0:00:06 > 0:00:07With our help,

0:00:07 > 0:00:12they've designed and built their very own heavyweight combat machine.

0:00:12 > 0:00:13I've sold a million singles,

0:00:13 > 0:00:16but crushing a robot is music to my ears.

0:00:16 > 0:00:19World champion, Commonwealth champion, Olympic champion,

0:00:19 > 0:00:23and now hopefully Robot Wars Champions.

0:00:23 > 0:00:25Precision engineered to inflict maximum damage,

0:00:25 > 0:00:29these novice roboteers will test their machines to breaking point.

0:00:29 > 0:00:33This is going to be carnage. I want to get out there and I want to win.

0:00:33 > 0:00:37But to do so, they must compete in the most dangerous fighting arena

0:00:37 > 0:00:39in the world.

0:00:39 > 0:00:42Battle after battle, they'll duel their robots,

0:00:42 > 0:00:46dodge the arena hazards and the dreaded house robots.

0:00:48 > 0:00:50- Here we go.- Come on!

0:00:50 > 0:00:52With only one hour repair time between battles,

0:00:52 > 0:00:54they'll need to work hard...

0:00:54 > 0:00:56It's dangerous.

0:00:56 > 0:00:57..to keep their robots running.

0:00:59 > 0:01:01It's feeling better already.

0:01:01 > 0:01:06Each team will be guided to glory by a battle-hardened robot mentor.

0:01:06 > 0:01:10Their fighting experience will be invaluable in the quest for glory.

0:01:10 > 0:01:13The power!

0:01:13 > 0:01:17Who will prove they have what it takes to become a champion?

0:01:17 > 0:01:19It's time to find out.

0:01:22 > 0:01:24This is Robot Wars: Battle Of The Stars.

0:01:31 > 0:01:34CHEERS AND APPLAUSE

0:01:34 > 0:01:38Welcome to Robot Wars: Battle Of The Stars.

0:01:38 > 0:01:41Four celebrities and their teams face off against each other

0:01:41 > 0:01:44in the world's toughest fighting arena.

0:01:47 > 0:01:50This is where the teams must smash,

0:01:50 > 0:01:54flip and outdrive the competition, and as if that wasn't tough

0:01:54 > 0:01:57enough, they still have the hazards and house robots to contend with.

0:01:57 > 0:02:00From design and build to battle and repair,

0:02:00 > 0:02:02only one can become Robot Wars Champion.

0:02:07 > 0:02:10Battling for victory tonight are:

0:02:10 > 0:02:13Radio 1's Scott Mills and Chris Stark.

0:02:13 > 0:02:16Space scientist and TV presenter Maggie Aderin-Pocock.

0:02:18 > 0:02:21Olympic medallists the Brownlee brothers.

0:02:21 > 0:02:25And sports and technology presenter Suzi Perry.

0:02:25 > 0:02:28Guiding them through the competition are four experienced

0:02:28 > 0:02:30Robot Wars mentors.

0:02:30 > 0:02:32Dave Moulds, Carbide.

0:02:33 > 0:02:37David is a professional engineer and one half of Team Carbide,

0:02:37 > 0:02:40one of the most deadly spinners ever created.

0:02:40 > 0:02:43Carbide is capable of slicing 7mm titanium armour,

0:02:43 > 0:02:46using its spinning blade.

0:02:47 > 0:02:49Shane Swan, Dantomkia.

0:02:50 > 0:02:54With 15 years' experience, Shane's speciality is flippers.

0:02:54 > 0:02:57He got to the heat final with his robot Dantomkia by

0:02:57 > 0:03:00obliterating the competition.

0:03:00 > 0:03:03Craig Danby, Foxic.

0:03:03 > 0:03:07Mechanical engineer Craig has built 132 robots in the past

0:03:07 > 0:03:1216 years and competed last series with the super-tough robot Foxic.

0:03:12 > 0:03:15Specialising in gearboxes and drive systems,

0:03:15 > 0:03:18he will give his team the push it needs.

0:03:18 > 0:03:20Gabriel Stroud, Sabretooth.

0:03:21 > 0:03:24Software company director Gabriel has been competing

0:03:24 > 0:03:27for 14 years with his robot Sabretooth.

0:03:27 > 0:03:29He's never won a televised fight,

0:03:29 > 0:03:32but has sworn to conquer the arena this time.

0:03:32 > 0:03:36These are our mentors, who will guide our robot fighters to victory.

0:03:39 > 0:03:41Here's how the competition works.

0:03:41 > 0:03:44They'll fight each other once in a mini league,

0:03:44 > 0:03:48with the top two teams making it through to tonight's grand final.

0:03:49 > 0:03:51First into the arena tonight,

0:03:51 > 0:03:55it's Scott Mills and Chris Stark versus Maggie Aderin-Pocock.

0:03:57 > 0:04:01In my day job, I see robots being built to go to other planets,

0:04:01 > 0:04:05to go to comets, so robots are part of my bread and butter, I think.

0:04:05 > 0:04:09The thing I'm most excited about, being in Robot Wars, is just

0:04:09 > 0:04:12to get in that arena and just feel the adrenaline of the audience.

0:04:12 > 0:04:16- I think that's going to carry us through. - CHEERS AND APPLAUSE

0:04:16 > 0:04:20- Chris Stark, Scott Mills and mentor Dave. Let's see it.- OK, do you want to see it?- Yes.

0:04:20 > 0:04:22- Do you want to do the big reveal? - Shall I?

0:04:22 > 0:04:26- Collective, team effort. - Three, two, one. Woo!- See?- Ooh!

0:04:35 > 0:04:39- It's baby blue in colour.- Baby blue, lovely.- But with a vicious claw.

0:04:39 > 0:04:41- Yeah, what are you saying about this?- It is vicious!

0:04:41 > 0:04:43Whose idea was this? Where did this...?

0:04:43 > 0:04:48It's kind of a combined effort. These guys gave me a drawing and I just kind of went with it and...

0:04:48 > 0:04:50Literally, the worst drawing you've ever seen.

0:04:50 > 0:04:52It was like a box and we had this idea for the yellow thing,

0:04:52 > 0:04:55- but Dave's done us proud.- Big yellow thing.- Yeah, the yellow thing.

0:04:55 > 0:04:57- Is the yellow thing lethal, Dave? - Hopefully, yeah.

0:04:57 > 0:05:00- OK.- What are our chances? - Oh, pretty good.

0:05:00 > 0:05:02OK, please, give it up for Arena Cleaner.

0:05:02 > 0:05:04CHEERS AND APPLAUSE

0:05:04 > 0:05:09OK, I don't regularly do this, but I think this is cheating. I think this is absolutely cheating.

0:05:09 > 0:05:13I think this team shouldn't be allowed in. You are a doctor of mechanical engineering,

0:05:13 > 0:05:15you have sent things into space.

0:05:15 > 0:05:19- How many things have you sent into space?- Two or three.- Two or three!

0:05:19 > 0:05:23- You can't remember the exact number of things you've sent!- I lose count!

0:05:23 > 0:05:26Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock, this is unfair! I believe this robot...

0:05:26 > 0:05:28Here it is.

0:05:38 > 0:05:40Even to claim the robot would be interstellar is in itself

0:05:40 > 0:05:42aiming so much higher than anyone else is.

0:05:42 > 0:05:45- We intend to send the other robots interstellar.- Is that it?

0:05:45 > 0:05:49- With the flipper, that's the plan. - And that's your big weapon. Was that always the one you wanted?

0:05:49 > 0:05:53- I definitely wanted a flipper. That's the one I wanted to go for always.- It's a fantastic weapon,

0:05:53 > 0:05:56- but who is going to operate the weapon?- Ah!- Hey, how are you?

0:05:56 > 0:05:59Have you thought about when you're going to hit it, press the button?

0:05:59 > 0:06:03- How far do you think they'll go in the sky?- High.

0:06:03 > 0:06:06High, that's grand. That's fine. You win! If they go high, you win.

0:06:06 > 0:06:10Give it up, ladies and gentlemen, for Interstellar MML. What a team! CHEERS AND APPLAUSE

0:06:10 > 0:06:12It's unfair! It is unfair!

0:06:14 > 0:06:17This promises to be a battle of unconventional attack,

0:06:17 > 0:06:20a rear-facing spinner against a front-end flipper.

0:06:20 > 0:06:24So, can Maggie's brains outwit Scott and Chris to take the three

0:06:24 > 0:06:28points, or will the spinner get up to speed and send her into orbit?

0:06:28 > 0:06:31Taking us through our first battle tonight,

0:06:31 > 0:06:33it's the one and only Jonathan Pearce.

0:06:33 > 0:06:35Thanks, Dara and Angela.

0:06:35 > 0:06:38Each celebrity bout tonight will be played over three minutes.

0:06:38 > 0:06:41Robots are out if they're immobilised for ten seconds,

0:06:41 > 0:06:44flipped out or find themselves down in the pit of doom.

0:06:44 > 0:06:46If after three minutes there's no winner,

0:06:46 > 0:06:48it's up to our judging panel,

0:06:48 > 0:06:52Dr Noel Sharkey, Professor Sethu Vijayakumar and Dr Lucy Rogers,

0:06:52 > 0:06:54to choose a winner.

0:06:54 > 0:06:57The teams are in the arena, so let's meet their robots.

0:06:59 > 0:07:02From Eastleigh, Arena Cleaner.

0:07:02 > 0:07:05Arena Cleaner has a ten-kilo spinning blade, which team-mates

0:07:05 > 0:07:08Scott Mills and Chris Stark hope will tidy away the opposition.

0:07:08 > 0:07:11The team have said they want to take out a house robot.

0:07:11 > 0:07:14They're unwise to anger the Guardians of the Arena.

