0:00:12 > 0:00:16Right, I'm on the Friday panel and I've been tasked
0:00:16 > 0:00:19with finding a host - we've not got much time left so give me
0:00:19 > 0:00:20what you've got.
0:00:20 > 0:00:25I was once strapped to the sails of a
0:00:25 > 0:00:27windmill upside down.
0:00:27 > 0:00:29I can make a Tracey Island using
0:00:29 > 0:00:32an old cereal box and some p.v.a glue.
0:00:32 > 0:00:35It's Blackpool week, so here's a donkey I made earlier.
0:00:35 > 0:00:39Actually that's quite impressive
0:00:39 > 0:00:42And what are your credentials?
0:00:42 > 0:00:43Erm, I've only hosted 387 episodes.
0:00:43 > 0:00:45Yeah but Radzi here made a donkey.
0:00:45 > 0:00:49Fair point.
0:01:56 > 0:01:57Welcome in an Zoe
0:02:02 > 0:02:06welcome your host, Zoe Ball!
0:02:06 > 0:02:09Hello and welcome to It Takes Two!
0:02:09 > 0:02:11Where the pleasure beach is all ours!
0:02:11 > 0:02:15Yes, we can't be beside the seaside so we've brought the seaside to us -
0:02:15 > 0:02:16donkeys, deck chairs, the works.
0:02:16 > 0:02:19Can I also say a massive thank you to Gethin Jones who was
0:02:19 > 0:02:21holding the fort while I was away.
0:02:21 > 0:02:24Just 24 hours, 42 minutes and 44 seconds until the live Blackpool
0:02:24 > 0:02:28extravaganza.
0:02:28 > 0:02:30We could not be more excited.
0:02:30 > 0:02:33Coming up, Kelly Brook, Nikki Fox and Jason Manford give us
0:02:33 > 0:02:36their verdict on this year's contenders, and Mr Manford will be
0:02:36 > 0:02:37singing for us, too!
0:02:37 > 0:02:39Plus, let's not forget it's Children in Need night!
0:02:39 > 0:02:48We'll be speaking to three Blue Peter legends, all in contention
0:02:48 > 0:02:54for the Pudsey Glitter Ball trophy.
0:02:54 > 0:02:57But now, we might be over 200 miles south of the Tower Ballroom,
0:02:57 > 0:03:01And we just so happen to know a guy who's always in the right place
0:03:01 > 0:03:03at the right time - over to you Gethin!
0:03:03 > 0:03:09Tomorrow night promises to be the greatest show on Earth. Halloween
0:03:09 > 0:03:16wasn't so scary, but this is what they have all been focused on. They
0:03:16 > 0:03:20are all in the ballroom now doing their last-minute preparations for
0:03:20 > 0:03:28the show and I will grab a word with them. I'll see you in a bit.
0:03:28 > 0:03:32CHEERING
0:03:32 > 0:03:35Now, when it comes to spectacular group numbers there's no better
0:03:35 > 0:03:37setting than the Tower Ballroom, where this weekend our pros
0:03:37 > 0:03:39will recreate some of that Northern Soul magic.
0:03:39 > 0:03:43Here's a look at rehearsals at the modern-day Blackpool Mecca.
0:03:43 > 0:03:48It Takes two, get ready, because we have a huge treat for you in
0:03:48 > 0:03:55Blackpool. Something totally different. This time, Northern Soul.
0:03:55 > 0:04:00Blackpool isn't just famous for ballroom dancing, it's one of the
0:04:00 > 0:04:03original homes for Northern Soul. Every year we are looking for
0:04:03 > 0:04:07something different. We always take people back to where things came
0:04:07 > 0:04:15from. So this is an opportunity to create a link between ballroom and
0:04:15 > 0:04:19Northern Soul.We're also getting the involved, as well.Blackpool
0:04:19 > 0:04:29will be very full. -- also getting the dads involved, as well. It's
0:04:29 > 0:04:34been going on since the 70s. It's very subjective, it is how you feel
0:04:34 > 0:04:39the music, there are no rules whatsoever. My favourite part is any
0:04:39 > 0:04:49bit I'm in. I like a bit of street. I like getting cool, down, a bit of
0:04:49 > 0:04:53Northern Soul, do you know what I mean?My favourite part is when the
0:04:53 > 0:04:58girl is in the centre just spinning on her head. That's amazing! This is
0:04:58 > 0:05:03going to be huge. We are not even doubling up, we are tripling up on
0:05:03 > 0:05:06the amount of dancers. This could be one of strictly bugs biggest group
0:05:06 > 0:05:15numbers of all time -- Strictly's biggest group numbers of all time.I
0:05:15 > 0:05:20will be bringing the Northern.I'll be bringing the soul.See you in
0:05:20 > 0:05:21Blackpool!
0:05:22 > 0:05:24So, we've got beach balls, sand castles,
0:05:24 > 0:05:25and did I mention the donkey?
0:05:25 > 0:05:27But if this show is missing anything, it's three
0:05:27 > 0:05:28Strictly super fans.
0:05:28 > 0:05:35Put your hands together for Kelly Brook, Nikki Fox and Jason Manford!
0:05:35 > 0:05:40CHEERING Welcome.
0:05:40 > 0:05:42Jason, you're the closest thing we've got to a Blackpool expert.
0:05:42 > 0:05:44What's so special about the Vegas of the North?
0:05:44 > 0:05:51It is our Vegas. It is as close as you can get. You've never been.
0:05:51 > 0:06:00Never been. He was really selling it.Really? He said forget Vegas, go
0:06:00 > 0:06:03to Blackpool. She said is it like Margate, I said nothing is like
0:06:03 > 0:06:08Margate. It has heritage. It is where all of our old entertainers
0:06:08 > 0:06:15used to go for summer season. It's a great night out generally. It is
0:06:15 > 0:06:21putting a foot in the past, I love it.My family went to Blackpool and
0:06:21 > 0:06:28we saw Brian Conley.Walking around? Doing a show?He was doing a show.I
0:06:28 > 0:06:32love that, we miss you, Brian... And Aston, we will have to mention all
0:06:32 > 0:06:34of them now.
0:06:34 > 0:06:38You're going to be performing for us at the end of the show.
0:06:38 > 0:06:40What a treat. APPLAUSE
0:06:40 > 0:06:44We know you can sing, but can you dance?
0:06:44 > 0:06:48Comes up a lot on this show. There is a difference between being able
0:06:48 > 0:06:53to dance and learn choreography. I can do that. But I wouldn't, if I
0:06:53 > 0:06:58was in a wedding party, that isn't me.OK.
0:06:58 > 0:07:01Kelly, we know you can dance!
0:07:01 > 0:07:03Welcome back.
0:07:03 > 0:07:07What are you making of the current crop?
0:07:07 > 0:07:13I think they are incredible. We were watching it on Saturday. My partner
0:07:13 > 0:07:18said, who is the professional, who is the salinity? He is from France,
0:07:18 > 0:07:25he didn't know, and it was Alexandra's Argentine Tango. -- who
0:07:25 > 0:07:29is the celebrity? My jaw hit the ground. She has learnt to do that in
0:07:29 > 0:07:33a week. People don't understand, it's so difficult, every week is
0:07:33 > 0:07:38like starting from scratch. Even if you had experience...And she is
0:07:38 > 0:07:48smashing it. My cheap jacket has got stuck...
