:10:48. > :10:49.a whole load of sponsored runs, walks, bakes and silences...

:10:50. > :10:52.Not that we're going to make a big song and dance

:10:53. > :11:04.I am Rachel. I am Charlie. Schools have been raising money for Children

:11:05. > :11:39.in Need. Doing things like this. A huge thank you to all the children

:12:04. > :12:06.who've helped Children in Need. You are brilliant -

:12:07. > :12:10.gold stars all round! Now, all of you Strictly fans out

:12:11. > :12:27.there will fondly remember from last year's competition

:12:28. > :12:29.a certain Scott Mills. Who could ever forget

:12:30. > :12:30.that crab costume? Well, he was so disappointed not

:12:31. > :12:34.to make it to Blackpool last year, Although I'm not sure he realised

:12:35. > :12:38.quite what we had in mind. Hi, Terry Wogan here calling

:12:39. > :12:44.Scott Mills. Your mission,

:12:45. > :12:49.should you choose to accept it, is to abseil down Blackpool Tower

:12:50. > :12:51.for Children In Need. Scott Mills,

:12:52. > :12:54.do you accept this challenge? You couldn't do it

:12:55. > :12:57.for a better cause and I know you're You can't really say no when

:12:58. > :13:07.Sir Terry Wogan offers you up But now it's come to the day

:13:08. > :13:11.of the training, I would probably do anything to get

:13:12. > :13:15.out of this at this point. Seeing as though we are abseiling

:13:16. > :13:17.off Blackpool Tower, again we I just missed out on the Blackpool

:13:18. > :13:23.week of Strictly and a year later, I really didn't think I'd be going

:13:24. > :13:28.like this. The hardest thing he would have done

:13:29. > :13:31.on Strictly is put some tights on. Here, he's not going to

:13:32. > :13:33.know what's hit him. Mills,

:13:34. > :13:35.what on this planet are you doing?! Get over there,

:13:36. > :13:39.think of Blackpool Tower. He's going to get his head

:13:40. > :13:41.into that mud. I've possibly bitten off more than I

:13:42. > :13:47.can chew. Mills, have you fallen asleep

:13:48. > :13:52.in that tunnel? There's nearly light at the end

:13:53. > :13:55.of the tunnel. I have the utmost respect

:13:56. > :13:59.for the Royal Marines, I actually don't know how they do

:14:00. > :14:05.this, they are absolute machines. I'm told Scott is petrified

:14:06. > :14:07.of heights. I'm the kind

:14:08. > :14:09.of guy that would only go Blackpool Tower is going to be 13

:14:10. > :14:14.times higher than this 30-foot wall, We are going to make

:14:15. > :14:18.you happy with that. I'm only on the ground and I'm

:14:19. > :14:21.scared. I guess I just don't look down,

:14:22. > :14:23.right? But he's properly stitched

:14:24. > :14:31.me up this time. I can't look down,

:14:32. > :14:33.I nearly looked down. How long's Children in Need on TV

:14:34. > :14:36.for? That was one of

:14:37. > :14:42.the scariest things I've ever done. Now I've just got to do it

:14:43. > :14:45.at 400 feet. I've done as much training as I can

:14:46. > :14:50.do now, I'm just hoping, please, Now, unfortunately, gale-force winds

:14:51. > :15:13.have been battering Blackpool's Golden Mile all this week, which

:15:14. > :15:16.means we've had to call off Scott's Not surprisingly,

:15:17. > :15:23.Scott took this news quite well... Until he found out that instead

:15:24. > :15:26.of the Blackpool Tower, he would now have to abseil

:15:27. > :15:49.down the Orbit at London's Queen Beautiful! And if I was a different,

:15:50. > :15:51.bitter presenter, I would say Scott would have to cope with a bad wind.

