0:00:35 > 0:00:38But as James brought his team's cooking demonstration to a close,

0:00:38 > 0:00:43disaster almost struck when a fly got in behind Elizabeth's glasses.

0:00:43 > 0:00:46A nice, presentable meal that comes together at the end.

0:01:04 > 0:01:06CHEERING

0:01:10 > 0:01:13How do we think it went this week, Claudine?

0:01:13 > 0:01:17I loved the James and Elizabeth show - or rather the Elizabeth show.

0:01:17 > 0:01:20I wanted to cry at the Jade and Joanna show -

0:01:20 > 0:01:23but, actually, I thought that Graphene had it

0:01:23 > 0:01:25- up until the point of the pitch. - Andi?

0:01:25 > 0:01:28It was... I mean, it was like they'd never seen food before,

0:01:28 > 0:01:29which was extraordinary.

0:01:29 > 0:01:31Is that what food's meant to look like?

0:01:31 > 0:01:33- So fascinating and alarming.- Ed?

0:01:33 > 0:01:36I really enjoyed this week's episode,

0:01:36 > 0:01:38but unfortunately I can't stick around long,

0:01:38 > 0:01:40because Donald Trump's called me over.

0:01:42 > 0:01:44- Guys?- You see?

0:01:44 > 0:01:47Isn't it funny? In the hands of a comedian, it gets a laugh.

0:01:48 > 0:01:51We'll be discussing this week's cooking task in more detail

0:01:51 > 0:01:54when we meet tonight's unlucky candidate, but first...

0:01:54 > 0:01:56GONG!

0:01:56 > 0:01:58In Apprentice News tonight,

0:01:58 > 0:02:01Michaela wonders what Claude's bathroom looks like.

0:02:01 > 0:02:02It could just be shocking.

0:02:05 > 0:02:08James rewrites the lyrics to 12 Days Of Christmas.

0:02:08 > 0:02:10Two salmon fillets.

0:02:12 > 0:02:14Partridge in a pear tree. I know.

0:02:14 > 0:02:18Karren pitches her idea for a new beauty trend.

0:02:18 > 0:02:19Toe curling.

0:02:22 > 0:02:27Joanna puts everyone's mind at rest as to how they soak the rice.

0:02:27 > 0:02:31This first dish that we've got doesn't necessarily have PEE in it.

0:02:34 > 0:02:37The girls are easily amused by some seat belts.

0:02:37 > 0:02:38Look.

0:02:42 > 0:02:43That's tonight's Apprentice News.

0:02:48 > 0:02:50So, after dressing up as cracked pepper,

0:02:50 > 0:02:52cracking eggs and cracking some cracking one-liners,

0:02:52 > 0:02:56Lord Sugar decided the cracks were appearing in Bushra's performance.

0:02:56 > 0:03:00Bushra, I don't think you've done much in this last nine weeks,

0:03:00 > 0:03:03and it is with regret that you are fired.

0:03:04 > 0:03:06Thank you, Lord Sugar, for this opportunity.

0:03:15 > 0:03:16Please welcome Bushra Shaikh.

0:03:16 > 0:03:19CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:03:27 > 0:03:29Hello. Hi.

0:03:30 > 0:03:32Your family is up there somewhere, I think.

0:03:32 > 0:03:33Where's family? Where are they?

0:03:33 > 0:03:34There they are. CHEERING

0:03:34 > 0:03:37I expect to see greens from you later on in the show.

0:03:37 > 0:03:41- Bushra.- Hello.- Hello.- Hi.

0:03:41 > 0:03:44Frazzled, fricasseed, boiled?

0:03:44 > 0:03:47- I'm gutted. I'm so gutted. - Are you?

0:03:47 > 0:03:48- Yeah. - AUDIENCE:- Aw!

0:03:48 > 0:03:49I shouldn't be here.

0:03:49 > 0:03:51SCATTERED LAUGHTER

0:03:51 > 0:03:52Bit more.

0:03:52 > 0:03:55LAUGHTER

0:03:55 > 0:03:57Did you think you fought hard enough in the boardroom?

0:03:57 > 0:03:58Do you know what? I did.

0:03:58 > 0:04:01I thought that I'd given it enough, I'd said enough.

0:04:01 > 0:04:03I think Elizabeth had done enough to have gone.

0:04:05 > 0:04:07Did you think she was going to go?

0:04:07 > 0:04:10I did. I think there was a stage when he was talking to her

0:04:10 > 0:04:12a lot more, that I felt like she was going to go.

0:04:12 > 0:04:14Would you have liked to share a taxi home with Elizabeth?

0:04:14 > 0:04:16Do you know what? I get on with everyone.

0:04:16 > 0:04:18I would be happy to share that taxi,

0:04:18 > 0:04:20but she would probably want to drive it.

