:00:15. > :00:22.wanted sunshine. They gave you sunshine. Lisa and Robin are here.
:00:22. > :00:25.You wanted tens, they gave you tens, two tens, it's Lisa and Flavia.

:00:31. > :00:36.rooms, Ian Waite is here, in his Dickie bow. And it's very exciting.
:00:36. > :00:45.We finally get to see our pros go up against each other. I love it.
:00:45. > :00:55.The launch of the Pro Challenge 2012. This is It Takes Two
:00:55. > :01:16.
:01:17. > :01:26.Live, from Television Centre, this is Strictly It Takes Two. Please

:01:37. > :01:38.

:01:52. > :01:56.special dance. We'll be teaching you the Strictly Shimmy. Oh, yes.
:01:56. > :02:00.During the grand final on Saturday, 22nd December, we want all of you
:02:00. > :02:10.up on your feet dancing along at home. Here are Robin and Christ
:02:10. > :02:17.
:02:17. > :02:23.teen with a quick demonstration. -- Shimmy! Oh, thank you, Robin and
:02:23. > :02:33.Christine, very, very nice. You lot ready? Take it away. Five, six,
:02:33. > :02:42.
:02:42. > :02:47.Ladies and gentlemen, our A team. Our runners and our dancers, led by
:02:47. > :02:53.Ian Waite. See, it's easy. You just have over two weeks to perfect the
:02:53. > :02:57.dance at home. All the details with a step-by-step video and all the
:02:57. > :03:02.moves can be found on the Strictly website. We'll readvice the
:03:02. > :03:06.Strictly Shimmy later to see how you are getting on. -- revisit. I
:03:07. > :03:10.can reveal very big news indeed now. For the first time, ever, in
:03:10. > :03:16.Strictly history. There will not be two, not three, but four couples in
:03:16. > :03:23.the final. That's awesome news. And that was
:03:23. > :03:28.Strictly breaking news. Thank you. You were good. You were good. Back
:03:28. > :03:33.to tonight's show. It's fuegs week with our couples tackling two dance
:03:33. > :03:39.styles in one performance. -- fusion. Lisa and Robin will be
:03:39. > :03:42.blending a tango with a cha-cha-cha. But first, here's a quick recap of
:03:42. > :03:47.Saturday's quickstep. What you bring to this show every week is a
:03:47. > :03:52.bit of sunshine. I bet you Eric and Ernie are look down, cheering you
:03:52. > :03:56.on. Well done. Your personality couldn't be more bride. I need a
:03:56. > :04:02.sunshade. Off zest for life it. Comes across in your performances.
:04:02. > :04:10.You had a messy incident before the second Charleston which got you out
:04:10. > :04:16.of sync but the energy is incredible. Sunshine. Sunshine.
:04:16. > :04:20.was like we were a lightbulb flying around the floor. It was a really
:04:20. > :04:30.good feeling. Really overjoyed with the score. I'm a very, very happy
:04:30. > :04:34.girl. Please welcome Lisa and Robin. The
:04:34. > :04:39.brilliance of sunshine. It was awesome on Saturday night. We loved
:04:39. > :04:43.it. Did you enjoy yourself? You looked like you were having a
:04:43. > :04:48.better time than ever. It was brilliant. I loved it too much. I
:04:48. > :04:54.made two whopper mistakes which the judges thankfully didn't see. I'll
:04:54. > :04:58.admit I did. What were they? I just started bouncing on my own, like a
:04:58. > :05:02.little bounce ball. I kept moving at least. That bit there. A little
:05:02. > :05:08.hiccup there, but carried on going. That is the main thing. Everyone is
:05:08. > :05:12.just look at the joy of the dance. We didn't notice. However, was it
:05:12. > :05:15.quite nice actually to have gone from the rumba to a faster-paced
:05:16. > :05:21.dance? Yes. We enjoyed the rumba, but to come back to the rehearsal
:05:21. > :05:25.room to fun, fast, furious choreography and having a ball, it
:05:25. > :05:30.was great. We just hope we brought a ray of sunshine to good old Great
:05:30. > :05:34.Britain on Saturday. You jolly well did. Even Darcey loved it. She said
:05:34. > :05:38.it was absolutely beautiful. Was it good to get her back on side after
:05:38. > :05:42.the week before? Completely. Everyone does like us doing the
:05:42. > :05:47.fast and furious stuff. All dressed in yellow. The panel were gorgeous
:05:47. > :05:54.on the weekend, they really were. Even Bruno saying he wanted
:05:54. > :06:02.sunshades on. We loved it. It was great. Let's talk about the rolly
:06:02. > :06:09.polly moment. It was so good. We have put it in slow motion.