0:07:48 > 0:07:50CHUCKLES
0:07:50 > 0:07:53Nikki, you're a self-confessed Strictly nerd, what level of fandom
0:07:53 > 0:07:54are we talking about here?
0:07:54 > 0:08:00Do you have autographs of all of the judges?I am a huge fan. So my
0:08:00 > 0:08:04family. They are here today. They are our favourite audience members,
0:08:04 > 0:08:10they are very loud. They have never cared about anything I've ever done,
0:08:10 > 0:08:16but It Takes two, they are here. I am a huge fan. In my head, obviously
0:08:16 > 0:08:21I cannot dance... Not at all, but in my head it would be with Kevin, if I
0:08:21 > 0:08:24could.With Kevin? Dreams can come true.
0:08:24 > 0:08:29Let's take a look at our couples now.
0:08:29 > 0:08:31First up, it's Joe and Katya, they're dancing the Salsa
0:08:31 > 0:08:32to 'Ride on time'.
0:08:32 > 0:08:40Often labelled a dark horse. A unicorn.
0:08:40 > 0:08:43Where is this young stallion in the running for you?
0:08:43 > 0:08:45Extra dancers, as well.
0:08:45 > 0:08:48# Ride On Time - Black Box #
0:08:48 > 0:08:52He stays in the middle. You don't know which Joe is turning up.
0:08:55 > 0:09:00That looks good, just there. Are you liking that?
0:09:00 > 0:09:03CHEERING Lots of Joe van into night. Every
0:09:03 > 0:09:04contingency.
0:09:04 > 0:09:06They've got a 90's theme going on.
0:09:06 > 0:09:10Do you think they're going to get the judges raving?
0:09:10 > 0:09:14I think so. It looks like he is getting all of the moves. You need
0:09:14 > 0:09:18to put energy in. I love the storytelling this year. Everything
0:09:18 > 0:09:22has a good narrative. Even if they can't do the steps, they have so
0:09:22 > 0:09:25much expression. LAUGHTER
0:09:25 > 0:09:30Not naming any names. He is a good actor. Lastly, such a good actor,
0:09:30 > 0:09:37you were just in there. That rumba.
0:09:37 > 0:09:41Next up, it's Jonnie and Oti, they were in the bottom two last week.
0:09:41 > 0:09:42He was in trouble last week.
0:09:42 > 0:09:44Can their Tango keep them safe?
0:09:44 > 0:09:47# Sweet Dreams - Eurythmics #
0:09:47 > 0:09:56Amazing team. I am a bit of a traditionalist. -- amazing song.
0:09:56 > 0:10:00He's got to bring it. He could be in danger of being in the bottom two.
0:10:00 > 0:10:06Come on, Jonnie. This could be his dance, though.I thought it looked
0:10:06 > 0:10:13moody.And he is with Oti.It is difficult for the boys, as well,
0:10:13 > 0:10:16because they have to lead the girl. When you are a girl in the show, you
0:10:16 > 0:10:22get dragged around. You get so disorientated. I don't know where I
0:10:22 > 0:10:25am, I could be in any country right now, but the boys have to guide, so
0:10:25 > 0:10:36it is harder.It is.
0:10:38 > 0:10:42# Live And Let Die - Wings #
0:10:42 > 0:10:48I can see his confidence growing every week. He looks in the zone, so
0:10:48 > 0:10:53intense, I love that.And that's Tuesday. If he is that good on
0:10:53 > 0:10:58Tuesday, imagine.You have been paying attention.
0:10:58 > 0:11:02Alexandra and Gorka now.
0:11:02 > 0:11:09Is that a positive? Here they are in training, how is she looking?
0:11:09 > 0:11:13# We're In The Money (The Gold Digger's Song) #
0:11:13 > 0:11:16It is difficult for Alexandra. She has had the training. She has been
0:11:16 > 0:11:22in the West End. But when you turn up, it is learn it and get it done.
0:11:22 > 0:11:29She has nailed it every single time. Could it be 40 for her? She hasn't
0:11:29 > 0:11:34got it yet.I think so and so does my mum. What is your mum's name?
0:11:34 > 0:11:41Stephanie.Stephanie knows her stuff. Thank you for your views, we
0:11:41 > 0:11:44will be talking about the rest of the couple 's late in the show, but
0:11:44 > 0:11:55first, give it up for my panel! CHEERING
0:11:57 > 0:12:02Look who I have found, Susan, Mollie, and Jonnie, who I know are
0:12:02 > 0:12:06very excited about tomorrow night. Susan, your Joanne Clifton's dream,
0:12:06 > 0:12:11a five-year paso doble in the making, are you nervous?Yes, but I
0:12:11 > 0:12:15am excited. It has been Kevin's dream for more than five years, the
0:12:15 > 0:12:22paso doble a from Strictly Ballroom. I have to look at him with passion,
0:12:22 > 0:12:28I had to imagine he is a bowl of macaroni cheese. That works. Extra
0:12:28 > 0:12:33dancers, as well, how are you dealing with that?It is meant to be
0:12:33 > 0:12:37like a come dancing competition and they all said yes please.Very
0:12:37 > 0:12:42Strictly. Jonnie, you are used to big stadiums, how does Blackpool
0:12:42 > 0:12:47compare?Slightly different. It's amazing. Everybody has been talking
0:12:47 > 0:12:51about it for ages. To make it here is incredible. You feel something
0:12:51 > 0:12:56special. It adds adrenaline. The first time you walk into this
0:12:56 > 0:12:59ballroom, it just adds a little bit of fire. Hopefully we can add that
0:12:59 > 0:13:06to that of the dance. We talked about in the week, does it work?I
0:13:06 > 0:13:10hit the roof, I put my blade on, it is extra bouncy, so I end up in the
0:13:10 > 0:13:15roof.We wondered where had gone. You could be flying with your
0:13:15 > 0:13:24Charleston.Yes. I don't know where I will end up, maybe in the judges'
0:13:24 > 0:13:28laps. Maybe that'll get me a better score. How are you managing with the
0:13:28 > 0:13:33lifts?I'm all over the place. We managed it once. Hopefully we can do
0:13:33 > 0:13:39it on the live show, fingers crossed. When do I get to meet Nanna
0:13:39 > 0:13:44king?She is 93. It is a bit of a long way for her. We went to her and
0:13:44 > 0:13:48gave her the Charleston in the living room. Thanks, guys, get back
0:13:48 > 0:13:53to rehearsal. Thanks. Love to Nanna if she is watching at
0:13:53 > 0:13:55home.
0:13:55 > 0:13:58Now, for this year's Children in Need, Blue Peter presenters
0:13:58 > 0:14:00past and present took to the Strictly Ballroom
0:14:00 > 0:14:02to compete for the Pudsey Glitter Ball trophy.
0:14:02 > 0:14:04Without revealing too much, three of them are here tonight!
0:14:04 > 0:14:09Please welcome Mark Curry, Anthea Turner and Radzi Chinyanganya!
0:14:09 > 0:14:11CHEERING
0:14:22 > 0:14:28Mark, my favourite blue Peter presenter. Don't take offence! We
0:14:28 > 0:14:30all have our favourites.
0:14:30 > 0:14:34Blue Peter is celebrating it's 60th anniversary!