0:04:20 > 0:04:21LAUGHTER

0:04:26 > 0:04:27"Shall I drive, driver? Shall I?

0:04:27 > 0:04:29"Shall I drive, driver? Shall I just drive, driver?"

0:04:33 > 0:04:35- Claudine, you know Lord Sugar.- Yeah.

0:04:35 > 0:04:38Why do you think Bushra went this week?

0:04:38 > 0:04:40I think... I'm also gutted, Bushra.

0:04:40 > 0:04:43I have to say that I kind of picked you from the beginning

0:04:43 > 0:04:46as a strong woman, I could see you going far in the process.

0:04:46 > 0:04:48You have gone far. But I think...

0:04:48 > 0:04:49I don't know whether as time went on

0:04:49 > 0:04:52you got a bit worn down by the process,

0:04:52 > 0:04:54cos I saw less and less of you

0:04:54 > 0:04:57rather than more and more leadership qualities of you.

0:04:57 > 0:05:01I think that when it comes down to this final few people,

0:05:01 > 0:05:04he has to look at the people that he thinks are real leaders

0:05:04 > 0:05:06that he can work with.

0:05:06 > 0:05:08Out of the people left and the people in the boardroom,

0:05:08 > 0:05:11I'm afraid he probably thought you had least contribution

0:05:11 > 0:05:12than anyone else.

0:05:12 > 0:05:14You know what? Thank you, Claudine.

0:05:14 > 0:05:16That actually means a lot, because I think towards the end

0:05:16 > 0:05:19maybe I was a little bit drained by particular characters.

0:05:19 > 0:05:23That sort of showed itself on the task.

0:05:23 > 0:05:24You can just say Elizabeth.

0:05:27 > 0:05:29Andi, do you think the other two just fought harder?

0:05:29 > 0:05:31Do you see that, as well,

0:05:31 > 0:05:33that Bushra was perhaps slipping back a little bit?

0:05:33 > 0:05:38I, I mean, they obviously all really fought for survival at this point.

0:05:38 > 0:05:40I'm sorry that you went, cos I thought you were great, actually.

0:05:40 > 0:05:44I thought you were really methodical and you were really careful about...

0:05:44 > 0:05:46You had really good attention to detail.

0:05:46 > 0:05:47I think that's important, no?

0:05:47 > 0:05:50Well, you can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs.

0:05:50 > 0:05:52If Team Graphene are anything to go by,

0:05:52 > 0:05:55you can't make a salmon risotto and talk at the same time.

0:05:55 > 0:05:57Let's see where it all went wrong.

0:05:57 > 0:05:59Well, Bushra, in my opinion, she has been standing back.

0:05:59 > 0:06:01I don't think there's any point that I can say

0:06:01 > 0:06:03that she's made a significant contribution.

0:06:03 > 0:06:05What I thought might be quite interesting is to do,

0:06:05 > 0:06:08like, footprints to represent the travel.

0:06:08 > 0:06:10I just think something about that,

0:06:10 > 0:06:11to me, says dog food.

0:06:11 > 0:06:14I do feel that I could probably do the job

0:06:14 > 0:06:15just with Pete, the designer.

0:06:15 > 0:06:17That picture isn't completely gourmet,

0:06:17 > 0:06:18I'm going to be honest.

0:06:18 > 0:06:20What would you have done with it?

0:06:20 > 0:06:21Bushra just says stuff

0:06:21 > 0:06:23for the sake of saying something.

0:06:23 > 0:06:25Just so she can sit on the fence with everything.

0:06:25 > 0:06:26"Oh, I said that."

0:06:26 > 0:06:27You put on this pantomime

0:06:27 > 0:06:29with these lead balloon jokes.

0:06:29 > 0:06:31We would have loved to have had

0:06:31 > 0:06:33Captain Gourmet himself here today,

0:06:33 > 0:06:35but unfortunately Donald Trump

0:06:35 > 0:06:36called him over.

0:06:38 > 0:06:41This was not professional. Forget all the jokes.

0:06:43 > 0:06:46I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry, but you know what?

0:06:46 > 0:06:47Not to me, to the audience.

0:06:47 > 0:06:49LAUGHTER

0:06:49 > 0:06:53Do you know what? It was a little bit funny. It wasn't that bad. No?!

0:06:53 > 0:06:57- I don't understand it.- I don't understand it, what does it mean?

0:06:59 > 0:07:02Well, let me just try and redeem myself a bit here.

0:07:02 > 0:07:04Look, the name itself was pretty bad,

0:07:04 > 0:07:07so the fact that you were going to call it Gourmet Crusaders

0:07:07 > 0:07:09had me a bit worried, so I thought, "You know what?