0:07:18 > 0:07:21From London, Interstellar MML.

0:07:21 > 0:07:24Interstellar is a CO2-powered front-hinge flipper,

0:07:24 > 0:07:26a one-of-a-kind in this competition.

0:07:26 > 0:07:28The Interstellar steel armour top might be

0:07:28 > 0:07:30a weak point against spinners in the arena.

0:07:30 > 0:07:33Team captain Maggie dreams of going to the Moon and would like to

0:07:33 > 0:07:36retire on Mars. At least she is among the stars tonight.

0:07:36 > 0:07:39Of course, our celebrity teams must be wary of the house robots,

0:07:39 > 0:07:41even though it's the holiday season.

0:07:41 > 0:07:43The house robots haven't taken a day off,

0:07:43 > 0:07:46dishing out damage from their corner patrol zones.

0:07:46 > 0:07:48For our first battle,

0:07:48 > 0:07:51it's the only snowplough I know with a titanium tip axe, it's Shunt.

0:07:53 > 0:07:55CHEERS AND APPLAUSE

0:07:55 > 0:07:57Roboteers, stand by.

0:08:03 > 0:08:07The competitors are ready. It's time for our first battle.

0:08:07 > 0:08:10- The anticipation is killing me! - I don't like it!

0:08:10 > 0:08:14Three, two, one.

0:08:14 > 0:08:16Activate!

0:08:16 > 0:08:19Dr Maggie says competing on Robot Wars is a dream come true.

0:08:19 > 0:08:23How lovely, how nice. Now we're going to smash up your robot!

0:08:23 > 0:08:25Oh! Or are we?

0:08:25 > 0:08:30I think we are! Because of the yellow thing.

0:08:30 > 0:08:31Oh! The yellow thing!

0:08:32 > 0:08:34Oh!

0:08:36 > 0:08:39That big bar spinner has caused so much danger.

0:08:39 > 0:08:42She loves space. Part of her robot is in space!

0:08:44 > 0:08:46Interstellar MML is in the arena.

0:08:46 > 0:08:49Well, all over the arena floor, to be honest.

0:08:53 > 0:08:56What power behind that very weighty 20-kilo bar spinner.

0:08:56 > 0:08:58- KLAXON - All over.

0:08:58 > 0:09:02All over bar the shouting and the moaning and the groaning.

0:09:03 > 0:09:04Aw! Aw!

0:09:04 > 0:09:06It ain't going to get off!

0:09:10 > 0:09:15Dr Maggie works for the Ministry of Defence. God help us!

0:09:17 > 0:09:20Look at that power! Tyre shredded, right from the start.

0:09:22 > 0:09:23Bang! Crash!

0:09:23 > 0:09:25Smash!

0:09:25 > 0:09:29- That didn't go to plan, did it? - No! I am still in a state of shock.

0:09:29 > 0:09:31- I know.- Cos there's debris littered all over the place.

0:09:31 > 0:09:34They got a good run cos they were sort of quite hesitant,

0:09:34 > 0:09:37so I got in, but then I went a bit askew and they just laid in.

0:09:37 > 0:09:39- So that was lack of control.- It was. - You were aiming to go forwards.

0:09:39 > 0:09:43- Yes, and then try and flip them. - Listen, pull yourself back together.

0:09:43 > 0:09:45We're Interstellar, we're going to go again.

0:09:45 > 0:09:48Team morale, head up, ready for the next round? Yes, good!

0:09:48 > 0:09:51- Good, good, good! I mean, lads...- Whoa!- Wow!

0:09:51 > 0:09:55I'm so impressed with the viciousness of that claw. It's so fast.

0:09:55 > 0:09:57Lethal. Was it different to how you imagined?

0:09:57 > 0:09:59It's way more difficult, I think, when you're here.

0:09:59 > 0:10:02It's so strange, cos I feel like I'm in the TV right now.

0:10:02 > 0:10:07- It's really strange seeing it like this and seeing... - You are in the TV.

0:10:07 > 0:10:09We just won a battle of Robot Wars. It's an amazing time.

0:10:09 > 0:10:12So the points go to the Cleaners, over here.

0:10:12 > 0:10:15- Well done. - CHEERS AND APPLAUSE

0:10:17 > 0:10:20You guys are looking very casual there.

0:10:20 > 0:10:22We're just inspecting the damage. There isn't any.

0:10:22 > 0:10:25I'm just trying to calm down a little bit.

0:10:25 > 0:10:29It was so crazy in there. It just goes by so fast.

0:10:29 > 0:10:32And there's our robot, just being loaded on there.

0:10:32 > 0:10:36With the full three points and no damage to Team Arena Cleaner,

0:10:36 > 0:10:39there's time to have a nosy at their battered competition.

0:10:41 > 0:10:44What have you done? You're mean.

0:10:44 > 0:10:47I like the way you left your signature, canary-yellow paint.

0:10:47 > 0:10:50- I know, a little bit of paint left on there.- Yeah.- Sorry.

0:10:50 > 0:10:54- It's gone through a lot.- Yes. - Two layers of hardened steel there.

0:10:54 > 0:10:57- Quite, just ripped through. - That's mad.

0:10:57 > 0:10:59You think that's bad and then it progressively gets worse.

0:10:59 > 0:11:03That can't have been far off hitting one of the canisters.

0:11:03 > 0:11:04You want to go for an explosion!

0:11:04 > 0:11:07The CO2 gas canisters that power many of the robots'

0:11:07 > 0:11:10weapons are one of the most dangerous components in the arena

0:11:10 > 0:11:13and need to be handled with great care when damaged,

0:11:13 > 0:11:16as we saw last series with Terrorhurtz.

0:11:16 > 0:11:19We want robots to be crushed and diced!

0:11:19 > 0:11:23And Behemoth have responded and have pushed Terrorhurtz onto that

0:11:23 > 0:11:25side wall again.

0:11:25 > 0:11:26Back towards DeadMetal.

0:11:26 > 0:11:30Down comes the blade onto the polycarbonate armour.

0:11:30 > 0:11:33Yeah, DeadMetal had a go at us with his big circular saw and

0:11:33 > 0:11:36he's put gashes into the bottle.

0:11:36 > 0:11:39Our gas tank. We store all the gas in here.

0:11:39 > 0:11:42We probably can't use that again. It's probably not safe.

0:11:42 > 0:11:45After every battle, teams have just an hour to repair their

0:11:45 > 0:11:47robots before they must fight again.

0:11:47 > 0:11:49- We need to take out these motors. - Yes.

0:11:49 > 0:11:52- Cos they've obviously got the most damage.- Yes.

0:11:52 > 0:11:55The armour, I mean, we can hammer this armour back out.

0:11:55 > 0:11:57And this side, I guess.

0:11:57 > 0:12:01We may do a bit of welding on that bit there, just to patch it back up.

0:12:01 > 0:12:06I was actually an avid listener of Scott Mills. Not no more.

0:12:06 > 0:12:08LAUGHTER

0:12:10 > 0:12:14Dr Maggie was hoping to use some off-the-shelf tech to get the

0:12:14 > 0:12:19edge in the arena, but has discovered the hard way that it was less than battleproof.

0:12:19 > 0:12:24This is how it started looking. But unfortunately, after the battle, this is what I got back.

0:12:24 > 0:12:26So, I've still got a spare, so for the next battle,

0:12:26 > 0:12:28hopefully this will be online,

0:12:28 > 0:12:32but the carnage of that other machine was amazing because

0:12:32 > 0:12:36it really sort of shredded this and quite a bit of the robot,

0:12:36 > 0:12:38but Interstellar will not go unopposed.

0:12:38 > 0:12:40It will be rebuilt and Shane is doing

0:12:40 > 0:12:43a fantastic job in the background.

0:12:43 > 0:12:45He's rebuilding the robot, so we'll be back.

0:12:45 > 0:12:48Next battle into the arena is Olympians the Brownlee

0:12:48 > 0:12:51brothers versus Suzi Perry and Dallas Campbell.

0:12:54 > 0:12:58The idea of my robot is based on a cat. They look cute,

0:12:58 > 0:13:01but they're seriously vicious if you get on the wrong side of them.

0:13:01 > 0:13:03I'm sharing my pit garage with a great friend of mine,

0:13:03 > 0:13:05Dallas Campbell.

0:13:05 > 0:13:07We both can't wait to get started.

0:13:09 > 0:13:12We are the Brownlee brothers and we're famous for competing in

0:13:12 > 0:13:15- the Olympic Games. - We're both incredibly competitive.

0:13:15 > 0:13:19We've got enough gold. We're here to make some scrap metal.

0:13:20 > 0:13:24Alistair and Jonny Brownlee with their mentor Gabriel.

0:13:24 > 0:13:27- How are you feeling? - A little bit nervous. Obviously.

0:13:27 > 0:13:29It's the first time I've done anything like this.

0:13:29 > 0:13:32I'm very excited and our robot looks really good and strong.

0:13:32 > 0:13:34- Your robot, Jar... Do you mind if I do the honours?- Go for it.

0:13:34 > 0:13:37- Don't hurt him, though.- Nice!

0:13:45 > 0:13:47What are the team tactics? Have you had motivational talks?

0:13:47 > 0:13:50We've got a very, very simple tactic, to be honest,

0:13:50 > 0:13:52and that's try and keep the front towards any other robot and

0:13:52 > 0:13:56- if it comes close enough, whack it with the hammer. - Whack it with the hammer.

0:13:56 > 0:13:58- Yeah.- Sounds simple enough to me. - That's all we've got, yeah.

0:13:58 > 0:14:03- Please, give it up for Jar. - CHEERS AND APPLAUSE

0:14:03 > 0:14:05Suzi Perry, this is the robot you've built.

