:04:54. > :04:58.belter. Did you enjoy that Pudsey? Thumbs up Pudsey. I know that will

:04:58. > :05:05.do the business for Children in Need. Later we have a special

:05:05. > :05:12.message from Mrs Brown and her boys. Your doe naipgss do change

:05:12. > :05:22.children's lives. -- your donations do change children's lives. You can

:05:22. > :05:32.

:05:32. > :05:42.donate 10, just next tt world We have got some fantastic fund-

:05:42. > :05:48.raisers us with. Wave your cheques, folks, all the money they have

:05:48. > :05:57.Thaised. From all over. And may I say without being insulting we have

:05:58. > :06:05.some right wallys at the front. Where is Wally. Tell us how much?

:06:05. > :06:14.2,000. Where are you from? Where from Banbury Cross. What did you

:06:14. > :06:19.do? We Daid 4-hour cycle. Where do and where from?. We had a sleepover

:06:19. > :06:25.over night. On exercise bikes. you get the kids involved? No, but

:06:25. > :06:30.we have been doing a bake sale and a nursery recipe book as well.

:06:30. > :06:40.are they excited? Yes they're excited about seeing us on the TV

:06:40. > :06:45.

:06:45. > :06:52.tonight. Give them a big wave come on. Well done to all of our fund-

:06:52. > :06:57.raisers. Last year Children in Need spent 5 million supporting over

:06:57. > :07:03.270 groups in Scotland. Here is how some of your donations helped one

:07:03. > :07:10.little boy 5 his family. 18 month old Finlay struggles to keep up

:07:10. > :07:14.with his twin brother. That is because he has cerebral palsy. His

:07:14. > :07:21.muscles are constantly clenched. So he haslyle or no control.

:07:21. > :07:29.muscles are loose and we can tighten as much as we want to. But

:07:29. > :07:38.with Finlay, they stay tight all the time. Cerebral palsy is caused

:07:38. > :07:43.by damage too the -- to the brain before, or after birth. Finlay is

:07:43. > :07:47.likely to have suffered brain damage before birth. It is still a

:07:47. > :07:52.shock when the doctor says this has happened and you don't know why and

:07:52. > :07:56.you don't know what happened, why did it happen to him? Finlay is

:07:56. > :08:02.just starting to become aware of the differences between him and his

:08:02. > :08:10.twin brother. He can get quite frustrated that you know Fraser's

:08:10. > :08:18.running off down the hall at 100mph and he can't catch up as quick. He

:08:18. > :08:22.recognises that Fraser's up and away 5 he is not. You worry about

:08:22. > :08:27.what he's going to be like. For school and as he grows up and

:08:27. > :08:37.becomes an adult, how he will cope. Fortunately there is a place to

:08:37. > :08:41.help Finlay. The Craig Albert Sen eer the was set up to help children

:08:41. > :08:46.with neurological problems. It is important to start his therapy as

:08:46. > :08:51.early as possible, to encourage him to use his right hand and leg.

:08:51. > :08:56.Otherwise he will different ways of using his left side and he will

:08:56. > :09:00.forget about using his right. centre also helps children with

:09:00. > :09:07.their education. It provides them and their families with the support

:09:07. > :09:16.they need. Alex is older than Finlay, but he has benefited from

:09:16. > :09:25.the centre. I do like... Stretches. That help my legs. Trying to get my

:09:25. > :09:30.feet on my walker. It's like... Stomping around the room. Finlay's

:09:30. > :09:37.journey is just beginning and your donations can help ensure he gets

:09:37. > :09:41.help. When I went went to the sin centre, he wasn't even sitting

:09:41. > :09:46.unaided. He was just lying. I don't know if he would be anywhere near

:09:46. > :09:54.as far on as he is now if he hadn't had the help from Craig Albert.

:09:54. > :09:57.Across the nation one in 4 hundred children are born with cerebral

:09:57. > :10:07.palsy. Your money can give these children the best chance to have

:10:07. > :10:23.

