:00:00. > :00:10.Owe Hello. Welcome to Tuesday's Two-Footed Corner Challenge. What a
:00:11. > :00:16.-- it takes two. It was almost exit stage left, but they were saved for
:00:17. > :00:20.another week. It's Ashley and Ola. Forget the Glitterball trophy, more
:00:21. > :00:26.crucial competition to addressment here to kick off the it takes two
:00:27. > :00:32.Pro Challenge, it's Iveta and Aljaz. Here to tell us whose performance
:00:33. > :00:36.was in tune and whose was off key in musicals week, Karen Hardy is here.
:00:37. > :01:36.This is Strictly: It Takes Two. Hello, welcome to Strictly: It Takes
:01:37. > :01:39.Two. It's Tuesday and as our Magnificent 7 have become six,
:01:40. > :01:43.dreams of reaching the finals are rife. For my first guest, Saturday
:01:44. > :01:46.nearly turned into an Arabian nightmare when they found themselves
:01:47. > :01:48.in the bottom two for the first time. Ashley and Ola join me after
:01:49. > :02:00.this reminder of their performance. So exotic with a touch of the
:02:01. > :02:04.erotic. You framed the object of your desire so well. The chemistry
:02:05. > :02:07.was there, the lines were beautiful. Your arms still need a little bit
:02:08. > :02:15.more expression but I really and truly loved it. You told a very real
:02:16. > :02:19.story of love. You created some strong masculine lines, great
:02:20. > :02:26.control, well done. You took command of that dance. You came out and you
:02:27. > :02:35.really performed. Eight. Nine. Nine. Nine.
:02:36. > :02:39.We did it. 35 again! Why are you always getting stuck in your
:02:40. > :02:45.trousers? I know, very annoying. I would like to save Ashley and Ola.
:02:46. > :02:48.Ashley and Ola. I would like to see Ashley and Ola stay.
:02:49. > :03:01.They took us on a magic carpet ride with their exotic rumba. Please
:03:02. > :03:06.welcome Aladdin Taylor-Dawson and his Princess Ola. Well done on
:03:07. > :03:10.making it through, the standard on Saturday was so high. It's just
:03:11. > :03:15.crazy. How surprised were you to find yourselves in the dance-off? I
:03:16. > :03:20.wasn't surprised to be honest. I think because everyone is so good
:03:21. > :03:26.and anyone can be there. So I wasn't surprised. How due feel? I think the
:03:27. > :03:30.same. Everyone else's song was upbeat and fun and it's nice to
:03:31. > :03:34.watch that. Ours was a romantic, sort of magical dance. It stood out
:03:35. > :03:38.in a different way. Due feel confident when you went into the
:03:39. > :03:41.dance-off against Mark? He's been three times before. No, I haven't.
:03:42. > :03:44.Because he has been three times before. I thought you never know
:03:45. > :03:51.what's going to happen here, because if we go wrong, we could go home.
:03:52. > :03:57.You have to do your best again in the dance-off. And you did. You did.
:03:58. > :04:01.Through the carpet again. Did you ever in your wildest dreams imagine
:04:02. > :04:06.there you would be in a little jacket... Grown man, 31... On a
:04:07. > :04:15.flying carpet. Definitely not like that, no. I'm not surprised. So the
:04:16. > :04:19.rumba is always known as being the male celebrities worst nightmare.
:04:20. > :04:24.It's intimate and very slow. Did you enJo I it or are you glad it's gone.
:04:25. > :04:29.Thanks to Ola and her choreography I did enjoy it. Ola did an amazing
:04:30. > :04:35.job. Was difficult to manage how we were going to go with it. We did
:04:36. > :04:41.good. I think you did brilliantly. I know it looked amazing. Was it tough
:04:42. > :04:48.to go on after abbey and Aljaz. How selfish are they? ! Me, me, me with
:04:49. > :04:53.those two. Getting 40 before we go out. Out of order. We said when they
:04:54. > :04:57.got 40s, their dance was amazing, we looked at each other thinking wow,
:04:58. > :05:01.how are we going to beat that? There's no chance. Come on, let's
:05:02. > :05:07.get on the carpet. Did your kids love the carpet? Yes, Buddy adored
:05:08. > :05:10.it. It was nice to speak to him on the camera and send him my love.
