? A few years ago my friend's sister died of

:07:05. > :07:09.leukaemia and she was really, really nice and she had the same

:07:09. > :07:14.colour hair as me so I wanted to do something. He wanted to do

:07:14. > :07:21.something about your hair? What did you do? I think we can get, hold it

:07:21. > :07:28.up to the camera, while! You got all your hair cut off! That was an

:07:28. > :07:34.amazing thing to do. Wasn't it? Wasn't that an amazing thing to do?

:07:34. > :07:42.You run around and raised money and how much did you raise? Over 1,500.

:07:42. > :07:47.You certainly did, more than 1,500. Let's talk to mum. This is mum,

:07:47. > :07:51.Carolyn. An extraordinary gesture? Yes, we are immensely proud. This

:07:51. > :07:55.was all her idea. We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of

:07:55. > :07:59.friends, family, colleagues, the people we hardly know. If this

:07:59. > :08:04.inspires anybody who watching who is thinking of getting their hair

:08:04. > :08:09.cut to donated to charity, because this is going to wake a week for a

:08:09. > :08:12.charity -- for a child who is suffering hair loss through cancer

:08:12. > :08:17.treatment there is a Little Princess Trust. It is an amazing

:08:17. > :08:21.gesture. It is an honour to me. Thank you so much to you and all

:08:21. > :08:25.our wonderful fundraisers for all the work to do all year round. Last

:08:25. > :08:35.year Children In Need helped over 360 groups across Scotland. Here is

:08:35. > :08:36.

:08:36. > :08:39.how the money that you gave has Let me tell you about Emily. She is

:08:39. > :08:47.seven years at the old and has a condition commonly known as brittle

:08:47. > :08:52.bone. They are easy to break. was born with a fractured skull,

:08:52. > :08:56.broken ribs, a broken arm, broken legs and collarbone. For months she

:08:56. > :09:00.was carried around on a pillow, just to protect. She was one year-

:09:00. > :09:06.old when her mother held her for the very first time. It feels

:09:06. > :09:15.really sought and sometimes I need to get medicine, like extra-strong

:09:15. > :09:20.Midson. -- Midson. It has a horrible taste. Just the simplest

:09:20. > :09:25.of things, even lifting her legs to move off the sofa, can cause a

:09:25. > :09:31.break. She has learned to live with her pain. Sometimes I pretend

:09:31. > :09:41.nothing has happened and sometimes my mum and dad say, are you in pain,

:09:41. > :09:44.

:09:44. > :09:53.are you heard? Oh, no, nothing has happened! Hello, any good? Yes.

:09:53. > :09:56.Yeah? Your money means Emily gets the care she needs. It helps to pay

:09:56. > :10:00.for a support worker who has practical help and advice should

:10:00. > :10:05.have family need it. That is how she got her two specialist

:10:05. > :10:12.wheelchairs. This one can drive by itself. I move the stick like this

:10:12. > :10:20.and it moves. I hit the sofa, a hit the doors and it goes through a

:10:21. > :10:27.little cracks. What do your brother's feet smell like? That one

:10:27. > :10:31.smells! Slimy! Emily is probably one of the most incredible people I

:10:31. > :10:34.have ever met in my life. She is seven years old and you would never

:10:34. > :10:39.think she was in any pain but she has suffered more than 20 broken

:10:39. > :10:46.bones. She is always smiling and always leaving a trail of smiles in

:10:46. > :10:56.her past. Other children, like Emily, need your help. To donate

:10:56. > :11:02.

:11:02. > :11:07.Last night, Sir Terry introduced some star performers all doing

:11:07. > :11:17.their bit for Pudsey. Tonight, we will show some of the very best.

:11:17. > :11:17.

:11:17. > :12:34.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 54 seconds

:12:34. > :12:39.First, it is the fantastic One # I don't know why you're being shy.

:12:39. > :12:45.So or and turn away when I look into your eyes.

:12:45. > :12:49.Everyone else in the world can see # Everyone else ou.

:12:49. > :12:52.Baby, You Light Up My World like nobody else.

:12:52. > :12:56.# The way that you flick your hair gets me overwhelmed.

:12:56. > :13:04.# - the way you smile at the ground, it ain't hard to tell.

:13:04. > :13:08.You don't know if you beautiful. # if only you saw what I can see.

