0:00:03 > 0:00:06Hello. I'm TV's Robert Webb,
0:00:06 > 0:00:09actor, writer and a highly accomplished dancer.
0:00:09 > 0:00:13This is just one of pop's greatest dance crazes.
0:00:23 > 0:00:25- Whoo!- Girl power!
0:00:25 > 0:00:26They were just huge.
0:00:26 > 0:00:28They were like a force.
0:00:28 > 0:00:32# When you're feeling sad and low... #
0:00:32 > 0:00:35Five young, loud, in-your-face girls,
0:00:35 > 0:00:39thinking they were going to change the world and, at one time,
0:00:39 > 0:00:42they did change the world and the world was at their feet.
0:00:42 > 0:00:47A lot of people were copying just the way they acted and little girls
0:00:47 > 0:00:51wanted to be Sporty or little girls wanted to be Baby Spice.
0:00:52 > 0:00:54# Slam it to the left if you're having a good time... #
0:00:54 > 0:00:59A generation of young girls spiced up their lives and learnt some new funky new dance moves.
0:00:59 > 0:01:02It was important for us when we were doing our choreography.
0:01:02 > 0:01:06We wanted to keep the dance routines quite simple because we wanted people
0:01:06 > 0:01:11to be able to copy them and to do them along with us at home and stuff.
0:01:11 > 0:01:15First of all, some classic Spice Girl moves. One, two, cha-cha-cha.
0:01:15 > 0:01:18Two, two, cha-cha-cha. OK, got that?
0:01:18 > 0:01:21Then you can add the arms. You can freestyle a little bit.
0:01:21 > 0:01:23Cha-cha-cha.
0:01:23 > 0:01:25And then let's add the song.
0:01:25 > 0:01:27Are you ready?
0:01:27 > 0:01:31# La-la-la-la-la
0:01:31 > 0:01:34# La-la-la-la. #
0:01:34 > 0:01:35A little bit like that.
0:01:35 > 0:01:38# Spice Up Your Life, ahhhh
0:01:38 > 0:01:41# Slam it to the left if you're having a good time... #
0:01:41 > 0:01:43Slam it to the left and shake it to the right.
0:01:43 > 0:01:46I was shaking it everywhere from Europe to New York.
0:01:46 > 0:01:47You couldn't stop me.
0:01:47 > 0:01:49# Yo, I'll tell you what I want what I really, really want... #
0:01:49 > 0:01:54Each Spice Girl had her own unique persona, which gave them highly individual dancing styles.
0:01:54 > 0:01:57Who can forget Scary, Sporty and Arthritic?
0:02:00 > 0:02:05Loads of people think that we had our Spice names and we lived up to that.
0:02:05 > 0:02:07But what really happened was we kind of just presented ourselves
0:02:07 > 0:02:10as the individuals that we were,
0:02:10 > 0:02:14and we were named by Top Of the Pops magazine and those names just stuck.
0:02:14 > 0:02:18# Make it last forever Friendship never ends... #
0:02:18 > 0:02:20With those characters that they created,
0:02:20 > 0:02:24came their own specific dance. That was really clever.
0:02:26 > 0:02:29Victoria's, of course, is the point and pout.
0:02:29 > 0:02:32Posh Spice would always do stuff like that, look away.
0:02:32 > 0:02:36Victoria Beckham was famous for not really dancing at all.
0:02:36 > 0:02:37She would just sort of point at things.
0:02:37 > 0:02:41Presumably at things that she would later get David Beckham to buy her.
0:02:42 > 0:02:44Scary Spice was all just Aargh!
0:02:44 > 0:02:48- Very animalistic.- She growled. She always screamed at the camera.
0:02:48 > 0:02:50She did the high kicks and stuff like that.
0:02:50 > 0:02:54Emma had lots of very cutesy, maybe little shushes.
0:02:54 > 0:02:56Emma was a good dancer.
0:02:56 > 0:02:58She really knew how to get down.
0:02:58 > 0:03:01Geri's, of course, is the peace sign which we all adopted.
0:03:01 > 0:03:06Geri had no rhythm. Couldn't put one foot in front of the other.
0:03:07 > 0:03:09It was a little bit unfair really,
0:03:10 > 0:03:13because four of us girls had had dance training and Geri hadn't,
0:03:13 > 0:03:16so we used to do a bit of extra rehearsing, myself and Geri.
0:03:19 > 0:03:20Sporty Spice's signature moves.
0:03:20 > 0:03:24Well, of course, who can forget the backflip
0:03:24 > 0:03:26performed a few times on tables.
0:03:26 > 0:03:28Wide stance. Point up the sky.
0:03:28 > 0:03:31That was a bit of Sporty.
0:03:31 > 0:03:33A punch, that was a bit Sporty.
0:03:33 > 0:03:36And then a signature kick.
0:03:36 > 0:03:38Yah! I still got it!
0:03:41 > 0:03:44We worked with some of the world's best choreographers,
0:03:44 > 0:03:48and we have always had these really difficult routines
0:03:48 > 0:03:49but we just make them easier.
0:03:49 > 0:03:53We learn them and go, "Can we just make it a bit easier?"
0:03:53 > 0:03:57You can't sing and do all that. That's why everyone mimes.