0:14:05 > 0:14:09- Is it what you dreamed it would be? - Yes. This is my dream robot.- Really?

0:14:09 > 0:14:10Yes, and you'll see why in a minute.

0:14:10 > 0:14:13OK, I want to see now if this is everything you wanted it to be.

0:14:13 > 0:14:15- Ta-da! Look at that!- Ta-da!

0:14:25 > 0:14:28- You know, it's a cat, Dara? - It's a cat. It's got a face on it. A whimsical touch.- I know.

0:14:28 > 0:14:32I wanted to personalise it a little bit, but also, you know what

0:14:32 > 0:14:35cats are like, they're lovely but then they've got a dark side.

0:14:35 > 0:14:38- Yeah.- They can lash out.- They can lash out.- They can be fierce.

0:14:38 > 0:14:41- Yeah, but in an easily batted away way.- But they've got nine lives.

0:14:41 > 0:14:43- This thing looks fearsome, and also sweet.- And sweet!

0:14:43 > 0:14:46But mainly fearsome. But also sweet. It's lovely.

0:14:46 > 0:14:50Ladies and gentlemen, the Cat. Give it up for the Cat. CHEERS AND APPLAUSE

0:14:54 > 0:14:56It's a hammer versus a rear spinner.

0:14:56 > 0:14:59The Brownlee brothers will have to rain down blows to stop their

0:14:59 > 0:15:04opponents spinning up, but one well-timed attack may clinch it for the Cat.

0:15:04 > 0:15:07It's over to Jonathan Pearce to oversee our second battle.

0:15:07 > 0:15:08Thanks, Dara and Angela again.

0:15:08 > 0:15:12Let's meet the robots in our second battle tonight.

0:15:12 > 0:15:14From Cosford, the Cat.

0:15:14 > 0:15:17The Cat is the heaviest robot in tonight's competition.

0:15:17 > 0:15:20Its 30-kilo spinning disc spins at over 150rpm.

0:15:20 > 0:15:23The Cat's weapon is too dangerous to test outside the Robot Wars

0:15:23 > 0:15:25arena, so the first time they use it will be in a, well,

0:15:25 > 0:15:27couple of seconds, actually.

0:15:27 > 0:15:30From Leeds, Jar.

0:15:30 > 0:15:32The Brownlee brothers' robot Jar uses

0:15:32 > 0:15:35a gold 800-PSI pneumatic axe to pummel its opponents.

0:15:35 > 0:15:37Jar has the hardest armour in the competition,

0:15:37 > 0:15:39recycled from one of mentor Dave's old robots.

0:15:39 > 0:15:42The brothers have had remote-control boats, cars and planes,

0:15:42 > 0:15:43but they say they've crashed them all.

0:15:43 > 0:15:45The house robot in for this battle

0:15:45 > 0:15:47you definitely don't want over for Christmas,

0:15:47 > 0:15:51top of the naughty list, it's the crushing claw of Sir Killalot.

0:15:57 > 0:15:59CHEERS AND APPLAUSE

0:15:59 > 0:16:03The teams are in the booth. The time for talk is over.

0:16:03 > 0:16:06OK, here we go. This is it.

0:16:06 > 0:16:08Bring it on!

0:16:09 > 0:16:12Three, two, one.

0:16:12 > 0:16:14Activate!

0:16:14 > 0:16:17Cat on a hot tin roof, all right, the cold arena floor,

0:16:17 > 0:16:21and it can be cold and merciless and lonely out there.

0:16:21 > 0:16:25And trying to get away from that big hammer.

0:16:26 > 0:16:29- Hit it! Hit it!- Go on, Jonny!

0:16:29 > 0:16:32Whack it with the hammer. That's the simple tactic.

0:16:32 > 0:16:36The golden hammer. Down came the Brownlees' golden hammer.

0:16:37 > 0:16:39And the Cat was nearly dead.

0:16:42 > 0:16:45- Is it going, still?- No, I don't think so.- Hit him, hit him quick.

0:16:45 > 0:16:48They are so competitive, the Brownlees, but they're in trouble.

0:16:48 > 0:16:50They're not moving.

0:16:50 > 0:16:52Mind you, the Cat seems to be spinning out of control

0:16:52 > 0:16:55because of that massive horizontal spinner.

0:16:55 > 0:16:58- 30 kilos, that weighs. - KLAXON

0:16:58 > 0:16:59We got them.

0:16:59 > 0:17:01They have got them.

0:17:01 > 0:17:03Not the result the Brownlees wanted.

0:17:03 > 0:17:05Ooh!

0:17:08 > 0:17:11- What's happening?- That's unfair. - It's moving you.

0:17:11 > 0:17:12Destroying him.

0:17:14 > 0:17:16A pinch or two of trouble.

0:17:16 > 0:17:18Wrecking the dream.

0:17:19 > 0:17:22Alistair and Jonny, big fans of Robot Wars.

0:17:22 > 0:17:24They watched it when they were younger.

0:17:24 > 0:17:26They won't want to watch this back.

0:17:28 > 0:17:31- What happened? - Just stopped working, basically.

0:17:31 > 0:17:34A touch of everything seemed to stop working. You both stopped working,

0:17:34 > 0:17:38- but they stopped working, like, a microsecond before you did. - Basically, what happened, I think,

0:17:38 > 0:17:41is our hammer came down and we basically knocked ourselves out.

0:17:41 > 0:17:45- So it's like punching yourself in the face a little bit.- Yeah.

0:17:45 > 0:17:47To be fair, they did get one impact on you,

0:17:47 > 0:17:50which has left shards of metal scattered there.

0:17:50 > 0:17:52I think that was after we stopped, though.

0:17:52 > 0:17:55Hey. You're already immobile.

0:17:55 > 0:18:00They were cheating. I think the judges should look at that again.

0:18:00 > 0:18:04They got hammered by themselves. And we couldn't stop spinning around.

0:18:04 > 0:18:07- Was that your clever tactic? - The energy just didn't come out of

0:18:07 > 0:18:10it at all. And he was just going round and round and round.

0:18:10 > 0:18:14- I'm going, "Come on!"- I know.- "Let's get in there!" And he's like, "I can't, we're going round!"

0:18:14 > 0:18:17It did look like you were being haughty in some way, arrogant.

0:18:17 > 0:18:21- Spinning away from us.- Bring it on! - Salsa-ing around!

0:18:21 > 0:18:23We are the winners! You're the losers!

0:18:23 > 0:18:26And just keep doing this. At the end of that, the points went to the Cat.

0:18:26 > 0:18:29CHEERS AND APPLAUSE

0:18:29 > 0:18:32Really difficult decision here.

0:18:32 > 0:18:35The Cat, stealth-like, came in, attacking the Jar.

0:18:35 > 0:18:40Jar just was going for it and then... And then what?

0:18:40 > 0:18:45We couldn't tell if it was actually immobilised or bad driving.

0:18:45 > 0:18:49But after a while, we decided it was actually immobilised.

0:18:49 > 0:18:53So, Jar returned pointless, but with a new plan for the next battle.

0:18:53 > 0:18:56You know, we know we've got the problems - how are we going

0:18:56 > 0:18:58to sort it out before the next fight?

0:18:58 > 0:19:01So, the plan, moving forward, is to get the drive working and then what

0:19:01 > 0:19:06we're going to do is we're going to turn the hammer down a bit...

0:19:06 > 0:19:10- Yeah, a bit too powerful, we think. - So, what we need to do is just take it back a bit.

0:19:10 > 0:19:14- We still want the hammer to be able to go through things, don't we?- Definitely.

0:19:14 > 0:19:15- I think it'll be good.- OK.

0:19:15 > 0:19:19- All right, let's get busy. - Bring on the next fight.- Let's go.

0:19:19 > 0:19:23So, after two fights, how does the leaderboard look?

0:19:23 > 0:19:24At the top of the table,

0:19:24 > 0:19:28it's Scott Mills and Suzi Perry level with three points.

0:19:28 > 0:19:31And in joint last place with no points,

0:19:31 > 0:19:33Dr Maggie and the Brownlee brothers.

0:19:33 > 0:19:37Our next fight is Arena Cleaner versus the Cat.

0:19:37 > 0:19:40Scott Mills, whose robot emerged unscathed from the last fight,

0:19:40 > 0:19:42has designs on the house robots.

0:19:42 > 0:19:45You know, Chris is like, "Let's try and take out a house robot."

0:19:45 > 0:19:49- Do you think we're running before we can walk here a little bit?- Yeah.

0:19:49 > 0:19:51He's going to have to be on his game.

0:19:51 > 0:19:54I'm going to have a word. Leave it with me.

0:19:54 > 0:19:58It won't be the first time a team has attempted to topple the house robots.

0:19:58 > 0:20:01Champions Apollo made a name for themselves by taking on three

0:20:01 > 0:20:03out of the four Guardians of the Arena.

0:20:08 > 0:20:10How dare you!

0:20:10 > 0:20:15Meanwhile, he's got to stay away from any damage Storm II can cause.

0:20:15 > 0:20:18Pushed on to Matilda. Were they going to flip Matilda?

0:20:18 > 0:20:21I think they were. I think they got too confident there.

0:20:21 > 0:20:24Oh, they've done it!

0:20:24 > 0:20:26A KO blow for the second time!

0:20:26 > 0:20:30They've taken just about everyone out!

0:20:30 > 0:20:34This is what they did when they met earlier on and this is where...

0:20:34 > 0:20:36Maybe he can get his revenge now!

0:20:36 > 0:20:39Again, a house robot has been flipped!

0:20:39 > 0:20:43For the third time in the night, Apollo flips a house robot!

0:20:43 > 0:20:45Over goes Shunt.

