0:00:21 > 0:00:22Hello, old friend.
0:00:22 > 0:00:26It's leaning towards a score of '1' at the moment but look what happens
0:00:26 > 0:00:29when it sees that the likes of Jonnie & Oti and Gemma & Aljaz
0:00:29 > 0:00:34are in the building right now. And if it's live music you're

0:04:19 > 0:04:29# And in a funny way I'm calm.

0:06:01 > 0:06:02It's happening, people.
0:06:02 > 0:06:12But back to business.
0:06:13 > 0:06:16It's Friday night and I can confirm we are only 24 hours and 38 minutes
0:06:16 > 0:06:18away from the next live Strictly extravaganza!
0:06:18 > 0:06:20So with time very much of the essence, we sent
0:06:20 > 0:06:23the delectable Gethin to Strictly HQ to gather up all the
0:06:23 > 0:06:27behind-the-scenes intel.
0:06:27 > 0:06:31Welcome to the heart of the action in the Strictly ballroom where
0:06:31 > 0:06:35rehearsals are underway for the show tomorrow. No one needs reminding
0:06:35 > 0:06:41that Blackpool is eight days away and the class of 2017 are pulling
0:06:41 > 0:06:49out the stops. Susan and Kevin are doing a tango to Firework by Katy
0:06:49 > 0:06:59Perry. Let us take a look. How about that? Explosives, we love watching
0:06:59 > 0:07:02them downs. I am off to see who I can talk to and get myself on the
0:07:02 > 0:07:07guest list for Blackpool -- dance.
0:07:07 > 0:07:10What a man, what a beard, what a thirst for backstage knowledge.
0:07:10 > 0:07:13And there will be plenty more from Mr Jones later in the show!
0:07:13 > 0:07:17But right now, it's time to meet our first guests of the evening...
0:07:17 > 0:07:20As superstar DJs, these two brought a party to the Strictly dance floor
0:07:20 > 0:07:23and dropped a down right spicy Salsa while they were at it.
0:07:23 > 0:07:33It's Jonnie and Oti.
0:07:37 > 0:07:42I thought the lifts were spectacular. You have no fear and it
0:07:42 > 0:07:48is a fabulous attitude. Keep it up! You are finding rhythms that suit
0:07:48 > 0:07:54Jonnie Peacock. CHEERING AND APPLAUSE.
0:07:54 > 0:07:58MUSIC: Donna Summer - 'Hot Stuff'.
0:08:11 > 0:08:15Welcome to you wonderful people. I feel like I have not seen you for
0:08:15 > 0:08:16ages.
0:08:16 > 0:08:21That was one extra hot Salsa - did you enjoy the performance?
0:08:21 > 0:08:26It was better than the Cha Cha Cha. It was good fun. I was time to keep
0:08:26 > 0:08:33myself covered. As best I could.I do not know if that is what the
0:08:33 > 0:08:36people want. I think they are very excited.
0:08:36 > 0:08:39You've played a lot of characters these past few weeks -
0:08:39 > 0:08:41Pirate Jonnie, Indiana Jonnie, and who could forget
0:08:41 > 0:08:44Supermarket Sweep Jonnie - how did it feel to be Jonnie
0:08:44 > 0:08:46the Party Animal?
0:08:46 > 0:08:54It was good fun. I just tried to enjoy it.I think we really had fun.
0:08:54 > 0:08:59We really enjoyed it. We were screaming and having a good time.I
0:08:59 > 0:09:04could hear you at home.
0:09:04 > 0:09:05The scores were up to 27
0:09:05 > 0:09:07and the judges were impressed by Jonnie's armography,
0:09:07 > 0:09:10strength and those incredible lifts - were you happy?
0:09:10 > 0:09:18I was so happy. I really was. I was happy. He gave it is all and he is
0:09:18 > 0:09:25so shy. For him to just go out there and have fun because that is all he
0:09:25 > 0:09:30can do, that was amazing.Did you surprise yourself? I think so. This
0:09:30 > 0:09:36is one of the first dancers were I really knew the choreography,
0:09:36 > 0:09:40normally backstage, I am panicked about what steps are coming but this
0:09:40 > 0:09:45one it just happened and I try to throw myself into it, with the
0:09:45 > 0:09:50salsa, you have to have fun.We had so much fun watching you.
0:09:50 > 0:09:52Darcey also praised the way you handle Oti
0:09:52 > 0:09:55throwing herself at you' - it's a hard life - do you need us
0:09:55 > 0:10:03do you need us to have a quiet word with her?
0:10:03 > 0:10:08The lifts were good fun. They were really good fun. I think salsa is
0:10:08 > 0:10:16all about the woman. You have taught him well!
0:10:16 > 0:10:17Shirley
0:10:17 > 0:10:18said that you're
0:10:18 > 0:10:19finding 'rhythms that
0:10:19 > 0:10:23suit Jonnie Peacock'.
0:10:23 > 0:10:26How much do you adapt your choreography as you get
0:10:26 > 0:10:31to know your partner's strengths?
0:10:31 > 0:10:35We are finding our feet and knowing what works for us and how we can
0:10:35 > 0:10:40have fun, not where I am going crazy and he is looking at me like I am
0:10:40 > 0:10:48crazy.That is all the time! What is wrong with you? We are having fun.
0:10:48 > 0:10:54This week was nice, I was relaxed and chilled. Yes. I just look at
0:10:54 > 0:10:57him.This is amazing.
0:10:57 > 0:10:59We all want to know -
0:10:59 > 0:11:02have you taken Bruno up on his offer to help with those
0:11:02 > 0:11:03hip rotations yet?
0:11:03 > 0:11:06He told me not to say anything.
0:11:06 > 0:11:09You said up in the Clauditorium that you thought this
0:11:09 > 0:11:10dance was going to land
0:11:10 > 0:11:12you in the Dance-Off - why were you so worried?
0:11:12 > 0:11:21I don't know. Backstage it felt like it and I think, for me, my goal was
0:11:21 > 0:11:25Halloween and every week as a bonus, we are getting to the point where
0:11:25 > 0:11:29there are some seriously good people left and you feel like every week
0:11:29 > 0:11:34is. It has got to that part of the show were every time it is going to
0:11:34 > 0:11:42feel like you're going to go.
0:11:42 > 0:11:45Here at It Takes Two, we're always looking to gain new insight
0:11:45 > 0:11:46into your working dynamics....
