0:00:02 > 0:00:06This was mayhem. That don't look good. It is not rocket science.

0:00:06 > 0:00:09Couldn't organise a piss-up in a brewery. Bloody clueless.

0:00:09 > 0:00:13Total bloody mess. You're fired. You are fired.

0:00:13 > 0:00:15You're fired. You're fired.

0:00:20 > 0:00:21CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:00:26 > 0:00:28What happened there?

0:00:28 > 0:00:32Good evening and welcome to the interview special edition

0:00:32 > 0:00:34of The Apprentice: You're Fired!

0:00:34 > 0:00:35Five candidates faced a grilling

0:00:35 > 0:00:38by Lord Sugar's inquisitors but by the end,

0:00:38 > 0:00:42only two remained. After one of the most surprising episodes in years,

0:00:42 > 0:00:45we'll be unravelling what happened to Jordan, Francesca and Neil.

0:00:45 > 0:00:48What happened to Jordan?! What happened to Neil?!

0:00:48 > 0:00:51So many questions. We'll be assessing the merits also

0:00:51 > 0:00:53and the challenges faced by Luisa and Leah as they go

0:00:53 > 0:00:56head-to-head in next week's final. Now let's meet our panel.

0:00:56 > 0:00:59Entrepreneur and business investor Dale Murray,

0:00:59 > 0:01:02Radio One's Matt Edmondson, and comedian Andi Osho,

0:01:02 > 0:01:03welcome to You're Fired!

0:01:03 > 0:01:05CHEERING AND APPLAUSE

0:01:09 > 0:01:13So tonight, it was finally the chance to scrutinise

0:01:13 > 0:01:17the final five's business plans leading to one candidate

0:01:17 > 0:01:19IMMEDIATELY being shown the door.

0:01:19 > 0:01:21Jordan, I've got nowhere further

0:01:21 > 0:01:25to go really with this business plan of yours.

0:01:25 > 0:01:28Jordan, you are fired.

0:01:28 > 0:01:30Thank you for the opportunity, Lord Sugar.

0:01:34 > 0:01:37Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Jordan Poulton.

0:01:37 > 0:01:40APPLAUSE AND CHEERING

0:01:42 > 0:01:44APPLAUSE DROWNS SPEECH

0:01:50 > 0:01:54- That didn't last long, Jordan, did it?- It didn't.- It didn't.

0:01:54 > 0:01:58But you know when you got away from the interviews and went into the boardroom...

0:01:58 > 0:02:01Yeah, I knew from about the first five minutes of the interviews that I was gone.

0:02:01 > 0:02:04Really? Really? There's a bit of you with your hand clenching

0:02:04 > 0:02:06and unclenching, and you're keeping a facade up...

0:02:06 > 0:02:09- I didn't show the tears. - Oh, God, that was tough.

0:02:09 > 0:02:12By the way, it's kind of ironic really because normally

0:02:12 > 0:02:14when you get fired, you get 100% of a show to yourself.

0:02:14 > 0:02:16And you don't even get 50.

0:02:16 > 0:02:17You get 33.3%

0:02:17 > 0:02:21which is the kind of figures you were bandying about,

0:02:21 > 0:02:26which is fair enough - at least it's mine to offer. Um, so...

0:02:28 > 0:02:30APPLAUSE

0:02:30 > 0:02:35The deal. The deal, Jordan. Let's see how this deal let you down.

0:02:35 > 0:02:43- You say you can solve a Rubik's Cube in under three minutes.- Yes.

0:02:43 > 0:02:45Your time starts now.

0:02:46 > 0:02:50This process is to find Lord Sugar a business partner

0:02:50 > 0:02:53- but you already have a partner. - Yes.

0:02:53 > 0:02:56You are not a shareholder in this business,

0:02:56 > 0:03:01therefore you've got no right to negotiate or to give away

0:03:01 > 0:03:02a part of a business that you do not own.

0:03:02 > 0:03:06I've had a gentleman's agreement since the day I met this person

0:03:06 > 0:03:08and told him what my vision was, that I'd be part of this company.

0:03:08 > 0:03:11Cut the crap here.

0:03:11 > 0:03:14Oh, I'm sorry. I made a mistake, I'll admit it.

0:03:14 > 0:03:15It was the pressure.

0:03:15 > 0:03:17You've got no right to be here

0:03:17 > 0:03:19because you're feeding on somebody else's idea.

0:03:19 > 0:03:22I think this interview is terminated. You can leave now.

0:03:30 > 0:03:33Were you under the impression that this was Dragons' Den?

0:03:34 > 0:03:37Could I not have made this more clear?

0:03:37 > 0:03:39Every time I do this at the camera, 50% of the business,

0:03:39 > 0:03:44250 grand. What part of that memo did you seem to not get?

0:03:44 > 0:03:47No, I did get that. But an investment is a little bit more than

0:03:47 > 0:03:49just an amount of money and a percentage.

0:03:49 > 0:03:52And I was maybe a bit heavy-handedly trying to make a point like that.

0:03:52 > 0:03:55Yeah. By the way, there were other people in this business,

0:03:55 > 0:03:56this pre-existing business.

