0:02:13 > 0:02:14- How are you? - I'm very well, thank you.

0:02:14 > 0:02:16This is going to be very competitive, I think.

0:02:16 > 0:02:18I was just doing some totting up.

0:02:18 > 0:02:22You know, between the ten of us - us two and our eight contestants -

0:02:22 > 0:02:25eight of us have got Olympic gold medals.

0:02:25 > 0:02:28- LAUGHTER That is amazing.- Isn't that amazing?

0:02:28 > 0:02:31- Amazing.- If I just picked two people at random out of this ten -

0:02:51 > 0:02:54- It can only get better, surely. - You would hope so.

0:02:54 > 0:02:56You would think that Tanni Grey-Thompson

0:02:56 > 0:02:58was an upgrade on Linford, wouldn't you?

0:02:58 > 0:03:00- LAUGHTER - You would hope so.

0:03:00 > 0:03:03Although Linford will come back at some point with someone else

0:03:03 > 0:03:06and then we'll be able to see. Should be an absolute cracker.

0:03:06 > 0:03:09The first round, everyone here should -

0:03:09 > 0:03:11- should - be pretty good at. - Good luck with that.

0:03:11 > 0:03:13As usual, all of today's questions

0:03:13 > 0:03:15have been put to 100 people before the show.

0:03:15 > 0:03:16Our contestants are looking for

0:03:16 > 0:03:18those all-important pointless answers.

0:03:18 > 0:03:21These are answers that none of our 100 people gave.

0:03:21 > 0:03:23Find one of those and we'll add £250 to the jackpot.

0:03:23 > 0:03:26Now, as today's show is a celebrity special,

0:03:35 > 0:03:38Right, if everyone's ready, let's play Pointless.

0:03:38 > 0:03:41APPLAUSE

0:03:43 > 0:03:45This is the only rule you have to remember.

0:03:45 > 0:03:46It is this and nothing else.

0:03:46 > 0:03:48The pair with the highest score

0:03:48 > 0:03:50at the end of each round will be eliminated,

0:03:50 > 0:03:53so keep those scores as low as you can possibly make them.

0:03:53 > 0:03:54Very, very best of luck.

0:03:54 > 0:03:57Oh, and no conferring for the first two rounds.

0:03:57 > 0:04:00Our first category this evening is...

0:04:02 > 0:04:04There we go. The Olympic Games.

0:04:04 > 0:04:05- Surprise.- Can you decide in your pairs

0:04:05 > 0:04:08who's going to go first, who's going to go second?

0:04:08 > 0:04:10And whoever's going first, please step up to the podium.

0:04:14 > 0:04:16OK, let's find out what the question is. Here it comes.

0:04:16 > 0:04:21We gave 100 people 100 seconds to name as many...

0:04:27 > 0:04:32Olympic host cities that contain the letters G, O, L or D. Richard.

0:04:32 > 0:04:35Yeah, we're simply looking for any official city

0:04:35 > 0:04:37which has hosted a Summer or Winter Olympic Games -

0:04:37 > 0:04:39this is before Rio in 2016 -

0:04:39 > 0:04:42that contain one of those letters and its name, please.

0:04:49 > 0:04:52You, as of last year, are now president of UK Athletics.

0:04:52 > 0:04:55- I am indeed. - That's a huge honour, isn't it?- Yes.

0:04:55 > 0:04:58What does that involve from you? What do you do?

0:04:58 > 0:05:01Well, I'm pretty much an ambassador for our sport

0:05:01 > 0:05:02in the UK and internationally.

0:05:02 > 0:05:07So, a very prestigious role to be elected to take on.

0:05:07 > 0:05:11Wonderful. Also, I want to ask about this two-man bobsleigh thing.

0:05:11 > 0:05:14Yeah, that's actually probably one of the best experiences of my life.

0:05:14 > 0:05:16Yeah, when I retired, we got together -

0:05:16 > 0:05:20four guys from different sports with no experience of bobsleigh -

0:05:20 > 0:05:22and seen if we can be competitive.