0:11:46 > 0:11:49I knew it!
0:11:49 > 0:11:52This week, we learnt the pair of you have very
0:11:52 > 0:11:54different ways of warming up.
0:11:54 > 0:12:03Take a look at this.
0:12:06 > 0:12:11# It's my life. # My heart is like an open highway.
0:12:11 > 0:12:22It is from me. # It's my life!
0:12:22 > 0:12:32CHEERING AND APPLAUSE. It is so good. Brilliant, Bon Jovi.
0:12:32 > 0:12:33Have you ever
0:12:33 > 0:12:34considered auditioning
0:12:34 > 0:12:38to join Tommy and the gang?
0:12:38 > 0:12:44I love Bon Jovi. I am always trying to get our Bon Jovi song onto the
0:12:44 > 0:12:52show.It will happen, I am sure. This week, it is the foxtrot, are
0:12:52 > 0:13:01you excited?I am excited as Oti was right there. Obviously a couple of
0:13:01 > 0:13:01Latin numbers,
0:13:01 > 0:13:03right there. Obviously a couple of Latin numbers, it is nice to get
0:13:03 > 0:13:09back into the hold.We can hear the music, you're dancing to a Dell,
0:13:09 > 0:13:16it is a classic.
0:13:16 > 0:13:21MUSIC: Adele - 'Someone Like You'.
0:13:21 > 0:13:24She has had the music band.
0:13:24 > 0:13:29Is this song following you everywhere you go this week?
0:13:29 > 0:13:34I'm hearing it a lot in the training but that is always a good sign. It
0:13:34 > 0:13:40is a massive song and an amazing song and I hope I can do it justice.
0:13:40 > 0:13:43Bills and bills.
0:13:43 > 0:13:48Are you worried about the Dinosaur Bum returning?
0:13:48 > 0:13:56No, old Oti will come back.
0:13:56 > 0:13:59You are just one dance away from the Blackpool Tower -
0:13:59 > 0:14:03what would it mean to you to get a spot on that all important bus?
0:14:03 > 0:14:06I am just enjoying every Saturday. My goal is Halloween and every week
0:14:06 > 0:14:10after that is a bonus, Blackpool would be amazing.
0:14:10 > 0:14:14Give it up for Jonnie & Oti, everyone!
0:14:14 > 0:14:19CHEERING AND APPLAUSE. Brilliant.
0:14:19 > 0:14:21Next up, it's time for a behind-the-scenes look at this
0:14:21 > 0:14:23weekend's group number.
0:14:23 > 0:14:25And to commemorate Remembrance Day, the Strictly Pros are promising
0:14:25 > 0:14:32a routine we'll never forget.
0:14:32 > 0:14:38This week's Group Dance is an emotional and moving story in
0:14:38 > 0:14:43tribute to Remembrance Day. # There will be blue skies... My
0:14:43 > 0:14:46character is a wife waiting for her husband to come back from the water.
0:14:46 > 0:14:51As I am picking up his jacket and trying to remember and smell him, I
0:14:51 > 0:15:00go back and I am dancing with him in my imagination.
0:15:00 > 0:15:05# And though I'm far away... One of my favourite moments is when we
0:15:05 > 0:15:08start dancing with our men and suddenly they disappear and all we
0:15:08 > 0:15:15have left are the flowers and that represents all those who are the
0:15:15 > 0:15:21fallen of the war.We are playing the roles of two soldiers and we are
0:15:21 > 0:15:28at the back.Remembrance Day means so much to me, my father was serving
0:15:28 > 0:15:33and I was born in the barracks, I think people have lost someone or
0:15:33 > 0:15:41know someone in the service and it is a special time for everyone. This
0:15:41 > 0:15:45is a more contemporary style of ballroom dancing and it can really
0:15:45 > 0:15:48get emotional and obviously because this is such a sensitive and
0:15:48 > 0:15:56beautiful routine, we can really go there with our feelings.I was so
0:15:56 > 0:15:59proud to be a part of their stance and we hope you enjoy the routine on
0:15:59 > 0:16:04the weekend. -- so proud to be a part of this dance.
0:16:09 > 0:16:11Beautiful, isn't it?
0:16:11 > 0:16:13It's time now to welcome this week's esteemed Friday Panel.
0:16:13 > 0:16:16They needed to have star power, comedy chops and an encyclopedic
0:16:16 > 0:16:18knowledge of all-things-Strictly.
0:16:18 > 0:16:21And this week, they just so happen to ooze sex appeal too.
0:16:21 > 0:16:26Please go wild for Jeremy Vine, Anna Richardson and Nick Knowles!
0:16:26 > 0:16:28Music: 'We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off
0:16:28 > 0:16:31(To Have A Good Time).
0:16:40 > 0:16:45He returns! What an entrance, ladies and gentlemen! Welcome to the show,
0:16:45 > 0:16:55and our, what do you make of the class of 2017?They are very strong,
0:16:55 > 0:16:59but every year the standard is getting better and better, we are
0:16:59 > 0:17:05only halfway through and I'm already gobsmacked by the level.2015 was
0:17:05 > 0:17:09quite a good year...It was a very strong year, it is the return of
0:17:09 > 0:17:16Jeremy Vine! It was a very strong year, we are so excited to see you
0:17:16 > 0:17:20reunited with Karen Clifton, your old friends, Latin and ballroom, for
0:17:20 > 0:17:25the Christmas Special!I am so chuffed, I've been in touch with
0:17:25 > 0:17:29Karen, I will not say which dance but I'm looking forward to going
0:17:29 > 0:17:35back. She is a firm teacher! She is firm! She normally starts by saying
0:17:35 > 0:17:38"I want coffee! "
0:17:38 > 0:17:41firm! She normally starts by saying "I want coffee! ". We are friends,
0:17:41 > 0:17:47we catch up two or three times a week.Nick Knowles, we've had your
0:17:47 > 0:17:53album on in the dressing room this afternoon! Have you ever thought
0:17:53 > 0:17:56about DIY, doing it yourself strategic and dancing?When I was
0:17:56 > 0:18:02growing up, I was always dancing in my house, the eldest has a ballet
0:18:02 > 0:18:08school and my youngest sister was a dancer, my brother is a musician and
0:18:08 > 0:18:13writes musicals, I was the least talented in the family! Is it a yes
0:18:13 > 0:18:19or a no?It is a maybe!How exciting, I love your jumper, it is
0:18:19 > 0:18:27very warm in here!
