:00:13. > :00:23.Where is your brains? That's nonsense. This is a disgrace. The

:00:23. > :00:30.

:00:30. > :00:35.failure is down to you. You're CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

:00:35. > :00:39.Good evening. Welcome to The Apprentice: You're

:00:39. > :00:46.Fired. It is task four in Lord Sugar's search for his business

:00:46. > :00:51.partner, but where 16 started only 12 remain. We will be getting under

:00:51. > :00:53.the skin of the one who failed to sell herself to Lord Sugar. This

:00:53. > :00:59.week it was a special championship to see which of the boys could be

:00:59. > :01:06.more cheepy child selling beauty products. An early leader, of

:01:07. > :01:16.course, was Glenn. I can't talk you through what they

:01:16. > :01:21.are, they are pretty. You're pretty. That looks very cool.

:01:21. > :01:31.But just for the sheer over eagerness, the winner has to be Jim.

:01:31. > :01:37.

:01:37. > :01:39.Four hands are better than two. LAUGHTER

:01:39. > :01:44.Let's meet our panel, Nicky Kinnaird, comedian, Ed Byrne and

:01:44. > :01:47.model and broadcaster, Lisa Snowdon. Welcome to You are You're fired.

:01:47. > :01:53.Tonight's task of selling beauty products and treatments resulted in

:01:53. > :01:59.one candidate being shown the door. Felicity, all you've told me is the

:01:59. > :02:04.team agreed this. The team agreed that. The person person I'm looking

:02:04. > :02:08.for to work with me, there is no team. A lot of decisions aren't

:02:08. > :02:18.really made here. For that reason, Felicity, you are fired.

:02:18. > :02:28.Thank you for for this opportunity. Please welcome welcome Felicity

:02:28. > :02:36.

:02:36. > :02:39.Jackson. I condition imagine the -- I can't

:02:39. > :02:44.imagine the stress of of watching a show like that. Did you feel tense?

:02:44. > :02:48.I know this place, it is a massage where you are like an old woman

:02:48. > :02:52.being massaged in the chair beside you. Is it weird watching it back?

:02:52. > :02:56.It was weird. It wean as bad as I thought it was going to be because

:02:56. > :02:59.it is condensed so they missed out loads of the mistakes we made.

:02:59. > :03:05.Really, there was more? There was more. There was more.

:03:05. > :03:09.You are not one of those apprentices who will come out and

:03:09. > :03:12.say, "I am furious." It was a tragedy.

:03:12. > :03:22.Let's remind ourselves. You seem to have lost the plot.

:03:22. > :03:27.This was a disastrous task. Initially, we wanted the the spray

:03:27. > :03:32.tan. That's where they took most of

:03:32. > :03:40.their money. We haven't done any messages so

:03:40. > :03:44.far? What the hell was going on for four hours? The products are

:03:44. > :03:47.selling really well. I stated this task was all about providing

:03:47. > :03:51.treatments. Are they pushing the treatments

:03:51. > :03:55.down here? They haven't mentioned it yet. They are just selling the

:03:55. > :03:58.products. Who decided to spend nearly 800.

:03:58. > :04:03.I wish we could get more of everything.

:04:03. > :04:09.What is all this as a team? As a team one of you is leaving today.

:04:09. > :04:13.You lost money. Yes. That. That doesn't happen that often? No. I

:04:13. > :04:17.think that we missed the point of the task. We spent too much money

:04:17. > :04:21.on the products. We forgot about the treatments and we just kind of

:04:21. > :04:24.focused on the hair bows and forgot that actually the margin was much

:04:24. > :04:30.higher. Was there a lightbulb above head

:04:30. > :04:34.moment when you realised? About 3.30pm. We had a couple more hours

:04:34. > :04:37.to go and it was kind of like, "Yeah, we're going to lose this

:04:37. > :04:45.unless something has happened worse on the other team. We're definitely

:04:45. > :04:49.going to lose this.". Nicky, had is your industry. Was it obvious they

:04:49. > :04:53.made a mistake here? Extremely challenging trying to operate on

:04:53. > :04:57.two different levels. I mean you've got great pedestrian flow in front

:04:57. > :05:01.of where you had the retail pitch which actually wasn't the main task

:05:01. > :05:06.in hand and then somehow or another you had to get customers to go to

:05:06. > :05:14.the third floor for the treatment piece.

