0:01:40 > 0:01:44- I'm here for the Welsh Vineyard - Association's Awards.

0:01:44 > 0:01:48- This is the highlight of the wine - industry in Wales.

0:01:48 > 0:01:53- Earlier today, I spoke a few experts - associated with the awards.

0:02:02 > 0:02:07- The Welsh Vineyard Association's - Annual Awards was founded in 2013.

0:02:07 > 0:02:14- The awards offer a great opportunity - to award great quality Welsh wines.

0:02:15 > 0:02:20- There are five categories, - Best White, Rose, Red, Sparkling...

0:02:20 > 0:02:24- ..and there will also be - one overall winner.

0:02:24 > 0:02:29- Over the last decade, the Welsh - wine industry has increased by 70%.

0:02:29 > 0:02:34- The vineyards create around - 100,000 bottles of wine every year.

0:02:34 > 0:02:40- There are 50 bottles of wine - from nine different vineyards here.

0:02:40 > 0:02:46- We established the vineyard in 2009 - and our son, Jack is the boss.

0:02:46 > 0:02:55- He's the expert and studied - how to run a vineyard at university.

0:03:20 > 0:03:26- In 2006, we thought global warming - would help to grow grapes...

0:03:26 > 0:03:30- ..and we've experienced - a lot of that weather since 2014.

0:03:31 > 0:03:35- The wind and rain we experience in - the Nantlle Valley is an obstacle.

0:03:35 > 0:03:38- Slowly, we're getting through it.

0:03:38 > 0:03:43- What do these awards mean to - the vineyards and to the industry?

0:03:43 > 0:03:48- These awards are very important.

0:03:49 > 0:03:55- In the past 20 years, the industry - has developed as has the standard.

0:03:55 > 0:03:58- Wales produces more wines.

0:03:59 > 0:04:04- We've had 50 different wine entries - and that's absolutely fantastic.

0:04:04 > 0:04:09- The judges are - internationally acclaimed...

0:04:09 > 0:04:12- ..and are bringing the standard - to the Welsh wines.

0:04:16 > 0:04:21- Seeing the results so far, it's very - promising and positive for the wine.

0:04:21 > 0:04:26- Around 20 years ago, we couldn't put - Welsh wines on our menus.

0:04:26 > 0:04:30- These days, we have plenty of choice - and the standard is incredibly high.

0:04:31 > 0:04:35- It's important that we celebrate in - a traditional way with the awards.