0:18:27 > 0:18:28Let's start tonight
0:18:28 > 0:18:30with Davood and Nadiya - who are dancing a Charleston
0:18:30 > 0:18:31to the Lambeth Walk.
0:18:31 > 0:18:37This was your highest scoring dance - how's it looking?
0:18:37 > 0:18:45Tell me what you think at this stage... I am looking at his feet, I
0:18:45 > 0:18:52think that flapping pivot on the third, the ball of the foot thing.
0:18:52 > 0:18:57If he's doing that, he has been practising, I did not see much of it
0:18:57 > 0:19:02there. It is probably the wrong bit...The swivel?I never found out
0:19:02 > 0:19:07what it was called! She will be furious! This thing that you do with
0:19:07 > 0:19:11your feet, like that, that is the hardest thing for a non-dancer to
0:19:11 > 0:19:18do. I practised it everywhere, the bedroom, the lift, the floor, I got
0:19:18 > 0:19:23complaints at Radio 2 for walking like that everywhere! It is going to
0:19:23 > 0:19:28test them.I'm impressed that he knows this stuff...The thing is, I
0:19:28 > 0:19:33became obsessed with the charleston! When we all met for the first time
0:19:33 > 0:19:40in August, we did that. I kept practising it everywhere. For two
0:19:40 > 0:19:46seconds, it worked, literally! We will make him do it in a minute, we
0:19:46 > 0:19:51will have a demo...
0:19:51 > 0:19:52Susan and Kevin next.
0:19:52 > 0:19:55Last week they leapt up the leader board with an energetic
0:19:55 > 0:19:56Jive but were criticised for their painting
0:19:56 > 0:19:58and decorating skills.
0:19:58 > 0:20:01What do you make of their Tango?
0:20:01 > 0:20:05She looks great, she is one of the stories of the year. Your daughter,
0:20:05 > 0:20:11and Anna is in agreement with me. She has a proper chance. Everybody
0:20:11 > 0:20:15loves how she has thrown herself into it. It is difficult when your
0:20:15 > 0:20:18life is an comedy to throw yourself seriously into something without
0:20:18 > 0:20:19feeling uncomfortable. She looks great!
0:20:19 > 0:20:34CHEERING Anna, Jonnie Adams Oti are doing the
0:20:34 > 0:20:40Foxtrot. Are you looking forward to them doing the ballroom? We've not
0:20:40 > 0:20:43had it for a couple of weeks, Jonnie has been praised on his Latin, I
0:20:43 > 0:20:49think we will see a darker side to the Peacock this week...It sounds
0:20:49 > 0:20:58really naughty...She is lovely, infectiously bonkers!She has the
0:20:58 > 0:21:05tiniest waste, the longest legs and has brilliant choreography.
0:21:05 > 0:21:08Next up - Debbie and Giovanni who had the first perfect 40
0:21:08 > 0:21:10of the series last weekend - just where on the Swing-o-meter
0:21:10 > 0:21:14is their salsa sitting? where on the Swing-o-meter
0:21:14 > 0:21:17It's a crucial moment. I think that Debbie is going to win at this
0:21:17 > 0:21:22stage. I'm a pundit and I do politics but I've been wrong on
0:21:22 > 0:21:26everything for the last five years. Before Debbie I thought it would be
0:21:26 > 0:21:36Custom. To me...Aston, it is too soon!I thought that Aston,
0:21:36 > 0:21:42Alexandra and Debbie would be in the final. I cannot forget Craig's
0:21:42 > 0:21:42bowel, when he
0:21:46 > 0:21:55-- I cannot forget Craig's bow, when he comes out from behind the desk!
0:21:55 > 0:22:00The thing about Debbie, she has always been... And Debbie McGee.
0:22:00 > 0:22:09Paul Daniels and Debbie McGee. Now we are seeing her in her own right.
0:22:09 > 0:22:12It is brilliant. Joe and Katya are doing a Rumba, do you know a lot
0:22:12 > 0:22:19about that?This is slightly dangerous, isn't it?It is a little
0:22:19 > 0:22:25exposing...You could easily put something out... It is interestingly
0:22:25 > 0:22:31dangerous because it is a very stimulating, sexual kind of dance
0:22:31 > 0:22:36and you can irritate the audience. It is a fine line, to be sexy enough
0:22:36 > 0:22:40but not so much weight you go, I don't want to be watching this...It
0:22:40 > 0:22:52is like you on DIY SOS! Let's hope Joe isn't knocked out on the Rumba.
0:22:52 > 0:22:53These guys will return
0:22:53 > 0:22:54later in the show....
0:22:54 > 0:22:57But for now, give it up for our Friday Panel!
0:22:57 > 0:22:59Right, it's time to get to know our Strictly Pros
0:22:59 > 0:23:00a little bit better.
0:23:00 > 0:23:03And once again, when our team went to interview them...
0:23:03 > 0:23:05They were all found causing trouble down the local Bingo Hall.
0:23:05 > 0:23:06What are they like?
0:23:06 > 0:23:14Eyes down for Ballroom Bingo!
0:23:14 > 0:23:24Good evening, Strictly fans, eyes down. It is time for Ballroom Bingo!
0:23:27 > 0:23:32All aboard the Blackpool line, it is 59. Which pro gets most excited
0:23:32 > 0:23:38about going to Blackpool?I would have to say it is probably Chloe?
0:23:38 > 0:23:43Chloe loves Blackpool, she gets so excited about it.Giovanni, he says
0:23:43 > 0:23:48that Blackpool is so amazing... That isn't really Italian it is the best
0:23:48 > 0:23:54experience, you will love it! Anton... Anton... Anton Du Beke! He
0:23:54 > 0:23:58jokes that if he has made Blackpool on Strictly, it's an amazing year
0:23:58 > 0:24:04for him!He is the king of the ballroom, the King of Blackpool! He
0:24:04 > 0:24:09was there when Winter Gardens was built!Tickety-boo, it is number 62.
0:24:09 > 0:24:15Which is the happiest pro?I'm guessing it isn't me...Kevin is
0:24:15 > 0:24:20pretty happy, isn't he?Happy Kevin! Chloe always have a big smile on her
0:24:20 > 0:24:25face!She is always smiling and is so nice. Her smile goes to her ears!