:15:52. > :15:54.But that is not my style. And we'll see how he got

:15:55. > :15:57.on with his new tall challenge It's time now for our first music

:15:58. > :16:01.performance of the night from one She's been a great friend

:16:02. > :16:04.of Children in Need. Showing her support again with her

:16:05. > :16:07.brilliant song Army, here is # I'm a pain, I'm a child

:16:08. > :16:24.I'm afraid # I know that we

:16:25. > :16:37.don't look like much # Matter of fact I always thought

:16:38. > :16:44.you were too cool for me # All the nights

:16:45. > :16:47.we've been drunk on the floor # We both know what

:16:48. > :16:53.they say about us # But they don't stand a chance

:16:54. > :16:56.because # Dark times, you can always find

:16:57. > :17:22.the bright side # I'm amazed by the things

:17:23. > :17:25.that you would sacrifice # How you cringe

:17:26. > :17:30.when you sing out of tune # We both know what

:17:31. > :17:38.they say about us # But they don't stand a chance

:17:39. > :17:40.because # We both know what

:17:41. > :18:49.they say about us Massive thanks to the

:18:50. > :20:12.magnificent Ellie. We'll have more music superstars

:20:13. > :20:23.joining us throughout the night, including Jess Glynne, Years

:20:24. > :20:30.Years, Selena Gomez and Rod Stewart. We also have the Children In Need

:21:10. > :21:13.be more precise, take a look on Tower Bridge, because we are just

:21:49. > :21:52.who thank you! More from them later, but you may have noticed that

:21:53. > :21:56.there does seem to be a rather large bear missing from this party. Pudsey

:21:57. > :22:05.is always on a mission, and he does like to make an entrance. Pudsey, in

:22:06. > :22:10.2013, you've completed your Beefeater training at the Tower of

:26:53. > :26:56.some with life limiting illnesses. Your donations pay for Paula,

:26:57. > :26:58.Y BONT's all-round mother hen Sometimes I see parents

:26:59. > :27:04.for the first time. They come here

:27:05. > :27:06.and they are desperate. They just want the best

:27:07. > :27:08.for their child. They want their child to be able

:27:09. > :27:13.to be happy and feel safe and Things were really, really difficult

:27:14. > :27:26.when Tristen was first born. Without the support of Y BONT, we

:30:19. > :30:22.means to all our families and the children, and it does make a

:30:23. > :30:24.difference in their lives, I love it.

:30:25. > :30:26.Now, Paula, you're a remarkable lady who's helped hundreds

:30:27. > :30:32.And a few of them would really love to say thank you in person.

:30:33. > :31:14.Just a fraction of the people you've helped over the years.

:31:15. > :31:19.It is wonderful, to think we have touched so many lives, it has all

:31:20. > :31:23.been possible through the kind donations of all the people and

:17:42. > :17:49.Thank you so much indeed. APPLAUSE

:17:50. > :17:53.Now, Pudsey, come here, because he has spent the day doing some special

:17:57. > :18:33.Tower Bridge. And actually, I should say, he is

:18:34. > :18:38.just one of a handful of people in the world who are trained to raise

:18:39. > :18:45.Tower Bridge. You don't want to miss that moment. Are you looking forward

:18:46. > :18:50.to the bridge opening later? Yes. Thank you to everyone here, everyone

:38:01. > :38:03.children in the UK who need it the most.

:38:04. > :38:05.Let's take a look at how BBC Children in Need is supporting

:38:06. > :38:24.Welcome back to our Pudsey party, overlooking London. Right at the top

:38:25. > :38:33.of Tower Bridge. Pepsi has a bridge to raise in a moment. He will heads

:38:34. > :38:39.of -- he will head off. Tonight, we are showing all the fabulous people

:38:40. > :38:44.who have been fundraising. If you're thinking about picking up the phone

:38:45. > :38:47.to call or text let's show you how the money you how the many Ukip

:38:58. > :39:04.has helped her to be so much more confident, dancing. She is so

:39:05. > :39:13.energetic. She makes the dances so fun. When we found something for

:39:14. > :39:18.her, that was it. No looking back. Takes a lot to be hit in the face

:39:19. > :39:24.and carry on hitting back. Mental determination is a key thing to

:39:25. > :39:31.have. I came to Wembley youth centre to box. I come here to develop