:06:09. > :06:15.tongue is out, I'm concentrating. Oops. She puts the G in graceful.
:06:15. > :06:23.Did you slightly misfire? We'd not practiced in the frock. My back is
:06:23. > :06:28.covered in crystals and satin on the leather. I go for it and whoosh.
:06:28. > :06:33.The thing that made me laugh was, you looked at each other and
:06:33. > :06:38.laughed - did that just happen? are not supposed to laugh but I
:06:38. > :06:42.giggled. You did seem genuinely touched when Len said Eric and
:06:42. > :06:47.Ernie would have approved of your performance. I have watched them
:06:47. > :06:51.since I have four. They were comedic geniuses. For Len to say
:06:51. > :06:56.they were shining down on me, that was the result I wanted, more than
:06:56. > :07:02.any comment. If you lip-read, I said, "Can you believe that
:07:02. > :07:09.comment?" I couldn't believe it. Last week, nobody nue, you two had
:07:09. > :07:12.bad chest infections. You were poorly. -- nobody knew.! The
:07:12. > :07:17.quickstep is so fast. We lost training on Thursday and couldn't
:07:17. > :07:21.do anything on fri. You lose two days. When you dance the quickstep
:07:21. > :07:24.breathing is a problem but half way through the dance I felt I wanted
:07:24. > :07:28.to stop, the oxygen wasn't going in. We got through it. That was the
:07:28. > :07:31.main thing. Everybody seemed to enjoy it. We left very happy that
:07:31. > :07:36.day. You think chest infections is something you have been battling
:07:36. > :07:42.until the training room. Check this for a list of ailments, Lisa Riley.
:07:42. > :07:49.I currently can't feel my legs, my knees, my shins, my calfs, my feet,
:07:49. > :07:53.or the balls of my feet. What if I die. The biggest hypochondriac I
:07:53. > :08:03.have ever met. A splinter in my foot. I thought I broke something.
:08:03. > :08:04.
:08:04. > :08:14.You had a broken toe that healed miraculously. It hasn't even healed.
:08:14. > :08:14.
:08:14. > :08:17.I'm not moaning. I'm in agony with my feet. I've got a bad ankle. Pain,
:08:17. > :08:22.absolute pain. It's like tonsillitis but extreme. That could
:08:22. > :08:28.have blinded me. We have gone from underarm pain to chronic neck pain
:08:28. > :08:37.and spinal pain I even tell you Bmy feet are killing me.
:08:37. > :08:41.-- tell you about. You are a hypocon dry ac. I would get an A-
:08:41. > :08:48.plus for that. It is dance fusion. Which dances are you marrying
:08:48. > :08:52.together? We are doing the tango into the cha-cha. So we have called
:08:52. > :08:56.it the Cha-tango. ! Obviously we are doing our cha-
:08:56. > :09:02.cha, which was our dance number one on the series. One of our
:09:02. > :09:09.favourites. And I love the tango. We are merging them together.
:09:09. > :09:15.have someone special to say happy birthday to. My gorgeous granddad
:09:15. > :09:19.Sam. Happy birthday. I miss you loads and love you. Happy birthday.
:09:19. > :09:23.Good luck. I love granddad Sam. Good luck at the weekend. We know
:09:23. > :09:29.you are going to be brilliant. Lisa and Robin. Robin, you are not
:09:29. > :09:34.allowed to go too far. You are launching the Pro Challenge.