0:07:09 > 0:07:11"Let's bring Donald Trump in, cos everyone talks about him

0:07:11 > 0:07:14"and the majority of people don't like him."

0:07:14 > 0:07:17So what I tried to do was have a bit of banter

0:07:17 > 0:07:20in the pitch, just say, "Well, actually, Gourmet Crusaders

0:07:20 > 0:07:23"is there to kind of cook, you can make a nice meal.

0:07:23 > 0:07:25"You're actually not going to have a crusader,

0:07:25 > 0:07:27"which is what he really wants, to kind of do his thing with."

0:07:27 > 0:07:28Can I be rude, Bushra?

0:07:32 > 0:07:34That hasn't helped at all. LAUGHTER

0:07:38 > 0:07:40- I'll give you that one. - Not at all.

0:07:40 > 0:07:42I'll give you that one.

0:07:42 > 0:07:45- ED:- Where did Captain Gourmet come from?

0:07:45 > 0:07:47He'd not been mentioned for the whole of the task,

0:07:47 > 0:07:49and then suddenly Captain Gourmet popped...

0:07:49 > 0:07:52Is he like Captain Birdseye's snooty cousin?

0:07:54 > 0:07:56You've got to go out of your comfort zone sometimes,

0:07:56 > 0:07:58try something different.

0:07:58 > 0:08:00I tried, it just didn't pay off that well.

0:08:00 > 0:08:02But you were already dressed as a pepper pot.

0:08:04 > 0:08:06How far outside of your comfort zone do you need to go?

0:08:06 > 0:08:10- Oh, sorry.- Was that the main reason they lost the task, the pitch,

0:08:10 > 0:08:11do you think, Claudine?

0:08:11 > 0:08:15100%, it was down to the pitch. I mean, the pitch was so awful.

0:08:15 > 0:08:18When you go in... I mean, we pitch for business all the time.

0:08:18 > 0:08:23You have to be likeable as well. People have to connect with you.

0:08:23 > 0:08:26It just was so bad.

0:08:26 > 0:08:29I mean, you were never going to win it on a pitch like that.

0:08:29 > 0:08:32That's ultimately what they were voting on.

0:08:32 > 0:08:35Andi, what makes a good pitch?

0:08:35 > 0:08:36Well, I think authenticity.

0:08:36 > 0:08:38You have to believe in what you're talking about,

0:08:38 > 0:08:41the product has to mean something to you.

0:08:41 > 0:08:43Also, if you're going to be on stage with a whole bunch of people,

0:08:43 > 0:08:45you've got to feel like a team,

0:08:45 > 0:08:48instead of these little disparate sort of groups of one person,

0:08:48 > 0:08:52sort of just doing this terrible, terrible communication.

0:08:52 > 0:08:53It was awful, actually.

0:08:53 > 0:08:55Did they try too hard?

0:08:55 > 0:08:58They tried to do stuff, and throw to each other, and over to you...

0:08:58 > 0:08:59They tried a bit too hard

0:08:59 > 0:09:02and they also didn't really believe in anything that they were saying.

0:09:02 > 0:09:03Actually, the food...

0:09:03 > 0:09:06Your food was better than the food from the other team.

0:09:06 > 0:09:07Way better.

0:09:07 > 0:09:11Well, it was before you cooked it.

0:09:11 > 0:09:12The first time you cooked it, I thought,

0:09:12 > 0:09:15"Oh, that looks quite tasty. It looks quite good."

0:09:15 > 0:09:19Team Graphene's pitch may have been a curly toed culinary cringefest,

0:09:19 > 0:09:21but at least Karren liked it.

0:09:21 > 0:09:22Or did she?

0:09:31 > 0:09:34Bushra and James dressed in giant salt and pepper pots,

0:09:34 > 0:09:38so I think they felt that they had to be sort of funny and engage in...

0:09:38 > 0:09:40But it wasn't funny and it certainly wasn't engaging.

0:09:47 > 0:09:49Let's move on. Let's talk about the recipe.

0:09:49 > 0:09:50Sarah was your project manager.

0:09:50 > 0:09:53She put James and Elizabeth together in the kitchen.

0:09:53 > 0:09:55Would you have made that decision?

0:09:55 > 0:09:57No. I think what I would have done is probably split them up,

0:09:57 > 0:10:01but in fairness, actually, I don't think they were that bad.

0:10:01 > 0:10:03I think James tried to hold his own this time,

0:10:03 > 0:10:06because he learnt, I think, from the way she acts.

0:10:06 > 0:10:09Yeah. He didn't look happy when he was put with...

0:10:09 > 0:10:11No, he didn't look happy at all. No.

0:10:11 > 0:10:13He did not look happy. The thing is, I do feel for him, as well.

