:02:24. > :02:30.way good evening, welcome to Children in Need Strictly Come

:02:35. > :02:45.up of mostly children. Aren't you going to start the show with a

:02:45. > :02:51.joke? Yes but I need seem help -- some help. Knock knock. Who's

:02:51. > :02:58.there? Bruce. Bruce who? You see I have been in show business 70 years

:02:58. > :03:03.and they don't even know who I am. Charlieing! Well the top story

:03:03. > :03:09.tonight is that four of BBC's female news readers have left the

:03:09. > :03:15.safety of their desks for this dance floor. How kind of them. Well

:03:15. > :03:25.we better get on with it. It is time to meet the news reading stars

:03:25. > :03:58.

:03:58. > :04:04.Well there they all are. Four of our top news reader. You all look

:04:04. > :04:12.so glamorous. But I still can't work out which one is Huw Edwards!

:04:12. > :04:17.Whoever it is, you have scrubbed up well. Instead of storing, our

:04:17. > :04:21.judges will decide who their favourite couple is and they will

:04:21. > :04:25.be crowned Strictly Come Dancing Children in Need champions 2011.

:04:25. > :04:30.Now everyone is dancing to help change the lives of disadvantaged

:04:30. > :04:35.children. We thank you all so very much. Now, on with the show and

:04:35. > :04:45.let's have a look at our four news readers and their partners in

:04:45. > :04:45.

:04:45. > :04:51.training. This is the most nerve racking thing I have done. I have

:04:51. > :04:58.been doing news for 25 years. In some ways this is the biggest

:04:58. > :05:03.challenge we have done for Children in Need. Good. I thought dancing

:05:03. > :05:10.was just doing a bit of this and it turns out it's not. The nightmare

:05:10. > :05:18.is trying to remember the steps. Travel, lift, sunshine, banana.

:05:18. > :05:27.you lose one thing, then you have lost the routine. Walk round

:05:27. > :05:32.partner, end walk roubd. -- round. One two, the first thing I noticed

:05:32. > :05:39.is Susannah has natural hip action. So there is something good there.

:05:39. > :05:47.My trousers split. He has been brilliant. Even when I el lowed --

:05:47. > :05:57.el woe bowed -- elbowed him in the face twice. My mum is pleased I'm

:05:57. > :06:02.dancing. You're a natural dancer. am so not. He is a wonderful

:06:03. > :06:08.partner. Enjoying the dance is more important than anything. Is it?

:06:08. > :06:17.The judges. I just put them out of my mind. When I think about Craig

:06:17. > :06:21.and the wiftering glare. -- withering glare. Be mercyful. It is

:06:21. > :06:28.for children. Is good we are dancing together. Whatever happens

:06:28. > :06:34.it will be fun. Dancing a special cha-cha-cha, the BBC news readers

:06:34. > :06:38.and their professional partners. Some breaking news. More news

:06:38. > :06:48.reader have been persuaded to dance for Children in Need and they're

:06:48. > :06:56.

:06:56. > :07:06.asking for your money. If they # You're like a plastic bag

:07:06. > :07:09.

:07:09. > :07:16.drifting through the wind # Wanting to start again # Do you ever feel

:07:16. > :07:26.to start again # Do you ever feel already very deep # Don't you know

:07:26. > :07:26.

:07:26. > :07:36.there's no chance for you # There is a spark in you # And let it

:07:36. > :08:08.

:08:08. > :08:18.Baby you're a firework # You have got to save a falling star # Boom,

:08:18. > :08:22.

:08:22. > :08:32.boom, boom # You're brighter than the moon # Babe yoi you're a

:08:32. > :09:03.

:09:03. > :09:09.firework had been come into my CHEERING AND APPLAUSE. That was

:09:09. > :09:15.marvellous. Absolutely fantastic. You Angela as well, a special thank

:09:15. > :09:23.you to you. You were brilliant and like me, you have still got lovely

:09:23. > :09:30.legs. Weren't they fantastic. What a team! They were wonderful. Thank

:09:30. > :09:38.you for being with us. She is such a lovely lady. Right now then, the

:09:38. > :09:44.easy part's over! Because you now have to face the judges. Oh! But

:09:44. > :09:54.I'm here, don't worry, I'm here to protect you. It's my job. Let's

:09:54. > :09:55.