:05:11. > :05:13.Apparently he was so busy dancing around the room he wasn't bothered
:05:14. > :05:20.about what I was saying. Him. Fourth week in a row you got 35. It's an
:05:21. > :05:25.amazing score. Rub it in. Is it frustrating to get that again? It's
:05:26. > :05:29.just the whole point system. It's like I must have gone up and down or
:05:30. > :05:35.some way or improved and to get the same thing every week it's becoming
:05:36. > :05:39.repetitive. It's like a stagnant pond, I'm not learning anything and
:05:40. > :05:44.nothing's growing. You are learning. He is. He is improving every week
:05:45. > :05:50.and he's doing very good. I'm loving the dancing, but you think, give me
:05:51. > :05:55.some sort of... Indication. Of what we're doing right. I haven't gone
:05:56. > :05:58.down. We know how much Ola loves it when the phone lines open. She goes
:05:59. > :06:05.crazy. We've noticed in training it seems to be a bit of a connection
:06:06. > :06:19.with you and phones in general, Ola. Erm...... PHONE RINGS
:06:20. > :06:22.Sorry, that's my phone. Home aLen.
:06:23. > :06:40.-- alone. Erm...... Yeah, oh, good. This is James. "Ola, how do you make
:06:41. > :06:44.cereal? We should mute that while we're training in future.
:06:45. > :06:51.He's going to get you. He's going to hate that. That's very funny. Salsa
:06:52. > :06:56.for you this weekend. I'm excited about this. How's it going? After
:06:57. > :07:01.last week, being in the bottom two, salsa, for me, I just can't wait.
:07:02. > :07:07.I'm going to just smash it this week, as well as I can. Queer going
:07:08. > :07:10.for it. -- We're going for it. Everything in the routine. If I can
:07:11. > :07:14.do it. In my mind I'm going to be to do it. In my mind I'm going tobe to
:07:15. > :07:18.be fantastic. Seen those hips go. It will be brilliant. He can move. The
:07:19. > :07:23.judges critique was a lack of hip action. How is that going? It's
:07:24. > :07:29.actually OK, not too bad. Probably salsa maybe be a better dance for
:07:30. > :07:34.Ashley. I think he will enjoy the salsa more than the rumba. He will
:07:35. > :07:38.loosen up. I will make sure. He's a party dance. I can see the twinkle
:07:39. > :07:42.in his eye, he likes a party. Also on Saturday, we have the return of
:07:43. > :07:46.the swing-a-thon, when all the couples go onto the floor head to
:07:47. > :07:54.head at the same time. It's quite an exciting thing. I have to say, if we
:07:55. > :07:59.look back in history, Artem won it in 2008 and Harry and Aliona won the
:08:00. > :08:04.swing-a-thon and they went on to win. It's the first time we see you
:08:05. > :08:09.all at the same time. Yes. Kick, push, whatever you can do. Kick and
:08:10. > :08:15.push. Take them down. Banana skins. Exactly. Will the quiff make a
:08:16. > :08:20.return? I don't know. No. I think it's gone into retirement. It's a
:08:21. > :08:26.good-luck quiff. Bring him back. Put him on a lead and take him with us.
:08:27. > :08:32.Your Aladdin. Good luck on Saturday. Ashley and Ola! As we all know,
:08:33. > :08:37.nothing gets the pro dancers going like a healthy dose of competition.
:08:38. > :08:45.In previous years we've tested them on kick ball changes and botafogos.
:08:46. > :08:51.This year it's time to launch the Strictly: It Takes Two Pro Challenge
:08:52. > :08:56.2013. Bring it on. This is a challenge to set a
:08:57. > :09:01.Guinness World Record for the most drunken sailor dance steps in 30
:09:02. > :09:08.seconds. One challenge. One goal. 30 seconds.
:09:09. > :09:13.I'm joined by choreographer to the stars Richard and Guinness World
:09:14. > :09:18.Records adjudicator, Elizabeth. A drunken sailor is a cross step
:09:19. > :09:21.behind, a step to the side and a replacement of weight to the
:09:22. > :09:25.starting foot. They need to make sure they cross behind and replace
:09:26. > :09:29.the weight. They're really going to have to concentrate on the rhythm,
:09:30. > :09:34.because one foot wrong and it could all be over. This challenge is very
:09:35. > :09:39.physical. So they're going to need stamina.
