0:00:05 > 0:00:07Ladies and gentlemen, we have an Apprentice first.
0:00:07 > 0:00:11There has never in the history of the show been more than one winner.
0:00:11 > 0:00:13Never until now. I'm Rhod Gilbert.
0:00:13 > 0:00:17Welcome to The Apprentice: You're Hired And You're Hired As Well.
0:00:17 > 0:00:20Unbelievably, Lord Sugar has doubled his investment and agreed to pay
0:00:20 > 0:00:26out a total of £500,000 to Sarah and James as his new business partners.
0:00:26 > 0:00:28It was a stressful few days for our two finalists
0:00:28 > 0:00:32and the mood in both camps was very, very serious.
0:00:32 > 0:00:34Merge them together and "Connect-it".
0:00:34 > 0:00:36The only thing I would say is, like, do you know when you put it
0:00:36 > 0:00:38all together and then, look at that,
0:00:38 > 0:00:40you've got, like, "TIT". I just don't...
0:00:43 > 0:00:46In the studio tonight, we'll be meeting both winners and finding
0:00:46 > 0:00:50out from Lord Sugar first-hand why he made this historic decision.
0:00:50 > 0:00:53Plus I'll be remembering some of the good, the bad and the lovely
0:00:53 > 0:00:57moments from this year's series, with help from all the candidates.
0:00:57 > 0:00:59To help me sort out the wheat from the other wheat,
0:00:59 > 0:01:03I need a panel of Apprentice fans and guests and I've got one.
0:01:03 > 0:01:06So, ladies and gentlemen, please welcome, Apprentice uberfan,
0:01:06 > 0:01:09comedian Russell Kane, the one and only Karren Brady
0:01:09 > 0:01:11and the equally unique Mr Claude Littner!
0:01:17 > 0:01:21- Hello, again.- Good to see you. - Mr Littner.- All right.- Welcome.
0:01:26 > 0:01:30So, Claude, Claude, I'll come to you first. I can hardly believe my ears.
0:01:30 > 0:01:33Lord Sugar's gone and hired them both. Did you have a hand in this?
0:01:33 > 0:01:35Well, I didn't have a hand in it exactly,
0:01:35 > 0:01:37but I'm very, very pleased with the outcome. I think it's brilliant.
0:01:37 > 0:01:40Good. Karren? Lord Sugar's got to stump up £500,000.
0:01:40 > 0:01:42Are you going to have to lend him a bit?
0:01:42 > 0:01:46Oh, no, ha-ha-ha, I think he's going to be fine on that front.
0:01:46 > 0:01:48You know what Alan loves, he loves investing in people,
0:01:48 > 0:01:50he loves investing in business.
0:01:50 > 0:01:53He believes so passionately in giving people a chance and he
0:01:53 > 0:01:56saw two young people and he couldn't tear himself between the two
0:01:56 > 0:01:59of them so he's going to back them both and good for him.
0:01:59 > 0:02:02Fair enough. Russell, I know you're a massive Apprentice fan,
0:02:02 > 0:02:06- been watching it for years. WTF? - I know.- HLSGB?
0:02:06 > 0:02:09- Has Lord Sugar gone bonkers? - It was a mic drop.
0:02:09 > 0:02:11I thought a microphone was going to come up from behind the desk
0:02:11 > 0:02:14and he was just going to drop it and drop 500 large ones.
0:02:14 > 0:02:16It's the best result, though, isn't it?
0:02:16 > 0:02:19The show's about recruitment, Lord Sugar's named after a sweet.
0:02:19 > 0:02:20He had to hire both of them.
0:02:22 > 0:02:25It's the best... I think James' middle parting in Fashion Week
0:02:25 > 0:02:27was a metaphor for how the show was going to finish.
0:02:28 > 0:02:32So, much more to come but first, for the last time this series,
0:02:32 > 0:02:34let's see what's made the Apprentice News.
0:02:37 > 0:02:38Team GB rejects accusations
0:02:38 > 0:02:41of athletes taking performance-reducing drugs.
0:02:45 > 0:02:48James is unsure when Joanna advises him
0:02:48 > 0:02:50to wear a bikini for his big pitch.
0:02:50 > 0:02:53I've done a pageant before and it really makes a difference.
0:02:55 > 0:02:58Claude explains to Lord Sugar how he chooses
0:02:58 > 0:03:00between a madras and a vindaloo.
0:03:00 > 0:03:04The truth is, Alan, in the end, your gut tells you everything.
0:03:07 > 0:03:10And that was tonight's Apprentice News.
0:03:10 > 0:03:13Now, I don't know if I've mentioned it, but we have an historic
0:03:13 > 0:03:16Apprentice moment on our hands, a win-win, no loser, double win.
0:03:16 > 0:03:19A win that's a draw and a win all at the same time.
0:03:19 > 0:03:22Here's the moment Lord Sugar took us all by surprise.
0:03:22 > 0:03:24Not least James and Sarah.
0:03:27 > 0:03:29Um, I'm going to say...
0:03:33 > 0:03:36..that I'm a gambler...
0:03:36 > 0:03:38..and I've always been a gambler in business.
0:03:41 > 0:03:42This particular year...
0:03:45 > 0:03:47..I'm going to double my investment
0:03:47 > 0:03:50and I'm going to start a business with both of you.
0:03:52 > 0:03:54Thank you.
0:03:54 > 0:03:58Please welcome Apprentice 2017 winners James White and Sarah Lynn.
0:04:03 > 0:04:07Sarah, good to meet you. Congratulations, James.
0:04:07 > 0:04:08Thank you, thank you.
0:04:08 > 0:04:12- Part of Apprentice history, Sarah? - Oh, it's incredible.
0:04:12 > 0:04:14It is just the best feeling, the best outcome.
0:04:14 > 0:04:15- It's a dream come true.- Yeah.
0:04:15 > 0:04:17- Were you surprised, James, when you both won?- Yeah.
0:04:17 > 0:04:20Yeah, I was very surprised, but I couldn't win with someone
0:04:20 > 0:04:22better, so a good outcome all round, right?
0:04:22 > 0:04:26Right. And we need to speak to both of you, obviously, but I'm going to
0:04:26 > 0:04:30follow Lord Sugar's example, how we choose who we speak to first.
0:04:30 > 0:04:34- So, James, you call it.- Heads. - Sorry, ladies first.
0:04:39 > 0:04:41All right, let's run it again.
0:04:41 > 0:04:43James, you call.
0:04:45 > 0:04:47- Karren, you call it.- Uh, heads.
0:04:47 > 0:04:50It is heads. We'll talk to Sarah first.
0:04:50 > 0:04:53James, into the audience, off you go.
0:04:53 > 0:04:55We'll speak to you later.
0:04:57 > 0:05:02So, Sarah. Part of Apprentice history, how does it feel?
0:05:02 > 0:05:06- You happy?- Oh, it's just... It's incredible. I'm speechless.
0:05:06 > 0:05:08- It's so, so good. - Don't be speechless tonight.
0:05:08 > 0:05:10You can't be speechless. Can't be speechless, we need to talk to you.
0:05:10 > 0:05:13I'm told I need to speak up, so, yeah, it's incredible.
0:05:13 > 0:05:15I'm so happy and so proud and privileged to be a part of it
0:05:15 > 0:05:19- and just cannot wait to get started now.- You got emotional in the final.
0:05:19 > 0:05:22We haven't seen a huge amount of emotion from you throughout
0:05:22 > 0:05:24the series, but in the final, you sort of...
0:05:24 > 0:05:28I tried to hold it back at work and in business, and just try to crack
0:05:28 > 0:05:32on, as you saw, and it was nice, I think, just the final,
0:05:32 > 0:05:33I got to talk about my business,
0:05:33 > 0:05:35I got to talk about things I was passionate about, which was
0:05:35 > 0:05:39a bit different to picking up dog poo and hosting fashion shows.
0:05:39 > 0:05:42So, for me, it was just great and I loved it and it was a relief and I'm
0:05:42 > 0:05:45just so happy that I made it there cos that was always the aim, so...
0:05:45 > 0:05:49- It's been a long process, tough process.- Yeah, it's tough.
0:05:49 > 0:05:51- Did you enjoy it all or was it just the ending?- No, I enjoyed...
0:05:51 > 0:05:54I think, at the time, you're so engrossed in it all,
0:05:54 > 0:05:56you don't even understand what an incredible experience it is
0:05:56 > 0:05:59and how much you'll learn about yourself and everything,
0:05:59 > 0:06:00so you're just sort of coping day-to-day
0:06:00 > 0:06:04and living in a house with...er, amazing people, over there.
0:06:04 > 0:06:07No, it's just, the whole thing's quite overwhelming
0:06:07 > 0:06:10so it's only afterwards, when you're talking with your family
0:06:10 > 0:06:12and friends, you realise what an incredible thing it is
0:06:12 > 0:06:15and hopefully does lots of good things in the future for me.
0:06:15 > 0:06:19- Karren.- Yes.- Was there a time that you remembering starting to think
0:06:19 > 0:06:21that you had a potential winner there? Do you remember a moment?
0:06:21 > 0:06:22I think it...
0:06:22 > 0:06:25Sarah would say this was her lowest point
0:06:25 > 0:06:28but I thought it was quite a high point.
0:06:28 > 0:06:30And that was in the robot task,
0:06:30 > 0:06:33when you had that terrible row in the street
0:06:33 > 0:06:37and it was all going really badly, everything was falling apart,
0:06:37 > 0:06:42all the girls were fighting amongst each other but, as always,
0:06:42 > 0:06:48you managed to retain your cool, be sensible, not get emotional,
0:06:48 > 0:06:50try and steer your way through
0:06:50 > 0:06:52and I thought, "This is the sort of woman
0:06:52 > 0:06:55"that I would be in these type of situations -
0:06:55 > 0:06:57"try to be strong, try to bring people together,
0:06:57 > 0:07:01"try to avoid the conflict, walk away from the arguments,"
0:07:01 > 0:07:04and I thought, "You're going places."
0:07:04 > 0:07:08- Oh, thank you.- Sarah has managed to sort of avoid a lot of the drama.
0:07:08 > 0:07:10Claude, did you see her winning this?