0:10:13 > 0:10:16I did feel at that point, maybe if he didn't want to do it with her,

0:10:16 > 0:10:17then he should have said something.

0:10:17 > 0:10:20Elizabeth certainly looks like she can chop celery.

0:10:20 > 0:10:22She can, can't she?

0:10:22 > 0:10:27Is Lord Sugar looking for a broader base of skills than that?

0:10:27 > 0:10:30I think chopping celery is quite high up on his agenda.

0:10:30 > 0:10:33But, no, of course he's looking for something a bit more than that.

0:10:33 > 0:10:36I think what he sees in Elizabeth

0:10:36 > 0:10:39is she has such a huge amount of passion

0:10:39 > 0:10:44and she'll turn her hand to anything and she's positive.

0:10:44 > 0:10:47I think, you know, he values that in people.

0:10:47 > 0:10:51James has got this thing that I now like to call the Elizabeth Vein.

0:10:51 > 0:10:54Like, every time he thinks about Elizabeth or someone says,

0:10:54 > 0:10:56"Would you mind going with Elizabeth?",

0:10:56 > 0:10:58this vein pops out in the middle of his head.

0:10:58 > 0:11:01She brow beats her way through everything.

0:11:01 > 0:11:04People just bend to her will. She just eventually gets her way.

0:11:04 > 0:11:08It's sort of a mixture between a Jedi mind trick and Reggie Kray.

0:11:09 > 0:11:13I think if Lord Sugar makes her his business partner,

0:11:13 > 0:11:15next year she'll be hosting The Apprentice.

0:11:22 > 0:11:24Well, Lord Sugar has called this the Elizabeth show,

0:11:24 > 0:11:26and it does seem that when it comes to...

0:11:26 > 0:11:28Well, when it comes to absolutely everything,

0:11:28 > 0:11:30Elizabeth does like to have a hand in it,

0:11:30 > 0:11:32a finger in every pie and every risotto.

0:11:39 > 0:11:41On this week's show, Elizabeth dazzles us

0:11:41 > 0:11:43with her top secret recipe for burnt salmon.

0:11:43 > 0:11:46Yeah, it's not quite there yet.

0:11:46 > 0:11:49She wows us with her use of the most simple kitchen gadgets.

0:11:49 > 0:11:51I'm just going to get my cooker to work.

0:11:51 > 0:11:53And she teaches us her techniques

0:11:53 > 0:11:55for running a relaxed and calm kitchen.

0:11:55 > 0:11:56Put it down. Put it down.

0:11:56 > 0:11:59- Do you want me to chop an onion? - No, I'll chop the onion, it's fine.

0:11:59 > 0:12:01Do you want me to chop it? Why don't I chop the celery?

0:12:01 > 0:12:03Yeah?

0:12:03 > 0:12:04Yeah?

0:12:12 > 0:12:14Andi, food boxes are for a certain type of cook, I guess.

0:12:14 > 0:12:17I mean, "mugs" is the word Lord Sugar used.

0:12:17 > 0:12:21I guess it's for people who aren't great cooks.

0:12:21 > 0:12:25It's really... I would say it's for people who want to learn to cook,

0:12:25 > 0:12:26who want to get better.

0:12:26 > 0:12:29People who are trying to be a little more adventurous in the kitchen.

0:12:29 > 0:12:31They're not people who are just going to have a takeaway,

0:12:31 > 0:12:34because they actually want to feel like they've made something

0:12:34 > 0:12:36for themselves, and they're a bit independent

0:12:36 > 0:12:39- and they can do something well. - But they need a bit of hand holding.

0:12:39 > 0:12:41They need a little bit of a mate next to them, just to say,

0:12:41 > 0:12:43"Yeah, that's right, you're doing it right.

0:12:43 > 0:12:45"Now move on to the next bit, on to the next bit."

0:12:45 > 0:12:47How important is getting the recipe right, then?

0:12:47 > 0:12:49Well, enormously. It's essential.

0:12:49 > 0:12:52If you've given them the wrong recipe,

0:12:52 > 0:12:54they're going to lose their confidence straightaway.

0:12:54 > 0:12:56They're also not going to buy your brand again,

0:12:56 > 0:12:57no matter what recipe you put into it.

0:12:57 > 0:12:59Well, they went for a risotto.

0:12:59 > 0:13:01I've never made a risotto, cos it looks like a faff to me -

0:13:01 > 0:13:03and I quite like cooking, but is that...?

0:13:03 > 0:13:06I actually thought risotto was quite a good choice, in fact.

0:13:06 > 0:13:07When you made it...

0:13:07 > 0:13:09When they made it the first time, it looked quite...

0:13:09 > 0:13:12It came out OK. It wasn't... It was fairly decent-looking.