0:24:25 > 0:24:29My nickname in the group is Little Miss Sunshine!Every morning,
0:24:29 > 0:24:35Janette has a smile on her face.I love her. It's between me and Aljaz.
0:24:35 > 0:24:41We are always laughing and happy. Myself and Aljaz.Aljaz Aljaz.
0:24:41 > 0:24:46Aljaz. He always has the biggest smile on his face no matter what is
0:24:46 > 0:24:55happening.Amy.Amy. Amy. She is very happy! Like she never stopped
0:24:55 > 0:25:02smiling.She smiles nonstop!Bingo! That's your lot, folks! Remember...
0:25:02 > 0:25:04Keep spinning!
0:25:09 > 0:25:16Look at these lovely people! It's like Top of the Pops!
0:25:16 > 0:25:18Right now, it's time to check in with Gethin for one
0:25:18 > 0:25:20of your recommended five-a-day of healthy backstage
0:25:20 > 0:25:21Strictly gossip.
0:25:21 > 0:25:24It's for your own good, people.
0:25:24 > 0:25:29That's my pretend microphone, like Top of the Pops!I found Debbie, Joe
0:25:29 > 0:25:33and Alexandra, otherwise known as the ten club!Three celebrities with
0:25:33 > 0:25:40a Number 10! Does that add pressure, now that you've got a ten in the
0:25:40 > 0:25:43bank, does it add pressure on a Saturday night? No, when it comes to
0:25:43 > 0:25:50Monday and you are the union -- you are learning a new dance it is like
0:25:50 > 0:25:54being at primary school, it is different.And you've had a real
0:25:54 > 0:25:59change from the joy and the fun... To the dance of love.I'm not loving
0:25:59 > 0:26:03the dance of love yet! But we like each other at the moment. Maybe it
0:26:03 > 0:26:08will be love at some point?Turning to love very quickly! Hopefully,
0:26:08 > 0:26:12that is the plan! The first Argentine tango of the year, that is
0:26:12 > 0:26:21for you.It's all about... Yes, get closer!I did hear that you've had
0:26:21 > 0:26:25to change a little bit today, is that true?We changed stuff last
0:26:25 > 0:26:32night. Because we have a lot of choreography on the stairs, which we
0:26:32 > 0:26:44have never done. Stairography is an actual word? I made it up!I'm
0:26:44 > 0:26:48actually really scared about this routine.I think it is the hardest
0:26:48 > 0:26:52one we've done. Everything is hard and this is the toughest one, the
0:26:52 > 0:26:57most challenging. I've got a lot of energy. Always hyper, this kind of
0:26:57 > 0:27:04dance you cannot have any. Gorka has a lot of energy, we are intense when
0:27:04 > 0:27:09we rehearse. He always has to say to both of us, I need to calm down and
0:27:09 > 0:27:15you need to calm down.Because your partners are not here, it's not
0:27:15 > 0:27:19often you get to be without them in the week, tell me about them,
0:27:19 > 0:27:25something we don't know?On a Thursday, when he is happy, and he
0:27:25 > 0:27:30thinks that I've got the dance, and he really relaxes... We start to
0:27:30 > 0:27:37sing together but neither of us can sing. If anybody saw what was on
0:27:37 > 0:27:44Instagram and Twitter yesterday...I saw that, it was terrible!Catty
0:27:44 > 0:27:51alike is to sing and also to teach people, when I've had enough, I tell
0:27:51 > 0:27:58them to teach the VAT team how to do a Viennese Waltz -- Katya.
0:27:58 > 0:28:05Alexandra, what about Gorka? He likes to look at the chest, he goes
0:28:05 > 0:28:10to The Mirror and goes, look at my chest! Now I don't see it. Before I
0:28:10 > 0:28:14used to be like, but your clothes on! He doesn't even notice that he
0:28:14 > 0:28:19does it! The thing is, it looks good! Now, because he does it so
0:28:19 > 0:28:26much I go, Gorka, your top is on the floor!LAUGHTER
0:28:26 > 0:28:35Are you excited about Blackpool? Yes! Absolutely. Thanks very much.
0:28:35 > 0:28:36Thanks Gethin.
0:28:36 > 0:28:39Now, as we all know, it's Remembrance Sunday this weekend.
0:28:39 > 0:28:42With that in mind, we sent Strictly favourite Frankie Bridge to meet
0:28:42 > 0:28:45a group of extraordinary veterans.
0:28:45 > 0:28:50In 1918, at 11am on the 11th day of the 11th month, World War I came to
0:28:50 > 0:28:59a close. The 11th of November has since become a day of remembrance
0:28:59 > 0:29:04where people all over the world paid tribute to those who have fallen and
0:29:04 > 0:29:11those still fighting in conflicts today. To mark the occasion I've
0:29:11 > 0:29:17come to meet a very special group of veterans.
0:29:17 > 0:29:21The Royal Hospital, Chelsea, has been serving as a retirement home to
0:29:21 > 0:29:26ex-soldiers for over 325 years. Today, this building is home to
0:29:26 > 0:29:33nearly 300 veterans. Well renowned as the Chelsea Pensioners,
0:29:33 > 0:29:40Remembrance Day holds a significance for many of these heroic retirees.
0:29:40 > 0:29:44Veteran Harry Patek was only nine years old when the Blitz started. We
0:29:44 > 0:29:49used to go out anywhere, and there would be an air raid. What you would
0:29:49 > 0:29:56do is look for a shelter and get into it. Hope for the best. D-Day
0:29:56 > 0:30:03itself, that was really something. I will never forget it. The sky was
0:30:03 > 0:30:10black with aeroplanes and riders going over to the continent.
0:30:10 > 0:30:14Frankie, veteran Alan Lee will soon be celebrating his 94th birthday.
0:30:14 > 0:30:18He joined the Army when he was just 14 years old and served as a
0:30:18 > 0:30:24paratrooper in World War II.
0:30:24 > 0:30:32I remembered the invasion of Germany. A lot of us died. The
0:30:32 > 0:30:37Germans were on the ground and all they had to do was pray the air with
0:30:37 > 0:30:41their machine guns.Or you not frightened just before you jumped
0:30:41 > 0:30:46out of the plane?Frightened is not the word, but you were apprehensive.