:39:32. > :39:32.myself. You become more mature. Petty fights and scraps are not

:39:33. > :39:47.worth it. This 17-year-old is here. How long

:39:48. > :39:53.have you been going to the centre in Wembley? Ages. Around six or seven

:39:54. > :40:00.years. It is designed to steer young people away from crime. Do you worry

:40:01. > :40:08.what you would have been doing? If I had gone down that negative route, I

:40:09. > :40:14.could have gone into gangs. It has really helped me stay on this

:40:15. > :40:18.positive route. Thank you for talking to us this evening. That is

:40:19. > :40:24.one example of how your donation has helped. I will rush over here to see

:40:25. > :40:32.another. You may from the film and also Emily. How does dancing make

:40:33. > :40:38.you feel? So happy. Being surrounded by friends and helpers makes me feel

:40:39. > :40:42.like I can dance the way I want. You are the founder of this project.

:40:43. > :40:48.Without projects like yours, some of these children would never get a

:40:49. > :40:53.chance to dance? Absolutely. They would not have the opportunity to

:40:54. > :40:59.dance and perform on a weekly basis. I'll go in to ask a very quick

:41:00. > :41:08.question to Emily. -- Iowa going to ask. What to you like about it? It

:41:09. > :41:14.makes her happy. Thank you for being here. A certain someone is nowhere

:41:15. > :41:19.in sight. Earlier, Pudsey was training. Let's count down to the

:41:20. > :41:31.bridge. Five, four, three, two, one... Go, Pudsey! We are going to

:41:32. > :41:37.watch it from here. It is a stunning London landmark, opened way back in

:41:38. > :41:41.1894. More than a century later it is being opened and raised four

:41:42. > :41:49.Children in Need. That vessel coming through is the Lady Daphne. What you

:41:50. > :41:54.think of it? Wow! While you watch, I'm going to say, thank you so much

:41:55. > :41:58.for helping us to raise the roof and raise the bridge. Thank you to Tower

:41:59. > :42:06.Bridge for having as an thank you to all of you for coming. A big thank

:42:07. > :42:08.you to everyone who has donated. Enjoy the rest of your evening.

:42:09. > :42:16.Goodbye. It's great to see your money

:42:17. > :42:22.at work and the difference it makes to so many

:42:23. > :42:26.children's lives here in the UK. There really are projects

:42:27. > :42:30.in all corners of this fine land including two in Tamworth, 11

:42:31. > :42:34.in Sunderland and 40 in Manchester. Is this by any chance one of

:42:35. > :43:02.Sir Terry's old links? He has of boys more gravelly than a

:43:03. > :43:05.driveway and smells lovely as well. It is the 1 and only, Mr Rod

:43:06. > :43:12.Stewart! # I was just a little boy

:43:13. > :43:18.without a care # I remember looking up

:43:19. > :43:25.and seeing you there # I never wandered too far

:43:40. > :43:46.with a cast-iron wheel # Broken lives, darkened streets

:43:47. > :43:53.and twisted steel # But around our house

:43:54. > :44:00.the sky seemed so blue # And on a wing and a prayer

:44:01. > :44:07.we just muddled through # And we always kept the laughter

:44:08. > :44:14.and the smile upon our face # In that good old-fashioned British

:44:15. > :44:21.way with pride and faultless grace # I shall never forget

:44:22. > :44:24.those childhood days # Tell me what it was

:44:25. > :44:45.that made our family strong # As our defiant little island

:44:46. > :44:52.weathered the storm # There never seemed enough

:45:00. > :45:06.Say grace, don't complain # How can I ever thank you

:45:07. > :45:13.for the lessons that I've learnt? # And the precious warmth and

:45:14. > :45:20.comfort that I felt at every turn # And for those who

:45:21. > :45:27.sacrificed their lives # I hear your stories

:46:19. > :46:22.those childhood days We shall never surrender.

