:00:18. > :00:21.# We're here in Swansea, at Pudsey's Big Welsh Party.
:00:22. > :00:25.# And I'm Wynne Evans to get the party started
:00:26. > :00:31.# So much Welsh talent from across the nation
:00:32. > :00:44.# And all we're asking for is your kind donation
:00:45. > :00:57.# And Jodi Bird will be taking flight.
:00:58. > :01:05.# The Baby Queens, they're all agreed to help raise cash
:01:06. > :01:21.Yes, hello and welcome to Pudsey's Big Welsh Party,
:01:22. > :01:29.coming from the Great Hall at Swansea University!
:01:30. > :01:31.We have a great show for you tonight,
:01:32. > :01:33.and the first of our brilliant guests is a group of
:01:34. > :01:36.unlikely lads who have only gone and bagged themselves
:01:37. > :01:40.a residency on the strip in Las Vegas ? ladies
:01:41. > :01:58.and gentlemen, boys and girls, it's Tenors of Rock!
:01:59. > :02:12.# There's a lady who knows # All that glitters is gold
:02:13. > :02:20.# And she's buying a stairway to heaven
:02:21. > :02:28.# When she gets there, she knows # If the stores are all closed
:02:29. > :02:48.# With a word she can get what she came for
:02:49. > :03:02.# # And she's buying a stairway to
:03:03. > :03:03.heaven # And she's buying a stairway to
:03:04. > :03:28.heaven # Baby I ain't fooling
:03:29. > :03:35.# I'll have to send you back to school
:03:36. > :03:45.# Way down inside I'm going to give you my love
:03:46. > :03:55.# Want a whole lot of love # Want a whole lot of love
:03:56. > :04:07.# Yeah, yeah, yeah # Want a whole lot of love
:04:08. > :04:17.# Still got a whole lot of love # I'm here to say
:04:18. > :04:27.# Let loose # People looking to the stars
:04:28. > :04:51.# Each and every one of ours is running wild
:04:52. > :05:03.# Yeah, yeah, yeah # Want a whole lot of love #. Thank
:05:04. > :05:08.you. Gareth, tell us about this
:05:09. > :05:22.Las Vegas booking. We've been going back to Vegas a few
:05:23. > :05:27.times, and we got the attention of some bookers. We got a phone call
:05:28. > :05:33.when we were in Manila. Only two other Welsh acts have done this,
:05:34. > :05:40.Shirley Bassey and Tom Jones. We cannot really believe it. Tom is a
:05:41. > :05:48.legend out there. Five is great, but six would be better, wouldn't it?
:05:49. > :05:57.Yeah! Let's do it. Thank you very much to the Tenors of Rock. You can
:05:58. > :06:01.donate ?10 by your mobile to Children in Need. We have to tell
:06:02. > :06:05.you the terms and conditions. Tonight, we have to sing the terms
:06:06. > :06:19.of conditions to you to make it more interesting.
:06:20. > :06:29.# Texts will cost your donation, plus your standard network message
:06:30. > :06:39.charge # And all of your donations
:06:40. > :06:49.# Will go to BBC Children in Need # You must be 16 or over
:06:50. > :06:53.# And please ask the bill payer's permission
:06:54. > :07:03.# For more information # And for terms and conditions
:07:04. > :07:13.# Go to our website # Please donate your money today #.