:09:55. > :09:59.welcome our judges. Len, what did you think? May I say first, that I

:09:59. > :10:07.admire all of you for putting yourselves through this. You're all

:10:07. > :10:17.winners. To do this for Children in Need, I congratulate you. Sian,

:10:17. > :10:17.

:10:17. > :10:27.sharp like a Pippin. Susannah, tooty fruity, what a booty. And

:10:27. > :10:28.

:10:28. > :10:38.Angela Rippon at the end. Wonderful. Now Alesha, from a woman's point of

:10:38. > :10:40.

:10:40. > :10:46.view. George us -- gorgeous women. And that was wonderful. Craig,

:10:46. > :10:52.remember it is Children in Need OK. Sian and Vincent I thought the

:10:52. > :10:57.acting in that was excellent and actually I do like you on breakfast

:10:57. > :11:04.television darling. Susannah and Robin, fabulous booty shape, but

:11:04. > :11:10.the rest left a bit to be desired. Sophie and Ian, fantastic backbend,

:11:11. > :11:20.but stick to your day job, darling. I thought it was confident, but you

:11:21. > :11:22.

:11:22. > :11:30.need to sort out your walks. Come on. Boo! That is over. For goodness

:11:30. > :11:33.sake. Bruno. Oh girls have I got news for you. You really are hot.

:11:33. > :11:39.You should present the news like this every day. The ratings are

:11:39. > :11:49.going to go through the roof. You all did very well. They certainly

:11:49. > :11:56.did. Didn't they do well Brucie? They certainly did. Great comments

:11:56. > :12:01.from the judges. Sian Williams I know you're a Strictly fan. What

:12:01. > :12:07.does I it feel like. It was terrifying, I have a new respect

:12:07. > :12:12.for everyone who does it. Did you enjoy it? Yes I want to do it again.

:12:12. > :12:17.Sophie, what you ever consider a series? I'm still recovering from

:12:17. > :12:24.the shock of this. It has been wonderful. I would love to learn to

:12:24. > :12:29.dance, but not in fronts of 10 million people. It takes a lot of

:12:29. > :12:34.guts. Your boys are in tonight. Did they enjoy mum dancing? I hope they

:12:34. > :12:40.are still here. I thought they may have been so embarrassed but they

:12:40. > :12:45.my harshest critics. I hope they were impressed. I'm sure they loved

:12:45. > :12:51.you. Emily, if we said do it again. What would you do? I would do it.

:12:51. > :13:01.You have got the taste for it. thought they were all wonderful.

:13:01. > :13:01.

:13:01. > :13:07.Well done girls. Remember there noise phone vote. But our news

:13:07. > :13:11.readers want you to call to help raise as much as possible. Who is

:13:11. > :13:17.taking home the trophy? Each judge will vote for their favourite

:13:17. > :13:22.couple and by the way, you're all my favourites. And in the events of

:13:22. > :13:32.a tie of course head judge, Len, will have the deciding vote.

:13:32. > :13:40.

:13:40. > :13:50.results are in. Alesha who gets your vote? Susannah and Robin.

:13:50. > :13:56.

:13:56. > :14:06.Bruno? Saucy and slinky. Susannah and Robin. Craig? Sian and Vincent.

:14:30. > :14:36.Congratulations. What about me? That is fantastic. Thank you so

:14:36. > :14:44.much. She is overwelled. We all had such a brilliant time. It was

:14:44. > :14:54.fantastic. Well done and you all did it without autocue! You are the

:14:54. > :15:00.

:15:00. > :15:04.Children in Need Strictly Come Well done everybody. Hold that up

:15:04. > :15:13.high. Thank you to the wonderful couples and to you at home for

:15:13. > :15:22.watching and donating. Here is our boys to tell you how your money can

:15:22. > :15:30.make a difference. Keep dancing -- It is seven in the morning and all

:15:30. > :15:34.over families are starting their day. You take it for granted, get

:15:34. > :15:38.the kids dressed. Do the school run, but it is not like that for

:15:38. > :15:45.everyone. One in five families in the UK are living in poverty. Sadly,

:15:45. > :15:49.some of the kids in those families are going without breakfast. I have

:15:50. > :15:52.come to Littlehampton in Sussex to visit a project called Launch Pad.