:46:23. > :47:00.APPLAUSE Right about now, if you weren't

:47:01. > :47:08.watching Children In Need, of course,

:47:09. > :47:10.I bet a lot of you little ones would

:47:11. > :47:12.be settling down to a bedtime story. Here's Ellie Goulding to introduce

:47:13. > :47:15.you to a family who can do that I want you to meet a really

:47:16. > :47:21.brave little girl called Tayen. Tayen's condition means she has

:47:22. > :47:24.an uncertain future. Right now,

:47:25. > :47:28.it has caused her to go blind. She has many challenges but,

:47:29. > :47:30.with a loving family around her, Thanks to you, she can still do

:47:31. > :47:36.something that seemed impossible Mummy,

:47:37. > :47:47.I want to go on a roller-coaster. Tayen was 22-months-old

:47:48. > :48:03.when she had her seizure. I wanted so very much to pick her up

:48:04. > :48:16.and cuddle her. Doctors soon discovered what

:48:17. > :48:25.had caused the seizure. Tumours were growing

:48:26. > :48:26.in Tayen's optic nerves She needed chemotherapy to save

:48:27. > :48:34.what little vision she had left. We were only six weeks

:48:35. > :48:37.into chemotherapy when she lost it Nearly two years on

:48:38. > :48:45.and thankfully the tumours are not But Tayen will never

:48:46. > :48:54.be able to see again. Before her illness,

:48:55. > :48:57.Tayen loved books. We really felt that love for books,

:48:58. > :49:03.for her, had gone with her sight. Thanks to the Living Paintings

:49:04. > :49:10.library, a charity supported by Children in Need, Tayen still loves

:49:11. > :49:15.books as much as she ever did. There's an owl up there,

:49:16. > :49:18.and a squirrel. All the pages are also Brailled,

:49:19. > :49:23.which is great because Tayen can She knows that means something and

:49:24. > :49:30.to feel the pictures, it brings the She will seek Lucas out if she

:49:31. > :49:40.wants to do reading and they will A mouse took a stroll through

:49:41. > :49:50.the deep, dark wood. Living Paintings has adapted over

:49:51. > :49:52.200 kids classics, lending them to blind and partially

:49:53. > :49:57.sighted children across Britain. We have no prognosis for Tayen, so

:49:58. > :50:14.we treat every day as it's our last. To make those memories with the boys

:50:15. > :50:28.and us as a family, it's amazing. To encourage her love of reading

:50:29. > :50:36.books again, it's so precious. You can make a difference

:50:37. > :50:39.to children like Tayen. ?34 gives a blind or partially

:50:40. > :50:58.sighted child a year's worth of Please help us to continue

:50:59. > :51:05.supporting them Standard geographic charges from

:51:06. > :51:13.landlines and mobiles will apply. And of course, you can donate

:51:14. > :51:18.online at bbc.co.uk/Pudsey. It's time for another trip

:51:19. > :51:24.over to Albert Square. And it seems Walford has received

:51:25. > :51:26.a special visitor # Now on the sidewalk

:51:27. > :51:36.one Sunday morning # And someone's sneaking

:52:08. > :52:09.remarkably, managed to make his way to the Queen Vic without

:52:10. > :52:31.constant harassment from A-listers. It's a lively and here. This is like

:52:32. > :52:38.any night in the Queen Vic. The singer is good, isn't he? Being in

:52:39. > :52:42.EastEnders, I am not allowed to give away secrets from storylines but I

:52:43. > :52:47.can't let you leave the pub to my without giving me a secret from the

:52:48. > :52:54.new Star Wars film. Any thing, come on! Star Wars, episode seven, I am

:52:55. > :52:59.in the film, and I am a fan. There was one day on set when the

:53:00. > :53:04.clapperboard, which they bring out with information about the scene, I

:53:05. > :53:08.remember seeing it said Star Wars. At that point, it hit me that we

:53:09. > :53:11.were doing Star Wars all over again, which is where it started when I was