0:20:48 > 0:20:51So, look out, house robots, in this spinner against spinner battle.

0:20:51 > 0:20:53These two could cancel each other out, if not driven well,

0:20:53 > 0:20:56but the winner here will take a commanding lead on our scoreboard.

0:20:56 > 0:21:00Our driving in the arena is going to have to be sharp, it's going to have to be focused,

0:21:00 > 0:21:03and Chris is going to have to put all of his attention on it.

0:21:03 > 0:21:05It's going to take a lot of concentration.

0:21:05 > 0:21:07I think we have a very sturdy robot. It's quite robust.

0:21:07 > 0:21:10The one thing I'm worried about is the wheels stick out.

0:21:10 > 0:21:13If someone gets one of those, then it's game over.

0:21:13 > 0:21:17Got to be honest, I haven't won that much in my life, so to win Robot Wars would be pretty cool.

0:21:17 > 0:21:20I will be telling people that forever.

0:21:20 > 0:21:22CHEERS AND APPLAUSE

0:21:23 > 0:21:25Two giant spinners.

0:21:25 > 0:21:27I have a feeling this battle will end in tears.

0:21:27 > 0:21:30I wouldn't want to be in the corner control zone for this match.

0:21:30 > 0:21:33It appears that Shunt has drawn the short straw.

0:21:33 > 0:21:36Let's hope his toughened steel scoop is up to the job.

0:21:36 > 0:21:40Roboteers, stand by.

0:21:40 > 0:21:43CHEERS AND APPLAUSE

0:21:44 > 0:21:47Best two robots we've seen so far.

0:21:47 > 0:21:48We know what they're planning.

0:21:50 > 0:21:52- I don't like this.- Spin. ..Two, one.

0:21:55 > 0:21:57Activate!

0:21:57 > 0:21:59Dallas has all the theory, that's if it works.

0:22:01 > 0:22:06At the moment, they dodge that weaponry, the big bar spinner.

0:22:06 > 0:22:08And the Cat is moving stealthily.

0:22:10 > 0:22:12Calm.

0:22:12 > 0:22:15Ooh! And Arena Cleaner gets bashed against the side wall and

0:22:15 > 0:22:17loses a wheel!

0:22:17 > 0:22:22Brilliant battle! Arena Cleaner is taken to the cleaners!

0:22:24 > 0:22:25I can't believe it!

0:22:27 > 0:22:30The Cat's horizontal disc spinner causing all the trouble.

0:22:30 > 0:22:35At 1,200rpm, the heaviest spinner in the competition

0:22:35 > 0:22:38has the most energy.

0:22:40 > 0:22:42- Yes!- Oh, no!

0:22:44 > 0:22:49And Scott Mills and Chris Stark in real peril.

0:22:49 > 0:22:50- Nightmare.- Wow!

0:22:50 > 0:22:52That is vicious!

0:22:52 > 0:22:54Top of the charts, I don't think so.

0:22:54 > 0:22:57- KLAXON - The Cat purrs.

0:22:59 > 0:23:01Come on!

0:23:04 > 0:23:07Don't leave me hanging! Don't leave me hanging!

0:23:07 > 0:23:10Well, we had a theory that Arena Cleaner would be the strongest.

0:23:10 > 0:23:12Bang goes the theory, Dallas would say!

0:23:16 > 0:23:19No! That's unnecessary!

0:23:19 > 0:23:22- No!- That's unnecessary.- Argh!

0:23:22 > 0:23:27Oh, it is necessary. No, no, no, Scott. It is necessary. We love it.

0:23:27 > 0:23:29We like to see the carnage.

0:23:29 > 0:23:31Carnage at Christmas time

0:23:31 > 0:23:33in the Robot Wars arena.

0:23:33 > 0:23:35It's a festive special.

0:23:38 > 0:23:42Two of the biggest spinners we've ever seen on Robot Wars.

0:23:42 > 0:23:44We knew sparks would fly.

0:23:44 > 0:23:46And they lit up the arena

0:23:46 > 0:23:50with brute force and destruction on Arena Cleaner.

0:23:52 > 0:23:54Guys, I mean, this is a different feel.

0:23:54 > 0:23:57The last time, it was like a childhood dream realised,

0:23:57 > 0:23:58you were on top of the world.

0:23:58 > 0:24:01Just watching the Arena Cleaner being stretchered off.

0:24:01 > 0:24:03The Arena Cleaner is being cleaned up.

0:24:03 > 0:24:07- I don't like it when she's injured. - I think we gave it to them.

0:24:07 > 0:24:10- They can talk about skill. - Thank you!

0:24:10 > 0:24:13And talk about this wonderful driving ability.

0:24:13 > 0:24:16To be honest with you, they're not very good at driving the robot.

0:24:16 > 0:24:17We're really not!

0:24:17 > 0:24:19I mean, evidently, a little better than you,

0:24:19 > 0:24:23- if you don't mind me saying. - LAUGHTER

0:24:23 > 0:24:27Oh, lads. I don't know what to say. You hug it out there, get in there.

0:24:27 > 0:24:30Group hug, all round. Another three points for you.

0:24:30 > 0:24:33- Top of the leaderboard. - Are we top of the board?

0:24:33 > 0:24:36CHEERS AND APPLAUSE

0:24:37 > 0:24:40Two lives down. Still got seven left!

0:24:40 > 0:24:45Victorious Cat returns to the pits to inspect the damage.

0:24:47 > 0:24:52The thing that's worried me is that they've hit the centre of the shaft.

0:24:52 > 0:24:54It's only the lightest little nick.

0:24:54 > 0:24:56Do you reckon that's going to affect us?

0:24:56 > 0:24:59You can see the damage on the steel, here, just little bits.

0:24:59 > 0:25:02And there's a chunk gone out of here.

0:25:02 > 0:25:06Meanwhile, Scott Mills has literally been picking up the pieces,

0:25:06 > 0:25:09and there's more bad news to come.

0:25:09 > 0:25:13We've got like a bit of a souvenir of our latest battle.

0:25:13 > 0:25:17It didn't go to plan at all. And we did have a plan.

0:25:17 > 0:25:20When they've hit the wheel, not only has the wheel completely

0:25:20 > 0:25:23- disintegrated, but the motor's now like a banana shape.- Right.

0:25:23 > 0:25:26- That's not good.- That's not good.- So that needs to be a whole new one.

0:25:26 > 0:25:29- Yeah. - What do we have to do? Bribe someone else?- They've got the same motors.

0:25:29 > 0:25:34- We could just pinch one of theirs. - I think we'll be disqualified.- Yeah. - So, new motor from somewhere.- Yeah.

0:25:34 > 0:25:37Do you want me to go and help find one, or...?

0:25:37 > 0:25:39You can ask around, see if there's anyone with a spare.

0:25:39 > 0:25:41All right. Yeah.

0:25:41 > 0:25:44- Shall we go and do that?- OK.

0:25:44 > 0:25:47With the full six points to Team Cat,

0:25:47 > 0:25:49this is where we stand on our leaderboard.

0:25:49 > 0:25:52At the top of the table, Suzi Perry has six points.

0:25:52 > 0:25:55Next, Scott Mills on three. And with a fight in hand,

0:25:55 > 0:25:59it's the Brownlee brothers and Dr Maggie on no points.

0:25:59 > 0:26:01Our next fight is between Dr Maggie's team,

0:26:01 > 0:26:05Interstellar MML, and the Brownlee brothers' Team Jar.

0:26:05 > 0:26:08But it's been a tough rebuild for Shane and Dr Maggie.

0:26:08 > 0:26:10Unfortunately, Arena Cleaner caused us quite

0:26:10 > 0:26:12a bit of damage on the side.

0:26:12 > 0:26:15Shane has done a fantastic job, cutting out the...

0:26:15 > 0:26:17Because if we don't cut out the bent bits, our flipper won't flip.

0:26:17 > 0:26:20So we've got to get rid of those. It leaves us vulnerable.

0:26:20 > 0:26:24Shane's cut those out and cut out these bits of toughened steel.

0:26:24 > 0:26:25We're going to weld those in place.

0:26:25 > 0:26:27Shane's going to weld those in place!

0:26:27 > 0:26:30We're going to take it in turns.

0:26:30 > 0:26:33We'll see! You'll know which the weak side is.

0:26:36 > 0:26:38- Will that keep that in? - It'll have to do.

0:26:38 > 0:26:41- Right. Doesn't look pretty, but it'll do the job.- No, that's right.

0:26:41 > 0:26:44- You don't have to look pretty when you go to war.- No!

0:26:44 > 0:26:48The Brownlees are hoping their reconfigured attacking hammer

0:26:48 > 0:26:49will now do the job.

0:26:49 > 0:26:52So, next time, we'll have to really limit the hammer.

0:26:52 > 0:26:56- Only when we're going to hit something, not the floor.- Yeah.

0:26:56 > 0:26:59It wasn't that. Do you know what? That's the way it goes, isn't it?

0:26:59 > 0:27:03And the hammer blow, it might do it again.

0:27:03 > 0:27:05In which case, it's way too powerful.

0:27:05 > 0:27:08We might need to turn it down a bit and we can actually turn the

0:27:08 > 0:27:12- reg down to give us less force. - So, a battle of two teams,

0:27:12 > 0:27:15both desperately in need of points to stay in the competition.

0:27:15 > 0:27:20But can they overcome mechanical issues to get the job done?

0:27:20 > 0:27:23The robot design is wonderful, but I do have a few fears for it.

0:27:23 > 0:27:26If the flipper gets bent at the front, then it'll be scraping

0:27:26 > 0:27:31on the ground and also it won't be able to get underneath other robots.