:15:52. > :16:02.They believe it is vital children start the day with food in their

:16:02. > :16:02.

:16:02. > :16:07.tummys. Come and join the table. What is your name. It is free and

:16:07. > :16:11.open every morning during term time. It is really feeded here. You have

:16:11. > :16:16.the estate up the road which is social housing. A lot of families

:16:16. > :16:21.are on low income. The schools give us napes of children an also Social

:16:21. > :16:30.Services, so we get referrals from all different people. What do you

:16:30. > :16:34.have when you come? Toast. Toast. Apple. Right. And grapes. It fills

:16:34. > :16:39.up your tummy for the day you can work hard at school. Can you wash

:16:39. > :16:45.your hands. It offers so much more than cereal. It helps kids in need

:16:45. > :16:48.of nutrition and it helps kids in need of support. They follow a

:16:48. > :16:52.routine, something that is not possible at home. We have children

:16:52. > :16:56.come this who haven't really spoken or don't want to join in, and after

:16:56. > :17:00.a few weeks they will be taking part and wanting to share their

:17:00. > :17:09.news and thing, so as well as feeding them we are trying to feed

:17:09. > :17:12.them emotionally. It is just a little thing isn't it, giving kids

:17:12. > :17:18.breakfast but it makes a big difference to their health and

:17:18. > :17:23.happiness, and it helps them concentrate at school. Everybody in

:17:23. > :17:27.the photo. Children In Need! Your money is giving these kids a better

:17:27. > :17:30.start. But there are only 30 of them here today and Launch Pad has

:17:31. > :17:35.a long waiting list. It is simple really. To feed more kids, they

:17:35. > :17:39.need more staff. Which they can't afford. Projects like this need our

:17:39. > :17:49.help more than ever, because like it or not, without them, some

:17:49. > :17:54.

:17:54. > :17:58.children right here in Britain And that is why every pen wri you

:17:58. > :18:02.give means so much of we will perform or number one in a moment,

:18:02. > :18:12.but before that it is a kind of Walford magic and the Walford

:18:12. > :18:22.

:18:22. > :18:26.regulars swap one Queen for # With a way down low. Ain't no

:18:26. > :18:29.sound but the sound of his feet # Machine guns ready to go

:46:03. > :46:12.Things like that. It is not contagious. It is just a mental

:46:12. > :46:17.difference, really. A difference in how the brain works. Like many

:46:23. > :46:26.lonely, alienated. A bit of hostility towards me as well. I was

:46:36. > :46:42.He began to lose weight, his confidence went really down, his

:46:42. > :46:48.self-esteem was at rock bottom. had given up on everything, and

:46:48. > :46:57.started to become suicidal like. So, it's not nice. Nathan and his

:47:02. > :47:06.Here, trained staff like Paul are able to support and build

:47:06. > :47:09.confidence in kids with Asperger's. They also run a programme, funded

:47:09. > :47:14.by Children In Need, which specifically helps them cope with

:47:17. > :47:21.Aspirations to help the younger people. Most of them are isolated.

:47:21. > :47:25.They don't quite fit in at school. The idea of the social groups was

:47:25. > :47:31.to get them to learn together, to make friends, and have a better

:47:31. > :47:36.quality of life. Once we get them here amazing changes we see.

:47:36. > :47:38.isn't just their wellbeing, their self-esteem. Nathan has come on

:47:38. > :47:42.tenfold, in probably just over a year I have been working with him,

:47:42. > :47:49.from not really wanting to go out the house, he has been fantastic,

:47:54. > :47:57.people to relate to, keep h him happy. I don't know what stage we

:47:57. > :48:05.would be at at this point if it wasn't for them. With Paul's help

:48:05. > :48:08.Nathan is about to take a massive step. Off to college we must go.

:48:08. > :48:13.starting a new school. It is fantastic but daunting, because

:48:13. > :48:19.every day tasks can be very tough for Nathan. Like the journey to

:48:19. > :48:26.school. There is a lot of unpredictability with things like

:48:26. > :48:31.that. So trying to make things as easy and planned as possible.

:48:31. > :48:34.you don't want to make eye contact you can bring a book. It has helped