0:07:10 > 0:07:12Well, I'll tell you that I think that Sarah, right from the start,
0:07:12 > 0:07:16was a very good candidate and one has to say that she was composed.
0:07:16 > 0:07:18For me, I had a moment,
0:07:18 > 0:07:21if you like, when you and James were in the car in Bruges,
0:07:21 > 0:07:25when James came up with one idea, to try and get some chocolate samples free,
0:07:25 > 0:07:28and you then came up with the idea of actually trying to get
0:07:28 > 0:07:30some commission for bringing the people in and, at that moment,
0:07:30 > 0:07:32I thought, "These are two very, very bright people,
0:07:32 > 0:07:35"with real entrepreneurial spirit," so that, for me, was the moment when,
0:07:35 > 0:07:38from that moment on, I thought, "I'm really taking these two seriously."
0:07:38 > 0:07:40I thought you got the ferry to Bruges.
0:07:42 > 0:07:45Such a nit-picker.
0:07:45 > 0:07:47Russell, did you see her winning this?
0:07:47 > 0:07:50You know I did, Rhod, cos I was on very early in the run of this show
0:07:50 > 0:07:53and you asked me to predict a winner and I picked Sarah straightaway.
0:07:53 > 0:07:56In fact, I think I've cracked a bit of a formula with this show.
0:07:56 > 0:07:59It's always... Yes, it's an ambitious, passionate person,
0:07:59 > 0:08:02but clear-headed, calm under duress, driven.
0:08:02 > 0:08:04The people that never win are never the people that say, "I'm going
0:08:04 > 0:08:07"to smash everyone, if I lose, I'm going to set the house on fire.
0:08:07 > 0:08:10"When I'm indoors, I wear a mask of Lord Sugar with the eyes cut out.
0:08:10 > 0:08:13"I will win The Apprentice this year." Those people never win.
0:08:13 > 0:08:16It's always the people that go slightly down the middle and that's
0:08:16 > 0:08:19what you did - the silent killer, in your ninja mask at the back.
0:08:19 > 0:08:21"I will win" and, bang, investment and out.
0:08:21 > 0:08:25Well, Sarah, let's meet your new business partner.
0:08:25 > 0:08:27Please welcome Lord Sugar!
0:08:33 > 0:08:36- Welcome.- How are you, Rhod?- Welcome. I'm very well. Grab a seat.
0:08:36 > 0:08:40Grab a seat. You've made history. A double win on The Apprentice.
0:08:40 > 0:08:41Yes, yes.
0:08:41 > 0:08:44This is a historic moment, I suppose,
0:08:44 > 0:08:47in the 13 years we've been doing this, is that right?
0:08:47 > 0:08:51Yeah. And it's really because of... Well, I said it in the episode.
0:08:51 > 0:08:55- I was... Couldn't make a decision. It had to be both of them.- Yeah.
0:08:55 > 0:08:56Is that it, really...
0:08:56 > 0:08:59Just couldn't? If you'd stayed there a few more days?
0:08:59 > 0:09:02You could do that, flip a coin, but that would've been unfair,
0:09:02 > 0:09:03wouldn't it, really?
0:09:03 > 0:09:08Yeah, they were two genuinely great experts in their fields
0:09:08 > 0:09:12- and I'm looking forward to going into business with them.- Yeah.
0:09:12 > 0:09:15And you must feel... You know, chucking out £500,000.
0:09:15 > 0:09:17Oh, I thought you was going to say something...
0:09:17 > 0:09:19I thought you were going to say to me,
0:09:19 > 0:09:21"You must really feel one of them's better than the other."
0:09:21 > 0:09:24Oh, yeah, that's good TV! Which one do you prefer?
0:09:24 > 0:09:27- Which one do you like best? - Um, yeah.
0:09:27 > 0:09:32Um, no, I like them both so, no, it's £500,000, as you've said, you
0:09:32 > 0:09:35know, it just goes to show that the investment that I'm prepared to
0:09:35 > 0:09:40make means that I'm genuinely... was genuinely torn as to who
0:09:40 > 0:09:42I was going to go into business with.
0:09:42 > 0:09:45Even for you, that's a lot of money.
0:09:45 > 0:09:48- Double the risk. - Yeah, double the risk.
0:09:48 > 0:09:51Yeah, but, you know, as I said in the film, I'm a gambler, so...
0:09:51 > 0:09:55You know. I'm sure I've placed a good bet here.
0:09:55 > 0:09:59I haven't gone wrong in the past with all the other people
0:09:59 > 0:10:03that we've gone into business with. They seem to have done OK.
0:10:03 > 0:10:06The closest I can come to this, to get my head around it, is sometimes
0:10:06 > 0:10:09in Indian restaurants I can't decide between a prawn madras
0:10:09 > 0:10:11- and a chicken biryani. - Yeah.- So I have both.
0:10:12 > 0:10:15The investment here is slightly more.
0:10:15 > 0:10:18Yeah, little less spicy, I would think.
0:10:18 > 0:10:21On to Sarah specifically, what did you see in her?
0:10:21 > 0:10:26Well, I think a very steady businessperson who's already
0:10:26 > 0:10:30got a business going and has successfully run a business
0:10:30 > 0:10:33and I think it's ready to go like that.
0:10:33 > 0:10:35That's the point, to scale it up,
0:10:35 > 0:10:38and that's where I come into it, where my people come into it,
0:10:38 > 0:10:42to go that next mile where she's got the confidence now to have an
0:10:42 > 0:10:47investor like me to actually tell her what she can do
0:10:47 > 0:10:50and what she can't do and give her the confidence to move it forward.
0:10:50 > 0:10:55I have no idea about sweets, other than they break my teeth,
0:10:55 > 0:10:59and you're the boss, you know your business.
0:10:59 > 0:11:02All I'm going to do is make sure that we're going to do
0:11:02 > 0:11:05the correct mentoring from a business point of view.
0:11:05 > 0:11:07I think we'll expand that business very, very quickly.
0:11:07 > 0:11:11OK. Sarah's confectionary business plan and can-dy attitude...
0:11:11 > 0:11:14LORD SUGAR GROANS ..clearly appealed.
0:11:14 > 0:11:18Clearly appealed to Lord Sugar and ended with the sweet,
0:11:18 > 0:11:19sweet smell of success.
0:11:19 > 0:11:22Let's see where it all went so sweet.
0:11:22 > 0:11:27Now, Sarah, you already run a sweets gifting business, but I need
0:11:27 > 0:11:29convincing that you can grow your
0:11:29 > 0:11:31new business into a giant brand.
0:11:31 > 0:11:34Sarah's Chic Sweets and then the strapline is
0:11:34 > 0:11:35"saying it with sweets".
0:11:35 > 0:11:37I mean, there's a lot of sweets
0:11:37 > 0:11:38in there. I'm feeling stressed out.
0:11:38 > 0:11:41Lord Sugar was looking for a brand that had growth
0:11:41 > 0:11:44and scalability and Sarah's Chic Sweets just doesn't do it.
0:11:44 > 0:11:46I also thought of Sweeteze.
0:11:46 > 0:11:50It's punchy, it's one word, it's not such a mouthful.
0:11:50 > 0:11:52- I think that works a lot better. - Much happier with this.
0:11:52 > 0:11:55Retro candy, saying it with sweets.
0:11:55 > 0:11:56Creating memories.
0:11:56 > 0:11:59The whole concept of Sweeteze is about sending a smile in a jar.
0:12:01 > 0:12:04She's right. There's no-one doing this particularly well within
0:12:04 > 0:12:08- the industry.- Lord Sugar, this won't just be an investment for you.
0:12:08 > 0:12:11I will be the most successful Apprentice candidate there has been.
0:12:12 > 0:12:13Big words!
0:12:13 > 0:12:16We did see a more competitive Sarah in that final bit in the boardroom.
0:12:16 > 0:12:18- You and James...- Yeah.
0:12:18 > 0:12:21Sort of little tug, little bit of competitive spirit coming out there.
0:12:21 > 0:12:23Well, you're fighting, at that point, for your life,
0:12:23 > 0:12:26and you just have to really, you have to go for it and you
0:12:26 > 0:12:29have to say everything you want to say and you have to try and be calm.
0:12:29 > 0:12:32And it is, it's... Yeah. It's not an environment... It's not fun.
0:12:32 > 0:12:33But it's your one chance
0:12:33 > 0:12:35to explain to Lord Sugar and Karren and Claude,
0:12:35 > 0:12:37what you're about and that you do have passion
0:12:37 > 0:12:41- and that you can succeed. - It was a stressful few days.- Yeah.
0:12:41 > 0:12:42That long walk down.
0:12:42 > 0:12:45It's always such a long walk they make you do down to the pitch.
0:12:45 > 0:12:48What was going through your mind on that half-hour walk?
0:12:48 > 0:12:50Do you know, it was...
0:12:50 > 0:12:54It was just surreal, to be walking down there and,
0:12:54 > 0:12:58to be honest, I was really excited and pumped up
0:12:58 > 0:13:00and I think the nerves were less than they had been at other stages
0:13:00 > 0:13:03because I knew what I was talking about and it was my business
0:13:03 > 0:13:06and my idea, so I felt really confident, but, obviously,
0:13:06 > 0:13:09as you walk down those stairs, it's overwhelming to see everybody
0:13:09 > 0:13:11and to see Lord Sugar and Karren and Claude and you just want
0:13:11 > 0:13:14to give it your all and you want to say everything in five minutes
0:13:14 > 0:13:17and you have to kind of just think about what you say and breathe.
0:13:17 > 0:13:18You clearly did a fab job.
0:13:18 > 0:13:21Russell, whenever I watch that pitch...
0:13:21 > 0:13:23I mean, comedians, we do that kind of thing,
0:13:23 > 0:13:27stand up on your own in front of the public every night.
0:13:27 > 0:13:29Every time I watch that, every year, I think that looks terrifying.
0:13:29 > 0:13:32I mean, I am a seasoned performer, I go out in front of people
0:13:32 > 0:13:35every night, but to go in front of your peers, terrifying.
0:13:35 > 0:13:37I would have come down those stairs like...
0:13:37 > 0:13:40Do you know when a horse has just been born and its legs...
