0:01:14 > 0:01:16Hey!

0:01:16 > 0:01:20Let's hear it for our purple team, the Hattrills.

0:01:20 > 0:01:21CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:01:21 > 0:01:24- Who have we got here?- Hi, I'm Scott. - All right, Scott, welcome, buddy.

0:01:24 > 0:01:27This is my younger brother Wayne and my cousin Danielle.

0:01:27 > 0:01:30- OK. Are you married? - I am married, I have five children.

0:01:30 > 0:01:32Five kids! Five kids!

0:01:32 > 0:01:35Give me a hug, I feel your pain. I know exactly what you're going

0:01:35 > 0:01:38through, you'll do anything to get out of the house, right?

0:01:38 > 0:01:41I understand. You know what I try and find out about our families

0:01:41 > 0:01:44when they turn up on the show is if they've got any nicknames,

0:01:44 > 0:01:46has any of you got any nicknames?

0:01:46 > 0:01:48I do have a nickname from my two brothers,

0:01:48 > 0:01:50'the fly', from the film The Fly.

0:01:50 > 0:01:51What, they think...?

0:01:51 > 0:01:54They think I have quite big eyes, like a fly.

0:01:54 > 0:01:56- Oh, really?- I'm all seeing, apparently.

0:01:56 > 0:01:58- Listen, but, but...- It helps me, I can see where I'm going.

0:01:58 > 0:02:01Listen, it might come in handy tonight.

0:02:01 > 0:02:03And Danielle, beautiful lady, how are you doing?

0:02:03 > 0:02:06- I'm all right, thank you. - What do you do for a living, my love?

0:02:06 > 0:02:10- Erm, I'm a nanny.- OK. - I've got a little boy, Max, who's one, in a few days.

0:02:10 > 0:02:12- Is he watching, is he watching the show?- Well, hopefully!

0:02:12 > 0:02:14Come on, let's give Max a wave.

0:02:14 > 0:02:16Look, Mummy's going to be showing off tonight.

0:02:16 > 0:02:19Let's make them feel welcome - the Hattrills!

0:02:19 > 0:02:20CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:02:20 > 0:02:24Let's say hello to the orange team. All hail the Harrops.

0:02:24 > 0:02:27- How are you, sir? - Good evening.- Who've we got here?

0:02:27 > 0:02:29Yes, Shane, well, I'm Ben, we're the Harrop family,

0:02:29 > 0:02:33I'm the middle brother. I've got my younger brother Sam and my older brother Matt.

0:02:33 > 0:02:35So, Ben, what do you do for a living, sir?

0:02:35 > 0:02:37I'm in the army, I'm a major in the Parachute Regiment.

0:02:37 > 0:02:39- Are you really in the Parachute Regiment?- I am, yeah.

0:02:39 > 0:02:43- And you're a major?- I am, yes. - Sir!- Very good!- Who have we got here?

0:02:43 > 0:02:46Hi, my name's Sam, I used to sing in a group called

0:02:46 > 0:02:49- the Buzztones for an a cappella vocal group so...- Really?- I am so...

0:02:49 > 0:02:51So do you think music might help you tonight?

0:02:51 > 0:02:53Erm, probably not, to be honest.

0:02:53 > 0:02:56Good answer, cos it won't. Matt, how are you, sir?

0:02:56 > 0:02:59- I'm very good, thank you, Shane. - Tell us a little about yourself!

0:02:59 > 0:03:03Slightly more conventional than my brothers, I've got an office job, I'm a retail consultant.

0:03:03 > 0:03:05What do you think you bring to the game tonight?

0:03:05 > 0:03:08Well, I think my brothers would say I'm the geeky one,

0:03:08 > 0:03:11- I'm pretty good with numbers.- Was he known as the geeky one growing up?

0:03:11 > 0:03:12- Erm, yes.- Was he?

0:03:12 > 0:03:15Give them a big round of applause, welcome the Harrops!

0:03:15 > 0:03:19Yes, well done, guys. Right, now the rules are very, very simple, OK?

0:03:19 > 0:03:22The idea is to be as fast as you can over five physical and mental games

0:03:22 > 0:03:25and the family that works best together and works the fastest

0:03:25 > 0:03:27will gain the most points and hopefully go on to our end game,

0:03:27 > 0:03:30which is called the Moneyball, where you can win £20,000.

0:03:30 > 0:03:33I'll tell you more about it later. First, are you ready for our first challenge?

0:03:33 > 0:03:36- Yes!- Are you guys ready for the first challenge?

0:03:36 > 0:03:38- Yes!- Yes sir, sir, sir. OK, have a look at this.

0:03:38 > 0:03:41In tonight's first head-to-head, both players must

0:03:41 > 0:03:45stand on a four-meter tower of five flimsy shelves.

0:03:45 > 0:03:48On hearing the reflex trigger, they must launch themselves down

0:03:48 > 0:03:50breaking through these shelves.

0:03:50 > 0:03:53Inside each shelf are hundreds of foam balls.

0:03:53 > 0:03:56On landing, the player who locates one of only five yellow balls

0:03:56 > 0:04:01and places it into their target tube will score their family one point.

0:04:02 > 0:04:05I'll ask you to talk about who you think should play this game, and who

0:04:05 > 0:04:08you think is better suited for falling through those floorboards.

0:04:08 > 0:04:10Off you go, go and have a little chat.

0:04:10 > 0:04:13I think...I'm fast on colour.

0:04:13 > 0:04:15I'm quick on colour.

0:04:15 > 0:04:18So each team needs to choose a player to take on the first challenge,

0:04:18 > 0:04:21but all three will have to play a game each, so they'll need to choose wisely...

0:04:21 > 0:04:24You've got to be able to pick yourself up pretty quickly...

0:04:24 > 0:04:27- Bad Choice. Bad Choice.- Really?

0:04:27 > 0:04:30I reckon I could do it, but it's all about the speed of getting up...

0:04:30 > 0:04:32- It's nimble.- And finding that yellow ball too.

0:04:32 > 0:04:34- All right, Shane. - What are you thinking?

0:04:34 > 0:04:37We're thinking Major Ben is probably the one for this.

0:04:37 > 0:04:41- There's a surprise, there's nothing to do with throwing and jumping and falling.- Well, exactly.

0:04:41 > 0:04:44They seem to have a height advantage, do you think that matters?

