:00:53. > :01:04.Coming up, Melvin and Janette will be giving us another
:01:05. > :01:08.cha-cha-chart rundown, and this time it's a faceography
:01:09. > :01:13.special, so you can expect trout pouts galore!
:01:14. > :01:16.Plus, we'll be playing the hits when we reveal this weekend's music
:01:17. > :01:19.But first, let's meet tonight's guests.
:01:20. > :01:25.They survived their first dance off, it's Claudia and AJ!
:01:26. > :01:32.And they're joined by the grand dame of dance, Karen Hardy!
:01:33. > :01:36.But don't get too comfortable, get yourself over here because first
:01:37. > :01:53.up tonight, it's Choreography Corner!
:01:54. > :02:04.Karen Hardy, everyone! CHEERING You are the Queen! What an
:02:05. > :02:11.incredible weekend in the Tower Ballroom. Didn't they do us proud? I
:02:12. > :02:16.loved it! It is like coming round the last bend of the 800 metres and
:02:17. > :02:21.you can see the finishing line and I felt the professionals running
:02:22. > :02:24.towards it with great choreography, enthusiasm and teamwork. The
:02:25. > :02:29.celebrities keeping up. Everything they asked, they kept up with them
:02:30. > :02:35.and I absolutely loved the show. I loved the opening number, it got
:02:36. > :02:39.better and better and made me cry Axel we will start with Claudia
:02:40. > :02:45.. They were in the dance off and got nines across the board, there was
:02:46. > :02:54.one little mistake. Nothing gets past you! I know. Something like a
:02:55. > :02:58.jive is fast and flaky and maybe people at home did not see it but we
:02:59. > :03:03.must point it out because as we go through the competition... Amazing
:03:04. > :03:09.bit of work, she opened the show, a lot of pressure on. She overturns
:03:10. > :03:16.and misses the step and cat is the wrong hand. It goes on. This is what
:03:17. > :03:23.I love, she pulls it back. She brings it back to life. When she got
:03:24. > :03:30.in that dance off, there was that Olympic great. I've got to do it! I
:03:31. > :03:35.could feel all of her train is saying to her to deliver. Musically
:03:36. > :03:42.she has got to be careful. She lost her rhythm, but still a little
:03:43. > :03:48.whippersnapper and a lot of talent. Well done to her. Louise and Kevin,
:03:49. > :03:56.Kevin always impressive with the paso. But Louise, she was
:03:57. > :04:00.phenomenal. Craig was loving the flamenco stuff. She had to bring it
:04:01. > :04:08.with this. It was everything I have wanted. I could pick up on the
:04:09. > :04:11.flamenco part. The music is building, the relationship with the
:04:12. > :04:16.dancers in the background, her energy, still a little smile but she
:04:17. > :04:20.is using her skirt. And the conviction of what she's doing. The
:04:21. > :04:29.layering we are seeing. I talk about this, it is like painting a Monet,
:04:30. > :04:32.how can it be difficult? Field and flowers and bridge! It is the skill
:04:33. > :04:42.behind it and be hidden messages and the layering in that was incredible.
:04:43. > :04:47.And compared to a Monet! Ore and Joanne, great showmanship, he just
:04:48. > :04:53.owned the floor. And the longest lasting fleckerl ever seen! How long
:04:54. > :04:58.is too long with a fleckerl or can they not be long enough? This is a
:04:59. > :05:02.competition and I love it! If we are in an open competition and you go
:05:03. > :05:06.into the centre and your rival comes in with you, you are going around
:05:07. > :05:10.and you don't want to go out before they do so you hold that fleckerl.
