0:01:09 > 0:01:15Mollie and AJ came close to a smooch on screen...

0:01:15 > 0:01:18Darcey was purring with delight over Debbie and Gio's American Smooth but

0:01:18 > 0:01:19the biggest surprise came when...

0:01:19 > 0:01:29EASTENDERS THEME: "Doof, doof, doof, doof, doof-doof d-d-d-doof..."

0:01:30 > 0:01:32Davood and Nadiya were eliminated from the competition!

0:01:32 > 0:01:34They might be bowing out tonight, but there's always

0:01:34 > 0:01:35room for an encore.

0:01:35 > 0:01:39They're in the green room.

0:01:39 > 0:01:41We love them, we do.

0:01:41 > 0:01:44And stepping up to the Pro Challenge this evening

0:01:44 > 0:01:46it's Russia's finest export - the mighty Pasha!

0:01:46 > 0:01:49But before we chat to them, let's take a behind the scenes look

0:01:49 > 0:01:59at how Strictly's musicals spectacular all came together.

0:02:13 > 0:02:22MUSIC: Singin' In The Rain remix. Coming down onto the floor being

0:02:22 > 0:02:28flown in on the chandelier, you get a very sweaty right side of the face

0:02:28 > 0:02:33under that mask. I have just cleaned myself up.The Johnson requires much

0:02:33 > 0:02:39stamina and I hope that I can pull that later. It is nice to start on

0:02:39 > 0:02:42the stairs surrounded by the dancers, but they are only there for

0:02:42 > 0:02:51the beginning.Grease is my favourite physical. I am living my

0:02:51 > 0:02:57childhood dream right now. I always wanted to be regretted.I'm allergic

0:02:57 > 0:03:14to cats. I always start sneezing. I'm getting all the make-up on.We

0:03:14 > 0:03:21are doing the musical Oliver! For the big group number. I get to be

0:03:21 > 0:03:26sentenced -- I get to be The Apple Dodger. There's lots of

0:03:26 > 0:03:30choreography, and they all have to be on their game. There's pressure

0:03:30 > 0:03:34to get it right and live up to expectations.Everyone is working

0:03:34 > 0:03:39hard, as the quarterfinals. It is going to be absolutely manic in

0:03:39 > 0:03:55here.Joe, have you got lipstick on? Now.

0:03:56 > 0:04:00-- No.Close your eyes. Just waiting for the last part of the puzzle,

0:04:00 > 0:04:09which is the mask.I don't need it glued to my face. This is the but

0:04:09 > 0:04:12nobody knows about, this is where all the costumes, the shoes hats,

0:04:12 > 0:04:17where they come when they are not being used any more. Look at that.

0:04:17 > 0:04:25This is so exclusive, because nobody knows it.

0:04:25 > 0:04:46# The hills are alive... , on, folks. -- come on, folks.Musicals.

0:04:46 > 0:04:54Oh, dear. It's Strictly.I can't wait to get on with the show.

0:05:04 > 0:05:17Let's raise the curtain and welcome our Strictly stars!

0:05:19 > 0:05:25Time now to meet my first guest. Over 11 weeks this powerhouse couple

0:05:25 > 0:05:32have stormed it with some truly thrilling routines. Before we say

0:05:32 > 0:05:38our farewells, here are Davood and Nadiya.

0:05:38 > 0:05:49# Goodbye, farewell, aufweidersehen...

0:05:49 > 0:05:55# So long, farewell, aufweidersehen, goodbye...