0:03:56 > 0:03:59Yeah. So I'd been working on this business for six months

0:03:59 > 0:04:02with my partner and, in actual fact,

0:04:02 > 0:04:05he had started a limited company before he'd met me,

0:04:05 > 0:04:08but it was a pre-product business and there was no money that we were

0:04:08 > 0:04:11making so he was using it to monitor expenses and that sort of stuff.

0:04:11 > 0:04:13So I was really stupid in not

0:04:13 > 0:04:17making sure that I'd fixed the equity before I came in.

0:04:17 > 0:04:20So it left you in an awkward the position. But 15.39%?

0:04:21 > 0:04:24- Um...- Look, you're a charming man

0:04:24 > 0:04:27but it takes a fair amount of sweet-talking to go,

0:04:27 > 0:04:29"You say 50. I say 15.39."

0:04:29 > 0:04:31I maybe saw it as a negotiating point

0:04:31 > 0:04:33- and we could meet somewhere in the middle.- Really?!

0:04:33 > 0:04:35Yes, somewhere in the middle being 50%.

0:04:37 > 0:04:40Because it's drummed in, even if the process was going on,

0:04:40 > 0:04:4350% this, 250 grand, 50%, 250 grand.

0:04:43 > 0:04:48Did you know that this time bomb was ticking at some stage and that you would have to...

0:04:48 > 0:04:50Yeah, I knew it was coming but I like to break the rules.

0:04:50 > 0:04:54Yes! That worked out delightfully(!) Now...

0:04:54 > 0:04:56And the other thing was the setting up of a new business.

0:04:56 > 0:05:00There had been the setting up of a new business.

0:05:00 > 0:05:02That was partly why I made the mistake with the equity.

0:05:02 > 0:05:05Because it would be a new business I thought, "Why do I need to worry

0:05:05 > 0:05:09"about fixing the equity in this existing business if I have to start a new business anyway?"

0:05:09 > 0:05:11But the person I had been working with knew what was happening

0:05:11 > 0:05:14and we'd agreed what we would share if and when I won the investment.

0:05:14 > 0:05:17- I assumed that would be enough but clearly not.- OK, fine.

0:05:17 > 0:05:20Dale, by the way, I'll just introduce you. You now work as

0:05:20 > 0:05:24an angel investor which is start-ups and putting investment into companies.

0:05:24 > 0:05:28You yourself, you brought mobile top-ups to this country first.

0:05:28 > 0:05:31So you're coming from that experience into it.

0:05:31 > 0:05:33This was an unusual technique

0:05:33 > 0:05:35to approach The Apprentice interview with.

0:05:35 > 0:05:37This was an extremely odd technique, I think.

0:05:37 > 0:05:40I think whenever you approach anyone for an investment,

0:05:40 > 0:05:43especially when they've gone through this process,

0:05:43 > 0:05:45a ten-week process, really arduous, I think

0:05:45 > 0:05:48you've got yourself really tied up in knots at the end.

0:05:48 > 0:05:50You needed to have a much more compelling story

0:05:50 > 0:05:52and be quite clear and quite straightforward

0:05:52 > 0:05:55because investors, in 30 seconds, can look at Companies House

0:05:55 > 0:05:58information and find you out, and they always will.

0:05:58 > 0:06:01Yes, the honest truth is that I'm not trying to pull the wool over anyone's eyes.

0:06:01 > 0:06:04It was a huge mistake and there's no excuse. It was a schoolboy error.

0:06:04 > 0:06:07Matt, were you surprised? Shocked?

0:06:07 > 0:06:10I was not surprised that he's been fired, no. I was shocked...

0:06:10 > 0:06:11I was shocked

0:06:11 > 0:06:12at how it all crumbled at the end.

0:06:12 > 0:06:15Not least of all the Rubik's Cube. What happened there?

0:06:15 > 0:06:16We've heard his schemes for the business.

0:06:16 > 0:06:19I want to know why that little guy didn't get solved.

0:06:19 > 0:06:22I wish I had one. I could do one now and show I can actually do it.

0:06:22 > 0:06:24Have you been practising since the day you were five?

0:06:24 > 0:06:27Sat in your room going, "Right,

0:06:27 > 0:06:30"it's two turns to the right, one turn to the left and it's done!"

0:06:30 > 0:06:32We'd gone ten weeks and I hadn't even thought about it

0:06:32 > 0:06:36and someone starts a stopwatch and it's stressful and I crumbled.

0:06:36 > 0:06:38You were basically in Rubik's rehab.

0:06:38 > 0:06:41- You had not had time to play around with it.- Yeah.- OK.

0:06:41 > 0:06:44- Andi, were you surprised? - Not surprised.

0:06:44 > 0:06:47My advice would be, like, if you are going to sell

0:06:47 > 0:06:50a business that doesn't belong to you, aim for the sky.

0:06:50 > 0:06:53You know, you should've gone in there and gone,

0:06:53 > 0:06:56"I'm starting a business. It sells phones, tablets.

0:06:56 > 0:06:59"We're playing around with like a fruit-based name, pears,

0:06:59 > 0:07:02"orange, maybe apple. We'll see what comes."

0:07:02 > 0:07:04- You should go in like that. - Yeah, yeah.

0:07:04 > 0:07:06250 grand. By the end of the week,

0:07:06 > 0:07:09you could walk down Regent Street, "I'll have a shop there..."

