0:15:01 > 0:15:06- I've never heard of it - so what exactly is it?

0:15:19 > 0:15:24- Not many people have heard - about this condition.

0:15:30 > 0:15:32- It can be incredibly painful.

0:16:19 > 0:16:24- ..there are problems - in the lining of the cervix...

0:17:38 > 0:17:44- It took 14 years for me to be - diagnosed with endometriosis.

0:17:52 > 0:17:56- There was a lack of information and - the problem remains the same today.

0:17:56 > 0:18:00- There are several symptoms - caused by endometriosis...

0:18:00 > 0:18:05- ..and the main one is pain which - many experience during a period.

0:18:05 > 0:18:10- But I experience it 24 hours a day.

0:18:10 > 0:18:15- I rely on medication - to function normally...

0:18:15 > 0:18:18- ..to hold down a job, - be a mother and partner.

0:18:18 > 0:18:23- I was given morphine for over a year - and it has a negative impact on me.

0:18:23 > 0:18:28- I don't recall my child's birthday - or moving home and I couldn't teach.

0:18:29 > 0:18:34- I've suffered from it for years, - but a specialist in Liverpool...

0:18:34 > 0:18:38- ..told me I was fortunate to - have conceived my two daughters.

0:18:38 > 0:18:43- I'm so grateful for them - and count my lucky stars.

0:18:47 > 0:18:52- On top of the pain it can affect - your mental and emotional state.

0:18:55 > 0:19:01- Sometimes, I find it difficult to - accept it as a chronic condition.

0:19:01 > 0:19:06- After five treatments in over three - years, it still hasn't got better.

0:19:08 > 0:19:11- Chronic fatigue is a problem.

0:19:12 > 0:19:17- You feel you've only had a hour of - sleep despite sleeping all night.

0:19:18 > 0:19:23- You can experience sharp pains - when going to the toilet.

0:19:26 > 0:19:31- It's a battle to complete - normal tasks such as hoovering.

0:19:32 > 0:19:37- When I'm ironing, I can't stand - for more than ten minutes.

0:19:38 > 0:19:44- I couldn't be a proper mother - when I was suffering greatly.

0:19:44 > 0:19:50- I couldn't have coped without - my mother and mother-in-law.