0:06:02 > 0:06:10APPLAUSE Just listen to that! Fuel that love

0:06:10 > 0:06:17coming at you. The best looking Phantom Of The Opera the world ever

0:06:17 > 0:06:22saw. How do you feel the day after the day before?I don't know. I

0:06:22 > 0:06:28suppose quite reflective at the moment. But we ended it fine. And it

0:06:28 > 0:06:35was such a great dance. And making your entrance as only you do now,

0:06:35 > 0:06:42one arm, coming from the ceiling.I want to enter every room now!We can

0:06:42 > 0:06:49see that in the Queen Vic on Christmas Day, coming through the

0:06:49 > 0:06:55ceiling. And an amazing Argentine tango. It was so incredible. You had

0:06:55 > 0:07:00not been in the dance off since week four. It is getting so intense now,

0:07:00 > 0:07:06it could be anyone. How did feel?We were always ready, every week we

0:07:06 > 0:07:09said, prepare to do this on the Sunday. You never know when it is

0:07:09 > 0:07:13going to come up again. Having been there before, you are kind of

0:07:13 > 0:07:17prepared a little bit emotionally, but you know that you have got to go

0:07:17 > 0:07:26out there and impress the judges. We got 29. She said, we got 29, and we

0:07:26 > 0:07:32were in the dance off. That is spooky. That is weird. That is my

0:07:32 > 0:07:40new unlucky number! We never want to see that number again. You were up

0:07:40 > 0:07:44against Alexandra and Gorka. What do you thinking at that point? It is a

0:07:44 > 0:07:48horrible feeling, in the dance off, one of you is going to have to go

0:07:48 > 0:07:54home. Alexandra got a good score, she did a really good dance and we

0:07:54 > 0:07:57were bottom of the leaderboard so we knew that it was going to be

0:07:57 > 0:08:02difficult to change the judges' mine. What was it you said to Davood

0:08:02 > 0:08:07before going out for that second dance? What you say to him?Was

0:08:07 > 0:08:12amazing. We knew that we were going against Alex and she was an amazing

0:08:12 > 0:08:23dancer. We felt really relaxed. We had a little laugh, backstage. It

0:08:23 > 0:08:26feels like all that we had been through in the last few months have

0:08:26 > 0:08:31led up to that moment. And it was the first time I had danced without

0:08:31 > 0:08:37fear, you know what I mean? There was a freedom to it.We felt that,

0:08:37 > 0:08:41in the end. It was just a different level. He never dance like this

0:08:41 > 0:08:46before. It was just something special. And there was no fear,

0:08:46 > 0:08:52there are, at all. That flaw was yours. It was that feeling that this

0:08:52 > 0:08:57might be our last time that the dance together for a couple of these

0:08:57 > 0:09:00peoples,, so just go for it and enjoy it. It was something extra

0:09:00 > 0:09:07special.First time in the show that you had done the Argentine tango.

0:09:07 > 0:09:12Compared to the other dancers you're done, how tricky it?It is tricky,

0:09:12 > 0:09:16but I've always enjoyed watching it. The ones we have had this year, when

0:09:16 > 0:09:20you watch them, you really take it in, the relationship between the

0:09:20 > 0:09:25dancers and everything. What is nice about it, you don't get swept up in

0:09:25 > 0:09:30the technical side of it. It is more relaxed. But then let that fool you.

0:09:30 > 0:09:38It is actually really tough. -- don't let that full year.He

0:09:38 > 0:09:41actually led through all of those difficult steps, and the basic

0:09:41 > 0:09:48stuff, which is the most difficult. And we made sure that the basic

0:09:48 > 0:09:53steps in the Argentine tango, he did it, and it was so difficult.

0:09:53 > 0:10:00CHEERING She is an amazing woman. It wasn't

0:10:00 > 0:10:11just us who were loving you.

0:10:15 > 0:10:17Bonnie Langford your telly mum wrote...

0:10:17 > 0:10:19So sad @DavoodGhadami is out @bbcstrictly but SO PROUD

0:10:19 > 0:10:20of his amazing achievement.

0:10:20 > 0:10:21Thanks for supporting him. #proudtellymum

0:10:21 > 0:10:23And legendary choreographer Sir Matthew Bourne posted

0:10:23 > 0:10:26that it was the best choreography of the night.

0:10:26 > 0:10:29APPLAUSE That is my stay here. That is so

0:10:29 > 0:10:36nice. You want everyone to see that you have really worked hard. I

0:10:36 > 0:10:42always said, make it difficult, make it hard. And it was. I really sorry

0:10:42 > 0:10:45that the judges didn't pick up on all the advanced steps that he did.