0:04:44 > 0:04:49- No, it's mental, it's all in here. - I think this will be an advantage to us cos we're shorter,

0:04:49 > 0:04:52we're closer to the ground, we'd be down quickly, agile.

0:04:52 > 0:04:55OK, teams, if you'd like to turn round and face the front.

0:04:55 > 0:04:59You've made your decisions, yes? Well, let's find out.

0:04:59 > 0:05:00Take a step forward.

0:05:00 > 0:05:03CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:05:03 > 0:05:10Ahh! This looks like a game of David versus Goliath.

0:05:10 > 0:05:11Off you go, fellas.

0:05:11 > 0:05:15OK, this is the first of tonight's battles of speed and reaction.

0:05:15 > 0:05:19Scott is 1.7m tall and when he's not working at the Royal Mail,

0:05:19 > 0:05:21he says he's a problem solver.

0:05:21 > 0:05:24Will he be able to sort out a massive height problem? Because...

0:05:24 > 0:05:27Towering over him at over 1.9m

0:05:27 > 0:05:29is Ben, a major in the Paras,

0:05:29 > 0:05:31and an all-round sports fanatic.

0:05:34 > 0:05:37If there was ever a mismatch, this is it!

0:05:37 > 0:05:39Was he up for this one straightaway or was he bullied in to it?

0:05:39 > 0:05:43I think he wanted to put himself straight up for it.

0:05:43 > 0:05:46- We were happy with that, you know, he can lead by example.- OK!

0:05:46 > 0:05:49So, Wayne, Danielle, right decision using Scott?

0:05:49 > 0:05:52- Definitely. - Yeah, he's hungry, Shane.

0:05:52 > 0:05:54- Look at him.- I can see the hunger in his eyes.- He wants it.

0:05:54 > 0:05:55- He does, doesn't he?- Yeah.

0:05:55 > 0:05:59I must remain impartial, but that could be fear in his eyes.

0:05:59 > 0:06:01Right then, Major Ben, Scott,

0:06:01 > 0:06:03are you ready to play?

0:06:03 > 0:06:05Yep?

0:06:05 > 0:06:06Let's play.

0:06:06 > 0:06:09The reflex trigger can fire at any moment.

0:06:16 > 0:06:18That's the jump signal,

0:06:18 > 0:06:19and this is a go-go-go!

0:06:20 > 0:06:23Who will be the first to find one yellow ball

0:06:23 > 0:06:25and put it into their cylinder?

0:06:25 > 0:06:29Will it be Major Ben of the Paras or Scott the postman?

0:06:29 > 0:06:31I know who my money's on.

0:06:31 > 0:06:33Time to enter the drop zone.

0:06:35 > 0:06:37And all eyes, then, on Major Ben of 3 Para -

0:06:37 > 0:06:40arms out, body rigid, steely jaw.

0:06:40 > 0:06:44Scott looks like he's just bombing someone in the local swimming pool.

0:06:44 > 0:06:46They're neck and neck,

0:06:46 > 0:06:48but that's about to change.

0:06:48 > 0:06:50Major Ben, with all his training,

0:06:50 > 0:06:52will want to make this a textbook landing,

0:06:52 > 0:06:54won't want to let the regiment down.

0:06:54 > 0:06:57Scott's got three yellow balls floating next to his head.

0:06:57 > 0:07:00I wonder if he's noticed them?

0:07:00 > 0:07:03Anyway, it's time to witness the Para roll! Here it comes!

0:07:04 > 0:07:06Yes! Wow!

0:07:06 > 0:07:09I've always wanted to see that done properly.

0:07:09 > 0:07:13Actually, I don't think his legs are supposed to do that.

0:07:15 > 0:07:17Oh, that just looks silly!

0:07:17 > 0:07:20So the race is on. Who'll be the quickest to spring into action,

0:07:20 > 0:07:23grab a ball and stick it down the tube?

0:07:23 > 0:07:27Major Ben trying to get these enormous legs under control.

0:07:27 > 0:07:29While Scott is having some sort of duvet day.

0:07:29 > 0:07:34Oh, no, he's not, he's found something! It's a yellow ball!

0:07:34 > 0:07:36But what about Major Ben? He's got one too!

0:07:36 > 0:07:38This is neck and neck -

0:07:38 > 0:07:40just a question of who can deliver it the quickest.

0:07:40 > 0:07:43Postman Scott has got a slight edge

0:07:43 > 0:07:47but Major Ben really springing into action now - look at that reach!

0:07:47 > 0:07:49Oh, there's nothing in this!

0:07:49 > 0:07:50It's going to be close.

0:07:50 > 0:07:52This could be anyone's!

0:07:52 > 0:07:54Has Major Ben done it?

0:07:54 > 0:07:56Poor old Scott never stood a chance

0:07:56 > 0:07:59against such a highly trained, well-oiled...

0:07:59 > 0:08:01Hang on, hang on.

0:08:01 > 0:08:02Major Ben's fluffed it.

0:08:04 > 0:08:07And possibly given himself a nasty chin burn too!

0:08:09 > 0:08:11Which means Postman Scott's got it!

0:08:11 > 0:08:14That's what years of picking up things, licking them,

0:08:14 > 0:08:17sticking them onto things, putting them through things into other things,

0:08:17 > 0:08:19sometimes a few days late, will get you!

0:08:19 > 0:08:22Always knew he'd be good at this!

0:08:22 > 0:08:24- A postman always delivers!- Yes!

0:08:24 > 0:08:27All right, hands up, I thought he would lose.

0:08:28 > 0:08:30Ah, well done, buddy.

0:08:30 > 0:08:32Look at you, congratulations!

0:08:33 > 0:08:35Well done! Did you have a plan?

0:08:35 > 0:08:38I planned to win! But I was confident when I was up there

0:08:38 > 0:08:41and when that gun went, I was there. I knew I'd have it.

0:08:41 > 0:08:43Well done. Congratulations, buddy.

0:08:43 > 0:08:45Well done. Let's look at the scores so far.

0:08:47 > 0:08:49So it's early doors as Scott scores.

0:08:49 > 0:08:51Can the Harrops hurry up

0:08:51 > 0:08:52and square things up?

0:08:52 > 0:08:54APPLAUSE

0:08:54 > 0:08:58That is the beginning of the show. We've still got a long way to go.