0:05:22 > 0:05:24I paired with actually one of my team-mates,

0:05:24 > 0:05:26Dean Macey from athletics,

0:05:26 > 0:05:29and we were a formidable team who were very competitive

0:05:29 > 0:05:32and, in fact, we were offered a chance to go on a European tour,

0:05:32 > 0:05:34but I don't think my body would be able to take

0:05:34 > 0:05:37- another gruelling Olympic campaign. - Quite. Yeah. There we are.

0:05:37 > 0:05:40OK, now, Jason, slightly tough going first, always.

0:05:40 > 0:05:43Just a little bit less time than everyone else to think,

0:05:43 > 0:05:47- but what would you like to go for, Jason?- L - Los Angeles.

0:05:47 > 0:05:50Los Angeles, says Jason. Los Angeles.

0:06:06 > 0:06:08Yeah, held the Summer Olympics twice, Los Angeles.

0:06:08 > 0:06:10And that's got an L at the beginning of its name

0:06:10 > 0:06:14and it's also got an O in it and it's got a G in it.

0:06:14 > 0:06:16- It doesn't have a D. - If anything, overqualified, I'd say.

0:06:16 > 0:06:19- Yeah, it's got an awful lot of those letters in it.- Fabulous.

0:06:19 > 0:06:20Thank you very much.

0:06:20 > 0:06:23Mary, a very warm welcome back to Pointless.

0:06:23 > 0:06:26Munich '72 was the year of your gold.

0:06:26 > 0:06:30As a pentathlete, I always wonder, do you have one of the disciplines

0:06:30 > 0:06:33- that you like a little bit less than the others?- Oh, yes.

0:06:33 > 0:06:36My long jump was weaker than the other four events.

0:06:36 > 0:06:40- And you always just sort of hoped for that one to be behind you?- Yes.

0:06:40 > 0:06:43Oh, dear. And last time you were here, we discussed the...

0:06:43 > 0:06:45You have so many honours now in Belfast.

0:06:45 > 0:06:49You have a stadium named after you at Queen's University.

0:06:49 > 0:06:51You're Lord Lieutenant of Belfast.

0:06:51 > 0:06:54You have the Freedom of Belfast. What else are they going to confer?

0:06:54 > 0:06:57How's that bridge - the Mary Peters Bridge -

0:06:57 > 0:06:59coming on, I wonder? LAUGHTER

0:06:59 > 0:07:01I was honoured with the Companion of Honour

0:07:01 > 0:07:03in last year's New Year's Honours list, as well,

0:07:03 > 0:07:07- which was wonderful.- Oh, wonderful. Mary, what would you like to go for?

0:07:07 > 0:07:12I'd like to go for O, as well, and I'd like to choose Tokyo, 1964.

0:07:12 > 0:07:17Tokyo, says Mary. Let's see how many of our 100 people went for Tokyo.

0:07:22 > 0:07:25Good answer. Look at that. APPLAUSE

0:07:34 > 0:07:37There we are. Thank you, Richard.

0:07:37 > 0:07:42So, Sally, Barcelona '92 hurdles.

0:07:42 > 0:07:44I mean, what on earth must that be like?

0:07:44 > 0:07:46SHE LAUGHS Does life ever,

0:07:46 > 0:07:49- ever feel the same after that? - Um, your life changes

0:07:49 > 0:07:54overnight completely and nobody can, you know, get you prepared for that.

0:07:54 > 0:07:57- No.- So, it is amazing. And I always wish I had a little box

0:07:57 > 0:08:00that I could have put that whole situation in

0:08:00 > 0:08:03cos you're just, you know, going around with this biggest grin

0:08:03 > 0:08:05and you can't really take it all in,

0:08:05 > 0:08:07so I always wanted a little box that I could take it in

0:08:07 > 0:08:09and share it with or look at later, really.

0:08:09 > 0:08:12- That whole experience was amazing. - I mean, do you remember?

0:08:12 > 0:08:14You're capable of remembering that spirit of things?