:10:23. > :10:29.the full and rich lives that they Now a special group of young people

:10:29. > :10:35.that have come from all over Aberdeenshire. They're here

:10:36. > :10:41.performing as our special Scottish cleeds choir. Andrew Panton is in

:10:41. > :10:45.charge. He is the one on the right. He has transformed them into a

:10:45. > :10:51.singing sensation. Last night they performed as part of nationwide

:10:51. > :11:00.sing along with 2,500 children sang the classic Bridge Over Troubled

:11:00. > :11:05.Waters by Simon and Garfunkel. Now let's look at how it started.

:11:05. > :11:08.Children in Need would not exist the help of local communities.

:11:08. > :11:13.Aberdeenshire is no exception. When we asked children in the north-east

:11:13. > :11:19.to help us form a choir to sing for Children in Need, the response was

:11:19. > :11:23.overwhelming. 123 children from 23 schools came together to sing for

:11:23. > :11:31.Scotland as part of a nationwide sing along. In their first

:11:31. > :11:36.rehearsal, hopes were high that the children met for the first time.

:11:36. > :11:42.I'm excited. It is a good cause and helps so many people and it's just

:11:42. > :11:49.a brilliant experience. I'm nervous, because I haven't done anything

:11:49. > :11:53.like this before and I have never done its before. Andrew Panton has

:11:53. > :11:58.the task of mouldzing the youngsters into a choir. It is

:11:58. > :12:02.quiting, we have a lot of work to do in a short period of time. We

:12:02. > :12:12.have three weeks to make them from different schools feel like one

:12:12. > :12:17.

:12:17. > :12:22.choir. Really good. And # Friends just can't be found... We need to

:12:22. > :12:26.lose the Rihannas and go straightser. This is a once in a

:12:26. > :12:32.lifetime opportunities. I am glad I got in. I think we will per form

:12:32. > :12:37.well. It is only the first rehearsal today and it is sounding

:12:37. > :12:41.good. Children as young as nine have helped form the choir. The

:12:41. > :12:47.youngsters are so dedicated they have been giving up their spare

:12:48. > :12:52.time to practice in their own schools. We have been rehearsing

:12:52. > :12:57.every Friday and Monday. For about 20 minutes. And do some at home.

:12:57. > :13:00.Two week on and with just days to go, there is one last push to get

:13:01. > :13:05.everyone together again to make sure Scotland's choir is ready for

:13:05. > :13:09.the big night. They have been work hard and have remembered all the

:13:09. > :13:13.work we have done. But we are still in the rehearsal room. As soon as

:13:13. > :13:17.we're on set, everything will be different. It will feel different

:13:17. > :13:23.for them, there is light and staging and that is where we finds

:13:23. > :13:31.if they can stay focused and produce the goods. # Like a bridge

:13:31. > :13:36.over troubled waters... I will lay me down # There is still a Rhys

:13:36. > :13:41.thank we're not going to be ready. -- there is still a risk that we're

:13:41. > :13:45.not going to be ready. There are still things we need to sort out.

:13:45. > :13:50.We all think they're going to be amazing and we had some

:13:50. > :13:54.encouragement from a local girl, Emeli Sande. I found out that

:13:54. > :13:59.Aberdeenshire kids have come together to form a choir tonight. I

:13:59. > :14:03.wanted to sends a big goods luck message and just say what a great

:14:03. > :14:07.thing you're doing. I have been hearing you have been practition

:14:07. > :14:13.hard and you're sounding fantastic. I'm sorry I can't be there, but

:14:13. > :14:18.have a great time, sing out and well done. How cool is that? To

:14:18. > :14:22.hear from local lass Emeli Sande. So last night they performed with

:14:22. > :14:30.the nationwide choir. Tonight they have the stage all to themselves.

:14:30. > :14:40.So performing Bridge Over Troubled Water, we have welcome the Scottish

:14:40. > :15:09.