:09:34. > :09:38.Soon Iain will be here with his Wednesday warm-up but first he
:09:38. > :09:45.takes Karen for a trip in the time machine to the 1940s as they reveal
:09:45. > :09:50.all about the jive. It's at the height of the Second
:09:50. > :09:59.World War. America has joined the Allied Forces and American
:09:59. > :10:03.servicemen, the GIs, have arrived in Britain. Howdy, ma'am. It was a
:10:03. > :10:09.bit of a culture shock for the English. The Americans were easy-
:10:09. > :10:15.going. Walked with swagger and brought a whole host of goodies
:10:15. > :10:18.from overseas. But most importantly, introduced
:10:18. > :10:27.brand new styles of dance, the likes of which the British had
:10:27. > :10:33.never seen. Like the jitterbug and the lindy hop. Swing music was the
:10:33. > :10:38.popular music at the time. And the fast tempo meant the dance was
:10:38. > :10:44.quick, energetic and fun. Jive was an expression used by swing
:10:44. > :10:50.musicians to mean foolish or glib. Overtime it was used to describe
:10:50. > :10:56.the dance, too. Eventually "jive" just stuck. The jive is a happy
:10:56. > :11:03.dance with plenty of knee-lifting, bending and swinging of the hips.
:11:03. > :11:10.Flicks, kicks and spins can all be incorporated into the routine.
:11:10. > :11:19.importantly, to dance the jive well, the dancer's feet need to be well-
:11:19. > :11:26.controlled and under the body. When the war was over, the GIs went
:11:26. > :11:30.home. See ya ma'am. Oi, we're not finished yet. Keep dancing. The
:11:30. > :11:36.jive remained and with the birth of rock 'n' roll, its popularity
:11:36. > :11:40.rocketed. In 1968 it was added as one of the five dances in the Latin
:11:40. > :11:50.category. Usually danced last in competitions because of how tiring
:11:50. > :11:52.
:11:52. > :11:58.it can be. A brilliant piece. Welcome the very handsome GI Ian
:11:58. > :12:04.Waite. It can't get any better, and then
:12:04. > :12:09.you put on a uniform. It's fusion week. Could this be the biggest
:12:09. > :12:13.choreography chaltheng show has ever seen? I think it will be more
:12:13. > :12:17.challenging. I'm interesting to seat inane outs of the dance.
:12:17. > :12:21.Whether they'll do the first half one dance and the secretary half
:12:21. > :12:25.the other or whether they'll go in and out? It will be interesting. It
:12:25. > :12:30.probably depends on the music and the intrerpgs. Let's see our
:12:30. > :12:34.couples in training. -- interpretation. Let's see Kimberley
:12:34. > :12:43.and Paddy Ashdownia. They are doing the cha-cha-cha and tango. They
:12:43. > :12:50.have done both before. -- Pasha. She only recently did the tango.
:12:50. > :12:54.She did a spin from a fan there and it was seamless. Absolutely
:12:54. > :12:58.fabulous. But here, I have stopped it here because I want her to
:12:58. > :13:06.straighten her legs a bit more. She just needs to put down in the neegs
:13:06. > :13:11.and snap those legs back. -- knees back. This is the cha-cha-cha.
:13:11. > :13:16.want her to tone that centre. A stronger core will make a faster
:13:16. > :13:20.and more slick cha-cha-cha. She has a seriously toned core. Nick and
:13:20. > :13:24.Karen are doing a samba and American smooth. I think he will
:13:24. > :13:28.come out fighting. How is he looking? Fantastic lift work. He is
:13:28. > :13:33.very good at that. I would just like him to get his shoulders down.
:13:34. > :13:42.I have stopped it here to make three points. One, two, three.
:13:42. > :13:48.they good, or bad? A bit of both. The fist one, shoulders. If he can
:13:48. > :13:53.just get his shoulders down, I would be so happy. Point two a
:13:53. > :13:57.splaid hand on his back. Get fingers together. Tight together in
:13:57. > :14:00.ballroom. Point three is a good point. He's over the right side.
