0:30:13 > 0:30:16- It's home to streams that - flows into the River Conwy.

0:30:16 > 0:30:20- It feeds from a 590-square-kilometre - and 55-kilometre-long basin...

0:30:21 > 0:30:25- ..and flows through Betws-y-Coed and - Llanrwst before stopping in Conwy...

0:31:31 > 0:31:35- ..and posed as - a flood threat for Llanrwst.

0:31:39 > 0:31:43- ..do you have to consider - the social factors and landscape?

0:31:43 > 0:31:48- Our main aim is to protect - residents and their belongings.

0:31:49 > 0:31:52- Our statistics shows - that it has saved Llanrwst...

0:31:52 > 0:31:56- ..from numerous floods - in the last five years.

0:31:56 > 0:32:00- A significant amount of rain - falls on the mountains...

0:32:00 > 0:32:03- ..and it all travels down - to the Conwy Valley.

0:32:33 > 0:32:44- When it very high, it breaks on to - the land and reaches the hedgerows.