0:08:14 > 0:08:17You do, but I think, as you get older and the time,

0:08:17 > 0:08:20you remember things from the video or you remember things

0:08:20 > 0:08:23from what you've seen in pictures rather than...

0:08:23 > 0:08:25Sometimes, you've just got to take yourself back

0:08:25 > 0:08:26and think about the little things

0:08:26 > 0:08:29that you haven't thought about, which are nice.

0:08:29 > 0:08:31Incredible. Now, Sally, what would you like to go for?

0:08:31 > 0:08:36OK, I'm going to go for O as well, and I'm going to go for Stockholm.

0:08:36 > 0:08:38Stockholm, says Sally.

0:08:55 > 0:08:58Fantastic scoring there on podium three.

0:08:58 > 0:09:01That's a great answer, Sally. Over 100 years ago - 1912, Stockholm.

0:09:01 > 0:09:04And it's got an L in it, as well. It's got an O and an L.

0:09:04 > 0:09:06- Get out of town! - It's not bad, is it?- No.

0:09:06 > 0:09:09I'm going to have a look through and see if anything's got all four.

0:09:13 > 0:09:16- Tessa, welcome back.- Thank you.

0:09:16 > 0:09:19Now, then, 1984 Los Angeles was your time.

0:09:19 > 0:09:22Now, I was looking up, you seem to have every kind of honour going.

0:09:22 > 0:09:26You have all the BEs. You have M, O, C.

0:09:26 > 0:09:30What happens when you get a cluster of those? Which is the most senior?

0:09:30 > 0:09:34- CBE.- CBE. Does that mean you then move the others to one side?

0:09:34 > 0:09:37There I was, thinking I was only 22 as well and done all of that.

0:09:37 > 0:09:41- What can I say?- What can you say? - Never mind. I'm much more older now.

0:09:41 > 0:09:43LAUGHTER All right. So, Tessa,

0:09:43 > 0:09:45what are you up to at the moment?

0:09:45 > 0:09:49I'm working on a fitness video to come out at the end of the year.

0:09:49 > 0:09:51- Is this your first fitness video? - Yes, it will be.

0:09:51 > 0:09:54Did somebody not beat a path to your door years ago and say,

0:09:54 > 0:09:57- "Make a fitness video"?- Well, see, I have been working quite hard

0:09:57 > 0:09:59- on more like a dance routine now...- Right.

0:09:59 > 0:10:02..you know, with Brazilian girls, so I hope that will make an impact.

0:10:05 > 0:10:07Looking forward to Rio.

0:10:09 > 0:10:12- So, it's all good. - Very good. Congratulations.

0:10:12 > 0:10:14Now, Tessa, what would you like to go for?

0:10:14 > 0:10:17Well, so many have gone for a lot of the things I would have said,

0:10:17 > 0:10:20especially Jason who went for LA.

0:10:20 > 0:10:23- Um...- Sorry.- ..I will go for my first Olympics,

0:11:03 > 0:11:05I mean, you're not way out in front, but, Marlon,

0:11:05 > 0:11:08we need a low-scoring answer from you to keep you in the game.

0:11:08 > 0:11:11Very, very best of luck with that. We'll come back down the line now.

0:11:11 > 0:11:13Can the second players please step up to the podium?

0:11:43 > 0:11:46- What's the climate like in Rio? - To be honest, I try to follow it,

0:11:46 > 0:11:47- but it's all over the shop. - Oh, is it?

0:11:47 > 0:11:50Sometimes, it's raining, there's thunderstorms,

0:11:50 > 0:11:52- but I'm hoping it's just going to be high 30s, sun's out.- OK.

0:11:52 > 0:11:55That's not going to be too much of a challenge?

0:11:55 > 0:11:58- No, no, no. Definitely not. - OK, very good.

0:11:58 > 0:12:00Now, Aled, 19 is your score.

0:13:06 > 0:13:08I mean, it's slightly quirky and a bit strange

0:13:08 > 0:13:12and we have very strange rules, but people listen to what you say -

0:13:12 > 0:13:14mostly, they listen to what we say -

0:13:14 > 0:13:17so it's actually an incredibly interesting

0:13:17 > 0:13:19and fascinating place to be.