0:08:58 > 0:09:00Right, who's up for challenge number two, yeah?

0:09:00 > 0:09:02OK, have a look at this.

0:09:02 > 0:09:04Standing opposite each other,

0:09:04 > 0:09:06both players face a 4m glass screen.

0:09:06 > 0:09:08On hearing the reflex trigger,

0:09:08 > 0:09:11they must throw the contents of a standard paint tin

0:09:11 > 0:09:13toward that glass.

0:09:13 > 0:09:17The first drop of paint to hit the glass will win that player a point.

0:09:19 > 0:09:22Right, now, families, I know you're looking at me

0:09:22 > 0:09:24and you're probably going, "Oh, Shane, come on,

0:09:24 > 0:09:27"picking up a pot of paint and throwing it at a piece of glass!"

0:09:27 > 0:09:30Of course, it does look easy but it's all about the technique -

0:09:30 > 0:09:32do you throw it up, throw it forward? It's all about technique -

0:09:32 > 0:09:35so guys get in to your huddles, decide who'll play challenge two.

0:09:35 > 0:09:37- Yeah, I'd take it. - I won't take this.

0:09:37 > 0:09:39You won't do this one? Are you sure?

0:09:39 > 0:09:42- No, I'm just a bit weak. I won't take it.- I'll take it.

0:09:42 > 0:09:44- Yeah? Nail this?- Yeah.

0:09:44 > 0:09:47It hasn't got handles on it. It's literally just a tin.

0:09:47 > 0:09:49I think this one you'll need to be quick off the draw

0:09:49 > 0:09:51- cos it's going to be micro seconds, isn't it?- Yeah.

0:09:51 > 0:09:54- The throw will be important.- Now you're probably thinking like me,

0:09:54 > 0:09:57it looks very straightforward, and it is, really, but of course

0:09:57 > 0:10:00when you've got the cameras, the lights, and the pressure's on

0:10:00 > 0:10:03it's all about split second timing, how quick do you pick the can up,

0:10:03 > 0:10:06which direction you throw in and it is really all about timing.

0:10:06 > 0:10:08So it will be interesting to see who'll play this one.

0:10:08 > 0:10:12Right, families, if you'd like to turn around and face the front,

0:10:12 > 0:10:15let's find out who's playing. Take a step forward.

0:10:17 > 0:10:18It's 31-year-old Wayne,

0:10:18 > 0:10:22who plays golf, so he'll have good hand-to-eye co-ordination

0:10:22 > 0:10:25but what are his interior design skills like?

0:10:25 > 0:10:28Against Sam, the youngest Harrop brother,

0:10:28 > 0:10:29who has plenty of paint experience,

0:10:29 > 0:10:32having just redecorated his new house!

0:10:35 > 0:10:38So, this is DIY, Reflex style.

0:10:42 > 0:10:45Do you think he'll want to get this to impress you

0:10:45 > 0:10:47because he's up against you?

0:10:47 > 0:10:49Definitely, yeah. No, he's going to do it. He's going to win.

0:10:49 > 0:10:51- He will do it, definitely. - Will he gloat?

0:10:51 > 0:10:53Absolutely!

0:10:53 > 0:10:55LAUGHTER

0:10:55 > 0:10:57Well, fellas, what are his DIY skills like?

0:10:57 > 0:11:01- I don't think he'll need them on this.- He's still practising.

0:11:01 > 0:11:04- We need these points to get back in the game, all right, fellas?- Yep.

0:11:04 > 0:11:07OK, well, it's Sam versus Wayne the Fly.

0:11:07 > 0:11:10APPLAUSE

0:11:11 > 0:11:14- Fellas, are you ready for this challenge?- Yeah.

0:11:14 > 0:11:15Let's play.

0:11:17 > 0:11:21This going to be one hell of a paint fight at the decorator's corral.

0:11:21 > 0:11:24Each pot contains 2.5 litres of paint.

0:11:24 > 0:11:27The question is, what are these two gunslingers packing?

0:11:29 > 0:11:33Perhaps Sam's chosen a brilliant white one-coat gloss.

0:11:33 > 0:11:36Maybe Wayne's opted for a simple oil-based wood primer.

0:11:38 > 0:11:39We're about to find out...

0:11:43 > 0:11:45..who will be quickest off the draw,

0:11:45 > 0:11:46any second now.

0:11:47 > 0:11:49Here they go!

0:11:49 > 0:11:52Sam's first to react with a straightforward chuck,

0:11:52 > 0:11:57while Wayne's using more of a lasso motion. That can't be right.

0:11:57 > 0:11:59It's going up, not across!

0:11:59 > 0:12:01But Sam's technique is perfect,

0:12:01 > 0:12:04as is his paint - a mellow tangerine emulsion

0:12:04 > 0:12:07with a hint of postbox red. So warm!

0:12:08 > 0:12:11That's a high trajectory but travelling at speed.

0:12:11 > 0:12:14Wayne's lasso style means his paint's going backwards,

0:12:14 > 0:12:18which must surely slow it down - shame, because it looks lovely,

0:12:18 > 0:12:20an eggshell paint in stormy plum

0:12:20 > 0:12:23and it's a low odour, easy wipe and practical!

0:12:24 > 0:12:26This is going to be close.

0:12:26 > 0:12:29Which paint is going to hit the glass first?

0:12:29 > 0:12:30Who's leaving with a point

0:12:30 > 0:12:33and who's leaving just smelling of white spirits?

0:12:35 > 0:12:37Both paints race toward the glass,

0:12:37 > 0:12:39but in very different ways.

0:12:40 > 0:12:43Oh, it looks like Wayne's stormy plum is catching up.

0:12:43 > 0:12:45First drop to hit the screen will win!

0:12:45 > 0:12:47And stormy plum has won!

0:12:47 > 0:12:49Yes!

0:12:50 > 0:12:54Which means Wayne scores the Hattrills another precious point!

0:12:54 > 0:12:58Sam's not happy, and I don't blame him.

0:12:58 > 0:13:01Wayne's made a complete mess. He's got paint everywhere!

0:13:01 > 0:13:03And I don't think that colour scheme works at all!

0:13:07 > 0:13:09Well done.

0:13:09 > 0:13:11What happened out there?

0:13:11 > 0:13:13My technique obviously wasn't quite as good.