0:07:11 > 0:07:14Were you tempted, by the way, when the heat was on

0:07:14 > 0:07:17and you knew you were going to get fired to pull the old...

0:07:17 > 0:07:18HE GASPS AND COUGHS

0:07:27 > 0:07:31- No.- I had to bring it up. I knew you'd bring it up. You're the one who brought it up...

0:07:31 > 0:07:33literally. Bits of things from days ago.

0:07:33 > 0:07:37- It was horrendous what was going on. - I was trying not to cough.

0:07:38 > 0:07:41This is what Lord Sugar had to say about you.

0:07:43 > 0:07:44Jordan seemed to be

0:07:44 > 0:07:46a very credible business prospect,

0:07:46 > 0:07:49winning seven out of ten tasks.

0:07:49 > 0:07:55But there were concerns that he is a facilitator rather than the doer.

0:07:55 > 0:07:59Jordan hit a brick wall when it came to light that the business

0:07:59 > 0:08:01he wanted me to invest in wasn't his.

0:08:01 > 0:08:03In the end, I was quite angry.

0:08:03 > 0:08:06I was never going to go into business with two people

0:08:06 > 0:08:08and that's why I had to fire Jordan.

0:08:10 > 0:08:13Did you not have a specific idea that you wanted to do on your own?

0:08:13 > 0:08:15I mean, like, you're a smart guy.

0:08:15 > 0:08:17You were in the Investment Society.

0:08:17 > 0:08:19You know about the structure of small businesses.

0:08:19 > 0:08:23You know, gentleman's agreement, you know that doesn't mean anything - in this kind of context.

0:08:23 > 0:08:28So, why did you not come up with a separate idea?

0:08:28 > 0:08:30I wanted to show that actually there was something

0:08:30 > 0:08:32I'd been seriously working on with a partner,

0:08:32 > 0:08:36I'd started to speak to customers and I don't think that came across.

0:08:36 > 0:08:37OK, granted.

0:08:37 > 0:08:40It looked like you'd come in on the back of that rather than the other way round.

0:08:40 > 0:08:42I get that. And it was silly.

0:08:42 > 0:08:44I think that maybe I should have thought more about

0:08:44 > 0:08:46how it would come across in something like that.

0:08:46 > 0:08:50Businesses, presumably at this stage, are springing up and then

0:08:50 > 0:08:53rejoining and falling apart and coming together and falling apart.

0:08:53 > 0:08:56Yes, I guess that does happen. It certainly can.

0:08:56 > 0:08:59But there's still no excuse to go into a process like this and not

0:08:59 > 0:09:03- have that straightened out but I think you've learnt that lesson. - I totally agree.

0:09:03 > 0:09:08- Are you scared of commitment? - It's not that I'm scared of commitment.

0:09:08 > 0:09:09It's really just that I think that

0:09:09 > 0:09:13until we think that something is proven, that we know that people

0:09:13 > 0:09:15want to use it, it seems like a waste of time

0:09:15 > 0:09:19and fluff to worry about signing contracts and deciding who owns what.

0:09:19 > 0:09:22No, no. It takes ten minutes to go on the internet, take ten minutes

0:09:22 > 0:09:25and you set a company up and you say this person has this shareholding

0:09:25 > 0:09:28and that person has this shareholding. It's done.

0:09:28 > 0:09:32It can cost as little as £20 and you've got your company formed.

0:09:32 > 0:09:34It's in black and white. Everyone knows where they stand.

0:09:34 > 0:09:38You don't want have a fallout six months down the track when your partner says,

0:09:38 > 0:09:41"No, I'm now going to get three quarter's of the company because

0:09:41 > 0:09:44"I'm the one who put all the ideas and all the energy into it."

0:09:44 > 0:09:46So get it sorted now, please. Please.

0:09:46 > 0:09:48APPLAUSE

0:09:51 > 0:09:55It's been a pleasure having you here. As I say, it's very fast.

0:09:55 > 0:09:56We only get to talk to you briefly

0:09:56 > 0:10:00but we do like to give a gift nonetheless to our candidates.

0:10:00 > 0:10:04And ours comes in two parts. The first is obviously that. And...

0:10:04 > 0:10:06Solve it! Solve it!

0:10:06 > 0:10:10..the second is an egg timer so that you will never make

0:10:10 > 0:10:14a claim about yourself that you cannot be entirely sure.

0:10:14 > 0:10:17I'm not and get you to do it because it would be the most boring

0:10:17 > 0:10:19three minutes of television in history.

0:10:19 > 0:10:20But that is for you to back up.

0:10:20 > 0:10:24Jordan, congratulations on reaching the final five. Here are your highlights.

0:10:26 > 0:10:29Even when under pressure, I try to remain upbeat.

0:10:29 > 0:10:31Life isn't about weathering the storm,

0:10:31 > 0:10:33it's about learning to dance in the rain.

0:10:33 > 0:10:36# I'm singing in the rain... #

0:10:36 > 0:10:38I love pressure. Make me happy - 990.

0:10:38 > 0:10:41- An order for 200. - I'd love to do that with you guys.

0:10:41 > 0:10:44- Very organised, efficient. - A pleasure to work with.