:05:14. > :05:18.Literally, on two floors. But you had seven people. You could have

:05:18. > :05:23.hired a shuttle bus and driven people the three floors? Yes.

:05:23. > :05:29.It would have taken that because a customer will try and escape every

:05:29. > :05:36.bit on the journey. I would like to have seen a

:05:36. > :05:40.customer trying to escape, chased through The Bull Ring. You lost

:05:40. > :05:43.money. It is unfair to give out to you for losing money. The other

:05:43. > :05:48.team made 200 quid bearing in mind they had six or seven people

:05:48. > :05:53.working for free and they had a three roomed treatment centre

:05:53. > :05:58.upstairs. You don't come home with 200 when you have got got oh, who

:05:58. > :06:04.pays the rent? More money could have been made and wasn't. I think

:06:04. > :06:09.Lord Sugar should have been more angry with everyone on this task.

:06:09. > :06:12.Lisa? You put too much empa sis on the product and and it was all

:06:12. > :06:15.about the treatments and that's where you were going to make your

:06:16. > :06:19.money. You wanted to buy more of the bows and the Lady Gaga bits and

:06:19. > :06:22.pieces and you weren't in control of your team. You weren't driving

:06:22. > :06:27.people upstairs and that's where, unfortunately and you had one

:06:27. > :06:30.treatment room. When Tom came down an hour or two

:06:30. > :06:38.hours into it? I think about three, yeah.

:06:38. > :06:46.What was your reaction, "Hey, it is Tom, here are some bows.". Where

:06:46. > :06:49.have you been all morning? I want to know why you brought Tom down.

:06:49. > :06:53.I brought Tom down because I would like to talk down to him a bit

:06:53. > :06:58.more? The reason why I brought Tom down was because a lot of girls

:06:58. > :07:03.wouldn't have wanted a guy to do the massaging because I had Ellie

:07:03. > :07:08.up there. I thought Ellie would be able to do massages and that's why

:07:08. > :07:14.I brought Tom down. Now I think I would have been better to bring

:07:14. > :07:18.Melody down. When she came down, she drove a lot of sales up.

:07:18. > :07:23.You don't deal with buying products and selling it. It is with the

:07:23. > :07:27.creative space? Yeah. I run kind of similar to trade shows and what

:07:27. > :07:33.they are are to help actors survive in between jobs and there is lots

:07:33. > :07:38.of promo and there is children's entertaining and teaching so what I

:07:38. > :07:43.do I run big events and so I've never actually had to buy products

:07:43. > :07:47.and... With a view to selling them on? I bought lots of products as a

:07:47. > :07:53.consumer, but I have never kind of, you know, been on the other side

:07:53. > :07:56.and I found that really difficult. That's often the case on the The

:07:56. > :08:05.Apprentice, "I know that, I buy that stuff, therefore I should be

:08:05. > :08:09.great at this task." "oh, it is milk. I didn't sign on for this.".

:08:10. > :08:13.It is, you know, it is pounds and pence. It is like any other

:08:13. > :08:16.business. If you are buying nuts and bolts.

:08:16. > :08:20.But if you are talking about treatments, it is very personal. So

:08:20. > :08:24.how you treat that customer is different from just simply standing

:08:24. > :08:28.there, hard sell, a product, at the end of the day what you are asking

:08:28. > :08:34.people to do was go three floors upstairs, take their clothes off

:08:34. > :08:42.and lead and leave their bodies in whose ever hands. A different

:08:42. > :08:47.proposition. Harvesting organs.

