:04:31. > :04:34.right here in the UK. There's no voting tonight,

:04:35. > :04:36.as our Children in Need champion will be chosen by four

:04:37. > :04:56.very important people. The athletes trained hard for the

:04:57. > :05:00.Olympic Games, but how hard did they train tonight? I am Hollie Webb and

:05:01. > :05:08.I was a member of the Team GB hockey team. It was the greatest moment of

:05:09. > :05:09.my life. I probably should not say that. It should have been when I got

:05:10. > :05:13.engaged. I'm Helen Glover, and I'm two-time

:05:14. > :05:15.Olympic rowing champion. Glover and Stanning defend

:05:16. > :05:16.their Olympic title! Steve and I got married three

:05:17. > :05:21.weeks after the Olympics. He did Strictly, actually, in 2014 -

:05:22. > :05:23.he's really, really intrigued I'm Lutalo Muhammad,

:05:24. > :05:27.Olympic silver medallist In my Olympic final, I was leading

:05:28. > :05:33.up till the last second. Each time I do watch it,

:05:34. > :05:37.I do feel some of the same emotion. I was so close to being

:05:38. > :05:40.Olympic champion! I mean, I don't cry or anything -

:05:41. > :05:44.I'm far too manly for that. I'm Joe Clarke, I'm a kayaker,

:05:45. > :05:46.and I won gold in One of the first things my mum said

:05:47. > :05:51.to me was, "When are Training's

:05:52. > :05:59.going really well. The harder I try, the more

:06:00. > :06:05.confused I'm getting. I'm really scared that my mind's

:06:06. > :06:08.just going to go blank. Really nervous - probably more

:06:09. > :06:11.nervous than I was at the Olympics. She's worked me really hard

:06:12. > :06:18.and never given me any rest so hopefully it's worth it

:06:19. > :06:21.in the end and I can win Dancing for the Pudsey

:06:22. > :06:28.Glitterball Trophy, MUSIC: The Edge of Glory

:06:29. > :09:41.by Lady Gaga So they are choosing

:09:42. > :10:08.our champion tonight - let's find out if the judges

:10:09. > :10:10.think our athletes are on the right track

:10:11. > :10:12.with that performance. Well, may I just say first of all,

:10:13. > :10:16.thank you so much for giving Craig, our athletes are of course

:10:17. > :10:43.incredibly fit, they're also Well, yes, it did, as a matter

:10:44. > :10:51.of fact, and I'm very proud of them But I'm going to be talking

:10:52. > :10:56.a little bit about Hollie. I'm going to say, if I could ever

:10:57. > :11:04.play hockey, darling, You are absolutely

:11:05. > :11:09.amazing at that. Well, I can't believe,

:11:10. > :11:19.actually, all of you, how much But I have to say, I couldn't

:11:20. > :11:23.take my eyes off your Divine lines that you made,

:11:24. > :11:28.lovely lunge at the very end. So who will be crowned

:11:29. > :11:42.Children in Need champions? Tonight, the judges will make

:11:43. > :11:45.a group decision, while they confer, On behalf of all the judges, Len,

:11:46. > :12:00.as head judge, can you please tell May I first say, if they gave out

:12:01. > :12:04.medals for commitment and effort, you'd all be gold medallists,

:12:05. > :12:10.because you were brilliant. But we have come to a conclusion,

:12:11. > :12:14.and our winners and Children in Need Oh, I don't

:12:15. > :12:34.believe it! You came so close to

:12:35. > :13:04.winning gold in Rio. I just want to say a big

:13:05. > :13:10.thank you to the judges, And of course to my lovely

:13:11. > :13:14.dance partner Karen. Brilliant, thank you so

:13:15. > :13:19.much for taking part. A huge thank you to all our couples

:13:20. > :13:23.and to you at home for We'll be back very soon,

:13:24. > :13:46.but in the meantime... That was brilliant! Thanks to

:13:47. > :13:51.everyone at Strictly and of course, those fantastic Team GB Olympians.