0:13:40 > 0:13:43I probably would have overdosed on Imodium in the toilets.
0:13:43 > 0:13:46There's also never a gig worth £250,000 at the end of it.
0:13:46 > 0:13:50No. Well, there is at some of mine, but that's beside the point.
0:13:52 > 0:13:55Lord Sugar, do you feel pressure in those pitches,
0:13:55 > 0:13:58because you've assembled all these industry experts,
0:13:58 > 0:14:01this throng of people and then you've got two people very nervous,
0:14:01 > 0:14:03you know, putting themselves out. If that goes badly, does it...?
0:14:03 > 0:14:06Yeah, yeah, yeah, you do feel a little bit nervous that
0:14:06 > 0:14:11I have called in experts and I've got my two candidates there
0:14:11 > 0:14:16who could really embarrass themselves in front of everyone.
0:14:16 > 0:14:20Once they get going, you can see the nerves are draining out of them
0:14:20 > 0:14:22and they're getting on with it.
0:14:22 > 0:14:25This was the product that you very cannily, I thought,
0:14:25 > 0:14:29left around for everybody, just as a little bribe.
0:14:29 > 0:14:32Much more difficult for James to leave his IT branding.
0:14:32 > 0:14:35"Dear Lord Sugar, here's to a sweet new business venture,
0:14:35 > 0:14:38"yours sincerely, Sarah Lynn." You looked impressed with this.
0:14:38 > 0:14:39It's a good idea.
0:14:39 > 0:14:43And it was designed so that it goes through a letterbox
0:14:43 > 0:14:48- and you can see a sleeve go over it. - Claude was tucking in at one point.
0:14:48 > 0:14:52- Those are your favourite.- It never touched my lips, Alan, honestly.
0:14:52 > 0:14:57- What goes there? Prawns.- I couldn't tell you.- Prawns or that one.
0:14:57 > 0:14:58How many boxes did you get through, Claude?
0:14:58 > 0:15:00- Be honest.- About three, yeah.
0:15:02 > 0:15:04It's a good bribe.
0:15:04 > 0:15:06You originally had Harrison's branding, of course,
0:15:06 > 0:15:08that they came up with, the...
0:15:08 > 0:15:09HE TRIPS OVER THE WORDS
0:15:09 > 0:15:13The tongue twister they come up with. Harrison?
0:15:13 > 0:15:15What have you got to say for yourself?
0:15:15 > 0:15:17Sarah has seen the final now herself,
0:15:17 > 0:15:20she can see the absolute lies you told about the market research.
0:15:22 > 0:15:24"100% of people loved it, everyone is going to rush home
0:15:24 > 0:15:27"and sell their house to buy as many sweets as they can.
0:15:27 > 0:15:29"I wish you could have been there. I wish you could have been there."
0:15:29 > 0:15:32You didn't mention the terrible billboard.
0:15:32 > 0:15:34No, to be honest, I just wanted her to do well.
0:15:34 > 0:15:38She had a stressful situation coming up so I don't think a few negative
0:15:38 > 0:15:41comments from some angry commuters would have helped that, so...
0:15:42 > 0:15:45Karren, they didn't give her the negative feedback.
0:15:45 > 0:15:48How well did Sarah's team support her vision, do you think?
0:15:48 > 0:15:53Well, I don't think they really understood Sarah's...
0:15:53 > 0:15:55- LORD SUGAR:- Don't hold back.
0:15:55 > 0:15:57I'll try to be as polite and as direct as possible.
0:15:57 > 0:16:00But I think you were clearly disappointed.
0:16:00 > 0:16:06You are all about an elegant yet direct solution to problems.
0:16:06 > 0:16:09I've noticed that in all the weeks I've followed you.
0:16:09 > 0:16:13And yet the brand with the sweets and the umbrella and the name,
0:16:13 > 0:16:15I really did feel for you.
0:16:15 > 0:16:19Your sub team, Sarah, had to get on with the billboard,
0:16:19 > 0:16:22- the promotional video, without you there to supervise.- Yes.
0:16:22 > 0:16:25Let's remind ourselves how your creative supremos got on.
0:16:26 > 0:16:27Action.
0:16:29 > 0:16:34Siobhan, you're taking the piss! Give him the flowers.
0:16:34 > 0:16:37Siobhan! You can't just do that!
0:16:37 > 0:16:39All right, I'll do it properly now.
0:16:39 > 0:16:41Do it properly, stop being a bellend!
0:16:41 > 0:16:44- Delivery?- You're kidding me, sending me this crap.
0:16:44 > 0:16:46- Action!- No!
0:16:46 > 0:16:49I've got to ring the doorbell!
0:16:49 > 0:16:51Give over, Siobhan, you're being annoying.
0:16:54 > 0:16:57Siobhan, Siobhan, where are you?
0:16:57 > 0:17:00That promotional video looked fun to shoot.
0:17:00 > 0:17:02Are you disappointed your bit throwing the flowers
0:17:02 > 0:17:04into the street didn't make the final cut?
0:17:04 > 0:17:05I'm devastated, yeah.
0:17:07 > 0:17:11Michaela, you weren't sure that Sarah was going to like what you
0:17:11 > 0:17:14came up with and you were right, she didn't, but she got on with it.
0:17:14 > 0:17:16Yes, it wasn't great, was it?
0:17:16 > 0:17:18But I was dealing with Siobhan and Andrew...
0:17:18 > 0:17:21Oh, no, it was Harrison, actually. Siobhan and Harrison, even worse!
0:17:21 > 0:17:23Was it fun, shooting that video?
0:17:23 > 0:17:27- Do you think it looked fun? - I thought Siobhan was having fun.
0:17:27 > 0:17:32Well, we have Sarah's family in the audience, I believe.
0:17:32 > 0:17:35Family Lynn, where are you guys? Give us a wave.
0:17:35 > 0:17:37There's loads of them.
0:17:37 > 0:17:41- Dad, Kevin, are you up there? - I'm here.- Did you expect her to win?
0:17:41 > 0:17:44Did I expect her to win? The apple didn't fall far from the tree.
0:17:46 > 0:17:49Lord Sugar has made a very, very good investment.
0:17:49 > 0:17:52Mum, Jackie, where are you?
0:17:52 > 0:17:56Where does she get her supercool confident, unflappable,
0:17:56 > 0:17:59- Zen-like calm from? - Me.
0:17:59 > 0:18:01- Does she?- Yes.
0:18:02 > 0:18:04And also, I think she picked up
0:18:04 > 0:18:07a few tips from Karren along the way, as well.
0:18:07 > 0:18:12- Definitely.- Sarah, your husband's up there as well, I think?- Yes.
0:18:12 > 0:18:14I think Michael's up there as well.
0:18:14 > 0:18:17Sarah was obviously very emotional in that final,
0:18:17 > 0:18:19she says she's given up a lot at home to go through this process.
0:18:19 > 0:18:22Were you secretly hoping she'd get chucked out
0:18:22 > 0:18:23a little bit earlier so she'd come home?
0:18:23 > 0:18:26I don't know, I was enjoying the time off as well, to be honest.
0:18:28 > 0:18:30Does she have another side? Spill the beans.
0:18:30 > 0:18:32- What's she like at home? - She's really funny.
0:18:32 > 0:18:34It's kind of funny seeing her on the telly, everyone's going,
0:18:34 > 0:18:36"You're so serious, why are you so serious?"
0:18:36 > 0:18:39- But at home, she's a completely different character.- Is that true?
0:18:39 > 0:18:42I do have a fun side. I think it's just it's a business show
0:18:42 > 0:18:44and I'm focused, but, honestly,
0:18:44 > 0:18:46I am not totally personality-less, I hope.
0:18:46 > 0:18:50I don't think you came across as personality-less,
0:18:50 > 0:18:51but very serious and focused.
0:18:51 > 0:18:54Even my father was saying, "In every shot, you're like this,"
0:18:54 > 0:18:57- this serious face.- Were you trying to hide that fun side a bit?
0:18:57 > 0:18:59That's cos the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
0:19:01 > 0:19:03I think even, yeah, my family watching were like,
0:19:03 > 0:19:06"Gosh, you are serious," but I think it's just that I was focused
0:19:06 > 0:19:08and I desperately wanted to win and make my mark,
0:19:08 > 0:19:11so, yeah, on camera that comes across a certain way.
0:19:11 > 0:19:14Did you never, when the cameras weren't there, were you like, right,
0:19:14 > 0:19:15put a clown hat on, squirty water flower,
0:19:15 > 0:19:18dancing on the roof, "This is the real me!"?
0:19:18 > 0:19:21- What goes on in the house, stays in the house.- Right!
0:19:21 > 0:19:24Well, it's the end of the series, so, throughout this evening,
0:19:24 > 0:19:26we will be presenting a host of awards to candidates
0:19:26 > 0:19:28who have stood out in a particular field.
0:19:28 > 0:19:31The You're Fired Excellence in Business Awards,
0:19:31 > 0:19:33or YFEBAs for short.
0:19:33 > 0:19:35This first award recognises that, under pressure,
0:19:35 > 0:19:37we can all look like a bit of a numpty.
0:19:37 > 0:19:41Yes, this YFEBA is for silliest question.
0:19:41 > 0:19:43Let's have a look at who's made the short list.
0:19:45 > 0:19:47And the nominees are...
0:19:47 > 0:19:51Harrison, for his hilarious historical howler.
0:19:51 > 0:19:53- We're in a Norman setting.- Medieval?
0:19:53 > 0:19:55They didn't even have cars then, did they?
0:19:55 > 0:20:00Chris, for his "I think I'll tempt fate... Oh, dear."
0:20:00 > 0:20:03- Do you not feel I performed well in the first four tasks?- No.
0:20:03 > 0:20:08Joanna, for her harebrained horticultural humdinger.
0:20:08 > 0:20:11Something to do with the setting, fir trees.
0:20:11 > 0:20:15- Is there such a thing as a tree with fur?- It's F-I-R.
0:20:15 > 0:20:18And Charles, for asking the wrong question
0:20:18 > 0:20:21to the wrong person at the wrong time.
0:20:21 > 0:20:23Is it possible just to have a breakdown of the girls,
0:20:23 > 0:20:27- what did they sell, versus... - It's nothing to do with you.
