0:11:02 > 0:11:07- A disaster happened - in this village, 90 years ago...

0:11:07 > 0:11:12- ..when the Llyn Eigiau dam broke.

0:11:12 > 0:11:17- The dam was built to supply water - for a new power house in Dolgarrog.

0:11:17 > 0:11:20- On that evening, 90 years ago...

0:11:20 > 0:11:25- ..gallons of water carried large - boulders and brought down houses.

0:11:26 > 0:11:31- The bursting of the dam could be - heard from Llanrwst, six miles away.

0:11:32 > 0:11:40- It was a disaster for the village.

0:11:42 > 0:11:49- On that night, 16 people died - and six of those were children.

0:11:49 > 0:11:53- Many more would've died...

0:11:53 > 0:11:57- ..if there hadn't been a showing - of a film in the village hall.