0:14:34 > 0:14:38Could you diamond ju-believe it?
0:14:38 > 0:14:44I was not presenting it then.You were not, let's make a point.That
0:14:44 > 0:14:52would have been 1958 it would have been... Christopher Trace. Nina
0:14:52 > 0:15:00Williams who was Miss Great Britain and he got a job because the BBC
0:15:00 > 0:15:02wanted everybody to be proper.Which all of you were.
0:15:02 > 0:15:05Tim Vincent, Diane Lousie Jordan and Konnie Huq also joined you.
0:15:05 > 0:15:07What was it like getting the old gang back together,
0:15:07 > 0:15:09and for such a good cause?
0:15:09 > 0:15:14It was fabulous. It was like a meeting of the school. We couldn't
0:15:14 > 0:15:19stop talking. Did we get round to dancing? Just a little bit. It was
0:15:19 > 0:15:24like trying to control the kids.So much to discuss, all of those
0:15:24 > 0:15:29challenges, when I jumped out of a plane...We didn't want to compete,
0:15:29 > 0:15:36we wanted to dance together, that was the great bit.Radzi, the year
0:15:36 > 0:15:46you were born, Mark started presenting. You also nailed my
0:15:46 > 0:15:52surname live on TV.Thank you! APPLAUSE
0:15:52 > 0:15:56It's a beautiful surname. How excited were you when you got
0:15:56 > 0:16:07the call?Massively, it is Children In Need, and for Blue Peter, so yes.
0:16:07 > 0:16:10You all danced together, then you get 30 seconds each to impress the
0:16:10 > 0:16:17judges.It was the longest 30 seconds I have spent in my life!
0:16:17 > 0:16:28Amazing music to dance to as well.
0:16:29 > 0:16:41Jill Halfpenny did one, how great was it to pay homage?I was
0:16:41 > 0:16:48thinking, "Energy, energy! Point!"
0:16:51 > 0:16:57On the Tuesday morning, we had done a routine, there were good lifts,
0:16:57 > 0:17:01Brendan was lifting and throwing, and I think we were going to do a
0:17:01 > 0:17:07little, and I dropped her... I had time to turn my face, and Bruce
0:17:07 > 0:17:12might cheat, but she fell face first. Were the teeth all right? She
0:17:12 > 0:17:17went like that... One came out... LAUGHTER
0:17:17 > 0:17:21Before you tell me more stories, here is a look at what went on
0:17:21 > 0:17:24behind the scenes.
0:17:26 > 0:17:30It's the Blue Peter 60th anniversary this year, and we are performing a
0:17:30 > 0:17:35jive, and competing for the Pudsey Trophy. We all haven't been in the
0:17:35 > 0:17:40same room together for five years. It is a lot of catching up.I am
0:17:40 > 0:17:45excited. I used to watch the show all the time, toilet rolls,
0:17:45 > 0:17:50washing-up bottles.You know them all then?Yes!
0:17:50 > 0:17:55I am just about to try my frock on and, all I can say is, here is one I
0:17:55 > 0:18:00made earlier.I was excited when I got the shoes, but now we have
0:18:00 > 0:18:03got...
0:18:04 > 0:18:13That is lovely, Sir, go through there. You look fantastic.
0:18:13 > 0:18:19All I can hear in my head is, "one, two, three, four, five, six, seven,
0:18:19 > 0:18:248:.." All the ladies might be taking up
0:18:24 > 0:18:31all the seats in the make-up room. The boys are in the corridor.Smash
0:18:31 > 0:18:36it, good luck.Thank you, thank you, thank you.
0:18:36 > 0:18:40I find the routine fast, really fast, it is loads of energy in a
0:18:40 > 0:18:44short time.Having kids here is the best in the world. The energy is
0:18:44 > 0:18:48fantastic, and we will love dancing in front of them.Live in five
0:18:48 > 0:18:52minutes for our children In Need spectacular.
0:18:54 > 0:18:58I'm really looking forward to Radzi dancing, because he's my favourite
0:18:58 > 0:19:01Blue Peter presenter.
0:19:03 > 0:19:12I'm like a coiled spring ready to go.Showtime! Children In Need time!
0:19:12 > 0:19:21Tune in to see how Blue Peter gets on in there.Remember, keep giving!
0:19:23 > 0:19:31It looks so much fun. And injuries, Anthea.Diane-Louise Jordan, smiling
0:19:31 > 0:19:37away, cracked two rips practising a lift. This is how dangerous it is.
0:19:37 > 0:19:44Foolish! You did all sorts of singing and dancing, but did you
0:19:44 > 0:19:49ever jive, Mark?I never jive. You think you can dance, then when you
0:19:49 > 0:19:54are working with the pros, you realise you can't. There is so much
0:19:54 > 0:19:58to it. Things like, Amy said to me, when you put your hand on my back,
0:19:58 > 0:20:03don't splay your fingers. Craig doesn't like it.So much to
0:20:03 > 0:20:10remember. Anthea, you does with veteran Brendan. He said to me,
0:20:10 > 0:20:15apart from bending your knees, he said the problem is I am a show
0:20:15 > 0:20:26dancer.Charming!I am just a bit of a... Jazz hands.That is how I am.
0:20:26 > 0:20:29We all are. What is wrong with that? Radzi, you have done some incredible
0:20:29 > 0:20:34challenges, what is more mortifying, jumping out of a plane or dancing
0:20:34 > 0:20:38for the judges?Dancing for the judges, I could feel my feet when I
0:20:38 > 0:20:43skydive, but not when I was dancing! Chloe, I had to say, that girl is a
0:20:43 > 0:20:51legend, and she came on Blue Peter with AJ before Strictly Come
0:20:51 > 0:20:53Dancing, dancing with her a few years later on Strictly Come
0:20:53 > 0:20:59Dancing!Make sure you tune into Children In Need on BBC One tonight
0:20:59 > 0:21:04from 7:30 to find out who was crowned champion. Thank you so much
0:21:04 > 0:21:14to our Blue Peter stars!
0:21:29 > 0:21:33General Townshend is here, what is it like in Blackpool?Blackpool
0:21:33 > 0:21:36everything is bigger and more spectacular. The building,
0:21:36 > 0:21:39everything we do has to be bigger to match that Golding and make the show
0:21:39 > 0:21:44looked even more special. It is not just due in the corner of the studio
0:21:44 > 0:21:49on your own, how many in the team? Five technicians working alongside
0:21:49 > 0:21:53me, and yeah, it is a good team. We have to work hard together.Busy for
0:21:53 > 0:21:58everyone. What have you been rehearsing so far?We have look at
0:21:58 > 0:22:01Davood's number, where he is James Bond. We have helped him with a
0:22:01 > 0:22:06flame sequence to go with that. He has seven flame units on the floor,
0:22:06 > 0:22:14chasing, and doing nice things. It enhances all the performances. The
0:22:14 > 0:22:18couples in general react to it.It really lifts them. It makes
0:22:18 > 0:22:22everything feel more special. When we tell people we have pyrotechnics,
0:22:22 > 0:22:27they love it. It punctuates their routine and makes it more special.