0:20:28 > 0:20:30A hell of a lot more than you, anyway.
0:20:33 > 0:20:36And the winner is Charles, ladies and gentlemen.
0:20:42 > 0:20:43Charles, there you go.
0:20:43 > 0:20:45Congratulations. Let me shake that hand.
0:20:45 > 0:20:48Silliest question. What were you thinking?
0:20:48 > 0:20:50Um, I was thinking that if we knew where they'd won,
0:20:50 > 0:20:53we'd better be able to pick where we'd failed. That was it.
0:20:53 > 0:20:54I thoroughly enjoyed the moment.
0:20:54 > 0:20:56Lord Sugar, now that we've got you here,
0:20:56 > 0:20:58what was the breakdown of the ladies figures?
0:20:58 > 0:21:00- I can't remember. - A hell of a lot more than you!
0:21:00 > 0:21:02A hell of a lot more than you, mate!
0:21:02 > 0:21:04Thanks very much, Charles, ladies and gentlemen.
0:21:08 > 0:21:14Lord Sugar, what would you do without your trusted confidants,
0:21:14 > 0:21:18- Karren and Claude?- It would be impossible, really, in truth,
0:21:18 > 0:21:22for me to know what to ask the candidates
0:21:22 > 0:21:24when we're in the boardroom, because they are,
0:21:24 > 0:21:28as I've always said, my eyes and ears. They don't miss a trick.
0:21:28 > 0:21:30And they've been at it for so long...
0:21:30 > 0:21:32Take that in the nicest way.
0:21:33 > 0:21:35I was just thinking that.
0:21:35 > 0:21:37- Um... - LAUGHTER
0:21:37 > 0:21:40No, it's not possible. It's a team, you see.
0:21:40 > 0:21:43We are a team, so, sometimes in the boardroom,
0:21:43 > 0:21:46when things get a bit heated, Karren steps in and Claude steps in
0:21:46 > 0:21:50and just shuts them down, when there's a turmoil going on
0:21:50 > 0:21:53because they know what went on out in the street
0:21:53 > 0:21:55and all that stuff and then of course they can jump up
0:21:55 > 0:21:58suddenly and say, "No, no, no, that's not exactly what went on.
0:21:58 > 0:22:01"Would you mind clarifying that for Lord Sugar a little bit?"
0:22:01 > 0:22:02A very polite way of doing it,
0:22:02 > 0:22:04rather than saying, "You bloody liar."
0:22:06 > 0:22:09But, no, it wouldn't be possible.
0:22:09 > 0:22:11It would not be possible without these two.
0:22:11 > 0:22:16How hard is it sometimes, Karren, not to jump in,
0:22:16 > 0:22:18- when chaos is unfolding. - Not that hard.
0:22:19 > 0:22:24No, I mean, there is a tendency to go, "Oh, come on!"
0:22:24 > 0:22:27But the truth is that Alan is not looking to offer an investment
0:22:27 > 0:22:31to Claude and I, so he doesn't want us to help them.
0:22:31 > 0:22:34He doesn't want them to fail but he doesn't want us to help them.
0:22:34 > 0:22:37He wants to see how they cope on their own.
0:22:37 > 0:22:39We see you at interview stage, Claude, and, Karren, we have
0:22:39 > 0:22:42a little running joke that Karren is harsh but fair
0:22:42 > 0:22:45but this year at the interview stage, I thought
0:22:45 > 0:22:48you forgot the fair bit. You were pretty harsh.
0:22:48 > 0:22:51I think on the contrary, I think I've been misunderstood.
0:22:53 > 0:22:56My sole objective is to try and find a business plan
0:22:56 > 0:22:59and the individual and make sure that those are the ones
0:22:59 > 0:23:01that go through to the next round,
0:23:01 > 0:23:02so, for me, I'm only caring
0:23:02 > 0:23:05about making sure that the business plan hangs together
0:23:05 > 0:23:07and the person is investable. That's it.
0:23:07 > 0:23:12So if by chance I happen to be a bit direct with some of the people,
0:23:12 > 0:23:14that is very unfortunate, but, truthfully,
0:23:14 > 0:23:16my only objective is to actually
0:23:16 > 0:23:18find the best candidate to go through.
0:23:18 > 0:23:21OK. How would you cope, Russell, with Karren and Claude?
0:23:21 > 0:23:22Following your every move.
0:23:22 > 0:23:25I can imagine it being a stand-up gig
0:23:25 > 0:23:28and just the light bouncing off the stage and seeing Claude
0:23:28 > 0:23:31- sat there passively watching a stand-up set...- Making notes!
0:23:31 > 0:23:33The joke had no internal structure.
0:23:35 > 0:23:37It was an incoherent narrative
0:23:37 > 0:23:39and I wouldn't laugh even if Lord Sugar paid me.
0:23:41 > 0:23:44Well, The Apprentice wouldn't be The Apprentice without Karren
0:23:44 > 0:23:47and Claude hiding in hedges and leaping out of cupboards.
0:23:47 > 0:23:49This year, they've gone to ever greater lengths to keep
0:23:49 > 0:23:53their beady eyes on our candidates and dob them in to Lord Sugar.
0:23:53 > 0:23:57MUSIC: Simply The Best by Tina Turner
0:24:02 > 0:24:04I have eyes on the back of my head.
0:24:06 > 0:24:07Nothing will escape my attention.
0:24:15 > 0:24:16It's not rocket science, this.
0:24:16 > 0:24:19Poo, bag, put the two together and clean-up.
0:24:19 > 0:24:22A complete and colossal waste of precious time.
0:24:22 > 0:24:25Just monogram the thing and get out and get on.
0:24:25 > 0:24:27That's a good bit of business, rather tasty.
0:24:27 > 0:24:29Toe curling.
0:24:29 > 0:24:31- She certainly has style.- Absolutely.
0:24:31 > 0:24:32And so do I.
0:24:37 > 0:24:40APPLAUSE
0:24:40 > 0:24:42Sarah, to give you an idea of what partnership with Lord Sugar
0:24:42 > 0:24:45is going to be like, we've got some previous winners out there.
0:24:45 > 0:24:49Can we talk to Tom? Tom Pellereau? 2011.
0:24:49 > 0:24:52And Alana is there. Alana, 2016, hello.
0:24:52 > 0:24:54- Hi.- Hi, there.
0:24:54 > 0:24:57Tom, you set up a business with Lord Sugar after winning in 2011.
0:24:57 > 0:25:01What one piece of advice would you give to Sarah?
0:25:01 > 0:25:03Well, this is rather difficult because he's here,
0:25:03 > 0:25:05but absolutely listen to what he says
0:25:05 > 0:25:08because he is a business genius and, with his help,
0:25:08 > 0:25:11my business should reach 4,000,000 turnover this year
0:25:11 > 0:25:15and for a little inventor like me, that's just insane
0:25:15 > 0:25:17and that's all because of listening to him.
0:25:17 > 0:25:20Alana, you were sat where Sarah is sitting this time last year,
0:25:20 > 0:25:24in the winner's chair. What's the last 12 months been like for you?
0:25:24 > 0:25:27It's been incredible. Congratulations, Sarah, by the way.
0:25:27 > 0:25:30- Thank you.- You're going to have the most incredible year.
0:25:30 > 0:25:33I've gone from being a baker in my own kitchen, just me
0:25:33 > 0:25:35and my partner baking cakes and going out at the weekend,
0:25:35 > 0:25:37to now we've got 40 ambassadors across the country
0:25:37 > 0:25:39going out and selling our cakes.
0:25:39 > 0:25:42And Lord Sugar set me the task to get 200 by the end of next year,
0:25:42 > 0:25:45so it's been, it's just been an incredible year.
0:25:45 > 0:25:47It's been a long process, Sarah. 12 weeks.
0:25:47 > 0:25:49What's been the highlight for you? Apart from winning.
0:25:49 > 0:25:52Yeah, it has to be, obviously, winning,
0:25:52 > 0:25:56but I think in terms of a task, Wembley. I love football.
0:25:56 > 0:25:59I loved walking out into the Royal Box and doing that task and it
0:25:59 > 0:26:01was just really fun and to win on a fun task,
0:26:01 > 0:26:03that was just... Yeah, I loved it.
0:26:03 > 0:26:05I loved every minute.
0:26:05 > 0:26:07- OK. Huge congratulations... - Thank you so much.
0:26:07 > 0:26:09..once again, from all of us. Let's have a look at your highlights.
0:26:09 > 0:26:12Welcome and thank you so much.
0:26:12 > 0:26:15Big smiles. Let's do this.
0:26:15 > 0:26:19- Do I look catwalk?- Go on, Sarah. Sarah is the best.
0:26:19 > 0:26:22She's professional, she's straightforward, she's lovely.
0:26:22 > 0:26:25She is just an all-round perfect lady.
0:26:25 > 0:26:27We sold them all!
0:26:27 > 0:26:29Fantastic. Thank you so much.
0:26:29 > 0:26:31Just zip it or be constructive.
0:26:33 > 0:26:36She's really young at heart and really cool
0:26:36 > 0:26:37but the main thing I would say
0:26:37 > 0:26:39about Sarah is she is really caring.
0:26:40 > 0:26:42Let's keep talking and let's win this.
0:26:42 > 0:26:44I'm back!
0:26:45 > 0:26:47Sarah is unbelievable.
0:26:47 > 0:26:51She is driven, focused and absolutely hilarious.
0:26:51 > 0:26:53The nicest woman I've met in years.
0:26:54 > 0:26:55Sugar is going sweet.
0:27:01 > 0:27:05Well, Sarah, not only do you get Lord Sugar's £250,000 investment,
0:27:05 > 0:27:08but - and a lot of people see this as the main prize, really -
0:27:08 > 0:27:11cos we've got a little gift for you. No offence, the money is good,
0:27:11 > 0:27:14but you may consider this your main prize.
0:27:14 > 0:27:17So, this is to inspire... AUDIENCE GASPS
0:27:17 > 0:27:19..your forthcoming... Wow, I've never brought
0:27:19 > 0:27:22anything up from this table that's got a wow before.
0:27:22 > 0:27:27This is a You're Fired box of sweets, as you can tell.