:13:52. > :13:55.Well done, dies! Still to come on Children In Need's best bits, music

:13:56. > :13:59.from Craig David, East Enders go back to the 80s and Eddie Redmayne

:14:00. > :14:03.is in search of a pretty fantastic beast. But before all that, we

:14:04. > :14:11.should never forget why Children In Need happens every year. Here's a

:14:12. > :14:16.reminder. Because of you, Children In Need

:14:17. > :14:24.helps children across the UK. All across the UK. From Scotland! To

:14:25. > :14:29.England. Wales. To Northern Ireland. Because of you, help is never far

:14:30. > :14:33.away. Your parents are always there for you but this is someone else.

:14:34. > :14:44.Because of you, there's a brighter future. Because of you, there's help

:14:45. > :14:51.in the toughest times. I knew from that moment on that it would be OK.

:14:52. > :14:58.You have helps children smile and love, even when life feels really

:14:59. > :15:04.hard. What you have done is amazing. But there is so much more to do. So

:15:05. > :15:08.please, phone tonight and do something incredible. One thing you

:15:09. > :15:18.must do tonight is picked up the phone. Go on! Go on! We need you. We

:15:19. > :15:23.need you. Because of you, Children In Need can make a difference.

:15:24. > :15:29.Because of you, my child got her smile back. Because of you, I've got

:15:30. > :15:36.friends. Because of you, my daughter can walk again. Because of you, my

:15:37. > :15:40.son can talk again. Because of you, I've got a friend. Children In Need

:15:41. > :15:48.can make a difference and it's all because of you. Thank you. Thank

:15:49. > :15:54.you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

:16:25. > :16:29.now, he was standing right in this spot, looking good and sounding good

:16:30. > :16:30.last night. Singing this here's Children In Need single, it is Craig

:16:31. > :16:32.David. # But I've been

:16:33. > :16:39.called into the light # Something about

:16:40. > :16:43.you makes me stronger # But all the lows,

:16:44. > :16:50.they feel like highs # When I'm with you

:16:51. > :17:44.I can hear them singing # The tears will fall

:17:45. > :17:51.when my eyes close # Lay me down

:17:52. > :18:13.# Don't let my feet touch the ground # Try to say the words

:18:14. > :18:35.but make no sound # Show me that you'll always be

:18:36. > :18:47.around # But time let us

:18:48. > :20:11.down Every year, the cast of Eastenders

:20:12. > :20:13.do something amazing the Children In Need and last up was no different.

:20:14. > :20:17.The residents of Albert Square when back in time for a musical

:20:18. > :20:21.celebration of the very best of iconic 80s films. It happened right

:20:22. > :20:23.here, and let me tell you this, it will take your breath away. Oh,

:20:24. > :20:29.yeah! MUSIC: Take My Breath Away by

:20:30. > :20:45.Berlin. # Give me time, I'll make you forget

:20:46. > :21:14.the rest # I've got more in me

:21:15. > :21:19.# And you can set it free # I'm going to learn

:21:20. > :21:36.how to fly # I'm going to make

:21:37. > :21:47.it to heaven # Light up the sky

:21:48. > :21:51.like a flame # I had the time of my life,

:21:52. > :22:39.and I owe it all to you # Don't be afraid to lose

:22:40. > :22:41.control # You're the one thing

:22:42. > :22:48.I can't get enough of # Because I've had

:22:49. > :23:04.the time of my life # Jack, get back, come on before

:23:05. > :24:32.we crack # Jack, get back, come on before

:24:33. > :25:13.we crack # Jack, get back, come on before

:25:14. > :26:07.we crack Woolford has never looked so Glam

:26:08. > :26:10.and that is what Children In Need is all about, raising money while

:26:11. > :26:13.having the time of your life. The other part is about coming together

:26:14. > :26:17.to help disadvantaged children and young people in every corner of the

:26:18. > :26:18.UK. This is a film about Macs and how his best mate Chloe has

:26:19. > :26:25.transformed his life. -- always. It's where the face

:26:26. > :26:29.forms differently. The ears don't have

:26:30. > :26:31.ear holes like mine. You're going to be deaf

:26:32. > :26:34.if you have that. Max has no ear canals,

:26:35. > :26:37.so although everything inside works, no sound gets in, so he has very