0:22:27 > 0:22:33One thing you do as a department is made a massive mess. Who cleaned it
0:22:33 > 0:22:38up?That is asked as well. We make the mess and we have one minute and
0:22:38 > 0:22:4120 seconds to clear it up. What you don't see is the moment when we go
0:22:41 > 0:22:46across to the judges, and they say what they thought of the dance. We
0:22:46 > 0:22:50are crawling underneath the cameras with brooms, clearing up the
0:22:50 > 0:22:53confetti. You need a wide shot to see us, but it is good you do not
0:22:53 > 0:23:00see us.There are no stairs either. Claudia's area is on the same level,
0:23:00 > 0:23:04and we are literally on our Tom Eaves clearing confetti away.Show
0:23:04 > 0:23:09me quickly how it all works very quickly. Is this the headquarters?
0:23:09 > 0:23:16This is a wireless firing system, it does everything from hand-held
0:23:16 > 0:23:19pyrotechnics, the flaming system, to the Pyro at the end of the numbers.
0:23:19 > 0:23:25All we do...There is a key as well. It doesn't fire unless you have the
0:23:25 > 0:23:31key. You pop the key in, turn it, and we get a red button. The red
0:23:31 > 0:23:37button is flashing, and if I press that, it all goes up!It does.Close
0:23:37 > 0:23:43it, it is too worrying for me. I could have spoiled everything then.
0:23:43 > 0:23:46The stage may almost be set for the main event, but how's
0:23:46 > 0:23:49the dancing coming along?
0:23:49 > 0:23:52Time to check in with Joe, Mollie, Gemma and Susan as they prepare for
0:23:52 > 0:23:53the biggest night of their lives!
0:23:56 > 0:24:02We are doing salsa. It is an ambitious routine. The thing that is
0:24:02 > 0:24:05challenging is being on the right foot. The other leg!
0:24:05 > 0:24:09Not an easy dance for a man because of the leading.
0:24:09 > 0:24:13You have to think, when you lift, push me away.
0:24:13 > 0:24:15He's got to know his steps, my steps.
0:24:15 > 0:24:19A bit more precise. To lead me into the right direction.
0:24:19 > 0:24:27Watch me turn. It is full of energy. If we can pull
0:24:27 > 0:24:33it off, it will be quite something. Yes, good!
0:24:33 > 0:24:37The charleston is really fast. There is so much to learn. Your mind feels
0:24:37 > 0:24:43it is going 100 mph. Technically, it is difficult. The
0:24:43 > 0:24:47routine is complex. The main thing for Wally is to get the swivels of
0:24:47 > 0:24:53the feed.It is OK when you are in the swing of it, but sometimes, my
0:24:53 > 0:24:56feet had to cross but my arms Cross instead.
0:24:56 > 0:25:01Oh, in front of the body. You have to focus but looked like
0:25:01 > 0:25:09you are naturally doing it. There it is! There it is, baby!
0:25:09 > 0:25:14This week, we are dancing the American Smooth. It is a pace I feel
0:25:14 > 0:25:20I can do.Gemma is really taking on board all of my tips about the
0:25:20 > 0:25:22business, and how to focus and what to look at.
0:25:22 > 0:25:27My eyes have to look over the rainbow from one side to the other.
0:25:27 > 0:25:31Over the rainbow, over the rainbow. It is keeping the momentum going for
0:25:31 > 0:25:36the whole dance, so it glides through.
0:25:36 > 0:25:45It is the first time I feel relaxed. I may be enjoyed ballroom...
0:25:45 > 0:25:48That is a proud face, boom! Paso doble is about styling and
0:25:48 > 0:25:54shaping. You have to fill the ballroom with your presence, and it
0:25:54 > 0:25:58is about posture and how you hold yourself.
0:25:58 > 0:26:02The paso doble is a strong dance, I had to be strong throughout it. I
0:26:02 > 0:26:09didn't know the muscles in my four arms could hurt so much!
0:26:09 > 0:26:14It is elongated and powerful, and slightly arrogant.
0:26:14 > 0:26:20There, posture.I love the feeling of the paso doble.
0:26:20 > 0:26:23Standing in the towel ballroom doing that, it will be incredible.
0:26:28 > 0:26:31Now, dancers come and go around these parts, but along with a fella
0:26:31 > 0:26:33named Anton Du Beke there's one man who's been lighting up
0:26:33 > 0:26:37the Strictly dance floor from the very start.
0:26:37 > 0:26:40It's time for Brendan Cole's Strictly CV.
0:26:44 > 0:26:48Couple number one, Natasha Kaplinsky and her partner Brendan Cole,
0:26:48 > 0:26:51please, come to the floor. I did the very first dance on the
0:26:51 > 0:26:55very first Strictly Come Dancing ever.
0:26:55 > 0:26:58My first ever partner, the lovely Natasha Kaplinsky, wow. We had some
0:26:58 > 0:27:03fantastic moments. At first, the dance we did was the
0:27:03 > 0:27:09cha-cha-cha. It was exciting and exhilarating.
0:27:09 > 0:27:14The first feedback from the judges. For the most part, it was really
0:27:14 > 0:27:18positive. I think it's fantastic.Go for it,
0:27:18 > 0:27:23girl! Go for it! Then we get the fell on the end,
0:27:23 > 0:27:26what does he know? Natasha, I am afraid I don't agree
0:27:26 > 0:27:32with the other judges. I thought you were dull, dull, dull.I thought,
0:27:32 > 0:27:38get out of here! Making the final with Natasha is a
0:27:38 > 0:27:43highlight of my career. The winners of Strictly Come Dancing
0:27:43 > 0:27:51are... Natasha and Brendan. The elation of winning was
0:27:51 > 0:27:54spectacular. I remember the stuff coming down, and the feeling of
0:27:54 > 0:27:58euphoria. What a way to start Strictly Come
0:27:58 > 0:28:05Dancing. Kelly Brook, what a natural
0:28:05 > 0:28:09performer. One of the best answer is to enter the Strictly arena. One
0:28:09 > 0:28:13week stands out in particular, we did the American Smooth. It was
0:28:13 > 0:28:18effortless, it had beauty and magic. You get a partnership that gels, you
0:28:18 > 0:28:22can do so much in this competition. We finished the dance, we both
0:28:22 > 0:28:29looked at each other and went, wow. It was almost perfect.
0:28:29 > 0:28:33Unfortunately, it did have to come to an end with the sad passing of
0:28:33 > 0:28:38Kelly's father, so she withdrew from the competition.
0:28:38 > 0:28:40Without a doubt, Kelly could have gone all the way in that
0:28:40 > 0:28:48competition. For me, that is the series that really got away.
0:28:48 > 0:28:57The lovely Lisa Snowdon, what a girl. It was pretty epic.
0:28:57 > 0:29:01We were quite often in the dance off.
0:29:01 > 0:29:06This is the moment of truth... When you are in a dance of
0:29:06 > 0:29:10situation, there are so me? That enter your heads. Are people voting
0:29:10 > 0:29:18for me? Are we doing the right thing? I think Lisa dealt with these
0:29:18 > 0:29:21things Brearley, and that's probably why we made the final.
0:29:21 > 0:29:25It was a feeling of, wow, we are here now, let's do this. Best do
0:29:25 > 0:29:30this for each other.Ten! We were the first couple to score perfect
0:29:30 > 0:29:32scores in both our final dancers.
