:04:43. > :04:53.CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

:04:53. > :05:04.

:05:04. > :05:04.Thank

:05:04. > :05:04.Thank you

:05:04. > :05:09.Thank you so

:05:09. > :05:13.Thank you so much boys, that was brilliant and for all of you fans

:05:13. > :05:20.out there, they will be back later to do one more song for us.

:05:20. > :05:25.CHEERING AND APPLAUSE Yes! Yes! They will be back later. Never fear,

:05:25. > :05:27.they have guaranteed me they will be back!

:05:27. > :05:33.LAUGHTER Mind I paid them well. Now tonight,

:05:33. > :05:38.as you know by now we are going to be asking you to help us support

:05:38. > :05:42.disadvantaged children over the UK. You have been amazing so many times

:05:42. > :05:45.before and I hope we can count on your help once more. Here at

:05:45. > :05:50.Children in Need, we know that children are vulnerable and the

:05:50. > :05:57.news in recent weeks has been an awful reminder of how true that can

:05:57. > :06:01.be. We have been supporting child victim of all kinds of abuse,

:06:01. > :06:04.including sexual abuse for many years and we will continue to do so

:06:04. > :06:08.and we support support children in a wide range of different

:06:08. > :06:13.circumstances and they all have something in common - they all need

:06:13. > :06:22.your help and they are all children. Here is a short film to tell you

:06:22. > :06:27.There are thousands of children who need your help and tonight if we

:06:27. > :06:32.pull together, we can make a huge difference.

:06:32. > :06:36.Children in Need can offer support to children children who need it

:06:36. > :06:41.the most, but not without you. I couldn't go out. I always had to

:06:41. > :06:46.be staying in the house. I believe that every child deserves a

:06:46. > :06:49.childhood. Bullying isn't just name calling, it can shatter confidence

:06:49. > :06:52.and leave a child feeling completely alone.

:06:52. > :06:57.People didn't like me because I was different.

:06:57. > :07:00.Almost a third of the money you give goes to help children living

:07:00. > :07:06.in desperate poverty. Thousands of children are living in

:07:06. > :07:12.fear, fear of violence and abuse. For children who have lost a parent

:07:12. > :07:15.or a sibling, I can't take a way the pain, but Children in Need can

:07:15. > :07:21.offer a helping hand. Children in Need is there for

:07:21. > :07:25.families when they need it the most It is something you never even have

:07:25. > :07:29.to contemplate, but you you couldn't make it any better for

:07:29. > :07:33.Harry than it was. Children in Need support fantastic

:07:33. > :07:37.young heroes. I was scared and confused that I

:07:37. > :07:45.was determined to fight it. You give children the strength so

:07:45. > :07:49.they can be braver. I had no hair. It made me happy.

:07:49. > :07:52.Every year your money makes a difference to disadvantaged

:07:52. > :07:56.children in the UK. These children can't say thank you

:07:56. > :08:01.to you personally... But We can. Thank you.

:08:01. > :08:09.Thank you. The sad truth is these children still need your help.

:08:09. > :08:15.I promise you, every pound you give will make a difference.

:08:15. > :08:21.Please call and let Children in So there is a lot of goodwill out

:08:21. > :08:23.there and a lot of work to be done and with your help we can continue

:08:23. > :08:26.to help the children who need it most.

:08:26. > :08:30.Yes, that's right. Together we can do something brilliant tonight.

:08:30. > :08:40.Don't forget every penny is spent on projects right here in the UK.

:08:40. > :08:42.

:08:42. > :08:46.You can't miss the number. It is If you can't phone, there are many

:08:46. > :08:49.other ways you can give. You can pay in your fund-raising

:08:49. > :08:55.money or donate to Children in Need in all major banks and building

:08:55. > :09:03.societies or at at the Post Office. And you can visit the Children in

:09:03. > :09:13.Need website and give using your debit or credit card or your pay

:09:13. > :09:17.

:09:17. > :09:20.pal account. You can send a cheque CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

:09:20. > :09:26.The Government's Gift Aid scheme means if you are a UK taxpayer,

:09:26. > :09:31.Children in Need can claim back 20 pence for every 1 you give at no

:09:32. > :09:36.no extra cost to you which means more help for the kids who need it.

:09:36. > :09:41.You had no idea that you were a financial expert, Fearne. I am!