:07:14. > :07:16.Never have I been so interested in the terms and conditions. We will be
:07:17. > :07:25.hearing more from Jodie later on. Now, throughout the show we'll
:07:26. > :07:28.have our pick of the best of last night's fundraising extravaganza
:07:29. > :07:29.on BBC One. First up is this performance
:07:30. > :07:31.from Little Mix. Welcome to Haringey Shed,
:07:32. > :07:33.one of the amazing projects funded Today, the children think they're
:07:34. > :07:37.here to rehearse our version They just think it's
:07:38. > :07:41.an ordinary rehearsal, but they're in fact in for a little
:07:42. > :07:44.bit of a Little Mix surprise. Whilst the children are going
:07:45. > :07:46.through their warm-ups, unbeknown to them, we'll be
:07:47. > :07:48.watching their every move. We've put a team of workmen
:07:49. > :07:51.in disguise in the studio to really throw them
:07:52. > :07:53.off the scent. And the staff and all the volunteers
:07:54. > :07:56.are all involved. All right, ready,
:07:57. > :08:06.Terry, thanks, mate. Sorry, we're just trying
:08:07. > :08:31.to do one chorus. # All the girls
:08:32. > :09:01.on the block knocking at my door # Want to know what it is
:09:02. > :09:06.make the boys want more # All the girls on the block
:09:07. > :09:25.knocking at my door # Want to know what it is
:09:26. > :09:30.make the boys want more # And it's called
:09:31. > :09:42.Black Magic... # I was, like, oh, my gosh! I can't
:09:43. > :10:04.believe Little Mix were here. And it's like my dream world has
:10:05. > :10:06.come true. We wanted to come down here and see
:10:07. > :10:12.what everyone does So, what sort of activities
:10:13. > :10:15.do you do here? We do acting, singing,
:10:16. > :10:19.and playing instruments. So what would you guys
:10:20. > :10:25.say is the best thing If you mostly come
:10:26. > :10:28.here all the time, It was really amazing
:10:29. > :10:57.when they just popped out of there because we never
:10:58. > :11:01.knew they were there. Little Mix were burst out,
:11:02. > :11:05.I was actually crying. It was the best day
:11:06. > :11:28.I've ever had, ever. Now, one of the big highlights
:11:29. > :11:31.of every Children in Need is where choirs from around the UK
:11:32. > :11:34.all sing together to help raise This year was no exception,
:11:35. > :11:38.and I went along to one of the local Swansea schools as they rehearsed
:11:39. > :11:46.for this year's song. So I've come to this primary school
:11:47. > :11:51.to find out how rehearsals have been going. We asked some of the kids
:11:52. > :11:56.hear what they think of Children in Need. Let's get this choir into
:11:57. > :12:05.shape! I want you just clap. One, two, three, four. So what is
:12:06. > :12:12.Children in Need all about? To help children that are in need, and that
:12:13. > :12:16.need help with some things. Yes? It just helps other children get a
:12:17. > :12:25.better life. Can't argue with that. What have you been up to this week?
:12:26. > :12:30.Trying to get lots of money. Now time to pass on some of my many
:12:31. > :12:37.years of musical training. Don't show that bit! What is it like being
:12:38. > :12:42.in the choir? It's really fun being in the choir, because I like
:12:43. > :12:51.singing. Not everyone gets to do this. I might get a bit nervous. I
:12:52. > :12:58.don't think I'm going to be nervous, because I will be singing with other
:12:59. > :13:03.people. Singing is great. We will be superb in Swansea. We are going to
:13:04. > :13:09.be the best. Why is Children in Need so good? Pudsey Bear. We are
:13:10. > :13:15.donating money and it is a special day. I really, really love Children
:13:16. > :13:21.in Need, because you are helping people by raising money. And we will
:13:22. > :13:25.be seeing the full song with the massed UK choir later on.
:13:26. > :13:27.Plus we've got magician and Britain's Got Talent
:13:28. > :13:29.winner Richard Jones, more of the best bits from last
:13:30. > :13:31.night's show and also lots of homegrown Welsh talent,
:13:32. > :13:35.all helping us raise as much money as we can for Children in Need.
:13:36. > :13:38.And talking of Welsh talent ? time for some music now from a band
:13:39. > :13:42.They have a bit of a gender imbalance going on -
:13:43. > :13:45.there are five girls and one boy in this band ? is that allowed?
:13:46. > :13:53.Of course it is, please give a big welcome to Baby Queens!
:13:54. > :14:55.# Thinking the ways that I can break it to you
:14:56. > :14:58.# This love's overdue, gotta be honest with you
:14:59. > :15:01.# I wish my mind would feel the way my heart feels
:15:02. > :15:02.# This emotional attachment is so real
:15:03. > :15:13.# This predicament is one big mystery
:15:14. > :16:14.# This predicament is one big mystery
:16:15. > :17:40.They are brilliant, thanks so much for joining us in Swansea tonight.