0:29:41 > 0:29:52Victoria Pendleton and Brendan Cole! Victoria had just won gold. She was
0:29:52 > 0:29:59coming in and starting from scratch. It was a very hard task.It pains me
0:29:59 > 0:30:10to say, but it didn't quite make it to Spain, the bike.I learnt a lot
0:30:10 > 0:30:16about myself as a coach, a friend, and support network, which we are on
0:30:16 > 0:30:21Strictly. It wasn't easy to give her exactly what she needed to go about
0:30:21 > 0:30:24and perform on a Saturday night.I just blew it so much.It doesn't
0:30:24 > 0:30:30matter.I'm so sorry.It's one of the toughest challenges I've ever
0:30:30 > 0:30:37faced on Strictly.Sophie, your partner is Brendan!In series 11
0:30:37 > 0:30:45with the wonderful Sophie. I loved that series from start to finish.
0:30:45 > 0:30:52Every single dance we I walked off the floor thinking was amazing. --
0:30:52 > 0:30:57every single dance we did. The mood and the setting was perfect for the
0:30:57 > 0:31:01Argentine Tango. The energy started from before we had even danced. It
0:31:01 > 0:31:11was so powerful. And it continued right until that very last bit, we
0:31:11 > 0:31:18hit the floor, and it gave me tingles. The fact we made it all the
0:31:18 > 0:31:23way through to the final, that was just the icing on the cake. The
0:31:23 > 0:31:27euphoria you have, and that feeling of, wow, that was special, you
0:31:27 > 0:31:30cannot create anywhere else in life, only on the dance floor and Strictly
0:31:30 > 0:31:35allows us to do that. When you finish with your partner it can be a
0:31:35 > 0:31:45really tough thing. 15 series of Strictly. It has been euphoric. It
0:31:45 > 0:31:50has been tough. It is my life. I'm very proud to have been a part of
0:31:50 > 0:31:55every single second of it. CHEERING
0:31:55 > 0:31:57Was in that wonderful. I love that.
0:31:57 > 0:32:00"One of the best dancers who has ever entered the Strictly arena",
0:32:00 > 0:32:03what's it like to hear that?
0:32:03 > 0:32:10I got really emotional. We had such an amazing relationship. Such an
0:32:10 > 0:32:13extraordinary journey together. It is ten years ago nearly. At the time
0:32:13 > 0:32:18he said I want you to wake up on Sunday and look back at what you did
0:32:18 > 0:32:23and be proud of yourself. I look back now. I'm so proud of what we
0:32:23 > 0:32:28achieved. Honestly. The dancers work so hard. It is something that stays
0:32:28 > 0:32:33with you for life. And it's so lovely to see you dancing again. So
0:32:33 > 0:32:33good!
0:32:33 > 0:32:36Now, if Brendan's CV tells us anything, it's that the Strictly
0:32:36 > 0:32:38journey is a veritable "roller-coaster of emotions".
0:32:38 > 0:32:41So, in keeping with the Blackpool theme it's time to play a
0:32:41 > 0:32:42game inspired by that very metaphor.
0:32:42 > 0:32:48I give you the It Takes Two Emotional Rollercoaster Game!
0:32:48 > 0:32:50CHEERING
0:32:50 > 0:32:55There you all are!
0:32:55 > 0:32:59The aim of the game is to get as far along the roller-coaster as you can.
0:32:59 > 0:33:02I'm going to read out a judge's comment and to move up and down
0:33:02 > 0:33:04all you have to do is correctly identify
0:33:04 > 0:33:10the celebrity they're talking about.
0:33:10 > 0:33:14Little hint, it is only celebrities left.
0:33:14 > 0:33:17You each have a buzzer.
0:33:17 > 0:33:25I have a buzzer and I'm not afraid to use it, and I'm not too disabled
0:33:25 > 0:33:26to use
0:33:26 > 0:33:28CHUCKLES There you go. Jason... Sorry about
0:33:28 > 0:33:33that.I am scared.
0:33:33 > 0:33:36Time's up when you this sound...
0:33:36 > 0:33:41So it's fastest finger first. Let's begin...
0:33:41 > 0:33:43This came from Craig, he said...
0:33:43 > 0:33:45"Dull, dull, dull..."
0:33:45 > 0:33:57Who was it about?Peacock? It was, off she goes. How very rude of him.
0:33:57 > 0:33:57Shirley said...
0:33:57 > 0:33:59"I'm going to give you my 'Queen of Latin'
0:33:59 > 0:34:02crown because you deserve it. You were fantastic..."
0:34:02 > 0:34:10Debbie. Indeed. Our next quote from Bruno...
0:34:10 > 0:34:12"I loved the way you channelled your dramatic persona,
0:34:12 > 0:34:16oh she had a kind of spout and a snarl in the face, it was like
0:34:16 > 0:34:18watching Suranne Jones in Doctor Foster."
0:34:18 > 0:34:24Susan?It was Susan in the tango. You are so good at this.Bruno
0:34:24 > 0:34:25said...
0:34:25 > 0:34:27"There was the twinkle of the eye of Gene Kelly,
0:34:27 > 0:34:30the strength of the Incredible Hulk and the performance value
0:34:30 > 0:34:33of Fred Astaire."
0:34:33 > 0:34:37Davood? It was. Next, Craig said...
0:34:37 > 0:34:40"Well, I thought my ride on my mower at home had more grace
0:34:40 > 0:34:43and elegance to be honest."
0:34:43 > 0:34:49Well out of order, it was about Susan again. It was.Live it.
0:34:49 > 0:34:59Naughty Craig. Darcey said...
0:34:59 > 0:35:02"You gave me tingles down my back, that was extraordinary,
0:35:02 > 0:35:04you are on par with your professional,
0:35:04 > 0:35:07I don't think I've ever seen a tango like that from a celebrity."
0:35:07 > 0:35:08Debbie?It does. Bruno said...
0:35:08 > 0:35:10"I think what happened is you launched your boat
0:35:10 > 0:35:13on the wrong tide, and you looked like you were walking
0:35:13 > 0:35:14the plank at times."
0:35:14 > 0:35:21Joe? Are you even watching the series.I've got stage fright.It
0:35:21 > 0:35:25was Jonnie, sorry, it was Jonnie, you must go back one. I've broken
0:35:25 > 0:35:32the game.I got it wrong?I got it wrong. We are all wrong. Craig
0:35:32 > 0:35:33said...
0:35:33 > 0:35:35"There wasn't enough Rumba in there really for us,
0:35:35 > 0:35:37but personally, I could sit and watch that at home
0:35:37 > 0:35:38every day, darling."
0:35:38 > 0:35:50Who was that about?Joe?It wasn't. Anyone else?Davood?Yes.That is
0:35:50 > 0:35:58who I meant.Darcey Said...
0:35:58 > 0:36:00"You gave us all the charm of all the silent movies,
0:36:00 > 0:36:02never cheesy, amazing acting, really kept in character
0:36:02 > 0:36:03all the way through."
0:36:03 > 0:36:08The game is up, which means Jason is the winner. Kelly is furious. You
0:36:08 > 0:36:13are all brilliant, so you can all have a stick of rock. No expense
0:36:13 > 0:36:20spared. William. Friday panel! CHEERING
0:36:20 > 0:36:22Ok, earlier today, Gethin caught up with
0:36:22 > 0:36:24Gemma and Darvood in an undisclosed location in the Tower Ballroom.