0:10:44 > 0:10:45I'm not afraid to try anything.

0:10:45 > 0:10:48Ooh, maybe I should try that, is that going to sting my mouth?

0:10:48 > 0:10:50Aaaargh!

0:10:50 > 0:10:51Take all our beer!

0:10:51 > 0:10:54Jordan's a real team player.

0:10:54 > 0:10:55I get quite excited about things.

0:10:55 > 0:10:59I am a strong, sexually liberated and high-powered woman.

0:10:59 > 0:11:03In terms of the feedback everyone likes my hairnet, right?

0:11:03 > 0:11:05- His heart's in the right place. - No matter what you throw at me,

0:11:05 > 0:11:07I'll jump it, hurdle it, climb it...

0:11:07 > 0:11:09First place is Jordan!

0:11:09 > 0:11:10I will succeed.

0:11:13 > 0:11:14APPLAUSE

0:11:14 > 0:11:17Ladies and gentlemen, Jordan Poulton!

0:11:25 > 0:11:28Three women were left at the end of this long process,

0:11:28 > 0:11:31but there's only room for two. One of them had to go.

0:11:31 > 0:11:33Difficult decision, here, ladies -

0:11:33 > 0:11:36one which, you know, I might live to regret.

0:11:36 > 0:11:38But...

0:11:38 > 0:11:42Francesca, you're fired.

0:11:42 > 0:11:45- Thank you for your time. - I wish you the best of luck.

0:11:49 > 0:11:51Please welcome Francesca MacDuff-Varley!

0:11:51 > 0:11:54APPLAUSE AND CHEERING

0:12:07 > 0:12:11A strange mixture of being proud and disappointed to have come that close,

0:12:11 > 0:12:13or is it just disappointed?

0:12:13 > 0:12:17I did my best, I think. Third was amazing for me. God...

0:12:17 > 0:12:21I was happy with week one or two, to be honest. LAUGHTER

0:12:21 > 0:12:24Let's take a look where it went wrong for you tonight, though.

0:12:24 > 0:12:25I don't think there's anything here

0:12:25 > 0:12:29that indicates to me that you can run a big business.

0:12:29 > 0:12:31But I'd be concerned about you investing a significant

0:12:31 > 0:12:34amount of money with her. I'm not sure she can scale it up.

0:12:34 > 0:12:37Where are we on sort of turnover and profit?

0:12:37 > 0:12:40Erm, I don't know to split it up to you, but...

0:12:40 > 0:12:42I mean, you should know that.

0:12:42 > 0:12:44You should know your numbers.

0:12:44 > 0:12:47She probably would need your help more than any of them actually

0:12:47 > 0:12:48to deliver this.

0:12:48 > 0:12:52We turn over around sort of £50,000, £60,000 profit.

0:12:52 > 0:12:55No, hang on - you can't turn over profit.

0:12:55 > 0:12:58On her CV here it says turnover, £5 million.

0:12:58 > 0:13:00Turnover of £5 million?

0:13:02 > 0:13:06- That was just a number five came into my head.- It's just farcical.

0:13:07 > 0:13:10Do you know what, I am more than happy for today to be over.

0:13:11 > 0:13:14One of the phrases that will stick to me from this episode -

0:13:14 > 0:13:16"It was just a number that came into my head."

0:13:16 > 0:13:20Well, it was either five or ten and I thought ten was totally unbelievable.

0:13:20 > 0:13:22LAUGHTER

0:13:24 > 0:13:25APPLAUSE

0:13:29 > 0:13:30"They'll never check!"

0:13:32 > 0:13:36It's like someone at the end of a GCSE maths exam going,

0:13:36 > 0:13:39"Oh, I've left a few - oh, 7, 24...

0:13:39 > 0:13:41"5 million!"

0:13:41 > 0:13:44You scrutinise hundreds of business plans.

0:13:44 > 0:13:47That wouldn't have got missed, would it?

0:13:47 > 0:13:49That would definitely not have got missed.

0:13:49 > 0:13:52I think it's great that you learned a good lesson here, which is

0:13:52 > 0:13:55perhaps that financials and numbers are not your strength...

0:13:55 > 0:13:57I have an accountant for that!

0:13:57 > 0:14:00Well, you CAN get an accountant for that - by all means get

0:14:00 > 0:14:04a business person or a partner or an accountant to work with you that can

0:14:04 > 0:14:07support you in that area, so you've got the weakness, it's no big deal.

0:14:07 > 0:14:09But don't gloss over it,

0:14:09 > 0:14:12do make sure that you get someone that can help you through that.

0:14:12 > 0:14:16I think it would be fantastic if you could bring your accountant into the house with you for the 12 weeks.

0:14:16 > 0:14:19That's a winner!

0:14:19 > 0:14:22"He's my accountant." Just behind you going "I'm just here to do all the numbers."

0:14:24 > 0:14:28Yeah, but I'm a choreographer, I go five, six, seven, eight, one.

0:14:28 > 0:14:30Two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.

0:14:30 > 0:14:34- There you go. - They're the only numbers you have. And the only numbers you need.

0:14:34 > 0:14:37That's all we need - five, six, seven, eight, one...

0:14:37 > 0:14:40So it could have been turnover - and turn, and turn...