:17:41. > :17:42.Last night, of course, was the big Children in Need show
:17:43. > :17:57.from Elstree, and here's one of my highlights.
:17:58. > :18:00.Keeping the Welsh connection going, Rob Brydon was in the chair for one
:18:01. > :18:04.of my favourite shows. Good evening and welcome
:18:05. > :18:06.to a very special edition of Would I Lie To You
:18:07. > :18:08.for Children In Need. On Lee Mack's team tonight,
:18:09. > :18:10.ten-year-old unicorn And 11-year-old football mad
:18:11. > :18:16.Jack from Wrexham. And on David Mitchell's team
:18:17. > :18:18.tonight, nine-year-old self-confessed tomboy
:18:19. > :18:23.Zara from Nottingham. And nine-year-old aspiring inventor
:18:24. > :18:29.Adit from Harrow. This is the autograph I got
:18:30. > :18:40.from Lee Mack after I accidentally Now, Lee, maybe you could read to us
:18:41. > :18:45.what it was that you wrote It certainly sounds like the sort
:18:46. > :18:55.of joke you'd to try to make. So where did this happen,
:18:56. > :18:59.Kitty? It was in a Waitrose
:19:00. > :19:00.cafe. Very working class
:19:01. > :19:08.and down-to-earth. Could you change that
:19:09. > :19:12.to ASDA or Lidl? Lee Mack was in a Waitrose cafe
:19:13. > :19:18.having a pheasant wrap? I wanted to get his attention,
:19:19. > :19:21.so I walked over. Why didn't you want to
:19:22. > :19:41.meet her again? Why did you wish
:19:42. > :19:43.you'd never met her? I think it was to do
:19:44. > :19:46.with the scalding pain in my legs. So, what do you think
:19:47. > :19:48.then, David's team? I don't think you would
:19:49. > :19:54.write on a napkin. OK, right, Kitty,
:19:55. > :19:58.truth or lie? I can play a TV theme tune
:19:59. > :20:08.on the thing Rob is about to I tell you what, this
:20:09. > :20:22.is going to be interesting. I mean, first of all,
:20:23. > :20:25.what is it? Well, I don't know,
:20:26. > :20:26.you're so small, Rob, It could be something
:20:27. > :20:36.you find in a Kinder Egg. Well, you tell us,
:20:37. > :20:41.you know what it is, Adit. It's not a trumpet, it's not
:20:42. > :20:45.a trumpet. You say you play the theme tune
:20:46. > :20:50.to a television show? That's a good question,
:20:51. > :20:54.which show? I can't really remember
:20:55. > :21:02.the other ones. You see, now we're in this tricky
:21:03. > :21:08.situation, aren't we, because if we ask him to play it
:21:09. > :21:11.and he's telling the truth, he will deliberately not be able
:21:12. > :21:15.to play it, won't he, to trick us. I think if we just discuss it,
:21:16. > :21:17.and then if it's true, Adit will play the tune,
:21:18. > :21:20.and if it's not true, You think it's true and he's
:21:21. > :21:33.pretending he didn't know what kind of instrument
:21:34. > :21:34.it was? I'm going with Jack
:21:35. > :21:38.and saying it's true. You are watching Pudsey's Big Welsh
:21:39. > :22:20.Party. from the Great Hall
:22:21. > :22:21.in Swansea University! Been busy raising
:22:22. > :22:23.money for Children in Need - and this next
:22:24. > :22:25.film is just one example of where that money
:22:26. > :22:45.is spent in Wales - it's a This is Cwmparc at the end of the
:22:46. > :22:51.Rhonda Valley. There's one road in and the same road out. Like many
:22:52. > :22:58.parts of the valleys it's a former mining town with a strong sense of
:22:59. > :23:04.community. And one of the focal points of this community is Alison
:23:05. > :23:08.House, a former old people centre which for 15 years has been a safe
:23:09. > :23:12.centre for young people to come, played learn and have fun. And this
:23:13. > :23:24.place wouldn't be here without Children in Need. Ask almost anyone
:23:25. > :23:29.in Cwmparc and they will know Beth Williams. She is the driving force
:23:30. > :23:37.behind Alison house and she is like a second mother to lots of these