0:13:12 > 0:13:15It looked a bit creamy, the fish looked all right on the top,

0:13:15 > 0:13:17it looked like something that was absolutely presentable.

0:13:17 > 0:13:19The good thing about something like risotto

0:13:19 > 0:13:21is that you can use three ingredients and make something

0:13:21 > 0:13:24really delicious and feel like you've really achieved something.

0:13:24 > 0:13:27- So it was a good choice for that kind of audience?- Yeah, for sure.

0:13:27 > 0:13:30Claudine, in terms of the marketing, the concepts that they came up with,

0:13:30 > 0:13:33the gourmet, the healthy eating, did either of those

0:13:33 > 0:13:35feel like they would grab you on the supermarket shelves?

0:13:35 > 0:13:39Both of those concepts actually have both got legs.

0:13:39 > 0:13:41I mean, they're both good concepts.

0:13:41 > 0:13:43How they were translated was a different matter.

0:13:43 > 0:13:46So, Natrofuel.

0:13:46 > 0:13:49I mean, it was a cardboard box.

0:13:49 > 0:13:51I mean, that's all it was.

0:13:53 > 0:13:54Exactly.

0:13:56 > 0:13:58I mean, it looks to me like...

0:13:58 > 0:14:00You know when you order something dodgy off the internet,

0:14:00 > 0:14:04I imagine, Ed, is that what it looks like?

0:14:04 > 0:14:07I have to say, if I ordered something dodgy off the internet

0:14:07 > 0:14:10and then opened it up and it was the components for a chicken curry...

0:14:10 > 0:14:13I'd be very disappointed.

0:14:13 > 0:14:15We can see the other team's here.

0:14:15 > 0:14:18This is Gourmet Crusaders. There's a lot more going on

0:14:18 > 0:14:22- on the packaging, at least.- Yeah.

0:14:22 > 0:14:24I'll come on to the name a bit more in a moment -

0:14:24 > 0:14:28but were you happy with the gourmet idea?

0:14:28 > 0:14:30Yeah, I think it's a really cool idea,

0:14:30 > 0:14:33because gourmet you can even make into healthy eating,

0:14:33 > 0:14:34as well, if you wanted to, as well.

0:14:34 > 0:14:37It just encourages people to cook with ingredients

0:14:37 > 0:14:39they maybe don't use at home or have at home.

0:14:39 > 0:14:42They will end up expanding what they eat, as well.

0:14:42 > 0:14:43I think it's a good...

0:14:43 > 0:14:46There was some debate about healthy eating and what it meant, Andi.

0:14:46 > 0:14:48It means different things to different people.

0:14:48 > 0:14:49Can a chicken curry be healthy?

0:14:49 > 0:14:52To me, I would think, "Yes, of course it can,

0:14:52 > 0:14:54"if it doesn't use anything particularly unhealthy in it."

0:14:54 > 0:14:56But there's not a vegetable in it.

0:14:56 > 0:14:58What did you make of the healthy eating?

0:14:58 > 0:15:01Healthy eating would normally include vegetables,

0:15:01 > 0:15:05just as a sort of base, sort of starting point, really.

0:15:05 > 0:15:08I mean, the best bit was the teaspoon of yoghurt.

0:15:09 > 0:15:11What is that?!

0:15:14 > 0:15:17For me, that is one of the highlights of the series.

0:15:17 > 0:15:20Watching Michaela and Harrison trying to decide...

0:15:20 > 0:15:23I mean, have they ever...? Let's have a look at it again, please.

0:15:23 > 0:15:25Can we remind ourselves? I really enjoyed this bit.

0:15:25 > 0:15:27I have no idea what to go in at, to try,

0:15:27 > 0:15:30so let's just try something dead small.

0:15:30 > 0:15:33Put that in and just see if it will help with...

0:15:39 > 0:15:41If you've ever cooked a meal in your life, that's madness, isn't it?

0:15:41 > 0:15:44It was like having fish and chips or something and then thinking,

0:15:44 > 0:15:46"How can we...? Let's put one mushy pea on this

0:15:46 > 0:15:50"and see if that makes a difference."

0:15:50 > 0:15:52I think they were thinking yoghurt's healthy.

0:15:52 > 0:15:54Well, so put more of it in, then.

0:15:56 > 0:15:59You weren't keen on the Gourmet Crusaders...

0:15:59 > 0:16:01- Yeah, that's right.- ..name.- No.

0:16:01 > 0:16:04Sarah sort of overruled you. Should you have fought harder?

0:16:04 > 0:16:08I think I did give it... I did tell her enough, I think.

0:16:08 > 0:16:11But obviously she said I hadn't.

0:16:11 > 0:16:13Being PM, it always comes down to you,

0:16:13 > 0:16:15so you have to make that choice, whether you change it

0:16:15 > 0:16:17or whether you keep it. She did stick by it.