:13:08. > :13:12.You would understand why I want you so desperately.

:13:12. > :13:19.# Right now I'm looking at you and I can't believe.

:13:19. > :13:29.# You don't know you beautiful. # You don't know you're beautiful.

:13:29. > :13:37.

:13:37. > :13:41.So or that's what makes you beautiful. # Na Na Na Na Na Na Naaa.

:13:41. > :13:45.* baby, you light up my world like nobody else.

:13:45. > :13:49.# The way that you flick your hair makes me overwhelmed.

:13:49. > :13:54.# The way you smile at the ground, it ain't hard to tell.

:13:54. > :13:58.# You don't know you beautiful. # Baby, You Light Up My World when

:13:58. > :14:01.nobody else. # The way that you flick your hair

:14:01. > :14:06.gets me overwhelmed. # The way you smile at the ground,

:14:07. > :14:11.it ain't hard to tell. # you don't know you're beautiful.

:14:11. > :14:15.# If only you saw what I can see. # you will understand why I want

:14:15. > :14:21.you so desperately. # Right now I am looking at you and

:14:21. > :14:31.I can't believe. # You don't know you're beautiful.

:14:31. > :14:39.

:14:39. > :14:45.# That's what makes you beautiful. You can change lives by donating

:14:45. > :14:47.10 to Children In Need. Text the word DONATE to 70710 and make a

:14:47. > :14:51.difference tonight. Thanks very much.

:14:51. > :15:01.Time now for one of Scotland's best-loved comedians, doing his bit

:15:01. > :15:28.

:15:28. > :15:37.for Pudsey, give it up for Craig Hello! This is my first gig in a

:15:37. > :15:43.prison. It takes me back to East Kilbride shopping centre. Is anyone

:15:43. > :15:50.here from East Kilbride? How are you people from the housing scheme?

:15:50. > :16:00.Look at you, with your funny ears. And they are your actual ears. It

:16:00. > :16:01.

:16:01. > :16:08.is lovely to be here. Welcome to Children In Need, otherwise known

:16:08. > :16:17.as a children and trouble. It is so nice to be here. I love looking

:16:17. > :16:21.around the audience. Look at the costumes.

:16:21. > :16:28.You have two choices, make an effort or who cares. You went for

:16:28. > :16:32.who cares. You looked like a stalker.

:16:32. > :16:38.I went somewhere and there was a girl behind the counter and I said,

:16:38. > :16:45.is that the BG's? The guy with the high-pitched voice. She said, I

:16:45. > :16:52.have never heard of them. Imagine if it was a tribute act with a

:16:52. > :17:01.similar name. You have been a lovely audience.

:17:01. > :17:05.Have a great Children In Need. Cheers! Now, let me introduce you

:17:05. > :17:09.to a very special group of young people, my co-stars for tonight.

:17:09. > :17:14.They have come from all over Scotland, from Lerwick to Lockerbie,

:17:14. > :17:16.from Aberdeenshire to Skye, to form our special Scottish Children In

:17:16. > :17:19.Need Choir. During the summer, we started searching for youngsters to

:17:19. > :17:25.take part in a massive singing project to get choirs from across

:17:25. > :17:29.the UK to join together and sing on Children In Need. 2500 children

:17:29. > :17:32.signed up to sing the song Keep Holding On by Avril Lavigne. We

:17:32. > :17:34.want to make sure as much of Scotland as possible was

:17:34. > :17:39.represented in our part of the performance. It meant a lot of

:17:39. > :17:45.travelling and a lot of rehearsing. We have travelled the length and

:17:45. > :17:48.breadth of Scotland to form a very special group, Scotland's own

:17:48. > :17:51.Children In Need choir. From Shetland to Lockerbie and the

:17:51. > :17:55.hundreds of miles in between, we have recruited youngsters to

:17:55. > :17:58.represent the whole of Scotland in Children In Need. And from all

:17:59. > :18:04.these schools, the sounds of rehearsals have been ringing out

:18:04. > :18:08.across the country. Gareth Malone, who is looking after all the UK

:18:08. > :18:12.choirs on the night, visited the big project in Edinburgh to check

:18:12. > :18:17.on how rehearsals were going. Imagine that by singing, you are

:18:17. > :18:21.raising money for Children In Need, every single one of you. Our kids

:18:21. > :18:25.have been practising at their schools, turning them into one

:18:25. > :18:29.great choir is a massive challenge. We have an incredibly short amount

:18:29. > :18:33.of time to get these 110 young people ready and feeling like one

:18:33. > :18:42.quiet. We have checked in with our furthest away singers over the

:18:42. > :18:52.internet. Hello, Skye. Hello! we go to Orkney now? Hello,

:18:52. > :18:54.

