0:09:34 > 0:09:38- She influenced the children in - many ways, not just by teaching art.

0:09:39 > 0:09:43- Last April, we heard the sad news...

0:09:44 > 0:09:48- ..that she had lost her - very short fight with cancer...

0:09:48 > 0:09:54- ..and the school was deeply shocked.

0:09:54 > 0:10:01- After learning of her death, the - Southgate family knocked on my door.

0:10:01 > 0:10:07- They wanted to create a memorial - mural as Miss Janet enjoyed art.

0:10:07 > 0:10:13- We asked the pupils to come up - with words that described her.

0:10:13 > 0:10:20- That's how we got - the idea for the mural.

0:10:24 > 0:10:29- The mural has been created - from 84 pieces of wood...

0:10:29 > 0:10:32- ..so it's like a giant jigsaw.

0:10:33 > 0:10:36- Every pupil had the chance - to do some painting.

0:10:37 > 0:10:41- They all know which piece - they worked on within the mural.

0:10:42 > 0:10:46- I thought about creating a mural - to remember Miss Janet.

0:10:46 > 0:10:53- There are happy words on the wall - because Miss Janet was always happy.

0:11:01 > 0:11:05- ..because it brought back lots of - memories of working with Miss Janet.

0:11:29 > 0:11:36- We all reminisced about Miss Janet - and the pupils understood the task.

0:11:42 > 0:11:46- I hope it will be proudly displayed - on the wall to remember Miss Janet.

0:11:46 > 0:11:51- It reminds me of Miss Janet - and it makes me feel happy.

0:11:51 > 0:11:59- My favourite part is the words - such as friend and smile.

0:11:59 > 0:12:04- Miss Janet was a friend - to everyone at the school.