0:30:46 > 0:30:53In other words, you were thinking, let that ground come up quickly. We
0:30:53 > 0:30:57went to suss out this village but they have these machine gunners and
0:30:57 > 0:31:03they came around the corner and Cottbus. Three of us were wounded at
0:31:03 > 0:31:10the same time. My leg was at an angle of about 45 degrees so I
0:31:10 > 0:31:16picked it up and put it on the good leg and crawled into a culvert and
0:31:16 > 0:31:22eventually the medics came out to us. The surgeon came through and
0:31:22 > 0:31:29said, unfortunately, I had to take your leg off. It was so bad. I asked
0:31:29 > 0:31:41about the other two and they said unfortunately both had died.Today
0:31:41 > 0:31:46there is a special tea dance being held at the hospital, a chance for
0:31:46 > 0:31:54veterans to remember and commemorate what this day represents.
0:31:54 > 0:31:5795-year-old veteran George Skipper has fond memories of dancing with
0:31:57 > 0:32:04his late wife and he still enjoys a good dance today. When I went into
0:32:04 > 0:32:09the Army in 1940, I had the pick of the women because I could dance.
0:32:09 > 0:32:13What is your favourite style?The quickstep.That requires a lot of
0:32:13 > 0:32:23energy. I have got energy. I used to, anyway.Listening to the
0:32:23 > 0:32:26incredible stories of the veterans and what they went through so long
0:32:26 > 0:32:32ago is a reminder of the carriage and the bravery that is required of
0:32:32 > 0:32:37our Armed Forces both then and today. What does Remembrance Day
0:32:37 > 0:32:44mean to you?Well it means remembering, such a lot about the
0:32:44 > 0:32:48war and the people we sailed -- served with who are no longer
0:32:48 > 0:32:56around.I give Armistice Day the dignity it deserves. It reminds me
0:32:56 > 0:33:01of all the people who had served this country, who gave their lives
0:33:01 > 0:33:07for something they believed in. I think of the people that I knew, and
0:33:07 > 0:33:14there were a lot of them, who never came back.
0:33:14 > 0:33:16A big thank you to the Chelsea Pensioners
0:33:16 > 0:33:18and Frankie.
0:33:18 > 0:33:21Right now, it's time to meet my next guests of the night.
0:33:21 > 0:33:23At the weekend, they brought us Sun, Sea
0:33:23 > 0:33:24and one sensational Salsa - it's Gemma
0:33:24 > 0:33:34and Aljaz!
0:33:36 > 0:33:41I really loved the routine, I loved what you were going for.It was only
0:33:41 > 0:33:46when you got into that first left that it started to look laboured.
0:33:46 > 0:33:50Lovely rotation around at your centre and great coordination with
0:33:50 > 0:33:56the upper half of your body. CHEERING AND APPLAUSE.
0:34:12 > 0:34:19Hello! It is lovely to see you. Bruno said that your salsa was tasty
0:34:19 > 0:34:24and knotty and he said you have the right amount of space in there, how
0:34:24 > 0:34:30was this seasoning for you?I enjoyed it. Looking back, it felt
0:34:30 > 0:34:39better than it looked but I had such a lab. When he is happy, I am happy.
0:34:39 > 0:34:45You do not often seem unhappy. Viewers noticed that you were
0:34:45 > 0:34:52strapped up?We had quite a bad injury throughout the week and then
0:34:52 > 0:35:00in the dress rehearsal, my ribs kind of buckles, but I was fine after
0:35:00 > 0:35:03acupuncture and massage. I did not even tell my mother until after the
0:35:03 > 0:35:10show. I knew she would worry. We did not want it to be a reason why
0:35:10 > 0:35:17people did or did not vote us through. We decided to just do it
0:35:17 > 0:35:20but that first left... I could hardly breathe.
0:35:20 > 0:35:34APPLAUSE. You're such a brave girl. Low five! Getting injuries like
0:35:34 > 0:35:42that...It is my fault! It is frustrating, you have to do it so
0:35:42 > 0:35:57many times. That will be tough! You have to do it so many times because
0:35:57 > 0:36:00you want the lifts to go right on the night and you can only do that
0:36:00 > 0:36:07if you practice them and that first lift, I have never done that lift
0:36:07 > 0:36:17before.You said you had done it before! And now you have racked me.
0:36:17 > 0:36:24She can almost walk now. You told Claudia it had gone really well, but
0:36:24 > 0:36:31you got one of your lowest scores, what did you think of the five from
0:36:31 > 0:36:38Craig?If I am happy with the dance, and we know how much we loved it in
0:36:38 > 0:36:43rehearsals and that experience, the experience was lovely, it felt like
0:36:43 > 0:36:49a little party dance. At the end of the day, there was some constructive
0:36:49 > 0:36:54criticism. I know I should not say that, but I was not that bothered,
0:36:54 > 0:36:58because I loved the dance and we were enjoying ourselves and that is
0:36:58 > 0:37:07the important thing. CHEERING AND APPLAUSE. Also, you got
0:37:07 > 0:37:09a message.
0:37:09 > 0:37:10Forget about the judges, because your
0:37:10 > 0:37:12performance was noticed by actual Rudimental themselves...
0:37:12 > 0:37:14Look @MissGAtkinson using our song on @bbcstrictly 'last time we
0:37:14 > 0:37:16see her she had two left feet &
0:37:16 > 0:37:20danced like she had a big toe missing...
0:37:20 > 0:37:27That is so brilliant. Do you want to explain? The last time I saw them
0:37:27 > 0:37:31was that a festival and I was dancing in a wet field and I was not
0:37:31 > 0:37:37dancing well and when I said I was dancing to their song, they said,
0:37:37 > 0:37:40please, do it well!I think they are proud.
0:37:40 > 0:37:42It's time to leave the Salsa behind because
0:37:42 > 0:37:44tomorrow night, you are back in hold with
0:37:44 > 0:37:46a Viennese Waltz - dancing to this. are back in hold with
0:37:46 > 0:37:49MUSIC: "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me" - Dusty Springfield
0:37:49 > 0:37:59It is a winner!
0:38:09 > 0:38:16I am imagining you're not playing this for laughs, this is romantic.