0:27:27 > 0:27:29They are all individually tailored to you.
0:27:29 > 0:27:34We've got some Elizabeth Gobstoppers. As you can see.
0:27:35 > 0:27:37Karren's Lemon Sours.
0:27:37 > 0:27:41It says, "Suck on these and stand in front of a mirror in amazement
0:27:41 > 0:27:43"as your face magically recreates
0:27:43 > 0:27:46"the disappointed face Karren pulls in the boardroom."
0:27:48 > 0:27:52We've got Claude's Chocolate Mice, "Hard on the outside,
0:27:52 > 0:27:55"but inside as soft and gentle as a little mouse."
0:27:57 > 0:27:58Isn't that right, Claude?
0:27:58 > 0:27:59Yeah.
0:27:59 > 0:28:01I've always found that.
0:28:02 > 0:28:04Lord Sugar, you've got your own range here.
0:28:04 > 0:28:06- What have I got? Load of balls? - Yours... Load of balls.
0:28:08 > 0:28:10Lord Sugar's chocolate footballs.
0:28:10 > 0:28:13Lots of different teams in there.
0:28:13 > 0:28:15But Spurs are always on the top.
0:28:15 > 0:28:16Oh, yes.
0:28:16 > 0:28:18Sarah, I hope you enjoy them,
0:28:18 > 0:28:20I hope it inspires your confectionery ranges in the future.
0:28:20 > 0:28:23I'm going to put them down here.
0:28:27 > 0:28:29Ladies and gentlemen, Lord Sugar's new business partner
0:28:29 > 0:28:33and one of the winners of The Apprentice 2017, Sarah Lynn!
0:28:33 > 0:28:35CHEERING
0:28:39 > 0:28:40It's time for another award.
0:28:40 > 0:28:44The next YFEBA recognises that the boardroom can be a daunting place.
0:28:44 > 0:28:47A gladiatorial arena where egos can be battered
0:28:47 > 0:28:49and dodgy decisions decimated.
0:28:49 > 0:28:52And sometimes, only a conversational knockout will do.
0:28:52 > 0:28:55So this award is for best boardroom shutdown.
0:28:55 > 0:28:57Let's have a look at the contenders.
0:28:59 > 0:29:01And the nominees are...
0:29:01 > 0:29:06Karren, for her no-star review of Bushra's banter.
0:29:06 > 0:29:10So I think they felt that they had to be sort of funny and engaged.
0:29:10 > 0:29:11But it wasn't funny.
0:29:11 > 0:29:13And it certainly wasn't engaging.
0:29:13 > 0:29:17Ross, for trying to fight fire with fire and almost getting fired.
0:29:17 > 0:29:20- Had you run out of time, then?, - Well, this is...
0:29:20 > 0:29:24- Who went to the designer?- I'm trying to actually explain, preferably -
0:29:24 > 0:29:26not to be rude - but uninterrupted would be really helpful
0:29:26 > 0:29:28just so I can get something across...
0:29:28 > 0:29:32Claude, for disappointing Anisa with this dismissive dis.
0:29:32 > 0:29:35That was all down to me and my photography skills, I had to...
0:29:35 > 0:29:36Sarah would have done it.
0:29:36 > 0:29:38There was no great skill.
0:29:38 > 0:29:42And Lord Sugar, for bursting Sajan's boardroom bubble.
0:29:42 > 0:29:44I'm here to be mentored.
0:29:44 > 0:29:46I'm still building my confidence
0:29:46 > 0:29:48and I've still got a long way to go in this process.
0:29:48 > 0:29:51I'll decide whether you've got a long way to go in this process.
0:29:54 > 0:29:55And the winner is...
0:29:55 > 0:29:58Ooh, I wonder who it could be, Lord Sugar?
0:29:58 > 0:30:00Obviously, it's you.
0:30:00 > 0:30:03- Really?- Lord Sugar, ladies and gentlemen. Of course it is.- Oh!
0:30:03 > 0:30:05Who else could I give an award to with you sitting there?
0:30:05 > 0:30:07- Thank you so much.- My pleasure. - Thank you very much.
0:30:07 > 0:30:09- What a surprise.- Yeah.
0:30:09 > 0:30:11I'll decide if I take this award or not.
0:30:11 > 0:30:13LAUGHTER
0:30:13 > 0:30:16- Have you recovered, Sajan?- No, still hurting, but we'll get there.
0:30:16 > 0:30:18LAUGHTER
0:30:18 > 0:30:21Well, I still can't quite believe it, but it's a unique Apprentice
0:30:21 > 0:30:25this year, as Lord Sugar chose not one, but two business partners.
0:30:25 > 0:30:27Before we meet the second winner,
0:30:27 > 0:30:29let's remind ourselves of that historic moment.
0:30:29 > 0:30:31This particular year...
0:30:33 > 0:30:36..I'm going to double my investment
0:30:36 > 0:30:39and I'm going to start a business with both of you.
0:30:41 > 0:30:43- Thank you. - I won't let you down, Lord Sugar.
0:30:43 > 0:30:45It means the world to me.
0:30:45 > 0:30:48Ladies and gentlemen, James White. CHEERING
0:30:52 > 0:30:54James, congratulations.
0:30:54 > 0:30:55Thank you very much.
0:30:55 > 0:30:57An historic Apprentice first. Two winners.
0:30:57 > 0:30:59- How do you feel?- Can't believe it.
0:30:59 > 0:31:01- Can you?- No!
0:31:01 > 0:31:04- No, worked hard. Worked hard.- Yeah.
0:31:04 > 0:31:07Like Sarah, you did seem very confident, very determined,
0:31:07 > 0:31:09very focused. Did you think you were going to win?
0:31:09 > 0:31:11I couldn't call it between me and Sarah,
0:31:11 > 0:31:15so I could see why we both ended up with the investment, but absolutely.
0:31:15 > 0:31:17I went in there to win and come out on top.
0:31:17 > 0:31:20- Well, joint top!- This clearly meant a lot to you, as well.
0:31:20 > 0:31:22- Yeah.- You spoke about your dad and how much it meant to you...
0:31:22 > 0:31:26Yeah. Absolutely.
0:31:26 > 0:31:29You know, I would say he is one of my biggest motivations
0:31:29 > 0:31:32and the reason why I'm so determined as, I would say,
0:31:32 > 0:31:33a young person.
0:31:33 > 0:31:36But, yeah, hopefully he is proud.
0:31:36 > 0:31:37I'm proud, son.
0:31:37 > 0:31:39Can't be any prouder.
0:31:39 > 0:31:41Good man, good man.
0:31:41 > 0:31:43Lord Sugar, you have touched briefly on why...
0:31:43 > 0:31:46what you saw in James, why you wanted him as a business partner,
0:31:46 > 0:31:50but in a bit more detail, what was it about him and his business?
0:31:50 > 0:31:53He knows his business inside out.
0:31:53 > 0:31:55That's what I think we found.
0:31:55 > 0:31:59And of course, I have a business partner in Ricky Martin,
0:31:59 > 0:32:01who's in the recruitment industry.
0:32:01 > 0:32:05But what I have picked up from Ricky has given me
0:32:05 > 0:32:09enough experience to know that he knew what he was talking about.
0:32:09 > 0:32:11If you understand what I mean.
0:32:11 > 0:32:16- Did you know that he didn't know anything about this?- He fooled me.
0:32:16 > 0:32:17And, yeah, he is going
0:32:17 > 0:32:20to specialise in something called cyber-security which is
0:32:20 > 0:32:24an up-and-coming industry now.
0:32:24 > 0:32:27It's very important because we're hearing so much of this hacking
0:32:27 > 0:32:29going on, it is a growing industry.
0:32:29 > 0:32:32If I did have something on my computer that
0:32:32 > 0:32:35I needed to remove, would you be able to help with that at all?
0:32:35 > 0:32:38- I think...- I was on tour and I downloaded something by accident!
0:32:38 > 0:32:39LAUGHTER
0:32:39 > 0:32:41- No, I've never... - Yeah, at a small cost.
0:32:41 > 0:32:43- KARREN:- He keeps checking it's there every day.
0:32:43 > 0:32:46Can you stop the Viagra... Can you stop the Viagra e-mails?
0:32:48 > 0:32:51Claude, you shadowed James throughout the process.
0:32:51 > 0:32:54Well, I found James to be somebody who is very serious, very committed
0:32:54 > 0:32:57and I think in every single task, he demonstrated that he had the
0:32:57 > 0:33:00ability to seize on the task, to do the negotiating, to do the selling.
0:33:00 > 0:33:03And I think he was pretty impressive right from the start.
0:33:03 > 0:33:06- Very serious... Are you very serious?- Do I look really serious?
0:33:06 > 0:33:08No, I am serious when it comes to work. But I've got the other side.
0:33:08 > 0:33:10Seriously hot!
0:33:11 > 0:33:15- All right, Russell!- Were you trying to put forward a certain...?
0:33:15 > 0:33:17Yeah, I came into this process to win it
0:33:17 > 0:33:18and I wanted to take it seriously.
0:33:18 > 0:33:23But, in the house, as Sarah said, behind closed doors we had some fun.
0:33:23 > 0:33:24Not me and Sarah!
0:33:24 > 0:33:26LAUGHTER
0:33:26 > 0:33:29But, no, I've got a light-hearted side as well.
0:33:29 > 0:33:32Yeah. James has been very capable and determined, Karren.
0:33:32 > 0:33:34Is he the perfect candidate?
0:33:34 > 0:33:36Well, there's a couple of things that stand out with James.
0:33:36 > 0:33:40He is young, he's ambitious, he understands the business he's in,
0:33:40 > 0:33:44he has a vision for the future, he's not afraid of hard work.
0:33:44 > 0:33:46You hold yourself very well.
0:33:46 > 0:33:49And I think those are all the things that Alan is looking for.
0:33:49 > 0:33:52- Nice.- I mean, they take every box, tick, tick, tick.
0:33:52 > 0:33:53That's really nice to hear.
0:33:53 > 0:33:57Well, Lord Sugar was obviously keen to recruit a recruiter,
0:33:57 > 0:34:00so let's have a look at how the head honcho went about headhunting
0:34:00 > 0:34:02the head hunter.