:53:12. > :53:15.11. Don't say any more. Join us at 10 o'clock on BBC Two as

:53:16. > :53:19.our knees-up at the Vic continues. Back to you for now, Fearne

:53:20. > :53:27.and Dermot. Not an easy job propping up that

:53:28. > :53:30.bar, but someone's got to do it. Now, earlier, we saw Scott Mills

:53:31. > :53:34.train for his big abseil challenge. It's just as well Helen Skelton

:53:35. > :53:44.was there to hold his hand... in London's Queen Elizabeth

:53:45. > :54:01.Olympic Park. You genuinely just said, what if I

:54:02. > :54:06.faint. How difficult has it been not knowing where or if this would

:54:07. > :54:10.happen? The location changed on Monday and I did not know where it

:54:11. > :54:14.was until later in the week so I have not been able to prepare

:54:15. > :54:18.mentally for anything. I did not know where it would be and I

:54:19. > :54:22.actually can't even look over there at the moment. Get over there and

:54:23. > :54:32.get stuck in. We are all behind you. Good luck. , oh, no, I don't

:54:33. > :54:36.like it. Walk back towards my arm. Your heels will go towards the end

:54:37. > :54:44.of the platform. You can do this, Scott. My legs are shaking. It is

:54:45. > :54:56.called Elvis legs. Keep shuffling those feet back. Throw your legs

:54:57. > :55:04.out, Scott. I can't do it. You can. Good effort. Perfect. Straighten

:55:05. > :55:15.your legs again. Push them straight. Lock my knees? Step down, a big

:55:16. > :55:20.step. Well done. Perfect, Scott, well done. You are there. Great

:55:21. > :55:33.effort. Look at the structure directly in

:55:34. > :55:46.front of you. Focus on that. Yes. OK? Yes. I can't look. It is so

:55:47. > :55:56.windy! Please! Please give money to Children in Need. Please. Stop

:55:57. > :56:08.laughing, Brian! Oh, God! Help me! Help me! This is worse than Strictly

:56:09. > :56:16.Come Dancing. So much worse. Oh, no! The wind. I hate the wind. Please

:56:17. > :56:26.stop. I am being really blown about now, Brian. I don't like it. I

:56:27. > :56:30.cannot look. The wind is awful. Scott, you have done the hard bit,

:56:31. > :56:38.going over the edge. All you have to do now is enjoy the view. Sure!

:56:39. > :56:44.Enjoy it. You could almost jump from this height. Don't be ridiculous,

:56:45. > :56:50.Brian. Come on, Scott, you are a hero. Who would have thought it

:56:51. > :56:57.would be windy in November at a tower? I don't like it. I feel like

:56:58. > :57:04.the rope is slipping away with me, Brian. Just hold it a little bit

:57:05. > :57:13.tighter, it is fine. Come on. Not long to go now.

:57:14. > :57:40.Oh, my word! What an achievement. Bless him. You could feel the fear.

:57:41. > :57:52.Scott Mills, bring it in! I can't walk. I am so proud. How was it?

:57:53. > :57:59.Awful. The worst. But I have done it and I feel, I have never felt so

:58:00. > :58:03.relieved in my life. There was a moment when I thought you weren't

:58:04. > :58:10.going to go over the age. Do we have to watch it? Your legs were going

:58:11. > :58:16.for it. At one point you said, I can't do it. How was that? It is

:58:17. > :58:22.awful watching it back. You can see my legs were really shaking. That is

:58:23. > :58:27.the worst bit, because you have to trust the rope. You are leaning

:58:28. > :58:31.against nothing. I can't believe I have been that high. Look at the

:58:32. > :58:37.picture. Please donate what you can, pick up the phone. I can't believe I

:58:38. > :58:42.have just done that. I am kind of speechless. We are very proud of

:58:43. > :58:46.you, and epic achievement. You have done a brilliant thing. Thank you to

:58:47. > :58:47.the world Marines, and thank you to our new hero, Scott Mills. Well

:58:48. > :58:57.done. And if you want to show your

:58:58. > :59:10.appreciation, then please go online Yes, this is a desperately sad film,

