:00:26. > :00:31.It is Saturday, it is 9 : 05. Here with the draws it is Mr OJ Borge.
:00:31. > :00:35.We have with you the Lotto and the jackpot at 4 million. A nice
:00:35. > :00:39.amount of cash to make a long way to make this Christmas is special
:00:39. > :00:43.one. Also, following the fantastic National Lottery Awards 2012, we
:00:43. > :00:47.have the winners of the Best Voluntary and Charity Project to
:00:47. > :00:52.tell us if their feet have touched the ground since picking up the
:00:52. > :01:02.award last Saturday. First, it is time for Thunderball. It is like we
:01:02. > :01:04.
:01:04. > :01:14.have been practising all night for that! OK, Julie, time to kick-start
:01:14. > :01:14.
:01:14. > :01:24.the first machine if you would. Julie is the drawmaster.
:01:24. > :01:26.
:01:26. > :01:32.Excalibur and set of balls six was selected by Lewis from Denham.
:01:32. > :01:42.Julie, so, for the Thunderball draw are we ready? Yes, we are, thank
:01:42. > :02:13.
:02:13. > :02:21.The last ball is next. Julie, let's get the second machine
:02:21. > :02:26.moving, please. The next and final ball is the
:02:26. > :02:30.thunderer ball it is worth money to each and every ticket that matches
:02:30. > :02:37.with it. If you have matches to the other numbers drawn so far, then
:02:37. > :02:41.the money you will win is a Christmas cracking half a million
:02:41. > :02:51.pounds! Gary could make a big difference to what you could win.
:02:51. > :02:58.
:02:59. > :03:02.There it is, that is number nine. Thank you, Alan. Now, tonight's big
:03:02. > :03:06.Lotto Draw is caming right up, but first, let's have a look at the
:03:06. > :03:11.project that touched the hearts of millions at this year's National
:03:11. > :03:15.Lottery Awards 2012. New Forest Nightstop is the only
:03:15. > :03:19.provider of emergency accommodation for young people in the New Forest.
:03:19. > :03:25.We do this through homes of trained and approved volunteers, that offer
:03:25. > :03:28.a spare room to a young person in need. People are surprised that
:03:28. > :03:34.homelessness exists in the New Forest. Generally it is perceived
:03:34. > :03:38.as a city issue. My mum got remarried. He did not
:03:39. > :03:46.want me and I ended up on the streets.
:03:46. > :03:56.I was hungry and alone and depressed. I was tired. People were
:03:56. > :04:03.
:04:03. > :04:09.just like, "Are you staying alone?" But I was just a young girl who was
:04:09. > :04:12.so lost. No-one was listening. With me now are Jude and Katie from
:04:12. > :04:18.New Forest Nightstop. Welcome to the show. What a fantastic award
:04:18. > :04:21.you won. How did it feel? It felt wonderful to receive an award and
:04:21. > :04:25.to be voted in there by our local community.
:04:25. > :04:30.I was in the audience it was a fantastic night. There were lots of
:04:30. > :04:35.tears, and all for the right reasons. Why did you get involved
:04:35. > :04:40.in the project? I saw a leaflet, offering a young person a room, I
:04:40. > :04:45.thought that I could do that, but I was homeless at 16. I know the
:04:45. > :04:51.risks on the streets there. Were no places to go. You were faced with
:04:51. > :04:56.abuse and drugs. It strips all of your self-esteem and it takes a
:04:56. > :05:01.toll. So I wonder how I survived. Some of my friends did not, but New
:05:01. > :05:06.Forest Nightstop offers a positive way to make a difference and to
:05:06. > :05:13.support a homeless young person. Knowing you have been on the
:05:13. > :05:16.streets, what did it make, feel to you to make a difference? It was
:05:16. > :05:22.priceless. It was such a small thing to open your door, to offer a
:05:22. > :05:26.bed and a meal. It changed my life. How does the lottery funding help
:05:26. > :05:30.New Forest Nightstop? Hugely. We are based in the New Forest. There
:05:30. > :05:38.is no other emergency accommodation, just New Forest Nightstop. We have
:05:38. > :05:42.been able to with the lottery money to provide over 170 nights to
:05:42. > :05:50.over00 people it is graigt. Katie, we saw you on the night,
:05:50. > :05:55.there were tears, how are you you now? I am doing really well. I am
:05:55. > :06:00.now a qualified worker and I help New Forest Nightstop. They gave me
:06:00. > :06:05.the tools to be independent and to cope with my mental health and
:06:05. > :06:09.provided me with the facilities to do that. So and now I have a
:06:09. > :06:15.beautiful home. What can you do to help people in the same position as
:06:15. > :06:19.you? I am a qualified youth worker now. I am also embarking on a
:06:19. > :06:24.degree. So to know that I can provide them with the tools it is
:06:24. > :06:28.amazing. I will hopefully inspire them to do something with their
:06:28. > :06:38.lives. That would be remarkable. Now, you were on the stage last
:06:38. > :06:39.
:06:39. > :06:45.Saturday. You got the award from a Spice Girl, Melanie C. What did it
:06:46. > :06:49.feel like? It was really great, we felt successful. And this breaks
:06:49. > :06:53.down the stigma. Where is the award now? It is on my
:06:53. > :06:58.desk. What do you say to projects
:06:58. > :07:02.thinking of going for a Lottery Award next year? Oh, do it. It is
:07:02. > :07:06.really exciting it does a lot to publicise your work and
:07:06. > :07:09.organisation. It is a really nice work to celebrate the work that is
:07:09. > :07:15.done behind the scenes. And if people want to find more
:07:15. > :07:18.they can go to the website? Yes, go to the website: Find out more also
:07:18. > :07:20.about the New Forest Nightstop network and hear more about our
:07:20. > :07:25.spare rooms campaign in the New Year.
:07:25. > :07:29.We look forward to hearing you both, and thank you both for coming in.
:07:30. > :07:39.Are you ready to help us push the button? Yes, we are.
:07:40. > :07:41.