0:34:02 > 0:34:06James, IT recruitment is a very crowded market.
0:34:06 > 0:34:09So you need to prove to me that your new business can stand out.
0:34:09 > 0:34:13So that would leave you three to do the digital billboards.
0:34:13 > 0:34:15This is my baby, I need this to work.
0:34:15 > 0:34:17As soon as I say action, you go.
0:34:17 > 0:34:20Action! Hopefully, we can present him as a really credible brand.
0:34:20 > 0:34:21Cut.
0:34:21 > 0:34:24You'll have experts in that pitch who know recruitment.
0:34:24 > 0:34:26- Bet your bottom dollar, they'll probably be an IT person.- 100%.
0:34:26 > 0:34:29And they will say, we are a specialist, we do these functions.
0:34:29 > 0:34:31Meeting Ricky was really helpful.
0:34:31 > 0:34:33I need to focus more on cyber-security.
0:34:33 > 0:34:35That's what he told me, so I'm going to take that away.
0:34:35 > 0:34:39I'm here to unveil my new IT recruitment business.
0:34:39 > 0:34:40First Tier Talent.
0:34:40 > 0:34:42We want to be the best.
0:34:42 > 0:34:43We want to stand out from the rest.
0:34:43 > 0:34:46APPLAUSE
0:34:47 > 0:34:50If he came to me tomorrow, I'd give him some business.
0:34:50 > 0:34:52I don't think that you would find a better candidate to front
0:34:52 > 0:34:55a company in my industry, an industry that you know works,
0:34:55 > 0:34:59that you know is extremely profitable if you get it right.
0:34:59 > 0:35:01James seemed to enjoy the pitch, Lord Sugar.
0:35:01 > 0:35:04He had a bit of fun at the expense of the promotional video with
0:35:04 > 0:35:05Charles, had a good laugh at the end of that.
0:35:05 > 0:35:08He gave a very good account of himself in that pitch.
0:35:08 > 0:35:10Yeah, yeah.
0:35:10 > 0:35:12I can understand why he had a bit of fun with Charles running!
0:35:15 > 0:35:18He won, he won the race, Charles.
0:35:18 > 0:35:21- He did, he did win. - This was the brand.
0:35:22 > 0:35:26This was the brand that you and Joanna knocked up in ooh...24 hours!
0:35:28 > 0:35:30- Tell us, were you panicking a bit? - Yeah...
0:35:30 > 0:35:33It was the final, it was taking you a long time to come up with
0:35:33 > 0:35:35a brand and a strapline.
0:35:35 > 0:35:36Yeah, we had a bit of a brain freeze.
0:35:36 > 0:35:40We got stuck on a few ideas and... Well, Karren was there!
0:35:40 > 0:35:41We couldn't think around them
0:35:41 > 0:35:44and, yeah, this is what we come up with in the end.
0:35:44 > 0:35:48Backed it and, what do you think? Do you like it?
0:35:48 > 0:35:51Well, it's hard to get excited about IT recruitment,
0:35:51 > 0:35:53isn't it, Russell? Do you find?
0:35:53 > 0:35:55I actually do.
0:35:55 > 0:35:57If you think about what major IT stories there have
0:35:57 > 0:36:00been in the news that everyone in this room has read.
0:36:00 > 0:36:01It's people's i-clouds being hacked,
0:36:01 > 0:36:03their personal photos appearing on...
0:36:03 > 0:36:05I mean, this is hot business at the moment.
0:36:05 > 0:36:07It's just on the branding front,
0:36:07 > 0:36:09you could have got more alliteration with "Top Tier Talent".
0:36:09 > 0:36:11That's also the very top,
0:36:11 > 0:36:14rather than the office junior who would be the first tier.
0:36:14 > 0:36:15Yeah, yeah. That's the feedback we had.
0:36:15 > 0:36:17But top tier would be a seamless...
0:36:17 > 0:36:20Obviously you must have slept well, that night,
0:36:20 > 0:36:23because unlike Sarah, she didn't sleep the whole night
0:36:23 > 0:36:25and in the morning, changed the brand name!
0:36:25 > 0:36:28- Yeah.- So you must have a good kip that night.
0:36:28 > 0:36:30Yeah, best one out of the whole series.
0:36:30 > 0:36:34Karren, a lot was made of James has worked for a big company, got a
0:36:34 > 0:36:37lot of clout, you pick up the phone, people answer it very quickly.
0:36:37 > 0:36:39He's gone out on his own now.
0:36:39 > 0:36:42- How different is that? - Well, hugely different.
0:36:42 > 0:36:45When you have the big support, the marketing budget,
0:36:45 > 0:36:46the huge company behind you, that helps.
0:36:46 > 0:36:48But James has something even better now.
0:36:48 > 0:36:50He has Alan.
0:36:50 > 0:36:52And Alan will open those doors, he will push him forward,
0:36:52 > 0:36:54he will help him with the branding.
0:36:54 > 0:36:57All the background stuff that you have to do when you set up a
0:36:57 > 0:37:00small business, you are not only the finance director,
0:37:00 > 0:37:02but you're also the tea lady. You're cleaning the office at night.
0:37:02 > 0:37:04Alan will have all that infrastructure taken
0:37:04 > 0:37:08care of for him so all he has to concentrate on is the sales.
0:37:08 > 0:37:10And he has something unique when he says,
0:37:10 > 0:37:12my business partner is Lord Sugar.
0:37:12 > 0:37:14- People will say, "Yes, I'll see you."- Yes.
0:37:14 > 0:37:16And I think that gives him a huge advantage.
0:37:16 > 0:37:20- Yes.- Much more so than you would ever have on your own.
0:37:20 > 0:37:22You should have said that in the interviews, when everybody was
0:37:22 > 0:37:23saying you haven't got any clout,
0:37:23 > 0:37:26you should have said, "Yeah, but Lord Sugar will have my back.
0:37:26 > 0:37:28"It'll be fine."
0:37:28 > 0:37:32Claude, in the interviews, you picked James up on some...
0:37:32 > 0:37:36I think you described them as wildly optimistic or fanciful
0:37:36 > 0:37:37trading projections.
0:37:37 > 0:37:40Presumably he has a better chance of hitting those targets now?
0:37:40 > 0:37:43Well, I think that everyone who comes into the interviews,
0:37:43 > 0:37:48they do tend to exaggerate their capabilities and try to show
0:37:48 > 0:37:50that year one, they're going to make an enormous amount of profit.
0:37:50 > 0:37:53I think they would be best advised to be a bit more sensible about it
0:37:53 > 0:37:56because in year one of a typical start-up,
0:37:56 > 0:37:59you're not expected to make a profit, so it doesn't really matter.
0:37:59 > 0:38:01You've got to show the way... your path.
0:38:01 > 0:38:04- So I think your numbers were outrageous...- Yeah, yeah.
0:38:04 > 0:38:08..and I'm hoping that you have dialled them down a bit.
0:38:08 > 0:38:11Lord Sugar doesn't want to hear that!
0:38:11 > 0:38:13Dial them up, dial up.
0:38:13 > 0:38:15No, you've got to be realistic about these things.
0:38:15 > 0:38:18You chose a very creative team
0:38:18 > 0:38:22- and the stuff they came up with sort of reflects that.- Yeah.
0:38:22 > 0:38:25Let's have a look at the videos and billboards your team came up with.
0:38:25 > 0:38:27You need really to be selecting things
0:38:27 > 0:38:30- that relate to an IT industry. - Could be like an IT ninja.
0:38:30 > 0:38:32The campaign needs to stand out, we can't be too boring, either.
0:38:32 > 0:38:34- It is not a pantomime. - But we have to stand out.
0:38:34 > 0:38:37What says credible more than a guy in a suit wearing...
0:38:37 > 0:38:39King Charles. King Charles, I bow to you! Yeah.
0:38:39 > 0:38:42- How are we looking? How are we looking?- Nah.
0:38:42 > 0:38:43You could be a lobster.
0:38:43 > 0:38:45Why does he have to be a lobster?
0:38:45 > 0:38:47The more random, you are going to stand out.
0:38:47 > 0:38:49OK, Charles, leave it on, let's get a photograph.
0:38:49 > 0:38:51- OK, fine, fine.- Lovely.
0:38:51 > 0:38:53I think that's enough of you dressed up like that.
0:38:57 > 0:39:00Charles standing as a lobster...
0:39:00 > 0:39:02It's like a drunken photo booth at a wedding!
0:39:02 > 0:39:06Me and Charles shared a room and we had a bond like no other.
0:39:06 > 0:39:08- You clearly got on really well. - Yeah, yeah.
0:39:08 > 0:39:11And I just picked him because I knew he would perform well
0:39:11 > 0:39:13- being a lobster... - LAUGHTER
0:39:13 > 0:39:15But, no, I knew he would have my back.
0:39:15 > 0:39:18I knew he would work hard, same as Elizabeth and Joanna.
0:39:18 > 0:39:19And Anisa has a lot of creativity.
0:39:19 > 0:39:20So I had a really good team.
0:39:20 > 0:39:22Elizabeth, this was the final.
0:39:22 > 0:39:24- Yes. - All about James.
0:39:24 > 0:39:27- Of course. - And you still took over?- Yes!
0:39:27 > 0:39:33Lord Sugar, were you half expecting to see Elizabeth come down the...
0:39:33 > 0:39:34Maybe, yeah.
0:39:35 > 0:39:37With a lead around his neck.
0:39:37 > 0:39:38Maybe.
0:39:40 > 0:39:43Elizabeth would be a good face of the firewall cyber security you develop.
0:39:43 > 0:39:45"Get out of the way!"
0:39:45 > 0:39:47When you try and hack the computer,
0:39:47 > 0:39:49"You are not coming into this device!"
0:39:51 > 0:39:55We have got your family as well, James, in tonight.
0:39:55 > 0:39:57- Where's your family? Dad?- Yes, Dad.
0:39:57 > 0:40:01Who have we got, we've got Dad, we've got brother Richard...
0:40:01 > 0:40:05- Where's Dad? Dad's name is James? - It's James, yes.
0:40:05 > 0:40:07- Yes.- James.
0:40:07 > 0:40:10It's a great name, have to carry it on.