:08:47. > :08:51.One kidney, my friend. The problem with the treatment room being far

:08:51. > :08:59.away that's why Jim looked as sweaty and out of breath as he did

:08:59. > :09:06.when he arrived. He couldn't have looked more sinister if he was

:09:07. > :09:11.covered in blood! "who is next?". I mean Tom looks

:09:11. > :09:18.like a neared, but dress Tom up in that thing and he looks like the

:09:18. > :09:25.psycho dentist. Yeah, he does look like him. OK, let's move on now to

:09:25. > :09:28.Natasha who frankly should be given an Oscar For this sales pitch.

:09:28. > :09:33.Just because it is blond doesn't necessarily mean it doesn't look

:09:33. > :09:37.good if that makes sense. It doesn't necessarily mean,

:09:38. > :09:43.however it doesn't look good! LAUGHTER

:09:43. > :09:47.It looks weird. I mean, would you encourage your staff to lie about

:09:47. > :09:51.products? That would concern me greatly.

:09:51. > :09:59.That rash is fine. That's a happy rash!

:09:59. > :10:04.It is beautiful, you know, you had to sell on The Prentice? I did

:10:04. > :10:08.stretch the truth a little bit. It wasn't as bad as that with the

:10:08. > :10:12.blond on the dark hair. I was selling stuff. I turned into like a

:10:13. > :10:17.car car dealer. I had skills I never knew I had. I managed to sell

:10:18. > :10:21.a red leather sofa with an inbuilt TV for somebody who came along for

:10:21. > :10:25.a drink. You have to do what you have to do. I wanted the product to

:10:25. > :10:34.fly out the door and it did. This has to be the product of the

:10:34. > :10:37.series so far. Winge is the fusion of a wig and a

:10:37. > :10:40.fringe. It is like a pet hamster a little

:10:40. > :10:47.bit. We will just demonstrate that on

:10:47. > :10:52.people. You have got a fairly believable

:10:52. > :10:58.clipping winge. That's a very good colour match.

:10:58. > :11:07.I still don't think it suits me. Nick, can we tempt you with a a

:11:07. > :11:16.fringe. It looks like you just ped a rabbit

:11:16. > :11:20.-- scalped a a rabbit. From exactly this angle, that works.

:11:20. > :11:25.That works. LAUGHTER

:11:25. > :11:30.Now then. Now then. But if I do that - I think the

:11:30. > :11:40.illusion is shattered. It has a life to it as well

:11:40. > :11:48.actually. It is good quality hair!

:11:48. > :11:58.I feel like I'm going to a rave. Do you want to try?

:11:58. > :12:05.

:12:05. > :12:07.It does look like... LAUGHTER

:12:07. > :12:12.APPLAUSE I could be in a Beatles cover band!

:12:12. > :12:22.# She loves you Yeah, yeah #

:12:22. > :12:22.

:12:22. > :12:25.It doesn't work work quite as well with me. Ah, Mr Bond.

:12:25. > :12:33.Mr Dara O'Briain, I have been expecting you!

:12:33. > :12:40.Were you impressed? Was it a difficult sell this one?

:12:40. > :12:41.LAUGHTER This is strange. This is hot!

:12:41. > :12:44.LAUGHTER It was weird actually because I

:12:44. > :12:48.think that was the first thing that sold. So I was like, "Oh maybe

:12:48. > :12:54.these are going to sell quite well" and then they didn't.

:12:54. > :13:04.If you were buying a beauty product and you are wondering how do I look,

:13:04. > :13:04.

:13:04. > :13:07.you don't want to see this? LAUGHTER

:13:07. > :13:10.I'm sorry, I'm sorry, he is here, Nick. How are you?

:13:10. > :13:11.I'm very well. That wasn't a help, Nick.

:13:11. > :13:19.LAUGHTER Sorry.

:13:19. > :13:22.Were you that disgusted by that? That was the the onset of a day of

:13:22. > :13:26.heartburn actually. It was a badly fractured performance the whole

:13:26. > :13:30.thing, wasn't it? There was a point however, I don't think you could

:13:30. > :13:34.have hinted more, you were practically, more treatments. More

:13:34. > :13:39.treatments. I try to be very dispassionate and

:13:39. > :13:43.removed from it, but sometimes one is forced to actually sort of state

:13:43. > :13:48.the obvious and selling the wrong product and that actually is the

:13:48. > :13:53.down escalator, isn't it? lesson we learned over the years,

:13:53. > :13:58.never claim to be an expert on The Apprentice.