:18:54. > :18:57.Shetland! Hi. There are just two weeks to go before the live

:18:57. > :19:01.performance. It is Destination Glasgow for all the kids coming

:19:01. > :19:07.along to a week in rehearsal. Pudsey is keen not to miss out on

:19:07. > :19:14.the farm, but there is hard work to be done. You have come from all

:19:14. > :19:24.over Scotland. We only have a few hours to make you into one choir.

:19:24. > :19:26.

:19:26. > :19:34.feel nervous. It is our first day. We have to impress. Excited. A wee

:19:35. > :19:44.bit nervous. It was the first time we had done something like this.

:19:45. > :19:50.

:19:50. > :20:00.American style. Can you hear the difference? He is a good teacher.

:20:00. > :20:05.

:20:05. > :20:09.He is awesome. Thank you, everyone. Well done. It has been fantastic.

:20:09. > :20:14.When we sing in front of 50 million people, it will be nerve-racking,

:20:14. > :20:16.but we will get through it. When we sing on TV, it will be very

:20:16. > :20:21.exciting. Last night, our choir sang with

:20:21. > :20:24.others across the UK, but tonight they have a chance to sing that

:20:24. > :20:29.tracked by themselves. They have come together from across Scotland

:20:29. > :20:39.to perform. Here is the Scottish Children In Need Choir, with Keep

:20:39. > :20:40.

:20:40. > :20:44.# You're not alone. # Together we stand.

:20:44. > :20:48.# I'll be by your side, you know I'll take your hand.

:20:48. > :20:52.# When it gets cold. # And it feels like the end.

:20:52. > :21:02.# There's no place to go. # You know I won't give in.

:21:02. > :21:05.

:21:05. > :21:08.# No, I won't give in. # Keep holding on.

:21:08. > :21:15.# Cos you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through.

:21:15. > :21:18.# Just stay strong. # Cos you know I'm here for you,

:21:18. > :21:21.I'm here for you. # There's nothing you could say.

:21:21. > :21:29.# Nothing you could do. # There's no other way when it

:21:29. > :21:32.comes to the truth. # So keep holding on.

:21:32. > :21:36.# Cos you know we'll make it through, we'll make it through.

:21:36. > :21:40.# So far away. # I wish you were here.

:21:40. > :21:44.# Before it's too late, this could all disappear.

:21:44. > :21:50.# Before the doors close. # And it comes to an end.

:21:50. > :21:56.# With you by my side I will fight and defend.

:21:56. > :22:02.# I'll fight and defend. # Yeah, yeah.

:22:02. > :22:08.# Keep holding on. # Cos you know we'll make it

:22:08. > :22:12.through, we'll make it through. # Just stay strong.

:22:12. > :22:15.# Cos you know I'm here for you, I'm here for you.

:22:15. > :22:19.# There's nothing you could say. # Nothing you could do.

:22:19. > :22:27.# There's no other way when it comes to the truth.

:22:27. > :22:31.# So keep holding on. # Cos you know we'll make it

:22:31. > :22:33.through, we'll make it through. # Hear me when I say, when I say I

:22:33. > :22:37.believe. # Nothing's gonna change, nothing's

:22:37. > :22:45.gonna change destiny. # Whatever's meant to be will work

:22:45. > :22:55.out perfectly. # Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

:22:55. > :23:20.

:23:20. > :23:26.# La da da da. # La da da da da da da da da.

:23:26. > :23:32.# Keep holding on. # Cos you know we'll make it

:23:32. > :23:36.through, we'll make it through. # Just stay strong.

:23:36. > :23:39.# Cos you know I'm here for you, I'm here for you.

:23:39. > :23:43.# There's nothing you could say. # Nothing you could do.

:23:43. > :23:50.# There's no other way when it comes to the truth.