:09:41. > :09:46.When you phone and our lovely volunteers if you would like to

:09:46. > :09:50.claim Gift Aid, what do you say? AUDIENCE: Yes.

:09:50. > :09:53.Correct. I am glad we didn't rehearse that.

:09:53. > :09:57.Now, Terry, I have been thinking, in many ways you do have something

:09:57. > :10:05.of the Time Lord about you. Well, because I'm witty,

:10:05. > :10:12.knowledgeable, dynamic... Well, yes, and because you have been around

:10:12. > :10:18.forever and no one is sure how old you are.

:10:18. > :10:20.Simplicity itself. Anyway, you have put on weight.

:10:20. > :10:23.LAUGHTER The rest of you pay attention. Look

:10:23. > :10:33.at me when I'm talking to you. Feast your eyes on this very

:10:33. > :10:41.

:10:41. > :10:51.Welcome to a Children in Need episode of Doctor Who. This is one

:10:51. > :10:51.

:10:51. > :11:01.before the Christmas special. Hi. Don't worry, she won't be

:11:01. > :11:01.

:11:01. > :11:11.watching, she is in LA. Exactly. Roll the minisode. Roll

:11:11. > :11:12.

:11:12. > :11:19.In London in the time of Queen Victoria, there were many tales of

:11:19. > :11:27.a remarkable person known as the Great Detective. I refer, of course,

:11:27. > :11:37.to Madam Vastra and her extraordinary adventures, her

:11:37. > :11:48.

:11:48. > :11:52.beautiful assistant Jenny Flint and What? There are accounts of a

:11:52. > :11:58.fourth member, a shadow figure whose assistant was only sought in

:11:58. > :12:08.the direst of emergencies. I am so gad you came. We have news, I think,

:12:08. > :12:10.

:12:10. > :12:17.of particular interest to you. There was a a meet meteor shower in

:12:17. > :12:22.the south-west, I think it is as a result of alien intervention. 24%.

:12:22. > :12:32.Well, this could just be meteors, but it is worth looking into. There

:12:32. > :12:33.

:12:33. > :12:36.is a very pleasant tearoom in the area. There is a professor who is

:12:36. > :12:42.claiming he is going to split the world. I think we should

:12:42. > :12:46.investigate. I mean, he doesn't actually have a giant drill and he

:12:46. > :12:52.is not actually a professor and he was a bit drunk at the time and

:12:52. > :12:57.singing a bit, but it is never too early to investigate a drill.

:12:57. > :13:02.have declared war on the moon. quiet.

:13:02. > :13:05.For too long the the moon has hung in the sky. It has gained an

:13:05. > :13:11.advantage. There is no one living there.

:13:11. > :13:21.It is clearly time to act. They won't suspect a thing.

:13:21. > :13:28.Who won't suspect a thing? Moonites. Why do you keep doing this? What is

:13:28. > :13:33.the point? I have told you, I keep telling you, I don't do this

:13:33. > :13:43.anymore. I have retired. There is a man on Parade Street

:13:43. > :13:52.with an invisible wife. Maybe he just doesn't have a wife.

:13:52. > :14:02.You are wasting your time. Merry Christmas.

:14:02. > :14:08.

:14:08. > :14:14.I think he means it. Yes, my dear. I rather think he does.

:14:14. > :14:18.Damn moon. There you go, the Doctor Who has

:14:19. > :14:23.retired. This Chris marks the Earth will face -- this Christmas, the

:14:23. > :14:28.Earth will face terrible, terrible danger and will anyone be able to

:14:28. > :14:33.per said the doctor -- persuade the doctor to save the day? Yes.

:14:33. > :14:38.See you later for the very first showing of the Christmas trailer.

:14:38. > :14:42.See you later. CHEERING AND APPLAUSE We have

:14:42. > :14:46.another special documentary coming up to you soon and you will get to

:14:46. > :14:49.meet his new companion. The excitement. Anyway, there are

:14:49. > :14:56.three important words we are going to be saying again and again

:14:56. > :15:05.tonight. Please and thank you! now an enormous thank you to you

:15:05. > :15:09.lot who go to school. You are Schools all over the UK have put in

:15:09. > :15:17.a huge effort to raise more money for Children in Need.

:15:18. > :15:21.So to say thank you, we decided to give WestLodge Primary School a

:15:21. > :15:27.treat. Good morning, everybody. Good morning.

