0:00:03 > 0:00:07Ladies and gentlemen, this is the Children in Need Music Special.
0:00:08 > 0:00:16Please welcome your hosts, Marvin and Rochelle Humes.
0:00:17 > 0:00:24Hello. And welcome to the Children in Need special here on BBC Two.
0:00:25 > 0:00:28Before we do anything let me say what an absolute honour it is to be
0:00:29 > 0:00:36here tonight. Do you know we're the first ever married couple to present
0:00:37 > 0:00:40Children in Need. Are we? Remember all the vowels and the dancing at
0:00:41 > 0:00:45the wedding? I do remember. We are on display tonight, so best
0:00:46 > 0:00:48behaviour, no funny business, you going to behave yourself? Don't know
0:00:49 > 0:00:51what you're talking about. Make sure you behave, I know what you like,
0:00:52 > 0:00:58you know what'll happen if you don't? I could show a very old
0:00:59 > 0:01:03picture of you "Acting" in Holby city.
0:01:04 > 0:01:11Is that how we are doing it tonight? I could do that, might not, but I
0:01:12 > 0:01:15could. Three small words. S Club Juniors.
0:01:16 > 0:01:24There we are. I shouldn't have started it. Even Stevens. Want to
0:01:25 > 0:01:28tell them what's coming up? We should move swiftly. Here's what's
0:01:29 > 0:01:37in store tonight on this Children in Need Music Special. Coming up,
0:01:38 > 0:01:41Michael Buble sings for Pudsey. Children in Need Rocks packs a punch
0:01:42 > 0:01:43with an all-star line-up. A special duet from Shane Richie and Tony
0:01:44 > 0:01:56Hadley. Yes, if you love great music you're
0:01:57 > 0:02:02in the right place. Kind of a Jools Holland five. If you split into a
0:02:03 > 0:02:08man and a woman and then got married to himself. Ended up a bit weird
0:02:09 > 0:02:13didn't it? I was trying to follow you. It's going well. To kick off we
0:02:14 > 0:02:19have one of the smoothest and most handsome guys in the business. Hello
0:02:20 > 0:02:24everyone. No, no not you. This man to go to the BBC earlier this month
0:02:25 > 0:02:27and recorded a performance especially for us. Michael, we thank
0:02:28 > 0:02:31you so much. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time for you
0:02:32 > 0:02:32and your family. This is the one and only, make some noise, Michael

0:02:42 > 0:02:46year's Children in Need 2016. If you'd like to donate, please call...
0:02:47 > 0:03:11Wood go online/ Pudsey. # But long as there are stars
0:03:12 > 0:03:25above you # God only knows what I'd be
0:03:26 > 0:03:52without you # Though life would still go on
0:03:53 > 0:04:06believe me # God only knows
0:04:07 > 0:05:12what I'd be without you # God only knows what I'd be
0:05:13 > 0:05:21without you # Then life would
0:05:22 > 0:05:35still go on believe me # God only knows
0:05:36 > 0:06:16what I'd be without you # God only knows what
0:06:17 > 0:06:59I'd be without you #. Thanks again and very best wishes to
0:07:00 > 0:07:02Michael and his family, one incredible performance. Plenty more
0:07:03 > 0:07:09where that has come from so stick around for more great music coming
0:07:10 > 0:07:11up. Rochelle. Next, a film introduce by Paralympics, Rachel Latham.
0:07:12 > 0:07:14In the summer, Children in Need invited me to go and see some
0:07:15 > 0:07:17of the work that you've been funding, and meet a very
0:07:18 > 0:07:24Learning to swim is something every child should do.
0:07:25 > 0:07:28And five-year-old Byron is no exception.
0:07:29 > 0:07:34He has swimming lessons once a week and he's doing so well.
0:07:35 > 0:07:38But for Byron, learning to swim is tough.
0:07:39 > 0:07:40He has cerebral palsy, which makes it hard for him
0:07:41 > 0:07:46And that's where Sally-Anne comes in.
0:07:47 > 0:07:48She's a specially trained swimming instructor funded
0:07:49 > 0:08:02What does she teach you?
0:08:03 > 0:08:11Have you seen an improvement in Byron since he started swimming?
0:08:12 > 0:08:17He couldn't use his limbs independently of each other.
0:08:18 > 0:08:30The next stage for Byron is independent swimming.
0:08:31 > 0:08:34and I do believe he will be able to achieve that.
0:08:35 > 0:08:50At home, Byron doesn't have the freedom he has in the pool
0:08:51 > 0:08:57and he misses out on doing simple things with his younger brothers.
0:08:58 > 0:09:02But when he is in the pool, Byron not only gets fantastic
0:09:03 > 0:09:08exercise, he also gets special time playing with his whole family.
0:09:09 > 0:09:11It's just really nice because Byron is in a lot of discomfort and gets
0:09:12 > 0:09:14in a lot of pain so to see him not necessarily pain-free
0:09:15 > 0:09:16but being allowed to play with his brothers,
0:09:17 > 0:09:25I think it's amazing that something so small like being in a swimming
0:09:26 > 0:09:28pool with your family can make people so happy.
0:09:29 > 0:09:31And it's because of your donations that Byron and other children
0:09:32 > 0:09:36So please help us give this opportunity to more children
0:09:37 > 0:09:55What a lovely little boy you are. We love how much you love swimming,
0:09:56 > 0:10:01clearly it makes all the difference. As he says, it makes him feel free,
0:10:02 > 0:10:05which I love. It costs ?50 for the family to use that hydrotherapy pool
0:10:06 > 0:10:09for an hour, gives them time to play together as a family. As you can
0:10:10 > 0:10:12see, it makes them all so happy. If tonight you can help us and donate,
0:10:13 > 0:10:32we'd be truly, truly grateful. We promised you music. Next up, boy