0:40:10 > 0:40:13What's your brother's name, James?
0:40:13 > 0:40:15- It's Stephen James. - Is it?
0:40:15 > 0:40:18I was going to ask where he gets his business acumen from.
0:40:18 > 0:40:19We know where he gets his name from.
0:40:19 > 0:40:22- Does he get his business acumen from you, James?- Absolutely.
0:40:22 > 0:40:24You said, I think, James, at one point you said
0:40:24 > 0:40:27that your father once sold a coat for 50 grand.
0:40:27 > 0:40:28He did, yeah.
0:40:28 > 0:40:30What was Lord Sugar like as a customer?
0:40:32 > 0:40:35I was going to sell it for 5,000, but I saw him coming
0:40:35 > 0:40:36and charged him 50.
0:40:37 > 0:40:40Where is brother, brother Richard James?
0:40:42 > 0:40:46Has he always had the old catalogue model swagger going on?
0:40:46 > 0:40:47Yeah, he has, actually.
0:40:47 > 0:40:51Even as a child, just as he would walk into rooms he would
0:40:51 > 0:40:56come in with that James smile that we see and just that persona
0:40:56 > 0:40:58that James has that has served him so well on the show.
0:40:58 > 0:41:00The only thing I would say about that is
0:41:00 > 0:41:02don't ever try those curtains again.
0:41:02 > 0:41:05I got that from you!
0:41:05 > 0:41:06Well, earlier in the process,
0:41:06 > 0:41:09we witnessed one of the most amusing mix-ups in Apprentice history
0:41:09 > 0:41:12when our plucky candidates found themselves creating
0:41:12 > 0:41:14an advert for a brand-new car.
0:41:14 > 0:41:19James and his team decided to shoot the ad where no man has ever gone
0:41:19 > 0:41:22to film a modern family car ad before.
0:41:28 > 0:41:31Now, I think that it could be good to come to an old village,
0:41:31 > 0:41:33like a Norman village.
0:41:33 > 0:41:36- DRAMATIC MUSIC - We're trying to get the family
0:41:36 > 0:41:38out of the house in the morning. We've got to be in a family home.
0:41:40 > 0:41:44And then have yourself driving out in a brand-new car...
0:41:44 > 0:41:46James, I don't think this is an English village.
0:41:46 > 0:41:47I think this is a...
0:41:49 > 0:41:52..pretend village.
0:41:52 > 0:41:54Oh, my God! Oh, good God!
0:41:56 > 0:41:58It's not an English chocolate box village.
0:41:59 > 0:42:02I think I was thinking of more of a...uh...small village.
0:42:05 > 0:42:07APPLAUSE Happy memories?
0:42:07 > 0:42:11- What was... What was... Why? Why, James? Why?- Do you know what?
0:42:11 > 0:42:12I have no idea what happened.
0:42:12 > 0:42:15I just turned up and I was like, "OK, let's roll with this."
0:42:15 > 0:42:17Karren, you were there, you were following James on that task.
0:42:17 > 0:42:20Do you have any insight into how they ended up there?
0:42:20 > 0:42:21They thought...
0:42:21 > 0:42:24All they saw was the word "village," so they were thinking
0:42:24 > 0:42:28chocolate box houses, lovely little streams, a cute little place.
0:42:28 > 0:42:33But it had in big letters Norman village, and a picture
0:42:33 > 0:42:37of exactly... of the man hanging.
0:42:37 > 0:42:39You must love it, Lord Sugar,
0:42:39 > 0:42:41when things like that happen. You must do.
0:42:41 > 0:42:45What happens is I get a phone call from Karren, going,
0:42:45 > 0:42:47"You are not going to believe this, you are not going to believe,
0:42:47 > 0:42:50"you could not make this up, at the moment,
0:42:50 > 0:42:53"where we are, with a new.. brand-new car
0:42:53 > 0:42:56"from one of the major manufacturers in the world
0:42:56 > 0:42:58"and we're stuck here with a load of geese."
0:42:58 > 0:43:03Did you call Lord Sugar on a tin with an old wire?
0:43:03 > 0:43:05- The car got attacked, actually, by a peacock.- Did it?
0:43:05 > 0:43:09Yeah, it got a dent in it. We had to take it back.
0:43:09 > 0:43:10They weren't impressed.
0:43:10 > 0:43:12It is time for another award.
0:43:12 > 0:43:15Once again, our candidates have been on fine form in the talking
0:43:15 > 0:43:17department, spoiling us with sterling speeches,
0:43:17 > 0:43:20pithy putdowns, and memorable mumbles.
0:43:20 > 0:43:23This next YFEBA is for quote of the series.
0:43:23 > 0:43:26Let's take a look at the front-runners.
0:43:28 > 0:43:29And the nominees are...
0:43:30 > 0:43:34Elizabeth for a classic carnivorous confession.
0:43:34 > 0:43:37I had my hands in that meat, and I mixed it.
0:43:37 > 0:43:41Michaela's pithy review of Bushra's management skills.
0:43:41 > 0:43:43- Well...- She's a bellend.
0:43:43 > 0:43:47Sinead, I mean Siobhan for her takedown of Gemma, I mean Elizabeth.
0:43:47 > 0:43:50We're getting there now, aren't we, Sinead? Do you...
0:43:50 > 0:43:54- It's not Sinead, it's Siobhan, yeah? - I'm sorry, Siobhan.- If you don't remember it, don't say it.
0:43:54 > 0:43:57Or Harrison for managing to look a right Antwerp
0:43:57 > 0:43:59despite being in Bruges.
0:43:59 > 0:44:01If you look around, you can just see,
0:44:01 > 0:44:03there's people everywhere, literally.
0:44:07 > 0:44:09And the winner is...
0:44:09 > 0:44:11Elizabeth!
0:44:11 > 0:44:13For her meaty mix.
0:44:13 > 0:44:15APPLAUSE
0:44:20 > 0:44:22Elizabeth, congratulations.
0:44:22 > 0:44:24- Thank you. - Well done. There is your YFEBA.
0:44:24 > 0:44:27Quote of the series. How do you feel?
0:44:27 > 0:44:29Aw, it's lovely. Thank you.
0:44:29 > 0:44:31I'm not going to lie to you, quote of the series,
0:44:31 > 0:44:34we could almost have picked pretty much anything you said.
0:44:34 > 0:44:35I've got a big mouth, haven't I?
0:44:35 > 0:44:38I've got lots of things come out of it at any given point.
0:44:38 > 0:44:41You've been very entertaining. Elizabeth, ladies and gentlemen.
0:44:41 > 0:44:43CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
0:44:44 > 0:44:46Woo.
0:44:46 > 0:44:49All our lovely candidates are sitting up there.
0:44:49 > 0:44:53This year's candidates. I thought I would do something just for you.
0:44:53 > 0:44:56You haven't, of course, won Lord Sugar's investment
0:44:56 > 0:44:58but that doesn't mean you can't have a nice Christmas.
0:44:58 > 0:45:00If you reach under your seats, folks,
0:45:00 > 0:45:03I have put a little Christmas present under there
0:45:03 > 0:45:05for each of you. Don't unwrap them yet.
0:45:05 > 0:45:07If you just take them out. I'm going to ask Russell to
0:45:07 > 0:45:11head up there amongst you and supervise the unwrapping of the Christmas gifts.
0:45:11 > 0:45:14Russell, would you like to pop up into the audience there?
0:45:14 > 0:45:16It would be my pleasure. It's another Apprentice first.
0:45:16 > 0:45:19Has anyone ever got out of their seat before and invaded the audience?
0:45:19 > 0:45:22- I don't think so.- Another first, ladies and gentlemen.- Another first.
0:45:22 > 0:45:24Ladies and gentlemen, Mr Russell Kane.
0:45:26 > 0:45:29I feel a bit starstruck. Does everyone feel a bit starstruck seeing these guys?
0:45:29 > 0:45:31Sitting next to them. Oh, my God, I can't even face you.
0:45:31 > 0:45:33You can start unwrapping your presents now,
0:45:33 > 0:45:35to see what you've all got.
0:45:35 > 0:45:38Sorry, Harrison. It's just lads, though, innit? It's banter. Wahey!
0:45:38 > 0:45:40LAUGHTER
0:45:40 > 0:45:42Harrison, look at all these people, it's amazing, isn't it?
0:45:42 > 0:45:46So, Andrew, what have you got there?
0:45:46 > 0:45:49So, mine, surprisingly, is a beer, with vodka, gin, and whisky finish.
0:45:49 > 0:45:51That is guaranteed to get you off your nut.
0:45:51 > 0:45:54And this is of course because you were taking people on a beer
0:45:54 > 0:45:57tour in cultural Bruges and was focused on them having a skinful.
0:45:57 > 0:46:00- Yeah.- How much is a skinful, just for viewers at home?
0:46:00 > 0:46:02To about there. So the rest of it
0:46:02 > 0:46:04is just alcohol. And you've just got, you know, just enough.
0:46:04 > 0:46:06And how long was it after you were fired into your taxi
0:46:06 > 0:46:08journey before you were off your nut in the taxi?
0:46:08 > 0:46:10Euston station.
0:46:10 > 0:46:12That's the type of stable investment you were
0:46:12 > 0:46:13looking for, Lord Sugar.
0:46:14 > 0:46:16There you go.
0:46:16 > 0:46:18So, Harrison, while you're there, what have you been gifted?
0:46:18 > 0:46:20- Let's have a little look. - A tiny little box
0:46:20 > 0:46:23with a tiny little thimble of yoghurt.
0:46:23 > 0:46:26It's a thimble of yoghurt.
0:46:26 > 0:46:30Now, I have actually been inspired since watching that
0:46:30 > 0:46:32and I've experimented with a few others.
0:46:32 > 0:46:35I had a pinhead of sour cream with my nachos the other day.
0:46:35 > 0:46:38That will do, at least, what, a family full.
0:46:38 > 0:46:41- So, I'm happy, yeah. - I'd keep it away from Andrew,
0:46:41 > 0:46:43he'll probably neck it, thinking it's a sambuca.
0:46:43 > 0:46:46Harrison, ladies and gentlemen. Absolute legend.