:05:11. > :05:15.It was the same gamble, telling us it is a competition, not my normal
:05:16. > :05:21.amount, we are going to stay longer and longer. What we see now, it was
:05:22. > :05:26.a gamble, we have slowed it down and at the expense of the hold, the
:05:27. > :05:31.body, the neck, everything. However, to take the gamble is now is what
:05:32. > :05:36.this is all about. You don't want to be the nice guys sitting at home. It
:05:37. > :05:40.gives enthusiasm and energy and that rush to get to the finishing line. I
:05:41. > :05:47.loved it and thought it was brilliant. Well done to them. Judge
:05:48. > :05:56.Rinder and Oxon and their spicy salsa! The term booty was branded by
:05:57. > :06:04.the judges! -- Oksana. Where does it rank on the booty chart? It has to
:06:05. > :06:09.be ten! I picked up on it. So much to pick up on this number will stop
:06:10. > :06:18.that the freedom and flexibility, I have seen celebrities in the past,
:06:19. > :06:25.look at that! This is our serious Judge them and he is out there
:06:26. > :06:28.shaking his booty. From that foxtrot that was disciplined last week, when
:06:29. > :06:32.he does a Latin dance I worry he lets his discipline go out of the
:06:33. > :06:34.window, there were a couple of little errors. I think he had
:06:35. > :06:40.another next week, he has to controlled the technique with his
:06:41. > :06:52.freedom of body movement and he will do well. Perfect. Next up, the great
:06:53. > :06:56.Balls of fire! Ed and Katya, the Bruno's surprised he said most of it
:06:57. > :07:00.look like a jive but I thought it was for a nominal. He brought
:07:01. > :07:05.entertainment to the Tower Ballroom, he is on a mission, so committed.
:07:06. > :07:09.Week after week. What I spotted this week, I'm not sure if he is getting
:07:10. > :07:16.tired or if Katya is upping the choreography. He has that energy,
:07:17. > :07:22.the eyes have gone down and he looks a little bit nervous. What is
:07:23. > :07:29.happening? But this is our Ed Balls! I'm back! This is what we know and
:07:30. > :07:34.love this guy for, he brings us entertainment. Be careful, keep your
:07:35. > :07:43.energy up all the way through the competition. I need to lie down even
:07:44. > :07:47.watching! And Danny and Oti, the first 40 of the series, they have
:07:48. > :07:52.had it coming. A round of applause. Len said it was almost choreography
:07:53. > :07:58.overload there was so much in it. Have you ever seen so much in a
:07:59. > :08:07.Strictly Thorsten? And in such a positive way, it was incredible. --
:08:08. > :08:11.in a Strictly Charleston. I would say that when Danny came into the
:08:12. > :08:16.competition his technical level was already quite high will stop you
:08:17. > :08:20.could argue it is in -- if his improvement was as big as the others
:08:21. > :08:26.but look at this. He does not stop, they have said, we are going to lift
:08:27. > :08:32.it again. He is equal to the other dancers on the floor, keeping up
:08:33. > :08:37.with the choreography, sing debating his actions and using his arms.
:08:38. > :08:40.Emotion and energy in what he is doing, absolutely incredible and
:08:41. > :08:49.worthy of the tens. Well done indeed. We have not had a demo? I
:08:50. > :08:55.will tell you what we will do... I was getting carried away! What we're
:08:56. > :08:58.seeing now is what I'm talking about which is the layering effect. It is
:08:59. > :09:04.the secret 11 is going on behind. You need to move the rubbish bin in
:09:05. > :09:15.the kitchen -- the secret elements. It is tapped, step, tap, step. If we
:09:16. > :09:25.lay it and go tapped, low, tap, middle, tap, high and then we add
:09:26. > :09:31.the arms! APPLAUSE It is all about the layering and the
:09:32. > :09:36.secret messages. Fantastic! Somebody has taken something out in the
:09:37. > :09:39.kitchen! Karen Hardy, everybody! APPLAUSE
:09:40. > :09:42.Now, you'll have heard the term 'Faceography' bandied around a lot
:09:43. > :09:45.this series but it's been part of the Strictly make-up for years.
:09:46. > :09:47.Here to give us a rundown of the greatest facial choreography
:09:48. > :09:50.ever seen on the box, it's Strictly FM's leading DJs,
:09:51. > :10:05.Good evening listeners, we're coming to you live from the archives and we
:10:06. > :10:11.are here with the Katich up show. Today we are counting down our top
:10:12. > :10:17.five faceography. That kick things off. Before we start, what is
:10:18. > :10:21.faceography? It is when you use your face to really tell the story, of
:10:22. > :10:32.the what makes a dance go from success to show stopper. At number
:10:33. > :10:37.five is Mark in series 11. It was his salsa which first brought his
:10:38. > :10:39.facial capabilities to the attention of the judges. You make me feel
:10:40. > :10:51.good! It was the chapter chart in week
:10:52. > :10:57.four that earned him his place -- cha-cha-cha.