0:13:19 > 0:13:21You've thrown yourself into public life.

0:13:21 > 0:13:24A whole, you know, wonderful new career for you there.

0:13:24 > 0:13:26Oh, it's a fantastic opportunity and, you know,

0:13:26 > 0:13:30I actually went to the Lords to do all the legislation

0:13:30 > 0:13:32that sort of revolved around 2012,

0:13:32 > 0:13:35like Sunday trading and road closures and all that cool stuff,

0:13:35 > 0:13:38and then have sort of ended up doing other things, as well.

0:13:38 > 0:13:41Fantastic. Well, many congratulations.

0:13:41 > 0:13:4436 is our high score at the moment. There you are on 3.

0:13:44 > 0:13:4832 or less guarantees you a place in Round Two.

0:13:48 > 0:13:51- I'm going to go for Rome.- Rome.

0:13:51 > 0:13:54Rome, says Tanni. Here is your red line.

0:13:54 > 0:13:57If you can get below that red line with Rome,

0:13:57 > 0:13:58you are through to the next round.

0:13:58 > 0:14:01How many of our 100 people said Rome?

0:14:04 > 0:14:05It's right.

0:14:08 > 0:14:10You're through. Very well done indeed.

0:14:10 > 0:14:12- 17.- Hey! Well done.

0:14:12 > 0:14:1520, your total. APPLAUSE

0:14:16 > 0:14:18Great answer, Tanni. That's from 1960.

0:14:18 > 0:14:22They were originally, Rome, due to have the Olympics in 1908

0:14:22 > 0:14:25- and it had to be moved. Do you know why it had to be moved?- No.

0:14:25 > 0:14:27Cos Mount Vesuvius erupted.

0:14:27 > 0:14:31- Wow.- How about that? - How about that?- Yeah.- Poor Rome.

0:14:31 > 0:14:34Yeah, it's all right. I think it survived.

0:14:34 > 0:14:36LAUGHTER Thank you, Richard.

0:14:36 > 0:14:39Now, David, very, very warm welcome to Pointless.

0:14:39 > 0:14:43Montreal '76 was your year of glory.

0:14:43 > 0:14:47You were the first swimmer to swim in a swimming cap and goggles.

0:14:47 > 0:14:51I was, and the reason for the cap was because I had rather long hair,

0:14:51 > 0:14:54being a bit of a rebel at university in Miami.

0:14:54 > 0:14:56So, the cap sort of streamlined me.

0:14:56 > 0:15:01And goggles, I wore those way back in 1970 at the Commonwealth Games

0:15:01 > 0:15:03because I hated the chlorine in my eyes.

0:15:03 > 0:15:06You know, you'd come out of a training session,

0:15:06 > 0:15:09your eyes would be streaming because of the chlorine reaction.

0:15:09 > 0:15:11So, I used to have this old sort of swimming mask,

0:15:11 > 0:15:13you know, that I used to wear.

0:15:13 > 0:15:16My coaches said, "David, you know, you're taking the mickey

0:15:16 > 0:15:18"wearing that in training. That's all you've got?"

0:15:18 > 0:15:21And they got smaller and smaller and now they all wear them, so...

0:15:21 > 0:15:24They also, I noticed, they shave all their hair off.

0:15:24 > 0:15:25Did it ever occur to you?

0:15:25 > 0:15:27- Cos you swam in full moustache. - Yeah.

0:15:27 > 0:15:29- LAUGHTER - I mean, Mark Smith started that,

0:15:29 > 0:15:31but I didn't take that after him.

0:15:31 > 0:15:34No, we shaved every single part of our body

0:15:34 > 0:15:36apart from what was under our swimming trunks,

0:15:36 > 0:15:38but that just made you go a little bit faster.

0:15:38 > 0:15:40Do you ever think maybe if you'd shaved off here,

0:15:40 > 0:15:42you might have shaved off a few seconds, as well?