:23:38. > :23:46.young people here. Bev's everything, you can always trust her. Awarded to
:23:47. > :23:55.diesel Fisher for outstanding performance in the challenges. She's
:23:56. > :23:58.such an easy person to get on with. She's loyal, respectful, and
:23:59. > :24:04.anything you need, just ask and she will help you. Terry came here as a
:24:05. > :24:09.teenager and Bev stuck with him through some tricky times. From the
:24:10. > :24:13.ups and downs, from turning 18, I decided to go on the wrong path but
:24:14. > :24:19.I was fortunate enough to have somebody like Bev go out of her way
:24:20. > :24:24.to say, come on, let's give you a boost. Bev asked Terry to volunteer
:24:25. > :24:27.on a sent him on courses and sent him for interviews. He has a
:24:28. > :24:33.full-time job working on the railway. When I look at Kerry I
:24:34. > :24:38.think, look how well you've done. You had problems, look how well he
:24:39. > :24:44.has done. You can see that there are ways out of things. I come back to
:24:45. > :24:49.visit, I see the youngsters in my shoes five or ten years ago, helping
:24:50. > :24:54.out and volunteering. You realise them how lucky you are to be able to
:24:55. > :24:58.use a club like this. Hopefully the funding will carry on. And that's
:24:59. > :25:04.the point. Without your donations, Alison house would shut and Bev
:25:05. > :25:07.wouldn't be able to do what she does, helping children become adults
:25:08. > :25:12.and showing them it is good to help others. We have kids here five years
:25:13. > :25:16.old, sitting in the corner, don't know what to play with, don't know
:25:17. > :25:19.what to do. The old ones will come along and take them under their wing
:25:20. > :25:24.and that's fantastic. That's the best feeling in the world for me.
:25:25. > :25:28.Best job in the world, I love it. This is so much more than a youth
:25:29. > :25:35.club. It's a special place which, for 15 years, has been a vital part
:25:36. > :25:38.of Cwmparc. When people are in the shop buying Pudsey Bear and things,
:25:39. > :25:52.it's all coming to good causes like ours. You are helping causes like
:25:53. > :26:02.ours, thank you very much. Perhaps we should leave the last word to
:26:03. > :26:10.Diesel. It's fun, there are lots of things to do around here, it's the
:26:11. > :26:17.best thing you can basically do. Here is the star of that film,
:26:18. > :26:26.Diesel. What does Alison house mean to you? My childhood, all my
:26:27. > :26:30.memories and everything. How crucial is the Children in Need funding? It
:26:31. > :26:33.is crucial, we are in a deprived area and Children in Need has been
:26:34. > :26:38.funding us for 20 years and without it we would not be able to run. Did
:26:39. > :26:43.you enjoy seeing yourself in the film? Yes, and I was so proud of
:26:44. > :26:44.everybody, especially Diesel. Absolutely brilliant.
:26:45. > :26:47.Well, if you want to help projects like Alison House,
:26:48. > :26:49.you can give ?10 right now by texting from your phone.
:26:50. > :27:05.And here are the terms and conditions.
:27:06. > :27:14.# Texts will cost your donation plus your standard network charge
:27:15. > :27:18.# And your donation will go to Children in Need
:27:19. > :27:22.# Yes, your donation # Yes, your donation will go to
:27:23. > :27:27.Children in Need # Your donation will go to Children
:27:28. > :27:35.in Need # You must be 16 or over
:27:36. > :27:39.# And please ask the bill payer's permission
:27:40. > :27:48.# For more information and full terms and conditions

:27:56. > :28:08.# # Will go to BBC Children in Need.
:28:09. > :28:17.Thank you very much. And as promised, this is the moment when
:28:18. > :28:23.our choir sang their hearts out for Children in Need.