0:16:17 > 0:16:21What did you make of the Gourmet Crusaders name, Claudine?

0:16:21 > 0:16:23I think it was such a shame, actually,

0:16:23 > 0:16:26that you didn't fight harder, because it was a terrible name.

0:16:26 > 0:16:29You came up with World Gourmet Kitchen.

0:16:29 > 0:16:31Something around that would have been much better

0:16:31 > 0:16:33than Gourmet Crusaders.

0:16:33 > 0:16:34You're right, she just cut you dead,

0:16:34 > 0:16:37but I wanted you to kind of fight more.

0:16:37 > 0:16:40It's not a great connotation to have with anything.

0:16:40 > 0:16:43Crusaders sounds like war, it sounds quite expansive,

0:16:43 > 0:16:46British Empire. I don't think it would help, Bushra,

0:16:46 > 0:16:48with your suggestion of adding an umlaut to it.

0:16:53 > 0:16:56That seems to make it slightly more of a problem, I'd say.

0:16:58 > 0:17:01Yours was the neat little passport stamp, that was your idea.

0:17:01 > 0:17:04- The footprints were perhaps a little paw-like.- Yep.

0:17:04 > 0:17:07Human footprints don't make me think of dog food.

0:17:07 > 0:17:10- They looked like paw prints. - They did look a bit like paw prints.

0:17:10 > 0:17:13What weird dogs have you people got?

0:17:13 > 0:17:15Let's talk about some of the other candidates.

0:17:15 > 0:17:18Did you get on with Harrison? How did you find working with him?

0:17:18 > 0:17:20I did. I actually got on really, really well with Harrison.

0:17:20 > 0:17:22He's just him. He's always himself.

0:17:22 > 0:17:25He actually gives 100% in everything that he does.

0:17:25 > 0:17:28He might have a different approach to things,

0:17:28 > 0:17:31- but, yeah, I think he's a strong candidate.- He was project manager.

0:17:31 > 0:17:35Why do you think it took him so long to become project manager?

0:17:35 > 0:17:37You know what? There was so many strong people there

0:17:37 > 0:17:40that even if he wanted to be, he probably couldn't make it,

0:17:40 > 0:17:43because there were just so many people who would just jump on it

0:17:43 > 0:17:44and actually get it.

0:17:44 > 0:17:45I just think, yeah, he just waited.

0:17:45 > 0:17:48Also waited for the right task, maybe, as well,

0:17:48 > 0:17:51that would maybe interest Lord Sugar at the same time.

0:17:51 > 0:17:53Andi, across the whole task, he did quite well.

0:17:53 > 0:17:54I thought he did quite well.

0:17:54 > 0:17:58There was a certain connection he had when he was doing the pitch

0:17:58 > 0:18:01that was quite relaxed, because he believed in what he was saying.

0:18:01 > 0:18:02That's the key to those things.

0:18:02 > 0:18:04If you believe what you're saying,

0:18:04 > 0:18:06you can get people to believe anything, clearly.

0:18:06 > 0:18:08He didn't overdo it in the pitch.

0:18:08 > 0:18:10No, he was quite relaxed, laid back,

0:18:10 > 0:18:13he just sort of put the facts out there and talked about it

0:18:13 > 0:18:15in quite a gentle manner,

0:18:15 > 0:18:17so he didn't oversell, he didn't undersell.

0:18:17 > 0:18:19It was cos he believed himself.

0:18:19 > 0:18:22Yeah, he was project manager this week, Claudine,

0:18:22 > 0:18:27but a lot of the time he did seem to be slightly influenced by Michaela.

0:18:27 > 0:18:30- Slightly influenced. - Slightly influenced.- Yeah.

0:18:30 > 0:18:33I don't think he was brilliant as a project manager,

0:18:33 > 0:18:38because, as you say, first of all, Joanna had said, "Yeah, I can cook."

0:18:38 > 0:18:41When he said, "OK, well, I'll go on to the branding,

0:18:41 > 0:18:42"you can do the cooking."

0:18:42 > 0:18:45Michaela then piped up with, "Well, I think you should come with me."

0:18:45 > 0:18:48Because I think she didn't want to work with either Jade or Joanna

0:18:48 > 0:18:50because she knows they're difficult.

0:18:50 > 0:18:52She thought, "I'll have an easier time with Harrison

0:18:52 > 0:18:54"and he'll do what I say."

0:18:54 > 0:18:56When they got in the kitchen, she kind of went,

0:18:56 > 0:18:59"Well, I've never made a chicken curry before."

0:18:59 > 0:19:01You think, "For goodness' sake." He was quite adamant,

0:19:01 > 0:19:04"Hm, I'm not sure chicken curry really is healthy."

