:00:08. > :00:14.We are live on Edinburgh's Princes Street as the capital city looks

:00:14. > :00:20.ahead to the end of 2012 and the start of a Brand New Year. Welcome

:00:20. > :00:25.to Scotland's hog many live in Edinburgh. She is looking beautiful

:00:25. > :00:31.tonight and has already got her party clothes on board one of the

:00:31. > :00:36.biggest New Year parties in the world. Just look at the crowds.

:00:36. > :00:40.Here and at midnight there will be 75,000 revellers on the streets

:00:40. > :00:45.welcoming in 2013. Edinburgh's started its celebrations yesterday

:00:45. > :00:49.with a fantastic torchlit procession through the city centre.

:00:49. > :00:55.If you are not leaving your fireside, you can sit back and

:00:55. > :01:00.enjoy the show as we bring the party to you. Coming up: A great

:01:00. > :01:04.collection of musicians led by Phil Cunningham and Aly Bain, as

:01:04. > :01:11.traditional as a black bun and a lump of coal, although I am not

:01:11. > :01:18.sure which is which! How do you fancy a massive, Scotland wide

:01:18. > :01:21.singalong of Auld Lang Syne. We will be getting everybody here and

:01:21. > :01:27.in Stirling and Inverness and hopefully you at home to join us

:01:27. > :01:34.after the bells. We will be bringing some of Scotland's

:01:34. > :01:38.celebrations to you. In a moment we will eavesdrop on Inverness and at

:01:38. > :01:43.11:30pm we will have an exclusive performance from the Proclaimers on

:01:43. > :01:47.the Esplanade at Stirling Castle. Let's go over there now to Catriona

:01:47. > :01:56.Shearer. A good evening and a very warm

:01:56. > :02:01.welcome to the atmosphere here. The atmosphere is building beautifully.

:02:01. > :02:06.You can see the band on stage tonight and they are warming the

:02:06. > :02:10.crowd up beautifully, despite the weather. The snow has not kept the

:02:10. > :02:15.crowds away and thousands of people are here and looking forward to

:02:15. > :02:20.bringing in the bells at Stirling Castle. It would not be a party

:02:21. > :02:26.without a good, hearty Scottish singalong. The masters of that are

:02:26. > :02:33.no other than the Proclaimers. They are headlining Stirling castle's

:02:33. > :02:37.celebrations this evening. I caught up with them for a chat. Charlie

:02:37. > :02:42.and Craig Reid, hello and happy Hogmanay. It is a big night tonight,

:02:42. > :02:48.not just because you are headlining the celebrations, but because it is

:02:48. > :02:51.the culmination of your UK tour. How has that been? It has been very

:02:51. > :02:56.good and the most successful we have ever had in terms of the

:02:56. > :03:02.people turning up and the consistency. Tonight it is Hogmanay

:03:02. > :03:05.and how do you feel about it? Excited. You get a bit of

:03:05. > :03:11.trepidation beforehand, but when she have done the sound check it is

:03:11. > :03:17.fine and I am looking forward to it. You have played some of the world's

:03:17. > :03:22.best venues. What is it going to be like playing here? The advantage it

:03:22. > :03:25.has over Edinburgh is you do not have stands on three sides.

:03:25. > :03:30.Although you are open to the elements, it is even more

:03:30. > :03:36.atmospheric. You could not get a better Esplanade on a castle, so a

:03:36. > :03:40.great place. What do you think about tonight? Hogmanay is not

:03:40. > :03:48.Hogmanay without a good, Scotty singalong acts which describes your

:03:48. > :03:53.best. How are you feeling? I feel pretty good. A lot of our material

:03:53. > :03:59.lends itself to people singing along to it. They all know the

:03:59. > :04:06.words. We will be happy for people to join in. How do you celebrate

:04:06. > :04:14.Hogmanay when you are not working? Not as big as I was when I was 16

:04:14. > :04:20.or 17. I mostly stay quiet. We try and not to work every year are.

:04:20. > :04:25.messages for her fans and family for 2013? All the best to everybody

:04:25. > :04:32.and I hope everybody has a great year when it comes. Good luck, we

:04:32. > :04:38.are looking forward to seeing you. It is going to be great. We will be

:04:38. > :04:42.showing you some of that set when we come back at 11:30pm. We also

:04:42. > :04:47.want to hear about what you are doing to celebrate the new year.

:04:47. > :04:51.Let us know on Twitter and Facebook. I wonder how they are celebrating

:04:52. > :04:57.in the Highland capital? Something tells me Craig Hill is already

:04:57. > :05:01.partying in Inverness. We are having the most fantastic year and

:05:01. > :05:06.the atmosphere is amazing and the audience are going mental. It is a

:05:06. > :05:11.wonderful place to come up for a new year. We have been going for

:05:11. > :05:15.three hours already and we are very lucky because it has not rained. We

:05:15. > :05:20.will be very excited to come back at 12 o'clock. We have had a

:05:20. > :05:25.practice of Auld Lang Syne and everybody sounds in fine fettle.

:05:25. > :05:29.The audience are amazing and it is a great atmosphere. Wherever you

:05:29. > :05:36.are, I hope you have a fantastic Hogmanay and we will be excited to

:05:36. > :05:41.be back with you in a while. They are in fine voice here in Edinburgh.

:05:41. > :05:47.More from Inverness and Stirling on the show. Do not miss it at 11:30pm,

:05:47. > :05:50.plus some of the best music you will hear. Overseeing everything in

:05:51. > :06:00.our studios in Glasgow is the Hogmanay legend that is Phil

:06:01. > :06:01.

:06:01. > :08:52.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 171 seconds

:08:52. > :08:57.A fantastic Phil Cunningham and Aly Bain and more from them later on

:08:57. > :09:02.this evening. There is such a sense of anticipation on Princes Street.

:09:02. > :09:07.We have got visitors from 55 countries from as far away as

:09:07. > :09:11.Brazil and New Zealand, all in the capital and all here to see how the

:09:11. > :09:15.Scots do Hogmanay. We will be bringing you one of the best

:09:15. > :09:21.firework displays in the world and we will be kicking that off with a

:09:21. > :09:26.lone piper. They are getting warm on the ramparts of Edinburgh Castle.

:09:26. > :09:31.We will be asking all of you at home to help us welcome in the New

:09:31. > :09:36.Year with that biggest singalong ever attempted, well, we think. All

:09:36. > :09:40.that plus an emotional look at the year gone by. I hope you join us

:09:40. > :09:46.later wherever you are, wherever you are from, with friends and

:09:46. > :09:52.family, or even if you are having a quiet end to the year, we hope you

:09:52. > :09:58.will let us entertain you all the way into 2013. Shall we take a

:09:58. > :10:04.little look at the crowds? Look at that. An estimated up to 80,000

:10:04. > :10:08.people here, as I said from all over the world. It is estimated

:10:08. > :10:13.about two-thirds of them have come from far flung countries and they

:10:13. > :10:19.are certainly ready for a party. We have had them dancing tonight and

:10:19. > :10:24.we had even had a couple of streakers who went down very well,

:10:24. > :10:29.and he learned a lot of points for bravery. They were moved along

:10:29. > :10:37.fairly hastily. All of that to come and we hope to bring you the real

:10:37. > :10:41.flavour of a Scottish Hogmanay. Coming up next, more classic

:10:41. > :10:47.Caledonia, and we hope you will come back to Edinburgh for