:14:00. > :14:06.They have right front to right front as you can see and you can
:14:06. > :14:10.see it is a very good position. Through the window. I would like
:14:11. > :14:15.him to carry on with this. They are dancing a reverse wave. Then it
:14:15. > :14:19.goes into the samba. This is very clever. Then they are going into
:14:19. > :14:23.the weave of a foxtrot. Obviously they are going in and out of the
:14:23. > :14:29.fusion of the dance, which is very interesting. Ander in fantastic
:14:29. > :14:34.lift there. Very tricky. -- and another. Denise' jives still one of
:14:34. > :14:38.the best of the series so far. Can she quickstep? Well there is a lot
:14:38. > :14:44.of trotting, skipping steps which are very good. Just in certain
:14:44. > :14:49.places, as you can see, if I just draw there, I'd like her to be more
:14:49. > :14:54.in James' right arm so we could see her head here. What we were talking
:14:54. > :15:00.about with Nicky. This is probably a promenade position but she should
:15:00. > :15:03.still be in that place. If I can show you... Feel free. I have to
:15:03. > :15:10.put my right front to your right front, so you are always there. I
:15:10. > :15:20.can always see your face. Here I am, out the window. I never lose you at
:15:20. > :15:20.
:15:20. > :15:26.any point. You see that. Aren't I lucky? I just love to dance. Louis
:15:26. > :15:33.and Flavia are doing an Argentine tangia and rumba. He has the
:15:33. > :15:38.Argentine tangia Queen with him. Surely this will be great. -- tango.
:15:38. > :15:43.It looks good. A lovely attempt. Very expressive arms. A huge
:15:43. > :15:47.wingspan. I'd lick him to use his face more. He did it last week.
:15:47. > :15:51.into the feeling of the dance. It's slightly stepy at the moment. He is
:15:51. > :15:58.not keeping the toes on the floor. He is stepping from one foot to the
:15:58. > :16:03.other. I would like him to keep the toes on the floor. For the rumba.!
:16:03. > :16:07.Got that Louis? His body is quite high. He goes into the hips
:16:07. > :16:13.occasionally but he needs to get more into the hips for a more
:16:13. > :16:18.earthy rumba. Have you got that Louis? Dani and Vincent doing a
:16:18. > :16:24.Charleston and quickstep. Dani hasn't done the Charleston but
:16:24. > :16:28.neither has Vincent. Following on from their great vief, I think this
:16:28. > :16:32.-- jive, I think this will be a better dance for them. They seem
:16:32. > :16:36.better in the Charleston than the quickstep. Controversial. Funny
:16:36. > :16:44.faces and funny lines. For me, I think this week they should be on
:16:44. > :16:48.top. I'm going to give them the winning combinations crown. Shall I
:16:48. > :16:53.give one two? Meaning fusion combination crown. He is putting
:16:53. > :16:58.his money on the table. Finally Lisa and Robin are doing a tango
:16:58. > :17:01.and cha-cha-cha which we touched upon. Everybody loved Lisa's cha-
:17:01. > :17:05.cha-cha. She is great at the tango. Together, is this going to work?
:17:05. > :17:08.think Robin has upped the choreography. It is much more
:17:08. > :17:11.difficult than it was previous. It is going to be move difficult. She
:17:11. > :17:20.has to make sure she's straightening her legs completely,
:17:20. > :17:25.so we are seeing snappy legs. That she has fast feet and sharp
:17:25. > :17:29.transfer of the weight. So it is nice and sharp. Do you see what I
:17:29. > :17:35.mean? Didn't he do well, ladies and gentlemen. Ian Waite.