0:15:42 > 0:15:44I don't think so. It's not that thick.

0:15:44 > 0:15:46And I swam breaststroke, so my head was above the water.

0:15:46 > 0:15:49- There we are.- Yeah. - It's lovely to have you here, David.

0:15:49 > 0:15:51- Thank you.- There you are on 24.

0:15:51 > 0:15:54The high score is still Aled and Tessa at this stage on 36.

0:15:54 > 0:15:57- 11 or less is what we require from you.- OK.

0:15:57 > 0:15:59I'll go for Sochi.

0:15:59 > 0:16:01Sochi. Sochi, says David.

0:16:01 > 0:16:04Here is your red line. If you can get

0:16:04 > 0:16:05below that with Sochi,

0:16:05 > 0:16:07you are through to the next round.

0:16:10 > 0:16:12- It's right.- It's right.

0:16:14 > 0:16:16It's low.

0:16:16 > 0:16:17You've done it. Look at that.

0:16:17 > 0:16:19Very well done indeed. 9 is what you got.

0:16:19 > 0:16:21APPLAUSE 11 was what you needed.

0:16:21 > 0:16:22Up to 33, you go.

0:16:24 > 0:16:26Yeah, 2014. That still only scored 9 points. Amazing.

0:16:26 > 0:16:30- Extraordinary.- Sochi in Russia. - Thank you, Richard.

0:16:30 > 0:16:35Marlon. Marlon, a very, very warm welcome to Pointless for you.

0:16:35 > 0:16:37Now, tell me, in the relay, I always imagine

0:16:37 > 0:16:39that's kind of double the pressure for relay running

0:16:39 > 0:16:41cos it's kind of a...

0:16:41 > 0:16:43It's an individual sport and a team sport,

0:16:43 > 0:16:46so you have sort of the pressure of all your other runners

0:16:46 > 0:16:49as well as the pressure you put on yourself. Is that...?

0:16:49 > 0:16:52- Well, actually, it's actually the opposite.- Really?

0:16:52 > 0:16:55You get to share the stress between the four of you.

0:16:55 > 0:16:57So, you go through the different call rooms,

0:16:57 > 0:16:59then you go through the warm up area,

0:16:59 > 0:17:01then you go through to the stage area

0:17:01 > 0:17:02and you can share the stress together,

0:17:02 > 0:17:04- so it's not that bad at all. - All right.

0:17:04 > 0:17:06So, it's a bit like us doing a double act.

0:17:06 > 0:17:09Oh, yeah. Very similar. Except we endlessly drop the baton.

0:17:09 > 0:17:11- I do, don't I?- Yeah.- I do. LAUGHTER

0:17:11 > 0:17:14Um, Marlon, also, you've been coaching sprinting

0:17:14 > 0:17:17- at Gloucester rugby team. - Yes, I am.- How has that been?

0:17:17 > 0:17:20It's absolutely amazing. Really enjoying my time out there.

0:17:20 > 0:17:23- It's a different capacity, obviously, with athletics.- Yeah.

0:17:23 > 0:17:25So, working with the boys is exciting

0:17:25 > 0:17:29- and the guys are doing really well. - Any of them getting close to you?

0:17:29 > 0:17:32- Um...- No.- I'm a lot older now than I used to be, so...

0:17:32 > 0:17:35- LAUGHTER - Not quite. Nearly.

0:17:35 > 0:17:39- OK, now, you have a job on your hands here, Marlon.- I know.

0:17:39 > 0:17:42You know what we need from you. It's a score of 3 or less.

0:17:42 > 0:17:44- 3 or less.- Come on, Marlon.

0:17:44 > 0:17:49- Oh, good luck.- 3 or less? - LAUGHTER

0:17:49 > 0:17:53I'm going to take a slight guess and say Berlin.

0:17:53 > 0:17:56Berlin, says Marlon. Here is your red line.

0:17:56 > 0:17:59If you get below that with Berlin, you are through to Round Two.