:10:58. > :11:08.In fourth place is Matt Bacon who brought the swinging 60s with his
:11:09. > :11:13.Maestro Austin Powers. But only did he kick off with a backflip but he
:11:14. > :11:19.gave us one of the most memorable faces completely with dog
:11:20. > :11:22.impression. He is the only dancer in strictly macro history to receive a
:11:23. > :11:43.dog bark! Let's move on. At number three is
:11:44. > :11:50.everyone's favourite chef Ainsley in series 13. His face, more
:11:51. > :11:57.specifically his eyebrow, came to our attention in his salsa. It was
:11:58. > :12:02.not just the hips, it was the face. Look who it is at number two just
:12:03. > :12:09.missing out on the top spot, it is Jake Wood. And his dance partner...
:12:10. > :12:24.Jake and me! OES! Jake totally smashed it in the salsa
:12:25. > :12:29.in series 12. It was not just his face but his hip action with next
:12:30. > :12:37.level. The get faceography, it was all about hipography. That hip
:12:38. > :12:43.action could crack coconuts! So many happy memories. He is definitely my
:12:44. > :12:52.favourite partner. Calls Jake, of course. And at number one, it is
:12:53. > :13:04.Susanna Reid and her partner Kevin Clifton. First there was her jive.
:13:05. > :13:11.And then came the Charleston. You use your face without question and
:13:12. > :13:19.it is fantastic. However it was her salsa in week 12 that cemented her
:13:20. > :13:23.position as the Queen of expression. Susanna and Kevin may have been
:13:24. > :13:29.runners up but they are number one in our faceography chart. I think we
:13:30. > :13:31.know which is the bigger achievement! That is all we have
:13:32. > :13:44.time for. Keep dancing! I love them, I think they need their
:13:45. > :13:47.own spin off spin off. Put it in your diaries,
:13:48. > :13:50.darling, because... Yes, if you've a question
:13:51. > :13:54.for Strictly's answer to Scrooge, then email it
:13:55. > :13:57.to ItTakesTwo@bbc.co.uk or tweet Only the best questions
:13:58. > :14:02.will make the grade! But now, if you want to know
:14:03. > :14:05.what the kids are listening to these days, you've come
:14:06. > :14:07.to the wrong place! Now, we are going to be
:14:08. > :14:24.revealing a whopping 50% And that's because there
:14:25. > :14:29.are only six couples left. So, what's first on
:14:30. > :14:33.the playlist tonight. MUSIC: Cry Me A River
:14:34. > :14:36.by Justin Timberlake. It's Justin Timberlake's 2003
:14:37. > :14:40.hit, Cry Me A River. Arguably one of the greatest
:14:41. > :14:45.break-up songs of all time, it was inspired by JT's own split
:14:46. > :14:48.with childhood sweetheart Britney And just how many teardrops would it
:14:49. > :14:56.take to cry a river? Well, according to our "very
:14:57. > :15:06.loose" calculations, to fill the River Thames -
:15:07. > :15:10.it would take four hunderd and five thousand, eight hundred
:15:11. > :15:11.and ten billion teardrops! Or what Ore calls "just your
:15:12. > :15:15.average Saturday night." So who will be dancing
:15:16. > :15:21.to this watery tune? They'll be dancing
:15:22. > :15:36.an Argentine Tango to this. I cannot wait it see what they think
:15:37. > :15:39.about that later on in the show. Let's see what is next.
:15:40. > :15:59.Hello, darling, shall I lean on you? Originally made famous by Bill
:16:00. > :16:06.Withers, who didn't record his first song until he was 32. A late
:16:07. > :16:13.bloomer. This is really making me feel nice. A cuddle from, Aunty
:16:14. > :16:16.Karen. Eye' sleeping. You have a nap, you have so many children.
:16:17. > :16:19.He wrote this song when he moved to LA from Slab Fork, West Virginia
:16:20. > :16:21.and found himself missing the tightknit community
:16:22. > :16:23.Nothing like an old friend is there, Karen?
:16:24. > :16:31.Less of the old, obviously. Sorry, love, sorry. I'm older than you.