:17:35. > :17:40.It Takes Two has a history of putting our professional dancers'
:17:40. > :17:45.skills to the test. Last year, Artem won the botofogo world
:17:45. > :17:51.challenge which you may remember brought out all our dancers'
:17:51. > :17:56.competitive sides. Year we are making it harder. This year, it is
:17:56. > :18:00.time to launch the It Takes Two Pro Challenge 2012. This is a Guinness
:18:00. > :18:08.World Record, to set as many kickball changes in 30 seconds as
:18:08. > :18:18.possible. One challenge, one goal - 30 seconds. I'm joined by
:18:18. > :18:18.
:18:18. > :18:21.choreographer to the stars, Richard. And World Records' adjudicator
:18:21. > :18:26.Elizabeth. It is a kick from one leg to the other leg and a back
:18:26. > :18:30.replace. The kick should be in the air and the back replace should go
:18:30. > :18:34.towards the heel or the back of your natural centre. They're really
:18:34. > :18:39.going to have to work hard to remain concentrated and focused.
:18:39. > :18:43.Because the 15 second mark it, can all go horribly wrong. Our dancers,
:18:43. > :18:47.of course, are driven to win. They're going to give it absolutely
:18:47. > :18:51.everything they've got. And they'd better. We will be watching like
:18:51. > :19:01.hawks, darling. Just 30 seconds stands in the way of our pros. The
:19:01. > :19:11.prize - a Guinness World Record. Please welcome our first contender,
:19:11. > :19:15.
:19:15. > :19:19.Come on, Robin. Take a seat. Tense music, this is very serious indeed,
:19:19. > :19:26.Robin. You were unable to take part in last year's challenge, you had a
:19:26. > :19:32.poorly foot I was unwell. I missed it. I did win the year before.
:19:32. > :19:37.will remind you of that, Vincent. How eager were you to take part?
:19:37. > :19:41.Botofogos, last year, one of my favourites, I was gutted I missed
:19:41. > :19:45.it. But I had to do kickball changes. How many do you think you
:19:45. > :19:50.have done in a rebefore the world record-breaking attempt? About four.
:19:50. > :19:56.-- in a row before. Really? I imagine you hang out
:19:56. > :20:04.backstage doing them. Shall we see how you got on? OK. Time to see how
:20:04. > :20:08.Robin Zgood luck. -- Robin did. excited for the Pro Challenge. I'm
:20:08. > :20:13.expecting the first 15 seconds to be great. The next 10 to be
:20:13. > :20:18.excruciating and the last five, the worst pain I've ever experienced.
:20:18. > :20:24.Robin, welcome. Do you think you can win this challenge? I'll give
:20:24. > :20:28.it my best shot. Take to the floor. Adjudicator ready. Ready.
:20:28. > :20:38.Choreographer to the stars, are you ready, Richard? So ready. Three,
:20:38. > :21:10.
:21:10. > :21:17.Five, four, three, two, one! Stop. Arrrrghhhh! Style went out the
:21:17. > :21:24.window. I noticed you were cupping your pec muscles. They bounce.
:21:24. > :21:29.gave it a good go. You did well. Robin, you may recover and leave
:21:29. > :21:34.the floor. Well done. physically exhausted. We danced for
:21:34. > :21:39.a minute-and-a-half in our numbers. I'm never out of breath. Fik be the
:21:39. > :21:45.next record holder, it would be incredible. It is a tough
:21:45. > :21:48.competition, those pros are all very good. Robin, you did look
:21:48. > :21:53.shattered. Was it harder than you thought? It was killing. After
:21:53. > :22:00.about 15 seconds my legs were on fire, just burning. What about the
:22:00. > :22:06.pecs, did they recover from all the bounce sth Still sore. After each -
:22:06. > :22:11.- all the bounce? Richard Marcel, choreographer to
:22:11. > :22:16.the stars and world record adjudicator, in the school uniform,
:22:16. > :22:23.watched the performances to verify every one. It was all about
:22:23. > :22:28.accuracy. How many do you think you managed? No idea. It felt like I
:22:28. > :22:33.did about a million. It might be slightly under a million, darling.
:22:33. > :22:43.I don't know how many qualified. Robin, your kickball changes have
:22:43. > :22:50.
