0:12:23 > 0:12:28- Fortunately for me, I don't - remember much about that morning.

0:12:28 > 0:12:35- When I woke up, my partner saw that - one side of my face looked strange.

0:12:36 > 0:12:39- I didn't have full use - of my left hand...

0:12:39 > 0:12:43- ..and my left foot - also dragged when I walked.

0:12:43 > 0:12:47- She was quick to notice - that I'd had a stroke.

0:12:48 > 0:12:54- Thankfully, the ambulance arrived - before she even got off the phone.

0:12:54 > 0:12:59- I was admitted to the Heath Hospital - in Cardiff immediately.

0:12:59 > 0:13:04- That was the best thing - that could've happened to me.

0:13:04 > 0:13:08- It's vital to receive - immediate treatment for a stroke.

0:13:11 > 0:13:16- There was a new "clot-busting" drug - that they wanted to try out on me.

0:13:17 > 0:13:25- I could see an improvement daily - with a little therapy and training.

0:13:25 > 0:13:29- I'm grateful that I'm still able - to walk, run...

0:13:29 > 0:13:33- ..and play with my children - and grandchildren.

0:13:34 > 0:13:39- My left side is good - but I'm not completely better.

0:13:39 > 0:13:45- My memory isn't great...

0:13:45 > 0:13:49- ..but I'm not sure if the stroke - or my age is to blame!

0:13:49 > 0:13:53- If I were to look back at my life - as a book...

0:13:53 > 0:13:58- ..it's like someone has removed - a few of the pages.

0:13:58 > 0:14:02- I have trouble recalling memories - and recognising faces.

0:14:02 > 0:14:10- I'm also more short-tempered - and I don't have as much patience.

0:14:10 > 0:14:15- However, everything else is fine.

0:14:16 > 0:14:20- Every day is a bonus.

0:14:31 > 0:14:34- Thanks to Gwynfor - for sharing his experience with us.

0:14:34 > 0:14:39- Gwynfor and his family have raised - over 500 for stroke research...

0:18:43 > 0:18:55- You can avoid having a strong - by being sensible.

0:19:02 > 0:19:12- You should exercise, keep an eye on - your weight and stop smoking.