:28:24. > :28:25.the UK Children's Choir, including pupils from four local
:28:26. > :28:34.# Sometimes in our lives we all have pain
:28:35. > :28:50.# We know that there's always tomorrow
:28:51. > :29:25.# So just call on me, brother when you need a hand
:29:26. > :29:30.# I just might have a problem that you'd understand
:29:31. > :30:03.# So just call on me, brother when you need a hand
:30:04. > :30:14.# I just might have a problem that you'd understand
:30:15. > :30:32.# If I have things you need to borrow
:30:33. > :30:37.# For no-one can fill those of your needs
:30:38. > :31:25.# If there is a load you have to bear
:31:26. > :33:01.Well, I am sure you agree, our choir was amazing!
:33:02. > :33:05.Let's take a look now at another highlight
:33:06. > :33:15.from last night's big Children in Need show.
:33:16. > :33:22.I couldn't have wished for anything better than this performance from
:33:23. > :34:04.the cast of the West and's latest show, Aladdin.
:34:05. > :34:15.# A whole new world # 100,000 things to see
:34:16. > :34:20.# I'm like a shooting star # I've come so far
:34:21. > :34:26.# I can't go back to where I used to be.
:34:27. > :34:32.# A whole new world # With new horizons to see
:34:33. > :34:37.# An chase them anywhere # There's time to spare
:34:38. > :34:44.# Let me share this whole new world with you.
:34:45. > :34:53.# A whole new world # I swear we'll be
:34:54. > :35:20.# For you and me # You've got three wishes
:35:21. > :35:26.# Master, you're in luck # Because up your sleeve
:35:27. > :35:29.# The magic never fails # You've got some power in your
:35:30. > :35:36.corner # You've got some punch, all you've
:35:37. > :35:43.got to do is run that lamp # Mr Aladdin, Sir,
:35:44. > :35:48.# What will your pleasure be # Let me take your order
:35:49. > :35:53.# You've never had a friend like me # Come on, kid
:35:54. > :35:55.# Listen up # Can your friends do this?
:35:56. > :36:30.# Can your friends do that? # Can your friends do this?
:36:31. > :36:41.# Can your friends do that? # Can your friends go, abracadabra?
:36:42. > :36:45.# Somebody call me a taxi # And I'll take it home
:36:46. > :36:57.# Come on! # Mr Aladdin's cave Sir
:36:58. > :37:03.# You ain't never had a friend, never had a friend
:37:04. > :37:14.# Never! # Had a friend like me!
:37:15. > :37:21.# Never had a friend like me #. Now, we're in The Great Hall,
:37:22. > :37:24.which is a brand new venue on the huge Swansea Bay campus
:37:25. > :37:26.of Swansea University. And earlier on this week,
:37:27. > :37:29.this very building hosted a night of comedy to help raise money
:37:30. > :37:41.for BBC Children in Need. So I'm down here in Swansea for what
:37:42. > :37:45.I've been promised is going to be a great night of comedy, but I will be
:37:46. > :37:51.the judge of that. Let's check it out. Good evening and welcome. A
:37:52. > :38:03.quick round of applause for Children in Need night! Come on, here we go.
:38:04. > :38:08.Nice to be here. It was my birthday recently, and as a present, my
:38:09. > :38:15.girlfriend got me a square box for the flat. And now, every time I say
:38:16. > :38:20.a swear word, I have to spend the night at home. Have a walk down our
:38:21. > :38:25.lovely canal system, and over the other side of the canal, I saw a
:38:26. > :38:31.little baby seagull with a broken wing. I rang the RSPCA.
:38:32. > :38:35.Unfortunately for me, I got through to the West Midlands switchboard,
:38:36. > :38:40.which did nothing to the stereotype. I said, I'd like to report an
:38:41. > :38:50.injured seagull. She said, you would like to report a ninja seagull? I'm
:38:51. > :38:57.from a place called Chatham. I know it was the birthplace of the chavs,

:39:28. > :39:36.could change your life. Who is up for it? I'm here backstage with some
:39:37. > :39:42.of the high-quality talent, and I've brought some of our guinea pigs with
:39:43. > :39:47.us. Any advice for this lot before the one-liner challenge? Timing, and
:39:48. > :39:53.don't worry about the audience. You cannot see them anyway. Just enjoy
:39:54. > :40:01.yourself. If you enjoy yourself, they will. Two very different

:40:13. > :40:32.Pellu me! - Mac Halloumi. The other evening I
:40:33. > :40:38.was in the kitchen washing up, when I picked up a saucer, and I happened
:40:39. > :40:45.to glance at it. To my amazement, there was a group of spiders on it.