0:14:40 > 0:14:42And turn...

0:14:42 > 0:14:45You've got it there.

0:14:45 > 0:14:46Pick a number, it's fantastic!

0:14:46 > 0:14:51It's a brilliant policy, isn't it. It is a brilliant policy, to be able to pluck a number out of thin air.

0:14:51 > 0:14:54I think it's something that Claude does to people.

0:14:54 > 0:14:58It's happened in the past - he makes people's maths brains just evaporate...

0:14:58 > 0:15:00I don't answer him.

0:15:00 > 0:15:04I daren't answer him, I just thought he's going to crucify me whatever I say.

0:15:04 > 0:15:06Did you think of saying,

0:15:06 > 0:15:08"Why do YOU think it says five, then, Claude?

0:15:08 > 0:15:11"You've read the business plan. What do YOU think?"

0:15:11 > 0:15:13I loved Claude, he was brilliant.

0:15:13 > 0:15:18It's very much the sort of Dr Evil school of accounting, it's like "5 million..."

0:15:18 > 0:15:20You're just like randomly...

0:15:20 > 0:15:24Was it literally just randomly you picked a number that you thought might...

0:15:24 > 0:15:27I just thought, what can I divide really quickly? Ten or five.

0:15:27 > 0:15:29But it was in print.

0:15:29 > 0:15:32It was in your business plan as well.

0:15:32 > 0:15:35It was on the front cover of the business plan.

0:15:35 > 0:15:37Well, just in case they missed it on page 46.

0:15:37 > 0:15:41Were you tempted to do jazz hands at any stage?

0:15:41 > 0:15:44Well, if it all failed I was just going to moonwalk down the boardroom table.

0:15:44 > 0:15:48"Oh, my legs aren't moving but I seem to be leaving the room...!"

0:15:49 > 0:15:53But that's the plan that presumably you're continuing with, Zumba and all these things.

0:15:53 > 0:15:58Yeah, like fitness exercise - group exercise is huge, everybody's heard of Zumba, Bokwa, Powerhoop,

0:15:58 > 0:16:01it's massive, and casting aspersions, but most women

0:16:01 > 0:16:04like to go to classes and do it in a group, not the gym, so

0:16:04 > 0:16:08there's a massive market for somewhere like that, in the North as well.

0:16:08 > 0:16:10OK. You've been praised by the other candidates throughout

0:16:10 > 0:16:13for being a fair and straightforward person to work with,

0:16:13 > 0:16:15but that doesn't mean you don't have your fierce side.

0:16:15 > 0:16:17I will come out fighting.

0:16:18 > 0:16:20What don't you understand about shut up?

0:16:20 > 0:16:22MENACING MUSIC

0:16:26 > 0:16:28GROWLING

0:16:33 > 0:16:36- I'm a pussycat, really! - Yeah... Yeah, yeah.

0:16:38 > 0:16:40Pussycats come in many sizes.

0:16:40 > 0:16:43- That was leopard skin you were wearing sometimes.- I do like it.

0:16:43 > 0:16:48You do like a leopard skin! But you've got feline eyes, you know. And moves like a cat.

0:16:48 > 0:16:49- Like a panther.- Miaow!

0:16:50 > 0:16:52The dancing is so addictive.

0:16:53 > 0:16:56The fearsome face - is it a look you've cultivated

0:16:56 > 0:16:59within the classes, is it useful to have that kind of...?

0:16:59 > 0:17:01I didn't even know I pulled those faces!

0:17:01 > 0:17:04I'm quiet, I think no-one's going to know what I'm thinking...

0:17:04 > 0:17:07They know what I'm thinking. I need to stop that.

0:17:07 > 0:17:09You thought that was your poker face?!

0:17:09 > 0:17:10LAUGHTER

0:17:10 > 0:17:13Did you find that intimidating, Andi?

0:17:13 > 0:17:15No, it was fun. You should do it all the time.

0:17:15 > 0:17:20Just whenever you go into a shop maybe buying shoes... "Grrrr!"

0:17:20 > 0:17:24- Just do it.- "This is me happy. Rarrrr!"

0:17:24 > 0:17:26"I need these in a size 6!"

0:17:26 > 0:17:29You did say that one of your key skills was planning,

0:17:29 > 0:17:31and creativity - that kind of bit you a bit

0:17:31 > 0:17:34when you did the awayday corporate day, cos that was the one

0:17:34 > 0:17:37that was most obviously tuned towards you,

0:17:37 > 0:17:40which is a classic Apprentice thing, people do the thing most attuned to them.

0:17:40 > 0:17:45I did love your motivational speech, though. I thought it was, it spoke deep...

0:17:45 > 0:17:48- Did it?- Oh, the bit where you said, "I, for example,

0:17:48 > 0:17:51"wanted to be a police officer. I'm not."

0:17:51 > 0:17:56I think that spoke to a lot of people who wanted to be something - but aren't.

0:17:57 > 0:18:02Didn't tell them to BECOME the thing, just said, "Yeah. I wanted to be."

0:18:02 > 0:18:05I wanted be an astronaut. I'm not.

0:18:05 > 0:18:10You made it to task 11. Let's hear what Lord Sugar had to say about you.