0:36:24 > 0:36:31Let's see what he uncovered.
0:36:31 > 0:36:35I have found Davood van der Merwe in wardrobe. First come happy birthday.
0:36:38 > 0:36:47-- I have found Davood and Gemma in wardrobe, first of all, happy
0:36:47 > 0:36:53birthday.We are in the tower, it's amazing, I've never been here
0:36:53 > 0:36:57before. Walking in this morning, it looks like, you know beauty and the
0:36:57 > 0:37:04beast? The big ballroom? That is what you and Aljaz remind me.
0:37:04 > 0:37:07CHUCKLES Blackpool is a big night. We are in
0:37:07 > 0:37:12wardrobe. Have you your outfit? I have, looks amazing.I haven't seen
0:37:12 > 0:37:21it, is it nice?Is it a pair of trainers and a hoodie?I'm looking
0:37:21 > 0:37:22to it.
0:37:26 > 0:37:33You have done rehearsal, how was it? The first bit is a bit hairy.Yes,
0:37:33 > 0:37:40bit nervous. I'm glad it isn't just me. It is a wonderful arena. But it
0:37:40 > 0:37:45is nervy, there is something about it.Is it the bouncy floor? The size
0:37:45 > 0:37:51of it, the fact you are not used to the floor. It is slippery. When we
0:37:51 > 0:37:58did our dance, my hold went every single time.It should be out here.
0:37:58 > 0:38:03It is the emotional shoulders.I have very emotional shoulders.You
0:38:03 > 0:38:12just tensed up?It is safer like this. We have had a bad one in
0:38:12 > 0:38:16rehearsal, so hopefully we just have the good ones left.Everybody
0:38:16 > 0:38:21supporting you tomorrow night. Everybody will become even the kids
0:38:21 > 0:38:25this time, hopefully as much as Jonnie this week, but we shall see.
0:38:25 > 0:38:30Good luck tomorrow, thank you for your time.Thank you.Thank you.
0:38:30 > 0:38:32What's your problem?
0:38:32 > 0:38:34Now, Blackpool isn't just known for its donkey rides
0:38:34 > 0:38:38and amusement arcades, it's got a wonderful history of Ballroom.
0:38:38 > 0:38:41But why is dancing so special in the Vegas of the North?
0:38:41 > 0:38:43We sent Joanne Clifton to find out.
0:38:43 > 0:38:51Who has eaten the props? CHEERING
0:38:56 > 0:38:59Strictly has packed its bags and is heading for the sandy shores of
0:38:59 > 0:39:06Blackpool. For a weekend of sun, sea, and ballroom dancing. But what
0:39:06 > 0:39:12is it that makes this place such a special fixture in the Strictly
0:39:12 > 0:39:16calendar? Blackpool is steeped in dance history and home to not one
0:39:16 > 0:39:19but two of the most iconic ballrooms in the country, the Empress
0:39:19 > 0:39:24ballroom, and the Tower ballroom. The first open its doors was the
0:39:24 > 0:39:31Empress ballroom at the Winter Gardens. With its barrel ceiling and
0:39:31 > 0:39:36a floor area of 12,500 square feet it was one of the largest and most
0:39:36 > 0:39:41magnificent ballrooms in the world when it opened in 1896. Competitive
0:39:41 > 0:39:45ballroom dancing was born right here at the Winter Gardens won the first
0:39:45 > 0:39:50ever Blackpool dance festival was staged in 1920. For nine days,
0:39:50 > 0:39:55dancers from over 60 different countries compete, making it one of
0:39:55 > 0:39:58the biggest ballroom and Latin dance contest in the world. And it is a
0:39:58 > 0:40:01place which is particularly important to me because it is where
0:40:01 > 0:40:07Kevin and I won two British championships together. In order to
0:40:07 > 0:40:10compete with the newly opened Empress Ball, the owners of the
0:40:10 > 0:40:17Blackpool Tower commissioned Frank match to design what would become a
0:40:17 > 0:40:29beacon of British ballroom dancing, the Blackpool Tower ballroom.
0:40:29 > 0:40:35The ballroom has a custom-built sprung floor that consists of over
0:40:35 > 0:40:4130,000 individual pieces of mahogany, walnut, and oak which suit
0:40:41 > 0:40:45a number of different dance styles. It was once described as the
0:40:45 > 0:40:48greatest social mix in the land because of its ability to bring
0:40:48 > 0:40:53people from all social classes together in one place. It estimated
0:40:53 > 0:40:57that over 100 million people have walked their way across this dance
0:40:57 > 0:41:08floor within the first 40 years its opening. -- waltzed their way
0:41:08 > 0:41:12across. Those who have danced in this ballroom traditionally would
0:41:12 > 0:41:17have danced to organ music. With the Tower ballroom's Wurlitzer being
0:41:17 > 0:41:23almost as famous as the ballroom itself. Reginald Dixon played a big
0:41:23 > 0:41:27part in popularising organ music during his time at the Tower from
0:41:27 > 0:41:311930 to 1970. He was a hugely popular musician who grew to be
0:41:31 > 0:41:35known affectionately as Mr Blackpool. The organ that stands
0:41:35 > 0:41:41here in the Tower ballroom today is the same one that was made to
0:41:41 > 0:41:52Reginald's exact specifications in 1935.
0:41:55 > 0:42:00The ballroom is still open to the public with tea dances held every
0:42:00 > 0:42:05day, which means anyone, young or old, can come to this amazing dance
0:42:05 > 0:42:09space and experience it for themselves. Two people who have done
0:42:09 > 0:42:13just that are David and Sue. They've been coming here to dance for the
0:42:13 > 0:42:19last ten years. Do you have any special memories of dancing here?We
0:42:19 > 0:42:25came for an event and Len Goodman was here. He was dancing -- I was
0:42:25 > 0:42:28dancing with Dave, he tapped Dave on the shoulder and I danced a foxtrot
0:42:28 > 0:42:34with him. That's amazing.I thought you were going to say that he tapped
0:42:34 > 0:42:37you on the shoulder and said seven! CHUCKLES
0:42:37 > 0:42:43Strictly is coming to town very soon. How excited are you?Vary, the
0:42:43 > 0:42:47town is buzzing, because everybody enjoys Strictly coming to Blackpool,
0:42:47 > 0:42:54because it is the mecca of dance.I have one last question. Am I allowed
0:42:54 > 0:43:00to steal Dave for a little dance? Certainly.Come on, then.
0:43:00 > 0:43:01CHUCKLES
0:43:03 > 0:43:07With such a rich and vibrant dance history it easy to see how Blackpool
0:43:07 > 0:43:11became the home of ballroom dancing. And why it is now Strictly's home
0:43:11 > 0:43:18away from home. CHEERING
0:43:18 > 0:43:20Thanks so much. Beautiful.
0:43:20 > 0:43:23Right, let's head back over to the only place to be
0:43:23 > 0:43:26this weekend, where Gethin Jones has made himself right at home,
0:43:26 > 0:43:30and he's got company.