:09:40. > :09:44.Just 30 seconds Stans in the way of our pros. The prize: A world record.
:09:45. > :09:48.-- stands in the way of our pros. The prize: A world record. Let the
:09:49. > :09:53.battle commence. There you have, it finally an answer to the age-old
:09:54. > :10:00.question - what shall we do with a drunken sailor. Welcome Iveta and
:10:01. > :10:05.Aljaz, our first contenders. APPLAUSE
:10:06. > :10:09.Hello, my darlings. Take your place upon the sofa. Welcome to you both.
:10:10. > :10:15.Very excitingly, it's your first Pro Challenge for you both. Iveta, how
:10:16. > :10:19.excited about it are you? I'm very excited. I've never done it before.
:10:20. > :10:23.I have no expectations. I like the competition between competitors.
:10:24. > :10:27.Aljaz, did you know what to expect beforehand, did any of the pros who
:10:28. > :10:31.have done it before say this is how it works, any advice? Yeah, everyone
:10:32. > :10:36.is trying to do their best. I was going in as well. I have never done
:10:37. > :10:41.as many drunken sailors as I possibly can in 30 seconds. I was
:10:42. > :10:48.petrified. It's so exciting! Any fighting talk with Jenette? All the
:10:49. > :10:53.time. No, no. We were thinking like what should we do to make it quick.
:10:54. > :10:59.But I don't know if there is a recipe just... Just got to get on
:11:00. > :11:08.with it. Let's have a look. Are you ready for this?
:11:09. > :11:14.I think what's difficult is 30 seconds sounds like a short time but
:11:15. > :11:17.it's a long time when you do something nonstop physically. I'm
:11:18. > :11:24.nervous. But I'll do my best. I'll give it a roll and do it for Mark.
:11:25. > :11:29.Hello. Hello. Your first Pro Challenge. How are you feeling? A
:11:30. > :11:32.little nervous. I know I'm against really good professional dancers.
:11:33. > :11:37.Take your position on the dance floor.
:11:38. > :11:47.Are you ready? Yes. Richard, are you ready? Ian, I am ready. Acued Kator,
:11:48. > :12:22.are you -- adjudicator? I am. Three, two, one, go.
:12:23. > :12:52.end, a little bit muddy. Absolutely. Especially
:12:53. > :13:00.for whoever does best. How well do you think you did? I loved your face
:13:01. > :13:00.for whoever does best. How well do How well do you reckon you did? I
:13:01. > :13:08.don't know. Something under 100, How well do you reckon you did? I
:13:09. > :13:14.happy for whoever won. But you are How well do you reckon you did? I
:13:15. > :13:21.it? I do want to win for Mark. As I said, I do
:13:22. > :13:21.it? I do want to win for Mark. As I thinking, "Didn't mention Abbey."
:13:22. > :13:54.You will have to thinking, "Didn't mention Abbey."
:13:55. > :14:02.anxious to see how good I can do. Aljaz, welcome. What are
:14:03. > :14:02.very seriously. I've been practising every night for the last three
:14:03. > :14:19.months. every night for the last three
:14:20. > :15:00.Are you ready? Ready. Richard, are you ready?
:15:01. > :15:06.It looked very precise. I thought you were very consistent, very
:15:07. > :15:13.together, very controlled. There was a bit of speed there. So, who knows.
:15:14. > :15:17.I would be over the moon breaking a new world record, my body is in
:15:18. > :15:22.agony right now, I hope it was enough.
:15:23. > :15:28.Come on Aljaz! The great thing is you didn't stop smiling once during
:15:29. > :15:32.all of that. Let's see how they both did. After each of the professionals
:15:33. > :15:40.had attempted their drunken sailors the footage was watched back in slow
:15:41. > :15:45.motion to verify every single one. They had to be accurate. I can
:15:46. > :15:51.reveal that one of you did 61 drunken sailors and the other did
:15:52. > :15:58.73. However, and there is a big however,
:15:59. > :16:03.one of you had a mammoth 31 steps disqualified. Shocker. Yes, a
:16:04. > :16:07.shocker. That's me. Let's have the moment of truth. The
:16:08. > :16:24.person currently at the top of the leaderboard is...