0:13:13 > 0:13:15- Matt, it's all down to you now, buddy.- It is.

0:13:15 > 0:13:17I feel a bit of pressure now.

0:13:17 > 0:13:19There is a lot of pressure on you now, buddy!

0:13:19 > 0:13:22Commiserations, but we've still got a long way to go.

0:13:22 > 0:13:24He's going to be gloating now, isn't he?

0:13:24 > 0:13:27- You can see him gloating. - That's fine. He was amazing, yes.

0:13:27 > 0:13:29I had faith in him and he delivered.

0:13:29 > 0:13:32So of course, Danielle, we know you've got to be playing next,

0:13:32 > 0:13:35but of course, let's look at our scores!

0:13:35 > 0:13:38The win doubles the Hattrills' lead to 2.

0:13:38 > 0:13:40What now can the Harrops do?

0:13:42 > 0:13:43Still loads to play for, guys.

0:13:43 > 0:13:46You're going to need challenge three to get back in the game, OK?

0:13:46 > 0:13:48Let's have a look at challenge three.

0:13:48 > 0:13:52Each player will stand under five suspended coloured water balloons.

0:13:52 > 0:13:54On hearing the three-balloon sequence

0:13:54 > 0:13:59they must smash the correct coloured balloons using their spiked mallet.

0:13:59 > 0:14:01The player to burst the balloons in the correct order,

0:14:01 > 0:14:04in the fastest time, will win that heat.

0:14:04 > 0:14:05There are three heats

0:14:05 > 0:14:08and the best out of three will win a point for their family.

0:14:10 > 0:14:14Wow! Yeah, I do believe we know who's going to be playing this game,

0:14:14 > 0:14:17so, Matt, Danielle, if you'd like to step forward.

0:14:17 > 0:14:21So Danielle's giving away over a foot in height

0:14:21 > 0:14:23but has impressive hand-to-eye sports skills.

0:14:25 > 0:14:28While Matt is ten years older, but as the geek of the Harrop family

0:14:28 > 0:14:30he's packing an excellent memory.

0:14:33 > 0:14:35All right.

0:14:35 > 0:14:37APPLAUSE

0:14:39 > 0:14:42Well, without pointing out the obvious,

0:14:42 > 0:14:46there is, er, a height advantage here, I do believe! Is that right?

0:14:46 > 0:14:48Danielle! Heigh ho!

0:14:48 > 0:14:50LAUGHTER

0:14:50 > 0:14:52Believe it or not, this game suits Dan.

0:14:52 > 0:14:54She does this sort of thing all the time...

0:14:54 > 0:14:56What, wanders round hitting balloons?

0:14:56 > 0:14:57LAUGHTER

0:14:57 > 0:15:00Yeah, the colour co-ordination will be fine for Dan

0:15:00 > 0:15:02and she's very quick so I have faith in her.

0:15:02 > 0:15:04- Good. Right, guys, come on, you need this one.- Yeah.

0:15:04 > 0:15:06I want you to be able to get back in the game.

0:15:06 > 0:15:08He's good with sequences, so he should be all right.

0:15:08 > 0:15:10Let's see because he's a bit of a geek, isn't he?

0:15:10 > 0:15:13- He's the geek of the family. - A little bit, but he is, definitely.

0:15:13 > 0:15:17Guys, we desperately need this point to get you back in the game

0:15:17 > 0:15:20and it is three heats. Let's play.

0:15:21 > 0:15:24So, the best of three heats will secure that precious point.

0:15:24 > 0:15:26Victory for Danielle

0:15:26 > 0:15:29will take the Hattrills to a commanding lead of three,

0:15:29 > 0:15:32while the Harrops are desperate to get something onto the score board.

0:15:32 > 0:15:33Nervous moments.

0:15:33 > 0:15:37I'm pretty nervous as well, as I have to call out the sequence.

0:15:37 > 0:15:40Haven't really done much of this stuff before, so here we go.

0:15:40 > 0:15:41MICROPHONE FEEDBACK

0:15:41 > 0:15:43Testing! One, two!

0:15:43 > 0:15:45And the sequence is...

0:15:45 > 0:15:48green, blue, red.

0:15:49 > 0:15:51Well, they heard that all right!

0:15:51 > 0:15:53And Danielle is quick to spring into action.

0:15:53 > 0:15:56While it looks like brainy Matt's using his massive mind

0:15:56 > 0:15:57to burst these balloons!

0:15:58 > 0:16:01Five-foot-two Danielle smashes the green balloon.

0:16:01 > 0:16:04Well, it's good to know she can reach them. That's important!

0:16:04 > 0:16:07Matt's only just started moving and decided to use his mallet now.

0:16:07 > 0:16:11Good idea. Don't think the mind power thing was working.

0:16:11 > 0:16:13Danielle, one balloon ahead.

0:16:13 > 0:16:14Blue one next.

0:16:14 > 0:16:17Matt goes for the green, whilst looking across at the blue.

0:16:17 > 0:16:19What's that green balloon doing?

0:16:19 > 0:16:20Danielle's burst the blue

0:16:20 > 0:16:24and Matt's burst...half the green?

0:16:24 > 0:16:26I didn't even know you could do that.

0:16:26 > 0:16:29Danielle's just got the red balloon to go.

0:16:29 > 0:16:32Matt's got a face full of water, but he's burst the blue!

0:16:32 > 0:16:34But I don't think he's going to catch Danielle.

0:16:34 > 0:16:37Just the red balloon to get. Here she goes!

0:16:38 > 0:16:40Oh, that's the pink one, Danielle!

0:16:40 > 0:16:43The red one is on the end there.

0:16:43 > 0:16:45You can tell, it's all red, red all over!

0:16:46 > 0:16:47But look at this!

0:16:47 > 0:16:51Brainy Matt's magnificent mind has sensed an opportunity.

0:16:51 > 0:16:54Here he goes. Danielle can only watch.

0:16:54 > 0:16:56He's going to smash this. Yes...

0:16:56 > 0:16:58No, how did he miss that?

0:16:58 > 0:17:00I mean, it's not even moving!

0:17:00 > 0:17:02Well, they've ruined this game.

0:17:02 > 0:17:05It was supposed to be dynamic and action-packed

0:17:05 > 0:17:08and it just looks silly. I mean, look at that green balloon.