:40:46. > :40:51.They were kicking around a very tiny football ball. One takes out a tiny

:40:57. > :41:03.that's not good enough. Remember, in two weeks, you are playing in the

:48:17. > :49:01.Now we are in Swansea University, where earlier this week,
:49:02. > :49:02.lots of students got involved with fundraising
:49:03. > :49:17.Raising money for Children in Need, come on guys! Haircut, ?5.
:49:18. > :49:21.Candyfloss, ?5. Thank you, have a nice day. I'm in my hometown of
:49:22. > :49:29.Swansea, lots of fundraising going on. I am protecting icy conditions
:49:30. > :49:35.later on. But first it into the warmth of the students nursery. How
:49:36. > :49:40.cute are these fundraisers? Sponsored Kate, lots of colouring,
:49:41. > :49:45.the children are wearing pyjamas. Where are your pyjamas? Mine are at
:49:46. > :49:53.home. No pyjamas but she put something in the pot. Helping the

:49:58. > :50:02.Go Swansea for Pudsey. Their kids have a special Pudsey twist. We've
:50:03. > :50:07.got all the sports team in these socks, we are hoping to sell 1000 by
:50:08. > :50:10.the end of the week to raise ?5,000 for Children in Need. I braved the
:50:11. > :50:16.rain to meet the ultimate Frisbee team. Ultimately I'm pretty useless.
:50:17. > :50:21.Great chance to give back to the community. We are really keen on
:50:22. > :50:26.raising money for children. These Pudsey Sox are a cool way of doing
:50:27. > :50:32.that. Children in Need mean Strictly and the dance Society have laid
:50:33. > :50:35.their parts. We did a Strictly Come Dancing event, we had a winner at
:50:36. > :50:41.being of the night. How much did you raise? ?474. After such an
:50:42. > :50:48.impressive effort from all, those icy conditions are now unavoidable!
:50:49. > :50:57.This is for Pudsey after all. If you can't beat them, join them!
:50:58. > :51:03.This year we were reminded of the incredible support Terry Wogan gave
:51:04. > :51:06.to Children in Need. I picked this performance from take that as my
:51:07. > :51:23.highlight. # You, you're such a big star to me
:51:24. > :51:27.# You're everything I wanna be # But you're stuck in a hole
:51:28. > :51:33.and I want you to get out # But I know it's time
:51:34. > :51:38.for you to leave # We're
:51:39. > :51:40.all just pushing along # Trying to figure it out,
:51:41. > :51:42.out, out # All your anticipation
:51:43. > :51:43.pulls you down # When you can have
:51:44. > :51:46.it all, you can have it all # So come on, come on,
:51:47. > :51:51.get it on # Don't know what you're
:51:52. > :51:53.waiting for # Your time is coming
:51:54. > :51:57.don't be late, hey hey # Stop being so hard
:51:58. > :52:15.on yourself # It's not good
:52:16. > :52:19.for your health # I know that
:52:20. > :52:23.you can change # So clear your head
:52:24. > :52:25.and come round # You only have
:52:26. > :52:28.to open your eyes # You might just
:52:29. > :52:33.get a big surprise # And you might want to smile,
:52:34. > :52:38.smile, smile # So come on, come on,
:52:39. > :52:42.get it on # Don't know what you're
:52:43. > :52:44.waiting for # Your time is coming
:52:45. > :52:46.don't be late, hey hey # You're all that matters

:53:30. > :54:10.don't be late, hey hey # You're all that matters
:54:11. > :54:39.From the Albert Hall in London back to the great Hall in Swansea and my
:54:40. > :54:40.chance to meet the reigning champion of Britain's got talent, magician
:54:41. > :54:48.Richard Jones. Loads of things I did not know about
:54:49. > :54:54.you, you only took magic two years ago, you still in the Army in the
:54:55. > :54:58.cavalry? Yes, a lot of people assumed I left the army when I won
:54:59. > :55:02.but I am still there. I took up magic when I joined the Army,
:55:03. > :55:06.travelling the world, a lot of time on coaches and aeroplanes to learn
:55:07. > :55:10.sleight of hand techniques. I have fast tracked the last few years.