:16:32. > :16:33.But who will be hoping for plenty of support when they dance
:16:34. > :16:42.They'll be dancing the Rumba to this.
:16:43. > :16:52.MUSIC: I Can't Get No Satisfaction by the Rolling Stones.
:16:53. > :16:55.It's the song that shot the Rolling Stones to fame,
:16:56. > :17:00.Once branded "the group that parents love to hate",
:17:01. > :17:05.the rockers have outlasted all their 1960s' contemporaries -
:17:06. > :17:08.in fact, the combined age of the current members is 289!
:17:09. > :17:19.That's very good. Claudia is like - who is Mick Jagger.
:17:20. > :17:21.But who will be aiming to satisfy us with their moves
:17:22. > :17:39.Ed Balls and the Rolling Stones: sure to be a match made in heaven.
:17:40. > :17:46.They will be dancing a tango. Gather, gather, let's stand together
:17:47. > :17:48.and cuddle. Are you all right down there, love?
:17:49. > :17:52.If you want to find out what songs the rest of our couples will be
:17:53. > :17:54.dancing to this weekend, you can head to the Strictly
:17:55. > :18:00.What do you mean we look ridiculous. It's me, it's me, isn't it? .
:18:01. > :18:03.Now, I'd love to tell you I woke up looking like
:18:04. > :18:07.been getting top tips from the Glam Squad for years.
:18:08. > :18:10.Here's Lisa Armstrong's guide to mastering the art of make up.
:18:11. > :18:19.I love you, my little Jaggers. I'm the hair and make-up designer for
:18:20. > :18:23.Strictly Come Dancing. Today I will share with you some of the secrets
:18:24. > :18:28.I've gained in the past nine years of me working on the show. My first
:18:29. > :18:31.top tip when creating a Strictly Come Dancing make-up. Is always
:18:32. > :18:37.start with the eyes. Basically make sure that none of the droppers from
:18:38. > :18:42.the eye make-up falls on to the skin and ruins a perfect base. We use an
:18:43. > :18:47.eye primer, to set the eye shadow and make sure it doesn't move
:18:48. > :18:51.anywhere. So, an essential staple product for a Strictly Come Dancing
:18:52. > :18:59.make-up look is the eye liner. You take a thin brush, start in the
:19:00. > :19:05.middle of the eye and lightly stroke the brush along the lash line. See
:19:06. > :19:14.you can elongate that tip and make a sharp end. A top tip is make a
:19:15. > :19:19.cuetip, wrap it into a make-up wipe and perfect the flick. Let's face
:19:20. > :19:23.it, you cannot be on Strictly Come Dancing without wearing a false
:19:24. > :19:27.eyelash. I'm going to show you may to make sure it fits properly. We
:19:28. > :19:33.take the eyelash and lay it across the lash line of the eye. It is not
:19:34. > :19:36.glued on but we can see we have a nice shape running through the eye
:19:37. > :19:41.and into that beautiful eyeliner. A top tip also is to make sure the
:19:42. > :19:46.glue is a bit tacky before applying. Take the lash on a downward angle
:19:47. > :19:51.and just pop in the middle of the eye, bang. Make sure you are right
:19:52. > :19:56.in the lashline and make sure it is nicely fitted all the way along.
:19:57. > :20:00.Give it a couple of seconds and then you open the eye and - the perfect
:20:01. > :20:15.lash. One question I get asked frequently is how to confor and what
:20:16. > :20:18.is conforing. -- contour. . We use a dark shade and go underneath the
:20:19. > :20:23.cheekbone to give you a beautiful structure. You can go below the
:20:24. > :20:29.jawline to create more of a sharp jawline affect. You don't need to do
:20:30. > :20:34.this, you have a great jawline. You take the highlighter with a soft
:20:35. > :20:38.brush and go on the top of the cheekbone. Over the top and we can
:20:39. > :20:44.do this down the T-zone to brighten up the face. A little bit here.
:20:45. > :20:48.Nicely blended, and a bit here. Then you would use your blusher and that
:20:49. > :20:54.sits here to make a really beautiful cheek. So my last top tip is to show
:20:55. > :21:00.you how to create the perfect Bullet-proof red lip. To make sure
:21:01. > :21:02.your lip pencil is nice and sharpened, and do nice thick strokes
:21:03. > :21:04.your lip pencil is nice and sharpened, and do nice thick strokes
:21:05. > :21:08.along the line. Making sure you go into the inner corner of the mouth
:21:09. > :21:13.and making sure you never, ever go over the line. Then you take your
:21:14. > :21:16.lipstick and then blend along into the lip line.