0:17:08 > 0:17:09What's it doing?

0:17:09 > 0:17:10MORRIS DANCING MUSIC

0:17:10 > 0:17:12And this music is not helping.

0:17:12 > 0:17:13Right, back to the game

0:17:13 > 0:17:16but to be perfectly honest, the moment's gone.

0:17:16 > 0:17:18Brainy Matt's won the first heat.

0:17:18 > 0:17:22Hopefully they'll all do a bit better in the next one!

0:17:23 > 0:17:25And the first heat goes to Matt.

0:17:25 > 0:17:27APPLAUSE

0:17:27 > 0:17:29Well, that's them back in the game now,

0:17:29 > 0:17:31but it is the best of three heats.

0:17:31 > 0:17:34Danielle, sadly, supposed to hit the red,

0:17:34 > 0:17:37you hit the pink, didn't you? But as I said, it is best of three.

0:17:37 > 0:17:39Let's play our second heat.

0:17:39 > 0:17:41Right, take two, heat two.

0:17:41 > 0:17:43Let's hope they can get it right this time!

0:17:43 > 0:17:45Opening the sealed envelope...

0:17:47 > 0:17:49Oh, this one's going to be good!

0:17:49 > 0:17:52Here we go. Press the button.

0:17:52 > 0:17:54The sequence is...

0:17:54 > 0:17:56yellow, green, red.

0:17:56 > 0:17:59Yeah, that was good, that felt natural.

0:17:59 > 0:18:01Quick off the mark again is Danielle.

0:18:01 > 0:18:05Matt still using that mind power thing. It doesn't work, Matt!

0:18:07 > 0:18:08Danielle's nailed the yellow!

0:18:08 > 0:18:11And she's moving straight onto the green. Good reactions!

0:18:11 > 0:18:15Which is a lot more than I can say for brainy Matt.

0:18:15 > 0:18:19At this rate, Danielle's going to have the yellow and the green

0:18:19 > 0:18:20before Matt does anything.

0:18:22 > 0:18:23Finally, here he goes.

0:18:23 > 0:18:26Come on, Matt, your brothers need this win!

0:18:27 > 0:18:28Yes, he's got the yellow!

0:18:28 > 0:18:32But Danielle bursts the green and is one balloon ahead!

0:18:32 > 0:18:34Matt's switching to the green balloon now

0:18:34 > 0:18:36but Danielle's still in the lead.

0:18:36 > 0:18:38Matt adjusts for the green

0:18:38 > 0:18:39but Danielle only needs the red.

0:18:39 > 0:18:43She won't make the same mistake again by hitting that pink balloon!

0:18:43 > 0:18:45Matt's got the green, but it's all over

0:18:45 > 0:18:47because Danielle's got the...

0:18:47 > 0:18:48What? Pink again?!

0:18:52 > 0:18:53No, Danielle, it's the red one.

0:18:53 > 0:18:57The red! I said at the beginning, yellow, green, red!

0:18:58 > 0:19:01I've got the button pressed, haven't I?

0:19:01 > 0:19:03Anyway, they both have the yellow and green,

0:19:03 > 0:19:06but now it's just a race to the red.

0:19:06 > 0:19:08Can Danielle see anything behind that wall of water?

0:19:08 > 0:19:11She's going to have to if she's going to beat Matt to the red.

0:19:11 > 0:19:14I think he's got the edge. Can he make it count?

0:19:14 > 0:19:16Matt's done it!

0:19:17 > 0:19:21And that means he just won the Harrops their first point!

0:19:21 > 0:19:22APPLAUSE

0:19:22 > 0:19:27Danielle must be devastated. She could have won that twice over!

0:19:27 > 0:19:30But Matt has done what his brothers couldn't do - win a challenge!

0:19:32 > 0:19:34What an inspiration!

0:19:36 > 0:19:39Never forget this name -

0:19:39 > 0:19:42Matt Carrot, retail consultant.

0:19:44 > 0:19:50Sorry, Harrop, it's Matt Harrop, retail consultant, not Carrot.

0:19:50 > 0:19:51My mistake.

0:19:53 > 0:19:54Wahey!

0:19:55 > 0:20:01Commiserations, Danielle. Let's see how that's affected our scores.

0:20:02 > 0:20:04So the Harrops pull one back.

0:20:04 > 0:20:07It's 2-1, and now things are getting really fun.

0:20:07 > 0:20:09I've got to stop this silly rhyming thing.

0:20:11 > 0:20:14Yes! Right.

0:20:14 > 0:20:16The pressure is now on, guys. OK?

0:20:16 > 0:20:18You've all played your individual rounds,

0:20:18 > 0:20:22now it's time to team up, OK? Who is going to get left behind?

0:20:22 > 0:20:25Which of you families work best together? Who gets on best together?

0:20:25 > 0:20:29Who maybe doesn't get on best? But one of you will get left behind

0:20:29 > 0:20:31as we play challenge four.

0:20:32 > 0:20:36Each pair of players will be fitted with an electronic button suit.

0:20:36 > 0:20:38On hearing the reflex trigger

0:20:38 > 0:20:40they must follow a 20-light sequence

0:20:40 > 0:20:42alternating between each player

0:20:42 > 0:20:46by finding and hitting each button that's illuminated.

0:20:46 > 0:20:49First pair to complete this sequence in the fastest time

0:20:49 > 0:20:51will score their family two points.

0:20:53 > 0:20:55Aw, isn't that great, hey?

0:20:56 > 0:21:00So, guys, want to talk about this one? Off you go, then!

0:21:00 > 0:21:02I think me and Danielle should do it.

0:21:02 > 0:21:04I think I'm going to be rapid on this one.

0:21:04 > 0:21:06How do you feel about this?

0:21:06 > 0:21:10I think given your confidence is up, you should definitely do it.

0:21:10 > 0:21:12I was going to go me and you.

0:21:12 > 0:21:14- Were you?- Mmm, cos we're the same height.

0:21:16 > 0:21:19I don't know if being the same height will help or not help,

0:21:19 > 0:21:21I don't know. None of us have a martial arts background,

0:21:21 > 0:21:24which might make a difference, but I doubt they have.

0:21:24 > 0:21:25Ooh! It's heating up now, isn't it?