0:18:12 > 0:18:16Francesca has done well to reach this stage of the process.

0:18:16 > 0:18:19She's always conducted herself with dignity.

0:18:19 > 0:18:24But I haven't really seen much entrepreneurial flair.

0:18:24 > 0:18:26She's been running her business for many years -

0:18:26 > 0:18:30but I'm not convinced that she has the confidence and ability

0:18:30 > 0:18:32to raise it to the next level

0:18:32 > 0:18:35and that's why Francesca had to go.

0:18:39 > 0:18:42You're presumably going to try to prove him wrong in that, aren't you?

0:18:42 > 0:18:48You've got to respect Lord Sugar, he knows exactly what he's doing and what he's looking for as well.

0:18:48 > 0:18:51I think I'm in a business area that he doesn't necessarily

0:18:51 > 0:18:54understand as much, and I think in a lot of elements

0:18:54 > 0:18:57he was right that I've got a lot of learning to do to take it bigger.

0:18:57 > 0:19:00But it's something I definitely want to do, so I'm not going to NOT do it.

0:19:00 > 0:19:04I want to take on board what he said and just learn from that. And hopefully move forward.

0:19:04 > 0:19:08And then hopefully at some stage somebody will say, "By the way, you've just turned over £5 million"

0:19:08 > 0:19:11and you'll go, "I never thought I'd see the day...!"

0:19:11 > 0:19:14Listen, we're going to leave you with a gift.

0:19:14 > 0:19:18This show couldn't make one of your dreams come true, but there is

0:19:18 > 0:19:21one dream you've held since you were a child, and if there's anything we can give you

0:19:21 > 0:19:25it's some image of how you would have looked,

0:19:25 > 0:19:26both snarling and growling.

0:19:26 > 0:19:28The Face... This is the police officer

0:19:28 > 0:19:30we think you would have been.

0:19:30 > 0:19:33Yes. That's brilliant.

0:19:39 > 0:19:43Francesca, congratulations on making it to the last three. Here are your highlights.

0:19:45 > 0:19:48I'm firm, I'm fair and feisty, and I'm very ambitious.

0:19:49 > 0:19:51- Go with 20?- Make it 20.

0:19:51 > 0:19:52- Could we go to maybe 50?- OK...

0:19:52 > 0:19:56We've now sold 174.

0:19:58 > 0:20:00People do underestimate me at first.

0:20:00 > 0:20:03I don't know whether it's the blonde hair and the dance background...

0:20:05 > 0:20:07My motto in life is, go hard or go home.

0:20:09 > 0:20:10I'm tough as old boots!

0:20:10 > 0:20:14Francesca's one of my favourite people in the house.

0:20:14 > 0:20:17- Oh, I love her to bits.- Underneath, I know what I'm talking about.

0:20:17 > 0:20:19Patatas? Patata?

0:20:19 > 0:20:21If it sticks, it's ready.

0:20:23 > 0:20:24What you see is what you get.

0:20:24 > 0:20:27Let's just hope everyone else can deal with that.

0:20:27 > 0:20:30Ladies and gentlemen, Francesca MacDuff-Varley!

0:20:30 > 0:20:31APPLAUSE AND CHEERING

0:20:40 > 0:20:43The firing of our final candidate tonight was a surprise to all of us,

0:20:43 > 0:20:46and a surprise and a regret for Lord Sugar.

0:20:46 > 0:20:50Neil, if this was all about giving someone a job,

0:20:50 > 0:20:52I'd give you a job tomorrow. Right?

0:20:52 > 0:20:58But coming into business with me, I'm afraid not, my friend. I'm sorry.

0:20:58 > 0:21:02I'm disappointed - but, Neil,

0:21:02 > 0:21:06it is with regret that I have to say to you, that...you're fired.

0:21:06 > 0:21:08Thank you for the opportunity.

0:21:13 > 0:21:15Please welcome Neil Clough.

0:21:15 > 0:21:17CHEERING

0:21:20 > 0:21:22CHEERING DROWNS OUT SPEECH

0:21:27 > 0:21:30CHEERING

0:21:34 > 0:21:37So, I really don't have to ask you if you're gutted.

0:21:37 > 0:21:39It was fairly clear that you were, weren't you?

0:21:39 > 0:21:43Finding it very difficult to take right now, so I'm a little bit

0:21:43 > 0:21:46emotional about it, cos I gave it everything I had.

0:21:46 > 0:21:49I respect everything that Lord Sugar said.

0:21:49 > 0:21:51For me, it was a right decision.

0:21:51 > 0:21:53I've not set up a business before,

0:21:53 > 0:21:55it's the first business plan that

0:21:55 > 0:21:59I'd ever written and, obviously, I've come very, very short.

0:21:59 > 0:22:02So, gutted, made a mistake, but respect the decision.

0:22:02 > 0:22:04OK. Let's have a look at this, then.

0:22:04 > 0:22:06Lord Sugar and his advisors were desperate for you

0:22:06 > 0:22:08to change your plan, but it wasn't to be.

0:22:08 > 0:22:12My business plan is an online estate agency business, where the

0:22:12 > 0:22:13vendors do their own viewings

0:22:13 > 0:22:18and to get estate agents to advertise their properties on my website.

0:22:18 > 0:22:20It don't work. It don't make sense.