:23:50. > :23:57.# So keep holding on. # Cos you know we'll make it

:23:57. > :24:07.through, we'll make it through. # Keep holding on.

:24:07. > :24:23.

:24:23. > :24:27.That was fantastic. Brilliant. Are you happy with that? Yes!

:24:27. > :24:33.should be. Let's chat to a couple of our young songstress is. Let's

:24:33. > :24:38.go to Natasha. I will not ask if you enjoyed that, but I will ask a

:24:39. > :24:45.difficult question - what was the best bit of the training? I enjoyed

:24:45. > :24:50.being here with all these people. I love singing, and I just wanted to

:24:50. > :24:55.be in this quiet when I heard the BBC was coming to our school.

:24:55. > :25:00.said that without a breath! He sounded fantastic. I know you are

:25:00. > :25:06.going to knock show business on the head and be a nurse first. Let me

:25:06. > :25:12.ask you, what was the most difficult bit? At the start, I came

:25:12. > :25:18.in and I did not know the words properly. It was really hard up.

:25:18. > :25:22.But sooner or later, I got them. You certainly did us proud. Let's

:25:22. > :25:26.chat to your vocal coach, Andrew Panton. You must be proud.

:25:26. > :25:30.Incredibly proud. These young people have been working for the

:25:30. > :25:36.last few weeks with their music teachers, and it is a real

:25:36. > :25:39.achievement, what they have done. What I think is the most amazing

:25:39. > :25:43.thing you have managed to achieve, because I have a teenage boy myself,

:25:43. > :25:50.who last spoke to me about two years ago, you make them smile.

:25:50. > :25:56.Let's look at our back row, and are wonderful teenage boys! We will

:25:56. > :26:04.have more from the choir later, with a classic Scottish pop track.

:26:04. > :26:10.We will hear how others have been inspired to sing out for Pudsey.

:26:10. > :26:15.Remember, lots of music still to come, including JLS as well as some

:26:15. > :26:20.familiar faces from BBC Scotland as you have never heard them before.

:26:20. > :26:30.Next, one of Scotland's most successful bands, playing a classic

:26:30. > :26:42.

:26:42. > :26:46.track and a great song for us tonight. It is The Bluebells!

:26:46. > :26:52.# Young at heart. # Yet what a start.

:26:52. > :26:59.# Old before their time. # They married young.

:26:59. > :27:07.# For love at last. # Was their only crime.

:27:07. > :27:17.# How come I love them now? # How come I love them more?

:27:17. > :27:23.

:27:23. > :27:33.# Young at heart. # You're so young at heart.

:27:33. > :27:54.

:27:54. > :27:56.# Young at heart. # You're so young at heart.

:27:56. > :27:59.# Young at heart. # Yet not a chance.

:27:59. > :28:05.# To be a child at all. # They told us tales.

:28:05. > :28:08.# They told us lies. # Don't they know.

:28:08. > :28:15.# The shouldn't have told us at all. # yHow come I love them now?

:28:15. > :28:21.# How come I love them more? # When all I wanted to do when I

:28:21. > :28:30.was old. # Was to walk out the door.

:28:30. > :28:40.# Young at heart. # You're so young at heart.

:28:40. > :29:03.

:29:03. > :29:11.# How come I love them now? # How come I love them more?

:29:11. > :29:18.# How come I love them now? # How come I love them more?

:29:18. > :29:23.# How come I love them now? # How come I love them more?

:29:23. > :29:29.# When all I wanted to do when I was old.

:29:29. > :29:37.# Was to walk out the door. # Young at heart.

:30:54. > :30:59.And now a message from an old friend of Pudsey, Des Clark. Hello,

:30:59. > :31:04.yes, it is me. Thanks to Pudsey for making me look taller for this year.