:15:09. > :15:19.# Wen you're weary, feeling small # When tears are in your eyes # I

:15:19. > :15:27.

:15:27. > :15:37.will dry them all. # I'm on your side # Oh when times get rough #

:15:37. > :15:40.

:15:40. > :15:50.And friends just can't be found # Like a bridge over troubled waters,

:15:50. > :15:53.

:15:53. > :16:03.I will lay me down. # Like a bridge over troubled waters, I will lay me

:16:03. > :16:16.

:16:16. > :16:26.down. # When you're down and out. # When you're on the street. # When

:16:26. > :16:30.

:16:30. > :16:40.evening falls so hard, I will comfort you. # Ooh I'll take your

:16:40. > :16:48.

:16:48. > :16:58.part, oh when darkness comes. # And pain is all around. # Like a bridge

:16:58. > :17:01.

:17:01. > :17:11.over troubled waters, I will lay me down. # Like a bridge over troubled

:17:11. > :17:48.

:17:48. > :17:58.# Sail on silver girl. # Sail on by. # Your time has come to shine. #

:17:58. > :18:02.

:18:02. > :18:12.All your dreams are all on their way. # See how they shine. # Oh if

:18:12. > :18:14.

:18:14. > :18:24.you need a friend, I'm sailing right behind. # Like a bridge over

:18:24. > :18:26.

:18:26. > :18:36.troubled waters, I will ease your mind. # Like a bridge over troubled

:18:36. > :19:12.

:19:12. > :19:17.waters, I will ease your mind. # I Can I borrow those ears? There we

:19:17. > :19:23.go. More from our choir later and they will saing classic Scottish

:19:23. > :19:33.pop track and we will see how other people have been raising money. You

:19:33. > :19:45.

:19:45. > :19:51.can donate to Children in Need Last night sir Terry introduced so

:19:51. > :19:56.many acts we were spoilt for choice. So we decided on a group who I

:19:56. > :20:06.believe are popular. Have you heard of them One Direction? All doing

:20:06. > :20:13.

:20:13. > :20:21.# Hey girl I'm waiting on you # Come on and let me seek you out #

:20:21. > :20:27.And have a celebration, a celebration, I have got the windows

:20:27. > :20:32.down # We'll be doing what we doing # Just pretending that we're cool

:20:32. > :20:39.and we know we do # We'll keep doing what we do, just pretending

:20:39. > :20:45.that we're cool # Now Children in Need let's go crazy until we see

:20:45. > :20:55.the sun. # I know we only met, but let's pretend it's love and never

:20:55. > :20:57.

:20:57. > :21:07.stop for anyone # Tonight let's get some and live while we're young. Oh

:21:07. > :21:07.

:21:07. > :21:17.oh oh oh # Oh oh oh oh # Tonight let's get some and live while we're

:21:17. > :21:17.

:21:17. > :21:24.young! # Hey girl it's now or never # Don't know the things you said #

:21:24. > :21:29.And if we get together # Yeah get together # Don't let the pictures

:21:29. > :21:36.leave your phone # Yeah we'll be doing what we do, just pretending

:21:36. > :21:44.that we're cool. # Let's go crazy! Till we see the sun # I know we

:21:44. > :21:51.only met, but let's pretend it's love # And never stop for anyone #

:21:51. > :22:01.Tonight let's get some and live while we're young # Oh oh oh oh #

:22:01. > :22:02.

:22:02. > :22:12.Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh # Oh oh oh oh oh # Tonight let's get some and

:22:12. > :22:18.