0:22:20 > 0:22:21On the one hand, you're saying,

0:22:21 > 0:22:23"What I'm going to do is allow

0:22:23 > 0:22:25"individuals not to use the

0:22:25 > 0:22:27"estate agents and to actually sell,

0:22:27 > 0:22:29"through my website, their property."

0:22:29 > 0:22:31On the other hand, you're saying,

0:22:31 > 0:22:33"by the way, I also want estate agents

0:22:33 > 0:22:36"to come on the website. The same guys I'm screwing over here,

0:22:36 > 0:22:37"I want you to come on and

0:22:37 > 0:22:39"spend some money with me." I don't get it.

0:22:39 > 0:22:40What's your plan B?

0:22:40 > 0:22:42This is the one I'm passionate about

0:22:42 > 0:22:43and the one I want him to invest in me.

0:22:43 > 0:22:45- You've got no chance.- I have.

0:22:45 > 0:22:47- No, you don't.- I definitely have.

0:22:47 > 0:22:48LAUGHTER

0:22:48 > 0:22:50He seemed to be very, very wedded

0:22:50 > 0:22:51- to his idea.- This is disappointing.

0:22:51 > 0:22:53I believe this is the one that

0:22:53 > 0:22:55- I know I can make a success. - No, you can't.

0:22:55 > 0:22:58It is a shame that you're still sitting here believing in it.

0:22:58 > 0:23:01The right man, but the wrong plan.

0:23:03 > 0:23:04- AUDIENCE:- Aw!

0:23:04 > 0:23:07That's a tough pill to take, although, to be honest,

0:23:07 > 0:23:10they did try to tell you... How many times did they try to tell you?

0:23:10 > 0:23:12I think I had a heads up, didn't I?

0:23:12 > 0:23:15I think it got to the point where

0:23:15 > 0:23:18I really did believe that the

0:23:18 > 0:23:21idea that I had - and that's all it was, an idea -

0:23:21 > 0:23:24was going to be something that was going to make me successful

0:23:24 > 0:23:28and it got to the point, I'd gone so far through towards the end

0:23:28 > 0:23:31and Lord Sugar was saying, "But what's the contingency?"

0:23:31 > 0:23:34And I think I'd gone so far down that road

0:23:34 > 0:23:37that I had to stick to my plan,

0:23:37 > 0:23:40because that's what I'd written, I believed in it and I stuck by it.

0:23:40 > 0:23:45And now, I've realised it's completely wrong. And, unfortunately,

0:23:45 > 0:23:47it's a bitter pill to take, but, at the same time,

0:23:47 > 0:23:50I've learnt a lot from the experience

0:23:50 > 0:23:52and I'm probably not the right person to ask

0:23:52 > 0:23:55if anybody wants a business plan writing!

0:23:55 > 0:23:57Possibly not right now, no...

0:23:57 > 0:24:00But listen, you've taken a huge leap up a learning curve

0:24:00 > 0:24:04from this, not least in if people are hinting as strongly as that.

0:24:04 > 0:24:06Were you shouting? Were you shouting at the telly?

0:24:06 > 0:24:11I was. I really get you, Neil. I thought you were amazing.

0:24:11 > 0:24:15I thought your self-belief and your passion and your determination...

0:24:15 > 0:24:17I really thought you were terrific. I really did.

0:24:17 > 0:24:20- Thank you.- What you have... I know you.

0:24:20 > 0:24:23You are that entrepreneur that has something

0:24:23 > 0:24:26so deep inside them that really is going to be successful

0:24:26 > 0:24:28and you're going to be brilliant one day.

0:24:28 > 0:24:32- And you will find the right plan. Don't give up.- Thank you.

0:24:32 > 0:24:34CHEERING

0:24:34 > 0:24:36APPLAUSE

0:24:43 > 0:24:46I was a massive Neil fan. I still am a massive Neil fan.

0:24:46 > 0:24:49I think that, whatever you do, you'll be really successful.

0:24:49 > 0:24:53It was just frustrating watching you basically pitch the TV show

0:24:53 > 0:24:55Cribs as a business idea.

0:24:55 > 0:24:56LAUGHTER

0:24:56 > 0:24:58"Guys, welcome to my house! Let me show you around!"

0:24:58 > 0:25:01I don't think it would work. I don't think it would work for every...

0:25:01 > 0:25:03Certainly not round my house.

0:25:03 > 0:25:05It'd be like, "That's where I keep the clothes. On the floor."

0:25:05 > 0:25:06LAUGHTER

0:25:06 > 0:25:09"In the floordrobe." It wouldn't work for everyone.

0:25:09 > 0:25:11And I was begging you just to have

0:25:11 > 0:25:13any flash of inspiration at the last minute.

0:25:13 > 0:25:16Like, they're going, "Plan B. Plan B. Plan B. Think of anything.

0:25:16 > 0:25:18"Inflatable shoes, done!"

0:25:18 > 0:25:20Because I think Lord Sugar would have gone for it.

0:25:20 > 0:25:24A business plan with a tiny modicum of success to it, I think

0:25:24 > 0:25:26he would have snapped it up.

0:25:26 > 0:25:28Yeah. Andi?