:31:04. > :31:10.Another amazing year for Children In Need. You have been raising lots,

:31:10. > :31:18.which is great. You can make such a difference to the lives of children

:31:19. > :31:23.or across Scotland tonight just by That will donate 10, which will

:31:23. > :31:29.make a difference to children across the country. Get your phone

:31:29. > :31:33.out, do it now, then it is done. Now, Pudsey, time for round two of

:31:33. > :31:37.hide-and-seek. Now it is time to see how donating to Children In

:31:37. > :31:41.Need really does make a difference. He raised Lorraine Kelly. It is a

:31:41. > :31:46.harsh reality that some children's disabilities mean they will rely on

:31:46. > :31:50.help from family or carers for their whole lives. For them to

:31:50. > :31:55.enjoy a sense of freedom and independence can seem impossible. I

:31:55. > :31:58.want to introduce you to a young girl called Mirissa and a Children

:31:58. > :32:03.In Need project that has transformed her life and that of

:32:04. > :32:07.her family -- Mirissa. My name is Mirissa, I am 12 years old. She has

:32:07. > :32:12.a learning disability. Although she is 12 her language is closer to

:32:12. > :32:18.that of a much younger child. She also has autism, which makes her

:32:18. > :32:24.world confusing. I don't understand what people are saying to me.

:32:24. > :32:28.needs supervision the whole time. She needs to be kept safe but also

:32:28. > :32:37.she requires our attention. She wants that human contact and

:32:37. > :32:40.conversation. I feel sad because I don't have any one to play with.

:32:40. > :32:45.She finds it hard to make friends because she tends to play alongside

:32:45. > :32:50.other children. As she has become older and her peer group are older,

:32:50. > :32:56.they have got far more sophisticated so she gets left out

:32:56. > :33:03.because she can't keep up with them, understand what is going on. She

:33:03. > :33:10.has a very simple approach to life. She desperately wants to be with

:33:10. > :33:20.friends and be a social animal, but she is very isolated. My biggest

:33:20. > :33:24.

:33:24. > :33:30.fear for the future for her is that But things changed for her and her

:33:30. > :33:34.family and she was lucky enough to get a place in clubs run by the

:33:34. > :33:40.Yard Adventure Centre, funded by York Children In Need donations.

:33:40. > :33:44.For a few hours a week, the yard is able to give children, who are

:33:44. > :33:49.dependent on carers and family, a taste of independence, often

:33:49. > :33:54.something they have never experienced before. For the first

:33:54. > :34:02.time ever this year, Melissa has her unplaced ago, her own place to

:34:02. > :34:09.be with her friends -- her own place to go and she is proud of it.

:34:09. > :34:13.This is Sam and this is Emma. My best friends are Sam, Stewart and

:34:13. > :34:17.Melissa together. A to the children, this unique atmosphere gives them a

:34:17. > :34:22.place to learn essential life skills, make friends and express

:34:22. > :34:27.themselves. She is not isolated, she is not lonely and she has an

:34:27. > :34:35.amazing social life now, all because of the Yard. Making friends

:34:35. > :34:40.makes me happy. I love the Yard! have absolutely no idea how I would

:34:40. > :34:45.cope or any of the families I know that DOH would cope if we lost the

:34:45. > :34:52.Yard. It is giving a were children hope for the future and hope that I

:35:01. > :35:05.are having to turn away children every week. Your money can help

:35:05. > :35:09.keep essential centres like the Yard open. Please don't make now,

:35:09. > :35:14.you really can make a difference. Thank you. Millicent and her mum,

:35:14. > :35:24.Sally, are here now. And you for coming along and joining us

:35:25. > :35:30.tonight.! Take a bow! Let's talk to your mum first, while you enjoy the

:35:30. > :35:36.adulation. Sally, just what does the Yard mean not only for you but

:35:36. > :35:41.for the whole family? It has transformed our whole family's life.

:35:41. > :35:46.When Melissa is that the Yard she goes off a quiet, little girl and

:35:46. > :35:51.comes back a very confident, chatty, happy person and a real teenager.

:35:51. > :35:55.We are able to spend time with our other kids and do positive things

:48:55. > :49:01.the amateurs do? Or four, it was a disaster. A clash of egos? Tantrums,

:49:01. > :49:05.tiaras, the lot. Especially with the news crowd. Did they man --

:49:05. > :49:14.debate demand Smarties? You, and that was just me. But it was good,

:49:14. > :49:17.wasn't it? Thank you to them all! We have a wonderful performance

:49:17. > :49:22.from our Scottish Children In Need kids choir still to come, but first,

:49:22. > :49:30.time to look at a powerful example of how your Children In Need money

:49:33. > :49:37.My Name Is Alice and I am 15. Alice began suffering from anxiety,

:49:37. > :49:43.stress and severe panic attacks when she was just eight.