0:21:25 > 0:21:28If it was me, though, for the Harrops, I'd get Matt to play

0:21:28 > 0:21:31cos his confidence is up now, he was buzzing in that last round

0:21:31 > 0:21:33and he done really well. But who does he play with?

0:21:33 > 0:21:35Does he play with Sam

0:21:35 > 0:21:39or does he get his tough GI Joe with the kung fu grip to play with him?

0:21:39 > 0:21:40So that'll be interesting.

0:21:40 > 0:21:43As for Danielle, she's feeling a little bit down at the moment.

0:21:43 > 0:21:47I've got a feeling she'll hand it over to the two brothers to play.

0:21:47 > 0:21:48But she's quick, though,

0:21:48 > 0:21:51cos she proved how quick she was in that last game.

0:21:51 > 0:21:52Let's go and find out.

0:21:52 > 0:21:55Right, families, if you'd like to turn and face the front,

0:21:55 > 0:21:58there are two points up for grabs in this challenge number four.

0:21:58 > 0:22:03- Now, have you decided who is going to play challenge four?- We have.

0:22:03 > 0:22:05Bearing in mind we'll have to leave someone behind.

0:22:05 > 0:22:07So, take a step forward.

0:22:09 > 0:22:11APPLAUSE

0:22:12 > 0:22:16Oh-ho! Bearing in mind we've doubled up the teams,

0:22:16 > 0:22:18we're doubling up the points. Let's play.

0:22:18 > 0:22:22So Scott and Danielle obviously think they work best together

0:22:22 > 0:22:25and can overcome the towering brothers of Ben and Matt.

0:22:28 > 0:22:29So each contestant

0:22:29 > 0:22:32dressed in a rather fetching hi-tech suit of light bulbs,

0:22:32 > 0:22:35which will turn on randomly in a 20-light sequence

0:22:35 > 0:22:37that they must follow as quickly as possible.

0:22:39 > 0:22:41Underneath is a full set of body armour, protection

0:22:41 > 0:22:45from their partner's blows but also the occasional power surge.

0:22:45 > 0:22:48When these bulbs fuse, it's like watching a firework go off!

0:22:48 > 0:22:50APPLAUSE

0:22:50 > 0:22:52Wow, so right, you guys,

0:22:52 > 0:22:54it's 2-1 to the Hattrills.

0:22:56 > 0:22:59Whatever happens in this game will change the score significantly

0:22:59 > 0:23:01to either family. You're aware of that, aren't you?

0:23:01 > 0:23:05There's two points up for grabs. How do you feel about being left behind?

0:23:05 > 0:23:07- I think the best people have gone forward for this game.- You sure?

0:23:07 > 0:23:09Yeah, I'm confident they'll take it.

0:23:09 > 0:23:12- What about you?- Yeah, I think Ben and Matt will do a good job.

0:23:12 > 0:23:13We can't afford to go 4-1 down.

0:23:13 > 0:23:17Could this be personal between these two? Were they fighting siblings?

0:23:17 > 0:23:20A little bit, they won't be afraid to give each other a bit of a...

0:23:20 > 0:23:22Good. OK. As I've reminded you,

0:23:22 > 0:23:25- there are two points in this, OK, guys?- Come on.

0:23:25 > 0:23:26- Are you ready?- Yeah.

0:23:26 > 0:23:28Woo! Let's play.

0:23:28 > 0:23:32These two points would give the Hattrills a huge 4-1 lead,

0:23:32 > 0:23:35while victory for the Harrops would put them ahead 3-2.

0:23:35 > 0:23:37This is a pivotal moment in the competition.

0:23:38 > 0:23:42Shame, then, that both couples look completely ridiculous.

0:23:43 > 0:23:46Wayne and Sam thankful not to have to deal with all the pressure

0:23:46 > 0:23:50and more importantly, the embarrassment of having to wear that

0:23:50 > 0:23:51on national TV.

0:23:55 > 0:23:56Here we go!

0:23:58 > 0:24:01And both teams off to a ridiculous start. It's pure buffoonery.

0:24:01 > 0:24:03See, look at that!

0:24:03 > 0:24:05Nose flattener!

0:24:05 > 0:24:08Already younger brother Ben taking out a lifetime's frustration

0:24:08 > 0:24:10on his big brother's nose.

0:24:11 > 0:24:13Danielle with a terrific head slap.

0:24:13 > 0:24:15And so's that!

0:24:15 > 0:24:16Matt's revenge on Ben

0:24:16 > 0:24:18for that earlier nose flattener.

0:24:18 > 0:24:21Ouch! I could watch this all day.

0:24:25 > 0:24:28OK, that's enough. Move on!

0:24:29 > 0:24:32OK, four bulbs into the game, and both couples are neck and neck

0:24:32 > 0:24:35or in Danielle and Scott's case, bottom and elbow!

0:24:36 > 0:24:39Remember, the first pair to hit 20 lit bulbs

0:24:39 > 0:24:41bags those precious points!

0:24:41 > 0:24:45But confusion reigns at the moment, things getting frantic now.

0:24:47 > 0:24:49Cue the comedy up-tempo music!

0:24:49 > 0:24:52Halfway through this game and it's ten apiece! This is close!

0:24:52 > 0:24:55They're matching each other hit for hit!

0:24:55 > 0:24:56Now it's nine-all.

0:24:57 > 0:25:00Danielle can't find the bulb. It's right there!

0:25:00 > 0:25:03And the panic really beginning to set in!

0:25:05 > 0:25:07Scott trying to reach that elbow!

0:25:07 > 0:25:09Come on, Scott! Oh, he's missed it!

0:25:09 > 0:25:11Matt didn't, or Ben, or Scott,

0:25:11 > 0:25:13or Matt, or Danielle.

0:25:13 > 0:25:14They're all at it.

0:25:15 > 0:25:17Five-all now, and it couldn't be any closer!

0:25:19 > 0:25:22Oh, and that overly dramatic music change means something dramatic

0:25:22 > 0:25:24is about to happen.

0:25:25 > 0:25:28Matt and Ben are on four - no, three!

0:25:28 > 0:25:30The Hattrills are on one.

0:25:30 > 0:25:32No, they're not, they've done it!

0:25:32 > 0:25:34Come on!

0:25:34 > 0:25:38Oh, that was so close! The Harrops couldn't have gone any faster!

0:25:38 > 0:25:43What a spectacle it was. Blackpool illuminations, eat your heart out!