0:38:16 > 0:38:24Giovanni's that is one I choreographed.A little bird told me
0:38:24 > 0:38:30that this might be your favourite so far.I think it is because, it is
0:38:30 > 0:38:35weird: it is quicker than the other ballrooms, the fact that it is done
0:38:35 > 0:38:43quicker, I like that. There is a lot more tactical footwork. When we did
0:38:43 > 0:38:48it this afternoon, the whole way around, he was shouting, flat, right
0:38:48 > 0:38:56in my ear. When you say flat, you cannot go rise and fall. What does
0:38:56 > 0:39:04that mean? The tango is completely flat, the foxtrot is more or less
0:39:04 > 0:39:11flat, but you do get a bit of rise and fall. It happens as you go. If
0:39:11 > 0:39:16you try and put it in, all you do is the rise and fall and you do not
0:39:16 > 0:39:22move a lot. If we think flat, and the rise and fall happens a little
0:39:22 > 0:39:27bit...When we are watching you, I will think that.
0:39:27 > 0:39:29There's an important dance move coming
0:39:29 > 0:39:30up this week that you have never faced
0:39:30 > 0:39:33before, Gemma - the Fleckerl.
0:39:33 > 0:39:40How has it gone. I think we have done it about 15 times and it went
0:39:40 > 0:39:48right about seven or eight. It is OK. I get one out of the way and
0:39:48 > 0:39:53think I have done it, but then you have to go the other way.I lift you
0:39:53 > 0:40:00up all it bit, you cannot really tell which one it is. Watch those
0:40:00 > 0:40:04ribs!Always. It looks stunning. Gemma and Alijaz.
0:40:04 > 0:40:22CHEERING AND APPLAUSE. I could not love them any more. We know what
0:40:22 > 0:40:23goes on in their training room.
0:40:23 > 0:40:25So, we know what goes on in their training
0:40:25 > 0:40:28room - but how are the rest of the gang
0:40:28 > 0:40:29getting on?
0:40:29 > 0:40:31It's time for a bumper-sized Training Update!
0:40:31 > 0:40:36The salsa is quite a free dance and you have to be quite loose. The more
0:40:36 > 0:40:42you relax, the better it is.I am not really a disco babe. I am
0:40:42 > 0:40:49digging deep for this stance. At this point in the competition, we
0:40:49 > 0:40:58cannot play safe. I am trying to get everything really hard for Debbie.
0:40:58 > 0:41:06We are really pushing the boundaries this week. I have got to be brave.
0:41:06 > 0:41:11My first tango and I love it.It is powerful and bold and it is
0:41:11 > 0:41:17incredible.We found ourselves in this position, if we get this right,
0:41:17 > 0:41:23we could be in Blackpool and that is a mass of thought.Come on.We are
0:41:23 > 0:41:31going to go for it with everything we have got.I'm trying my best. It
0:41:31 > 0:41:39will be a brilliant tango. We will do it again. It will not go wrong on
0:41:39 > 0:41:46Saturday night?I am feeling quite a lot of pressure with the foxtrot
0:41:46 > 0:41:51because I am dancing it with the king of ballroom and he says it is
0:41:51 > 0:41:57his favourite ballroom dance. This is nice. You want a pure movement
0:41:57 > 0:42:01across the floor, smooth, just follow me, do not think too much.I
0:42:01 > 0:42:07still find it really hard to remember choreographies. This one.
0:42:07 > 0:42:11We do it, I pick it up and then we do something else and come back and
0:42:11 > 0:42:16I cannot remember it.Why are you pushing me with the other arm?
0:42:16 > 0:42:21You're getting on my nerves. This week we are dancing the Argentine
0:42:21 > 0:42:27tango. She is getting frustrated with herself, she is putting a lot
0:42:27 > 0:42:34of pressure into the dance. Sometimes when I tell my brain to do
0:42:34 > 0:42:40something, the opposite happens with my legs.It is full of tricky and
0:42:40 > 0:42:46fast steps. One little mistake can throw away the whole routine.I want
0:42:46 > 0:42:51to get it right, I want to do Gorka proud and I think I need to relax
0:42:51 > 0:43:00more and go with the flow and let Gorka lead me.It is a funny one,
0:43:00 > 0:43:04the Rumba. It is completely different to any dance I have done.
0:43:04 > 0:43:11There is lots of hip and arm action. It is sort of the same steps over
0:43:11 > 0:43:14and over but slightly different and in different directions and that is
0:43:14 > 0:43:21hard to remember where you are. Blackpool is within touching
0:43:21 > 0:43:25distance, so the heat has been turned up. I am progressing quite
0:43:25 > 0:43:31slowly at the moment, but it is going to be fine, he said hopefully!
0:43:31 > 0:43:33Right, time to head back to Gethin now,
0:43:33 > 0:43:34who earlier today met the man responsible
0:43:34 > 0:43:36for all of Strictly's VTs.
0:43:36 > 0:43:41Let's hope Geth makes the cut.
0:43:41 > 0:43:46It is that time on a Friday when I wander around Elstree looking for
0:43:46 > 0:43:50the true unsung heroes of this effort and I have found one in Robin
0:43:50 > 0:43:57Lee. Thank you for your time. I know Friday is a very busy time. What is
0:43:57 > 0:44:02your title and what do you do on Strictly Come Dancing?I am the
0:44:02 > 0:44:06series producer and my responsibility is all of the DT
0:44:06 > 0:44:10content of the training they tease, all of the pre-titles, teasers for
0:44:10 > 0:44:16the theme weeks, everything you say that is not live in the studio is
0:44:16 > 0:44:24myself and my team.It is a huge effort and a big team, how many are
0:44:24 > 0:44:30there few?About 42 people on the team, we have got nine shooting
0:44:30 > 0:44:36teams of which, they are made up of a runner and a shooting producer or
0:44:36 > 0:44:44director. We have got a forward planning team, a wonderful
0:44:44 > 0:44:47production team, edit producers, editors, there are a lot of people.