:16:25. > :16:44.It's Aljaz with 61. It means, Iveta you had 73 but had 31 disqualified.
:16:45. > :16:51.Who did that? Nothing to do with me. She's going to take me on.
:16:52. > :16:58.Who was the judge? Well done. Who do you think could beat you out of all
:16:59. > :17:03.the pros? I'm not sure. I think short people, I think Jenette will
:17:04. > :17:07.do great. Yes little legs. You have to say that otherwise you won't have
:17:08. > :17:12.tea tonight. I know! And Kevin for sure. He's fast.
:17:13. > :17:15.He loves jive. I don't know. We shall see. Well done both of you.
:17:16. > :17:25.Thank you so much for taking part. Iveta and Aljaz! Tomorrow, we will
:17:26. > :17:28.see how Aliona gets on. So far Lisa Riley has been working hard
:17:29. > :17:33.behind-the-scenes. She's worked with the lighting team, floor managing
:17:34. > :17:36.and last weekend, we had to give her props.
:17:37. > :17:40.Thanks Zoe. Yes, they have trusted me to come back and do more work
:17:41. > :17:51.experience. But what have they got in store today? Well, shall we have
:17:52. > :17:56.a look. Come on! Are you OK? Well. You're with the art department. Grab
:17:57. > :18:01.the sofa. Really? Let's go this way. The art department on Strictly Come
:18:02. > :18:05.Dancing are a busy bunch. Each week they can be responsible for sourcing
:18:06. > :18:09.and making every prop. They have the all-important job of getting the
:18:10. > :18:12.studio ready for Saturday's big show. Would you mind carrying on and
:18:13. > :18:20.setting these musical notes around the set for me. Be arty. All right.
:18:21. > :18:26.No worries. Cheers. No pressure. We've lost a few couples, better
:18:27. > :18:31.fill some spaces. For Bruce and his autoqueue.
:18:32. > :18:35.-- autocue. What is your job title and what do you do? I'm the art
:18:36. > :18:41.director and I'm in charge of staging and proppeds for the couple
:18:42. > :18:46.dances and group routines. It's musical week and I've seen the car.
:18:47. > :18:51.We've been given a concept, the flying car. One doesn't exist so
:18:52. > :18:56.we've had it made. There it is. You always come up with the goods, don't
:18:57. > :19:02.you? It's showbiz. You love a bit of glitter. Exactly. So do I.
:19:03. > :19:08.The workshop is where all the props and sets are made and stored before
:19:09. > :19:13.the live show. It's a bit like Santa's grotto for Strictly Come
:19:14. > :19:19.Dancing. With the art department, I thought I'd be creative. It's tiring
:19:20. > :19:24.all this prop stuff. I can use the props can't I, and have a rest.
:19:25. > :19:29.Don't tell the boys! There's no time for sleeping, love. Sofa and Brendan
:19:30. > :19:33.are waiting. We need this for rehearsals. I'm on it. Let's go.
:19:34. > :19:37.Come on then. The prop boys are responsible for setting every prop
:19:38. > :19:44.into position for each rehearsal and live performance in the studio. Is
:19:45. > :19:47.that where you want it? Yes, it's perfect. More glitter on that later.
:19:48. > :19:52.Where are you bringing me? This is the props cage where we keep all our
:19:53. > :20:00.secret, expensive and glittery stuff for the show. It really is glittery.
:20:01. > :20:05.Yeah, everything. The important job today is the paddles. If I give you
:20:06. > :20:11.two sets. These are where they're kept. We can get them ready. Lovely,
:20:12. > :20:15.right. Follow me. Jamie, so am I doing Bruno and Len? Bruno and Len,
:20:16. > :20:18.yeah. They go down next to the chairs. You never see them. We put
:20:19. > :20:22.them in before the show and take them out straight after. The boys
:20:23. > :20:26.are here. I've really enjoyed being part of your team today. I just
:20:27. > :20:33.wondered how I've done, have I done OK? I'd have you every week. I'd
:20:34. > :20:39.give you a 10. Get in! Got to be a 10. I'd have you back again, a 10.