:22:50. > :22:54.been counted and verified. I can reveal that you performed... A
:22:54. > :23:01.whopping 62 kickball changes in 30 seconds.
:23:01. > :23:06.Are you pleased with that? I think so. I don't know how anybody else
:23:06. > :23:10.has done. Hopefully I've set the bar high. You are first on the
:23:10. > :23:15.leaderboard. I don't know how long you will stay at the top. Who do
:23:15. > :23:22.you reckon is your biggest competition? Flavia. Her Argentine
:23:22. > :23:29.tango, her feet move at the rate of Notts. She did so good last year. -
:23:29. > :23:34.- knots. Thank you so much, Robin. Who will
:23:34. > :23:37.rein supreme? Next up, Louis and Flavia will be here. But first, a
:23:37. > :23:47.reminder of Saturday's Charleston triumph. At long last, some
:23:47. > :23:52.personality. You performed. I loved the insane doctor. It was brilliant.
:23:52. > :23:57.The tricks had the wow factor. up, close the door and call me Mary,
:23:57. > :24:07.you've got a personality and you've come out and performed. The making

:24:09. > :24:15.of a true contender. A star turn. Eight. Ten. Nine. Ten! Oh, my, tens.
:24:15. > :24:21.Ten. Two of them. I've never acted like an idiot on camera before.
:24:21. > :24:26.That made it OK. Long may it continue.
:24:26. > :24:36.Please put your hands together for Louis and Flavia.
:24:36. > :24:36.
:24:36. > :24:43.I have to say, Saturday night's performance was a-maazzing. It was
:24:43. > :24:47.good, really different. I enjoyed it. You are so under-stated.
:24:47. > :24:51.A complete turn around from the judges and two tens. I wasn't
:24:51. > :24:56.expecting that at all. You could tell. I think it's because I felt
:24:57. > :25:03.like I was acting like a plonker - I thought I'm not going to get
:25:03. > :25:08.great scores. That was the tricky thing, the judges saying they want
:25:08. > :25:12.performance and it doesn't feel natural. But it worked. I felt I
:25:12. > :25:16.was going over-board. But that's good. What we need. And also, only
:25:16. > :25:22.an eight from Craig. What do you think it's going to take to get him
:25:22. > :25:27.to give you nines and tens? I don't no. I really don't know. He didn't
:25:27. > :25:31.tell us what I did wrong. Maybe I need to undo my top button, I don't
:25:31. > :25:34.know. And the audience roared so much they literally took the roof
:25:34. > :25:38.off Television Centre. Have you ever heard it like that before?
:25:38. > :25:42.not in seven years. The whole of the balcony was shaking and they
:25:42. > :25:46.were pounding the floor. It was incredible. I have not heard that
:25:46. > :25:50.before. It was like being in a stadium. When you hear that you
:25:50. > :25:54.think - is this possibly the dance of the series? Also, how relieved
:25:54. > :25:58.and proud were you to get the performance you wanted out of
:25:58. > :26:03.Louis? It was brilliant. I said it was make or break week. I don't
:26:03. > :26:06.think we could put up with another low week. We need to get the judges
:26:07. > :26:12.on our side so the audience would appreciate it. So it was just
:26:12. > :26:17.perfect. What we needed. I can't stop grining. Well Darcey loved the
:26:17. > :26:27.performance. She said you were a silent movie star. Looking at your

:28:23. > :28:29.# With or without you... # When they wrote it, I'm not sure they
:28:29. > :28:35.were imagining a tango rumba mash- up. Is it working? Yes the music is

:28:40. > :28:45.tango. Do you have to do much acting? Do you have to do facial
:28:45. > :28:49.expressions? Are you thinking of anyone in particular? Flavia hasn't
:28:49. > :28:59.stopped talking about how I have to get into character. Which
:28:59. > :29:05.characters have you come into? Bring back Patrick Swayze I thought.
:29:05. > :29:11.Jim Carey. Or what about Vanilla Ice? Yes, we can make that work.