0:46:48 > 0:46:49Ah, there you are, Siobhan.
0:46:49 > 0:46:53- Sinead.- Sinead? Yes, stand up, please, Sinead.
0:46:54 > 0:46:58So, of course, you famously over-ordered the wine in Wembley,
0:46:58 > 0:47:01collapsing the whole economics of your task.
0:47:01 > 0:47:03So, if you would like to talk us through your gift.
0:47:03 > 0:47:06I think we've got one of the bottles that was left.
0:47:06 > 0:47:08Siobhanignon blanc.
0:47:08 > 0:47:10We've got a Siobhanignon blanc.
0:47:10 > 0:47:13Now, how do you feel about the amount of wine you ordered on that task?
0:47:13 > 0:47:16There won't be a dry night, that's what I'm about.
0:47:16 > 0:47:19We had a sample of your wine, and after half the supply,
0:47:19 > 0:47:23Harrison did actually sound like Frank Sinatra, it was amazing.
0:47:23 > 0:47:25Thank you, Siobhan, ladies and gentlemen.
0:47:25 > 0:47:28Anisa, up you get.
0:47:28 > 0:47:31So, if you'd like to talk us through your gift.
0:47:31 > 0:47:35My special gift is a Bruges factfinder with some pens,
0:47:35 > 0:47:37which I'm thinking is how Charles could work out
0:47:37 > 0:47:40where we're going to go and actually not get us lost this time.
0:47:40 > 0:47:42And I can remember the facts. It would be great.
0:47:42 > 0:47:43So, you are not a fan of facts, are you?
0:47:43 > 0:47:46No. I've said it about a million times,
0:47:46 > 0:47:47I don't like the facts.
0:47:47 > 0:47:491089 mean anything?
0:47:49 > 0:47:52- No.- The year it became capital of Flanders. Sit down, Anisa.
0:47:52 > 0:47:54Now, who am I looking for?
0:47:54 > 0:47:56I'm looking for Danny. Is Danny anywhere?
0:47:56 > 0:48:00- Oh, sorry, mate. Stand up. Danny, how are you?- I'm all right.
0:48:00 > 0:48:04- You all right?- I thought you were the nuts, I thought you went out early.- I agree with that.
0:48:04 > 0:48:07We're not going to do any jokes about how you went out early,
0:48:07 > 0:48:10that would be cruel, so just talk us through which gift you got.
0:48:10 > 0:48:13I've got a DVD box set of episode 2 to 13.
0:48:13 > 0:48:15LAUGHTER
0:48:15 > 0:48:18Merry Christmas, Danny. Bye.
0:48:18 > 0:48:20Joanna, if I could just...
0:48:20 > 0:48:23- I can't quite see you, sorry, mate. - LAUGHTER
0:48:23 > 0:48:24Aargh, my corneas!
0:48:24 > 0:48:27Hello, Joanna, how are you?
0:48:27 > 0:48:30- Good. Good, thank you. - It's good to see you.
0:48:30 > 0:48:32So, if you'd like to talk us through your gift.
0:48:32 > 0:48:34Let's have a quick look at it. What's that?
0:48:34 > 0:48:36It's a paper trophy.
0:48:36 > 0:48:38Do you know why we have given Joanna a paper trophy?
0:48:38 > 0:48:41It's because on paper, you were the strongest candidate.
0:48:41 > 0:48:43Eight out of ten wins, ladies and gentlemen.
0:48:43 > 0:48:46- Thank you. - APPLAUSE AND CHEERING
0:48:46 > 0:48:51It would've been nice to maybe have a voucher for a £250,000 investment.
0:48:51 > 0:48:53That would have been a nice paper trophy.
0:48:53 > 0:48:56But, yeah, amazing that they've both won. So, yeah.
0:48:56 > 0:48:58You'll always be a winner to me, Joanna.
0:48:58 > 0:49:00- Ah, thank you. - Joanna, ladies and gentlemen.
0:49:00 > 0:49:04Russell Kane, ladies and gentlemen. Give him a round of applause as he comes back to his seat.
0:49:07 > 0:49:08Well, it is the final,
0:49:08 > 0:49:10and everyone except me gets a highlights reel
0:49:10 > 0:49:12so Lord Sugar, relax, sit back,
0:49:12 > 0:49:17and enjoy our highlights of you in the Apprentice 2017.
0:49:17 > 0:49:18Bring it!
0:49:21 > 0:49:23You should've gone ker-ching! at that point.
0:49:25 > 0:49:29When I came into this boardroom, I half expected you to be sitting in this chair.
0:49:30 > 0:49:33They've kicked your arse, haven't they? That's for sure.
0:49:35 > 0:49:36You look like you're constipated.
0:49:39 > 0:49:41- Did you use that to help you out? - Yes, I did.
0:49:43 > 0:49:47Don't give up your dream. You still have the passion for it. Go for it.
0:49:49 > 0:49:52Like a delivery from Ann Summers, actually. Very discreet.
0:49:52 > 0:49:53- How'd you know that? - Well...
0:49:53 > 0:49:55I've been told, mate.
0:49:55 > 0:50:00APPLAUSE
0:50:00 > 0:50:03So, that was this year, Lord Sugar. Next year...
0:50:03 > 0:50:05Next year, what are you looking for?
0:50:05 > 0:50:10People often say, well, you know, how do you carry on doing it?
0:50:10 > 0:50:11Well, because first of all,
0:50:11 > 0:50:14I've got this passion for going into business with people.
0:50:14 > 0:50:19I'm really enjoying this mentoring and making them successful.
0:50:19 > 0:50:23It's kind of like an achievement for me, let alone the individual.
0:50:23 > 0:50:27But we get a different bunch of characters every year. You know.
0:50:27 > 0:50:30And it's the characters that make the programme.
0:50:30 > 0:50:32What happens now for you and James?
0:50:32 > 0:50:37Well, um, he's now got to put his words into practice, obviously.
0:50:37 > 0:50:39Our contract between each other, our shareholders'
0:50:39 > 0:50:42agreement between each other will be done very quickly,
0:50:42 > 0:50:45I'll be injecting the money into the company immediately.
0:50:45 > 0:50:51And it's up to him now to go out and start bringing in the revenue.
0:50:51 > 0:50:55- You got to put his money where your mouth is.- Yeah.
0:50:55 > 0:50:57Let's hear from some previous Apprentice winners,
0:50:57 > 0:51:00James, just to get a few tips from some previous winners up there for you.
0:51:00 > 0:51:03We've got Ricky Martin, 2012.
0:51:03 > 0:51:07Ricky, next to you Mark Wright, 2014 of course.
0:51:07 > 0:51:11Ricky, you met up with James ahead of that final pitch,
0:51:11 > 0:51:15you switched him on very much onto the cyber security.
0:51:15 > 0:51:19Do you feel a responsibility to try and help him win?
0:51:19 > 0:51:21Absolutely, you've got to think, he's a recruiter,
0:51:21 > 0:51:24I'm a recruiter, what I do with the business is I get people jobs
0:51:24 > 0:51:26and help them achieve their goals.
0:51:26 > 0:51:29If I can't do that for James, my business isn't doing very well.
0:51:29 > 0:51:32So, essentially, the pressure is on, but never let anyone down.
0:51:32 > 0:51:34He's going to be your competition though.
0:51:34 > 0:51:38- Good luck, though. - JAMES:- Friendly competition already.
0:51:38 > 0:51:42- Mark, you won in 2014, of course.- Yep.
0:51:42 > 0:51:46You and Lord Sugar run a digital marketing agency.
0:51:46 > 0:51:50What will the next few months be like immediately for James now?
0:51:50 > 0:51:55The number one question I get asked is, is the £250,000 real?
0:51:55 > 0:51:57And how often do you see Lord Sugar?
0:51:57 > 0:51:59They are the two questions I always get asked.
0:51:59 > 0:52:02And the answers are, the first week, Lord Sugar opens a bank account
0:52:02 > 0:52:05and puts £250,000 into the account,
0:52:05 > 0:52:08and straightaway he's on the phone, he's on the e-mail,
0:52:08 > 0:52:11and it's really a baptism by fire, to be honest with you.
0:52:11 > 0:52:13He will make you successful
0:52:13 > 0:52:17and as long as you are prepared to work hard and listen to the mentors
0:52:17 > 0:52:21and advisers Lord Sugar has put in place, you will be successful.
0:52:21 > 0:52:23Is it scary as well as exciting?
0:52:23 > 0:52:26It's bloody frightening, to be honest.
0:52:26 > 0:52:28Yeah. I'm still scared. So, cheers, James.
0:52:28 > 0:52:31Well, time for our final award.
0:52:31 > 0:52:34Against the clock our candidates have had to think on their feet,
0:52:34 > 0:52:36producing some fine, creative excuses.
0:52:36 > 0:52:39So, let's see who our best blaggers are.
0:52:41 > 0:52:44And the nominees are...
0:52:44 > 0:52:47Elliot for his desperate attempt to explain why their robot has
0:52:47 > 0:52:49mysteriously changed his name.
0:52:49 > 0:52:52We say his name is Jeffrey, OK?
0:52:52 > 0:52:55But his family name is Simon.
0:52:55 > 0:52:58Jade for her fumbling, faltering fudge of a fashion show.
0:52:58 > 0:53:01The last Dawn on...
0:53:01 > 0:53:04The last Dawn on Mars collection, you're not going to be able to get
0:53:04 > 0:53:08this anywhere else and have that really quality
0:53:08 > 0:53:10based ingredient.
0:53:10 > 0:53:13Bushra for bigging up her eyesight to blag

0:53:17 > 0:53:20but I'm pretty good with the eye.
0:53:20 > 0:53:23And Charles for his stoic refusal to admit he's lost.
0:53:23 > 0:53:25Charles, where are we going?
0:53:25 > 0:53:27So, we are just on the other side of the lake that I want us
0:53:27 > 0:53:29to be on, but it is absolutely fine, we are
0:53:29 > 0:53:31still parallel to where I want to be.
0:53:33 > 0:53:35And the winner is... Bushra.

0:53:44 > 0:53:47Congratulations, Bushra. Congratulations.
0:53:47 > 0:53:49A terrible pitch there for the photography contract.