0:25:45 > 0:25:48In you come, guys.

0:25:49 > 0:25:51Congratulations.

0:25:51 > 0:25:54Well done. Let's check our scores.

0:25:56 > 0:26:00I'll avoid the poem this time. So the Hattrills start to pull away.

0:26:00 > 0:26:04It's 4-1 with all to play... I've done it again, haven't I?

0:26:05 > 0:26:09So, we've reached the climax in tonight's battle of the families,

0:26:09 > 0:26:13but there is still everything to play for as the families face each other

0:26:13 > 0:26:15in the ultimate reaction showdown.

0:26:16 > 0:26:17Bring on the families.

0:26:17 > 0:26:19APPLAUSE

0:26:19 > 0:26:21We've played singly, we've played in doubles,

0:26:21 > 0:26:23now we're playing as a family.

0:26:23 > 0:26:27And this is about quick off the mark, eye co-ordination

0:26:27 > 0:26:30and of course, using your mind. Now, the way we play this game,

0:26:30 > 0:26:32there's going to be a series of questions

0:26:32 > 0:26:34on the TV screen in front go you.

0:26:34 > 0:26:37The first one to 10 will win this challenge

0:26:37 > 0:26:40and go on to play our end game, which is, of course, Moneyball,

0:26:40 > 0:26:45where you will stand a chance of winning £20,000.

0:26:46 > 0:26:48So the families will be asked a question

0:26:48 > 0:26:50and presented with a series of answers.

0:26:50 > 0:26:53The instant they see the correct one, they must race to the button.

0:26:53 > 0:26:57The player with quickest reactions will score a point for their family.

0:26:57 > 0:27:01But if they react to an incorrect answer, they will hand a point

0:27:01 > 0:27:02over to the opposition.

0:27:02 > 0:27:05First family to 10 points will win!

0:27:05 > 0:27:10To play this using our interactive service, shout at your telly!

0:27:25 > 0:27:27hit your buttons, OK?

0:27:27 > 0:27:28You ready?

0:27:28 > 0:27:30The same in suit and number.

0:27:30 > 0:27:32Let's play.

0:27:32 > 0:27:35OK, question one is an elaborate game of snap.

0:27:35 > 0:27:36Who'll strike first?

0:27:46 > 0:27:47Everyone's going for this.

0:27:47 > 0:27:50But Danielle's got her first point for the Hattrills!

0:27:50 > 0:27:52Danielle! Well done, darling!

0:27:52 > 0:27:53APPLAUSE

0:27:53 > 0:27:56Which brings our scores to 5 to the Hattrills.

0:27:56 > 0:27:59Still behind with the one point is the Harrops. OK, question number two.

0:28:03 > 0:28:05Let's play.

0:28:05 > 0:28:06So, 5-1 to the Hattrills.

0:28:06 > 0:28:09Danielle was lighting quick there.

0:28:09 > 0:28:11Oh, no! Danielle's flinched.

0:28:11 > 0:28:14Six is not an odd number of circles and she knows it.

0:28:14 > 0:28:16Oh, Danielle!

0:28:16 > 0:28:19Harrops, you're up to 2 now. It's 5-2.

0:28:19 > 0:28:22We're still going to carry on playing this question. Let's play.

0:28:22 > 0:28:25So Danielle's just handed a point back to the Harrops

0:28:25 > 0:28:28and we're still looking for an odd number of circles.

0:28:33 > 0:28:36Both teams late to realise that one is an odd number

0:28:36 > 0:28:38but Major Ben is in there first!

0:28:38 > 0:28:42Get in there, Ben. That brings our scores up to 5-3.

0:28:44 > 0:28:46Ah, you're going to like this one.

0:28:46 > 0:28:51Hit your button when you see a bear wearing a bib.

0:28:51 > 0:28:52SHANE LAUGHS

0:28:52 > 0:28:54Let's play.

0:28:54 > 0:28:58So, a bear wearing a bib - how do they even get a bear to do that?

0:29:02 > 0:29:05Oh! Wayne, what happened?

0:29:05 > 0:29:06You come off the bottom there too quick,

0:29:06 > 0:29:09which means you've given a point over to the Harrops,

0:29:09 > 0:29:11so it's 5 to the Hattrills and 4 to the Harrops.

0:29:11 > 0:29:13This could be a major comeback here.

0:29:13 > 0:29:14APPLAUSE

0:29:14 > 0:29:17Don't forget, we're still carrying on playing.

0:29:18 > 0:29:21So Wayne the Fly buzzed too early.

0:29:21 > 0:29:22That was, of course, a bear

0:29:22 > 0:29:24but without a bib.

0:29:27 > 0:29:30Scott and Danielle have seen that way before any of the Harrops.

0:29:30 > 0:29:32- Well done, Scott!- Yes, come on!

0:29:32 > 0:29:35Brings the scores up to 6-4.

0:29:38 > 0:29:41and guys, you're catching up, you're playing a good game, OK?

0:29:41 > 0:29:44Keep up the concentration as we go into question number four.

0:29:44 > 0:29:46Hit your button as fast as you can

0:29:46 > 0:29:49when the wrong number appears in the numerical sequence.

0:29:49 > 0:29:51Let's play.

0:29:51 > 0:29:55So, we're looking for a number that is out of place in this sequence.

0:30:03 > 0:30:04Seven DOES follow six, Danielle.

0:30:04 > 0:30:07She may be fast, but it looks like she can't count!

0:30:07 > 0:30:09This is getting very close. We're going to carry on playing.

0:30:09 > 0:30:13Don't forget, when the wrong number appears in the sequence. Play on!

0:30:13 > 0:30:15So Danielle's handed a point over to the Harrops

0:31:33 > 0:31:36When you see a shape that's made up of six cubes, hit the button.

0:31:39 > 0:31:42So it's a three-dimensional puzzle.

0:31:52 > 0:31:55Oh, Ben's just beaten Scott to the button.

0:31:55 > 0:31:58Scott's not happy. He knows how important that was.

0:35:07 > 0:35:10Next is the red phase, where they face 15 more high-impact balls.

0:35:10 > 0:35:13This time the player must now avoid every ball

0:35:13 > 0:35:15as every one that makes contact subtracts a point.