0:43:30 > 0:43:36The next time these guys will be here they will be hoping for good
0:43:36 > 0:43:40comments from the judges. Fingers crossed. Debbie, it will be the
0:43:40 > 0:43:44samba for you, but I feel like nobody has found samba history as
0:43:44 > 0:43:52funny as you two.I know, but every week is funny in our rehearsals and
0:43:52 > 0:43:57training. But this week has been particularly. I cannot say why. It
0:43:57 > 0:44:03is just the fact I am playing a Spice Girl. Wait until you see it,
0:44:03 > 0:44:07I'm sure you will be laughing.I know this place is special to you.
0:44:07 > 0:44:11What is it like now you are here? Better than I was thinking. I
0:44:11 > 0:44:16haven't been here a long time. Walking in this morning, the room is
0:44:16 > 0:44:21so magnificent. No other word. The fact all of this Strictly
0:44:21 > 0:44:24adornments, all of the crew are here, it's exciting, I will wear
0:44:24 > 0:44:28myself out saying hello and talking to everybody. The first thing you
0:44:28 > 0:44:40did here, gawker took you to the gym, how about that?Exactly. --
0:44:40 > 0:44:43Gorka to you. We also went to the amusement arcade and we were big
0:44:43 > 0:44:48kids for a bit. It was nice to come out of London. Come to this
0:44:48 > 0:44:51spectacular place. This building is so beautiful. What a privilege and
0:44:51 > 0:44:55an honour to make it this far and perform here.We have seen a sketch
0:44:55 > 0:45:01of the dress, how is it looking?I love it. I saw it this morning. It
0:45:01 > 0:45:07is white, I'm like a little fairy, it is cute. They always pull out all
0:45:07 > 0:45:10of the stops in wardrobe, massive thanks to them.Where is your
0:45:10 > 0:45:17T-shirt? Has there been enough practice and progress? We are always
0:45:17 > 0:45:22practising and progressing. I don't have the T-shirt right now.You have
0:45:22 > 0:45:29a very prominent role in your dance. I do. When it was being put
0:45:29 > 0:45:34together, it was amazing. To make it to Blackpool, we are so pleased to
0:45:34 > 0:45:38be here.So many people on the dance floor for the group dance. There are
0:45:38 > 0:45:42tonnes of them. They are all amazing.Definitely worth the watch.
0:45:42 > 0:45:49Good luck for tonight and tomorrow.
0:45:49 > 0:45:51They are giddy with excitement, and so are we.
0:45:51 > 0:45:54Now, it's no mean feat to make it to the Tower Ballroom,
0:45:54 > 0:45:57but what have been the biggest challenges our couples have faced?
0:45:57 > 0:45:59Let's hear from our Blackpool stars themselves.
0:45:59 > 0:46:04I think my biggest challenge on the show has just been the nerves, being
0:46:04 > 0:46:09up there waiting to go on, knowing you are on next. Then thinking, I am
0:46:09 > 0:46:13going to go out and mess it up, and feeling the fear.
0:46:13 > 0:46:16The biggest challenge of my Strictly Come Dancing journey has been
0:46:16 > 0:46:21learning to dance. It's tough being graceful, it's
0:46:21 > 0:46:29tough being elegant. It's tough. During the American Smooth, when I
0:46:29 > 0:46:35actually didn't think I knew the steps. Nadiya said I do know the
0:46:35 > 0:46:38steps, and we are going to go out and enjoy it.
0:46:38 > 0:46:43The biggest part of my journey so far has actually been last weekend,
0:46:43 > 0:46:47when I saw that people had voted for us to go through. You have that
0:46:47 > 0:46:52moment thinking, oh, people do want to see our stance, because I think
0:46:52 > 0:46:58when you are in the dance off twice, it is hard to pick yourself up from.
0:46:58 > 0:47:03Every single week I drive myself crazy with anxiety and worry, and
0:47:03 > 0:47:08fear, that something is going to go wrong before the dance. Aljaz is the
0:47:08 > 0:47:13sole person on the show who I 1000% trust and believe in. When he says
0:47:13 > 0:47:16to me, I could have done that better, I know I could. When he says
0:47:16 > 0:47:21how proud he is, I know he is proud. Feeling like it's gone well, and
0:47:21 > 0:47:26having to go to the dance off was not a nicely on, but it was
0:47:26 > 0:47:29definitely an experience, and a good opportunity, too, to show that we
0:47:29 > 0:47:33could improve on that dance. When Gorka and I were doing the
0:47:33 > 0:47:38Argentine tango, there was a point in the rehearsal where I did not
0:47:38 > 0:47:41recognise my sock, because I was so upset and frustrated in myself.
0:47:41 > 0:47:47Gorka says to me, stop putting us down. For me, it is really hard not
0:47:47 > 0:47:50to do that. I wake up in the middle of the night
0:47:50 > 0:47:54doing whatever dance I'm doing that week. Getting over the biggest
0:47:54 > 0:48:00hurdles and challenges every week, it's really hard.
0:48:02 > 0:48:06Stop, it's been an emotional week!
0:48:06 > 0:48:08Please welcome back my Friday Panel!
0:48:08 > 0:48:13We will carry on where we left off.
0:48:13 > 0:48:14Starting with Susan and Kevin.
0:48:14 > 0:48:16They're dancing a Paso inspired by the movie
0:48:16 > 0:48:19Strictly Ballroom.
0:48:19 > 0:48:23This could be what legends are made of, surely? Is one of my favourite
0:48:23 > 0:48:32movies.Flash Gordon.Stricker ballroom, I love this and I... It is
0:48:32 > 0:48:40going to be incredible. Susan is going to be amazing. I have asked
0:48:40 > 0:48:45Jason to be my friend, so I can become Susan's friend.Just to get
0:48:45 > 0:48:57to her! He looked terrified! He ran off, no, I love her. Mr Clifton's
0:48:57 > 0:49:03vision of five years to get this on the show, Jason, what do you think?
0:49:03 > 0:49:06That is a big weight on your shoulders. But he couldn't have
0:49:06 > 0:49:10anyone better with him. I adore Susan from the comedy circuit, I
0:49:10 > 0:49:14have known her for many years. Watching her, she did not think she
0:49:14 > 0:49:19would still be in it when it got to Blackpool. She is the biggest
0:49:19 > 0:49:26improver from show number one until now.And still joyous.
0:49:26 > 0:49:27Next, it's Mollie and AJ.
0:49:27 > 0:49:32They're dancing the Charleston.
0:49:32 > 0:49:36Here they are rehearsing. Kelly, how is she looking? Has it got the right
0:49:36 > 0:49:42amount of swivel for you?Yes. She was great in the jive. You can see
0:49:42 > 0:49:46she is enjoying it and she is super comfortable. She is great in these
0:49:46 > 0:49:53dances, because she has so much energy. When she is the sexy zone,
0:49:53 > 0:49:59she gets self-conscious. She has to forget that and have fun.I'm like
0:49:59 > 0:50:05that when I am in my sexy zone. She is a sexy girl, but when you perform
0:50:05 > 0:50:12like that, you are out of your comfort zone! Rumba is terrifying.
0:50:12 > 0:50:17If you can have fun, you can have a laugh.
0:50:17 > 0:50:22Onto Gemma and Aljaz, they're doing the American Smooth.