:26:38. > :26:40.unusual hearing aids. My hearing aids are like special

:26:41. > :26:43.hearing aids I have. He has implants in his head

:26:44. > :26:49.which they attach to. The sound goes into those,

:26:50. > :26:52.vibrates, and then he can hear. With his hearing aids in,

:26:53. > :26:56.Max's hearing is OK. But it's at night when the problems

:26:57. > :26:59.begin. In bed, he has to take the hearing

:27:00. > :27:03.aids out and he can't hear a thing. He would come downstairs,

:27:04. > :27:09.keep coming down, keep calling. It just made me feel

:27:10. > :27:11.terrified at night. It got to the point where

:27:12. > :27:13.he actually did not It's all like silent and it just

:27:14. > :27:19.freaks me out a bit. It was just really, really difficult

:27:20. > :27:23.getting him to sleep. It's just the feeling

:27:24. > :27:26.of being alone. Sometimes the mind

:27:27. > :27:32.plays tricks on you. Chloe is a specially

:27:33. > :27:42.trained hearing dog. Thanks to you, she's just one

:27:43. > :27:48.of many dogs across the UK that support deaf children in their

:27:49. > :27:51.daily lives. She lies right there and I love

:27:52. > :27:58.that just because I can Him knowing that he can be

:27:59. > :28:04.woken by Chloe makes It makes him realise

:28:05. > :28:11.he is not isolated. It's like having the best friend

:28:12. > :28:17.in the world times ten next to you. In the past, Max has had people

:28:18. > :28:22.that have made nasty All of that just chips away,

:28:23. > :28:30.knocks his confidence. Some people treat me differently

:28:31. > :28:35.because of the way I look. Now when they say hello to Chloe,

:28:36. > :28:48.they say hello to me too, and that just makes me

:28:49. > :28:51.feel so happy. I feel like she's

:28:52. > :29:34.part of the family. You can also make a donation online.

:29:35. > :29:41.Still to come, music from the Children in Need children's choir

:29:42. > :29:47.and a sketch from Eddie Redmayne and friends. First, an early Christmas

:29:48. > :29:53.present. An appointment with the doctor, and I mean Doctor Who. A

:29:54. > :30:02.scene from this year's Christmas special.

:30:03. > :30:27.What is happening? What are you doing?

:30:28. > :30:42.Special agent Dan Dangerous from Scotland Yard.

:30:43. > :30:45.They have institutes all over the world but always

:30:46. > :30:58.New York is not a capital city, is it?

:30:59. > :31:01.You don't need to point out the mistakes, that is not what you are

:31:02. > :31:03.for. I would call security,

:31:04. > :31:06.but they might leave you alive. I do not want any awkward questions

:31:07. > :31:08.about the intruders. I was forced to shoot for my

:31:09. > :31:12.own protection. Tell them you shot us

:31:13. > :31:21.in the back in self-defence. We'll be laughing all

:31:22. > :31:25.the way to the slab. Face me

:31:26. > :31:26.now. It's like someone

:31:27. > :31:35.knocking on the window. We are on the 100th

:31:36. > :31:43.floor. The window, like everything,

:31:44. > :32:07.is built to withstand a blast equivalent to 4

:32:08. > :32:37.nuclear explosions. Please understand it is against my

:32:38. > :32:44.personal code to cause lasting harm to an individual, however, light to

:32:45. > :32:49.moderate injuries are fine. Will the dock to get out of that? You will

:32:50. > :33:00.have to wait until Christmas to find out -- Doctor Who?

:33:01. > :33:14.Next Rob Brydon with a special episode of Would I Lie To You? Good

:33:15. > :33:16.evening and welcome to a special edition of Would I Lie To You for

:33:17. > :33:21.Children In Need. On Lee Mack's team tonight,

:33:22. > :33:22.ten-year-old unicorn And 11-year-old football

:33:23. > :33:27.mad Jack from Wrexham. And on David Mitchell's team

:33:28. > :33:31.tonight, nine-year-old self-confessed tomboy

:33:32. > :33:36.Zara from Nottingham. And nine-year-old aspiring inventor

:33:37. > :33:43.Adit from Harrow. Ah, now then, there's

:33:44. > :33:55.a box under the desk. Could you first of all read out

:33:56. > :33:58.the card, Kitty, that's in there, and then when you've read it out,

:33:59. > :34:02.place the object on the desk. This is the autograph I got

:34:03. > :34:04.from Lee Mack after I accidentally Now, Lee, maybe you could read

:34:05. > :34:12.to us what it was that It certainly sounds

:34:13. > :34:19.like the sort of joke Very working class

:34:20. > :34:40.and down-to-earth. Could you change that

:34:41. > :34:42.to Asda or Lidl? Lee Mack was in a Waitrose cafe

:34:43. > :34:44.having a pheasant wrap? I wanted to get his attention,

:34:45. > :34:47.so I walked over. Kitty, why would you want

:34:48. > :34:53.to get his attention? So you walked up to him,

:34:54. > :35:02.and did he seem friendly, Kitty? Yeah.