0:35:15 > 0:35:17If at the end of both phases any green points remain,

0:35:17 > 0:35:19the family wins £10,000

0:36:19 > 0:36:21It's up to you to touch as many as you can.

0:36:21 > 0:36:24It doesn't matter what part of the body it hits, as long as

0:37:01 > 0:37:02Make that two!

0:37:04 > 0:37:07Arm outstretched. He's missed the first. Can he get the second?

0:37:07 > 0:37:11He's only using one arm. Come on, Wayne, you're a fly, you've got six!

0:37:11 > 0:37:13Almost came off the podium.

0:37:13 > 0:37:16Perhaps the boys should have put Danielle up there?

0:37:16 > 0:37:18Here's another. I think he skimmed the edge of that one.

0:37:18 > 0:37:21We'll find out later. Come on, Wayne.

0:37:21 > 0:37:24He really wants to start putting some points on the board now.

0:37:24 > 0:37:25- That's more like it!- Go on!

0:37:27 > 0:37:29He's missed. He's got his mouth open.

0:37:29 > 0:37:33I think he should have used his proboscis or something.

0:37:33 > 0:37:35What about using his fly vision?

0:38:18 > 0:38:21If he did, it was by the smallest of margins.

0:38:21 > 0:38:23Last one. What can he do here?

0:38:23 > 0:38:25He's using his bottom.

0:38:25 > 0:38:27That's never going to work, Wayne.

0:39:05 > 0:39:08The thing is to make contact with none of them, OK, buddy?

0:39:08 > 0:39:11Now, if you do fall off the podium

0:39:11 > 0:39:14we're going to have to deduct one of those points, OK,

0:39:14 > 0:39:17so you're defending eight points at the moment, buddy. All right?

0:39:17 > 0:39:20- All right, Shane.- So, are you ready?

0:39:20 > 0:39:23- I'm ready, Shane.- OK, let's play!

0:39:23 > 0:39:24Come on.

0:39:33 > 0:39:36There's the first one, and he's ducked it. Good start.

0:39:37 > 0:39:38Here's the second one,

0:39:38 > 0:39:41and he's ducked it again. Maybe we should call him Wayne the duck.

0:39:44 > 0:39:46Here comes red ball number three.

0:39:46 > 0:39:48Going for the trusted duck again.

0:39:48 > 0:39:50Ooh, but it hasn't paid off this time.

0:39:51 > 0:39:53Wayne the Fly will be used to that.

0:39:53 > 0:39:55I imagine it's similar to

0:39:55 > 0:39:57being hit on the head with a rolled-up newspaper.

0:39:57 > 0:39:59Look at him, ready for some more.

0:40:00 > 0:40:02He's dodged two so far. Can he dodge another?

0:40:02 > 0:40:04Yes, he can!

0:40:04 > 0:40:06Oh, but not that one.

0:40:06 > 0:40:10Just believe, Wayne, in your fly-like abilities.

0:40:10 > 0:40:11Ouch!

0:40:11 > 0:40:12Oh!

0:40:12 > 0:40:15MUSIC: "I Believe I Can Fly" by R Kelly

0:40:15 > 0:40:18I think we've established that Wayne the Fly can't fly

0:40:18 > 0:40:21and he might even have some trouble walking after that!

0:40:21 > 0:40:24He's OK, he's still standing. Here comes another.

0:40:25 > 0:40:27You'll have to move, Wayne!

0:40:27 > 0:40:29Don't just look at it, do something, Wayne!

0:40:29 > 0:40:30Oh, not again!

0:40:30 > 0:40:34Here's another from the other side. OK, what can he do here?

0:40:34 > 0:40:37Yes, he's doing the duck thing again. Yes!

0:40:37 > 0:40:39Look at that, it's beautiful!

0:40:39 > 0:40:40Well done, keep going!

0:40:40 > 0:40:42This is going to be close.

0:40:46 > 0:40:48They don't teach that at fly school!

0:40:49 > 0:40:51Well done, Wayne!

0:40:51 > 0:40:52This one's coming right at him.

0:40:53 > 0:40:57Wayne's taken a direct hit and that's knocked him off his feet.

0:40:57 > 0:40:59Is he going to stay on the podium?

0:40:59 > 0:41:02Yes, I think he is, he's all right, he's getting up,

0:41:02 > 0:41:03he's fine, he's fine.

0:41:03 > 0:41:06No, wait a minute, there's a wobble. He's going, is he going to fall?

0:41:06 > 0:41:09No, he's all right. See, it's a lot easier...

0:41:09 > 0:41:10Oh, he's gone!

0:41:13 > 0:41:16That's a disaster for Wayne - hit by another red ball

0:41:16 > 0:41:19and he's fallen, so another precious green point deducted!

0:41:19 > 0:41:21Oh, unlucky, Wayne.

0:41:21 > 0:41:24Unfortunately we have to deduct one of your points from phase one.

0:41:24 > 0:41:25So, let's play on.

0:41:25 > 0:41:27Can't be many balls left.

0:41:27 > 0:41:28I suspect he needs to avoid them all

0:41:28 > 0:41:30to have any hope of winning the cash.

0:41:31 > 0:41:33Here's the first.

0:41:33 > 0:41:35Wayne! What's he doing?

0:41:35 > 0:41:37Is he asleep?

0:41:37 > 0:41:39Ooh! That will wake him.

0:41:39 > 0:41:43That's not good. But let's remain optimistic. It's not over yet.

0:41:43 > 0:41:46Wayne, there's still a slim chance you can do this.

0:41:46 > 0:41:48You just have to dodge these last two.

0:41:48 > 0:41:51Come on, half-man half-fly!

0:41:51 > 0:41:52You can do it!

0:41:52 > 0:41:55But you will have to move a bit, though.

0:41:56 > 0:41:59Earth calling Wayne! Two red balls coming your way.

0:41:59 > 0:42:00Please move. Oh...

0:42:05 > 0:42:07Pretty sure he got hit by both of those.

0:42:09 > 0:42:13Come and join me, Wayne. Give him a big round of applause, everybody.

0:42:13 > 0:42:15Time to find out how he did.

0:42:15 > 0:42:17Got a feeling it won't be good news, though.

0:42:17 > 0:42:20Wayne started well but then took some body blows,

0:42:20 > 0:42:22then fell off, and, well,

0:42:22 > 0:42:25confirmation that his family have missed out on the £10K,
