0:33:13 > 0:33:18- I'd been having clots on my lung and - leg but didn't know why I had them.

0:33:19 > 0:33:21- They decided to do more tests.

0:33:22 > 0:33:28- I was struggling with stairs, was - short of breath and lacked energy.

0:33:29 > 0:33:36- It was confirmed that I had a rare - cancer in my blood and bone marrow.

0:33:36 > 0:33:40- I was given 18 months to live - if I was to go untreated.

0:33:44 > 0:33:50- But a glimmer of hope - came from the Anthony Nolan Trust.

0:33:50 > 0:33:56- Every 20 minutes in Britain, someone - is diagnosed with blood cancer.

0:33:56 > 0:34:02- This charity helps 70% of patients - by finding bone marrow donors.

0:34:04 > 0:34:10- After being given 18 months, I set - about finding a bone marrow donor.

0:34:12 > 0:34:20- We started with my family - and my sister was a perfect match...

0:34:20 > 0:34:24- ..but there was a problem - with the blood...

0:34:24 > 0:34:30- ..so we went to the Anthony Nolan - Trust to find the closest match.

0:34:33 > 0:34:39- I'm not allowed to know anything - about my donor for two years...

0:34:39 > 0:34:46- ..but have written a thank you card - that Anthony Nolan can pass on.