:35:03. > :35:17.He might have been with, like... And then I was like, "Oh,

:35:18. > :35:33.sorry, sorry, sorry." And then we got someone to come

:35:34. > :35:36.and clear it up. And then I said,

:35:37. > :35:40."Can I get your autograph?" And then when you gave it to me,

:35:41. > :35:44.I was like, OK, wow. They don't care about autographs any

:35:45. > :35:57.more, it's all this, innit? I don't know if he had his phone

:35:58. > :36:04.on him, but a selfie, then. You'd have asked for

:36:05. > :36:06.a selfie on my phone? And then expected me to say,

:36:07. > :36:11."Here, have this?" Why didn't you want

:36:12. > :36:13.to meet her again? Why did you wish

:36:14. > :36:16.you'd never met her? I think it was to do

:36:17. > :36:19.with the scalding pain in my legs. And how do we know that that's

:36:20. > :36:21.a Waitrose napkin? Do you know the difference?

:36:22. > :36:26.No. Because if you do,

:36:27. > :36:29.we're in business. Would you like us to pass

:36:30. > :36:32.you the evidence? "I wish we'd never

:36:33. > :36:41.met," no full stop. So, what do you think

:36:42. > :36:49.then, David's team? I don't think you would

:36:50. > :36:56.write on a napkin. I can play a TV theme

:36:57. > :37:14.tune on the thing Rob Wow.

:37:15. > :37:19.Yes, wow, indeed. I tell you what, this

:37:20. > :37:30.is going to be interesting. Well, I don't know, you're so small,

:37:31. > :37:36.Rob, it's hard to get a perspective. It could be something

:37:37. > :37:43.you find in a Kinder Egg. Well, you tell us,

:37:44. > :37:47.you know what it is, Adit. It's not a trumpet, it's not

:37:48. > :37:52.a trumpet. You say you play the theme tune to a

:37:53. > :37:57.television show? Yeah.

:37:58. > :37:59.Which one, which TV show? That's a good question,

:38:00. > :38:01.which show? OK.

:38:02. > :38:08.Any others? I can't really remember

:38:09. > :38:10.the other ones. You see, now we're in this tricky

:38:11. > :38:15.situation, aren't we, because if we ask him to play it

:38:16. > :38:18.and he's telling the truth, he will deliberately

:38:19. > :38:20.not be able to play it, I think if we just discuss it,

:38:21. > :38:24.and then if it's true, Adit will play the tune,

:38:25. > :38:26.and if it's not true, I don't think it's true

:38:27. > :38:45.because he said he knows how to play a theme tune and he said,

:38:46. > :38:48."I can't remember the others." So you're not happy that he's

:38:49. > :38:50.changing the story. Yeah, my wife's got a similar

:38:51. > :38:58.face to that. You think it's true and he's

:38:59. > :39:07.pretending he didn't know what kind I'm going with Jack

:39:08. > :39:12.and saying it's true. That noise signals time is up

:39:13. > :40:10.and it's the end of the show. In real life,

:40:11. > :40:41.lying is a bit like me. I agree with Rob Brydon, honesty is

:40:42. > :40:45.the best policy. Every year on Children in Need we have a lot of

:40:46. > :40:50.fun in the name of helping disadvantaged children all over the

:40:51. > :40:52.UK. This is the story of Byron and how your kindness enabled one boy to

:40:53. > :41:00.make a very big splash. Learning to swim is something every

:41:01. > :41:02.child should do. And five-year-old

:41:03. > :41:05.Byron is no exception. He has swimming lessons once a week

:41:06. > :41:10.and he's doing so well. But for Byron, learning

:41:11. > :41:13.to swim is tough. He has cerebral palsy,