0:44:47 > 0:44:53You're all over the country with the teams, filming dances and pros
0:44:53 > 0:44:57everywhere.It is quite a challenge to cover everyone, particularly
0:44:57 > 0:45:01early in the series as there are nine shooting teams and 15
0:45:01 > 0:45:10celebrities. Susan is in Glasgow, we have got Gemma who is in Manchester,
0:45:10 > 0:45:12Jonnie is in Loughborough, getting around them can be challenging and
0:45:12 > 0:45:19making sure that we have got enough training footage for every single
0:45:19 > 0:45:23couple.All the videos that we see are bit of fun, but there is usually
0:45:23 > 0:45:27a theme, what is the theme going into the show tomorrow night? This
0:45:27 > 0:45:33week it is slightly different from a normal week for the VTs because next
0:45:33 > 0:45:37week as Blackpool, all the celebrities really want to get to
0:45:37 > 0:45:41Blackpool because it is such an iconic dance location for ballroom
0:45:41 > 0:45:47dancing. They are working flat out in the training rooms and we are
0:45:47 > 0:45:52covering that and every single VT will be focusing on the
0:45:52 > 0:45:56technicalities of the dance and the challenges they are finding. It is
0:45:56 > 0:46:00usually quite emotional, the celebrities here so much about the
0:46:00 > 0:46:06amazing ballroom in Blackpool.I think Blackpool creates genuine
0:46:06 > 0:46:10emotion in the celebrities because it is such a big deal to get there
0:46:10 > 0:46:14and there are possibility of not making it is devastating for all of
0:46:14 > 0:46:20them.Do you ever have a tear in your diet watching it? Who wouldn't?
0:46:20 > 0:46:22Thank you for your time.
0:46:25 > 0:46:27It's time to get a bit emotional now,
0:46:27 > 0:46:29people.
0:46:29 > 0:46:31In just over 24 hours' time, you - the loyal
0:46:31 > 0:46:33Strictly viewers - will help decide which of
0:46:33 > 0:46:35our stars will be going on the package
0:46:35 > 0:46:37holiday of a lifetime to the Vegas of the
0:46:37 > 0:46:38North.
0:46:38 > 0:46:47Here's what it would mean to them...
0:46:47 > 0:46:51There is lots of reasons why Blackpool is the special week. The
0:46:51 > 0:46:56biggest part of it is dancing on the ballroom floor. The prose never stop
0:46:56 > 0:47:01talking about it so I want that experience too!Blackpool is the
0:47:01 > 0:47:07pinnacle of Strictly, it is one of those shows that everyone talks
0:47:07 > 0:47:14about. We just got to do this weekend as best as possible. To get
0:47:14 > 0:47:20to Blackpool would be extraordinary. It is possible. It is possible. To
0:47:20 > 0:47:26think that I could be there on that dance floor...To be able to invite
0:47:26 > 0:47:31all of my family to Blackpool, to watch myself and Aljaz dancing in
0:47:31 > 0:47:37the ballroom would be incredible. Everybody knows how big a deal it
0:47:37 > 0:47:41is, whether you are in the competition or watching at home, we
0:47:41 > 0:47:44are in touching distance of Blackpool now. To be part of it
0:47:44 > 0:47:51would be an honour and a privilege and I would love to make it.It
0:47:51 > 0:47:56would mean everything to get Blackpool. For goodness' sake, that
0:47:56 > 0:48:01is like the Emerald city. It is an unknown world of joy to get there.
0:48:01 > 0:48:11It would be unbelievable. We are working so hard, and it is so
0:48:11 > 0:48:19iconic. It's what everybody dreams of. It would be a dream come true.I
0:48:19 > 0:48:23never imagined getting this far in the competition. To get you dancing
0:48:23 > 0:48:29in such an important place in the dance world, it would be fantastic.
0:48:29 > 0:48:33To survive this week and make it to Blackpool would be a dream. The fact
0:48:33 > 0:48:39that Blackpool is so close, being a part of that and adding it to your
0:48:39 > 0:48:42journey would be a massive achievement. All I can say is
0:48:42 > 0:48:48fingers crossed that we get there!
0:48:48 > 0:48:50Right, time now to talk about the rest of
0:48:50 > 0:48:51our couples...
0:48:51 > 0:48:59They have come home to me - it's the Friday Panel everyone!
0:48:59 > 0:49:05Can I say, my three-year-old son is watching this, do you mind if I tell
0:49:05 > 0:49:12him to go to bed! Eddie, good night, go to bed!
0:49:12 > 0:49:17Ruth Ann and on doing a Foxtrot to the knife, what do you like most
0:49:17 > 0:49:25about this couple?Ruth and Anton, they are Saturday night
0:49:25 > 0:49:31entertainment. I would love to be Ruth in one-year's time. I would
0:49:31 > 0:49:37love to be her. She's an extraordinary and graceful dancer, I
0:49:37 > 0:49:42don't think she knows how graceful she is.I hope that she is watching!
0:49:42 > 0:49:47And she's a graceful person. A lovely person with a really good
0:49:47 > 0:49:53heart.Recovering from that incident last week... She just enjoyed it.
0:49:53 > 0:49:57Everyone at home, we were saying, we hope you are not in pain over this.
0:49:57 > 0:50:02It was beautiful!Alexandra and Gorka take on the first Argentine
0:50:02 > 0:50:11tango! Jeremy, are you excited to see what these two have in store?
0:50:11 > 0:50:15Absolutely, Alexandra is a stunning dancer. She is extraordinary. I
0:50:15 > 0:50:20think the one danger for her is that because she is nailing it every
0:50:20 > 0:50:25week, people start to see it as a bit efficient. They do not see any
0:50:25 > 0:50:29progression. That's one danger but she is someone, when she comes out,
0:50:29 > 0:50:35you do not worry on the edge of your sofa. You enjoy every performance
0:50:35 > 0:50:43from her. Mollie and AJ, they are doing a Paso Doble.Sexy dance...It
0:50:43 > 0:50:49is quite a fierce dogs...A fierce and sexy dance? In the movie the guy
0:50:49 > 0:50:56comes round and he says this is a Paso Doble, but then they go no,
0:50:56 > 0:51:00this is a Paso Doble! We don't want to see them in the bottom to again
0:51:00 > 0:51:07this week. I would love to see them in Blackpool. Do they look safe?It
0:51:07 > 0:51:11can go two ways when you have had a bad week, it can crush you or you
0:51:11 > 0:51:15come out fighting and really go for it. I think they are a couple who
0:51:15 > 0:51:20will come out fighting and go for it. I think they will nail it.The
0:51:20 > 0:51:28Paso Doble is AJ's favourite dance. It was a dance where you use a lot
0:51:28 > 0:51:32of neck and head movement. Peter Andre put on an enormous beard. It
0:51:32 > 0:51:36was quite a good way of dealing with that. Are you saying that she should
0:51:36 > 0:51:38wear a beard?That would be interesting!Jimmy
0:51:46 > 0:51:52-- Jamelia a couple of years ago was inside in a row. I say to Mollie,
0:51:52 > 0:52:01not to worry about it. Jamelia was quite enjoying it!Aljaz and Gemma,
0:52:01 > 0:52:06she took a fall and hurt her ribs last week. Is this her comeback
0:52:06 > 0:52:13dance?Now, Gemma, as we have seen today, she is a statuesque, muscular
0:52:13 > 0:52:18and very fit girl. She is tall and I do not think she realises how
0:52:18 > 0:52:22graceful she is. Last week, you know, with the left and everything,
0:52:22 > 0:52:26she had hurt her ribs that an incredibly graceful dancer. I would
0:52:26 > 0:52:31be interested to see how she manages the dance.Fantastic, that routine,
0:52:31 > 0:52:35if they get it right, they could go through to Blackpool, could they
0:52:35 > 0:52:42make it?Absolutely. I did not realise the thing with her ribs
0:52:42 > 0:52:44until you mentioned it which explains the fumble over the left.