:59:11. > :59:20.but please be brave Next tonight, David Tennant wants to

:59:21. > :59:27.introduce you to the story of a family who have had to cope with

:59:28. > :59:31.the heartbreaking loss of a child, and how a hospice helped them

:59:32. > :59:33.when they had no hope. Sometimes, though,

:59:34. > :59:37.that is just not possible. In this film, you're going to meet

:59:38. > :59:40.two amazing parents, Anne and Mark, With the support of your donations,

:59:41. > :59:45.their life was made just a little bit easier

:59:46. > :59:56.at the most terrible times. Robbie was nearly four when we got

:59:57. > :59:59.the diagnosis of infantile Batten's It's a neurodegenerative condition,

:00:00. > :00:06.so every seizure kills a bit And it was terminal, and he would

:00:07. > :00:19.only survive to mid-childhood. Both Mark and I carried a faulty

:00:20. > :00:31.gene, and at the time, I was already pregnant, with seven weeks to go

:00:32. > :00:37.until I had Rosie. Anne and Mark

:00:38. > :00:40.were told that Rosie could have So after three months,

:00:41. > :00:46.she was tested. Rosie had infantile

:00:47. > :00:51.Batten's disease as well. Home from the hospital, curtains

:00:52. > :00:59.shut, phone off the hook... That was the end of the world,

:01:00. > :01:05.really. Now we had these two

:01:06. > :01:07.beautiful children that we This is Robin House,

:01:08. > :01:19.a children's Hospice in Balloch Robin House offers respite care

:01:20. > :01:26.for children and young adults with Because of your donations,

:01:27. > :01:32.Children in Need is able to pay for When a family comes into Robin

:01:33. > :01:39.House, often it's really difficult for that family to walk through the

:01:40. > :01:42.front door, thinking that they're giving up, they're bringing their

:01:43. > :01:46.children to somewhere where their child is going to die. In actual

:01:47. > :01:49.fact, when they come to visit the hospice, they see that

:01:50. > :01:53.our children come here to live. Anne and Mark first brought Robbie

:01:54. > :01:58.here ten years ago, Every visit, he was enjoying

:01:59. > :02:05.whatever it was we were doing with him at the time, what the staff was

:02:06. > :02:09.doing with him, whether it was the Yes, to come up here,

:02:10. > :02:14.to have fun with them. Eventually, you know,

:02:15. > :02:23.it became obvious that he was nearing end of life,

:02:24. > :02:31.so we wanted Robbie to be here. Although there were tears,

:02:32. > :02:33.there was laughter in the tears Because we were where

:02:34. > :02:38.we wanted to be. They said, "Do you want to wash him

:02:39. > :02:47.for the last time?" So I did, and put on his favourite

:02:48. > :02:53.pyjamas, and cosied him all in. He just looked as

:02:54. > :02:58.if he was sleeping. I don't think we got

:02:59. > :03:03.the chance to properly grieve for him, knowing that we still had

:03:04. > :03:06.Rosie. We knew what was... Rosie spent another six years on

:03:07. > :03:13.and off at Robin House. She was eight

:03:14. > :03:19.when her time finally came. She was kind of lying here and I

:03:20. > :03:23.said, "I think we'll take her out And when I did,

:03:24. > :03:27.I don't even think it was ten happy to be in my arms again,

:03:28. > :03:33.and she went, she passed very She came into the world with me and

:03:34. > :03:45.she went out of the world...with And I thought, "Well,

:03:46. > :03:59.she's with her brother now The Hospice is still here for Anne

:04:00. > :04:12.and Mark, and someone else, too. They've been able to have two more

:04:13. > :04:15.children, Roxy and Ruthie, knowing that they didn't have

:04:16. > :04:21.the faulty genes. We'll never forget everything

:04:22. > :04:25.Robin House did for us as a family. For Robbie and Rosie. Robin House

:04:26. > :04:27.gave them... You know, people will say, "Robbie -

:04:28. > :04:36.is that your name?" That's the date he was born

:04:37. > :04:41.and the that's the day he died," And then I say,

:04:42. > :04:47."This is my daughter, Rosie, and that was the day that she was born,