:15:28. > :15:34.We have some very special teachers. Who you like to know who these

:15:34. > :15:37.teachers are? ALL: Yes.

:15:37. > :15:44.Little Mix. Guys, let's do some fund-raising

:15:44. > :15:54.for Children in Need. Schools all over the UK have been

:15:54. > :15:57.showing their spots and raising lots! Like a garten.

:15:57. > :16:02.Your cash is vital for helping kids over the UK.

:16:02. > :16:09.So keep up the good work. To all the schoolchildren who raised money

:16:09. > :16:18.for Children in Need, we salute you!

:16:24. > :16:28.all the fund-raisers. And to all of you who wore pyjamas to school this

:16:29. > :16:35.week. It sounds like heaven. Thank you to you as well.

:16:35. > :16:39.You don't want to see me in my pyjamas! We didn't ask to.

:16:39. > :16:46.We are even bigger, either that or the wardrobe have given me a small

:16:46. > :16:52.pair of trousers! We had to do something really big, a choir of

:16:52. > :16:56.over 2,000 children. Frightening! Singing live and in Unison, across

:16:56. > :17:06.the entire nation... Fingers crossed. Let's see how the

:17:06. > :17:12.

:19:15. > :19:20.has been zg doing something we would find rather difficult!

:19:20. > :19:24.That's true. This is Ross. He has been taking part in a sponsored

:19:24. > :19:28.silence. Since 8pm, he hasn't uttered a word. I am hoping he will

:19:28. > :19:32.remember how to talk in a moment. Mum, this must have been your idea?

:23:28. > :23:36.but shall we just move on? Do you want to look at that again?

:23:36. > :23:41.Yes, we do. And next year I intend to have a Countryfile nude calendar.

:23:41. > :23:49.It will be with you, Tess, John Craven.

:46:31. > :46:37.I need to say thank you to Westlife's Nicky Byrne who has

:46:37. > :46:43.offered to do it for us. I have been given the day off from

:47:49. > :47:53.1 million. That's a nice round figure. We will put that to our

:47:54. > :47:59.grand total. Great stuff. Now, we are all scared by the word cancer

:47:59. > :48:03.and that's for us, the thought of one of our children getting it is a

:48:03. > :48:08.nightmare, but it happens and when it does, the children concerned

:48:08. > :48:11.amaze us with their resilience, their brilliant families rally

:50:08. > :50:12.They can feel really upset or scared or just angry about things.

:50:12. > :50:16.So we made a box so that she could have her memories.

:50:16. > :50:17.She could open them up,

:50:17. > :50:19.have a look at them but also close them.

:50:19. > :50:24.This was a headband, cos I had no hair

:50:24. > :50:27.and people thought that I did when I had this on.

:59:53. > :59:57.Now over the past weeks, my old pals, my old muckers at BBC Radio

:59:57. > :00:00.two have been fund-raising for Children in Need, they are

:00:00. > :00:09.wonderful supporters for Children in Need. For that, we have to say a

:00:09. > :00:13.This year, Radio 2 and our listeners have been hitting the

:00:13. > :00:17.fund-raising trail harder than ever before to try and put as many

:00:17. > :00:25.pounds in Pudsey's piggy bank as possible. Here is what we've been

:00:25. > :00:30.up to. Some of our theatrical DJs took took over the West End to

:00:30. > :00:38.raise money, money, money in a one off performance in Mama Mia. Big

:00:38. > :00:43.names gave up their time for a Weekend Wogan Live. This lot stood

:01:44. > :01:47.That's astonishing. Radio 2 gets better and better

:01:47. > :01:52.every year. They are wonderful supporters of Children in Need. I

:01:52. > :01:56.am very proud of my old station. Now, Terry... Don't start with me

:01:56. > :02:00.again. I said you might be likened to the

:02:00. > :02:05.Time Lord, if you are likened to the time Time Lord I guess that

:02:05. > :02:12.makes me your cam uponian. You might be on to something there,

:02:12. > :02:19.you are like the Bonnie Langford to my Colin Baker... That is good.

:02:19. > :02:23.Matt Smith is getting a new co- star? Of course, I did. They keep

:02:23. > :02:31.me abreast of everything. I am a loyal viewer and I have a direct

:02:49. > :02:53.first episode to feature Miss Jenna Louise Coleman.

:02:53. > :02:56.You played a different character and I got turned into a DALEK. You

:02:56. > :02:58.couldn't be the same character at Christmas because that would be

:02:58. > :03:04.impossible. No way.