0:10:45 > 0:10:51It may be like some professional male who never did this, and he did

0:10:51 > 0:10:58it. That is how good he is.This is quite an amazing Strictly Story. You

0:10:58 > 0:11:07have done so much. Enjoy this.OK, thank you. I don't really have a

0:11:07 > 0:11:12signature dance move, the best I can give you is a bit of clapping.Your

0:11:12 > 0:11:22partner will be...Nadiya!It is the chatter jar. Do your first dance. --

0:11:22 > 0:11:33it is the cha cha cha. I thought it was amazing. The attack, the energy.

0:11:33 > 0:11:43Any woman would feel safe in your arms.I love your passion, your

0:11:43 > 0:11:50chemistry, the energy was absolutely incredible.Much better than last

0:11:50 > 0:11:55week. You definitely don't hold back.You are such a beast, a beast

0:11:55 > 0:12:02of fun, my darling!Classic, flowing, elegant dance, the walls,

0:12:02 > 0:12:09well, it should be.When you did a lift, your foot came off the floor,

0:12:09 > 0:12:15you could have kept your foot on the floor when you did those spins. And

0:12:15 > 0:12:20you were going so well. And on came the red light. It is not a nice

0:12:20 > 0:12:27experience. Davood and Nadiya... This week we will focus on the kick

0:12:27 > 0:12:30and flick and the jive and have a lot of fun, because you never know

0:12:30 > 0:12:36when it'll all be over. This is what you have, this amazing power and

0:12:36 > 0:12:42energy that you give to the dance, and it worked perfectly on the jive.

0:12:42 > 0:12:45For a man to feel comfortable with those fluid moves and have that

0:12:45 > 0:12:50desire through the body, you did very well.I could sit and watch

0:12:50 > 0:12:56that every day, darling. Well done. He's such a great dancer. And he is

0:12:56 > 0:13:01improving every week, more and more. Nadiya is my parachute. Like you are

0:13:01 > 0:13:10jumping out of a plane and she is the one that stops you crashing.I

0:13:10 > 0:13:15think you just were totally awesome. You really swept all of us off of

0:13:15 > 0:13:28our feet.Incredible, absolutely loved it.I'm going to enjoy this, I

0:13:28 > 0:13:42think.Your star is rising high.

0:13:43 > 0:13:59Zing!Bring on Blackpool! This week we are bouncing the paso doble. I

0:13:59 > 0:14:07get to play James Bond as well. Brilliant.I give you, your licence

0:14:07 > 0:14:11to thrill.Powerful performance. Incredible. Thank you, Blackpool.

0:14:11 > 0:14:27Thank you.It was absolutely effortless. My kind of walls. --

0:14:27 > 0:14:34waltz.I am so proud of him. He's amazing. The idea of dancing doesn't

0:14:34 > 0:14:37fill me with dread any more, it fills me with joy, it is making me

0:14:37 > 0:14:44smile and making me feel happy. You have some spectacular lifts, but you

0:14:44 > 0:14:52had some stumbling problems this evening.It was a good effort,

0:14:52 > 0:15:03but...Judges, it's time to decide. Alexandra...She's a great teacher

0:15:03 > 0:15:07and now she's a really good friend and I am so privileged to have met

0:15:07 > 0:15:11you.I am such a lucky girl, to have you as my partner.I am so proud of

0:15:11 > 0:15:23you. Thank you for teaching me to dance.

0:15:23 > 0:15:30We have all gone, he is down! I am allergic to something, the

0:15:30 > 0:15:40glitter!

0:15:45 > 0:15:49What are the highlights are you? From the Lord show, finding you were

0:15:49 > 0:15:55my partner. Learning what you can and can't do. Something happened

0:15:55 > 0:16:01with the American Smooth, that kick-started something. It is when I

0:16:01 > 0:16:07started really enjoyed it, feeling after being in the dance-off in the

0:16:07 > 0:16:12Viennese, after that, you know why you are here, to have fun. I am not

0:16:12 > 0:16:18a dancer but I want to enjoy every minute. That was amazing. The

0:16:18 > 0:16:29Charleston... We got ten. Squealing. A new noise to me. And

0:16:29 > 0:16:36actually, even though it was our last dance, the Argentina Tango,

0:16:36 > 0:16:41there was something incredible, that was a highlight as well.