:04:48. > :04:50.and that was the day she died." And then they'll say, "Sorry -

:04:51. > :04:53.I wish I never asked." And at that point, I'll say "No,

:04:54. > :04:56.it's fine," because they're my kids Your help really does make

:04:57. > :05:02.a difference. We send our fondest wishes to that

:05:03. > :05:25.wonderful family and every other family across the land who have

:05:26. > :05:34.suffered such a terrible loss. I have just stood in tonight and

:05:35. > :05:37.have not seen any of these films before tonight. I am seeing them as

:05:38. > :05:39.you see them at home. We are so proud to be able

:05:40. > :05:41.to support Robin House. It is, as you've seen,

:08:11. > :08:15.day long. Each of them are brilliant in their own way. Whether we are

:08:16. > :08:21.singing with George, smiling with Lucy or going for it with the two

:08:22. > :08:26.lads. Tell us about the bond you guys have got. We have bonded so

:08:27. > :08:31.quickly in such a short space of time. We have all made friends for

:08:32. > :08:36.life. George Gee, you singing legend. We have loved watching you

:08:37. > :08:40.sing. You have kept us so entertained with your singing. It is

:08:41. > :08:48.a very long way to cycle. What has been the highlight? Being on a

:08:49. > :08:53.rickshaw is a bit scary at first. Then I really enjoyed it. I had my

:08:54. > :08:59.whole family out and everything. It was fantastic. Lucy, I would love it

:09:00. > :09:03.if you looked down a certain camera for me. What would you like to say

:09:22. > :09:29.weather. People coming out of the houses and just cheering us on.

:09:30. > :09:38.Thank you very much for all your support. Thank you so much.

:09:39. > :09:47.CHEERING AND APPLAUSE You are amazing! George, come back

:09:48. > :09:53.here. This has been a tough and physical challenge. Have you enjoyed

:09:54. > :09:58.bits of it? It has been the time of my life. We have worked with amazing

:09:59. > :10:08.and incredible people. I feel like tomorrow I will miss it so much. We

:10:09. > :10:12.have to do something incredibly important. We have to see how much

:10:13. > :10:16.money you have raised. Let's get that total right now. It is coming

:10:17. > :10:43.up. You deserve everything up any of

:10:44. > :10:46.that. You do. Thank you so much. What you have done is absolutely

:12:14. > :12:19.So let's find out how much the good people at Greggs have raised...

:12:20. > :12:30.They have helped me out of a hole or two in my time! Nice excavation --

:12:31. > :12:33.nice! Now, Dermot - you're going

:12:34. > :12:38.to enjoy this next item. It's classic Children

:12:39. > :12:39.in Need. Will it be newsreaders

:12:40. > :12:43.being all racy? Do I have to put on a dress

:12:44. > :12:46.and sing? No, better than all of that -

:12:47. > :12:51.Harry Hill is back with us. And tonight, he's going to condense

:12:52. > :12:54.40 years of TV gold into just four

:12:55. > :12:56.minutes - as only he can. So please,

:12:57. > :13:04.everyone, give it up for Harry Hill! Good evening and welcome to

:13:05. > :13:09.the history of TV in four minutes. In at number three, it's

:13:10. > :14:43.Denis Waterman. # If you want to,

:14:44. > :14:47.I'll change the situation... # I've been stuck in there

:14:48. > :15:32.for 40 years! MUSIC: Theme to The Great British

:15:33. > :16:33.Bake Off That's pretty much

:16:34. > :17:00.all you need to know about TV. Thank you to the comedy

:17:01. > :17:07.genius that is Harry Hill. Now, I'm proud to introduce

:17:08. > :17:13.Dame Helen Mirren. Over the years on Children in Need,

:17:14. > :17:16.we have introduced you to many wonderful,

:17:17. > :17:20.inspiring and brave families. They have been through things

:17:21. > :17:23.the rest of us simply can't begin Their grace and dignity

:17:24. > :17:28.in the face of unspeakable pain is Now, we don't show you

:17:29. > :17:35.these films to upset you. We show them because time after

:17:36. > :17:39.time, you continue to help us to This is a very sad film,

:17:40. > :17:49.but a really important one. I'd like you to introduce

:17:50. > :17:58.you to 15-year-old Abbie. When Abbie was just 11, her father,

:17:59. > :18:00.Brian, When you hear news like that...

