0:11:01 > 0:11:06- I finished in Bodego Bay - which is north of San Francisco.

0:11:06 > 0:11:10- How long has it taken - for you to complete the challenge?

0:11:10 > 0:11:15- The whole trek - has taken about eight years...

0:11:15 > 0:11:19- ..but I did it in stages - of three months twice a year.

0:11:19 > 0:11:23- You've achieved something amazing - and unique.

0:11:23 > 0:11:26- Has anybody else - completed this challenge?

0:11:27 > 0:11:30- I don't think anyone has ridden - on horseback through Malaya.

0:11:30 > 0:11:36- I'm certain that nobody - has ridden around the world.

0:11:37 > 0:11:40- Megan learnt some Chinese - and Russian before leaving...

0:11:40 > 0:11:44- ..which helped her on her journey...

0:11:44 > 0:11:50- ..but she still had to rely - on the generosity of others.

0:11:50 > 0:11:55- A lot of people helped me with food - and giving me a place to sleep.

0:11:55 > 0:12:02- I slept in sheds, a garage - and also a bed from time to time!

0:12:02 > 0:12:07- What sort of obstacles - did you have to overcome?

0:12:07 > 0:12:13- The biggest issue - came with crossing a border.

0:12:13 > 0:12:18- On the border - between the Ukraine and Hungary...

0:12:18 > 0:12:25- ..I was stuck for three weeks - as the bureaucracy was a nightmare!

0:12:25 > 0:12:29- Megan is glad to be home - with her Welsh ponies...

0:12:30 > 0:12:33- ..but why did she take on - this challenge?

0:12:33 > 0:12:38- One of the reasons for doing it was - to raise money for Challenge Aid...

0:12:38 > 0:12:41- ..that builds schools in Kenya.

0:12:41 > 0:12:48- I'd always wanted to do - a long trek on horseback...

0:12:48 > 0:12:56- ..and always wanted to travel - around China and the Middle East.

0:13:00 > 0:13:05- It was being able to truly - experience other countries.

0:13:06 > 0:13:10- The scenery was beautiful...

0:13:10 > 0:13:16- ..but I met a lot of kind and - interesting people on the journey.

0:16:54 > 0:16:57- Everyone pulled together to create - a mural in memory of her.

0:17:13 > 0:17:18- Most recently, - she worked with the Year 2 pupils.

0:17:18 > 0:17:22- However, she was also in charge of - teaching art to the entire school.

0:17:29 > 0:17:34- A year last April, - we heard the sad news...

0:17:35 > 0:17:39- ..that she had lost her - very short battle with cancer.

0:17:39 > 0:17:46- It came as a massive blow - to the school.

0:17:50 > 0:17:57- After learning of her death, the - Southgate family knocked on my door.

0:17:57 > 0:18:04- They wanted to create a memorial - mural as Miss Janet enjoyed art.

0:18:04 > 0:18:09- We asked the pupils to come up - with words that described her...

0:18:10 > 0:18:14- ..and that was the basis of it.

0:18:15 > 0:18:20- It was an incredible project - and the children worked hard.

0:18:20 > 0:18:25- They wanted to remember Miss Janet - and understood the task.

0:18:25 > 0:18:29- They all know which part - of the mural is their own work.

0:18:41 > 0:18:46- ..because it brought back lots of - memories of working with Miss Janet.

0:18:46 > 0:18:49- My favourite part is the word - "brwdfrydedd" or enthusiasm.

0:18:50 > 0:18:57- Miss Janet was full of enthusiasm - and it encourages us to be the same.

0:20:50 > 0:20:55- I joined the Marines in 1972 - and I haven't lived in Wales since.

0:20:59 > 0:21:03- My cousin's daughter, Heti - was born deaf.

0:21:04 > 0:21:09- Therefore, I'm raising money for her - and Parcyrhun School in Ammanford.

0:21:14 > 0:21:18- We're going to be tracking - Malcolm's journey all around Wales.
