0:26:22 > 0:26:27- We had a very wet summer in 1946 - and nobody had any hay.

0:26:31 > 0:26:37- Dad would go out to cut branches - for the sheep to peel as food.

0:26:38 > 0:26:41- We lost a lot of sheep, - like many others.

0:26:42 > 0:26:46- One good thing came in 1947 - and that was a baby.

0:26:46 > 0:26:52- Yes, it was me and I caused - a lot of problems for everyone.

0:26:52 > 0:26:57- The doctor and the nurse - had to come up to help.

0:28:14 > 0:28:18- He told us to get the fodder in - as we expected to have snow.

0:28:19 > 0:28:24- Farm buildings were covered in snow - so he couldn't get to the cowshed.

0:28:24 > 0:28:29- We couldn't find the wheelbarrow - or open any of the doors.

0:28:30 > 0:28:35- We couldn't muck out the cowshed - and we needed to milk.

0:28:35 > 0:28:38- Manure was everywhere - in the cowshed.

0:28:39 > 0:28:43- There were snowdrifts and I've - never witnessed anything like it.