0:16:41 > 0:16:45Did you think you would come this far in the competition?

0:16:45 > 0:16:49I wasn't thinking about Fat -- How far we would go.

0:16:49 > 0:16:55I promised we would have fun. That I would be strict. But we will have

0:16:55 > 0:17:02fun. You kept that promise in every way.

0:17:02 > 0:17:08This was the most important thing. The to fall in love with dancing.

0:17:08 > 0:17:14I have. I look back at all that, that me?

0:17:14 > 0:17:19Look at what you did. Incredible stuff.

0:17:19 > 0:17:24You can watch it back. Who would you like to win? I can't.

0:17:24 > 0:17:30They are all good mates, whoever wins is very deserving of it. They

0:17:30 > 0:17:36are amazing, dancers and people.

0:17:36 > 0:17:38We've loved having you with us this year.

0:17:38 > 0:17:40Everyone, please give it up for Darvood and Nadiya!

0:17:40 > 0:17:46CHEERING.

0:17:46 > 0:17:49I am spent now.

0:17:49 > 0:17:51Now, it might not be Christmas just yet,

0:17:51 > 0:17:54but seeing as you've all been such good boys and girls, we thought

0:17:54 > 0:17:55you deserved a special gift!

0:17:55 > 0:17:58Here, with a guide on how to dance the perfect samba,

0:17:58 > 0:18:00it's Strictly's creative director of choreographer, Jason Gilkison!

0:18:06 > 0:18:11The samba is the most lively and fun of that in American dancing.

0:18:11 > 0:18:17It originated in South America and was the first stars to come into the

0:18:17 > 0:18:21western world into New York in a musical in the 1920s.

0:18:21 > 0:18:25When you watch the Sam Baird you should feel like you are transported

0:18:25 > 0:18:31to Rio in carnival time. It is cheeky, bouncy and above all

0:18:31 > 0:18:38very sexy. The bounce action happens in the

0:18:38 > 0:18:43knees and is like a spring being pushed back and forward. It goes

0:18:43 > 0:18:53from one leg to the other. You get a nice lilt which makes you feel like

0:18:53 > 0:18:58you are into the groove of the dance. One of the first steps, to

0:18:58 > 0:19:03travel around the floor, is the promenade run. It is important to

0:19:03 > 0:19:07connect with your partner on the first step so you face each child,

0:19:07 > 0:19:14and continue down the floor. A top tip learning a promenade run is to

0:19:14 > 0:19:17try and do it with your hands behind your back to make sure you're not

0:19:17 > 0:19:24pushing your partner along the floor. It wouldn't be a samba

0:19:24 > 0:19:33without a samba roll. You can do them in hold, facing, all in shadow

0:19:33 > 0:19:39where you actually are standing behind the lady. The easiest samba

0:19:39 > 0:19:43roll is a natural turn which is where you are facing your partner

0:19:43 > 0:19:47almost in ballroom position and the guy goes up on his toes with his hip

0:19:47 > 0:19:54forward and head back. Then you turn and do the second-half keeping your

0:19:54 > 0:19:59heads in the same place so your heads towards the centre.

0:19:59 > 0:20:07Once you have mastered the natural samba roll, it gets difficult, the

0:20:07 > 0:20:11reverse samba roll. If you are doing them in shadow, it

0:20:11 > 0:20:17is important your partner is on the right side of your body. Both heads

0:20:17 > 0:20:22are together during a giant circle in the sky. The judges are looking

0:20:22 > 0:20:29for a smooth action. A popular step to be edged used in the samba is

0:20:29 > 0:20:39this one. It is a step in Brazil and a rhythm.

0:20:39 > 0:20:44It is really important to get the feet right, a tiny slip backwards, a

0:20:44 > 0:20:49rock forward through the ball off the foot, and a replace, then repeat

0:20:49 > 0:20:54on the other leg. The key is to keep your body soft. If you tighten up it

0:20:54 > 0:21:00will go stiff. Judges are looking for a strong rhythm. Whilst that

0:21:00 > 0:21:08percussion must be vibrating below it is smooth as silk on top.