:13:58. > :14:01.Can I tempt you to try some tanning lotion. I have my own business. I

:14:01. > :14:07.sell skin care products for a living.

:14:07. > :14:13.Susan put herself forward as the beauty guru. Somebody who knows

:14:13. > :14:18.this this industry industry inside out.

:14:18. > :14:24.Well, if you set yourself up as something you're not, you're in for

:14:24. > :14:31.a great big fall. Tanings for just 10. It is 10 for

:14:31. > :14:35.a full body spray. I won't be buying any. Is it too

:14:35. > :14:41.expensive for you? Yeah, Nicky, she does have her own

:14:42. > :14:45.skin care company, but was she blowing her trumpet a bit? Overly

:14:45. > :14:50.ambitious given the products they were talking about and she herself

:14:50. > :14:55.didn't manage to get close to the numbers she was talking about even

:14:55. > :14:58.her own personal performance and that was someone with a skin care

:14:58. > :15:03.background. Her reaction when she got called on

:15:03. > :15:12.it. It was classic Apprentice. You said you could do this and you

:15:12. > :15:18.didn't do that and she was like, "Well, that is your fault.", "You

:15:18. > :15:22.said you could do it." "and you believed me.". Was it necessary to

:15:22. > :15:26.point out, there is an I told you so element that they decided to

:15:26. > :15:30.take time out to point to the person that you did this wrong. We

:15:30. > :15:35.are all in a line. You can actually see her getting a kicking here.

:15:35. > :15:41.You got Susan there who is in the beauty business. I'm regretting a

:15:41. > :15:44.lot of the decisions that were made on advice made by given.

:15:44. > :15:47.I think we can sell 72 tanning products.

:15:47. > :15:51.I thought that was too high. Do you think you can sell that

:15:51. > :15:57.amount? I think it will be a lot. There were four salespeople and

:15:57. > :16:01.eight hours in one day. Your words were, "I can sell 60 on

:16:01. > :16:10.my own." I did not say I could sell 60 on my own.

:16:10. > :16:12.Did you have stuff over then? You have had... This is so unfair,

:16:12. > :16:18.Zoe. It is not unfair. You made your bed

:16:18. > :16:23.and you have got to lie in it. You have given advice and you have

:16:23. > :16:27.got to take accountability for it. I don't understand why you have a

:16:27. > :16:31.go at me. There is no friends in this place.

:16:31. > :16:36.Yes, panto crowd. How did you find Suzie? I really

:16:36. > :16:42.got on with Suzie and actually I think what Zoe and Helen did to her,

:16:42. > :16:45.I don't think was very good for the whole team spirit and I think it

:16:45. > :16:49.was real game playing and what happened was that Zoe thought this

:16:49. > :16:53.is going wrong. Let's pin it on someone quickly and so she went

:16:53. > :16:57.downstairs and made sure that everybody could see she had a go at

:16:57. > :17:04.Suzie so when it came to the boardroom she had somebody to pin

:17:04. > :17:08.it on. However, however... sound of an audience thinking.

:17:08. > :17:14.However, maybe I should have taken a leave out of Zoe's book and made

:17:14. > :17:20.people, you know, be accountable for their own decisions. So when he

:17:20. > :17:26.came to ask me to take it, I could have said two people and given good

:17:26. > :17:32.reasons for them. How is that a surprise? Two. What,

:17:32. > :17:37.how long have they been doing? It is, one, isn't it. For years, it

:17:37. > :17:42.has always been one. Really? Really? How can you dither about it

:17:43. > :17:52.for that long? I'm trying to think. Having dithered and then used the

:17:52. > :17:54.phrase, "Right, I'm going to be decisive."

:17:54. > :18:01.LAUGHTER Do you regret say not bringing Jim

:18:01. > :18:05.in? Tom? No, I wouldn't have brought

:18:05. > :18:13.Tom in because actually if I listened to Tom a bit more we

:18:13. > :18:17.probably wouldn't have made the mistakes we did.