0:27:31 > 0:27:34I was looking at the robot as well and the flipper is very wide,

0:27:34 > 0:27:36which is great for me, cos that means

0:27:36 > 0:27:41no matter what angle I go, I can actually get another robot on top.

0:27:41 > 0:27:42But it's very snug to the sides.

0:27:42 > 0:27:46If I get a side impact, I think the flipper could get stuck, wedged

0:27:46 > 0:27:49between the two sides of the robot, so that makes me slightly worried.

0:27:49 > 0:27:52We need to get out there and we need to get aggressive.

0:27:52 > 0:27:55We need to get under as many robots as possible and flip them.

0:27:55 > 0:27:59This is going to be carnage. I want to get out there and I want to win.

0:28:02 > 0:28:05CHEERS AND APPLAUSE

0:28:06 > 0:28:09In the arena for our fourth battle tonight, with 2.5 tonnes of

0:28:09 > 0:28:13flip, it's my favourite little stocking filler, Matilda.

0:28:20 > 0:28:23Interstellar with that onboard camera.

0:28:23 > 0:28:26Dr Maggie hoping to get some advantage here.

0:28:30 > 0:28:32Roboteers, stand by.

0:28:35 > 0:28:40Three, two, one.

0:28:40 > 0:28:42Activate!

0:28:42 > 0:28:45Can Interstellar banish the bent bits?

0:28:45 > 0:28:49Has that adjustment to the hammer worked for Jar bot? Down it came.

0:28:49 > 0:28:51It hits the arena floor.

0:28:51 > 0:28:54If it hits the opponent, you can be sure of causing damage,

0:28:54 > 0:28:57but if you miss, it's likely to throw itself into the air.

0:28:57 > 0:28:59There comes the flipper of Interstellar.

0:29:02 > 0:29:05Nearly throwing itself over there, Jar bot.

0:29:05 > 0:29:06Difficult to control.

0:29:09 > 0:29:10They're side by side.

0:29:12 > 0:29:15Glancing blow. Finds itself on the Flame Pit.

0:29:15 > 0:29:18Unwise.

0:29:18 > 0:29:19- Hit it again!- It's gone.

0:29:19 > 0:29:21- Has he gone? Go on.- No.

0:29:23 > 0:29:26- Ram them. You can ram them. - Brownlees discussing things.

0:29:26 > 0:29:29They wanted a cluster box, so they could double-team,

0:29:29 > 0:29:31like they do when competing in a team triathlon.

0:29:31 > 0:29:35Mentor Gabriel advised them against it. What's his advice now?

0:29:35 > 0:29:37Get off that Flame Pit.

0:29:37 > 0:29:41They're into a corner, but it's not guarded by a house robot.

0:29:41 > 0:29:46All the activity from Jar bot here. They're the aggressive ones.

0:29:46 > 0:29:49We've lost our... You've got no hammer left, I don't think.

0:29:49 > 0:29:52Oh, that's a worry, no more hammer.

0:29:52 > 0:29:54No more CO2.

0:29:54 > 0:29:57You could see it venting there!

0:29:58 > 0:30:01The gas has gone.

0:30:01 > 0:30:05But Interstellar not moving and that means that Matilda can come

0:30:05 > 0:30:07in and have fun.

0:30:10 > 0:30:12In she comes with the tusks.

0:30:12 > 0:30:16Pneumatic flipping tusks, the vertical pink.

0:30:17 > 0:30:19Back, back, back.

0:30:19 > 0:30:23- When I go back, I just spin. - You've lost the wheel.- Yeah.

0:30:23 > 0:30:25So, she's got problems with manoeuvrability.

0:30:25 > 0:30:29They've lost a wheel. You can see it bent and buckled.

0:30:29 > 0:30:31Matilda has a shove.

0:30:31 > 0:30:34When Matilda comes in to dance, you know you're in trouble.

0:30:34 > 0:30:37- Hit him now!- It's a she, actually!

0:30:39 > 0:30:43- Let's get it right. - KLAXON

0:30:43 > 0:30:47I think Jar bot had it right. Goes to the judges.

0:30:47 > 0:30:51They'll decide, judging on control, damage and aggression.

0:30:53 > 0:30:55For me, Jar bot had it.

0:30:55 > 0:31:00That axe is so difficult to control. Just a little glance.

0:31:00 > 0:31:02The flipper of Interstellar not doing any damage.

0:31:02 > 0:31:06They sustained damage, they drove on to the fire.

0:31:06 > 0:31:09More points in Jar bot's favour. But then they suffered that damage.

0:31:11 > 0:31:14That was great. Thank you very, very much. That was fantastic fun!

0:31:14 > 0:31:17Really? You don't think that was good?

0:31:17 > 0:31:20- It's harder than it looks on TV. - It is, isn't it?- Definitely.

0:31:20 > 0:31:23- It is tough. And who was working the weapon this time?- Daddy.

0:31:23 > 0:31:25We didn't quite get under.

0:31:25 > 0:31:30You really have to get a long way under to make it go interstellar.

0:31:30 > 0:31:32- Yes!- Yeah, yeah.

0:31:32 > 0:31:36- But when we do get under, I'm sure we'll be interstellar!- I'm sure.

0:31:36 > 0:31:39At that moment, it will be amazing.

0:31:39 > 0:31:42This one started great, started really, really well,

0:31:42 > 0:31:45and then a minute and a half into it,

0:31:45 > 0:31:49jets of CO2 started appearing from all over the place. What happened?

0:31:49 > 0:31:52We've kind of become experts at hurting ourselves.

0:31:52 > 0:31:56- You have, haven't you? - Cos the hammer comes down so hard, the fittings might not be

0:31:56 > 0:31:59strong enough and I think one of the tubes split or something.

0:31:59 > 0:32:02OK, now, neither of you had any points before this one started.

0:32:02 > 0:32:06No outright winner either, which means it goes to a judges' decision.

0:32:06 > 0:32:08The judges' decision was unanimous.

0:32:08 > 0:32:12And the winner of the fight and those two points is...

0:32:13 > 0:32:16..Jar, ladies and gentlemen.

0:32:16 > 0:32:18CHEERS AND APPLAUSE

0:32:22 > 0:32:25It's back into repair mode for Maggie,

0:32:25 > 0:32:28who needs to diagnose a problem with their drive.

0:32:28 > 0:32:31We don't actually know what's gone wrong, it could be electrical,

0:32:31 > 0:32:34- we don't know.- Mechanical, electrical. It's hard to tell.

0:32:34 > 0:32:38It could be mechanical on the motor, electrical on the speed controller.

0:32:38 > 0:32:43- Random bits of metal.- Random bits of metal from previous fights.

0:32:43 > 0:32:45Shall we make a key ring out of them?

0:32:46 > 0:32:50With a victory under their belts, Team Jar's next fight is crucial,

0:32:50 > 0:32:54but their constant damage and repairs have worrying repercussions.

0:32:54 > 0:32:58We have hardly any parts. We are running out of everything.

0:32:58 > 0:33:01We've gone through all the electrics that we have,

0:33:01 > 0:33:04we've replaced all the receivers. And that was one thing.

0:33:04 > 0:33:06This is the second time we've broken this bit.

0:33:06 > 0:33:09Remember the first time we went through it, and now we've done

0:33:09 > 0:33:10it again.

0:33:10 > 0:33:14- So, this is our last time. If we break this again...- Really?

0:33:14 > 0:33:16I don't think there's any other parts.

0:33:16 > 0:33:20- Oh, wow!- I've stripped these out of another robot.- Wow!

0:33:20 > 0:33:21So, we've actually pilfered these.

0:33:21 > 0:33:24- We need to be careful with this hammer.- OK.- We need to be careful.

0:33:24 > 0:33:27- So, Jonny, hammer control. - I need to be more conservative with the hammer.

0:33:27 > 0:33:29I was a little bit trigger-happy in the last round,

0:33:29 > 0:33:33but I'm going to wait for the big hit and go for it.

0:33:33 > 0:33:36That victory to the Brownlee brothers now means the

0:33:36 > 0:33:37leaderboard looks like this.

0:33:37 > 0:33:40Suzi Perry's still at the top on six points.

0:33:40 > 0:33:43Next, it's Scott Mills on three, then the Brownlee brothers move

0:33:43 > 0:33:48up to two points, and in last place, it's Dr Maggie on zero points.

0:33:48 > 0:33:51Next up, it's Dr Maggie and her team's last chance to score

0:33:51 > 0:33:53some points.

0:33:53 > 0:33:57For league leaders Suzi and Dallas, with six points on the board,

0:33:57 > 0:33:59it feels like everything's falling into place.

0:33:59 > 0:34:01I think we're in tune with each other

0:34:01 > 0:34:05a bit more now in what we're doing, as a team it's working really well.

0:34:05 > 0:34:09In that game, Craig said, "Stop panicking, calm down."

0:34:09 > 0:34:14Last time Interstellar met a spinner, they ended up seeing stars.

0:34:14 > 0:34:17Team Cat are desperate to maintain their winning streak and

0:34:17 > 0:34:19place in the final.

0:34:19 > 0:34:23All they have to do is beat bottom- of-the-table Interstellar MML.

0:34:23 > 0:34:26Our weapon will spin at about 140mph, full pelt.

0:34:26 > 0:34:31So you don't want to get in the way of that, which is brilliant.

0:34:31 > 0:34:34But if we get flipped, we won't be able to push anybody around,

0:34:34 > 0:34:36our wheels won't be on the floor,

0:34:36 > 0:34:40we'll get hoofed out of the arena, and it'll be over for the Cat.

0:34:40 > 0:34:44However, I like to think that cats always land on their feet,

0:34:44 > 0:34:47so hopefully, if we get flipped, we'll do a 360.