:22:18. > :22:25.live while we're young! And girl you and I... We'll about to make

:22:25. > :22:32.some memories tonight # I want to live while we're young # We want to

:22:32. > :22:38.live while we're young. # Let's go crazy till we see the sun # I know

:22:38. > :22:44.only met but let's pretend it's love and never p ever stop for

:22:44. > :22:50.anyone. # Tonight let's get some and live while we're young # Crazy

:22:50. > :22:57.until we see the sun # I know we only met, but let's pretend it's

:22:57. > :23:05.love # And never ever stop for anyone # Tonight let's get some and

:23:05. > :23:13.live while we're young! # Want to live while we're young. # Want to

:23:13. > :23:23.live while we're young # Tonight let's get some and live while we're

:23:23. > :23:26.

:23:26. > :23:30.Three and a a a through great excitement here. In life we rarely

:23:30. > :23:34.have a crystal ball when it comes to the twists and turns and this

:23:34. > :23:43.shows how the tragedy can strike, and how much the families affected

:23:43. > :23:47.Natalya was like any of the ten- year-old girl until a visit to the

:23:47. > :23:50.doctor revealed she was seriously ill, she had leukaemia. My dad

:23:50. > :23:55.started crying and I got really confused because I had never seen

:23:55. > :24:01.him so upset. When she was diagnosed it did feel like a kick

:24:01. > :24:06.in the stomach. The first thing that happens to you as a parent is

:24:06. > :24:10.the bottom falls out of your world. It is the worst feeling I have ever

:24:10. > :24:16.had in my life. Within days of diagnosis she started a lengthy

:24:16. > :24:20.period of chemotherapy. I lost all my hair, and I would have headaches

:24:20. > :24:25.from the moment I were Cup to the moment I went to sleep. I had about

:24:25. > :24:28.20 operations, at one point it was won every Wednesday. My immune

:24:29. > :24:32.system was low so I wasn't able to go out into public places. I

:24:33. > :24:37.couldn't go to the cinema with my friends, or go shopping, or

:24:37. > :24:40.anything. After months of chemotherapy treatment she was at

:24:40. > :24:47.her lowest ebb, anxious and isolated, she faced an uncertain

:24:47. > :24:51.future. We were in a clinic, and it was a year after I had been

:24:51. > :24:57.diagnosed and we have seen these befits. It's said laughter is the

:24:57. > :25:01.best medicine. We thought that sounded good. Over The Wall it is a

:25:01. > :25:05.Children In Need supported charity that runs activity camps for

:25:05. > :25:08.children suffering serious illnesses. Staffed by medical

:25:08. > :25:14.volunteers he they provide a safe environment for children -- where

:25:14. > :25:16.children can do what all children should be able to do, have fun.

:25:16. > :25:22.instantly felt welcome and looked after. All of the volunteers were

:25:22. > :25:26.so caring and everybody was smiling. Over The Wall helps children

:25:26. > :25:31.realise they are not defined by their illness, they are designed to

:25:31. > :25:38.instil self-confidence and self- esteem. We do horse-riding, archery,

:25:38. > :25:42.swimming, rock-climbing. It just showed us being children with

:25:42. > :25:46.illnesses that we can do things that other children do. These camps

:25:46. > :25:50.are made possible thanks to your donations and the selfless

:25:50. > :25:55.volunteering of doctors and nurses who provide constant medical care

:25:55. > :25:58.and entertainment. The children come back with enhanced morale and

:25:58. > :26:03.confidence, which in turn helps them get on with the rest of their

:26:03. > :26:06.treatment. It helped give her up the strength to complete her

:26:06. > :26:11.chemotherapy treatment and she is now in remission and able to enjoy

:26:11. > :26:15.a full life. Over The Wall cams are an incredible experience and they

:26:15. > :26:21.have changed my life. It is incredible they are able to change

:26:21. > :26:27.the lives of so many children that have been through such hard times.

:26:28. > :26:31.It is an amazing experience, really good. What a joy to see her smiling

:26:31. > :26:36.again. That is the way each should be. This lot have been smiling all

:26:36. > :26:43.night. Our fundraisers, look at them, they have been up to all

:26:43. > :26:49.sorts raising cash for Children In Need. We have got this fantastic