0:17:59 > 0:18:02Let's see how many of our 100 people said Berlin.

0:18:05 > 0:18:06It's right.

0:18:09 > 0:18:11Still going down. Still...

0:18:11 > 0:18:13Oh, no. 18, Marlon. APPLAUSE

0:18:13 > 0:18:17It was a good guess. Very gutsy move.

0:18:17 > 0:18:20- Takes your total up to 50. - Unlucky, Marlon.

0:18:20 > 0:18:21Yeah, held the 1936 Olympics.

0:18:21 > 0:18:23See, they were due to hold the 1916 Olympics,

0:18:23 > 0:18:26and that got cancelled. Can you guess why that was?

0:18:26 > 0:18:28- Was it cos of war? - It was cos of the war. Exactly that.

0:18:28 > 0:18:31- It only just got through in '36. - Yeah, didn't it just?- Yeah.

0:18:31 > 0:18:34Now, the answers you could have given that would have got 3 or less.

0:18:34 > 0:18:36Mexico City would have got you 3. Helsinki - 3.

0:18:36 > 0:18:39A couple of Winter Olympics cities would have got you 2 -

0:18:39 > 0:18:41Sarajevo and Calgary. Amsterdam and St Louis

0:18:41 > 0:18:44were the lowest-scoring Summer Olympic cities.

0:18:44 > 0:18:45Both would have scored you 1.

0:18:45 > 0:18:47Sapporo also would have scored you 1.

0:18:47 > 0:18:50Here's the pointless answers. They're all Winter Olympic venues...

0:18:54 > 0:18:57Lake Placid was a pointless answer. Quite a recent one, that.

0:18:57 > 0:19:00Nagano. Squaw Valley. There's two more...

0:19:02 > 0:19:03Very well done if you got one of those.

0:19:03 > 0:19:05Let's take a look at the top three answers,

0:19:05 > 0:19:07the ones that most of our 100 people said...

0:19:10 > 0:19:13Los Angeles is the second biggest scorer of all with 32.

0:19:13 > 0:19:16- And London, unsurprisingly, up the top with 88.- There we are.

0:19:16 > 0:19:19Thanks very much, Richard. At the end of our first round,

0:19:19 > 0:19:22the pair we have to say goodbye to with their high score of 50...

0:19:22 > 0:19:25It's not that high a score. It's just higher than everyone else.

0:19:25 > 0:19:28But Marlon and Jason, I'm afraid it's you.

0:19:28 > 0:19:30It's been brilliant having you here.

0:19:30 > 0:19:32Sorry to send you home far too soon, but tremendous play.

0:19:32 > 0:19:34Marlon and Jason.

0:19:36 > 0:19:38Never mind. Thanks very much.

0:19:38 > 0:19:41But for the remaining three pairs, it's now time for Round Two.

0:19:45 > 0:19:46And so we're down to three pairs.

0:19:46 > 0:19:48At the end of this round, we'll have to say goodbye

0:19:48 > 0:19:52to another of our Olympian pairs in time for our head-to-head round.

0:19:52 > 0:19:55- Well, very well done. Sally... - I'm still here.- ..hats off to you.

0:19:55 > 0:19:57- We made it.- Not just still here. Lowest score of the round.

0:19:57 > 0:19:59- I know.- 3 - Stockholm.

0:19:59 > 0:20:02But well done to all three pairs and best of luck for this round.

0:20:02 > 0:20:05Our category for it is...

0:20:07 > 0:20:09Natural History. Can you all decide in your pairs

0:20:09 > 0:20:11who's going to go first, who's going to go second?

0:20:11 > 0:20:14And whoever's going first, please step up to the podium.

0:20:18 > 0:20:22OK, and our question concerns...

0:20:24 > 0:20:26Famous Animals. Famous Animals?

0:20:26 > 0:20:30Yes, I don't know if that is natural history, is it? Or it's celebrity?

0:20:30 > 0:20:32- Or a bit of both? - Yeah, a bit of each.

0:20:32 > 0:20:35On each board, we're going to describe six famous animals.

