0:15:40 > 0:15:45- Thankfully, the weather is fine - for my first trip to Skomer.

0:15:45 > 0:15:50- I've lived in Pembrokeshire for 27 - years but have never been to Skomer.

0:15:52 > 0:15:57- Everything was in our favour - so we jumped aboard and set sail.

0:15:58 > 0:16:04- We decided to follow the island's - coastline and started in the east...

0:16:04 > 0:16:08- ..before heading south, west and - north on a round trip of four miles.

0:16:08 > 0:16:14- The first stop was - at the island's industrial ruins.

0:16:19 > 0:16:23- Lime and coal - was delivered into the bay.

0:16:23 > 0:16:27- They were transported - in large chunks.

0:16:27 > 0:16:32- A fire was started - inside the kiln...

0:16:32 > 0:16:36- ..and the heat helped the lime - to break down into powder.

0:17:53 > 0:17:58- The black-legged kittiwake is - a small gull that also nests here.