0:26:42 > 0:26:44loved it. Absolutely. I think that Sir Terry would have loved it too. I
0:26:45 > 0:26:50think you are right. Throughout the night people were making their
0:26:51 > 0:26:54donations to Children In Need. Let's look right now how much you raised
0:26:55 > 0:27:01through the concert itself. There we go. Wow!
0:27:02 > 0:27:09?878,746. That's incredible. Thank you so much. Every penny of it will
0:27:10 > 0:27:14go to help disadvantaged children and young people across the UK.
0:27:15 > 0:27:18Brill yanlt work. No surprise to any of you that Rochelle and I are big
0:27:19 > 0:27:21music fans. Sometimes music is much more than just music, here's
0:27:22 > 0:27:28Michelle Keegan to explain. I'd like you to meet a fantastic
0:27:29 > 0:27:31little girl called Elodie and her big brother Finn
0:27:32 > 0:27:33and they want to tell you how your donations have helped
0:27:34 > 0:27:36put a smile on their faces. But she can still do lots and lots
0:27:37 > 0:27:44and lots and lots of stuff. This is you and me
0:27:45 > 0:27:49riding a motorcycle. You have a blue one
0:27:50 > 0:27:52and I have a red one. You're the best sister
0:27:53 > 0:28:03I could ever have. When Elodie was born,
0:28:04 > 0:28:07her eyes were small and unfinished. And when she was a few months old,
0:28:08 > 0:28:12one of her retinas detached followed We were told that there
0:28:13 > 0:28:19is going to be a gradual deterioration of her
0:28:20 > 0:28:21sight and she will lose Yeah, and I could do more fun stuff
0:28:22 > 0:28:33and see more amazing For Elodie, being blind is not just
0:28:34 > 0:28:42about a loss of vision. It's about a loss of all
0:28:43 > 0:28:46the learning opportunities, so it's so important that we find
0:28:47 > 0:28:49special ways of helping Elodie And that's why music
0:28:50 > 0:28:57entered Elodie's life. She now visit Open Arts In Tune
0:28:58 > 0:29:00workshops in Belfast, a project What we're trying to do is to give
0:29:01 > 0:29:07them the confidence to be It's not just about
0:29:08 > 0:29:11playing instruments. There's a lot going
0:29:12 > 0:29:13on under the surface. They are feeling new things,
0:29:14 > 0:29:16they're hearing new things, When you push those little
0:29:17 > 0:29:21buttons... It's about essential skills
0:29:22 > 0:29:25like listening and turn-taking, coordination, that are used
0:29:26 > 0:29:29in all aspects of life. Elodie is just the happiest
0:29:30 > 0:29:43girl in the world. She's finding out new things
0:29:44 > 0:29:47about music every day. She's discovered what she really,
0:29:48 > 0:29:52really, really enjoys. The workshop has helped Elodie
0:29:53 > 0:29:56develop a love of music. We've noticed her confidence really
0:29:57 > 0:30:02growing in the last year. When I can see her laughing
0:30:03 > 0:30:05and enjoying herself it just Your donations will mean that more
0:30:06 > 0:30:27children like Elodie can enjoy love that film, I love how music has
0:30:28 > 0:30:32changed her life and given her such confidence. Let's give modern
0:30:33 > 0:30:35children more confidence tonight, if you can afford to, please support
0:30:36 > 0:30:36the work Children in Need is doing right across the UK by donating
0:30:37 > 0:30:51online. Thank you. Rochelle. Thanks is a
0:30:52 > 0:30:55word we say a lot on Children in Need simply because we have a huge

0:32:10 > 0:32:14this obsession with high-fiving, it's starting to be embarrassing. I
0:32:15 > 0:32:20fight that. Don't leave me hanging... Over the years there have
0:32:21 > 0:32:24been some unlikely musical combinations. Ulrika Jonsson and
0:32:25 > 0:32:27Kermit the Frog. One of my favourites. Johnny Vaughan and
0:32:28 > 0:32:33steps. Who could forget this one, Katie Price and Peter Andre, look at