0:25:28 > 0:25:30Yeah, the unfortunate thing about your business plan

0:25:30 > 0:25:32was just that sort of paradox of it.

0:25:32 > 0:25:35It was like inviting chickens to come and eat at Nando's, do you know what I mean?

0:25:35 > 0:25:39LAUGHTER

0:25:39 > 0:25:43APPLAUSE

0:25:45 > 0:25:48They're not going to go for it. They're not going to go for it.

0:25:48 > 0:25:50You've been a huge player in this entire process,

0:25:50 > 0:25:53right from the very start. Right from the start, you are making your presence felt.

0:25:53 > 0:25:56I've come up with absolutely everything in this task.

0:25:56 > 0:25:57I've come up with all the ideas today.

0:25:57 > 0:26:00I was the main decision maker, that's why we won the task.

0:26:00 > 0:26:02Behind every great project manager, there's Neil Clough.

0:26:02 > 0:26:05I think we've probably done enough to win.

0:26:05 > 0:26:08- You lost.- Neil, have you been knocked down a few pegs now?

0:26:08 > 0:26:09Absolutely not.

0:26:09 > 0:26:12My motivation comes from when I was 18 years of age

0:26:12 > 0:26:14and my dad passed away from cancer.

0:26:14 > 0:26:15Dad wanted to push me

0:26:15 > 0:26:17to be a football player.

0:26:17 > 0:26:18'Neil's really stood out for me.'

0:26:18 > 0:26:20He's very engaging, he's very warm

0:26:20 > 0:26:22and can relate to everyone at quite a personal level.

0:26:22 > 0:26:25Everybody should always have one key motivation.

0:26:25 > 0:26:28Make sure that you do everything you can to go out and get it.

0:26:28 > 0:26:30APPLAUSE

0:26:30 > 0:26:31I have to tell you, they were very

0:26:31 > 0:26:33- impressed with you, Neil.- Thank you.

0:26:33 > 0:26:35Very impressed indeed.

0:26:35 > 0:26:38So you impressed the entire way through and also, by the way,

0:26:38 > 0:26:40you give great Neil Clough speeches.

0:26:40 > 0:26:41LAUGHTER

0:26:41 > 0:26:43One of the features of the process was Neil Clough

0:26:43 > 0:26:45saw what had to be done and Neil Clough did it.

0:26:45 > 0:26:47That's what Neil Clough does.

0:26:47 > 0:26:48LAUGHTER

0:26:48 > 0:26:51You were very good at giving a pocket sized, punchy version of what

0:26:51 > 0:26:54Neil Clough has done today, that has made that thing work for that team.

0:26:54 > 0:26:55LAUGHTER

0:26:55 > 0:26:57Well, let's have a listen to what Lord Sugar has to

0:26:57 > 0:26:59say about you.

0:27:01 > 0:27:04Neil's been a very strong candidate throughout,

0:27:04 > 0:27:08demonstrating his determination to succeed.

0:27:08 > 0:27:12However, Neil's greatest flaw is his inability to listen to sound

0:27:12 > 0:27:15advice and to change his plan.

0:27:15 > 0:27:18I'm very sorry that Neil's stubbornness

0:27:18 > 0:27:21has resulted in him having to leave this process

0:27:21 > 0:27:23just before the final task.

0:27:23 > 0:27:25But he really gave me no other choice

0:27:25 > 0:27:27but to fire him.

0:27:29 > 0:27:32Would you say you're a better listener now?

0:27:32 > 0:27:35I definitely think that's one thing I've learnt through the whole

0:27:35 > 0:27:39process is sometimes, maybe, you don't know it better than

0:27:39 > 0:27:43the people that you're speaking to and certainly not to Lord Sugar,

0:27:43 > 0:27:46and Lord Sugar's aides that were trying to give me the signs.

0:27:46 > 0:27:49But, you know, I regret not changing my plan now,

0:27:49 > 0:27:53but, at the same time, all I can do is listen, learn and hopefully

0:27:53 > 0:27:56take their advice and become bigger and better through doing it.

0:27:56 > 0:27:59OK, 11 tasks ago, 16 candidates started the journey to become

0:27:59 > 0:28:02Lord Sugar's business partner. Now, only two remain.

0:28:05 > 0:28:08So, will it be Luisa or Leah who win Lord Sugar's

0:28:08 > 0:28:10quarter of a million pound investment?

0:28:13 > 0:28:15Dale, in that final, who would your money be on?

0:28:15 > 0:28:17My money's on Leah, I think.

0:28:17 > 0:28:19I think she's very intelligent, she's very professional.

0:28:19 > 0:28:22I think she's quite a potent combination.

0:28:22 > 0:28:24She is also a consistent overachiever

0:28:24 > 0:28:26and I think she'll do well.

0:28:26 > 0:28:27Matt?

0:28:27 > 0:28:31Well, I like cakes and my lips are already luscious enough,

0:28:34 > 0:28:36Yeah, I'm going to say Luisa.

0:28:36 > 0:28:38I mean, I don't quite get the business plan.

0:28:38 > 0:28:41I don't think Mr Kipling's got anything to worry about just yet.

0:28:41 > 0:28:42LAUGHTER

0:28:42 > 0:28:45You've been a terrific competitor all the way through this.