0:34:47 > 0:34:50It'd be a novel experience if I won, cos I've never won anything

0:34:50 > 0:34:54- in my life. - CHEERS AND APPLAUSE

0:34:55 > 0:35:00And in the CPZ for battle five, hide the sherry or he'll be Sir Hitalot.

0:35:00 > 0:35:03It's the caterpillar-track terror, Sir Killalot.

0:35:06 > 0:35:09Suzi and Dallas look like the cat that's got the cream right now.

0:35:09 > 0:35:13Three, two, one.

0:35:13 > 0:35:15Activate!

0:35:16 > 0:35:21The yellow machine getting away from that Interstellar flipper.

0:35:21 > 0:35:24Needs to get right under the opponent to launch...

0:35:24 > 0:35:27Oh, the Cat got too close there

0:35:27 > 0:35:29to Sir Killalot!

0:35:32 > 0:35:34- I think...- Stop, stop, stop.

0:35:34 > 0:35:38- It's stopped. - There's nothing going on.- Stop.

0:35:38 > 0:35:41Well, were they too confident? They went into Sir Killalot's

0:35:41 > 0:35:46territory and they are out of this one.

0:35:48 > 0:35:50- Oh, I didn't get to flip anybody! - Sorry.

0:35:50 > 0:35:51What happened?!

0:35:57 > 0:36:00- That's not fair.- I know. Don't break the robot!

0:36:03 > 0:36:06CHEERS AND APPLAUSE

0:36:09 > 0:36:11He's not sorry at all.

0:36:11 > 0:36:13Laughter and tears.

0:36:13 > 0:36:16What a win for Interstellar.

0:36:16 > 0:36:18That's where it went wrong for the Cat.

0:36:18 > 0:36:21They got too close to the claws of Sir Killalot.

0:36:21 > 0:36:24Great team, Maggie. And Martin and little Lauren.

0:36:24 > 0:36:27Ha-ha!

0:36:27 > 0:36:29Clocking in at 29 seconds,

0:36:29 > 0:36:33that was one of Robot Wars' quickest battles, but sometimes,

0:36:33 > 0:36:37the shortest ones are the sweetest, as mentor Shane will remember

0:36:37 > 0:36:42when he despatched the legendary wooden robot Overdozer last series.

0:36:42 > 0:36:44..Two, one.

0:36:44 > 0:36:46Activate!

0:37:01 > 0:37:03We've lost drive, that's it.

0:37:21 > 0:37:23Ooh!

0:37:35 > 0:37:36Back with our battling stars,

0:37:36 > 0:37:40Maggie's brilliant career in science and technology sadly wasn't

0:37:40 > 0:37:44enough to get Team Interstellar MML past those brutal spinners.

0:37:44 > 0:37:46They're now out of the competition,

0:37:46 > 0:37:48but they seem to have caught the Robot Wars bug.

0:37:48 > 0:37:52The bit I really enjoyed today was trying to put it back together, cos it was fantastic.

0:37:52 > 0:37:55Begging and borrowing bits from here and there.

0:37:55 > 0:37:57And actually getting it up and running again.

0:37:57 > 0:37:59And it got up and running again and it did a great job,

0:37:59 > 0:38:01especially in the final battle.

0:38:01 > 0:38:03So, it's just been a fantastic day for me.

0:38:03 > 0:38:09- How about you guys?- I liked it. I loved it.- You loved it?

0:38:09 > 0:38:13Are you going to do some engineering? Yeah!

0:38:13 > 0:38:16Team Cat may now have a place in the final,

0:38:16 > 0:38:19but Suzi's discovering the damage following their fight with

0:38:19 > 0:38:23house robot Sir Killalot is worse than expected.

0:38:23 > 0:38:26Ho-ho! That Cat's got too close there

0:38:26 > 0:38:28to Sir Killalot!

0:38:28 > 0:38:31- What's come off?- The belt.- The belt.

0:38:31 > 0:38:34- The belt?- Yeah. Needs to be pushed back, that's why it's...

0:38:42 > 0:38:46We're at that point where we're just hitting it with a hammer.

0:38:46 > 0:38:49- HAMMER CLANGS - It's not going, is it?

0:38:49 > 0:38:52If Team Cat can't repair their robot in time for the final,

0:38:52 > 0:38:54they'll forfeit their place.

0:38:54 > 0:38:58So the pressure is on to get the Cat back into fighting shape.

0:38:58 > 0:39:01If they can, they'll meet the winner of the next fight,

0:39:01 > 0:39:05so it's all to play for between Arena Cleaner and Jar.

0:39:06 > 0:39:08Trying to secure their place in the final,

0:39:08 > 0:39:13Scott Mills is getting his hands dirty-ish with robot repairs.

0:39:13 > 0:39:17- Dave, I've got a new motor!- Oh, good work.- Is this the one you wanted?

0:39:17 > 0:39:19- Absolutely, yeah. - I knew it would be.

0:39:19 > 0:39:21- Do you know where to put it?- No.

0:39:21 > 0:39:25- OK.- I'll just leave it here. - Yeah, we'll sort that out.

0:39:25 > 0:39:27Cheers, thank you.

0:39:27 > 0:39:28I haven't...

0:39:28 > 0:39:33I didn't necessarily source that myself, but there's a nice man

0:39:33 > 0:39:36over there who said, "Got a present for you, lads, if you want one."

0:39:36 > 0:39:38- Oh, bang on. - So, is that good?- Yeah, yeah.

0:39:38 > 0:39:39OK.

0:39:39 > 0:39:43The Brownlee brothers have also had to be adept and creative in

0:39:43 > 0:39:46their repairs to get the hammer back to working order,

0:39:46 > 0:39:50in the knowledge that a victory now could make it all worthwhile.

0:39:50 > 0:39:52We've broken this part and replaced it.

0:39:52 > 0:39:54We've broken this part and replaced it.

0:39:54 > 0:39:56And now, we've broken this part and we've replaced it.

0:39:56 > 0:40:00And now, this is now fixed, so I'll put it together for the final

0:40:00 > 0:40:03time and then we'll be working and fully functioning.

0:40:03 > 0:40:05And it's all or nothing now.

0:40:05 > 0:40:08We've got to win this next one to stay in the competition and

0:40:08 > 0:40:11try and get to the final, so, yeah, we've just got to do what we can.

0:40:11 > 0:40:14CHEERS AND APPLAUSE

0:40:14 > 0:40:17I'm here with the Brownlee brothers and I'm going to put it in

0:40:17 > 0:40:19terms you understand - this is the final push now.

0:40:19 > 0:40:21I mean, how much do you normally hold back for that last run?

0:40:21 > 0:40:24Well, for us, normally, the run's the most important,

0:40:24 > 0:40:28so obviously, you're holding back quite a lot. The run's where you can win the race,

0:40:28 > 0:40:31so the swim and the bike are about setting you up to win that race.

0:40:31 > 0:40:33And this is absolutely what's happened here, because it is

0:40:33 > 0:40:36a winner-takes-all - all being the chance to go up against

0:40:36 > 0:40:38Suzi Perry and that destructor of a thing.

0:40:38 > 0:40:42OK, that's Jar and these are the Brownlee brothers.

0:40:42 > 0:40:44CHEERS AND APPLAUSE

0:40:47 > 0:40:48You look a little bit terrified.

0:40:48 > 0:40:52- We just had to go outside and have a talk.- Did you?

0:40:52 > 0:40:55- Did you have to knock a bit of sense into them?- Come on! Stop being so negative! We can do this!

0:40:55 > 0:40:59He was like, "We're not going to win." I was like, "Come on, Chris." But he's good now, he's good.

0:40:59 > 0:41:03I think we're good now. We're in a good place. We know what we've got to do to make the final.

0:41:03 > 0:41:07- We've just got to beat two of the UK's finest athletes.- I mean, easy.

0:41:07 > 0:41:09- Easy.- Theirs has been falling apart quite a bit,

0:41:09 > 0:41:12- so hopefully that happens again. - Good trash talk there.

0:41:12 > 0:41:15- Don't hear that much.- We're ready.

0:41:15 > 0:41:18OK, please, give it up for Scott and Chris.

0:41:18 > 0:41:20CHEERS AND APPLAUSE

0:41:22 > 0:41:24In the CPZ for battle six, it's Shunt.

0:41:24 > 0:41:26Jar need a win here to get into the final.

0:41:29 > 0:41:32Roboteers, stand by.

0:41:33 > 0:41:35The Brownlees don't do losing.

0:41:35 > 0:41:36They simply don't.

0:41:36 > 0:41:39This is your time. You're going to do this.

0:41:39 > 0:41:42Don't let him see the sides.

0:41:42 > 0:41:46Scott and Chris, Real Or No Real, wheel or no wheel.

0:41:46 > 0:41:48Activate!

0:41:48 > 0:41:50Will that tyre hold up, I wonder?

0:41:54 > 0:41:57Well, the wheel is not moving on one side freely.

0:41:57 > 0:41:59That will limit their mobility,

0:41:59 > 0:42:03but they've got the big spinning disc into play.

0:42:03 > 0:42:05Jar, patched up, is in trouble!

0:42:05 > 0:42:08Quick, he's going to come over.

0:42:08 > 0:42:11Run it again.

0:42:11 > 0:42:12KLAXON

0:42:12 > 0:42:14Oh, yes!

0:42:14 > 0:42:19Jar immobilised right from the start. I think one hit did it.

0:42:22 > 0:42:25You've done him. Go for him.

0:42:25 > 0:42:28I wouldn't take on the house robots, boys!

0:42:32 > 0:42:38Mighty power in this blade, and that one attack just stopped Jar bot

0:42:38 > 0:42:40in its tracks.

0:42:40 > 0:42:45Shreds of metal and sparks, but that... Oh, my goodness me!