:03:04. > :03:09.Roll the the trailer. There is a man called the cap

:03:10. > :03:16.doctor. -- Doctor. He lives in a cloud on the sky and all he does

:03:16. > :03:20.every day is stop all the children in the world ever having bad dreams.

:03:20. > :03:24.Am I going to have a nightmare tonight? We find something brand-

:03:25. > :03:31.new in the world, something you have never seen before. What's the

:03:31. > :03:39.next thing you look for? Doctor. The doctor doesn't help people.

:03:39. > :03:43.What's your name? Clara. Listen to me, the snow is feeding

:03:55. > :04:00.there. Thanks, Doc.

:04:00. > :04:03.Thanks again to everyone at Doctor Who for letting us see it here

:04:03. > :04:11.first. For the past week our friends at

:04:11. > :04:17.The One Show have been on the road with the Rickshaw Challenge. Let's

:04:17. > :04:22.see how they got on. # You are insecure

:04:22. > :04:26.# I don't know what for # You are turning heads when you

:04:26. > :04:35.walk through the door # Don't need to cover-up

:04:35. > :04:42.# In the way you are that # Everyone else in the room can see

:04:42. > :04:47.# Everyone else but you # Baby you light up my world like

:04:47. > :04:55.nobody else # The way that you flick your hair

:04:55. > :05:05.gets me over worked # You don't know #

:05:05. > :05:17.

:05:17. > :05:25.# That's what makes you beautiful qurb

:05:25. > :05:27.Donate now. The more you donate, the bigger my

:05:27. > :05:37.The more you donate, the bigger my smile gets.

:05:37. > :05:44.

:05:44. > :05:53.Fan tast Fantastic. What a wonderful effort. Here they are,

:05:53. > :06:00.Alex Jones and Matt Baker and the incredible Team Rick saw.

:06:00. > :06:06.-- Team Rickshaw. Well done guys.

:06:06. > :06:10.How are you? Very good. This was an astonishing achievement.

:06:10. > :06:15.Matt, you did this on your own last year, so how was it seeing these

:06:15. > :06:19.guys take part this year? Let me tell you, rickshaw can be pretty

:06:19. > :06:23.lonely on your own. With this lot, there is never a dull moment. We

:06:23. > :06:29.have had a ball. I am just so proud of them to see them standing here

:06:29. > :06:34.now, still smiling, it seems 411 miles isn't enough for them. Look

:06:34. > :06:38.at them! What's your favourite part of the challenge? There is too many

:06:38. > :06:44.moments to mention. We have had a super time. When there is a few of

:06:44. > :06:50.you out there on the rickshaw, you are talking about stuff whether you

:06:50. > :06:54.are up over 2,000 feet or over the Severn Bridge. It has been a week

:06:54. > :06:59.to remember. I remember last year when you were

:06:59. > :07:05.on your own, you nearly went mad, didn't you? Yeah, I did.

:07:05. > :07:11.Nearly? Don't mention that! Darren, was it 441 miles, right?

:07:11. > :07:15.think it was 411, wasn't it? Let's not be picky about it!

:07:15. > :07:20.So Darren, I mean that's a lot of stamina needed for that. How did

:07:20. > :07:24.you find it? It was hard. I'm not going to lie, but it was really

:07:24. > :07:28.good when you got to the end of it because you had a massive sense of

:07:28. > :07:32.achievement and you had everybody cheering you on so it is good to

:07:32. > :07:38.look over it. I bet. What wonderful memories. And

:07:38. > :07:47.Lauren, how did you find it? found it amusing and absolutely - I

:07:47. > :07:52.was really moved by everyone's efforts. We got on so well together.

:07:52. > :07:58.I just had the best time of my life. It must have been lovely in a gang

:07:58. > :08:01.and making friends with these guys and having the camaraderie? Yes, it

:08:02. > :08:11.really was. And Alex, you had a go on the

:08:11. > :08:19.rickshaw, right? Well, me and Matt rid. I did bits, I am not good on a

:08:19. > :08:22.bike. I was hindering them really. No, they were great. Just seeing

:08:22. > :08:26.them them come together and the support for each other kept them

:08:26. > :08:31.going. They really captured the heart of the nation, they have

:08:31. > :08:33.raised an incredible amount and left Matt and I speechless a lot of

:08:33. > :08:37.the time because of the determination and the grit to get

:08:37. > :08:42.to the finish line. You burst into tears practically

:08:42. > :08:47.every night? I was a wreck. I was a wreck. I needed tissues constantly.