:18:17. > :18:21.APPLAUSE Tom doing well.

:18:21. > :18:25.You were very mean to Tom, I thought. Yeah.

:18:25. > :18:28.I like Tom. I don't know what it is about Tom, but I like him.

:18:28. > :18:36.I really like Tom as well, but I should have listened to him.

:18:36. > :18:42.It was the stop reading thing., ""Tom, stop reading that. I don't

:18:42. > :18:47.want there there being any possibility of excess information."

:18:47. > :18:49."Take the book out of your hand.". Let's hear what Lord Sugar and your

:18:49. > :18:52.former colleagues had to say about you.

:18:52. > :18:56.The key to this task was to bring people up and to have the

:18:56. > :18:59.treatments. She didn't do anything. She didn't do anything at all. She

:18:59. > :19:03.lost me money. She didn't look at the big picture

:19:03. > :19:07.in terms of what was critical. I really liked working with her,

:19:07. > :19:12.but she made a mistake in not taking a step back and realising

:19:12. > :19:16.the profit margins on the services compared to the products.

:19:16. > :19:20.Lodgically, I don't think she made any strategy or plan of how we were

:19:20. > :19:24.going to get people from the sales floor to the treatment room.

:19:24. > :19:27.I think she is a bit like a rabbit in the headlights. This is not a

:19:27. > :19:34.person that could go into business with me and that's Felicity had to

:19:34. > :19:39.You're nodding. Yeah, I think that's right to be

:19:39. > :19:44.honest. I don't think we would work that well together me and Lord

:19:44. > :19:48.Sugar. I think that's fine. Have you enjoyed the process?

:19:48. > :19:52.yeah, I had such a good time and when I got fired, I was upset

:19:52. > :19:55.because I was fired, but I was also upset because I was out of this

:19:55. > :19:58.whole experience that I was really enjoying.

:19:58. > :20:02.Is there anything in particular you learned? I think I definitely

:20:02. > :20:07.learned that sometimes within a team like that you do need to be

:20:07. > :20:11.more decisive and make sure that you give people their exact job

:20:11. > :20:16.roles and also take a step back and kind of make sure you read the

:20:16. > :20:20.whole dossier and make sure you know what you need to do. So.

:20:20. > :20:26.Nicky, you have been in business, you built up this company, but it

:20:26. > :20:29.is not all plain sailing? No, there have been a lot of less lessons

:20:29. > :20:33.learned along the way. The first one was a hard one on location

:20:33. > :20:41.because I started off in a basement of a former banana warehouse in

:20:41. > :20:51.Covent Garden when the only street presence was an extra large door

:20:51. > :20:52.

:20:52. > :20:59.door coming on to the office. The thing was how to get the customer

:20:59. > :21:04.there? What would you look for in a business partner? Someone with a

:21:04. > :21:07.complimentary skill set, but I think respect of all parties

:21:07. > :21:11.involved is critical and that fell short.

:21:11. > :21:19.Yes. Let's look at the others. Lyon, who

:21:19. > :21:24.didn't want to get near this task because he has got' girlfriend!

:21:24. > :21:27.Through gritted teeth, I didn't really want to do it.

:21:27. > :21:31.I'm not comfortable during that process.

:21:31. > :21:36.I can't promote this product, I have got a girlfriend and if she

:21:36. > :21:40.started realising that I was wearing make-up... Why the hell are

:21:40. > :21:46.you here now if you are not doing the treatments. It doesn't make you

:21:46. > :21:50.gay. I've got a girlfriend. If two of

:21:50. > :21:56.you can do it. I think for the sake of five

:21:56. > :22:06.minutes just spray him. OK, it was bearable. I did it. I

:22:06. > :22:09.

:22:09. > :22:11.spray tanned a man. I had to take one for the team.

:22:11. > :22:13.LAUGHTER Like this is the greatest boundary

:22:13. > :22:15.there is for a man, I spray tanned a man.

:22:15. > :22:18.I'm not proud it happened back in college, they were younger times