0:50:22 > 0:50:26MUSIC: "Downtown" by Petula Clark
0:50:26 > 0:50:31Here they are. It was her birthday yesterday, she is a local lass. It
0:50:31 > 0:50:36is a good one for her.I don't know how she is fitting it in. I listened
0:50:36 > 0:50:44to her on the radio, the Breakfast Show.Early start.I do not know how
0:50:44 > 0:50:49she fits it in. She is doing unbelievably well. She looks great,
0:50:49 > 0:50:53she's such a laugh, and it's been great to watch her every week. She
0:50:53 > 0:50:59is joyous as well. And American Smooth, Kelly, you were so good at
0:50:59 > 0:51:04this dance, you are an expert, how does it look?It was my favourite
0:51:04 > 0:51:10dance. Looking at her there, her whole is just unbelievable. She
0:51:10 > 0:51:13looks like a professional. It is so hard to not look where you are going
0:51:13 > 0:51:18and keep the line. She licks incredible. It is absolutely my
0:51:18 > 0:51:26favourite dance.Debbie and Giovanni doing the Samba, she is being a
0:51:26 > 0:51:28Spice Girl.
0:51:28 > 0:51:30Are her samba rolls spicing up your life?
0:51:30 > 0:51:34MUSIC: "Who Do You Think You Are?" by The Spice Girls
0:51:34 > 0:51:40Debbie is one of my favourites, I am a Debbie fan. I have never extended
0:51:40 > 0:51:45my leg like she extends her leg. She is incredible and I know she is not
0:51:45 > 0:51:50as comfortable with these dances, but she is so amazing. She trains so
0:51:50 > 0:51:54hard. I absolutely love her. She is one of my favourites.
0:51:54 > 0:51:57The judges picked up a couple of mistakes in her Salsa last week.
0:51:57 > 0:52:02She picks up and recovers so quickly. How does it look to you?
0:52:02 > 0:52:07She sets the bar so high, they had to find something wrong to say
0:52:07 > 0:52:10something sometimes with Debbie. That's what has happened, the judges
0:52:10 > 0:52:14are guilty of trying to find something to say.She made the Tango
0:52:14 > 0:52:19look effortless, didn't she.When she did the tango...She made it
0:52:19 > 0:52:24look easy!I hate to ask the question, but we must, who could be
0:52:24 > 0:52:31having their last arms this weekend in Blackpool? Nikki?I think Mollie
0:52:31 > 0:52:35has been unfairly in the bottom two, but I think she might go out. But I
0:52:35 > 0:52:44don't want anyone.I don't want it to be Susan, she does so well. And
0:52:44 > 0:52:52she is full of life, so I think Jonnie as well.Kelly?I don't know.
0:52:52 > 0:52:59Aston went out, you just don't know. How can you call it? Sorry!
0:52:59 > 0:53:03Let's hear it for our Friday panel!
0:53:03 > 0:53:06Time now to head back oop North, where Gethin has found some
0:53:06 > 0:53:07pros to play with.
0:53:07 > 0:53:14I'm here with three of Strictly's all-time pros, a wise man once
0:53:14 > 0:53:19said...It's not all fun and games. He was wrong because he has never
0:53:19 > 0:53:23played Blackpool ping pong. We have ping pong and cups with names on
0:53:23 > 0:53:32them. They correspond to questions and we want answers. Who is first?
0:53:32 > 0:53:38Gentleman first, Pasha, get the ping pong in a cup. Come on. This is it.
0:53:38 > 0:53:49Oh!Oh! It's a high octane game.
0:53:49 > 0:53:56Number three is, which celebrity has surprised you most this season?
0:53:56 > 0:54:03Gigi.Didn't go to plan?I was hoping to be here in Blackpool with
0:54:03 > 0:54:08her, but now I am playing ping-pong. New balls, please. Thank you. Off
0:54:08 > 0:54:18you go.Hit me! Too Farke! Hit me! Still drinking her copy.Hit me baby
0:54:18 > 0:54:21one more time. I thought she would be better at
0:54:21 > 0:54:32this. Pasha!Number two, which judge would
0:54:32 > 0:54:39you most like to be partnered with for a routine?None of them! Just
0:54:39 > 0:54:46kidding! I will pick Craig.I would like to see that, Craig and Karen,
0:54:46 > 0:54:51take the dance floor. Janette, new balls please.
0:54:51 > 0:54:58Off you go. I feel good about this. No, I didn't.How are you finding
0:54:58 > 0:55:02the game so far? What number was that?
0:55:02 > 0:55:08Number two. We have had that. Number one, Kevin is dancing his dream
0:55:08 > 0:55:14concept from the movie Strictly Ballroom Centres By, What Would
0:55:14 > 0:55:23Yours Be?Bandwagon, Red Dress, Fred Astaire, White Suit. .Not that you
0:55:23 > 0:55:29have thought about that much... Pasha, you are back in. New balls.
0:55:29 > 0:55:35Thank you. Family cups left?I am wasting my whole life...I want to
0:55:35 > 0:55:48see it next year. Last ball. We will give you that. Last one, if
0:55:48 > 0:55:51you could have been partnered with any celebrity this season, who would
0:55:51 > 0:55:58it have been?Gigi. That will do. We are getting rid of ball boys, where
0:55:58 > 0:56:05is the cake? Happy birthday, Janette. Back to you, Zoe.
0:56:05 > 0:56:08That's all we have time for tonight! Thanks to all my guests.
0:56:08 > 0:56:10Don't miss the Blackpool Strictly Extravaganza tomorrow night with
0:56:10 > 0:56:12Tess and Claud at 6:.45 on BBC One.
0:56:12 > 0:56:15I'll be back on Monday with the next couple to leave the competition.
0:56:15 > 0:56:17But now, singing us out with The Impossible Dream,
0:56:17 > 0:56:19it's Jason Manford.
0:56:26 > 0:56:31# To dream the impossible dream
0:56:31 > 0:56:34# To fight the unbeatable foe
0:56:34 > 0:56:38# To bear with unbearable sorrow
0:56:38 > 0:56:44# To run where the brave dare not go
0:56:44 > 0:56:49# To right the unrightable wrong
0:56:49 > 0:56:55# To love pure and chaste from afar
0:56:55 > 0:57:03# To try when your arms are too weary
0:57:03 > 0:57:05# To reach the unreachable star
0:57:05 > 0:57:10# This is my quest to follow that star
0:57:10 > 0:57:17# No matter how hopeless, no matter how far
0:57:17 > 0:57:21# To fight for the right without question or pause
0:57:21 > 0:57:27# To be willing to march into Hell for a heavenly cause
0:57:27 > 0:57:33# And I know if I'll only be true
0:57:33 > 0:57:37# To this glorious quest
0:57:37 > 0:57:46# That my heart will lie peaceful and calm
0:57:46 > 0:57:47# When I'm laid to my rest
0:57:47 > 0:57:50# And the world will be better for this
0:57:50 > 0:57:53# That one man, scorned and covered with scars
0:57:53 > 0:58:02# Still strove with his last ounce of courage
0:58:02 > 0:58:12# To reach the unreachable stars
0:58:17 > 0:58:23# And the world will be better for this
0:58:23 > 0:58:28# That one man, scorned and covered with scars
0:58:28 > 0:58:34# Still strove with his last ounce of courage
0:58:34 > 0:58:43# To reach the unreachable stars. #
0:58:52 > 0:58:59CHEERING AND APPLAUSE Thank you very much, thank you.
