0:26:50 > 0:26:55- Did you know that there's - an asparagus farm in Pembrokeshire?

0:27:02 > 0:27:06- Today, I'm at Springfields Farm - in Pembrokeshire.

0:27:06 > 0:27:14- It isn't home to sheep or cattle - but fields upon fields of asparagus.

0:27:16 > 0:27:24- The vegetable is usually harvested - between April and late June...

0:27:24 > 0:27:28- ..but you have to wait three years - if you grow them from seeds...

0:27:28 > 0:27:34- ..but then you can harvest them - every year for over 20 years!

0:27:35 > 0:27:40- In the first year, - the stems are very thin...

0:27:40 > 0:27:45- ..as thin as the inside of a biro.

0:27:46 > 0:27:50- The stems strengthen - over the following two years...