:49:43. > :49:49.feeling of having a panic attack is like you are in danger, in a way.

:49:49. > :49:53.Your heart starts to race fast. You are out of control. Over the next

:49:53. > :49:59.few years, the panic attacks got worse, and her reaction to them

:49:59. > :50:05.become more extreme and self- destructive. I started to not eat,

:50:05. > :50:10.and I got really skinny. The panic attacks got worse and affected more

:50:10. > :50:15.things. I started pulling out my hair when I was 11. I was pulling

:50:15. > :50:21.out a lot of hair. It had come to the point where I could not hide it

:50:21. > :50:25.any more. I pulled out my eyebrows, my eyelashes. I did not like myself.

:50:25. > :50:31.Alice pulled out her hair for three years, to the point where she was

:50:31. > :50:34.almost entirely bald. Her hair may never properly go back. Aged 14 and

:50:34. > :50:39.traumatised by extreme anxiety, she was referred to stable life, a

:50:39. > :50:44.project using interaction with animals to help vulnerable young

:50:44. > :50:50.people, funded by Children In Need. Over the next 18 months, her life

:50:50. > :50:58.was to change. When I first met Alice, she was a very unhappy, sad,

:50:58. > :51:05.isolated girl. I was really scared of the horses. I did not really

:51:05. > :51:09.want to handle them. We started off touching them. A by working with

:51:09. > :51:14.the horses, Alice was slowly building up her confidence and

:51:14. > :51:17.learnt to feel good about herself for the first time in years.

:51:17. > :51:21.thing I learned to like about the horses was that they are not

:51:21. > :51:25.judgmental, and they just accept you for who you are. They like you

:51:25. > :51:33.for who you are. It was a powerful thing for me, because I have never

:51:33. > :51:39.felt like that before. It has changed my whole outlook on life. I

:51:39. > :51:43.feel like everything is calmer and happier, and I can do anything if I

:51:43. > :51:47.put my mind to it. Her time at stable life has given Alice a new

:51:47. > :51:52.belief in herself, to the extent that she is now a volunteer who

:51:52. > :51:56.helps inspire other young people who come to the project. In it is

:51:56. > :52:00.really rewarding for me knowing that I can help younger people. It

:52:00. > :52:09.makes you feel like you are changing somebody else's life as

:52:09. > :52:15.well, but you are also changing your life at the same time.

:52:15. > :52:19.We have already seen why your money matters. In Scotland, Children In

:52:19. > :52:23.Need helps support over 360 charities and that would not happen

:52:23. > :52:27.without you. It is impossible to capture all the things you get up

:52:27. > :52:31.to to raise money, so here is just one story that sums up the

:52:31. > :52:37.fantastic fund-raising that takes place each year.

:52:37. > :52:43.For the last 23 years, a boy -- an academy has been a hotbed of

:52:43. > :52:50.Children In Need fund-raising, raising money in every way, from

:52:50. > :52:56.sponsorships to daily Tavern showers. Good afternoon! And it is

:52:56. > :53:00.all down to one woman, the English teacher. I started raising money

:53:00. > :53:03.for Children In Need in 1988. Because we have children who have

:53:03. > :53:09.benefited from it within the community, it seemed like the

:53:09. > :53:14.logical choice. We have sold all the tickets for today's talent show,

:53:14. > :53:21.236. We have done that every day this week, and we started on Friday.

:53:21. > :53:25.Our children are up for it. Our pupils are so enthusiastic. They

:53:25. > :53:30.see the good that Children In Need does. They are very keen to help

:53:30. > :53:34.those who are less fortunate. Ella's efforts for over 20 years

:53:34. > :53:40.has meant the school has donated more than 78,000 to Children In

:53:40. > :53:47.Need. She is a legend. She always does so much for Children In Need.