:20:40. > :20:45.Three 10s, Zoe, are you proud of me, I got three 10s, I didn't get one on
:20:46. > :20:49.the series. Back to you. Snment -- back to you.
:20:50. > :20:52.On Saturday night our couples performed some of musical's most
:20:53. > :20:55.iconic characters. Who was memorable and who would we rather forget?
:20:56. > :21:17.Let's ask our leading lady Karen. Please welcome Karen Hardy! Still on
:21:18. > :21:21.the jazz hands. Any excuse. Saturday's theme being musicals, how
:21:22. > :21:26.hard is it to find the right balance between staying true to a dance and
:21:27. > :21:29.impersonating a character? It's really difficult. Sometimes the
:21:30. > :21:35.bells and whistles can take over and we've heard judges in the past put
:21:36. > :21:39.in big complaints. You know what, it was perfection personified. I loved
:21:40. > :21:43.this weekend. For the record, probably the best themed that we
:21:44. > :21:47.have had. I know. It was so extraordinarily exciting, it blew my
:21:48. > :21:52.mind. Let's start with Natalie and Artem. Len's critique was that there
:21:53. > :21:58.wasn't enough foxtrot for him. Was it clever choreography from Artem
:21:59. > :22:01.and if so, why? We have to call it clever choreography, because it
:22:02. > :22:04.definitely sucked me into the performance. I loved it. Because of
:22:05. > :22:08.the attention to detail. What we're seeing now, all these weeks in, the
:22:09. > :22:15.beautiful use of arms. You no ethat really sells the performance. Here
:22:16. > :22:22.this is a feather step in shadow position. It was exquisite. But
:22:23. > :22:28.Leonard was correct again. It's meant to be a 60/40 split. We want
:22:29. > :22:31.to see 40% of the basis of the dance. Looking back over it, there
:22:32. > :22:36.wasn't quite enough. You know what, Artem, he's becoming the big bad boy
:22:37. > :22:41.of the choreography. He's doing this every week, but what we have to look
:22:42. > :22:45.at is entertainment versus content. That's going to wow the audience.
:22:46. > :22:52.Will it wow the judges? They've got to be really careful. Ashley and Ola
:22:53. > :22:56.and their rumba, tough dance for all male celebrities to conquer. How
:22:57. > :23:01.well did he cope with it? I thought he was gorgeous. We know that this
:23:02. > :23:05.rumba is very difficult for men, should they be tough and strong and
:23:06. > :23:10.powerful, you know, steps like this that we're looking at, the opening
:23:11. > :23:14.out, left and right, those men have to deliver that strong hip action.
:23:15. > :23:19.He did it all really well. They moved together in harmony. It was
:23:20. > :23:25.just exquisite. A beautiful, romantic rumba. What I want to show
:23:26. > :23:38.everybody is how to do this step. The opening out, left and right.
:23:39. > :23:42.They involve a cucaracha. That means squashing the cockroach. We do a
:23:43. > :23:48.figure eight with our helps, step to the side close the feet and then we
:23:49. > :23:54.go to the other side. We close the feet. And the hips. You have to
:23:55. > :24:00.think, we're asking a man on live television to be undulating... To
:24:01. > :24:05.crush a cockroach. And undulate his hips. Not easy. He delivered it
:24:06. > :24:09.really well. I loved the performance. Another tough night.
