:37:34. > :37:49.But it's not just sports that brought these two girls together.
:37:50. > :37:53.Four years ago, Phoebe was fighting for her life in the transplant unit
:37:54. > :38:03.Phoebe had become encephaleptic, which meant the toxins that were
:38:04. > :38:06.building up in her liver were starting to affect her brain.
:38:07. > :38:12.She said Phoebe wouldn't get through a week without a transplant.
:38:13. > :38:15.Thankfully, Phoebe did get a new liver.
:38:16. > :38:18.The Leeds Children's Transplant Team in the house!
:38:19. > :38:21.She now competes for Leeds Children's Hospital
:38:22. > :38:29.I love running and I like getting some exercise.
:38:30. > :38:34.It was at the Games three years ago that she first met Erin.
:38:35. > :38:39.At five weeks of age, Erin suddenly turned yellow, virtually overnight.
:38:40. > :38:46.As the days were going on, we knew we were running out of options.
:38:47. > :38:49.One day, one of her favourite nurses came in.
:38:50. > :38:53.She said, "There's been a phone call.
:38:54. > :39:01.Erin, too, was saved by a transplant.
:39:02. > :39:04.But like Phoebe, her life now has many challenges.
:39:05. > :39:07.And the Transplant Games help tackle a few of them.
:39:08. > :39:10.She hadn't had a lot of contact with other children.
:39:11. > :39:14.We only ever met other families in hospital, so to see other
:39:15. > :39:21.children well and healthy and be able to do things is amazing.

:39:26. > :39:29.He is the children and teens coordinator at the games.
:39:30. > :39:35.Some of the experiences that children with transplants have had,
:39:36. > :39:39.they are able to talk about that and share it with people who understand,

:52:02. > :52:24.Logan was born very early at 28 weeks.
:52:25. > :52:26.They found out that he had a bleed on the brain.
:52:27. > :52:29.We later found out that it would affect his movement,
:52:30. > :52:33.I think he was two when we finally got the diagnosis and they
:52:34. > :52:36.I only asked the question once, "Will he walk?"
:52:37. > :52:42.Maybe, one day, when he's older, he might just throw his sticks away
:52:43. > :52:48.That was the day that I came home on the bus and I cried.
:52:49. > :52:51.It was horrible seeing him struggle because I didn't know how
:52:52. > :52:58.I just knew that there has got to be something out there for Logan
:52:59. > :53:11.This is School for Parents in Nottingham.
:53:12. > :53:13.It is a place for children who have motor disorders or develop
:53:14. > :53:23.We walked through the doors and, for me,
:53:24. > :53:31.Your donations help pay for Erica, who specialises in a technique
:53:32. > :53:37.We started to teach him how to stand initially
:53:38. > :53:46.We had to work through those tears and we had to help mum to be
:53:47. > :53:56.Almost immediately, Erica would have him walking with his Kaye Walker.
:53:57. > :53:59.Fast forward a couple of weeks and she's got him stood up with
:54:00. > :54:04.The progress was coming thick and fast.
:54:05. > :54:07.We were able to show him ways of doing things for himself, which
:54:08. > :54:14.increased his independence which, in turn, increased his confidence.
:54:15. > :54:27.At the end of the day, we all knew he had it in him to be able to walk.
:54:28. > :54:38.The sessions that we provide, they only happen once a week
:54:39. > :54:42.but the real learning is actually in the home environment.
:54:43. > :54:45.What we need to do is to teach parents to become the teachers
:54:46. > :55:00.I can only describe Erica as our guardian angel.