:55:11. > :55:14.Swansea will be your home over Christmas, you are doing a panto?
:55:15. > :55:19.I'm really looking forward to the panto season, hoping to see as many
:55:20. > :55:23.people are here tonight in December. What are you going to be, Aladdin or
:55:24. > :55:30.something? I'm Merlin. Absolutely brilliant. At the grand Theatre?
:55:31. > :55:35.Yes. I presume you are going to do some magic? Absolutely. I need to
:55:36. > :55:41.macro volunteers. Can we have two volunteers from the audience? You,
:55:42. > :55:46.madam. And you, Madam as well. Fantastic, give them a round of
:55:47. > :55:53.applause as they come up. Thank you very much for joining us. If you
:55:54. > :55:58.could join us on the sofa. Going to do a bit of mind reading. I've got
:55:59. > :56:02.some books here. I'll give you the dictionary, and if you both take a
:56:03. > :56:08.book. We will try to find a word at random. Would you mind saying stop?
:56:09. > :56:15.Stops. Look at the page number we have stopped on and find it in your
:56:16. > :56:19.books as quickly as possible. Quick as you can, find the page. I just
:56:20. > :56:23.want you to remember the first word on the first line of the page for
:56:24. > :56:28.me. You have both got a word locked in your mind. Now it all depends on
:56:29. > :56:33.how well I can read people. I'm going to try it with yourself. Think
:56:34. > :56:44.of your word, have you got one? Yeah. Good stuff. I don't know why,
:56:45. > :56:49.but I'm getting a number. I'm getting a number. I don't know why.
:56:50. > :56:53.Does that mean anything to you? Knows.
:56:54. > :57:00.It's not a number plate or something. What is the word you are
:57:01. > :57:04.thinking of? Design. This is a tough one but I'm going to try and put
:57:05. > :57:09.this back with a big finish. You've got the dictionary in your hand. Can
:57:10. > :57:16.you turn to page 88, quick as you can. Hopefully this will be a big
:57:17. > :57:20.finish. You chose design. 88, there should be two columns, left and
:57:21. > :57:28.right. Look down the left column, count down 12 words and tell us what
:57:29. > :57:43.is that word? Am I allowed to show it to the camera? Go for it. Design.
:57:44. > :57:50.Thank God. There we go. Wow. Wowee. Thank you, Cheers. Richard Jones,
:57:51. > :57:55.thank you so much. Now it's time to see a film about a little boy called
:57:56. > :58:07.Eli. Eli is for now. When he was born,
:58:08. > :58:16.there was a high number of children born with downs. We had a network of
:58:17. > :58:20.parents of children, and we started doing more activities together, and
:58:21. > :58:30.then we eventually decided to form a hands up for downs. Just a few hours
:58:31. > :58:35.after Eli was born, the doctor sat us round the table and said, we
:58:36. > :58:41.think he's got down syndrome. For me, he was just my little boy. I
:58:42. > :58:49.didn't mind that he had Down's syndrome, he was just my boy. You
:58:50. > :58:53.find the things that are needed and required, and you think that if you
:58:54. > :58:58.need it, you will get it on the NHS. But that is not how it works. We
:58:59. > :59:07.started looking at services, and it is hard. So we started looking at
:59:08. > :59:12.fundraising. Can you find? Without the Children in Need funding, our
:59:13. > :59:17.children would not be accessing one-to-one speech and language
:59:18. > :59:23.provision. It's just been amazing. To be able to join in with other
:59:24. > :59:32.children and play games, important things like sentences, who is going
:59:33. > :59:38.neck? Whose turn it is? Eli can join in. It is very rewarding them that
:59:39. > :59:42.you are helping them to successfully join in conversations, and enjoy
:59:43. > :59:49.communication. It's lovely to see that. Goodbye, Eli. And that is why
:59:50. > :59:53.we are here. Seeing the difference
:59:54. > :59:55.that your donations can make to young people like Eli,
:59:56. > :59:57.it explains why we are all here tonight, and there's still time
:59:58. > :00:00.to give money to help children You can give right now
:00:01. > :00:04.by text or via the website. # To donate ?10, text
:00:05. > :00:08.the word Donate to 70410 # Plus your standard network
:00:09. > :00:15.message charge # And please ask
:00:16. > :00:30.the bill payer's permission Now, we have a certain bear
:00:31. > :00:50.who's desperate to join Gareth, can Pudsey have a go, too?