:21:17. > :21:24.And there you go. Thank you to the ever gorgeous,
:21:25. > :21:31.Chloe and Lisa. Hmm, this could take a while -
:21:32. > :21:44.you get the idea... # Oh Mickey what a pithy you don't
:21:45. > :21:49.understand... ...# Full on, brisk, sharp. The kicks and
:21:50. > :21:52.flicks were time. I really and truly loved it. It showed off all your
:21:53. > :22:00.strengths. It was dynamic throughout. One tiny mistake, but
:22:01. > :22:07.still a spectacular performance. Claudia and AJ are here everyone.
:22:08. > :22:11.Well done to the two of you. I have to say when Strictly comes to down
:22:12. > :22:15.in Blackpool, it is like the biggest night of the year and you had to go
:22:16. > :22:20.out there, first for everybody. Was it scary? It was really scary. I
:22:21. > :22:24.said to mayself - go out there, enjoy it, get the party started. We
:22:25. > :22:27.did that. It is such an energetic song, I really enjoyed it. You were
:22:28. > :22:35.absolutely splendid. It was ridiculous. I had to say, the jive
:22:36. > :22:40.really did blow the judges' minds. So much so Craig said he would have
:22:41. > :22:41.given it a 10, had it not been for the mistake.
:22:42. > :22:43.So much so Craig said he would have given it a 10, had it not been for
:22:44. > :22:48.the mistake. That's more cruel to hear that. What was the mistake? It
:22:49. > :22:58.was after we do this... That bit. What is it called? Just a Shaab say.
:22:59. > :23:01.-- a shashsay. Beforehand I nailed it every time.
:23:02. > :23:06.And it was weird when I wept out there for some reason I blanked out
:23:07. > :23:09.and I was like - oh, no, what is going on, and because the start was
:23:10. > :23:15.knees up and jumpy, I started jumping up a and down, I thought -
:23:16. > :23:19.that will do. You were a true professional. You continued. Nobody
:23:20. > :23:23.would have noticed at home. Once you see t you suddenly see you getting
:23:24. > :23:27.it back. What do you do when something happens, it must happens
:23:28. > :23:32.to pros? It happens to the best of us. Happened to me in the past. Go
:23:33. > :23:36.with the flow as Claudia said, a couple of kicks, bounce a couple of
:23:37. > :23:42.times, flick it back up and nobody noticed. Bruno was saying how you
:23:43. > :23:47.took the lead with all the other pro dancers up there with you. How was
:23:48. > :23:52.it to dance with others, not just AJ? It was mazing, it wasn't just us
:23:53. > :23:56.two alone. They worked so hard, we only had an hour with them. We
:23:57. > :24:03.literally chucked them in, they learned it so quickly. It was so
:24:04. > :24:08.cool. I had my poscy with me, come on girls, let's go -- posse. They
:24:09. > :24:13.were amazing. The thing is you ended up in the middle of the leaderboard
:24:14. > :24:16.and we have seen, it was a dangerous place to be. Were you worried? I was
:24:17. > :24:22.scared. It was in the middle. Anybody could go and being in the
:24:23. > :24:25.middle people think they were safe. Four nines, any normal week you
:24:26. > :24:29.would be top but the standard was so hard. For us, we were a bit scared.
:24:30. > :24:34.We practised it a lot afterwards. That mistake was not going to happen
:24:35. > :24:37.again if we were in the dance-off and finding out we were in the
:24:38. > :24:44.dance-off we were a bit gutted. When Tess said, my little girl Nellie who
:24:45. > :24:51.loves you said "Great we get to see it again." We loved T it must be
:24:52. > :24:55.quite nice to be able to do it again, without a mistake, I know it
:24:56. > :24:59.is a tricky situation but it is a blessing? I secretly wanted to do it
:25:00. > :25:03.again because I did make that mistake, I really wanted to just
:25:04. > :25:06.nail T everyone was so happy after their performance because they did