0:19:04 > 0:19:07"Yeah, we'll go with chicken curry, then, Michaela."

0:19:07 > 0:19:09Harrison may have been project manager, but at times,

0:19:09 > 0:19:11he didn't have a Michel Roux.

0:19:11 > 0:19:13But he certainly wasn't always in control.

0:19:13 > 0:19:15Michaela, from what I understand,

0:19:15 > 0:19:17you were operating Harrison like a ventriloquist.

0:19:19 > 0:19:21- MICHAELA:- I'm absolutely bouncing.

0:19:21 > 0:19:24One of the other things that we're throwing out now

0:19:24 > 0:19:25was Root Flavour.

0:19:25 > 0:19:27We need to be something, like, in the mind.

0:19:27 > 0:19:29Use, like, all your worldly knowledge

0:19:29 > 0:19:31and think of a different word for mind,

0:19:31 > 0:19:33but try and keep it along those lines.

0:19:33 > 0:19:36We had a few issues, which was unfortunate.

0:19:36 > 0:19:38Do you know what, though? This is seriously,

0:19:38 > 0:19:40this is the biggest opportunity of your life.

0:19:40 > 0:19:43We're so far on in this. You need to put whatever this is behind you,

0:19:43 > 0:19:47because if I lose because of this, honestly, I'm going to be fuming.

0:19:48 > 0:19:50I'm absolutely bouncing.

0:19:54 > 0:19:57Claudine, Joanna and Jade working together this week.

0:19:57 > 0:20:00I use "working together" in the loosest possible...

0:20:00 > 0:20:02- It was terrible. - Like a poorly oiled machine.

0:20:02 > 0:20:07It really... It really was. They obviously wind each other up anyway,

0:20:07 > 0:20:09so why you would put them together is beyond me,

0:20:09 > 0:20:11but I think that Joanna...

0:20:11 > 0:20:14The problem is, Joanna actually has some good ideas,

0:20:14 > 0:20:16but because she's quite whingey and negative,

0:20:16 > 0:20:18no-one really listens to her.

0:20:18 > 0:20:20They kind of brush her aside.

0:20:20 > 0:20:24Jade is so forceful that Joanna just didn't really have a chance -

0:20:24 > 0:20:26but I would never have put the two of them together.

0:20:26 > 0:20:29There was a lovely moment where Jade said, "Come on, Joanna,

0:20:29 > 0:20:32"think about it, it's food, it's for the mind,

0:20:32 > 0:20:33"it's for the mind, it's food.

0:20:33 > 0:20:34"Food mind."

0:20:36 > 0:20:38Well, it's certainly better than Joanna's

0:20:38 > 0:20:40suggestion of Root Flavours,

0:20:40 > 0:20:43which sounds like a name for a terrible blues musician.

0:20:43 > 0:20:45Andi, you're the food expert, Root Flavours,

0:20:45 > 0:20:48could you see where she was going with that?

0:20:48 > 0:20:51Well, you know, none of the ideas were good at the beginning.

0:20:51 > 0:20:53Jade had said to her there's no such thing as a bad idea,

0:20:53 > 0:20:56say anything, throw it all out there, we'll bounce it all around.

0:20:56 > 0:20:59Absolute nonsense.

0:20:59 > 0:21:00Can I just say, Jade?

0:21:00 > 0:21:02If you are watching, there are such things as a bad idea.

0:21:02 > 0:21:04Food Mind is one.

0:21:04 > 0:21:09Joanna seemed bizarrely obsessed with this Root Flavours idea.

0:21:09 > 0:21:10You don't think it's a bad idea?

0:21:10 > 0:21:13I just... I'm just not really sure where it was coming from.

0:21:13 > 0:21:17It's not that it was a bad idea, I just think it's a starting place.

0:21:17 > 0:21:20She didn't seem to be able to get anyone to bounce back,

0:21:20 > 0:21:21do you know what I mean?

0:21:21 > 0:21:24She just kept trying to reposition it and reposition it

0:21:24 > 0:21:27and nobody was going for it, but she couldn't let it go.

0:21:27 > 0:21:29Have you ever worked with people you don't get on with, Ed?

0:21:29 > 0:21:31Not including this show.

0:21:31 > 0:21:33I mean, I'm self-employed, I'm a stand-up,

0:21:33 > 0:21:37so it's mainly me getting on my own nerves, frankly.

0:21:37 > 0:21:40I'm actually on a second written warning.

0:21:40 > 0:21:42I might let myself go next week.

0:21:43 > 0:21:46It's not a euphemism.

0:21:46 > 0:21:47I've got you there, Rhod, it was.

0:21:48 > 0:21:51Sarah was project managing Graphene. The team lost,

0:21:51 > 0:21:54but were you impressed with her individual performance this week?