:53:47. > :53:53.A she can persuade anyone to do anything. This year, I am wearing

:53:53. > :53:57.pyjamas every day to school. I have raised over 180. Allah could have

:53:57. > :54:02.retired in September, but she has delayed it for a term so that she

:54:02. > :54:06.could give one final fund-raising push. My last ambition for the

:54:06. > :54:13.academy is, because we started raising money for Children In Need

:54:13. > :54:16.in 1988, that this year we get to a total donation of 88,000. We have

:54:16. > :54:22.10,000 to raise this year. Children In Need is a passion for

:54:22. > :54:27.me, because children are my life. I have had 37 1/2 very happy years of

:54:27. > :54:31.teaching and will miss it hugely. I will miss my pupils and my

:54:31. > :54:38.colleagues and the routine of teaching. I will miss Children In

:54:38. > :54:42.Need enormously. It is so important to us to raise the 10,000 for her,

:54:42. > :54:50.because she has done it for so many years. We wanted to do something

:54:50. > :55:00.special. If she wants 10,000, we have to do it. A real Pudsey hero.

:55:00. > :55:03.

:55:03. > :55:11.And guess what, she is here now! With her loyal support. You were

:55:11. > :55:17.aiming to make that magic number, 88,000. What is your grand total?

:55:17. > :55:27.To date, on our way down on the bus today, we heard that we had broken

:55:27. > :55:31.

:55:31. > :55:35.90,000. Let's hear it! You are an amazing Wallen. You are going to

:55:35. > :55:40.retire from teaching eventually. Will you retire from fund-raising?

:55:41. > :55:47.Goodness, no. They will not let me. And they are doing the right thing.

:55:47. > :55:57.What would we do without you? To donate 10 to Children In Need

:59:58. > :00:04.JLS. But first, another group able to help others thanks to the money

:00:04. > :00:10.you give to Children in Need. name is Jay and and 11 years old. I

:00:10. > :00:13.live in Aberdeen with my grandma and grandad and my brother. J and

:00:13. > :00:18.Ben are twins born prematurely at 28 weeks they both have cerebral

:00:18. > :00:25.palsy. Benn has learning difficulties and Jay has been

:00:25. > :00:30.affected physically. I find walking hard by myself because I I have

:00:30. > :00:38.cerebral palsy and I walk with assistance. What I find with my

:00:38. > :00:41.walking frame is that -- is getting it in and out of tight shops and

:00:41. > :00:48.going up pavements, getting upstairs, so, yes, it is pretty

:00:48. > :00:52.hard. Two years ago J was told he could be in a wheelchair by the

:00:52. > :00:56.time he was 12 but he is determined this will not happen. It is an

:00:56. > :01:00.active life he craves. I feel as though there is more to life than

:01:00. > :01:08.just sitting there. I want to go out and play football. I would love

:01:08. > :01:15.to play my -- for my school football team. Yes! I find playing

:01:15. > :01:19.football difficult. Like everybody else, they have a big space, but I

:01:19. > :01:27.only have that little box between the wheels. At the end of the day

:01:27. > :01:29.at least I try and it is the fact I tried, you know. They are all right

:01:29. > :01:34.when the wreck school and in that environment they have plenty of

:01:34. > :01:39.friends to play with but once they'd come home and the door is

:01:39. > :01:44.shut behind them that is it. People don't come in as much as they do

:01:44. > :01:48.because they used to come in every day and you know, because I have a

:01:48. > :01:52.Walker, the wheels can't go very well on the grass and when they are

:01:52. > :01:56.going on the grass I am basically stuck. If they don't want to play

:01:56. > :02:01.with me they don't have to play with me. It is up to them but I

:02:01. > :02:08.don't mind. Through a Children In Need funded project our frustrated

:02:08. > :02:13.footballer and his brother have found another passion. Music for

:02:13. > :02:17.you is a project that helps develop young people pub -- young people's

:02:17. > :02:21.confidence and independence through music. The groupies busy rehearsing

:02:21. > :02:27.for a performance next year. Yes, it is a really nice thing for me

:02:27. > :02:34.and my brother to do together. We both like music. It doesn't matter

:02:34. > :02:37.if you have a disability, autism, it is open to everyone. I never

:02:37. > :02:42.thought I was going to enjoy performing, I thought it was one of

:02:42. > :02:49.the things I was never going to enjoy but I have actually enjoyed

:02:49. > :02:54.it and I'm glad my granddad found it. It is good, I have a skill some

:02:54. > :02:58.people are totally afraid to do, like stand up on stage, just even

:02:58. > :03:03.dance, just to be even be in the choir. Never mind singing

:03:03. > :03:10.themselves. As long as I am on stage I am happy. I can forget

:03:10. > :03:20.about having a disability that I have got because my walker does not