:24:10. > :24:14.Patrick and Anya and their charleston. Patrick made this dance
:24:15. > :24:18.look so easy. Each time something happened I thought, it can't get
:24:19. > :24:22.better. Even better. Three 10s, how complex was that routine? This
:24:23. > :24:26.routine was sensational. What a dance to open it with. You know in
:24:27. > :24:30.the beginning, I've got to say, I didn't even know he was even
:24:31. > :24:36.interested in this show. Look at him now, look at the personality between
:24:37. > :24:39.the two of em, the music, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, but the
:24:40. > :24:44.choreography here, what's interesting to notice a lot of solo
:24:45. > :24:50.work. We say in the ballroom and Latin field, solo work is easier to
:24:51. > :24:56.do than the actual partnering and ballroom and Latin dancing is all
:24:57. > :24:59.about partnering. What I'm hoping, this amazing entertainment,
:25:00. > :25:04.commitment, the technique in this, all of it, he can maintain when they
:25:05. > :25:09.are in their arms, in the arms of each other. Because that was
:25:10. > :25:16.sensational. Well done Patrick. Abbey and Aljaz and their salsa. Oh,
:25:17. > :25:21.my Lord. You got top marks for a salsa with Ramps. The only other
:25:22. > :25:28.couple to do that in our history. Now Abbey and Aljaz. How cleverly
:25:29. > :25:32.did they fuse disco and salsa? Well, I'm going to say, this was
:25:33. > :25:37.brilliant. Anything that's with a musical or theming, you're going to
:25:38. > :25:41.get into a situation people will love it or hate it because it's been
:25:42. > :25:45.themed. Now what I loved about this and I had to keep watching it back,
:25:46. > :25:50.it actually has and the choreography I've chosen here, it has all the
:25:51. > :25:54.essence of salsa in it, but they just brushed it over with a disco
:25:55. > :25:58.element. When I watched it at first, I went this is too much disco, but
:25:59. > :26:03.when you break it down, all the salsa was this there as well.
:26:04. > :26:09.Instead of free arms, they might put the classic points in, loved it. I
:26:10. > :26:15.loved brilliant. Awesome. It was awesome. Susanna and Kevin and their
:26:16. > :26:21.quickstep. The judges said they had a few sync issues. What did you see?
:26:22. > :26:26.First of all the energy these two have, the movement around the dance
:26:27. > :26:29.floor was absolutely incredible. I loved it. That said, the
:26:30. > :26:34.choreography was at a really high level. I can see where Kevin is
:26:35. > :26:38.really pushing her. But he's got to be careful. He's trying to push her
:26:39. > :26:41.into that final, so he's testing her now. There were a few little
:26:42. > :26:47.mistakes that we've picked up here, do you know what, I thought it was
:26:48. > :26:51.sensational. I have a little bit of special demo time here.
:26:52. > :26:58.In that choreography were pendulum swings. What a way to work off those
:26:59. > :27:02.calories because this is just to show you how difficult it is and I
:27:03. > :27:07.want everyone at home to have a go. Point one leg to the side. Jump onto
:27:08. > :27:11.the other win and swing. Now you have to imagine there's two of you
:27:12. > :27:18.doing it at the same time. Now the woodpecker, which I love. Now you
:27:19. > :27:24.tap behind at the same time. And a few of those and a couple of those
:27:25. > :27:27.and that is why it can so easily go out of sync. A sensational
:27:28. > :27:30.performance to close one of the greatest weekends that I think we've
:27:31. > :27:37.had so far on Strictly this year. A clap for that domo alone.
:27:38. > :27:43.The Viennese waltz and Sophie and Brendan. This made me cry. Why did
:27:44. > :27:51.this dance suit Sophie so well and how did Brendan's choreography work
:27:52. > :27:57.to her strengths? Absolutely pure, first class. What I love, she's the
:27:58. > :28:01.queen of quintessential, Brendan, he wants to deliver pure dancing. I've
:28:02. > :28:05.picked up here what we call the fleckerl. Every year we talk about
:28:06. > :28:09.it. A lot of the professionals don't give it to their celebrities because
:28:10. > :28:15.it's so difficult. Not Brendan. He gives her three to do. Three times
:28:16. > :28:19.she went in and did some form of fleckerl. It was absolutely
:28:20. > :28:24.gorgeous. The top lines, the body connection, the movement, there were
:28:25. > :28:28.no gimmicks. It was not about the entertainment of lifts and wham Bam
:28:29. > :28:34.thank you ma'am, it was pure dancing. It was essential, for the
:28:35. > :28:38.record, why were there no 10s? There you go. I'm putting it out there.
:28:39. > :28:42.She can do it and I know she'll be fine. It's so exciting now. Who's
:28:43. > :28:49.going to win? I can't wait! Thank you as ever, a delight, Karen Hardy.
:28:50. > :28:53.Well, that is it for today. Thank you to all my guests. Tomorrow, I'm
:28:54. > :28:58.talking 10s and chatting charleston with Patrick and Anya. Plus Ian is
:28:59. > :29:00.back with a preview of the upcoming dances in the Wednesday Warm-Up. See
:29:01. > :29:04.you tomorrow, good night.