0:42:45 > 0:42:48Look at the damage to Shunt's blade!

0:42:48 > 0:42:52So, Team Arena Cleaner scoop up the points and earn themselves

0:42:52 > 0:42:53a place in the grand final.

0:42:53 > 0:42:55Sadly, for our world-beating athletes,

0:42:55 > 0:42:59the brilliant Brownlee brothers, it wasn't to be and they join

0:42:59 > 0:43:03the amazing Maggie and Team Interstellar MML as our runners-up.

0:43:03 > 0:43:07Team Arena Cleaner now need to prepare themselves.

0:43:07 > 0:43:10However, attacking the house robots in their last fight may well

0:43:10 > 0:43:11come back to haunt them.

0:43:11 > 0:43:14It's good cos there's no damage from the last one, right?

0:43:14 > 0:43:15So, we're going in good, yeah.

0:43:15 > 0:43:19I do feel the house robots might be after us slightly more now.

0:43:19 > 0:43:20I think maybe that is true.

0:43:20 > 0:43:23- Cos you've really annoyed them. - We've annoyed them.

0:43:23 > 0:43:25We've annoyed them, sorry. We've annoyed them, yeah.

0:43:25 > 0:43:28But you were driving, so...

0:43:28 > 0:43:31And they won't be the first team to feel the sharp end of the

0:43:31 > 0:43:32house robots.

0:43:40 > 0:43:44There's the horrible pink rear end of Matilda that no-one wants

0:43:44 > 0:43:48to see, even in their wildest dreams, I can tell you!

0:43:48 > 0:43:51And I've had a fair few about Robot Wars!

0:43:51 > 0:43:54It's in DeadMetal's pincers and now the axe can come raining in.

0:43:54 > 0:43:58They try and manoeuvre themselves for a run and another hit.

0:43:58 > 0:44:00All the while, damage being caused.

0:44:05 > 0:44:07Thor is in trouble, needs to get away.

0:44:07 > 0:44:09The house robot's mean swinging axe,

0:44:09 > 0:44:12which has pinned him in and dragged him into his lair.

0:44:14 > 0:44:17You do not want to go into Shunt's lair, believe you me.

0:44:17 > 0:44:19I have been in there.

0:44:25 > 0:44:27Oh, no!

0:44:27 > 0:44:28Surely not, no!

0:44:28 > 0:44:31Not the Flame Pit! Please!

0:44:31 > 0:44:35That's cruel! That's horrible! I tell you what, we love it!

0:44:38 > 0:44:44Onto the tusks of Matilda, poor old Thor. Thor's hammer to no avail.

0:44:44 > 0:44:47And heading for Thor's Valhalla.

0:44:51 > 0:44:55Killalot has Gabriel in its grip.

0:44:55 > 0:44:58And suddenly, it looks like

0:44:58 > 0:45:01a giant white dying swan.

0:45:07 > 0:45:09Ooh, down comes that terrible circular saw!

0:45:09 > 0:45:11Look at the damage there.

0:45:11 > 0:45:17That is 15mm of wear-, abrasion- resistant steel on that front wedge.

0:45:33 > 0:45:35Out goes Thor!

0:45:43 > 0:45:47If that outer skin is punctured, they're in real trouble!

0:45:47 > 0:45:48I'm done.

0:45:48 > 0:45:49Can't move.

0:46:09 > 0:46:13Oh, no, no, no. We don't need this, Matilda.

0:46:13 > 0:46:16Honestly, Matilda, you're a bully.

0:46:16 > 0:46:18You're just a bully.

0:46:23 > 0:46:24Time is up for the teams in the pits.

0:46:24 > 0:46:28They need to get their robots up to the arena, ready to fight.

0:46:28 > 0:46:32And by hook or by crook, Team Cat are ready. Sort of.

0:46:32 > 0:46:36We've had a complete nightmare and we've had to do some big work

0:46:36 > 0:46:41on this, so essentially, all of this shaft in here is completely twisted.

0:46:41 > 0:46:45And the spinner couldn't even move. So, this is what we've done.

0:46:45 > 0:46:48What we've done is we've actually made an incision in this piece of

0:46:48 > 0:46:52seal here, but we couldn't actually weld it, so we just whacked it.

0:46:52 > 0:46:54So, this is a weak spot for us now,

0:46:54 > 0:46:57but there's nothing else we could do in the timeframe that we've got.

0:46:57 > 0:47:00What we need and what we have had so far tonight are the fighting

0:47:00 > 0:47:03- gods on our side in the final.- Yes. - We need a little bit of luck.

0:47:03 > 0:47:06Basically, we've used all the Cat's nine lives up in one go.

0:47:06 > 0:47:10- All of them. We are out of lives here. - CHEERS AND APPLAUSE

0:47:10 > 0:47:13Whilst our finalists were busying themselves for the final,

0:47:13 > 0:47:16Angela and I got a Christmas gift of our own.

0:47:16 > 0:47:20During rehearsals, we got to try our hand at being roboteers.

0:47:20 > 0:47:22It really is a lot harder than it looks.

0:47:22 > 0:47:26Dara here behind the controls of the flipping powerful TR2 and

0:47:26 > 0:47:29Angela behind the controls of Robot Wars legend Behemoth.

0:47:31 > 0:47:33They're smiling now.

0:47:33 > 0:47:35I feel like we should wave.

0:47:35 > 0:47:38Or we could do this, couldn't we?

0:47:38 > 0:47:40Can they walk the Robot Wars walk?

0:47:40 > 0:47:42Boy, they can talk!

0:47:42 > 0:47:44Activate!

0:47:44 > 0:47:47Off to the left-hand side, Dara comes in with TR2.

0:47:50 > 0:47:51Oh, oh, oh, no.

0:47:51 > 0:47:53You have to steer and control, Dara, really.

0:47:53 > 0:47:56- No, I'm terrible at this.- Oh, no!

0:47:56 > 0:47:57Yay!

0:47:57 > 0:48:00- Oh, Dara getting in. - Where's he gone?- I don't know.

0:48:00 > 0:48:03- You lost him on the corner.- How am I supposed to see?- Oh, my God!

0:48:03 > 0:48:05- I retire now. I will retire now.- No, no.

0:48:05 > 0:48:10You're at it again. You're careering wildly. They're amazingly...

0:48:10 > 0:48:15- Oh, stop ramming into the sidewall! - Sorry, I thought that was tyre.

0:48:15 > 0:48:18Drive against the sidewall, Angela!

0:48:18 > 0:48:21Ah, is she trying to release the pit?

0:48:21 > 0:48:23Yes, she does. So that's clever!

0:48:25 > 0:48:28- I'm loving that. That feels good. Wait, wait.- I'm stuck.- You're stuck.

0:48:28 > 0:48:31- You've got to be stuck. Do you want me to get you off there?- Stuck!

0:48:31 > 0:48:34- She certainly is!- I'm doing a spin as if I've won. I haven't won!

0:48:34 > 0:48:35I haven't won!

0:48:35 > 0:48:38But I am spinning!

0:48:38 > 0:48:39What?!

0:48:39 > 0:48:43Are you over? Are you over? You're back in again.

0:48:43 > 0:48:44Oh, down. Back down again.

0:48:44 > 0:48:46Oh-oh-oh-oh.

0:48:48 > 0:48:52- You're supposed to avoid the pits! - OK, it's very delicate.

0:48:52 > 0:48:54- It is really...- No!

0:48:54 > 0:48:56Just stay out of the arena!

0:48:56 > 0:49:01- That would be my advice!- I thought you'd left.- I was just... Oh!

0:49:01 > 0:49:03- I didn't mean to do that. - No, you certainly didn't.

0:49:03 > 0:49:07- Dara!- You did that to yourself.

0:49:07 > 0:49:10Well, Dara certainly didn't do it to her.

0:49:11 > 0:49:13THEY LAUGH

0:49:13 > 0:49:17Shall we just dance past each other, like idiots?

0:49:17 > 0:49:21Oh! That was fantastic!

0:49:21 > 0:49:24That was like a bullfight!

0:49:24 > 0:49:27Not quite. Sort of a lamb fight.

0:49:27 > 0:49:29Oh, now I'm out of gas!

0:49:29 > 0:49:31Dara!

0:49:31 > 0:49:34- I thought we were friends. - We are friends, but outside of here.

0:49:34 > 0:49:37- I need to stop with this game. - Outside here. Oh, you have.

0:49:37 > 0:49:39Do you want to try...? Flip me, go on.

0:49:39 > 0:49:41- I'm trying, dude.- OK.

0:49:41 > 0:49:44- OK, fine.- Wait, wait. - There we go. Oh.- Oh.- Ooh, hello.

0:49:44 > 0:49:47Hey!

0:49:47 > 0:49:51- I flipped you up!- Oh, no. Yeah, I can flip it back down again.

0:49:51 > 0:49:55- Right, OK. - I think they should close the pit.

0:49:55 > 0:49:59- No, it's definitely...- We're still on the clock. It feels like...

0:49:59 > 0:50:04Whatever you do, don't quit the day job.

0:50:04 > 0:50:07That was absolutely pathetic, on my behalf.

0:50:07 > 0:50:08Brilliantly.

0:50:08 > 0:50:11- I was pretty awful. - Oh, my God! My mouth is dry!

0:50:11 > 0:50:14It's, like, the most nerve-racking thing I've ever done.

0:50:14 > 0:50:17- That was quite tense. - That was shockingly difficult.

0:50:17 > 0:50:20- Also, I totally buckled under the pressure.- Yeah.

0:50:20 > 0:50:23We'll do a physical impersonation of how our fight went.

0:50:23 > 0:50:24This is how our fight went.