0:20:35 > 0:20:37You need to tell us what type of animal they are, please.

0:20:37 > 0:20:39We're going to give you the initials, as well.

0:20:39 > 0:20:41So, just what types of animal are they?

0:20:41 > 0:20:44There'll be 12 in all to have a go at at home, so very best of luck.

0:20:44 > 0:20:47OK, so, what types of animals are these?

0:21:20 > 0:21:22I'm going to read all those again quickly.

0:21:50 > 0:21:52Mary.

0:21:52 > 0:21:57I'm going to go with Keiko and okra.

0:21:57 > 0:22:00Okra. OK, let's see if that's right.

0:22:00 > 0:22:03Let's see how many of our 100 people said okra.

0:22:06 > 0:22:08- Oh!- Oh, no, Mary.

0:22:08 > 0:22:11- I'm so sorry. I'm afraid not okra.- Oh.

0:22:11 > 0:22:15- That scores you 100 points. - Yeah, sorry, not okra.

0:22:15 > 0:22:18- Okra is a vegetable. - LAUGHTER

0:22:18 > 0:22:19- Ladies' fingers.- A delicious one.

0:22:19 > 0:22:22And if you were offered it free, you'd take it,

0:22:22 > 0:22:24but not the star of Free Willy.

0:22:24 > 0:22:27- Sally?- Um, I'm going to go

0:22:27 > 0:22:31with the last one and Jane Goodall,

0:22:31 > 0:22:33and I think

0:22:33 > 0:22:35- it's a chimpanzee. - Chimpanzee, says Sally.

0:22:35 > 0:22:37Let's see if chimpanzee is right.

0:22:37 > 0:22:39Let's see how many of our 100 people said it.

0:22:41 > 0:22:42It is right.

0:22:45 > 0:22:4753 for chimpanzee. APPLAUSE

0:22:50 > 0:22:52Well played, Sally. Yeah, David Greybeard.

0:22:52 > 0:22:53He would strip twigs

0:22:53 > 0:22:54and use them as, like, sort of

0:22:54 > 0:22:57fishing spikes in termite nests.

0:22:57 > 0:22:58Clever.

0:22:58 > 0:23:02Aled, this board is all yours. Do you want to talk us through it?

0:23:02 > 0:23:05Um, well, I was going to go for orca,

0:23:05 > 0:23:07but I think I'm going to go for the...

0:23:07 > 0:23:09Is it panda? Xiang Xiang?

0:23:09 > 0:23:11- OK, you're going to say panda.- Yeah.

0:23:11 > 0:23:15OK, let's see how many of our 100 people said panda.

0:23:18 > 0:23:19It's right.

0:23:19 > 0:23:22Ooh-hee-hee! Look at that. 84. APPLAUSE

0:23:22 > 0:23:25That brings Mary and David rather more into the game there.

0:23:25 > 0:23:27But 84 - quite a high score.

0:23:27 > 0:23:29Yeah, and the other one you were going to go for -

0:23:29 > 0:23:31it's not okra, it is orca -

0:23:31 > 0:23:34- and actually would have been a much better scorer.- Yeah.

0:23:34 > 0:23:38You would have got 58 points for orca. There it is.

0:23:38 > 0:23:41- The Tamworth Two... - Pigs.- ..were pigs.

0:23:42 > 0:23:44- 78. Punxsutawney Phil...- Groundhog.

0:23:44 > 0:23:47..is the groundhog from Groundhog Day.

0:23:47 > 0:23:4838 points for that.

0:23:48 > 0:23:51You can probably hazard a guess at this one - Huberta.

0:23:51 > 0:23:54- Hyena?- It's not a hyena.

0:23:54 > 0:23:57- It's not a horse?- It's not a horse, actually.- Oh, Huberta the horse!

0:23:57 > 0:23:59It is quite hard to...

0:23:59 > 0:24:02Well, it's going to be something alliterative anyway, isn't I?

0:24:02 > 0:24:04- Cos it begins with H.- A hippo? It's not a hippo.- It's a hippo.