0:52:44 > 0:52:47They were both dreading it. The two painful things about struck me come
0:52:47 > 0:52:55dancing, going out the week before Blackpool and in week one. -- one of
0:52:55 > 0:53:04the painful things about Strictly. Who should go home? They've all been
0:53:04 > 0:53:12brilliant... But I worry a little bit for Ruth, there might get the
0:53:12 > 0:53:19feeling that Aston shouldn't have gone home.I think Debbie McGee! No.
0:53:19 > 0:53:23I think possibly Mollie. And if Alexandra has a dip so it doesn't do
0:53:23 > 0:53:26that perfectly, I think it's possible she might not get the vote
0:53:26 > 0:53:31to survive from the audience... I think that is what happened to
0:53:31 > 0:53:36Aston. He had an off moment with the judges and the audience wasn't
0:53:36 > 0:53:40enough to bring them through.
0:53:40 > 0:53:42Let's hear it for our Friday panel!
0:53:42 > 0:53:44Right, for the final time tonight let's head
0:53:44 > 0:53:46back to Strictly HQ to see what happened
0:53:46 > 0:53:48when our Geth got up close and personal
0:53:48 > 0:53:49with Brendan, Pasha and Neil.
0:53:49 > 0:53:51That guy has all the luck...
0:53:51 > 0:53:53I was wondering through the corridors looking for some new
0:53:53 > 0:53:56threads for Blackpool but I've come across an old friends, how was it
0:53:56 > 0:54:05going? You found us! No high-fiving, an awkward start! Lovely too CE.
0:54:05 > 0:54:11There's a lot of nerves around the place, have you noticed that? Some
0:54:11 > 0:54:16of them, I'm fine, how about your partner? My partner is fine. You get
0:54:16 > 0:54:20to Blackpool, it is weird, they hype Blackpool that so much in the lead
0:54:20 > 0:54:23up to the show. You will see a lot of tension around today and
0:54:23 > 0:54:29tomorrow.It is a huge milestone. The celebrities want to get there
0:54:29 > 0:54:36even though it is very cold! And after Blackpool everybody starts to
0:54:36 > 0:54:40focus on the Christmas show! That is next, the Christmas Special! Who
0:54:40 > 0:54:46have you got?Judy Murray.How is she going?We are working on her...
0:54:46 > 0:54:53It is going to be a good surprise! He's being kind, she's got great
0:54:53 > 0:54:59stuff going on with her feet and her legs... Which are you doing? The Cha
0:54:59 > 0:55:10Cha Cha, charleston, Foxtrot, then...But Niall can do it. You are
0:55:10 > 0:55:15dancing with Katie Derham, who was with Anton. You have to go one
0:55:15 > 0:55:21better!She is a beautiful dancer. It is nice to know that she has got
0:55:21 > 0:55:26more to learn from me then she did with Anton! And Kimberley for me! It
0:55:26 > 0:55:34is like we've never not danced together. It is five years.I think
0:55:34 > 0:55:39the boys are looking forward to this. Happy Christmas lights. You
0:55:39 > 0:55:43both have Anton's partner. You are well trained and ahead of the game.
0:55:43 > 0:55:48Final word from Pasha, back to you!
0:55:48 > 0:55:49That's all we have time for tonight!
0:55:49 > 0:55:52Thanks to my guests and make sure you catch all
0:55:52 > 0:55:53the action with Tess and Claud tomorrow
0:55:53 > 0:55:55night at 6.45 on BBC One.
0:55:55 > 0:55:58I'll be back on Monday with the next couple to leave the competition.
0:55:58 > 0:56:00But now, singing us out with their brand
0:56:00 > 0:56:05new single 'S.O.S.', it's The Corrs!
0:56:10 > 0:56:14# There's pain on the border as far as the eyes can't see
0:56:14 > 0:56:18# And hell's getting busy while we're in the cheap seats
0:56:18 > 0:56:24# My girl in a tutu, boy shoes too big for her feet
0:56:24 > 0:56:29# How many lies long until we admit what we see
0:56:29 > 0:56:34# Blame it on love until we admit what we see
0:56:34 > 0:56:38# Blame it on sorrow
0:56:38 > 0:56:40# Blame it on a star
0:56:40 > 0:56:43# That fell too soon
0:56:43 > 0:56:46# Or Jupiter calling
0:56:46 > 0:56:47# I can hear them cry
0:56:47 > 0:56:51# Someone help
0:56:57 > 0:57:07# SOS, Someone help
0:57:12 > 0:57:15# They say the victims are dangerous
0:57:15 > 0:57:18# What a bitter excuse
0:57:18 > 0:57:22# Because now we are complicit believing a lie is the truth
0:57:22 > 0:57:25# Doll in the water
0:57:25 > 0:57:28# Her hair out like tendrils
0:57:28 > 0:57:32# That it's only a bad day that I've ever rescued
0:57:32 > 0:57:36# Blame it on love
0:57:36 > 0:57:42# Blame it on sorry
0:57:42 > 0:57:44# Blame it on a star
0:57:44 > 0:57:46# That fell too soon
0:57:46 > 0:57:50# Or Jupiter calling
0:57:50 > 0:57:57# I can hear them cry
0:57:57 > 0:58:00# SOS, Someone help
0:58:00 > 0:58:11# SOS, Someone help
0:58:30 > 0:58:37# SOS, Someone help
0:58:37 > 0:58:47# SOS, Someone help
0:58:49 > 0:58:57# I still hear the cry #