0:50:26 > 0:50:29- This is how our fight went, like that.- I'm reversing in the hallway.

0:50:29 > 0:50:31I'll get you! I'll get you in a minute!

0:50:31 > 0:50:33Any minute now!

0:50:33 > 0:50:36- That was dreadful.- That was pretty much it.- Yeah, that was awful.

0:50:36 > 0:50:40- I mean...- Oh, I love it! I want to do it again and again and again!

0:50:40 > 0:50:42Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls...

0:50:42 > 0:50:45- I demand a rematch!- ..apologies for what you've just seen.

0:50:45 > 0:50:50Well? There was Dara on the aggressive, Behemoth bouncing.

0:50:51 > 0:50:55108.5 kilograms of bounce.

0:50:55 > 0:50:58Another good attack by Dara.

0:50:58 > 0:51:03I think in main competition, they'd probably last...2.4 seconds.

0:51:06 > 0:51:10And there, a gentlemanly approach to it all.

0:51:12 > 0:51:13Crash.

0:51:13 > 0:51:15So very gentle.

0:51:15 > 0:51:17And not good enough, really.

0:51:17 > 0:51:19But all good fun.

0:51:19 > 0:51:20You'll notice

0:51:20 > 0:51:22I didn't get a try.

0:51:24 > 0:51:26I'd be deadly in there.

0:51:26 > 0:51:28I'd smash and crash.

0:51:31 > 0:51:33Time now for our final.

0:51:36 > 0:51:37Four teams began.

0:51:37 > 0:51:41After six battles and a lot of flying shrapnel and wheels,

0:51:41 > 0:51:46only one can become tonight's Battle Of The Stars Champion.

0:51:46 > 0:51:48Our finalists:

0:51:48 > 0:51:52Radio 1's Scott Mills and Chris Stark

0:51:52 > 0:51:55versus Suzi Perry and Dallas Campbell.

0:51:59 > 0:52:01The Radio 1 team's first fight

0:52:01 > 0:52:04destroyed Interstellar MML's chance of launching

0:52:04 > 0:52:06a winning campaign.

0:52:08 > 0:52:10I'm just trying to calm down.

0:52:10 > 0:52:12It was so crazy in there.

0:52:14 > 0:52:17The Suzi Perry team took on the Brownlee brothers,

0:52:17 > 0:52:20and it was that brutal spinner that came out on top.

0:52:22 > 0:52:23I got a paw to it,

0:52:23 > 0:52:26- but we didn't have a proper catfight.- Yeah.

0:52:28 > 0:52:33When the two big spinners first met, it was first blood to Suzi,

0:52:33 > 0:52:36after punishing Scott and Chris's driving skills...

0:52:40 > 0:52:44..leaving them with a battered and bruised robot.

0:52:44 > 0:52:46It didn't go to plan at all.

0:52:50 > 0:52:53But it was a daring attack on Sir Killalot

0:52:53 > 0:52:55that destroyed Suzi's winning run.

0:52:57 > 0:52:59That's all knackered.

0:52:59 > 0:53:02That wall has completely cracked the gearbox.

0:53:08 > 0:53:10Come on! Come on!

0:53:10 > 0:53:13Next, Scott and Chris took control against the

0:53:13 > 0:53:18Brownlees' golden hammer, before taking on house robot Shunt as well.

0:53:18 > 0:53:20You've broken him.

0:53:22 > 0:53:24So it's all down to this,

0:53:24 > 0:53:27a battle between the two biggest weapons in the competition,

0:53:27 > 0:53:29spinner versus spinner,

0:53:29 > 0:53:33and at stake - the title of champion and the Robot Wars trophy.

0:53:36 > 0:53:39Of battle, they say, to the victor belongs the spoils,

0:53:39 > 0:53:41and it's certainly true in Robot Wars.

0:53:41 > 0:53:44One of our finalists tonight will leave as champions

0:53:44 > 0:53:46and hopefully intact,

0:53:46 > 0:53:48the other, most likely in fragments.

0:53:48 > 0:53:52So one final brutal battle between the Cat and Arena Cleaner

0:53:52 > 0:53:55will decide who becomes our Robot Wars champion.

0:53:55 > 0:53:58Our esteemed MC, as ever, is Jonathan Pearce,

0:53:58 > 0:54:00this time in a Santa hat.

0:54:02 > 0:54:04Our final battle tonight is going to be messy.

0:54:04 > 0:54:07Two of the biggest spinners in Robot Wars' history

0:54:07 > 0:54:09piloted by two novice drivers.

0:54:09 > 0:54:12I'm under the desk as we speak! Braver than me and the CPZ,

0:54:12 > 0:54:16it'll be a Christmas miracle if he survives, it's Sir Killalot.

0:54:16 > 0:54:20CROWD: Three, two, one...

0:54:22 > 0:54:24Off we go.

0:54:24 > 0:54:26Both machines have had damage.

0:54:26 > 0:54:28Both have mighty weapons.

0:54:28 > 0:54:31The Cat's horizontal spinner is the heavier,

0:54:31 > 0:54:34but they've lost a tyre.

0:54:34 > 0:54:36They need now to manoeuvre to get

0:54:36 > 0:54:38themselves out of trouble.

0:54:41 > 0:54:44Scott and Chris have been thinking deeply about this.

0:54:44 > 0:54:47That's always dangerous, to be honest.

0:54:50 > 0:54:51Bang!

0:54:53 > 0:54:56Look at the power of both spinners together!

0:54:56 > 0:54:58Slam! Tyres damaged on both now.

0:55:01 > 0:55:03Patched up, put back in the arena.

0:55:05 > 0:55:06Slam!

0:55:08 > 0:55:10Arena Cleaner the more aggressive

0:55:10 > 0:55:12and the more mobile.

0:55:12 > 0:55:15And coming in slowly,

0:55:15 > 0:55:17in a measured way...

0:55:17 > 0:55:19Go round the other side? Try and get the wheel?

0:55:19 > 0:55:22They're trying to find a weak spot.

0:55:22 > 0:55:24Try and get the wheel...

0:55:25 > 0:55:28Ooh, the Cat's other tyre comes off!

0:55:28 > 0:55:31So they are now at the mercy of Arena Cleaner.

0:55:31 > 0:55:34What a heavyweight battle this has been.

0:55:34 > 0:55:36KLAXON

0:55:36 > 0:55:37Sethu's call.

0:55:37 > 0:55:39Well done, lads.

0:55:39 > 0:55:41You've won. You've won Robot Wars.

0:55:41 > 0:55:44Arena Cleaner has done it.

0:55:44 > 0:55:47They are our Robot Wars celebrity champion.

0:55:47 > 0:55:49Congratulations to them.

0:55:49 > 0:55:51There's a little bit of...

0:55:51 > 0:55:54- Where's it taking it?- ..to tidy up.

0:55:58 > 0:56:02It may seem cruel but, you know, they've been beaten,

0:56:02 > 0:56:05and now Killalot can have fun.

0:56:05 > 0:56:08- Toasted Cat! - Ew...- That's illegal.- Certainly is.

0:56:08 > 0:56:11You are going to go down for that.

0:56:11 > 0:56:12Ohh!

0:56:12 > 0:56:14They've been very good competitors,

0:56:14 > 0:56:16Suzi and the team.

0:56:18 > 0:56:20JONATHAN CHUCKLES

0:56:20 > 0:56:24Throwing a Frisbee. A steep learning curve for Arena Cleaner,

0:56:24 > 0:56:27but they don't seem to have learned to stay away from the house robots.

0:56:27 > 0:56:30Look at this!

0:56:31 > 0:56:35Killalot's memory is long.

0:56:35 > 0:56:40Killalot's evil knows no bounds.

0:56:42 > 0:56:44Scott looks pensive.

0:56:44 > 0:56:46He should be...

0:56:48 > 0:56:53..because Killalot will be merciless.

0:56:53 > 0:56:55I think we're being taught a lesson.

0:56:55 > 0:56:57You're going to get your bottom smacked.

0:56:57 > 0:57:03The champions cheeky, an irritant to Killalot and the house robots.

0:57:03 > 0:57:06And now, quite simply, everyone,

0:57:06 > 0:57:11it is time for Robot Wars' revenge.

0:57:11 > 0:57:14CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:57:19 > 0:57:21Brute force and power,

0:57:21 > 0:57:25and Arena Cleaner came out on top.

0:57:25 > 0:57:30Tyres shredded, the Cat worthy opponents.

0:57:30 > 0:57:32But as Scott Mills would say,

0:57:32 > 0:57:33"Love you! Bye."

0:57:37 > 0:57:41Ah, Suzi and the Cat.

0:57:41 > 0:57:43It was a lot to even get back into the final,

0:57:43 > 0:57:46- a lot of damage to come back from after the last...- So much damage,

0:57:46 > 0:57:48and we didn't think the spinner would work,

0:57:48 > 0:57:50and we were just happy to make the final,

0:57:50 > 0:57:53and, you know, they did great, and they really did deserve to win.

0:57:53 > 0:57:57- Happy to lose to these guys? - No, not happy to lose to them!

0:57:57 > 0:58:01You grudgingly admit they may have deserved to win.

0:58:01 > 0:58:03You won it well in the end.

0:58:03 > 0:58:06- I can't believe we've won.- It... - It's ridiculous.

0:58:06 > 0:58:07You genuinely, really...

0:58:07 > 0:58:09Yeah. This is amazing.

0:58:09 > 0:58:11This is what we hoped would happen but never thought would.

0:58:11 > 0:58:14I'm going to present this to you, and you fully deserve it.

0:58:14 > 0:58:17Our champions, ladies and gentlemen, well done!

0:58:23 > 0:58:26- Thank you so much, and goodnight!- Goodnight.