0:24:04 > 0:24:08- No, it's not!- Yeah, it is a hippo. 14 points.- Thanks very much indeed.

0:24:08 > 0:24:10OK, well, we're halfway through the round,

0:24:10 > 0:24:12so let's take a look at those scores.

0:24:12 > 0:24:13Quite high-scoring, that round.

0:24:13 > 0:24:16Sally, 53, you got,

0:24:16 > 0:24:17but that's our low score, so, well done.

0:24:17 > 0:24:19Once again, Sally and Tanni

0:24:19 > 0:24:21looking very strong. Up to 84, where we find Aled and Tessa.

0:24:21 > 0:24:24And then, not that far ahead, we find Mary and David.

0:24:24 > 0:24:27Now, David, you're the high-scorers, but not by too much,

0:24:27 > 0:24:29so a low score from you could easily keep you in the game.

0:24:29 > 0:24:31Best of luck. We'll come back down the line now.

0:24:31 > 0:24:33Can the second players please step up to the podium?

0:24:37 > 0:24:39OK. We're going to put six more clues to Famous Animals

0:24:39 > 0:24:41up on the board.

0:24:41 > 0:24:43And here they are. We have got...

0:25:42 > 0:25:46Now, Tessa, to avoid becoming the new high-scorers,

0:25:46 > 0:25:48you will be wanting to score 15 or less.

0:25:48 > 0:25:51SHE LAUGHS That's asking a lot, I think.

0:25:51 > 0:25:55Erm, I think there's only one I think I know on there

0:25:55 > 0:25:57and I'm not sure if it's right.

0:25:57 > 0:25:59I'm going to go for Mr Magoo.

0:25:59 > 0:26:02Monkey.

0:26:02 > 0:26:04Mr Magoo, monkey. Surely monkey.

0:26:04 > 0:26:06Mr Magoo monkey. Let's find out if it's right.

0:26:06 > 0:26:08There is your red line.

0:26:08 > 0:26:10If you get below that, you are definitely in the next round.

0:26:10 > 0:26:13Let's see how many of our people said monkey.

0:26:15 > 0:26:17- Oh!- Oh, no.

0:26:18 > 0:26:20Not monkey, Tessa.

0:26:20 > 0:26:22Oh, that brings David and Mary

0:26:22 > 0:26:23very much back into the game there.

0:26:23 > 0:26:25184 is your total.

0:26:25 > 0:26:28- Yeah, not monkey. A good name for a monkey, though.- Oh, isn't it?

0:26:28 > 0:26:32- Mr Magoo the monkey.- Yeah.- I don't think you'd get a pardon, do you?

0:26:32 > 0:26:35- I think it'd be a bit too naughty. - Oh, yes.- Don't you think?

0:26:35 > 0:26:37- A bit cheeky.- A bit cheeky.

0:26:37 > 0:26:39- Tanni, you're through.- OK.

0:26:39 > 0:26:42- Even if you score 100 points you are still in the head-to-head.- Oh.

0:26:42 > 0:26:46- Oh, that's nice.- So that takes a bit of the pressure off.- Relax.

0:26:46 > 0:26:47Erm, oh...

0:26:47 > 0:26:49I'm going to go for Elsa

0:26:49 > 0:26:50who was orphaned

0:26:50 > 0:26:52and the subject of the book.

0:26:52 > 0:26:55- So it's lionise. - Elsa was a lioness, says Tanni.

0:26:55 > 0:26:57No red line for you because you're already through.

0:38:53 > 0:38:56If these things have got lyrics and stuff, I'm good, but that's...

0:38:56 > 0:39:01That first one, is there not a little motif in E.T.

0:39:01 > 0:39:03that sounds a bit like the motif from Star Wars?

0:39:03 > 0:39:06Do you know, there are sort of slightly Superman-y, E.T.ish,

0:39:06 > 0:39:09Star Wars-y crossover. Just little bits with John Williams.

0:39:09 > 0:39:12- He's ripping himself off so that's OK, right?- Well, exactly.