:00:51. > :01:01.Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, a very special
:01:02. > :01:03.performance from Pudsey # I'm just another heart
:01:04. > :01:20.in need of rescue # And I'm gonna hold on for
:01:21. > :01:29.the rest of my days # Cos I know what it means
:01:30. > :01:35.Whoa-oh-oh # To walk along
:01:36. > :01:39.the lonely street of dreams # Goin' down the only
:01:40. > :01:49.road I've ever known # Like a drifter I was
:01:50. > :02:17.born to walk alone # Again
:02:18. > :03:10.# If you wanna be a singer or play guitar
:03:11. > :03:14.# Man, you gotta sweat or you won't get far
:03:15. > :03:18.# Cos it's never too late to work nine-to-five
:03:19. > :03:26.# You can take a stand or you can compromise
:03:27. > :03:28.# You can work real hard or just fantasise
:03:29. > :03:30.# But you don't start living till you realise
:03:31. > :04:11.Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. The Tenors of Rock. We need
:04:12. > :04:13.everybody on their feet, and hands in the air!
:04:14. > :04:50.Because of you, Children in Need helps children across the UK. All
:04:51. > :04:57.across the UK. From Scotland. To England. Wales. To Northern Ireland.
:04:58. > :05:03.Because of you, help is never far away. Your parents are always there
:05:04. > :05:09.for you, but she's someone else. She's very special. Because of you,
:05:10. > :05:14.there is a bright future. Because of you, there is help in the toughest
:05:15. > :05:22.times. I knew from that moment on that he would be OK. You have helped
:05:23. > :05:27.children smile and laugh, even when life feels really hard. Children in
:05:28. > :05:42.Need can make a difference, and it's all because of you. Any-macro thank
:05:43. > :05:49.you. Thank you. You. Thank you. Well, we've come to the end of the
:05:50. > :05:55.show. Thank you to everybody who has donated and supported Children in
:05:56. > :06:00.Need. Thanks to Pudsey. Thanks to our hosts, Swansea University, and
:06:01. > :06:05.to our artists, Tenors of Rock, Richard Jones, Baby Queens, and Jodi
:06:06. > :06:12.Bird. Jodi is going to join me now and our choir to sing us out. From
:06:13. > :06:17.Swansea, good night. # When I'm down
:06:18. > :06:26.# And all my soul is so weary # When troubles come
:06:27. > :06:35.# Then I am still # Right here in the silence
:06:36. > :06:40.# Until you come and sit a while with me
:06:41. > :06:46.# You raise me up so I can stand on mountains
:06:47. > :06:54.# You raise me up # To walk on stormy seas
:06:55. > :07:01.# I am strong when I am on your shoulder
:07:02. > :07:32.# You raise me up # To more than I can be

:08:25. > :09:06.And I'm so pleased to say, Wales raised a record breaking million.
:09:07. > :09:09.Christine, what would you like to drink? Have you any white wine? Yes.
:09:10. > :09:15.I'll have a large white wine, and a whisky and soda.
:09:16. > :09:18.Make sure that chicken's cooked properly. I will.
:09:19. > :09:24.I had a couple of peri-peri drummers when I was at that air show.