:18:01. > :18:08.It didn't feel real. It felt very surreal, because you

:18:09. > :18:15.never expect it to happen to you. Brian fought hard

:18:16. > :18:18.against the illness and he was still fighting eight months later,

:18:19. > :18:21.when Abbie was chosen to run We really hoped that Brian would be

:18:22. > :18:30.able to go and see that, but I can remember him

:18:31. > :18:37.saying to me just before, It was a lovely moment

:18:38. > :18:46.and it just made him so happy. It was only a couple of weeks

:18:47. > :18:51.after that that he died, yeah. I think

:18:52. > :18:56.about him pretty much every day. When my dad passed away,

:18:57. > :19:05.me and my mum got a lot closer, She is extremely strong,

:19:06. > :19:13.really brave, inspiring... Me and Abbie just said to each other

:19:14. > :19:22.one day, you know, Just two years after losing her

:19:23. > :19:37.father, unbearably, Abbie's mum When you told me, I felt really

:19:38. > :19:49.numb and I was really scared. I can just remember you not

:19:50. > :19:52.being able to breathe. Yes. And I said, "Abbie,

:19:53. > :19:55.you need to breathe." Yeah. It was just such

:19:56. > :20:06.an awful thing to have to do. I can remember my mum saying that

:20:07. > :20:11.it wasn't curable I felt like all my strength that I

:20:12. > :20:19.put to dealing with my dad and his death, I didn't feel that I

:20:20. > :20:23.was strong enough to have to go When her father was coming to

:20:24. > :20:31.the end of his life, Abbie had bereavement counselling here,

:20:32. > :20:37.at Saint Gemma's Hospice in Leeds. You could make these for Christmas

:20:38. > :20:44.presents... Abbie doesn't like to just sit

:20:45. > :20:48.and talk, so we always do different activities, and so we've done lots

:20:49. > :20:54.of creative things and some sewing and cooking and different things

:20:55. > :21:00.that Abbie enjoys to do. So if I come in

:21:01. > :21:03.and I'm a bit upset and I'm not really into talking, Nick can kind

:21:04. > :21:07.of tell that, and try to help me to talk a bit more and get my feelings

:21:08. > :21:09.out. You can tell when she's been

:21:10. > :21:11.to a session. She'll come back and it's like

:21:12. > :21:14.the weight has been lifted off her Although Abbie has other family,

:21:15. > :21:24.including a brother who lives away now, the future

:21:25. > :21:28.can sometimes seem daunting. I see Nick, and talking to Nick,

:21:29. > :21:37.I kind of get more strength. And I know that

:21:38. > :21:40.when my mum does pass away, Thanks to Children in Need,

:21:41. > :21:47.Nick is there for Abbie Well, her mum has been

:21:48. > :21:57.thinking about that. Before Brian died, we were friends

:21:58. > :22:02.with Steve and Tracey, and Bethany, and when I found out that I was

:22:03. > :22:06.terminally ill, you know, that they were happy to

:22:07. > :22:12.take on Abbie. What we've talked about is that we

:22:13. > :22:15.will do the right thing for Abbie and we will steer her

:22:16. > :22:23.in the way that makes her happy. I'm really grateful that there are

:22:24. > :22:27.people there that can support you in the future.

:22:28. > :22:30.Yes. I suppose if I had anything to say

:22:31. > :22:34.to you, it would be - work hard. And do me proud.

:22:35. > :23:09.Yes. We are humbled by their bravery. We

:23:10. > :23:13.know that you are both watching tonight and we send all our love.

:23:14. > :23:19.Now, singing the Children in Need single, Jess Glynne. She has asked
