0:15:49 > 0:15:52- Hands up if you remember - what an adjective is.

0:15:52 > 0:15:54- Tomi, what's an adjective?

0:15:54 > 0:15:57- Tomi, what's an adjective?- - A word to describe.

0:15:58 > 0:16:00- Quite a bit of forward planning - was needed...

0:16:00 > 0:16:03- ..before he moved here - from primary school.

0:16:03 > 0:16:06- I first met Tomi when he was - in Year 4 at Ysgol y Wern.

0:16:07 > 0:16:10- Ysgol y Wern did a fantastic job - of including him in everything.

0:16:10 > 0:16:13- Our challenge was to do the same - in secondary school.

0:16:14 > 0:16:17- There are two aspects to - what we need to adapt for Tomi.

0:16:17 > 0:16:21- One is to make sure he can - access everything physically.

0:16:21 > 0:16:24- The second - is for his visual impairment.

0:16:24 > 0:16:26- He has considerable - visual impairment.

0:16:26 > 0:16:30- He has no right-hand vision - in either eye.

0:16:30 > 0:16:33- That means he has to sit - on the left side of the class...

0:16:33 > 0:16:35- ..to see the teacher - and the whiteboard.

0:16:36 > 0:16:39- It also means leaving every lesson - five minutes early...

0:16:39 > 0:16:41- ..before the corridors fill up.

0:16:43 > 0:16:45- One thing we did - before Tomi came here...

0:16:45 > 0:16:49- ..was to make sure that every - member of staff had tried these.

0:16:50 > 0:16:53- I can't see you at all - with these on.

0:16:53 > 0:16:55- Do you want to try them?

0:16:55 > 0:17:01- It's very hard to understand his - vision problem without trying these.

0:17:06 > 0:17:10- This school seems rather successful - in the sporting world.

0:17:10 > 0:17:15- I wonder how good they are at - including young athletes like Tomi.

0:17:17 > 0:17:23- In terms of integration, Tomi has no - trouble with most of the curriculum.

0:17:26 > 0:17:31- With activities like running, - for example when we do 2km or 3km...

0:17:31 > 0:17:36- ..he comes in around half way - - he has good ability.

0:17:36 > 0:17:39- It's more of a challenge...

0:17:39 > 0:17:43- ..when we're playing rugby - or other contact sports.

0:17:45 > 0:17:47- Tomi's advantage - is his positive attitude...

0:17:47 > 0:17:51- ..and also the fact - that sport is important to him.

0:17:52 > 0:17:58- The confidence and self-respect - he gets from doing sport...

0:17:58 > 0:18:00- ..is extremely positive.

0:18:01 > 0:18:05- You might want to be a Paralympian - in future.

0:18:05 > 0:18:07- In which sport?

0:18:07 > 0:18:10- Erm... the 100m.

0:18:19 > 0:18:23- From the athletic track - to a car racing track.

0:18:23 > 0:18:25- I went to Oulton Park - near Chester...

0:18:25 > 0:18:28- ..to see Brian Roberts - testing a car he's been adapting.

0:18:29 > 0:18:34- Bri and his friend Steve - are preparing the car for the track.

0:18:34 > 0:18:36- How many cars are here today?

0:18:36 > 0:18:38- How many cars are here today?- - There are 72 cars.

0:18:40 > 0:18:43- But only 32 can go on the track - at the same time.

0:18:48 > 0:18:52- It's an opportunity for drivers - to test their cars...

0:18:52 > 0:18:55- ..at speeds not allowed - on the roads.

0:18:55 > 0:18:59- But as the track officials explain, - drivers can't race each other today.

0:19:00 > 0:19:03- We will impose a mandatory - twenty-minute sin bin.

0:19:10 > 0:19:13- I'm looking forward - to going around the track.

0:19:14 > 0:19:18- Before we start, what adaptations - have you made to the car?

0:19:18 > 0:19:21- This is the throttle and the brake.

0:19:21 > 0:19:23- You push down to brake...

0:19:23 > 0:19:26- ..and pull it towards you - for the throttle.

0:19:27 > 0:19:30- These two buttons change the gears.

0:19:30 > 0:19:31- There are six gears.

0:19:31 > 0:19:35- The green one changes down - and the red one changes up.

0:19:36 > 0:19:38- Did you adapt it yourself?

0:19:38 > 0:19:41- I did the gear change myself.

0:19:41 > 0:19:43- It was quite a feat.

0:21:18 > 0:21:20- It's quite a physical sport.

0:21:21 > 0:21:23- The steering was really heavy.

0:21:24 > 0:21:28- Brian then had an opportunity to try - out a race car with hand controls.

0:21:29 > 0:21:33- The car has power steering - so I didn't have any shoulder pain.