0:21:08 > 0:21:18The samba is a really sexy, vibrant, energetic dance.

0:21:18 > 0:21:25It is all about the rhythm it is a celebration.

0:21:35 > 0:21:40It is important to have fun. I mean, who knows, you might even get a ten

0:21:40 > 0:21:47from Craig! One of my favourites, thank you to

0:21:47 > 0:21:49Jason and Pasha.

0:21:49 > 0:21:51So we've just seen how to do the perfect samba,

0:21:51 > 0:21:53but will we see perfect swivels in tonight's Pro Challenge?

0:21:53 > 0:21:59It's time to find out!

0:21:59 > 0:22:03This year the Pro Challenge is heading back to the Roaring 20s

0:22:03 > 0:22:07where our pros will attempt to set a record for the most Charleston

0:22:07 > 0:22:16swivel steps in 30 seconds. Judging alongside me bb choreographer Bill

0:22:16 > 0:22:22demur, and official adjudicator Sophie. The swivel step is essential

0:22:22 > 0:22:26in the Charleston and as the Justice -- judges stressed, if it hasn't got

0:22:26 > 0:22:34swivel, it isn't a Charleston. To qualify, our pros have two complete

0:22:34 > 0:22:38one forward and one backward step. If there is no swivel in the feet or

0:22:38 > 0:22:42ankles or if they fail to complete the forward and backward steps, it

0:22:42 > 0:22:48will be disqualified. The challenge will be the hardest and most

0:22:48 > 0:22:55technical our pros have faced but only one person can claim the title.

0:22:55 > 0:22:58Welcome to the Strictly Pro Challenge 2017.

0:22:58 > 0:22:59Thank you.

0:22:59 > 0:23:00Let's welcome our next contender.

0:23:00 > 0:23:03He once said if he wasn't a dancer he would have liked

0:23:03 > 0:23:05to have been a scientist.

0:23:05 > 0:23:06He also loves computer games, and even

0:23:06 > 0:23:07built his own computer!

0:23:07 > 0:23:08So, let the games begin.

0:23:08 > 0:23:11It's Pasha Kovalev!

0:23:11 > 0:23:17CHEERING.

0:23:21 > 0:23:29Look at those hips! Yes! Hello, darling!

0:23:29 > 0:23:31Such a gentleman.

0:23:31 > 0:23:33It's been a while since we've seen you.

0:23:33 > 0:23:37What have you been up to?

0:23:37 > 0:23:41Welcome back. Exciting news.

0:23:41 > 0:23:43You're part of this year's Strictly Christmas Special.

0:23:43 > 0:23:48What's it been like reuniting with Kimberly Walsh?

0:23:48 > 0:23:53You know what? I was wondering myself before we actually started

0:23:53 > 0:23:58dancing how will it be? And it felt like we never left.

0:23:58 > 0:24:02You've both still got it. It is the connection we had and how

0:24:02 > 0:24:09easy it was to practice and do the dancing choreography.

0:24:09 > 0:24:11When it come to swivels, you look pretty good

0:24:11 > 0:24:12on paper, young man.

0:24:12 > 0:24:15Your Charleston with both Kimberly and Caroline achieved top scores!

0:24:15 > 0:24:24You feeling confident?

0:24:24 > 0:24:32On paper, yes! OK. Let us look at the Leader Board.

0:24:32 > 0:24:39Cathkin is at the top, does that intimidate you?

0:24:39 > 0:24:47-- catchier. She is a fast girl. Possibly.

0:24:47 > 0:24:53Let's take a look at how you got on.

0:24:53 > 0:24:57I have to make sure my swivel is perfect so the judges are happy.

0:24:57 > 0:25:04Hello. Welcome to the Strictly Pro

0:25:04 > 0:25:07Challenge. I like this box.

0:25:07 > 0:25:11It is lovely. Quite serious. You have done more
