0:01:55 > 0:02:01- First, tell us what happened to you - a few years ago.

0:02:06 > 0:02:12- I had a breakdown - about 18 months ago.

0:02:15 > 0:02:20- I wouldn't have been able - to sit here 18 months ago.

0:02:20 > 0:02:26- The breakdown was caused by - over-working...

0:02:26 > 0:02:32- ..the pressures of work and - I believed that I could do anything.

0:02:34 > 0:02:39- I wanted to do more and more.

0:02:39 > 0:02:44- There's only so much - that a person can do.

0:02:46 > 0:02:52- I wasn't listening - to my mind or body.

0:02:52 > 0:02:58- My mind and body - had enough and caved in.

0:03:00 > 0:03:05- I know the exact moment - of the breakdown.

0:03:06 > 0:03:10- It was a Sunday at 10.15am.

0:03:15 > 0:03:19- I was in the shower at the time.

0:03:20 > 0:03:23- It was quite terrifying.

0:03:27 > 0:03:29- My whole body shut down.

0:03:30 > 0:03:33- I couldn't speak to anyone.

0:03:41 > 0:03:45- This is a massive thing.

0:03:48 > 0:03:52- How long did it take you - to work through it?

0:03:52 > 0:03:57- Three years ago, if I'd been told - that I would have a breakdown...

0:03:59 > 0:04:02- ..then I would have laughed!

0:04:04 > 0:04:07- This breakdown changed my life.

0:04:11 > 0:04:16- I'm still in the process - of recovery.

0:04:22 > 0:04:27- A year later, - I started to feel a bit better.

0:04:30 > 0:04:33- Looking back, were there any signs?

0:04:37 > 0:04:43- It's easy to look back and - spot the signs of the breakdown.

0:04:43 > 0:04:48- It could have started months - or even years ago.

0:04:48 > 0:04:53- There were some warning signs - to the breakdown.

0:04:56 > 0:05:02- Before the breakdown, I was - very lethargic and always tired.

0:05:06 > 0:05:12- Did you get any support - in the workplace?

0:05:13 > 0:05:17- That's a difficult question - to answer.

0:05:20 > 0:05:25- A lot of people - don't understand this illness.

0:05:25 > 0:05:29- I didn't understand it either.

0:05:31 > 0:05:34- After the breakdown...

0:05:36 > 0:05:41- ..I'm on a course of medication - and have been on talking therapy.

0:05:42 > 0:05:47- The talking therapy is all about - talking about your feelings...

0:05:47 > 0:05:52- ..and learning - new strategies in life.

0:05:56 > 0:06:02- A breakdown makes you lose - so much confidence.

0:06:03 > 0:06:08- Why should people speak out?

0:06:08 > 0:06:13- It's very important - to speak out about this.

0:06:13 > 0:06:19- I do my best to speak out - about it at all times.

0:06:19 > 0:06:24- I decided that I had to turn - this into something positive...

0:06:28 > 0:06:34- ..so I knew that - I had to speak out about it.

0:06:36 > 0:06:42- Some 66% of people in work claim to - suffer from mental health problems.

0:06:45 > 0:06:50- It's important - that you talk about it.

0:06:53 > 0:06:58- The workplace needs - to support that person.

0:07:08 > 0:07:14- If the symptoms had been spotted, - I might not have had my breakdown.

0:07:16 > 0:07:19- You offer support yourself now.

0:07:23 > 0:07:29- I go into workplaces - to speak about mental health issues.

0:07:32 > 0:07:38- People often mention stating - that they've been stressed.

0:07:40 > 0:07:46- It's their way of speaking out - about it.