:08:47. > :08:51.Alex, what about next year, on your own? I knew that was going to come.

:08:51. > :09:00.If I say something now, is that set in stone? It is legally binding.

:09:00. > :09:04.I think it will be me and Matt together. Will it?

:09:04. > :09:08.When you see these kinds of calls coming in and you think, you go out

:09:08. > :09:13.there, you put a bit of effort in and you see the reaction it gets

:09:13. > :09:22.and how generous people are, how can you not have a go if it is

:09:22. > :09:26.going to help so many people just like Team Rick saw, they went --

:09:26. > :09:31.Team Rickshaw. Is there anything you would like to say to the people

:09:31. > :09:37.watching tonight? We should do a big group thank you for the

:09:37. > :09:45.donations and the generosity. Let's give them a proper Team Rickshaw

:09:45. > :09:49.thank you. ALL: Thaw.

:09:49. > :09:59.-- thank you. We need to see how much money you guys raised. Let's

:09:59. > :10:02.

:10:02. > :10:06.have a look at your total. Wow!

:10:06. > :10:10.The money is still coming in as well. That's a great starting point.

:10:10. > :10:15.Incredible. God knows what we will make next

:10:15. > :10:20.year when you do it, Alex. I will do something, it is my turn

:10:21. > :10:25.in fairness. You better. As long as you do it with me.

:10:25. > :10:29.If we're spared! Truly astonishing, we can't thank

:10:29. > :10:34.you enough. It is fantastic. Wonderful, wonderful effort and

:10:35. > :10:40.that amount of money. It will make such a difference to so many under

:10:40. > :10:45.privileged children. Now, Fearne, I am hearing there maybe rumblings of

:10:45. > :10:51.discontent backstage... Oh god, what? I thought it might be your

:10:51. > :10:56.stomach. One Direction lads are getting irate with John cavp John

:10:56. > :11:02.Craven because he only brought four copies of his Countryfile calendar.

:11:02. > :11:06.Harry has missed out. This can't happen. I'm going to have to go and

:11:06. > :11:10.grab curling tongs and sort this mess out, but I will be back Terry

:11:10. > :11:19.Wogan. You take the sunshine with you.

:11:19. > :11:20.I will. See you later. Thank you, Fearne.

:11:20. > :11:25.APPLAUSE Thankfully, I thought she would

:11:25. > :11:29.never go! Not true. She has been wonderful, I

:11:29. > :11:39.will be joined by another fabulous co-host, but before that, it is

:11:39. > :11:44.

:11:44. > :11:47.time to find out about Children in Thanks very much, Terry. Welcome

:11:47. > :11:54.back to the Tower of London and some of our fund-raising heroes or

:11:54. > :12:04.as you can see in this case superheroes complete with a Bat

:12:04. > :12:20.

:12:20. > :12:25.Mobile. Let's look at them in How did you come up with this idea?

:12:25. > :12:27.We have done a bath of beans and Snow White and this year it was

:12:27. > :12:32.superheroes. How long did it take you to make

:12:32. > :12:35.that? It wasn't me. It was one of the other guys and it took him four

:12:35. > :12:41.days. There is a few raised eyebrows

:12:41. > :12:48.along the way? Only all the way so it wasn't so bad. Yeah, everywhere

:12:48. > :12:54.we went, there was raised eyebrows and children like, "There They

:12:54. > :13:00.are.". How far did you have to do it? We walked about seven miles.

:13:00. > :13:07.And how much have you raised, Shrek? We should raise over 2,000

:13:07. > :13:14.for tonight. Fantastic costumes. I feel rather

:13:14. > :13:24.under dressed. An impressive effort. What about you, Mark? You can

:13:24. > :13:26.

:13:26. > :13:32.picture me in one of those, but what about one of these? How about

:13:32. > :13:36.our our quartet here? Now, Andrew, I understand you have

:13:36. > :13:39.walked 20 miles dressed like this? Yes, I have.

:13:39. > :13:45.You must have had funny looks? There was a few, but everyone was

:13:45. > :13:51.supportive. Where was this? Bromley and

:13:51. > :13:57.Orpington and my local areas. Well, as you can see the choir are