0:21:54 > 0:21:59Well, yes and no. I think that she's very professional, very calm,

0:21:59 > 0:22:00very considered.

0:22:00 > 0:22:02She doesn't get involved in arguments,

0:22:02 > 0:22:04but I was disappointed

0:22:04 > 0:22:06that she didn't listen to Bushra's point of view.

0:22:06 > 0:22:10She also, in a very subtle way, did what she wanted to do.

0:22:10 > 0:22:12Yeah. She reminds me of you, Ed, a lot.

0:22:12 > 0:22:15Very calm, considered, efficient.

0:22:15 > 0:22:18You know very well that that is not true about me at all.

0:22:18 > 0:22:21You're lucky that I made it here in trousers, quite frankly.

0:22:21 > 0:22:23No, but she absolutely said

0:22:23 > 0:22:25that you hadn't come up with the bit on the box,

0:22:25 > 0:22:27the stamp bit on the box, and you clearly did.

0:22:27 > 0:22:29I just thought that that wasn't very fair.

0:22:29 > 0:22:31I've just got to add that Sarah and I

0:22:31 > 0:22:33genuinely work really well together

0:22:33 > 0:22:35and she is actually a really, really nice girl.

0:22:35 > 0:22:37She is very good at what she does,

0:22:37 > 0:22:40but she's also a tactical game player.

0:22:40 > 0:22:42You've come into this process.

0:22:42 > 0:22:46I guess people do have that up their sleeves. She did.

0:22:46 > 0:22:48Well, Bushra, unfortunately, as you know,

0:22:48 > 0:22:51Lord Sugar won't be investing in you,

0:22:51 > 0:22:53but he does have this advice for your future.

0:22:55 > 0:22:58Now, Bushra has a very interesting business.

0:22:58 > 0:23:00It's a ladies' fashion business.

0:23:01 > 0:23:04She's very passionate, very intelligent,

0:23:04 > 0:23:06but in this particular task,

0:23:06 > 0:23:08Bushra got the pitch all wrong,

0:23:08 > 0:23:11so my friendly advice to her

0:23:11 > 0:23:13is try and work on her presentation

0:23:13 > 0:23:15and pitching skills.

0:23:15 > 0:23:16If she can add that

0:23:16 > 0:23:18to the other business skills she has,

0:23:18 > 0:23:20she'll go quite a long way.

0:23:23 > 0:23:26- Work on the pitching skills. - Yeah, of course.

0:23:26 > 0:23:28You know, I've never, ever pitched before.

0:23:28 > 0:23:32I've been really fortunate to do all of my deals, I'd say, over a coffee.

0:23:32 > 0:23:35So, coming into this process, I've learned so much about pitching

0:23:35 > 0:23:38and I will definitely be taking that with me, as well.

0:23:38 > 0:23:40What was your business plan?

0:23:40 > 0:23:44So I run an Islamic, faith-driven brand online

0:23:44 > 0:23:46and I wanted to grow it.

0:23:46 > 0:23:49It's clothing, fashion, all sorts of things like that.

0:23:49 > 0:23:52OK. Fabulous. Lord Sugar made his decision,

0:23:52 > 0:23:55but does our panel think it was the right one? Claudine?

0:23:55 > 0:23:56I think, honestly,

0:23:56 > 0:23:59James was quite lucky not to be brought back into the boardroom,

0:23:59 > 0:24:02but based on the three that were in the boardroom,

0:24:02 > 0:24:05I think he probably did make the right decision.

0:24:05 > 0:24:06Andi?

0:24:06 > 0:24:09No. No, I don't think he made the right decision,

0:24:09 > 0:24:11because I thought that actually...

0:24:11 > 0:24:13This is just based on this week, I thought you were methodical,

0:24:13 > 0:24:16I thought you were honest, I thought you were straightforward,

0:24:16 > 0:24:18and I thought you had a real connection

0:24:18 > 0:24:21with what you were trying to do, so I think it was wrong.

0:24:21 > 0:24:23I think it should have been Elizabeth.

0:24:23 > 0:24:27- Ed?- Based on this week, no, I don't think you should have been fired.

0:24:27 > 0:24:31As a whole process, perhaps it might have been your time to go.

0:24:31 > 0:24:34Also, I thought he was about to fire Elizabeth,

0:24:34 > 0:24:37but then decided the quickest way to shut her up

0:24:37 > 0:24:39was just to send her back to the house.

0:24:39 > 0:24:44I think if she keeps talking, she could just win this whole thing.

0:24:44 > 0:24:46It's time to find out what our audience thinks.

0:24:46 > 0:24:48If you agreed with Lord Sugar, hold up Fired.

0:24:48 > 0:24:51If you disagree, hold up Hired now, please.
