0:05:46 > 0:05:54- In 1948 or soon after - the end of the war...

0:05:55 > 0:05:59- ..Newborough sold the land, - farm and mansion...

0:06:00 > 0:06:08- ..and it was bought by the - Tudor family from Merionethshire.

0:06:08 > 0:06:15- After the war, the breweries - wanted wood to make beer kegs...

0:06:15 > 0:06:20- ..because the site was full of oak - trees and many were chopped down.

0:06:21 > 0:06:26- What are your thoughts of the - site's renovation into a hotel?

0:06:26 > 0:06:29- It's important - to move with the times.

0:06:31 > 0:06:34- It would be a tragedy - if it fell into ruins.

0:06:34 > 0:06:39- This is the dining room and it - will remain this way in the hotel.

0:06:40 > 0:06:45- When the family lived here, this - room had a large mahogany table...

0:06:46 > 0:06:50- ..where they would dine - and enjoy themselves.

0:06:50 > 0:06:56- The third Lord of Newborough spent - money on himself and his family...

0:07:20 > 0:07:25- We bought the property because - it's fantastic and in a lovely area.

0:07:25 > 0:07:29- This is a once-in-a-lifetime - opportunity...

0:07:29 > 0:07:34- ..to restore such - a magnificent Welsh heritage asset.

0:07:34 > 0:07:36- Currently, there's 101 rooms.

0:07:37 > 0:07:41- By the time we finish, - there will be about 40 bedrooms.

0:07:42 > 0:07:47- We've completed four bedrooms and - it's taken 15 months to do those.

0:07:48 > 0:07:52- One room took over 14 tons of - lime plaster so the rooms are huge.

0:07:53 > 0:07:57- There's not many like this in the UK - let alone Wales.

0:07:57 > 0:08:01- It's great that this place - is being saved.

0:08:01 > 0:08:05- The plan is to open the site - as a hotel in two years.

0:17:21 > 0:17:30- ..the Main Entrance Building in - St Fagans has opened to the public.

0:17:31 > 0:17:36- It's safe to say that the visitors - are quite shocked.

0:18:39 > 0:18:44- ..including the pupils of - the nearby school, Ysgol Coed y Gof.

0:18:50 > 0:18:53- It's amazing to have this incredible - educational tool on our doorstep.
